Speaker 1 (00:00):
She we've been holding our breath to go and ride
some water slides.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Well, don't hold it any longer because you will lose
out on oxygen.

Speaker 1 (00:09):
Don't say it. Don't say it's over. It's over, Okay,
I said it. Well sorry, take that back. Okay. So
we saw footage and the report from Canberra Times late
last week and then a subsequent report over the weekend
Meek and Dowd. He's been doing a great job following
this and the video is what it is. The footage

(00:31):
is diabolical. We'll review that in just a second. But
the place has been trashed, big splash. You know, we've
seen videos come out of urban explorers going in and
it's an interesting thing. The concept with the urban explorer,
do not touch anything. We are here to capture a moment,
a snapshot in history, and then leave.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
And they thought it was an abandoned water park when
this urban explorer filmed it only like four or five
weeks ago that we looked at and then was told
that it's actually not abandoned. It's just under repair and
it's a waiting parts or whatever. And they had to apologize, like,
we're so sorry. We went in there. We thought it
was done, and we said, well no it's not done.

Speaker 1 (01:13):
No, but we could hardly blame them. Hang on a second,
So the footage of this stuff, you can see it
at the Canberra Times here big splash is looking worse
for where the entrance area where you would normally go
in and get your tickets. The windows have been smashed in.
That's right. The pools are empty, we know that. Oh

(01:33):
but the big kangaroo.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
The pools had a bit of water in them when
the Urban Explorer went in there the other day because yeah,
but there was some water because it was algae and
it was all green and mushy. So they've drained the
pool since then.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Well, the kid interesting, the baby pool, you know, the
little kid's pool, That big pink kangaroo is now in
the big pool. It's not meant to be there. So
these vandals, punks have ripped this place up and it
absolutely does look a lot of the glass and the
windows have been broken and oddly the reporters and I
don't know if you've been there today or yesterday because

(02:07):
I haven't checked, but was left like this four days.
Big hole cut in the fence, not boarded up, and
so the report from Megan was that a Facebook page
was set up and here's the quote from the article,
Big Splash has been trashed, with the purported business manager
of the mcquarie water Park claiming the vandalism means the

(02:27):
facility will be quote closed for good end quote and
demolished next year. That is such.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
A line. They think we're silly. Who's they well, the
fact that they kept telling us that they were waiting
for parts, so we're going to repair it. It was
coming back. No one freak out. We're going to have
Big Splash next summer, and then suddenly they've vandalized it,
so we're going to demolish it. Like that is a

(02:58):
quick jump from vandalism to demolish.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
All right, you're not saying anything. I don't say anything.
You can everyone can think what you're thinking. Okay, don't
No one's saying anything. No one's saying anything, but people
thinking things.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
People are thinking things.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Okay, well, hold on, hold on, But.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Obviously this was the plan, Like demolishing it next year
was obviously has been in the works and a plan
for a while.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
No, no, no, not that we're aware of. It's definitely
don't say what you're thinking. I'm just saying, don't say anything,
and also everyone think things. Okay, So I'm going to
give you a hope. I hope this isn't false hope. Okay,
So give me hope.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
And then it's dashed again. This is gonna get worse.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
Okay. I want to get the right part of the article.
Meghan is right on this, she's she.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Has written quite the essay.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
She's all over it. She absolutely okay. So she's reached
out to the person on the Facebook page that said
and I'm managing this sting and said because in one
of the posts, this person said, listen, I can't get
back to you. I mean, I don't want toy. The
country's wrong, but I think it was Thailand. And she's gone, right,

(04:13):
So you've put up a post saying that you've cited
this and you were here, but you're also telling me
you're in another country at the same time. What's going on?
All of a sudden, Facebook page everything on their delete
So perhaps that's hope.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
Don't hold your bread.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
I am holding my brad going to pass out
