Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to the Robin and Kid podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Our next guest is a stand up comedian and internet
sensation as everyone's favorite mom.
Speaker 3 (00:12):
Lynn.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Never been on the Irish horses because they're tired.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
They need to come on the plane. You'd be too
if you've got the plane from Ireland. Put your hands
together for Robin and Kit with melbuddle.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Hello, we love you, we love you.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Hello.
Speaker 1 (00:25):
I mean that is that's still good advice as we
get towards Melbourne Cup. Never bet on the Irish horses.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
Hey, Lynn knows she's not silly or a gray horse.
When's the last time a gray horse won?
Speaker 1 (00:34):
And yeah, you're right, it's been a long time. It's
been a while now. I was talking yesterday Emel about
struggling to bond with the new baby. Obviously I'm great
with Rafae not we also had yesterday this was a
momentary accident and you know, Siena's four months, but you've
(00:55):
got a baby at home and you you didn't carry,
which is what we're wondering whether maybe that made the
difference because Naomi is so well bonded. But for me,
i'm sort of you know, I'm sure it's going to
get there, but right now, take to leave it.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Interesting. I had a similar thing where I couldn't calm
Harry down. Nuraan was the only one who could do it.
And I went to my psychologist and I said, look,
he just doesn't like me. Is because he wasn't in
my tummy. And she was like, you know what, Yes,
it was because when he's in the tummy, he's hearing
her heartbeat, her breathing, he sleeps, he's on a cycle.
(01:28):
Everything that comforts him is her body, right, and now
he's just on the outside. So she's like, yeah, of
course he's going to want her back because he doesn't
know your heartbeat, doesn't know your breathing. Yes, And I
was like, okay, still hurtful.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
I'm glad there's a scientific reason.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
However, Yeah, the.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Other thing you can do And I did this so
you know. Sometimes there's kids that are a bit unusual
and to get the dog to play with them, you
put a lamb chop in their pocket or something. Yes,
I put on Nuran's shirts do to try and trick
him into liking.
Speaker 1 (02:04):
Yeah, okay, how do you do that?
Speaker 3 (02:05):
Please?
Speaker 1 (02:07):
The biggest sure that Naomi's got perfume.
Speaker 4 (02:09):
Would do Okay, if she was, you know, if she
has one particular sent I reckon, that's a really good idea.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
Actually, but what's what's why aren't you bonding, Kip? What's
the problem? What is she not texting your back?
Speaker 1 (02:22):
She's just not fun yet, that's the thing. You know
she's getting there, He's not interested. I just know she
will be fun. I know that it happens. I know
that the fun time comes at about six months and
they start to do things. But right now it's just
a blob cheers. I get it.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I get it. I think what you need to remember
in the back of your mind, you're not the favorite now,
but you can always just buy Sianna repea wee fifty
for a second birthday. Who's going to be a favorite?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Then? Yeah, you're right. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:49):
Do you know what he did with raf is he
made him like just laughed at everything that Raphael did.
And Kip has this great relationship with his little boy,
except when he goes to Daycaaren gets in trouble because
all he wants to do is make people laugh.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
In his mind, that is the most important thing to
do in the world.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
I kind of agree with I'm not saying the problem.
Speaker 1 (03:10):
Right exactly. Yeah, Well, coming up in a second, I
want to play some audio of how I was able
to settle sea inna yesterday, and it kind of plays
into your idea of pretending to be someone else. She
was crying and so I faked being someone else, worked
a treat, not Naomi, not Naomi, but I have audio
of it. It's a little strange. We're getting a lot
(03:32):
of help at the moment, which is great from Naomi's mum,
Nanny Pearl, who has actually done a few overnights and
she's going to stay the night tonight, so that Naomi
and I we're going to stay at the emporium after
the champagneas and we're having a proper night away.
Speaker 2 (03:47):
Is this the first proper night away? How's Naomi's anxiety
going with that?
Speaker 1 (03:52):
I think it's through the roof. I think she's pretty stressed.
But even though Nanny Pearl's been there in the house
doing the overnights, is that she she's still not sleeping,
like she's still awake knowing that something's happening out.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
There, because it's like genetically programmed, and you'd be out
like a log, like a log.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, I don't even start. I drive her crazy because
I wake up. God, that was pretty good last night,
and she was like, are you serious? How did you
not know? So? But Nanny Pearl, one thing I've noticed
is that whenever she's nursing and caring for Sienna is
that she sings to her the whole time or speaks
to her the whole time, and is not necessarily saying
positive things about me and Naomi because she loves her
(04:31):
so much and wants to take her away. So what
I discovered yesterday when I was trying to calm Siena
I was home alone, is that if I impersonated Nanny
Pearl that the baby would calm down. And it worked
a treat. And here's just a little bit of me
being Nanny Pearl.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
I'm here to see you from your mommy and daddy.
I do love you as much as your nanny. I'm
going to take you to Nanny. We can be together for.
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Is that what she says? That's what she says all
the time.
Speaker 2 (05:08):
Did you dress up keep missus?
Speaker 1 (05:14):
And I set that on to Nanny Pearl. She loved it.
That's the best.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
So she literally says, I want to say I'm she'd
be like Hello, You're my world.
Speaker 1 (05:23):
You're my whole world. I love you. So you're the
only important thing for me in the world. Now, nationality
is she was born in India, been here since her twenties. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
I think what we've learned, kidse babies like to be
spoken and sung to.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Yes, okay, So here's the experiment across the weekend. After
you come back from your amazing night tonight, I want
you to try and do it as Kip Whiteman.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Oh gee.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
I want you to.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
Just like speak like the father of this child and
record yourself and see what happened. So was she crying
when you started to be Nanny Pearl and then she stopped?
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah, then she stopped. Okay, so you'll.
Speaker 4 (06:02):
Get a moment where she's crying.
Speaker 1 (06:04):
I want you to be Kip. I'll just be me.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Yeah, but saying the words Nanny Pearl.
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Okay, you can do that.
Speaker 1 (06:10):
Take you away from your horrible parents.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
And the other thing I want you to do is please,
at some point, can you record Nanny Pearl?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
Yes? Sure, yeah, well not the misdoubtful. You'll be amazed
at how close that I reckon. I knew pretty much
nailed that in person.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Okay, I'm going to text you across the weekend to
remind you to do that, because I want to see
on Monday what happens.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
All right, done, She's gonna scream it's not going to work.
It's not going to work. But anyway, if you want
to hear it, i'll try. It's Robin on Brisbane's Kiss
