Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts year more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on the Free.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Robin and Kidd Now with Correos the podcast.

Speaker 3 (00:26):
So you mentioned this just after news, Robert, You've got
a big dilemma with your dog Molly.

Speaker 4 (00:30):
I know I might cry.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
I'll just say that because she's so precious to me.
I've had her for five years. She's an RSPCA rescued dog,
and I got her first, and then I got my
little Malti shit So who's also a rescue dog from
the RSPCA, and they're very good friends. But Molly is
scared of the world. Helpie cattle cross. Yeah, okay, she

(00:53):
was obviously an abused animal. I got her when she
was nine months, but as a puppy because there are
certain people that really scare her, and the world scares her.
Like when she's at home with me, she's great. But
if we walk, and I walk her every day, cars
scare her, other dogs scare her, people scare her. She
spends a whole life with a tail between her legs

(01:13):
outside of our fence.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
I remember when we came around to do a little
bit of rennou work that Yeah, she came out the
front barked, but was like, you could tell she's skittish,
Like she's like what to do?

Speaker 4 (01:24):
Why are you carrying hammers? I'm trying to protect my mom.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
But so when we're in Vegas, my wonderful girlfriend Linda
came up from Adelaide. She's helping me with my renovation renovations,
and she looked after the dogs. And her partner, Mark
is a farmer in the Adelaide Hills, and Molly doesn't
like most men, but she really took to Mark, and
so much so that she was following him around. And

(01:48):
when I came back, Linda rang me and said, look,
just if you want to, we could take Mollie to
Adelaide and she could be our farm dog because she's
so happy when she's a with Mark. But also she
could run. She wouldn't be frightened of cars.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
She wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
They don't have any other dogs. His farm dog died
and she loves like a while ago, so there's no
dog to compete with, and you know, and I said,
but she'd have to. You know, I kind of started
to think about it, and I'm like, no, she has
to sleep inside. She sleeps on her bed at the
base of my.

Speaker 6 (02:26):
Bed, I'm not.

Speaker 1 (02:27):
But then it started to really get in my head
because I'm like, I can't ask.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Her what she wants now, you can't find out for Molly.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
I can't ask her. But I wonder that if life
is so traumatic for her every time I take her
out and she needs exercise. She's a kelpie cattle, she's
got to run and walk, and she does that with me,
but then she freaks, and I think, am I better
letting go my beloved dog because it's better for her?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
And is it better for her?

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 7 (02:59):
Had but me obviously when you brought her in here
that day, it took her about a couple of minutes.
You know, I sat on the ground. Then she finally
came to me, and you were really prize. But yeah,
look if I put myself in your shoes and that's
like me, someone go under me.

Speaker 5 (03:17):
And saying, oh, look, I think Marlon's better off of me.

Speaker 7 (03:20):
I would boret my eyes out if someone mentioned like
taking my dog off me and saying it's better for him.

Speaker 4 (03:27):
But what if it was true, if you knew it
was true.

Speaker 5 (03:30):
I struggle so much, but like it's yeah for me.
I like dogs deserve to be happy.

Speaker 7 (03:35):
And and enjoy and and it is it's so hard.
I actually do know someone that has done something similar.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Happened.

Speaker 7 (03:42):
He bought. It was a Roddie and it was his dog.
He had him for about five, six or four years
and he was.

Speaker 5 (03:50):
A great dog.

Speaker 7 (03:51):
And one day he just like snapped, like I didn't
do anything's bad, just he just snapped.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
And scared him.

Speaker 7 (03:58):
And then a trainer said you should probably give him away,
and he ended up giving to his mum on a
farm and he took him about ten months. But he
said it was the best thing he ever done, because
he just says he's so much happier there too, and
he's never snapped or nothing ever.

Speaker 5 (04:17):
Again.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
He just needed it.

Speaker 5 (04:18):
Yeah, it was. It was just one of those things.

Speaker 7 (04:21):
And I cannot say to do anything because I struggle.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
I don't know what I would do. I really don't.
But it's the other dog.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
It's sod the Maltese as a principessor like this.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
This dog does not care.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Like she's just was.

Speaker 4 (04:35):
She not care if Molly's gone.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
I think she would be okay. She was. She and
her brother were surrendered to the RSPCA and they split
them right and that was an RSPCA decision. So I
think she would be fine as long as you know
she can still lie on the bed and get her
belly rubbed. But I'm genuinely like thirteen one sixty five.
You know, if you've done this, if you have had

(04:58):
a strong opinion about it, I'm happy to be to
someone to come up against me and say that it
is the worst thing I could possibly do.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I think you want someone to tell you it's the
worst thing.

Speaker 6 (05:07):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
I don't want to do it. It breaks my heart,
but I also want what's best for my dog. Yeah,
but yeah, thirteen one sixty five and coming up, I'll
tell you. I told one of my sons and he
had a very big reaction.

Speaker 4 (05:20):
I'll tell you what it is.

Speaker 7 (05:22):
All I know is if you did let her go,
and after you know a little bit of time, or
even in the first few days, and you see a video
of her how happy, and you see it in their face.

Speaker 5 (05:34):
You really can with dogs, And I'm sure you know that.

Speaker 7 (05:37):
I believe that'd be the best thing you could probably see.
And I think that'll make you feel lot better if
that was the case, I could say.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
And what do your boys think Okay.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
So I spoke to Luin, my middle son, and he
was ropable. He was like, you do not mess with
a person and their dogs.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
You wouldn't give us away, mom, is what I say.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
If Mike was interested in the twenty three year old, send.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
The boys to live on a farm, there's no car thirteen.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
If you ever done this, has it worked well? Has
it been the worst decision of your whole entire life?

Speaker 4 (06:18):
All the best?

Speaker 1 (06:19):
Did your heartbreak in the shape.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Of It's kissed? Ninety seven three?

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Debbie of Logan Reserve, what do you reckon?

Speaker 8 (06:30):
Well, I've actually sort of like you, Robin in one way,
because they're our family and they're our babies and we
don't want to lose them or anything like that. However,
she's a Kelpie cross and she's built for farm work,
and I reckon she'd be much more happier on the farm.
But I bore my eyes out when I gave her away. Yeah, yeah,

(06:52):
but yeah, I reckon. I reckon live longer on the
farm because you'll be happier.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Okay, thanks, Louise of Logan Village.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
What do you think.

Speaker 6 (07:01):
She's going to go to the farm?

Speaker 9 (07:04):
I have, I'm I'm on larger acreage for suburbia. Have
I rescue kelpie. She is petrified of anybody and anything
except me. You are already at advantage because she likes him.
My husband has said this dog. For the two years

(07:24):
we've had her, he's sped her every single day. She
still will not go near him unless unless he has.

Speaker 6 (07:30):
Sat on the ground.

Speaker 9 (07:32):
Wow, they're a working dog, They're not really a social dog.
So I think she'll be like you walking her every day.
I think she would be like that her whole life,
or a very large portion of it, and she would
be much happier where she can just run around and
not have to stress about all those unknown That's some.

Speaker 4 (07:52):
Good experience from Louise.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Thankss Kirsty of Parckage.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
What do you think, hey.

Speaker 10 (07:58):
Guys, Hey Robin. I think maybe Molly would be best
on the farm, but maybe do it as a trial.
See how she goes, see how she attaches and enjoys
the area. If she just crawls back into a space again,
maybe it's not the right pit for her.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Okay, So I take her to Adelaide and then just
stay there for a couple of days and see.

Speaker 6 (08:17):
No bond and grow Yes, yes, for a weekend.

Speaker 10 (08:28):
But yeah, you've got to take you out for that
emotional at the bond and grow or need her to
close down and bring a back and you go and.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
Sample some chiras off the week for a couple of weeks.
A good good Now, Christie, We'll got a family prize
