Speaker 1 (00:06):
Lucky Lucky Time. It's Lucky Dip time with Malon Monty.
Welcome to the show Show on Tell. Hello everybody, Hello everyone,
thanks for listening in to the podcast. So I'm going
to do today's Lucky Dip. Mal I thought you would
like this because I've kind of gone on a specific
theme and the theme is movies.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Oh, one of my favorites.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
So what came up on my Instagram the other day?
Hold on, on a side note, when's the last time
you watched a movie? I'm start to finish.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
A long time. I haven't watched me for a long time,
but god, I consumed a lot of fucking movies before
the last maybe two years.

Speaker 1 (00:45):
My last one was The Greatest Showman. This is the
greatest shot, one of my favorite movies of all time.
Greatest Showmen and Titanic are my favorite movies. Are you
watched Empire Records not long ago? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I did with my daughter.

Speaker 1 (01:00):
Ye. Anyway, it came up on my Instagram that it
was the anniversary it was back in two thousand of
Love and Basketball. Now this is quite a niche, but
do you remember Love and Basketball?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
No?

Speaker 1 (01:13):
It was so beautiful. It was these two teenagers who
live next door to each other, and they would have
their own lives constantly, you know, like date different people
and stuff. And then they came together and they fell
in love and they both wanted to be pro basketballers.
She ended up making it pro and it was the
launch of this song, which you mightn't have heard either,

(01:37):
but I'm gonna play it because it was so beautiful
and I love it so much.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
What year was this movie?

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Two thousand?

Speaker 2 (01:47):
Ah, great times?

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Remember this song? It's Maxwell? Remember the Maxwell. Listen for it?
So beautiful? Are you hating him?

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Okay, wait, And this is when they got together, like
they kissed for the first time in the backyard. I
wish you remembered this, you know everything.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
There's Mormon's work, that part I know. Yeah, all that
you didn't start.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah, this woman's work. Anyway, for those of you who
remember that were rich because it was such a beautiful movie.
It would have really like you'll be enjoying that right now,
I know. Anyway. I also thought of bring it On.

Speaker 2 (02:46):
Oh yeah, we dearly a movie Kirsten.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Dunst, Gabrielle Union and Jesse Bradford and oh my god,
that's movie. I reckon. I've watched six hundred and forty
two times.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
There was a real stage. I know that was cheerleading,
but dancing movie, yes.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
Yeah, Like what was the dancing one with Channing Tatum
and his ex wife get her name?

Speaker 2 (03:08):
Oh? I don't know, but I thought straight away in
my brain went to is it called Save the Last Dance? Oh?
My god?

Speaker 1 (03:14):
And she could not dance. There's a clip that goes
around every now and then of her dancing and it's
so funny.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Oh god, And it was funny.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
Another one you haven't thought of in Ages nineteen eighty
four Splash with Darryl Hannah and Tom Hanks.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
God, I loved that movie.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
And anytime she'd get wet, she'd turn it excuse me,
a mermaid and she just remember she's.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
Just like laying on the bathroom floor. She's got this
big tailor flafy.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
If I saw if a man turned into a mermaid
every time he went in the bath or anything that's
unlovable like she was, Tom Hanks would never have fallen
for that. And he did fel.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Sex with a mermaid. Where's the giant hair?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
There must be one. But she would turn, she would
get legs again. She wasn't always a mermaid. Yeah, but
if it's when she gets wet, dangerous, very dangerous. Another
one I never watched, but I always wanted to. A
blaster in the past movie Requiem for a Dream.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
I've never watched that.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
Very disturbing, very very disturbing, to the point that I
never watched it because of the whole like the family,
the mum and everything were complete drug addicts that I
just never watched it. But I'm surprised I didn't because
I'm normally into that kind of stuff. But also malt
there's some classic movies I've never seen, and I wanted
to shock you and probably upset you with this list. Okay,

(04:45):
still Magnolia's.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Listen if there's anything you have to do, not doing it.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Spoke about this a little while ago. I'm not doing it.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I find this upsetting because you know, when you know somebody,
yeah you, I know they'll love.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
It if there's cancer in it.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
So that's very no, there's answer in it. There's not
cancer in its diabetic.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
Oh, okay, there's no cancer. Listen.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
It's female friendship, it's loss, it's you have to watch it.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
It's onheartan, isn't it it's not a personal attack that
I haven't watched it, No, I know, but it's like
it will you have to watch it, Okay, I will
before my life is out. Another one, Gone with the Wind.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Look, Gone with the Wind. I get it, because that
is a fucking like that's three hours aggressive. Yeah, I
watched that as a kid many times.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah, right, the Godfather never seen any of those?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah, I get the Godfather that you wouldn't have seen
because that's also it's.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Very it's not a really kid friendly kind of movie,
is it. You would have seen it being an Italian,
it would have been playing in the background to your.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
No, it wasn't. It wasn't. It was too violent. But
I yeah, I have seen it. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest.

Speaker 2 (06:03):
That is probably in my top three favorite movies.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
What is it even about?

Speaker 2 (06:09):
So Jack Nicholson plays McMurphy. I fucking love Jack Nicholson
so much. But he's like a criminal who gets off
on the insanity plea or whatever. She has to go
into what they would call back then a mental asylum. Right,
And the cast is amazing, like Danny DeVito's in it,
Like there's all these people that you would recognize, but
it's in this insane asylum almost and the there's a

(06:33):
nurse ratchet if you've ever heard that term. Yeah, Louise Fletcher.
She's like the head nurse there. But it's sort of
showing how they're treated. It shows mental illness, it shows
the insight they have connects. Such a beautiful movie. It's yeah,
I mean you will probably never watch that. You should.
It's so good.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Rocky. I haven't seen Rocky, the original Rocky or any Rockies. Okay,
so the original Rocky I know, is meant to be
the best for me. It was boring three and.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Four Okay, Jesus you went deep when Ivan Drago kills
Apollo Creep. That is so many good Montages four as.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
Well, don't don't That's all I know. Okay, when Harry
met Sally. I haven't seen that from start to finish.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
But you've seen the scene that talks about of.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
Course, I've seen that The Princess Bride.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
God, she watches a kid and.

Speaker 1 (07:33):
Fraggle Rock and stuff like that. I don't know. I
don't know what I watched. No, I know that I watched,
you know, those sinister ones that I used to love
those fairy tale ones where it was like Thumberlina and
stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
You really would have loved The Princess Bride. The problem
is you probably can't watch that now because you need
to have watched it.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
It needs to be a logic. Yeah, and also Greece,
like every time i'd go to the video shop, Grease
is what I would. I watched that like seven million times. Yeah,
I think what else we watched? But no, I didn't.
I never watched any of these and lucky last one
Breakfast at Tiffany's I've never seen.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
No, I've never seen that either. Ah have you seen
the Breakfast Club? Oh yes, I've seen that, I know,
but who knows?

Speaker 1 (08:23):
After you? Right off that list? The club? I mean,
I don't think I loved it. I loved There was
another Molly Ringwood show or however you say her name?
Where she what was it called? Where she was with
this guy and they got pregnant really young?

Speaker 2 (08:38):
Oh god, not it wasn't the suicide one survivor surviving, I.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Don't think so, I don't know, I don't know. I
can't remember, but I remember bits of it and I
loved it. Oh my god, here's a really awful. This
is so mean, but a really awful like what would
you rather? This is so nasty? But Kate Perry and
Drew Barrymore give me the shits like nothing else. Yes,

(09:04):
so fine. I have interviewed Katy Perry before and she
was a complete mole. And my friend who I was
walking with, Kez, was a producer, and she said, I said,
isn't it awful how we have opinions about these women
who we've never met, And she's like, Nope, with Katy Perry,
we can have an opinion. She met That's Perry a
few times because she's like she would come to Australia
all the time. So every show Kez was working on,

(09:26):
she would go in and she said she was once
standing there because it had been just a year, and
she goes, I remember you. I don't remember you. I
don't remember you. I remember you and pointed to the
people in the room.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
Well then she deserves the shame.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, And then Drew Barrymore is like just micking all
over every guest. I find it so in authentic and
so annoying. So we were like, who would you just
the two of you want to go on a weekend
away with Katy Perry or Drew Barrymore. Drew Barrymore same.
I said her stories would be better.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
And she'd I think she'd be a good time. I think,
you know what. I think that in a non show
Biers environment, she'd probably just be a lot of fun. Yeah,
and maybe maybe I'd pull out the dark side of her. Yeah,
want to get me so excited side of her? Totally? Yeah,
I think you have a drink.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
