Speaker 1 (00:16):
App That anything gag Hey, this is the Christian O'Connell
show podcast.

Speaker 2 (00:27):
Yesterday we had some incredible stories. We were looking for
your stories. Have you ever been in a lineup? When
I mentioned two days ago to my wife, I was
thinking about doing this, my wife went, no, one's going.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
To call in?

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Yeah rightly, so, oh Sarah, I was so smugy yesterday evening,
not just did they call in amazing stories.

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Kicking off with the Lisa.

Speaker 4 (00:49):
My husband's been in what you might call an audio lineup,
who's about thirteen years old, just started high school and
him and his mate wag school, went down to the milbar.
During that time, somebody has done a bomb scare at
the school, so trying to sneak back into school and
got caught. They had to go into the office and

(01:09):
talk on a phone and say over the phone there's
a bomb in the school. A voice lineup, and so
then the old receptionist is like, yep, that's them.

Speaker 2 (01:20):
I find that amazing, just so increable. You would just
put a fake voice. You're not going to do your
actual choice. So they're going to beat Jamaican voices, Irish voices,
basically any other voice of the one they're looking for.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
So you're looking for a child's voice, you're not going
to get that. How stupid I think those kids are
that's smarter than that.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
And then this is an incredible story from Nick yesterday,
his story about being involved in not one, but several lineups.

Speaker 3 (01:45):
The mid nineteen nineties in the UK impoverished first UNI students,
just walking the streets of the city center and approached
by a policeman and asked to accompany him to the
station and did the lineup and was paid ten pounds.
Then actually went on to make a career of it,
did about six across my university years. The issue after
the first one was I left with my ten pounds

(02:07):
and walking the streets to get back for university coommodation.
Somebody tried to mt me call the ten pounds.

Speaker 2 (02:13):
All right, then that's we also missed off the most
entertaining bit of that where he had to do a
line up where he was given a faint mustache.

Speaker 1 (02:20):
That's a bit of sticky tape.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yeah, it's better that we just come in second half
it readsaal it Yeah, thirteen fifty five twenty two your stories,
But have you ever been involved in a lineup?

Speaker 1 (02:31):
Colin? We didn't have time for you yesterday, so we've
got you back on. Good morning, Good morning guys.

Speaker 5 (02:36):
I picture this. It was the mid nineties, cruising around
Cowfield helping a mate move. So there was all this
stuff piled into a van and there was three of
us in the van get pulled over by the police,
thinking this doesn't look.

Speaker 6 (02:51):
Good, and they said, no, no, no, you haven't done anything wrong.
Can you help us out for an hour? We want
you to do a lineup U three. Now, there was
me early twenties, tall, skinny guy, James who was a
mary guy, probably early thirties, and other mate Adrian, who
is a much older guy let's just say, probably fifties

(03:14):
or something. And we're thinking, okay, this is going to
be an interesting lineup. So we go down to Corfield
Police station. The cops are great. They were given us
food and drinks and everything, and they said, right, there's
probably about ten of us all polled in this room
from various different backgrounds and whatever, and we're going to
just bring you out into the offices. It's not like

(03:36):
in America where we're behind a screen or anything. This
is just in the open room, and so we all
pile out. We're waiting there about a minute, and then
from another room, this other guy comes out, looking very nervous,
and the cops said to the witness, you go for
walk and see if you recognize anyone, and certain the

(03:59):
other walk up and down. The guy down the other
end was moving around very nervous. Witness goes, yeah, I
think I recognize someone, Cops, can you point them out?
God points straight at me and said, that's the guy there.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
N I always worried if that would happen.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
Well, that was your reaction that you just had. Was
was my mate James's reaction. He's doubled over laughing in
this police slide up and the police are like, calm down, guys,
calm down.

Speaker 1 (04:29):
Are the odds?

Speaker 2 (04:30):
How lucky we on the other side. We just found
them outside. It was the main man who shot JFK.

Speaker 6 (04:38):
And I'm like, hang on, I don't remember.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
The police hear that every day and I know, guys,
I want to see the courts of the sound in
front of the though no, no, no, exact my word fresh.

Speaker 1 (04:48):
It sounds funny. It sounds funny, but no, Mold, it's
not me.

Speaker 6 (04:53):
Yeah, it wasn't funny at the time for me, but
it was for me mates.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
So what happened according from prison now from time you
didn't commit Christian, get me out of there be he
for twenty two years.

Speaker 6 (05:04):
Send money for both.

Speaker 1 (05:07):
So what happened?

Speaker 5 (05:09):
Because I said to the concert, what the help?

Speaker 6 (05:11):
I was a money helping here for your mate.

Speaker 5 (05:14):
And now he goes, no, no, no, he.

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Said, all right, we know it was the other guy.
It's just this guy didn't.

Speaker 7 (05:19):
You're right to go.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
Sure, So just doing it out in the office, I
just presume you have that with that sort of one
way window, you know, rather just looking around, otherwise you
could identify that point of the person.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
Oh no, that's Pete. He's a reception.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
Well Pete did it then, lady in playing view at
a cop shop a strategy Colin.

Speaker 1 (05:39):
Very funny story, mate, Have a nice weekend.
