Speaker 1 (00:00):
They came bounding over. What's a procedure?

Speaker 2 (00:09):
This is Roden Gabby versus the world.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
I don't know if we've ever spoken about this. You're
so light on your feet, You're so it's unbelievable.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
That's scar you know every morning, and so it's.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Like having a ninja around and you just I just
turn in your There was literally I just you know,
made a cup of tea and I turned around. You
lucky that you know we didn't end up with tea
everywhere because you're literally just like an inch away from
my face, and because you've got because you've got new
runners today, but only you're quieter than ever. You're faster
than ever.

Speaker 3 (00:44):
Yeah, I'm so fast because they're hot pink. They make
me faster. No, I'm really excited about my new Runners.
I've been saving up for them for what because runners
are really expensive, Like they're so expensive. And I also
knew that I was seeing my pediatist a few months ago.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Is this like when you went Nick loss On when
we interviewed Craig David, Are you like I need to
make a good impression diet.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
I already saw him, but I was saving out my
money and I didn't want to buy new runners until
I'd spoken to the foot doctor because I needed to
make sure I was getting the right ones for my feet,
because I've spoken before. After pregnancy, my feet were whacky
as hell and they were really sore, and I've had
plan of fasci artists in the past, so I wanted
to make sure I was getting the right runners for me.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
Did they give you like a shortlist or something?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I went and saw I went
and saw Ricky at the Walking the Walking Clinic in
Lne them and he did the whole thing like he
did so many technical tests on my feet and he
was like, all right, these are the runners for you,
and you've got to look for this kind of support
and you need just a little bit of support because
you've got high archers and blah blah blah blah blah,

(01:48):
and he went through all of it right, And so
I went and he sent me to the athlete's foot
because he's like, they know, they know what they're doing.
So I go to the athlete's foot and I'm like,
all right, these are the runners I need. Show me
what you've got. And they pulled up all the colorways
of those assex, and I was like, I hate them all.
Give me the hot pink nighties, right, And so the

(02:10):
nikes are not what you need. I'm like, oh, well, to.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
Waste a time going to the pediatrist, you could have
just gone to the outlet center. And I always feel
guilty because I go, well, I got to save the buck,
I'm going to the outlets. And in the back of
my mind, I'm like the athletes foot guys wouldn't prove
of it is you're going to walk on the theme where
they scan the soul your foot.

Speaker 3 (02:29):
And they told me exactly what I needed, and I
disregarded all advice and I bought these nikes that have
zero support but they look.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Good and they're fast and they're quiet.

Speaker 3 (02:39):
They're fast, but they're going to destroy my feet. I
I got home with my husband's like, they're not the
ones you were told to buy. I'm like, I am aware.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Yeah, there's no part where the end of the story
makes sense.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
So Rod and Gabby versus the world.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
Two kinds of people in this world, Barbie movie people
and people who got angry at the Barbie Movie people.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
That's true.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
Levitating dua lipa from the Barbie Movie I think it's
an important thing that we ask while searching for.

Speaker 3 (03:15):
Love does show deep values and morals depending on which
side of the fence you are.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, you don't want to have that type of division
straight out of the gate when you're on a speed date.
It's Rod and Gabby. It's it one o four point seven,
fourteen minutes to eight o'clock nineteen later on six degrees now,
and we're doing this. We are going to find love
this Friday night.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Roden Gabby's white La left or white right? Thanks to
Waves car wash.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
You to Waves, let them know you're a hit one
oh four point seven fan, and.

Speaker 3 (03:47):
You'll get a seventy five dollar car wash for ten bucks.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
All right, let's go to Googong for our first recruit.
Perhaps overwhelmed by the response so many people looking for
love in the car, just Sinder and Google on good morning,
Good morning. You don't want to be with a guy
that didn't like the Barbie movie, right?

Speaker 4 (04:07):
I mean, I don't care if I liked it or
if they didn't like it, but they have to have
good taste in movies.

Speaker 1 (04:11):
I guess what if they're vehemently opposed to it?

Speaker 4 (04:14):
M I guess it's not a deal breaker.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
You Okay, all right? This is good?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Are your deal breakers good?

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Good question?

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Yeah. I don't know if I'm picking or not. I
just said, like someone who doesn't smoke all baps because
I'm not into that. I I think it's quite disgusting.
Smart but no, no, I'm not too fussy ed say
I don't like smokers.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Nice.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
What are your like boxes that you'd like to tick?

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Probably someone who's just like down to earth, family oriented, love.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Dogs kind just sinder. You sound like a lovely person.
You're not. You don't have crazy deal breakers like the
Barbie movie. This is you would be a problem for me.
And you've I've been searching for love for how long
since your last relationship?

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (05:04):
About four or five years?

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Who are these Who are these bozos?

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Is that what you're gonna say?

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Look, don't put it rightly?

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Are you? Are you? Are you choosing the wrong guys?
What's going on out there?

Speaker 4 (05:16):
I don't know. I think I just I'm actual with
people who don't want to commit, Like I'm still over
dating apps because past of the time you just end
up getting ghosted, or you want people that are in
it for fun.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
Do you find that because dating apps, it's so easy
to move on to the next that people find it
hard to you know, knuckle down and commit.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
Most definitely because there's so many options out there.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Yeah, are people are blokes? Are they intimidated by your job?

Speaker 4 (05:46):
I don't know. Sometimes I tell them what I do
and you get ghosted or they're a bit Oh you
might make more money than me.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
It's yeah, it's worth mentioning your job as a corrections officer.
And so it sounds hot to me. But if I'm
a crook straight away, I'm out someone.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
It doesn't have a criminal history straight away.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
Oh yeah, i've met you, no red flag?

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Has that ever happened? Have you ever been on the apps?
And then you've met a guy and gun? And a
second I remember you from sell twenty eight?

Speaker 4 (06:16):
No nod.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
So you're not picking the worst. I mean, by the way,
we are quite I understand that we're listening to a
lot at the corrections facility and good morning. You know
you're on the road to recovery and things. I'm not
judging anybody, but.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Dating someone who is your correction officer probably is hot.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
You're right, but you can't you can't do that. Just
just Sinda will tell you can't do that. Well, just
you sound lovely, Gabby. Do you know enough to try
and pair just Cinda if we can find the right match.
I'm still keen on finding a guy that's into the
Barbie movie, but you know it's not a deal break. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
What kind of dog do you have? What do we talk?
You said you love dogs, but what kind of you?

Speaker 4 (06:57):
I've got a Mini Retriever, So he's gone recross King Charles.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Oh cute, beautiful.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
We've got one blue owne, one brown eye.

Speaker 1 (07:05):
It shows a long hair and shows that you are
you know, you're an active owner. There's a lot of
brushing and grooming that needs to go into that sort
of breed.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
Right, Oh my god, tell me about it. That's very loses.

Speaker 1 (07:16):
Okay, okay, so you know all these things they add
up to. Well, let me tell you. If you're a
guy and you're looking for some for a relationship, if
you're serious about it, you pay attention to that type
of personality trait.

Speaker 3 (07:29):
Yeah, put the effort in.

Speaker 1 (07:31):
All right, we're going to find a fantastic guy for you.
Just into no pressure on.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Us, thank you. I have faith, all right.

Speaker 1 (07:37):
Good Gabby? You feel confident.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
I feel confident. Well, we haven't looked at the other
applicants yet, as in the male applicants.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
But well it's definitely out of my comfort zone, that's
for sure. I don't do this stuff normally.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
That's great because what's in your comfort zone hasn't been working,
so you've got to step.

Speaker 4 (07:51):
Out of it, right, I know, I thought, why not
give it a go? What has it got to lose?

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Exactly?

Speaker 1 (07:57):
All right, Gabby, you feel even more pressure though.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I feel good about this.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
One, all right, good and optimistic, just in a You're
courageous for jumping on and then coming on the radio
talking about it too. I know we having found you,
but you've taken a deep breath. We really appreciate it.
Let's see if we can get this done on Friday
night and we will talk to you later in the week.

Speaker 4 (08:13):
No worries, thanks so much.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
Oh yeah boy, not just the talk of the capital,
but the talk of the NRL world. The Raiders Golden
Point win was just something the likes of which we've
never seen before. It was phenomenal and it got me thinking,
after the week that we'd had in the build up
to it, that perhaps there was more to it. You go, well,
I was just lucky. But then smart people say, you

(08:39):
make your own luck, and I thought about that. I
thought about a lot of the social media coverage in
the countdown to the game that we saw during the week,
and so I got that all together yesterday and I
put it into a tribute documentary, oh, a mini documentary
that the NRL said, take that down straight away, and

(09:00):
so obviously.

Speaker 3 (09:01):
Why are they mad about it.

Speaker 1 (09:02):
It's not what you think. It's obviously just a bit
of their footage in there. I've reached out to them.
We'll have it resolved before the day's out and you'll
be able to see it. However, they can't take it
down from hit one or four point seven. So we
get to take our first listen now before we take
a listen to this tribute documentary. A couple of things
to bear in mind. I thought initially YouTube was worried
about my use of AI. Okay, it's not that that's fine.
They're cool with that. Okay, perhaps the creative license were

(09:25):
at a certain point. After I reached out to Nathan Cleary,
but he didn't get back to me. I couldn't use him,
so I have to play the role of Nathan Cleary
in part of the documentary.

Speaker 3 (09:35):
Oh that's going to be complimentary.

Speaker 1 (09:37):
I'm sure it absolutely is. Oh it's I think it is. Oh,
you can judge for yourself. So none of those things
with the problem will resolve the little, you know, copyright
thing later on in the day. Okay, you ready for this. Okay,
this is the week wrapped up that led to one
of the great moments in NRL history. Here we go.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
On August thirteenth, tending a school book week parade, star
athletes from reigning champion NROL team the Penrith Panthers were
ambushed by a student disguised as a dinosaur. While teachers,
families and players unwittingly looked on, the student burst from
inside the costume to reveal he was in fact a

(10:19):
Canberra Raiders fan, the very team the Panthers were playing
the following night. The next morning, August fourteenth, media outlets
began reporting what was quickly becoming one of the most
legendary psych out moments in Australian's sporting history.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
But he was wearing the Riders jersey.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
I'm den. Later that day, while arriving at the game,
Canberra Raiders players recognized the Dinosaur Disguise kid in the crowd,
still wearing the Book Week costume that had landed the
team's first blow on the reigning champions Get in.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
The heads early foresight an altity record.

Speaker 2 (10:56):
But was Raider's hooker Tom starling Wright Dinosaur disguise kid
actually got in their heads early?

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Get well?

Speaker 2 (11:05):
We can actually find out. Utilizing Fox sports new Choose
your Own Commentary feature, we can select between the commentators,
the referee, or the player's brains to get a live
feed of what they are thinking live during play.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
The crystal ball, says Cleary, shot into the.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Set with the game tide and in sudden death overtime,
Let's switch to the brain of Panthers captain Nathan Cleary.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Okay, stay focus, knife and stay focus. Just go to
White to the boys, get me as class as possible,
and then slump the ball. Rot between the dinosaur disgussed kit,
I mean the dolls between I mean between the goals,
focus knife, and why are you still thinking about that
dinosaur disguised kid? Anybody kick the golf. We go hard.

(11:52):
Get it could not slay Unlike last night when you
couldn't stop thinking about that damn dinosaur disguised Oh shit,
he was dark, sad, straighten up to god. Damn. Can't
stop thinking about the dinosaur disguised kid. It was like
the story of the Trojan Horse. And I guess the
Greeks made the Trojans fall for that, so really, it

(12:13):
could happen to anyone. Do I think I'm better than
the Trojans? Because I'm not. And that's nothing to be
ashamed of. They think clearly the y spread of outcome.
I mean, where was his school universe? What's he doing
at school disguised as a dinosaur?

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Bloody bookwork?

Speaker 2 (12:31):
And so the story of the Canberra Raiders Dinosaur Disguised
Kid will live forever as a shining example of how
every fan is part of the team on game day.

Speaker 3 (12:44):
And there it is, and theerella like, no.

Speaker 1 (12:47):
Well that's a misseduppor chunity of your ass mate. It's
on the great It's one of the great stories in
footy history and in Canberra history.

Speaker 3 (12:54):
So how do we get him to be involved in
psyching out the opposition for the finals?

Speaker 1 (12:59):
We have Darth and now we have the dinosaur disguised Kid.
If we don't stop the ball, Roden Gabby versus the world?
How amazing was this moment when the local Ish girl
Done Good performed on the Voice last week. She's a
wha slowly and I might remind you if you're UMIs

(13:25):
and going, who was the originator of this? This is
a Richard Marx classic? In front of the judge, he's
a coach. Richard Marx has just turned the chair classy too.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
How can we say?

Speaker 1 (13:44):
Here we go? Wherevy you go?

Speaker 3 (13:49):
Leavy?

Speaker 4 (13:54):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (13:55):
I can only imagine, I mean the nerves, but also
being a natural performer, knowing what you're doing up there.
But then you look out and you see Richard Marks
the man you know who's going to go. I wouldn't
have done it like that, but instead he rubs his arms,
he goes, I have just got chills from your performance.
What's that moment like? Let's go to Kate Jamison now,
congratulations Kate. What was it like looking down there and

(14:17):
seeing Richard actually get chills from your version? Oh?

Speaker 5 (14:21):
Thank you so much. It was surreal, to say the least.
It was definitely quite nerve racking singing it to him,
but both out of my favorite end?

Speaker 3 (14:31):
What made you choose that song? Is that a song
that you've covered for a while and you thought that
that was your best and so that's what you brought
forward to Did you know that Richard Marx was there
and it was a challenge to sing that song in
front of him.

Speaker 5 (14:45):
No, I've actually never sang that song before.

Speaker 2 (14:47):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (14:50):
And it was kind of like when you're going on
the Voice, it's kind of like a joint decision. You
work with the producers to kind of find a song
that might be good for you, and we played that
song and then I shouldn't know that he was going
to be a coach, So when I found out, I
was like, oh my god.

Speaker 1 (15:08):
Would you know the producer who you worked with on
that would have known? Did you look at that producer? Hey?

Speaker 5 (15:14):
Hey yeah. I was like, oh, I want to stitch up.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
It was good in the end, yeah, because each other
worked out very well.

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I got to tell you you've been making headlines around
these parts because of Gabby's mum. Would you like to explain, Gabby,
I don't even know if you've heard about this couch.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
So my mum actually sent me the video of you
performing on the Voice, saying Bugundoor's own Kate Jamerson has
performed on the voice and I was like, what are
you talking about?

Speaker 1 (15:37):
Mom?

Speaker 3 (15:37):
So my mum organized the Bungandoor Country my staff for
a number of years with me growing up, and she
was like yeah, and she's like Kate Jamerson. She was
there performing as a kid and her dad used to
support me every year. He was the best. And she
was just going on about your family. So therefore Bungandor
has claimed you as our voice contestant.

Speaker 5 (15:58):
Oh my god, I actually did not know that. When
I was probably maybe ten or eleven. I think I
won the New Talent Award at the Bungandoor.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
Awards, did we We're pumping you right up. Do you
know the bung and Door Mayor, Kenrick, the mayor has
He's been posting about it as well, like your You're
fleeting time in Bungandor. Everyone's cashing right in and there

(16:28):
is talk of a welcome to bungendor Home of Caitlin
sign as you went to town.

Speaker 5 (16:35):
Oh my goodness, I did not know that. But I
love Bungandor. I haven't been there in ages, so well, your.

Speaker 3 (16:40):
Hometown is going to agree with us claiming you. But
we're doing it.

Speaker 1 (16:43):
I say, no pressure, but we are expecting you to
come back.

Speaker 5 (16:48):
I will one day.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
I will well together the Bugndoor Country muster back up
and running for you to come and be a part
of it again.

Speaker 5 (16:56):
Absolutely, I love to do you speaking.

Speaker 1 (16:59):
Of that win, you know, and when you were little,
I can only imagine. You know, there's there's trophies and
certificates and medallions and all those sorts of things. Do
you hang on to all that sort of stuff?

Speaker 5 (17:09):
Absolutely? Back home in Bouldercombe, where I originally from, I've
got a big trophy cabinet with everything from my primary
school swim carnival certificates to awards and stuff love that
me and my parents have got from music. So it's
pretty cool. There was a lot of memorabilia there.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
And yeah, you grew up in a very musical family.
Your your late dad was a very well known Australian
country music singer and your mum is an amazing instrumentalist.
So you've kind of taken bits from both parents and
managed to you know, play your own instrument You play
all of the instruments, so you can do that while singing.

(17:49):
Has that given you quite an advantage? Like I know,
some kids love to follow in their parents footsteps and
others often go the other way, but you seem to
really love it.

Speaker 5 (18:00):
Yeah, I was definitely very privileged to grow up with
that sort of childhood. Like I just thought it was
normal for every time school holidays rolled around, you'd go
traveling around the country and see the stuff. And then
none of my other friends did that, so yeah, it
was pretty cool. Definitely gave me a massive passion for
music and the following in their footsteps.

Speaker 4 (18:20):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (18:21):
Yeah, it's a unique life, and I think we find
an aspirational as on behalf of those of us that
don't have that talent or that ability. But those famous stories,
the Casey Chambers of the world, stories like the one
you're telling where yeah, you when you're not in a classroom,
although Casey didn't even do that because she was just
a full time gypsy, but traveling around the country and
playing and playing with your family too, there's something really

(18:43):
really special about it. We love the story. We hope
that it goes right the way through to the very end.
We're hearing for you yep back on Channel seven tonight
at seven point thirty, and we can't wait to a
go right the way through with you and then see
you back.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
In Bung and do absolutely I'll be back in violent,
I hope.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Caitlyn Jamison, thank you for the time. We'll chat again.

Speaker 5 (19:06):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 2 (19:10):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
