Speaker 1 (00:00):
Five for f Kay run rough.

Speaker 2 (00:05):
Down before it nas gets it, Saquon Barkley first down, Barkley,
Saquon touchdown.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
That's the way Championship Monday started. Say kwon Barkley to
the crib. And that was the way Championship Monday finished.
For the Philadelphia Eagles. They donkey licked, they hammered the
Washington Commanders, put up a double nickel fifty five points,

(00:56):
marching to New Orleans to get back to the Super Bowl.
Jalen Hurts second, AJ Brown's second, Nick Siriani's second, Saquon
Barkley's first, and they'll face the team they faced a

(01:18):
couple of years ago, the Kansas City Chiefs. It had
to be the Chiefs, It was always going to be
the Chiefs, but it wasn't without some drama. This was
an absolute instant classic. The Bills and the Chiefs again

(01:38):
and again and again and again, and Mahomes and Kelsey
and Andy Reid and Taite and Brittany Mahomes and Brother
Mahomes on TikTok. They just find a way to get
the job done. But they had some help, and unfortunately

(01:58):
the help came from the Buffalo Bills.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
He's gonna have Taandregon whole season for Buffalo on the line.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Here there the come. He just desperately throws it up
in the air and completely dropped. It was dropped. Dalton
Kincaid had the opportunity down three points. The first snap
after the two minute warning. Alan's under all sorts of pressure.
Defensive coordinator for the Kansas City chief Steve Spagnolo, dolls

(02:34):
up the pressure. They're coming for Alan. He somehow has
the power to launch it to the thirty five yard line.
It somehow lands between three Chiefs defenders. It's a hail
Mary off his back foot and Dalton Kinkaid dives to
the ball and drops it and drops it, and from

(02:59):
there Mahomes finds samaj Peerin. He catches the ball, he
stays in bounds, he gets the first down and the
Chiefs win. So Kansas City and Philadelphia again, we've seen
it before and we'll see it again. But let's go
back to seven am, Monday morning, Championship, Monday NFC title game.

(03:27):
It was fifty five to twenty three. But I will
die on this hill, and I'm dead because the Eagles
have smashed them. I maintain the Commanders would have been
in this game. Maybe not have won the game, but
they would have been in this game minus the early turnovers.

(03:50):
So the Commanders march down the field. Jaden Daniels look sensational.
In the first drive of the game. They convert a
couple of fourth downs. There's a fourth and five at
the Philadelphia forty three. Daniels fine zach Ertz for seven
yards first down. On the next set of downs, fourth

(04:14):
and two from the Philly twenty eight, when you could
easily kick the field goal, Jaden Daniels scrambles five yards
first down. Then on the next set of downs, it's
third and nine at the Philadelphia twenty two. They haven't
stopped them. They kicked the field goal. They go up

(04:34):
for Ae Neil, But it's a strange decision. I understand
third and nine nine yards is difficult, and you'd be
reluctant to turn the ball over in that situation. You
want points. But they had been doing their thing. You
just heard Saquon Barkley's answer to the field goal. He
took the first snap of the Eagles offense sixty yards

(04:58):
to the house. On the Commander's second possession, they're moving
the ball. Daniels finds Ertz again. Eckler and Robinson are
able to move the ball and on a first down
catch t Army Brown has it punched out by Zach Bourne,

(05:23):
who also recovered the fumble, and all of a sudden,
she's a turnover. The Eagles take that turnover. They take
the ball forty eight yards on six plays, touchdown. Saquon
Barkley commanders go and kick a field goal. The Eagles
miss a field goal. Then late in the second quarter,

(05:48):
Jaden Daniels finds Terry McLaurin on a slant and inside slant.
He takes it thirty six yards for the touchdown, and
all of a sudden, it's fourteen and we've got a
ball game. We have got a ball game. The Eagles answer,

(06:11):
twenty to twelve. Okay, we're back and forth. We are
back and forth. This is grass basketball. Washington fumble, the
kick return, McNichols puts the ball on the ground, Eagles
ball effectively, game set and match. Seven plays. Twenty four

(06:35):
yards later, touchdown, Jalen Hurts finds aj Brown. The crowd's
going crazy. It's twenty seven to twelve ball game, and
from there after halftime, too many fumbles, too many turnovers.
Another fumble from Washington, Austin Eckler puts the ball on

(06:56):
the ground and there she goes. Good night, Irene. The
Eagles pile on the points fifty five to twenty three.
They scored seven rushing touchdowns in the game. Saquon Barkley
one hundred and eighteen yards three touchdowns, yes, a hat
trick on only fifteen carries. Jalen Hurtz only manages sixteen

(07:19):
yards on the ground but three touchdowns, and Will Shipley
add seventy seven yards on four carries and a touchdown
of his own. So on the ground the Eagles went bananas.
Thirty six carries, two hundred and twenty nine yards and
seven touchdowns. Hertz was supremely efficient through the air two

(07:41):
hundred and forty six yards and a touchdown on the
eighteen completions, and aj Brown got involved six catches, almost
one hundred yards and a touchdown For the Commanders, their
season ends a fantastic season and one which should set
them up for the future. So the rookie of the
year Jaden Daniels clear cut. He was fantastic in this match.

(08:04):
Two hundred and fifty five yards. He had a touchdown.
He threw a late pick when he had to force
the issue. Also led the team for rushing forty eight
yards and a touchdown on the ground, and zach Ertz
returning to Philly eleven catches for one oh four, whilst
McLaurin scored their receiving touchdown, but four turnovers, three fumbles

(08:27):
Eckler and the Army Brown on offense, McNicholas on the
kick return and then the pick from Daniels laid in
the match. That was the difference. You don't win matches ever,
being minus four in the turnover category, never ever for
the Eagles. Almost the perfect performance. Well, in fact, it

(08:49):
had to be the perfect performance. The defense was busy
and staunch, Jalen Hurts was efficient and accurate. Saquon Barkley
averaged almost eight yards per carry. They were doing their thing.
Ajo Brown got involved, Dallas God did he sing. Devonte
Smith had a couple of nice catches and all in

(09:12):
all a perfect performance from the Eagles. So the Eagles
move on the Commanders, They're on vacate, You're within Indiffe.
The AFC Championship again was the Buffalo Bills at Kansas City.
The Arrowhead Invitational and the Chiefs get it done thirty

(09:36):
two to twenty nine. It was seven to three Kansas
City after one busy second quarter. Kansas City scored two touchdowns,
as did the Bills. The Bills did all the scoring
six love been following the tennis six nil in the

(09:58):
third quarter, But it was Mahome and the Chiefs who
scored the points they needed going into the fourth quarter
down by one, they win the quarter by four and
they do their thing thirty two twenty nine. In terms
of the box score, Josh Allen was good, not great,

(10:19):
not superman. Two hundred and thirty seven yards and two
touchdowns through the air, only to thirty nine rushing yards
no touchdown. James Cook was fantastic eighty five yards and
two touchdowns on the ground. He also had forty nine
yards through the air, and matc. Hollins made two massive
catches seventy three yards on three catches and to touchdown.

(10:41):
The other receiving touchdown was via Curtis Samuel Mahomes was efficient.
He did his damage on the ground two hundred and
forty five passyards in a touchdown, but he had two
rushing touchdowns and ran the ball eleven times. Kareem Hunt.
Did he sing sixty four yards and a score on
seventeen carries? And Xavier Worthy xave you Worthy eighty five

(11:08):
yards in a touchdown. Where did they get save you
Worthy from? Yeah, they got him from the draft. How
did they get the pick? Oh, that's right, they did
a draft day pick swap with the Buffalo Bills. Wow,
talk about coming back to bite you. They also, if

(11:29):
you want to cast your memory back way back when
they did a pick swap these two teams, when the
Chiefs jumped up to draft p Mahomes. Wow, maybe these
two should cease. Maybe Buffalo should cease draft day trading

(11:50):
with the Kansas City Chiefs. So the matchup is set.
Philly and Kansas City the runners up. Buff and Washington
great seasons, but there's season's end, so we've got a
fortnite to get ready. And as I mentioned, we've seen
this contest before Kansas City and Philly only a couple

(12:13):
of seasons ago. It was at State Farm Stadium down
there in Phoenix or Glendale, Arizona. It was the Kelsey Bowl,
as the brothers went toe to toe and it was
the Kansas City Chiefs who came out on top. They

(12:37):
were just too good in that match. And look, both
teams played a great game. Jalen Hurts was fantastic, Patrick
Mahomes was fantastic. It was a high scoring contest thirty
eight to thirty five. But the difference in the matter,

(13:00):
which was basically was basically Patrick Mahomes. The only thing
I can see here in terms of major differences the
running back wearing twenty six for the Green team, Sakwon Barkley.

(13:21):
I'm not going to dive too deeply into the Super
Bowl just yet. I'll leave that for next week. In
terms of the season, thirty teams are done to remain
and I think for the most part, you might argue Buffalo,
you might argue Baltimore, you might argue someone in the

(13:45):
NFC the lines. You might argue there chances and their
claim to be in a Super Bowl. But ultimately there
are those that are not, and there are two who are.
And I can't wait. I would have loved to have
seen young Jaden Daniels and the Commanders in the Big Dance.

(14:08):
I don't want to love to have seen Buffalo make
it through. But it's the Eagles with their dead set,
downright crazy fan base heading to New Orleans, Louisiana, looking
for redemption against the Kansas City Chiefs, who are aiming

(14:32):
and gunning and trying to do something that's never been
done in the NFL. No team has ever managed a
three peet in the NFL. The Kansas City Chiefs are
one win away from just that, one win away from

(14:53):
doing something no one has ever done in the history
of the NFL. I can't wait for the contest. We're
going to have to wait. We've got two weeks, just
shy of two weeks. Wherever you're consuming the game from
make sure you lock in. This could be an absolute classic.

(15:14):
And I do get the feels that the scoreline of
thirty eight to thirty five we saw last time might
be what we see this time around. And before I go,
there's a little bit of news kicking around.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
You're within India, all right.

Speaker 1 (15:32):
Head coaching movements, if you don't mind head coaching movements.
There've been one, two, three, four, five, six new head
coach appointments and one still remains. So the Saints haven't
signed a new head coach. I wonder if Joe Brady
is their man. The Patriots, of course, bring back Mike Frable,

(15:57):
he's back in the fray as a New England Patriot.
Gerroed Mayo of course sent packing. The Jags pinched Liam
Cohne from Cohen, I should say, from Tampa Bay, and
there's some bad blood there. Chicago, of course picked up
the offensive guru from Detroit, Ben Johnson. He'll work in

(16:22):
tandem with Caleb Williams. Aaron Glenn the defensive coordinator for Detroit.
So they lose their offensive head coach and their defensive
head coach. Aaron Glenn will now coach the New Jersey Jets.
Pete Carroll is back in the fray. Pete Carroll is

(16:43):
the head coach of the Vegas Raiders, a fascinating appointment.
The fourth head coach on the payroll for the Vegas
Raiders and then finally the Cowboys. They hire from within
because their coaching staff are that good and have helped

(17:05):
that team perform so well that you just had to
bring someone from within. Brian Schottenheimer, the team's offensive coordinator,
is now the team's head coach. Make of that what
you will, it's pretty obvious Jerry wants to run the
whole show. He owns the team. He calls the shots
now he basically is a puppet master for the head coach.

(17:28):
So there you go, six new head coaches. Still waiting
for one more, and that is the New Orleans Saints.
That's about a wrap, short, sharp and shiny. The Bills
go down, the Commanders get torched, the Eagles are in,
and the Chiefs aren So we're all set. Super Bowl
fifty nine two weeks away. New Orleans, Louisiana can't wait.

(17:53):
I'm going to be at Marvel Stadium for the AFL
Maxfield Super Bowl Party. Make sure your check out their
socials or maybe mine to get yourself a ticket. Come
along for the day. There'll be some big time guests,
a big crowd, some great grub, and some great drinks
to be shared and enjoyed as this big game is

(18:14):
played and won the Chiefs and the Eagles. I'll see
you next week.
