Speaker 1 (00:00):
The genie is out of the bottle. For Lucy, once
she found out that the man that she calls Dad
was not her biological father, she had to get she
had to find out who he really was, and so
we set our PI Dave on the case. She had
some clues we knew they were possibly in wa PI
Dave from Ostrace Investigations came back with this.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Quite relatively easy, too fine.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
So they're both employed as such, they're both married currently
and have been for a long time.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
You okay, love, I'm just going to give you a
figin please.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Oh okay, don't have affairs.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
I didn't think I would ever being a fair child,
but now I'm either going to destroy another family or
just keep destroying my family.

Speaker 1 (00:46):
So we gave her the contact details for those two
men and left it with her, and Lucy has called
the show back with an update.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
How's it been the last twenty four hours?

Speaker 4 (00:56):
So on mom's side, it's being very quietn't spoken to
me about anything.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Did you say anything to her?

Speaker 5 (01:04):
Nope?

Speaker 4 (01:04):
But I did make one phone call yesterday who too?

Speaker 5 (01:09):
So I called the man with one child.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
Turns out he's got two children.

Speaker 5 (01:18):
So with the way my brain's been lately.

Speaker 4 (01:23):
The man that did the ancestry test and matched as
the first cousin was actually his son. And he told
me that yesterday on the phone. And it's weird because
they didn't seem shocked or surprised, or it's kind of
like they knew it was coming.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
So did you speak to the son your cousin or
you spoke to the man who spoke.

Speaker 5 (01:43):
To the uncle?

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Who is the uncle the one with four kids will.

Speaker 5 (01:47):
Be my father? Right?

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And did you realize that before you run? You'd run?

Speaker 4 (01:53):
No, Because in my little muttered up brain, I thought
that the one who did the test my first cousin,
actually long to the sister. Turns out I was completely wrong,
and he's one of the children of the men who
yesterday became my uncle.

Speaker 1 (02:12):
So when you spoke to him, how was the reception?

Speaker 5 (02:16):
It was fun, Like.

Speaker 4 (02:19):
He told me where this other man had worked in
the past.

Speaker 5 (02:23):
Like it's the fact that he wasn't shocked.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
What do you think that means? Do you think that
means he expected it or maybe he knew about you?
What do you think that means?

Speaker 5 (02:32):
I'm not sure. I'm really not sure.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
So what has that shifted? What you're going to do next?

Speaker 3 (02:40):
And do you think that man will tell his brother
before you can call?

Speaker 5 (02:46):
I'm not sure. So yesterday I did.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Send the man a text message politely with a little backstory.
You worked with, My mother gave the name in nineteen
ninety two. I've just got some questions, ask likeke you
pleasing me?

Speaker 5 (03:01):
Callback?

Speaker 2 (03:02):
And they work together like you know that? Right?

Speaker 5 (03:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (03:06):
For how long?

Speaker 5 (03:08):
I'm honestly not sure.

Speaker 4 (03:09):
I would have to go back to my dad and
question all this because he kept saying, you know, she
had this really great friend at work her name was
And I kind of thought about it yesterday and I
laughed with Dad. I was like, are you sure her
friend's name.

Speaker 5 (03:23):
Was not this other thing, like you know?

Speaker 4 (03:29):
And he was laughing with me, and he's like, that's
like such a coincidence. But to us, we're all blindsided.
Even my dad was blindsided. He knew nothing different.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Oh my god, Lucy, your mom knows stuff. Your mom
noice stuff.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
He's ignoring me, but that's what she's done for most
of my life, so nothing will change. I think the
day that she tells me some information is probably the
day I have a heart attack or something.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
So this text message is that's sitting out there. It's
pretty crazy, isn't it. Like I can just imagine seeing
that text message from someone out of the blue saying
you don't know me, but you know I'm potentially your daughter.
So that's just hanging out there now, and we're just
hoping that he's going to call you back.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I mean if he doesn't, let's say it goes two.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Three days without a callback, do you think you'll just
have to call him?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:18):
I thought about it.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
I've just got to work out like I don't know
what work he's in, and with persing two hours behind us,
I have to work out times like for us at
nine o'clock at seven o'clock there, is it too early?
Is his wife still home? Like? I really don't If
I don't have to drag in the four kids and
the wife, I really.

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Don't want to. But there's just information that.

Speaker 4 (04:44):
I need to know.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
What if they want nothing to do with you, I'm.

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Okay with that because I've got the best dad I
could ask for. He's not blood, but he's everything I've needed.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Can I say to you, Lucy, you're an incredibly brave woman.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
I'm actually at the stage of thinking of getting on.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
A plane before my holiday and just knocking up at
the doorstep.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Wow.

Speaker 5 (05:08):
Really, like that's where it's getting to. If my phone calls.

Speaker 4 (05:12):
Or my text messages aren't answered, you kind of can't
ignore the person standing at your front doorstep.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
You're very respectful.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
I mean, honestly, if someone's going to knock out rock
up out of the blue and say I'm your daughter.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
You're you're a pretty good result, you know what I mean.
You've got your head screwed on.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
You're very respectful, You're thinking about other people.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
You're doing this all for the right reasons.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Like you know, I think to find out that you
were someone's sort of I think they would be they
should be thrilled to find out that you are their
offspring because from our you know, our small dealings together,
you're you're a pretty special person.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Lucy.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
Thank you.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
This is a bit crazy and may not be appropriate,
but taking in the way I'm to do it is
to help you. We've done doing this thing called confessions
for cash, right yep. If we offered to pay her
some money, do you think she would talk to us?

Speaker 5 (06:14):
What's really bad?

Speaker 4 (06:17):
This was like I spoke to my dad yesterday about
it all, and he was the one who gave me
the go ahead to message and I.

Speaker 5 (06:23):
Was like, oh, you know, they spoke to me.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
That mum coming on board and talking to them, and
Dad's like, she won't do anything unless it's money involved.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
I would probably say, yes.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
Wow, okay, So that might be the motivator. I mean,
and that's fine, right that things.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
These people are telling us stuff because you know, times
are tough, don't I don't judge that idea. But would
you want to talk to her with us or would
you like us to talk to her?

Speaker 5 (06:47):
I don't mind either way.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
You guys might get more out of her than I
ever will.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
See, I can see why you'd be disappointed in that, though, Lucia, like,
this is yours, This is so important to you, this information,
and it's yeah, it's disappointing that it would take money
for her to tell you the truth.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
I mean, thinking about me or my children, But she's
just thinking about us.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
It's always been that way.

Speaker 2 (07:10):
As I said, leave it with us.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Let us see if we can get your mum involved,
to see whether she'll talk to us. See whether you
know whether you should be a part of that or not.
I don't know, and you know it would be a
lot for her to come clean on all of this,
So if some money, like a thousand dollars or whatever
would help in that, then.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I'd happily pay it.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
Yeah, okay mate, just thank you and any other updates
let us know.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
I will take care.

Speaker 5 (07:40):
Thank you.
