Speaker 1 (00:00):
On Canberras Hit one O four point seven. It's Roden
Gabby Throat.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Here is a question.
Speaker 3 (00:07):
This is a real question that you asked me this morning,
and I think as a city we can all work
out the answer.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
I hope we can.
Speaker 4 (00:13):
Yeah, I hope so too.
Speaker 3 (00:14):
Okay, give us the question that you're worried about yet,
a big You've went camping, you had a big road trip.
Speaker 2 (00:19):
Where'd you go?
Speaker 4 (00:20):
We just went to Woollongong for the weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Okay, yes, Wollongong for the weekend. A lot of time
in the car.
Speaker 4 (00:25):
Yeah, like three hours solid drive.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yeah, what's you worry?
Speaker 4 (00:28):
Okay? I am worried that he was politely trying to
tell me that I talked too much in the car
because we were just chatting and when we hadn't seen
each other.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
For a while.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
I just have a lot to say. I usually have
a lot to say. And this was a Friday afternoon
that we were driving down, so he'd worked all day.
I'd worked all morning, but I'd done a nap, so
I was like ready to go for the afternoon. I'm
talking a lot now, this is like pretty much what
was going on?
Speaker 2 (00:55):
What's the job?
Speaker 4 (00:56):
So it's and then we were just eating some lollies
and then Jared handed me a lolly and said, you
should try to see how long you can keep this
in your mouth for. I was like what He was like, yeah,
the show but.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Okay, okay, okay, great.
Speaker 4 (01:23):
Are you trying to tell me to stop talking like you?
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Did you think that would just say it out loud?
I did say it out loud, out loud? Was he
just he just well he just laughed.
Speaker 4 (01:32):
She just laughed and he was like no, no, yeah,
so he wasn't defanci but he just laughed. Yes, he
did laugh. So has the question been answered?
Speaker 2 (01:46):
How long can you keep this in your mouth for?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:50):
And then I Tewtor and I was like, I have
another story.
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Yeah, you're smart. I don't know what he's up to.
I don't know what he's doing. I don't know what
he's up to. Say.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
This is Ron Gabby wrapped on cameras on four point seven.
Speaker 3 (02:05):
And the winners of the Block, the only winners of
the Block joining us now after Channel nine's grand finale.
Britt and Taz, congratulations half a million bucks is all right?
Speaker 1 (02:17):
Right?
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Chelsey? Thanks so much much. Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 6 (02:22):
Amazing life changing for us.
Speaker 3 (02:24):
Yeah, how hard was the part where you know, you
jagged half a million? In Jagged, you earn half a
million bucks, But you were surrounded understandably by two couples
who are leaving with donuts and another two who really
relative to the work they put in in the time
and the energy and the emotion didn't leave with much
and so the vibe would have been low.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
How did you manage that?
Speaker 6 (02:46):
Oh, honestly, it was really hard, Like there was not
a dry eye in the room, you know, whilst everyone
was coming back from their option, Like it was half like,
as you said, everyone has worked so hard, everyone has
given up, you know, really six months of your life
to be here, because it's not just the three months
in the show. You've got lots of committment afterwards. So
for them not to get the result, you know, it's
just heartbreaking, Like it was really really bittersweet for us,
(03:09):
for us hard to fully enjoy this moment, to be fair.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Producer Chelsea and her boyfriend Jared, who is a trader,
He had a heartfelt conversation last night and it was
it was it was a moment, it was a landmark moment.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
In their relationship.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
And you asked Jared a very serious question, and he said,
I do. And the question was, do you want to
apply for the next season? What's your advisor?
Speaker 5 (03:31):
Jared?
Speaker 4 (03:32):
Right, don't don't tell him that.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
What are you reconds? After last night? Should they still
do it?
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Oh? I've last No, I feel a bit better for
seven weeks there, I was just a clown in high View.
I reckon that really made the most of them and blood.
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Yeah, it did seem tough. And but even like my
partner and we drive past houses of a similar design
that you guys have chosen and just let you guys know,
we do call them now the Britain Tas houses, So
it is a compliment. I love the design choices that
you guys chose. But I did hear in last night's
episode that you guys had bought a block of land
(04:18):
in Broom in w A. Are you guys going to
do anything with that now?
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (04:23):
Well we got the block of land. I was on
a footy trip and Britt called me up and said, oh,
this is block of land. Yeah, and it's pretty cheap,
like we should grab it. And I was like, you know,
I've had too many beers course grab it. But you know,
we've got money to build it on it. It was
hard work but it was a great spot.
Speaker 6 (04:38):
So we've had it for a year. But our plan
is to make it into a really beautiful Airbnb for
a place that week and enjoy as well as others.
So we'll probably try to start building on that early
next year.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
But it might be a bit different this design stock.
Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yeah, a little bit different, I think, so yeah, stay
chuting color maybe, yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
I do have a bit of color made the Britain
Taz style famous, So now you've got to commit to
like keeping it going.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
In fact, the last coppers that were on went and
did that. They we had the Twin Girls.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
This is about a decade ago and they won the
block and they quit the force and they went into
design and the whole thing full time. What are the
chances for you two?
Speaker 5 (05:16):
Yeah, I'm actually really looking forward to my design career
turn up every now and then as well. No, but
to hear it from world class, you know, I realized
that agents and interior designers that brick could have a
future in it, and you heard it all throughout the show.
So I think it's you know, you speak virgin to.
Speaker 6 (05:35):
One hundred percent. I think now it's open my eyes
that I can actually do this. So yeah, they tuned.
You'll definitely see some some more from us.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
Well, I'll be coming to you Britt for my when
ign on the tools the.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
Actually before we let you go test. It's a good point.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
Did you find as a bloke who's a very handy,
footy player in the waffle a copper that you show
up and everyone goes, yeah, he must know his way
around the tool shed?
Speaker 5 (06:01):
Absolutely absolutely I was, and I did, but yeah, no,
I absolutely did. Just absolutely smashed it.
Speaker 2 (06:09):
You know, good, very good.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Fake it until you make it and until you made
it half a million dollars. Well done to both of you.
What a great story. Congratulations. We appreciate the time this
morning and the busiest day of your lives. I hope
you get to enjoy it in the next week.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
We love you, Love you guys.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
Thanks guys, Thanks bye.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
This is Ron Gabby wrapped on camera sit on a
four point seven.
Speaker 2 (06:33):
Great Hello producer, Chelsea.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
Hello, welcome to you wherever you're joining us across the
Capitol or around Australia on the podcast. Gabby scheduled to
bounce back tomorrow, so we'll catch up with her, catch
up with her then, which is excellent. However, I've wondered
about this. Right the military have an ability to have
a special you know, sleep trick. They do, Yes, made
(06:58):
of Mine's a naval captain, he said, is just I
can be out in a moment, and for whatever reason,
I don't feel comfortable asking him to teach.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Me the trick. Good News producer Chelsea has the trick.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
Yes, I figured it out. It is a three step process,
which seems like a lot, but this actually can get
you to sleep in two minutes.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
It can take three steps in two minutes.
Speaker 4 (07:23):
I think my mind would just go to thinking about
it too much, which means that I wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
Just when the military thought they had it all worked
out they met producer Chelsea.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
I'm over analyzing it. I'm like, this isn't working.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
What do they've discovered the one exception? So with the
exception of you, and there's a very good chance me
a famous overthinker, the military, however, they can do this.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
They can do this. So Step one is progressive muscle relaxation,
so contracting and relaxing the muscles in your face's, shoulders,
and arms before moving down the rest of your body. Yep,
Rod's doing it. He's about to fall asleep.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Well, that is the danger me playing this out might
result in a problem.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
The next step is to control your breathing, so more
slowed and controlled rather than emphasizing longer. And then also
step three is visualization, so visualizing that you're in a
calm environment such as floating on calm water or laying
a quiet field.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I'm with you, I'd still be doing that mental check
on myself to see how I'm going, thus taking myself
out of those moments and waking myself up. And the
part that they've left out is, you know military guys
and girls, they're tired.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
They're working hard. This is what we're doing, not hard.
I we're not working apart from the waking up early
in the morning part. Very If you're awake right now,
you know what I'm talking about.
Speaker 1 (08:49):
This is Roy rapped on cameras four point seven.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Ashley Nolan from the newsroom joins, us, I mentioned it
too long ago.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Let's get the update.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Quest to Calm for grown ups is here.
Speaker 7 (09:03):
Yes, that sounds so fun. So on Friday they're having
a Halloween party and it's just for adults. Yes, so
they've got all kinds of fun things happening. A monster
lab where you can make your own monster. Dr Frankenstein fantastic,
(09:24):
some spooky science talks, liquid a liquid Fright region show.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
They themselves.
Speaker 4 (09:39):
Seen neither.
Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, you don't need to wait for the fact that
this is the grown up version. Throw any time and
you'll love it.
Speaker 4 (09:49):
It's on the list of things to do.
Speaker 3 (09:51):
Oh yeah, plenty of plenty of I was gonna say,
parents go without their kids. Parents always say the kids,
but plenty of people go, you don't need to take kids.
You're absolutely gonna love it. But it is a balancing
act around Halloween time because if you go too hard
you freak the kids out. And so they've they've called it.
They've gone right the kids they're used to coming here.
(10:13):
It's a lot of fun. Let's not scare them too much.
Speaker 2 (10:16):
So this is no kids. And it sounds like they're
going hard.
Speaker 7 (10:19):
They are going hard. There's also going to be live
dissections of cane toad.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
That sounds that's the most Queensland thing that way I've
ever done. As Territorians, I suppose. Yeah, I mean that's
just driving to work up there here.
Speaker 2 (10:32):
It's a special Halloween tree.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
This is Rongady rapped on cameras four point seven.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
I love it when the eyes of the nation turned
to the Capitol for less than obvious reasons, although I
am surprised this hasn't happened before. You see these videos
in America where a moose or a bear, you know,
goes into someone's house and everyone goes well, that is surprising.
Why do we not see more kangaroos inside buildings? I've
(11:02):
thought this, and so today the Capitol flying the flag.
Speaker 2 (11:07):
For the obvious.
Speaker 8 (11:07):
I did the kangaroos stop by a shopping center in
Canberra Wealth to get a jump on the sales. The
roof waited to the door and then decided to hop
on in. It was a long way from home with
not much in the way of bushland nearby. The shoppers
there a day they won't soon forget.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
Now.
Speaker 3 (11:25):
I can see a sign in the background and it
says Woden something or other. So it's obviously some shops
in Woden and this east and Eastern Gray. It's unusual
because he's made it to the front door. And I
know they said without any bushland, you know, nearby bushlands
nearby in every suburb obviously. However, he's clearly comfortable around
(11:47):
us because he's looked in.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Seen can bearns, and gone, I'll go and.
Speaker 3 (11:52):
Take a closer look and gone through the automatic opening doors. However,
we know as can bearons, they're not tame and they're
not in you know, our our zoo or any zoo
where you're.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Allowed to pat them.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yeah, and so everyone's gone running and I think that's
spot on. That's the smart thing, because they can cause
some damage.
Speaker 4 (12:14):
Yes, definitely, I think I saw the kids run. The
mom's still standing there. She's ready to protect everyone. The
kids know, yes, they know.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
When I used to do the school drop off before
moving to this time slot, we would run the gauntlet.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
We would have.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
To get around two, three, four five, half a dozen
kangaroos between the car and the classroom any day.
Speaker 2 (12:38):
Of the week.
Speaker 4 (12:38):
Yeah, it's crazy here.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
And they know, though they're smart, we're idiots.
Speaker 3 (12:41):
We stand there and go we'll get out of the camera,
which is you know what this person did.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
But yet all the kids scattered because they're switched on.
Speaker 3 (12:47):
And the kangaroos, even if they're the same size as
the kids, they're still heavier.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
Because they're just oh they're huge.
Speaker 3 (12:55):
Yeah yeah, well done us making news for it rod
raisins
