Speaker 1 (00:00):
We love our Royal Australian men.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It is, you know, right up there, top two for
me really in my favorite Canberra institution.

Speaker 3 (00:09):
There's so many good ones too, there are so.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Many, but this is it's a real beauty and I'm
very excited. My my youngest is going there for the
first time.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Today with her class school excursion tour. That's right, that excursion.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
So her timing's good though, because we have new coin
launch day and we're very privileged to speak with someone
who has, you know, the busiest day in.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Their month when these days roll around.

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Royal Australian Mint Acting CEO Emily Muttin, good morning and
congratulations again.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
Oh thank you, Good morning, Rod, good morning, morning, Gabby.

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Good morning.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
This is coin today, it's our coin, It's Camera coin.

Speaker 4 (00:46):
Oh, there is a Canbra coin today. We have the
thirty second coin in our Kangaroo series coming out today
and we are featuring Canberra. It's a Bush capital coin.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Yes, and so you make coins for other countries, you
make coins for the nation often, but it's rare to
have a Canberra and by the way, I'm sure the
nation will be celebrating us, but to have a Canbra
focused coin it is.

Speaker 4 (01:12):
We don't always focus in on Canberra, but this design
is really special and it features some really well known
Camebra landmarks including Parliament House, Black Mountain Tower, of course
the Royal Australian Mint. And to make it really Canbra special,
it has five hot air balloons drifting above those buildings,

(01:35):
the mountains and of course a Eastern gray kangaroo.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
It's incredible how detailed these coins can get. It blows
my mind. But on the camera side of things, do
you kind of get stuck in a bit of a
place like Ricky Stewart was with his son Jed, where
you know Canbra's great, you know where really special. You
know that you are situated here and you love Canbra,
but you don't want to be seen as favoring Canbra

(02:02):
to the rest of the country. And that's why we
didn't get the coin until the thirty seconds Kangaroo edition.

Speaker 4 (02:10):
Oh maybe. I mean, this has been a really well
loved coin program and over the years we've had some
really well known artists involved, including Ken done So. It
first launched in nineteen ninety three and there's been a
lot of different designs, so there will be collectors out
there who are just really keen to see what we've

(02:30):
come up with further thirty second coin, and I think
it's really special that we've got something that's focused on Camebra.
It sets out our love of nature in our bush
capital settings.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
This is a beauty I'm looking at.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
This is a magnificent one dollar coin here, and they
always are beautiful, but this one is particularly special, so
collectors will be very excited to get around this one.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Will you put any of these into actual circulation?

Speaker 4 (02:55):
This is a very special coin. So it's a one
ounce fine silver proof coin or a one ounce fine
silver frosted uncirculated coin. So our collectors are going to
spend a little bit of money on these. I don't
think they'll they'll want to spend them down at the shops.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
I'm getting one of these for a dollar. If you
find one of these, come back and change when you're
a woolye respend it.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Don't respend it, and absolutely ask some questions as to
what led to that moment, because these ones are special.

Speaker 1 (03:27):
Ones are beautiful al right, So what time is go? Time?
Is the que already formed for you guys down there?

Speaker 4 (03:34):
I'm not there just yet. There might be a few
people there before me this morning. It is available from
eight thirty this morning and it has been part of
our ballot, so some people have already entered into the palett.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Yeah, very wise at the ballot. You've got the key
so you don't need.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Wan you to see you don't need to get there
at four am or new coin down.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
If you can walk past the queue. All right. Congratulations
once again you you and your team.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
We say it every time, but you just blow our
minds every time we see your work and this one
is an absolute beauty. Get along home ground advantage. It's
the best part about being in the best city in
the world. Have a great day today. We know how
busy you are and we'll chat again.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
We'll done.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Emily Martin, acting CEO of the Royal Australian Mint.

Speaker 4 (04:19):
Thank you.
