Speaker 1 (00:00):
They came bounding over.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
What's a procedure?

Speaker 3 (00:09):
This is Roden Gabby versus the World.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
The Witcher.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Are you a fan of it?

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I don't know what it is the Witch. I heard
the Witcher.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
You haven't watched her?

Speaker 2 (00:22):
He love this? What is it?

Speaker 1 (00:23):
So?

Speaker 4 (00:23):
The Witcher is a TV show based off a video game,
and Henry Cavill played the Witcher in the first couple
of seasons.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Superman was the Witcher.

Speaker 4 (00:32):
Yeah, and he was a really really big fan, or
is a really big fan of the game. So that's
why he was really excited to play that part. When
it became a TV show, it made me love Henry
Cavell more than when he played Superman. And that's saying
something because he is a very lovable dude.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
People loved him in Superman. People are very upset, but
everyone each generation has this Superman they do.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
When it comes to The Witcher, though, I didn't even
realize Henry Cavell at first. I just fell in love
with this person, his character, and then I realized.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
I was like, oh, yeah, it makes sense.

Speaker 4 (01:06):
But then he decided at the very same time that
he wasn't well. At the very same time they decided
he wasn't doing Superman anymore. He decided he wasn't doing
the Witcher anymore, but they wanted to continue the series.
So Liam Hemsworth has got the call up and he's
stepping in to play the Witcher instead of Henry Cavill.

(01:26):
So we've just received the first trailer of the New
Witcher featuring Liam Hemsworth.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Now, I'm not familiar obviously with this character of the Witch.
Is it a little bit like in Neighbors where Sally
once left, you know, from a shot in the lounge
room and walked out the door, and then they cut
to an exterior shot you filmed from the street and
it was a different actress.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
I reckon it's going to be like that. Yes, I
don't think there's any kind of reference that the character
is not. We don't know yet because the series isn't
out yet. The new series isn't out yet. But judging
by the trailer, it looks like it just continues like
there's nothing to see here and the Richer hasn't changed face.

Speaker 2 (02:08):
Richard doesn't walking in and when someone goes someone I
didn't know.

Speaker 4 (02:12):
We don't think so, but the trailers here, we're gonna
have a little look at it. This is Liam Hemsworth
in action for the first time, so being a game,
it's like very fantasy. There's like monsters and things and
that's what he hunts down and kills.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
And well, I like Liam, so let's see it.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
Yeah, let's see how goes.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
It's a Reef.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Stanbach his words immortal, shall shall meet my favorite fiery
out nerd alert.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
It's it is straight up. I don't know, I don't
know what this is. But as soon as soon as
a guy pulls at his sword and goes stand back,
it's a wraith. Look at someone's gonna roll the dice in,
someone's gonna get fifteen. You've you've got a spell and

(02:58):
a potion. That that's what I just saw. That's what
I did. What are we six seconds in and the
nerd alert's gone off? Anyway, people like this, Yeah, let's see.
Well that's impressive. So big ghosts come out?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Yeah, scary looking ghost. It's a rape, but you.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Use the right terminology.

Speaker 3 (03:29):
Now, it's just a lot of action secrets of fighting
this ghost thing.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
So the ghost can grab him and throwing him around. Yeah,
that's small, simple.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I think it's trying to drag him back into the grave.

Speaker 2 (03:39):
That came from Oh fantastic, And which one's Liam, the
one fighting the ghost Hart to tell those it's dark
there in a forest. He's the long hair singing his
sword around, his fight and a ghost. Right, so this
is you give me choke over. It looks fine, looks
completely fine.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Right now, he's like cast some spell and he kills
the wraith.

Speaker 2 (04:01):
That's what happens when the roll of fifteen mate cast
a spell. Spec There's really only one other act in
the world bigger than the names that I mention, and
it is the Wiggles. And so it's been incredible to
see the evolution of the group to what it is today,

(04:24):
where it's just I can't imagine, you know, whatever it
is that you're trying to do in entertainment in life
to land a gig as one of the Wiggles in
the colored skivvy, well, I don't know. Let's ask someone
who's actually done that. Evie the Yellow Wiggle. Good morning
and congratulations, good morning, thank you so much.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
So we have to agree it's very it's remarkable to
be wearing skivvy.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Well, you know, we've got lots of little girls and
boys listening now and go back to little Evie growing
up in Cans watching The Wiggles on TV. I mean,
we can have dreams and then there's something beyond that
is that this.

Speaker 1 (05:04):
Oh absolutely, The Wiggles was my first concert at the
Cans Convention Center. Yeah, I absolutely loved them, and it
honestly wasn't even a dream because I feel like it
extends beyond that. I didn't even know but this could
be a possibility for me. So yeah, it's an honor

(05:26):
every day and it's just so much fun.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
Did it become more of.

Speaker 4 (05:29):
A possibility for you when Emma joined The Wiggles, because
at first it was the four guys who originally started
the group, and then when Emma joined, it kind of
gave that different avenue for girls to be part.

Speaker 3 (05:41):
Of that group as well. Was that kind of a
turning point for you?

Speaker 1 (05:45):
I mean absolutely, Emma really opened up doors, I guess,
and yeah, created a more diverse cast.

Speaker 2 (05:54):
And having a female as part of.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
The group, and then obviously with the vision to extend
that diversity even more and to have more women and
have equal an equal class of men and women, and
then more cultures and backgrounds.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Absolutely, it's so exciting, and I think it reflects the
community and the country that we live in.

Speaker 3 (06:21):
Well, speaking of that, you were originally in the blue skivvy.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
And I only know this because I was watching The
Wiggles with my daughter recently and you were on there
in blue and I was like, oh, in a minute,
and I had to pause, and I had to do
a deep dive on the internet and is it trying?

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Is it true you.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Actually asked to go to the yellow skivvy because it
was more of a reflection of your culture.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
I wouldn't say I asked to do it.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
It was kind of so the Fruit Sealer TV was
when they first extended the cast and had this diverse
and the YouTube series. It was the first time that
there was eight of us there. And then when we
kind of consolidated into a cast of eight Wiggles, when

(07:09):
I shifted into the yellow and then that was a
really great opportunity for me to add in that red
stripe and kind of have the whole symbolism of the
Aboriginal flag with me. So I didn't ask to do
that for that reason, but I feel like it was
faked that it happened that way.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Absolutely, And when we talk about being a reflection of
the broader Australian community. The Wiggles could not be more that,
which is just fascinating when you look at the evolution
from you know, a couple of teachers who were trying
to be rock stars to what they ended up being
to what you know the group is now. And by
the way, we know that you know, Emma Gabie has

(07:52):
a chastised me for saying to forget crediting you was
the only ballerina Emma having some LA training, But certainly
you know when you you're touring with the Australian Ballet
for years, you know, we get back to the start
of the interview around how unlikely does it seem that
you're doing this now?

Speaker 1 (08:12):
Yeah? It honestly I sometimes have to reflect and be like, wow,
how did I get here?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
And I feel so lucky.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I did meet Anthony at the Sydney Opera House while
I was with the Australian Ballet, and there's been other
crossovers with the Australian Ballet and the Wiggles in the past,
so I feel like, you know, it all led to
this point.

Speaker 2 (08:41):
Wow, And everything that I did.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
To build up was going to lead me here.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I kind of believe in that.

Speaker 4 (08:46):
Is it true that you're still doing some ballet on
the side along with the your Wiggles commitments.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yes, I'm no longer with the Australian Ballet. I resigned
it at the end of last year.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
So I did three years of.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Doing both and every second of it.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Wow, okay, you've read it multi time. It's very impressed.
It was so much fun. I actually loved it. I
look back on it with just nothing but joy.

Speaker 1 (09:16):
But I definitely I love.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
I feel like, Okay to.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Sydney and I get to spend much more time here
with the Wiggles family, and I still take classes and
ballets still so much part of my life and my
identity and my Wiggles character and yeah, but it's just
not the full time ballet anymore.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Well, it's incredible talking about that being part of your
life and by the way, the role the Wiggles played
in your life when you're a little girl, and now
you play that role for us as Canberra families. So
on your way back here, I still am so proud
of the photo of my little girls when they had
their photo with Emma. And that's the role that you're
playing now showing up here so we'll We're humbled at

(09:55):
you're coming back. We appreciate the time so much today,
good luck with everything. We can't wait to see you here.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Oh, thank you so much. We can't wait to be back.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
And I'll see you at the shows.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
It's very exciting.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Rodin Gabby versus the world.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Okay, there's a sneaky way artificial intelligence is helping us
in job interviews, us as the job interview e or
er E.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
And I don't know if it's helping as such.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
It is helping in the moment, but I don't think
it will help in the long run because if you're
not doing the job interview by your own knowledge and merit,
then when you get the job, you might be in
a little bit of trouble.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
People say that, don't let that stop you. Don't let
that stop you going for something. You got to get
it first. Then do you have to get it then
you'll find it. You can't do it once you're there.

Speaker 4 (10:38):
Well, it turns out that a lot of bosses are
cluing onto the issues with online interviews because a lot
of Skype interviews have been happening since technology became able
and all of a sudden, an online skype interview is
not as accurate it'd expect. Not only can you not

(11:01):
see what someone or see how someone is presenting themselves fully,
so you don't get a full idea of what the
person is like in person.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
Assume they're wearing board shorts, they.

Speaker 4 (11:13):
Could just be run undie. But you also might not
be getting their answers from them. So gen Z, especially
because they're very tech savvy, are doing this. What they're
doing is they're putting chat GPT on their phone or
some similar AI, and they have it next to the
speaker of their computer.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
So when the interview er asks a question, it hears
that the AI hears that question, and.

Speaker 4 (11:42):
It automatically pops up an answer for the interviewee to
spurt back in the interview. So they're saying some incredible answers.
It sounds like they've got incredible knowledge. It sounds like
they are reciting the Internet, and it sounds like they
know what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
So they get the job. Then they go to the
job and they're like, oh, I.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Don't know how to do this. Even if they don't
know how to do that, if they're able to deliver
a scripted response naturally enough that you can't tell. There
is a skill in that that I think can be
used in the workplace somewhere.

Speaker 3 (12:17):
Some it's just the acting is just like top notch.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
It's not easy to do reading to sound like you're
not reading.

Speaker 3 (12:23):
How do we test this?

Speaker 2 (12:24):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 4 (12:25):
Let's get an AI response and see if we're able
to okay, to deliver it appropriately.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
Okay, okay, and we'll declare when we're doing it. We
won't know be tricky like the AI. Okay, Well yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
I'll ask a question and then you've just got to
recite the answer.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Get ready, we're doing it? Can we can? We do
you have the technology to do that? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (12:44):
Absolutely, doing it? Next, your acting skills? Ready, your throats loose.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Red leather, yellow leather, red letter, the red leather, yellow let.

Speaker 4 (12:56):
So we're just talking about how AI is being used
in job interviews when using Skype or similar online and
people are using their phone so that the speaker of
the computer feeds into AI on the phone.

Speaker 3 (13:09):
The AI.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Here's the question that the interview where is asking and
it comes up with responses for you to be able
to read back as your answer.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
All right, so we're going to test this.

Speaker 2 (13:20):
I'm just getting into care. I'm getting into you're getting interviewed.
You are going for a job. What's the job I'm
going for.

Speaker 3 (13:28):
You're going for a job in hardware.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yes, excellent in hardware, returning to the hardware game.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
Yes, he will tell you.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
A story about hardware.

Speaker 4 (13:38):
Okay, okay, And we're doing the interview online because that's
how we do it these days.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Okay, whereabouts are we are we conducting this interview? This
is why would you be in an office senior management
role at the hardware organize it?

Speaker 3 (13:58):
And we're doing it online. You're doing it on Skype.

Speaker 2 (14:01):
I'm at my also my previous place of employment. That's
not smart. I interviewed a guy once and in the
middle of the interview it's like a Skype interview. I go,
are you Are you sitting in the back of a car?
He goes, yeah, I'm at my work now, but I
just didn't feel cool about being anywhere near this, so
I've come to my car. I'm like, but what in
the back? He goes, Oh, it's more comfortable in the back. Sure,

(14:23):
that is the That is the correct answer. You want
to be more comfortab you, all right, So I'm at
my other workplace.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
So you're already stressed.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I'm stressed.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
You don't want the manager to wall puss and se
You're at a job into view and.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
I hate this job because it's not in hard way,
it's in accounting, and I am terrible at mass. I
got to get out of here.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
You've got to get out of there. I like that
you building the character.

Speaker 1 (14:43):
Well, you got it. You got it.

Speaker 3 (14:45):
You're in character now.

Speaker 4 (14:45):
So I'm interviewing you. The interview's been going great. I'm
going to throw a question at you now. Keeping in mind,
when AI here's the question, right, it'll come up with
probably three responses for you to choose from right, depending
on what you want to highlight. So when I throw
this question at you, you need to in a split second,

(15:06):
decide which response you're going to go with, and then
you need to read it.

Speaker 3 (15:10):
But make it sound so natural. It's like you're just
responding to.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
My question, right, So as the interviewer, you can't detect
on reading from the script, and you give me the job.
And by the way, this sounds far fetched, this is happening,
and it's a real concern for recruiters. People talk in
a good game, you can't do it when they get there.
Let me tell you I will. I will hardware the
house down BBC hardware house, remember them. I'll tell you

(15:33):
a story hardware. So I'm good for this job, but
I'm still I need a bit of AI as support.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
You need a bit of AI assistance. All right, here's
the question. So Rot, if there's one thing you could do.

Speaker 3 (15:45):
Better, what would it be.

Speaker 2 (15:50):
It's a good question. It's a great question, Thank you, Gabrielle. Look,
I'd like to become better at delegating. Oh. I naturally
enjoy taking ownership of tasks. Love it. I do it
very well. But I've realized that sometimes the best way
to achieve results is to trust others. A lot of

(16:13):
people don't do that. But if you trust others with
responsibilities and focus on where I can add the most value.
I've been working on this by clearer, by being clearer,
which is ironic because I wasn't just there. But I've
been working on it by being clearer in communication and
giving team members more space to shy and scene.

Speaker 3 (16:39):
So if it were just an audio interview, you would
have been fine.

Speaker 4 (16:44):
But I had no eye contact throughout that it.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Was pretty obvious you were reading a script.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
I got to read the script. Okay, we're going to
redo the simulation. I need you to go to another
room riding jabby for breath. It's really not easy. And
so unless you've got like because like the news readers
in a TV studio will have a thing called a
teleprompter or an auto Q, and so that allows you

(17:11):
to look into the lens. But the person who's looking
back at you in our cases, you know humans, the audience,
it doesn't see the words. You know that the news
reader can actually see. You would need an auto Q otherwise. Yeah,
just like then you can see me looking at the
script and getting the I got the sentence on muddled up.

Speaker 3 (17:36):
So that's not for an acting role. My point, you
will do very well in the role.

Speaker 2 (17:41):
But otherwise we come full circle. My point stands, if
you're good enough at reading that and doing that trick
to get the job, sure you might not might not
know what you're doing when you get there.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
But you could act like you do.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
You have a great skill

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
