Speaker 1 (00:00):
Robin Terarian Kip on Brisbane's Kiss ninety seven to three
as Robinntari and Kip on Kiss ninety seven three seven twelve.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
So last night, Robin, had been your first night without
the boys.

Speaker 3 (00:12):
Yes, so this is the weirdest thing. Like, I am
a true extrovert, and I've known for a number of
months that all three of my boys were heading off
overseas on a massive, big adventure. And that happened at
two point fifty on what morning was it, yes, Thursday morning?

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yes, so I was.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
There was a lot of anticipation and sort of trepidation
going into being at home last night. I thought this
is going to be so odd. I've been a solo
parent for nearly ten years. They've been around a lot.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:39):
Yeah, and even like when you got home yesterday, would
normally one of them be there.

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Yeah, from walking use.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
They've been working from home since COVID, and so there's
been some things that I didn't anticipate, both good and bad. So,
for example, whenever I leave the house, I always make
sure that the kitchen's like spotless, and every time, without fail,
when I come home from work, there is always dish
in the scene. And then I got home yesterday, I
was like, there's no dishes. Oh my god, that's so exciting.

(01:07):
I didn't have to walk around the house in the
middle of broad daylight turning off lights and air conditioners
that have been forgotten. The amount of times I have
hidden air conditioner controls because they will not turn it off,
like I buried them in the safe it's too hot.
There were some other odd things like I've always been

(01:27):
quite a light sleeper and I'll hear noises in the
night and think it's just a kid coming home.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
And then I thought it's not oh a bit scary that.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
Well, I've got I've got a dog that's been registered
by Brisbane City Council as a dangerous dog, so no
one is.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Getting close to me.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
So I felt that was good, but it was weird.
So and then going oh, what is that? You know
when you just dismiss it normally and you're just saying, oh,
that's just a kid coming home, and I'm like.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Hey, I know, it's so noisy.

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I went out to dinner with some girlfriends and we
finished really early and at Chapel Hill at cheg my
tie and usually I go to bask and Robins and
buy a massive tub of ice cream that gets finished.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
And I literally walked.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Into bask and Robins and went, I don't need to
do that. No one's going to eat the ice creamy and.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Get a cup.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
So what I'm learning is that I'm actually quinde enjoying it.
I'm not minding it. I mean, ask me in a week,
as I said, as a true extra it, I'm.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Going to save so much mummy. Yeah, the dryer will
not go endlessly. Oh yeah, you know, like your power
bill just in general is just.

Speaker 3 (02:32):
Going to be my fooit bill, Like everything about my
life is just And then I sat back and I thought,
you know, for those people who have custody arrangements like you,
I mean, if you're living alone, I mean minus Naomi
did you would have had times where Raffi left and
you're like.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Oh my gosh, I'm here and because of my hours,
I'm home alone a lot.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Yeah. So yeah, because Nomi Offen when I get home
till seven o'clock.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
So the days that Raffi's not there, the first day,
it's so quiet and it's great for for that first day.
That first day is like, oh how nice is it
you and your kitchen stays relatively clean.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
I'm the only one making mess there's there's not a
trick in the middle of the pantry for no reason.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But then day two it's like the silence is deafening. Yes, yeah,
you're like, ah, I wish someone, I wish I had
someone a little fun machine around here.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Wait till they start school.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
It takes a transition, I reckon, I have a good
couple of weeks to get used to the fact that
this is the new part of your life. But seriously,
thirteen one oh sixty five, some of the great things
about being alone I want to make a list tim
of Indra Pilly.

Speaker 5 (03:35):
What have you got morning, Robin? How are you? Yes,
I'm the same as you, shared custody, but my daughter's
a bigger English's ten and still in school. But a
couple of good things that our found out is that
you finally get a good night sleep.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Yeah, yes, yeah, no one's coming, and you've got no visitors.

Speaker 5 (03:56):
Yes that's it. And you finally get to that to
binge watch all the TV shows, the movies without getting.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
Interrupted TV is an awesome Well you're going to have to.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
You can stop watching that silly whatever that bus show
thing was that you were trying to tell us yesterday.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Sun watchest baby Bus.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Yeah, you're right. I long missing baby Bus when he's
not around. Kao stays on NonStop because there's going to
be a game soon anyway. Exactly.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
You guys been sports on the.

Speaker 1 (04:23):
Weekend and you're going to have thirteen one six fives
our number. What's the best thing when you're home alone?
I was talking about the joys of being home alone
the best things on thirteen one o six five.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
I thought I'd hate it, I thought, as a true extrovert.
That was while I was trying desperately to get a boyfriend.

Speaker 4 (04:39):
Sis.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
That's how much I thought I would be terrified. If
I could just, you know, have a plaything, I won't
care it didn't work.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Out, and it's working out fine.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Well it's working out fine on my own. But I
just want a list because this is a chance, those
moments when you're finally alone. What is the greatest thing
that can ever happen?

Speaker 2 (04:56):
Hailey out of Eaton's Hill, what's the best thing?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
This is a bit selfish of me.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
I only do this now when my kids.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
Aren't home or the husband.

Speaker 6 (05:05):
Really is my baking so I can lick the ball
on the beat it and I don't want.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
To share that.

Speaker 6 (05:13):
Have any of the goods at the end, Yeah, they
can eat it.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
At the end, of course, I think like and that's
part of it too. I want them to see the
end result, not the you know, the step by step
and god damn it. I mean, don't you just go
back to your childhood licking that beat take? Yeah, that's
so true.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Thirteen one, six fives out number.

Speaker 6 (05:36):
Robin, just confirming people can see into your house from
the river, caren't they?

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Well sometimes, well you probably shouldn't do what Tan is doing. Then, okay,
we'll find out next.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Right after Marley Cyrus, robun Terry and Kip Kisses ninety
seven to eight.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Talk about the best thing about being home.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Alone Tanya of strath Pine. What's a great thing about
being alone?

Speaker 6 (05:52):
Oh my gosh, Robin, enjoy every single moment I the
teenager again, get naked, play the music and enjoy it.
I'm forty seven and I'm back with my elderly parents
and a twelve year old. So those rare moments I
get the house to myself, not having lights to turn
off from a twelve year old and tipping over school
bags and make up in the bathroom. A bathroom that
is the biggest thing to I share a bathroom a

(06:13):
twelve year old daughter. It's more makeup and product than me.
Joy well, honestly, trust me. Mom and dad just got
back last night after being away for a week, and
I'm like, oh, just enjoy it all. I can say
every moment you can.

Speaker 3 (06:27):
Do you seriously, walk around the house naked.

Speaker 6 (06:30):
Oh, look the tweetles, do the noody run from your
bathroom to your bedroom without getting caught from your daughter
or your father.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, it's well, you know, never lose that. It's also
the perfect way to get a teenager to move out
of house.

Speaker 6 (06:44):
I'm not try but my little one already told me
she's not going anywhere, so I'm like, oh, here we are.
We're stuck forever. But anyway, just enjoying. And obviously I'm
a chef by train, and i work an office now,
so I'm doing all the cooking duties and the cleaning
and just being able to just have a couple of
suits for dinner and I can do the bit man
dinner of meat and redg all the time.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
That is going to be so true. I can have
Natella on tos and there'll be Natella left.

Speaker 6 (07:08):
Make sure the biggest trick is get one of your
little robot rauccuums. Have the rucuum, always wat it away,
press that on, watch the telly and it does all
the work for you and no one has.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
The mop on it. There you go.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
