Speaker 1 (00:12):
I heard podcasts, hear more kiss podcasts, playlists and listen
live on.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
The free iHeart app.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Kid now with the podcast.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
And it's Thursday morning. So tonight is the night, the
final light of the Brisbane Fashion Festival. We've been talking
about this the last few weeks. Corey and I are
going to be taking the catwalk, the runway.

Speaker 5 (00:37):
I've never seen you two have so much attention for
so long.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
Yeah on one thing.

Speaker 5 (00:41):
Yeah, well you're not usually interested because.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
There's just going to be all eyes on us. And
you're start You're opening the show for Manzillo Corey in
you in your big, beautiful mint colored suit, and.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I got to be wonderful and I was you were
closing the show.

Speaker 1 (00:58):
And you need to understand that the reason why a
Keel from Manzilla wanted Kip to close the show is
that he's been a massive fan of kIPS for like
twenty years and kind of here's your.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
Voice and it minds from a black panther.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
So he's created this extraordinary outfit just for you so
you can close his show.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
And I just the more I think about that and
the effort that's gone into the suit, the more terrible
I feel about yes, what happened yesterday, We'll just wait.

Speaker 2 (01:27):
Yeah, I'm doing everything I possibly can. Yeah, okay, well
everyone post we can and I will do what I
can to make you do this.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
Well, yesterday after school, I picked up Rafi from school
and he's been doing he's been playing touch footy before
school on Thursday mornings, and he said, Dad, I don't
want to do that anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I want to play basketball. And we've got a.

Speaker 4 (01:47):
Little three point hoop outside and so I was like, okay,
well you need to get some practice in.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Let's go downstairs.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Because Kip is that he still believes that there is
some chance in his life that he could become an
NBA player in.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Vegas one for the in Vegas he was remember he
was holding his pose.

Speaker 4 (02:05):
Yeah, well he was a real bast playing a game
in the pool. And something did come up to me
Corey and say, hey, are you a baller?

Speaker 2 (02:11):
And he said no, I am not.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
So I was showing Raffie's the hoops and.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
I tried a little turnaround jumper and that's where you
fake to the left and then I spun around and
shot and then it's a professional move and I faded
away and as I faded back. I got to the
edge of where the basketball court ends and the grass begins,
and there's a drop off of about ten centimeters and
so my ankle has hit that rolled and I've gone

(02:42):
down hard onto the grass, and I knew straight away
I've gone. I've done my ankle here like this is
a spraying at least.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
I don't know if you've broken.

Speaker 4 (02:50):
I don't know if I heard a snap, but I
left it for like an hour.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
I put ice on it and all that, and then that.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Was the sticks and stuff underneath you that maybe that
was that was a snap.

Speaker 4 (03:02):
That was the garden garden falling a dog pop anyway,
So then I ked it.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
And then at about ten o'clock or something like late last.

Speaker 4 (03:10):
Night because I text you guys, hey, guys, I've done
my ankle.

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Instead a photo.

Speaker 4 (03:14):
It was all getting swollen and I had to go
to an emergency to go like, I'm in some serious pain.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
So this morning, I'm in a moonboot. I've got crutches.
I can't walk. I can't stand on it.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
What do you mean you can't walk?

Speaker 3 (03:26):
I can't walk. I can't walk as cat.

Speaker 4 (03:30):
So I'm not so I don't I don't see how
I can possibly do the catwalk because I can't walk
just to the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (03:37):
Where there's a will, there's a way, that's what you want,
will find that way. You know what if it starts
off with well, we'll go to buddings, We're going to
tea spoon of cement and.

Speaker 4 (03:50):
What if it's what if cement doesn't you what if
it's proper because it's it's throbbing.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
I'll get onto my old physios because they work. Wonders,
magic fingers are those blokes.

Speaker 3 (04:01):
And tonight is the Nightshion Brisbane Fashion Festival. It's twentieth year,
the crescendo, the final show.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Yes, and this is such a big moment. People like
us and like you guys never walk the runway. And
yet the gift was given by Lindsay Bennett, who is
the director and founder to walk for Manzillo tonight.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
We've been taking it very seriously. It's like we've we've
had you know, walk training, We've we've been we've been
going in. We got we've got fitted with these amazing
suits from Manzilla, the suits spectacular.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Corey. You are set to open the show. I was
going to close the show. Do the final walk.

Speaker 4 (04:42):
Last night was actually yesterday afternoon. I was playing basketball
with the RAFFI my little boy, and I rolled my
ankle and I cannot put any weight on it at all.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
I'm in a moonboot with crutches this morning.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Yes, so we have to get Lindsay up to talk
through what we are going to do.

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Hey Lindsey, Hey there guys.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
Sorry mate, I'm I'm so sorry to create stress on
a day like today.

Speaker 6 (05:08):
Look, it's disappointing that you're hurt, hurt your leg, but mate,
not happy. Jan An understatement. Yeah, I've got better words.
You know.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
I know what you want to say, because Corey has
been saying it a lot about.

Speaker 6 (05:23):
I've been doing it for you listen. So this is
what we've decided. We've locked everything in on the production.
There's nothing can change there. So I've been talking to
a kill and we've got here and his team. They
have now madly making auderations to keep suit look. And
it's fortunate that they're bespoke Taylors, so they've got an
extra five minutes material. It's already been pulled apart and

(05:46):
they're working on redoing it. So what we're going to do,
Corey you're going to open and close. We'll have a
team aggresses to help you make the change you've got.
You know, Bernie's going to take you through the choreography
and you'll have approximately two minutes and twenty seconds to
get out of your first outfit into your second outfit.
I know it's going to be tight, but we have
got a great team here that will make it happen.

(06:08):
Just wear some good under with it as you'll be
standing there.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
The reason why we've gone deathly silent is Corey has
is lost for words, which is the first ever.

Speaker 5 (06:20):
And he's now giving Kip the finger.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
That's an extended finger. He's been giving me the figure
for a minute now.

Speaker 6 (06:26):
You haven't got a camera on me.

Speaker 2 (06:30):
I'll fix that way after this you choice.

Speaker 6 (06:36):
Look but again, mate, as I said at the very
beginning of this experience, no Zoolander moments, but that old
show show added you know, never work with children or
animals really has to be changed. It never worked with radio.

Speaker 5 (06:48):
Present children and animals.

Speaker 6 (06:52):
Still you, so when you tonight have a little discussion elaining.

Speaker 5 (07:04):
I thought it was a great idea.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
Grow up and actual.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
On I'm sorry, yes there is over.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Producers were saying before that, can't you just be an
absent father? Why do you have to play with your children?
Leave them alone?

Speaker 6 (07:23):
Well, you know what, it's the only thing that's gone
wrong in the festival this week. You know we can
handle it. But yeah, look it will be fine. And
you know, Corey, we're going to make it work for you.
We're here to help you and to yeah, I can't
think of it. Think of a better way to close
off this year's Brisbane Fashion first one and to have
you walked that runway twice.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
Yeah, okay, thank you, You're a legend, Corey. Okay, you're
gonna be great.

Speaker 5 (07:52):
He's got two and a half minutes to get changed.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
To kill you. I'm sorry, I'm really sorry.

Speaker 4 (08:01):
I've rolled my ankle and uh and now Corey, we're
finding out is going to have to walk twice.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
There. They're basically change altering the suit right now.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
Manzillo are literally a bespoke suit creators and so they
are now I mean this this suit was worked on for, like,
I feel, all seven people for thirty five days, so
they can now alter it fit to fit Corey.

Speaker 5 (08:27):
But I mean, you were pretty silent.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
That's a lot of extra room you know difference.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Yeah, we had Lindsay Bennett, who's the festival director on
and that's what he's told us is going to happen.
And that's fine because this is absolutely his gig. You
are very quiet, which is highly out of character for you.

Speaker 5 (08:45):
What do you really think about this anger?

Speaker 2 (08:49):
There's a lot of anger, but then it kind of
puts me into like my the old athlete made under pressure,
So you've got to perform.

Speaker 5 (08:58):
I guess so you're angry at him?

Speaker 3 (09:00):
I was really I will be.

Speaker 5 (09:03):
You laugh a lot For a guy who's angry for
a long.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Time, I know it's more now Okay, well I don't
want to let a Kiel down because he's put a
lot of.

Speaker 3 (09:12):
Time and effort in.

Speaker 5 (09:13):
So he's the designer from Yeah, so yeah.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Your face, your face has been red for like ever
since Lindsay.

Speaker 7 (09:23):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
When they actually perform an under pressure and foot you're like, yeah,
I've been doing this for a long time, so I'm confident.

Speaker 5 (09:30):
So this really is the origin.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
Yeah, it's just that, you know, Reesey Walsh has had
to stand aside.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Yeah, chance, she's done himself a mischief.

Speaker 4 (09:42):
Now, Kim believe for Birkdale, he's on the on the
phone thirteen one six five.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
If ever you want to get involved with the show,
what do you.

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Want to say to Corey Kim?

Speaker 7 (09:50):
Well, look, I just wanted to say, I'm really sorry
you've injured yourself kid, and that is horrible. But I
really think you've manifested this, mate. You think so anxious
about it since I've heard about it, and I think
you've just manifested this now and you've accidently.

Speaker 4 (10:08):
It was a turnaround jump shop basketball. I didn't see
the edge of the concrete and I just rolled it.

Speaker 7 (10:15):
You know, I'm really sorry, mate, but you've been so
You've been so anxious all week, and I just think
Cory's going to smash it, because thank you do you
just trap your boots on and you get out there
and you do your best.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Yes, I agree exactly.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
Right now, we have another special guest joining us now,
your lovely wife, Tea.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
He's on the phone.

Speaker 6 (10:34):
Hello, how are you?

Speaker 2 (10:37):
I'm good?

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Are you?

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Are you surprised that you didn't you didn't know that
you're married to a model?

Speaker 6 (10:42):
I know what.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I thought, that's twelve foot I was wasting it, model.

Speaker 7 (10:49):
I know you should have been from the get go it.

Speaker 3 (10:52):
Has he been practicing his walk around the house?

Speaker 7 (10:54):
Takes yeah, in the kitchen with a pair of tongs.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
He walked straight down with tongs.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
He's been quitting pretty quiet though, just like the last
five minutes. I say, since Lindsay said he's got to
open and close, what does that usually mean when Corey
goes quiet.

Speaker 7 (11:14):
I think there's a bit of a thought process going on.
He did text me and he said, I think I've
actually got to take this serious now. So I think
he might be a little bit anxious, but he'll be fine.

Speaker 5 (11:24):
He'll be fine, and well we'll be there. Why we'll yeah,
well me to look at me.

Speaker 3 (11:30):
I'll sit with you guys now and we watch him, watch.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Him give in the disabled a.

Speaker 7 (11:39):
Chair.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
All right. Well, I think he's going to need your
help today.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
You are consensed, there's a stress, there's anger.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
So if you can try and talk him down for
us a bit.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Of a pep talk and give him a bit of
a pep talk.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
Thanks mate.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Now, we've had some amazing calls from people today's you know,
saying the show mask go on, like wa, do you
we need to talk to Brian again later on the
show because his.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Happened to him.

Speaker 5 (12:06):
Yeah, he got him paled and nearly died.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
But the way he tells the story and what actually
happened is extraordinary.

Speaker 5 (12:16):
Yes, but not.

Speaker 3 (12:18):
The person that saw his wound pass down.

Speaker 4 (12:21):
So we're going to get to that later on the
show because it was just too impressive. We also had
Corey when when you saw me come in this morning
on crutches and the moon boot, Kelsey.

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Our social media, but I didn't know you recording was rolling. Yeah,
you had some choice words, but he.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
He's not done with the army rattled. I hope they
make me push you down. And but you're an idiot.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
You so you already knew that beach.

Speaker 4 (12:53):
So much. And we spoke to to Lindsay Bennett, the
organizer of the fashion festival, and they have been up
in the early hours trying to work out what they're
going to do.

Speaker 6 (13:04):
What we're going to do. Corey, You're going to open
and close, and you'll have approximately two minutes and twenty
seconds to get out of your first outfit into your
second outfit. I know it's going to be tired, but
we have got a great team here that will make
it happen.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Corey is lost for words, which is the first ever.
And he's now giving Kip the finger.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
It's an extended fingers. Give it a figure for a minute,
now twice. So come on over here, Corey and what
we need.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
What you also need to understand is that Manzilla are
currently altering the suits because obviously Kip and Corey are
different sizes. So Corey has been desperate all morning to
have a look at this ankle. So we've got Corey
over on the other side, keeps in a moonboot that
is taking off.

Speaker 3 (13:49):
He's going to gently assess what's going on.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
He's now taking off the moon boot.

Speaker 5 (13:59):
Okay, so he's got a sock.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Try to put some socks on it to give it
because I didn't have that's two socks. Yeah, there's another one.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Okay, you had a good that looks better.

Speaker 5 (14:15):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
So he's got he's got a bandage around it.

Speaker 3 (14:18):
Yeah, yeah, a lot swollen.

Speaker 5 (14:20):
So where did you do the injury? Which foot?

Speaker 3 (14:23):
It's my right foot and it feels like it's sort
of just below you to buy some my tape.

Speaker 4 (14:28):
I know.

Speaker 3 (14:28):
I had to use a band aid and it's pretty young.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
He used a band aid to secure the bandage. Now
Corey is unwrapping.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
I put a lot of bandage on their sort of
physio do it once.

Speaker 5 (14:38):
I thought that's a good idea. So yeah, now looking
at the wound, can you pull back?

Speaker 3 (14:49):
Yeah? Yeah, I can do all that. What it's I
can I can spin it around. Actually, I'm going to
kill you. It's fine, id at all. Now the whole
things stick.

Speaker 5 (15:06):
Give me. I'm fine.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
I'm walking you.

Speaker 1 (15:14):
All.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Cory is.

Speaker 2 (15:19):
Played basketball.

Speaker 1 (15:20):
We literally just got Corey for the whole morning. He's
now hit himself in the head with his head.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
I'm sorry, I'm happy if I'm mad. There's been so
many emotions for you today.

Speaker 2 (15:34):
My soul left my body.

Speaker 3 (15:36):
He said, I'm going to do it twice. Oh I'm fine. Oh,
my soul was gone.

Speaker 5 (15:44):
He destroyed coyoats his soul.

Speaker 1 (15:46):
He's played how many games to the Broncos and you
were the two his soul.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
As soon as he said that, I was I'm going
to get into the serious man.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Yeah, we've just punked you, my friend.

Speaker 7 (15:58):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
It was funny that we spoke about three year old
and I've been punked by fifty year old.

Speaker 5 (16:08):
And Lindsay was in on it. Okay, well done, everyone,
has been in on it.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Well done.

Speaker 5 (16:14):
You need to call off your physio.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Thank you organizing the physio and is it working anyway? Okay?

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Are you okay?

Speaker 2 (16:23):
I'm good now. I hope you fall
