Speaker 1 (00:00):
Christ Yeah, welcome friends to the Christian O'Connell Show podcast. Perhatsy,
please challenge this morning. What's happened to poor Chris and his.

Speaker 2 (00:07):
Leg whole weekend of paying Jack?

Speaker 3 (00:11):
So we thought we'd take ords to Luna Park on
Saturday to finish.

Speaker 4 (00:17):
It's a good.

Speaker 5 (00:20):
I know you would you call it a theme park.
It's a theme you know.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
We've never been, never ever been. I would have loved it,
I imagine, well she did so anyway, we went on Saturday,
only we're queued up for the scenic Railway. I don't
know why.

Speaker 5 (00:33):
And it is scenic.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Why do they call it scenic railway?

Speaker 1 (00:37):
Because views of the views of the unpainted fence around
the side of it.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Makes it sound like it's aid chuffer happy little train
sort of ride.

Speaker 4 (00:47):
Yes, it sounds sweet.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
Roller coaster anyway, I'm not good rolling.

Speaker 5 (00:56):
Mild peril, warning, mild peril, Chris.

Speaker 3 (00:59):
That's Chris's to go on roller coasters with Audrey because
I don't do roller coasters. Anyway, I ended up having
to go on it, and why I did is because
Chris was getting in the.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Carriage with Audrey.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
It's actually not funny, and he put his foot down,
but his knee kind of went the other way.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Anyway, he popped his knee out. He did his knee.
I heard the pop and then acl.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
I think he has anyway, he's in a great deal.

Speaker 5 (01:29):
Terrid and they went off.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
We go that dad's really screaming what a big baby man.

Speaker 5 (01:40):
Twisted leg. They've made it more strange on.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Eating anyway, he did sound like a ten year old
girl screaming when like it really it really hurt.

Speaker 2 (01:49):
And I thought, oh no.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
Anyway, so we were last to get onto the train.
Everyone else was on, so they had to hold the
ride up. And there was that moment of I don't
know what to do, and he's like, I've got to
get off, and I said, well clearly. And Audrey is
sitting on there and she said, but I want to
go on the right.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
It's like, just hang on.

Speaker 5 (02:06):
Because any true child, that just it's all about me.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Dad's their knees point in one way, his foots going
the other and going the right.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
So the girl, the dear girl on the train had to,
you know, get on the walkie talkie and go, yeah,
we need first day we are. So someone comes up
with a wheelchair and then I said to Chris, well,
what do I do? I think we need to get off,
and everyone's like giving us looks like just make your mind.

Speaker 5 (02:32):
Up, scene breaking out here, just get on with it.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
And he's like, no, no, you know, not wanting to
cause a ruckus any further. He's like, no, no, you
go on the right.

Speaker 5 (02:42):
A ruckus.

Speaker 3 (02:43):
So he's sort of sitting in the wheelchair as they're
wheeling him off, and I thought she's going backwards down
this you know, this really frail little girl.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
And Chris is Chris is a big guy. He's tall
and he's solid, and he's going down, down, down this
ramp and.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
She's like gathering, speeding up in the air like he's
on the right.

Speaker 5 (03:08):
Actually discovered that the wheelchair drop and then on the
other knee.

Speaker 2 (03:15):
The green light goes and then the train starts. Well,
oh my god.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
I thought it just had like two dips. Oh no,
there's several dips, and there's like several Florida.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It's just a Scooby terrific. And I was crying.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
That rollercoaster was scary, one hundred years.

Speaker 5 (03:40):
Upside incredible.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
I wasn't meant to be on it. I took one
for the team. I was not meant to be on it.
My poor husband's in first daid with his knee on eyes.

Speaker 5 (03:52):
About ten feet up in the air.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
The scariest thing isn't actually the dips and how high
you go. It's that you think, is this whole wooden
structure of don't you give way?

Speaker 3 (04:01):
If you've noticed last time you were on it, there's
a person like a staff member half yeah, halfway standing start.

Speaker 5 (04:08):
It can't be that dangerous.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Now where the roller croats in the world is there's
some kid stood on it going through corkscrews. That's how
mild it is if you can stand holding it.

Speaker 5 (04:20):
I see them I go home, boss.

Speaker 1 (04:21):
Every day they're doing it one hand and waving to
young chicks.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
It was horrific anyway.

Speaker 3 (04:27):
Then we had to get off and get over to
the poor love God over at first eight and that
was it. We were there for about thirty minutes and
I had to go home. That's a wheelchair in back
to the car.

Speaker 5 (04:36):
So what's happened was he was he done? Is he's done?
His acl?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
Well, you know, I said, look yesterday, I said, I
think it's bad. He's on a stick.

Speaker 4 (04:43):
It's on a walking going to the doctor right do
and just had dad just like yeah, he was going.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
To Man, it doesn't get better that philosophy, it just
gets worse, said to him.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
He was awake when I got up today, still in pain.
He's going to the physio at twelve, so we'll see.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
But actually physio can't like it. Pash it back into
place by on this leather belt.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
A couple of wonders should put that.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
In deadwood, need to medicine look at it or something.

Speaker 2 (05:15):
You telling me. He doesn't listen to me. So we'll
say what today brings.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
With Chris being injured at Luna Park, maybe we should
hear stories about if you've been injured at a significant location.

Speaker 5 (05:27):
So Chris is mandown we can put on my map.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
No, can't we mandown knee a cl at Luna Park.
If you've been injured somewhere significant location, it might be
the mcg or anywhere in the world.

Speaker 5 (05:38):
The Christian O'Connell show podcast.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
So pats his husband Chris blown his knee is something
you say, I guess he has blown his knee out?
Is blown his knee out at Luna Park? Neither a
assistance from the first aids.

Speaker 5 (05:53):
There and put into a wheelchair and then I'm.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Guest giving very little short ship by.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
You, Patsy.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Now, come on, i'd be like that.

Speaker 6 (06:01):
No.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
I bet you were kind of like, oh, you're making
a big deal. I bet she's a bit of a harder.
So I reckon, you are, What do you do?

Speaker 4 (06:09):
Do you wheel him all the way back to the car?

Speaker 5 (06:10):
I think she just threw him, threw him in the boot.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I've got to say, she just tied him to the
room the roof rack like a big old hog.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
The girl that came to our assistance, Ainsley I believe
her name was. She was absolutely amazing and even wheeled
him back to the car.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
I said, it's okay, I can wheel him. Is heavy.
She's like, no, no, no, I've got this. And she
was just delight.

Speaker 5 (06:36):
Again that lovely bedside manner. I'll do it.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Is very heavy. Look a little bit dainty.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
As no, she was great.

Speaker 5 (06:46):
She was.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
So we're going to need pulleys in a winch and
maybe some of the rides you've got there some train
tracked down and push him down.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
Have you ever tried to push a person in a
wheelchair uphill?

Speaker 5 (06:59):
You know what?

Speaker 1 (06:59):
It's a great question. Unless there was a phone in.
I haven't, I haven't over one half matsy, what's it like?

Speaker 3 (07:06):
It's very hard and when the tires are only half
full of air, it's it's extremely well.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Shame on lunar part for not getting pumped up. To
be honest, lunar part, those wheelchair tires up. I just
write down idea here wheelchair of cash where quick as
you can push it up the hill wins the wheelchair
of cash anyway. Chris has blown his knee at Luna Park.
Have you injured yourself? Had a significant location? Janelle has cushion.

(07:32):
I was on a holiday in London and I went
to Madam to Sorts to see all the waxwork dummies,
the famous people. I claimed under Shrek, here we go
on holiday. You're not meant to do that, You're not.
It says that those size they don't touch them, don't
put your hands round on them.

Speaker 4 (07:50):
Well, some of them have extra rope. I think Kylie
Minogua that you have extra security because people were touching
it Shrek they probably thought.

Speaker 5 (07:57):
Was but no Christinate going under Shrek? Why would you
want to climb under Shrek to get a photos that? Janel?

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I climbed under Shrek to get a photo and as
I stood up, I didn't realize he was attached to
the wall with a large pole, and I concussed myself,
there's Diane here.

Speaker 5 (08:16):
Good morning, Diane, good morning.

Speaker 7 (08:19):
How are you today?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
We good Diane, and lovely to talk to you, giant,
thanks to Corn the show. Now, where where in the
world did you injure yourself?

Speaker 7 (08:26):
I was at dream World in Queensland. I was coming
down the water slide and the water sort of took
took hold of me, flipped me over and.

Speaker 6 (08:38):
I smaked my face on the base of the slide
and yeah, yeah, So I got to the bottom and
realized that the tooth was missing. Everyone realizing what was
going on because my face was full of blood, and so.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
They turned off all the slides, got the divers. He
found my tooth at the bottom of the slide. Yeah,
they've got civers there.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
And did they find like Cinderetta, did they find the
golden tooth?

Speaker 7 (09:07):
Did they find a toothed? Absolutely? I did, And I
was just flucky that there was a Jepus who was
a bystander just holidaying up there as well. Yeah, and
he washed my tooth in a bit of milk, stuck
it back in and directed us to the nearest letters
for more permanent teas.

Speaker 2 (09:24):
That's incredible.

Speaker 5 (09:26):
What's the milk treat then, just.

Speaker 7 (09:29):
Too I think to preserve a calcium or something. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (09:34):
I can't believe they've got like a cracked team ready
to jump in the look for stuff.

Speaker 5 (09:40):
Divers, go go, go, go, a kid in boards.

Speaker 1 (09:44):
They're just wandering around with that big old breathing apparatus
tank on their back.

Speaker 6 (09:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (09:49):
I thought they they must have had someone close by
because it didn't take them long to find it. Whether
I think it just by thinking about that, it's probably
something that happens maybe a little bit more regularly.

Speaker 5 (10:02):
You like to think. Did you think and pay for
that photo? Face full of blood?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (10:13):
A mousema, please.

Speaker 7 (10:17):
Say, taken a long time to repair, Diane.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
A great story though, Thank you very much for sharing
it with us this morning.

Speaker 7 (10:25):
Thank you for having me having the day.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
