Speaker 1 (00:01):
Construction of Australia's tallest tower is set to begin on
the Gold Coast after the seven hundred million dollar mega
project was given the ticket approval by council. The new
building in Southport will feature two towers, one for residents
standing one hundred and one stories tall, alongside another commercial
tower with sixty levels, and it's all hoped to be
(00:23):
finished by the end of twenty twenty eight to transform
the Glitter Strip suburb into a city center for more.
We're joined by Matt Jutson, one of the team members
behind the building. Good morning, morning, Now the mayor on board,
what about the locals?
Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah, you know what, We've been working for three years
with the City of Gold Coast and the Queensland government
and the Mayor has been a big champion of this
project as well as the local councilor Brook Patterson, and
part of the planning process. We've obviously been working closely
with the local community and our soon to be neighbors
and there's been a lot of support for this project.
(00:59):
During the formal consultation, we had zero objections to this project,
so we think this is exactly the kind of bold
project that Gold Coasters want to see.
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yes, So what it's a Melbourne based developer coming to
the GC to do this?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Is it? What are you going to put in the towers?
Speaker 2 (01:15):
For sure? So one hundred and one stories of residential
close to two hundred apartments. NAT, There'll be a luxury
sprawling three story penthouse. There'll be a sky lounge on
the top story on level one hundred and one where
you'll have views over the broadwater and over the ocean obviously,
(01:36):
and also you'll be able to see Australia's latest sunset. Obviously,
includes a gym and sort of all the facilities that
you would expect in this kind of development.
Speaker 3 (01:45):
Matt, you're doing a good sell.
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Okay, tell us how much is the three story penthausekin
a sell for?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Well? Matt, You're welcome to talk to the sales guys
about that if you want to get in on that.
I can tell you I can't afford it, but we've
got a part in this development that start from around
a million dollars for the two better apartments and then
there's everything in between.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Okay, any inquiries yet? Is there a list?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
The development applic approval was announced yesterday and apparently the
sales guys. Their phone's been running hot since then, So
we expect these apartments to be snapped up. If you're interested,
I think now is the time to get in.
Speaker 3 (02:23):
Okay, and what else in the building.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Yeah, so's there's a skybridge connecting the two towers. It's
predominantly a residential building that so what you're going to
see is apartments. The commercial space there's sixty stories of
office space, about eleven and a half thousand square meters. There, restaurants, bars,
all those kind of facilities that you would expect in
(02:46):
this kind of Gold Coast development.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Look, last question, without notice, could you fit a sunrise
studio in there?
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Well, there's plenty of commercial space, and I can tell
you the surface Paradise studio is quite nice, but you
know you could you could always do with another one.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Okay, Well, well I'll get our people to talk to
your people.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Sounds good.
Speaker 3 (03:11):
