We've all been there... you go to do something nice for a friend’s kid then it hits... was that the right thing to do?!
This was the dilemma Robin faced at River Fire over the weekend.

Good Day. I hope I'm not going to get into
trouble for this, or even get wrapping into trouble your
six year old. So Saturday night was Riverfire and we
were all lucky enough to be invited to the flight
center deck, which is right next to the emporium. It's
such a great space to watch the planes almost at
eye level. Yeah, amazing, and you know, they put on
food and drinks and it was really fun. And I know, Corey,

you were next to the emporium which was similar kind
of view, so you weren't there, so maybe your kids
would have been involved in this. But what unfolded was
they had like huge food and dessert bars and they
had an open for drinks, yes, and so the kids
were getting quite hyper.
Speaker 3 (01:14):
Oh yea because they had literally a lolly station, so
they kids area. Yeah, just kids were just grabbing handfuls
of chocolate. Fond loved it. It was the best.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
It was really fun and there's a big dance floor
and anyway, so the kids were getting a bit hyper.
And we also had our boss, Ali and her eight
year old Rosie, and she so, Rosie and Raffi were
playing together and they were getting pretty full on, and
I said, look, why didn't I go and take them
to get some water just to kind of calm down.
And there were two servers at the bar, and I

said to one of them, can I grab some water please? Meanwhile,
Raffi had gone to the other server and said he
wanted a sprite, right, and got given a sprite. And
I'm like, I'm thinking this is not a good idea.
So I'm saying, I'm saying to Raffie, are you allowed
to have that sprite? And he's going, yeah, there's no problem, Dad,
lets me have it all the time. A look, And

so then I'm thinking, poor Rosie who's eight and trying
to do the right thing, And I'm saying, Rosie, do
you are you allowed to have sprite?
Speaker 4 (02:17):
She said, I'll just.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Have to go on us.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
Mum, good girl.
Speaker 1 (02:20):

So I'm now thinking I can't walk back with one
kid with a sprite and the other kid with no sprite,
and I'm going to be in trouble regardless. Yes, So
then I said to Raffie, Hey, mate, can you hold
these waters for me? Because it's for Daddy and mummy
and wla, and I am going to take the sprite.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
He gave it very begrudgingly here, not happy to give
me the sprite. And so then we walked back to
the table and I put it down, and I said,
is Raffie allowed to have sprites?

Yea? So tell me what went on there.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Well, I already gave him a juice, so I said,
at the start of the night, you can have one
bad what do you want? So I gave him a
juice and that was it, and that's his sugar limit.
Plus I'd watching Nylon snakes and other chocolates. I knew
he was already wild. It was already you lying on
his back. At one stage I saw him through a
window because I lost sight of him. I just saw
him lying on his back and then kicking with his legs,

just sliding on his back along the floor like thirty meters,
just like he was a duster.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
So he was he was.
Speaker 3 (03:25):
There's no way that I would have let him have
that spride.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
But as she was walking back with me, he's like, Dad,
lets me have sprite. Dad, lets me have sprot And
I'm like, can we ask dad? He's going, don't they
just Dad? Meanwhile, like this, Rosy had run ahead and

So she came and asked me. She said, RAFFI has
a sprite? And Robin got RAFFI a spite? May I

It's a very safe area. He was having a lot
of fun and he's not allowed to have spry and
you know he lies to people about that all and time.
Like who was looking? Someone was looking from the other morning.
It wasn't my mom and dads. My thing was my sister.
And she said, Rafi said that you let him have
chocolate first thing in the morning.

Well, I you know, I like pleasing your sister. I'm like, yeah,
I just I don't want to be the bad guy here,
but I also don't want to be responsible for this
kid having him high pay.
Speaker 3 (04:55):
He's convincing. Hey, look you're right in the eye. Oh yeah, no,
I'm allowed to have chocolate. Oh yeah, absolutely, that says yeah.

Well so much so that Rosie said that i'd given.
