Speaker 1 (00:00):
And can I say my parents gave such a wonderful
example on how to stay together? Yeah, they just you know,
they they had tough times, They went through businesses that failed,
they moved into state. All these things happened, and yet
they were strong and solid and gave me such a
wonderful example about how to do it. And then and
yet I screwed it up twice.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Sylvia, Hello, good morning, Robin. How are you good?

Speaker 3 (00:26):
How long have you and been married for?

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Fifty one years? Fifty one? Wow? And got engaged after
we'd met to ten days? Right?

Speaker 1 (00:36):
That's right, god Dad. Because Dad didn't muck around. He
asked you the question really quickly, didn't you mind?

Speaker 3 (00:42):
And how soon after that did you get married?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
Wo? That like if you if your kids came to
you and said, I've just met someone ten days ago,
we want to get married in two months, you tell
them they're insane, wouldn't you? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:55):
Absolutely, We're not an example.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
But you are fifty one years lady, you absolutely are.
And Kip and I have got five weddings between her.
So tell me about this conversation you had with Kip
just before his first wedding to Leanne.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, I do remember he was nervous. I was trying
to figure out was it.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, oh you're hearing something. What's happening?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
Man?

Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Sorry, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I don't know something something strang to just happen. Yeah,
so you do you remember, do you remember that conversation
we had on the morning?

Speaker 2 (01:31):
I totally do.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
What's going on?

Speaker 2 (01:35):
I totally do. I remember that you were quite freaked out,
perfectly honest. Yeah, And looking back, I think I should
have been probably able to say stronger things like yeah,
if you're not sure, get out, you know, But at
the time, you get all caught up in the event.
You know, the event's happening. Parents are flying over from

(01:57):
over over parts of Queensland.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Is your parents free from Queensland?

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Per my mom and dad? Everyone's coming, and it's all
built up. But there was there was definite and feelings
of either pre wedding jitters or there was just genuine doubt.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Because I look back at that moment and I remember it.
I remember that being a moment that I should have
recognized that you said you don't have to do this,
and I remember thinking that's very unlike you to say
something like that.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah. Yeah, so I was obviously feeling that you were
not sure.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Yeah, So was that just an instinctive mother son thing
where you just went, I'm just going to say this,
or did you have to talk yourself into actually giving
yourself permission to do that because it's a big deal.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Yeah, it was scary, scary talk because mom.

Speaker 1 (02:43):
Doesn't give you her opinion on things much. It's a
nightmare trying to pick. Like if if you're building a house,
trying to pick tiles with Mum, she's like, oh, that's nice.
Well that's nice too. I also like that one. She
doesn't give you a strong opinion. So that for Mom
to say maybe you shouldn't do this was a really
strong suggestion for you, wasn't it.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yeah? It was sign I missed miss So.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
At the end of it all, did you say I
told you so.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I tried not to.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah, you thought you thought.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Fair enough. Well, I'm sorry that I haven't taken your
example and that I didn't listen to you. Then mom,
who knows?

Speaker 3 (03:18):
But U Okay, Kip marries again because we all think Naomi.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Is the best I am for.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
It and this one I work, won't it?

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Sylvia is good?

Speaker 1 (03:30):
This is a keeper?

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Now she hasn't said that the keeper.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
This is good.

Speaker 1 (03:35):
There you go, No no pressure you Rob, Yeah, what
about you too? Thanks mam. She's up for of course
she is.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
She isn't she wasn't you know?

Speaker 1 (03:48):
She was very vocal about the other first, that's true.

Speaker 3 (03:52):
I don't know about the second.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I'm just straying a yeah, I'm trying to remember that.
