Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robin terial kick on Brisbane's Kiss ninety seven to three.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Now, it's been talked about a lot around the building, Robin,
like from our producer Ruth, from Terry and then from
your own sons that you are not much of a
cook self admitment.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yeah, Like, I'm quite happy to tell you that it's
just not something I enjoyed to do.

Speaker 1 (00:19):
You told us the other day that you won't even
You've never prepared a meal for date night. No, okay, why.

Speaker 4 (00:25):
Would I want to kill the person I'm trying to press.
I'm sorry, that's surprising.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Well, it might impress them just once, would be nice.

Speaker 3 (00:32):
I'm sear. No, babe, I'm so under confident.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
This is the thing.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
Like you think it's all hilarious, but I actually don't
think I'm capable. Yes, like I can do basic stuff
to feed my kids, and I've managed to do that,
But my whole childhood, my sister had an eating disorder.
I was never allowed in the kitchen. My mum also
doesn't like cooking. It's just not a priority for hers,
so I don't.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
I'm not interested and it freaks me out.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Well, what better way to get your confidence for the
very first time, we'll just say confidence back, but your
confidence for the very first time than by having a
dinner party where everyone's invited and we have some big news.
You could have your coucies home, you can wear your
louie a town much.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
You better get a hen it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Oh Gazamike, you cook, Robin can't cook. Where's the lam
st now, Robin? Remember I was saying that we have
a venue. We have somebody who's interested and letting us
have the dinner party at their place.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Yeah, and it's not your mum's even though there are
pictures of your.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Dogs on the wall. Yes, that's the only information I have.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
That was my clue. And there's a long story as
to why that is there. When she is not important
right now, because what is important is that we have
one of the owners from the Normanby Hotel. His name
is Sam, who joins us. Now, Sam, thank you so
much for letting us have your lovely restaurant, your bar
and restaurant for this event.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Mate, But pleasure keep up.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Good to hear you boys, mate, So what's wrong with you?

Speaker 5 (02:01):
I just think it's a great challenge. And since Robin's
sons aren't backing her, I'm backing it. My brother and
I reckon a great opportunity.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
Do you cook at your own venue?

Speaker 5 (02:09):
I personally don't cook, but we have a fantastic chef,
Big Dave beats the head chef, and he'll be in
there overseeing the operation on your special days.

Speaker 2 (02:18):
Scares.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
I was about to ask this, Big Dave is having
a hand over the kitchen and say yes chef to Robin,
is he Yeah, Big.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
Dave is happy to that. I think he's even organizing
a nice apron for Robin as well.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Excellent. I just don't want to do this.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
You know, this could be a tougher day for Dave
than anyone else. Dave having to stand there and watch you.

Speaker 4 (02:37):
He doesn't have to. He actually really doesn't.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
He might need to for health and safety.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
Yes, how big is the kitchen? What are we talking about?

Speaker 5 (02:45):
It's one of the biggest probably pubs in Queen Plane
kitchen wise, it's huge house, up to about ten or
twelve staff at any one time.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Robin's just shaking her head just the idea of being
in a commercial kitchen which is capable of putting out
so many delicious meals, so many different options.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Doing this, mate, Like seriously I don't want to do it,
you really, honestly, you don't want to do it.

Speaker 4 (03:06):
It's not going to help you. There is nothing about
this that is a good idea.

Speaker 5 (03:11):
It's a great idea.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
See Sam's on board, Sam's and ideas.

Speaker 4 (03:15):
Mate doesn't cook, you know, haven't run such a successful venue.

Speaker 1 (03:22):
The joy you bring to people around the tables where
there's celebrations, to be able to share a.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
Fool but does that? I can do that with a drink.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I'm Barman. You can be Barman on the day kid.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Yeah, okay, excellent.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
So this is what I like.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
This is why it's great to have it at the
Norman Bey, because even if the meal is terrible, we're
just gonna have some wines. We'll have a few beers.

Speaker 4 (03:42):
Everyone's going to be having a good time. Everyone, everyone
but me.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
Is it one of those kitchens where the people who
are eating can see what's going on.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
They can see you cooking if they walk past where
they they can't see it. You can hide a little bit,
but it is an open kitchen. At least you all
can stand it. Watch what you're up to.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Okay, have you got a delivery space out of the.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Back and big Dave will keep her on us. Money,
Sam A.

Speaker 5 (04:07):
Big Dave, the weapon will keep her on it. You'll
look after it, the weapon.

Speaker 3 (04:11):
The weapon, and you are going to trust me with
your knives, your kitchen, your pizza oven. Man, I'm sorry
in preparations, Sam, it's all okay.

Speaker 5 (04:22):
The family visits, nothing can go wrong.

Speaker 4 (04:24):
Exactly exactly.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Well, thank you so much for getting on board, Samd.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
We love it.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Mate, pleasure guys getting amongst it.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Go back to Big Dave.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
He'll be excited.

it very soon once we've locked that in. But you
