Speaker 1 (00:00):
Bad for for Okay run rough T.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
The NFL season had been creeping along well enough, well enough,
but what we witnessed, What we witnessed toward the end
of the early games in this week's slate of NFL
action was autter madness, uta madness, total lunacy, craziness. We'll
(00:44):
start with Cleveland, Cleveland under the reign of famous Jamis
and apparently God, it was Jameis Winston and the Browns
who got the job done over the steam rolling Baltimore
Ravens and have a listened to Jaimes when we heard this?
(01:07):
Did we ever think the Browns would get baiting Jamis?
Speaker 1 (01:12):
I can tell you're taking it all in right now.
You're about to make your first start since twenty twenty two.
Ken Dorsey said that he's been preaching to you to
play smart but not conservative.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
What do you expect from yourself? This is the day
that the Lord has made I will be glad and
rejoicing it.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
You're looking really focused right now. You told us this
week that everyone inside this building believes that this is
the time you guys can turn it around.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
What's been the message on wavering with faith ultimate belief,
depending on the law that's all we got.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
You told me, no nerves, just excitement and butterflies. Still
feel that way.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
I'm wavering faith, ultimate belief, depending it's on the Lord.
Speaker 1 (01:51):
The message is clear, guys, Thank you Jamis, So there
you go.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
And he depended on the Lord and whether it was
the Lord of intervention or just his God given abilities.
The former number one overall pick went ham three hundred
and thirty four yards and three tuds as Cleveland rolled Baltimore,
their AFC North rival. How about that those stinking Jets,
(02:21):
the New Jersey Jets, they don't deserve to be called
New York. New York's too much of a magnificent place
to be brought down by the New Jersey Jets. They
stink even more and more every week. The losses are
piling up. They went to New England against the Patriots
(02:44):
who had beaten No. One and done nothing and got beaten.
So the Jets are two and six and they're actually
winless since acquiring DeVante Adams and sending Bobby Sala packing.
And they've got Houston on the slate this week. Arizona.
(03:05):
They rolled Miami as we somewhat selected in the Fab five,
and we'll get to the Fab five later. So the
Cardinals go on the road and beat Miami even though
two are Tagova Lowa makes his return. Atlanta beats Tampa,
Green Bay beats Jacksonville, and Houston beats Indianapolis. All games
decided by five points or less. How close. In fact,
(03:31):
the Packers and the Cardinals won via game winning game
ending field goals. So that was the early slate. And
then well we had art of madness. We had what
they call and Jameis Winston talked about the Good Lord
Jesus Christ, the unwavering faith. Well, I think the faith
(03:53):
wavered in Washington. The Bears did not give up a
touchdown in regulation tom but on one final snap, Jaden
Daniels believed, comes down to one last play, and it's
(04:16):
gonna be getting longer by the second. You're all to
be back at the thirty yard line. Now you can
step into it. Here comes to Hail Mary with the
game on the line and the balls to dods. It's
a miracle. Let's stew a brown. Oh my goodness, this
(04:38):
town is going crazy. Did a madhouse and landover Maryland.
He did it, He did it. Tony Romo, Jadeen Daniels
airs it out from inside his own territory. The Bulls
tipped by a dB by the name of Tyreek Stevenson
(05:03):
who was busy only seconds before hollering and mocking the
Washington fan base. He goes across after realizing, oh the
bulls and we're still playing here. He goes across and
tries to impact the scrum. The scrimmage basically marks up
in AFL terms, in your backyard as a kid. The
(05:25):
ball just lobs perfectly up in the air, off the tip,
off the ricochet, and into the hands of Noah Brown
for the win, for the walk off Tuddy crazy. The
game had been incredibly ho hum before that, only nineteen
points through fifty nine minutes and thirty five seconds. Then
(05:49):
the Bears scored dub Bears, and we thought, hello, what
to win this is? And then we have the walkoff
Hail Mary from Jaden Daniels to Noah Brown. Completely and
totally crazy. As I said, And when it comes to
Tyreek Stevenson, you've got a feel for the dude. I mean, sure,
he's being a fool, but he was waving at the crowd.
(06:15):
He was obviously yelling out, you know, Cyanara. The Bears win,
but gee, you've got a feel for him. How unlucky
can you be? It's the Carba bus running you over
and then backing up and having another go, just to
make sure you're done with Let's move along to Sunday
(06:36):
night football. It was a good once, but particularly early,
it was physical and it was dramatic, and the Cowboys
began really nicely. They were running the ball pretty well
with their twenty eighteen version of a backfield Zeke Elliott
and Delvin Cook. But the Niners adjusted, and that's what
they do so so well, particularly under Kyle Shanahan. They
(06:59):
make the adjustment, they work out what's what. The defense
stiffened and the offense did their thing. And on National
tight Ends Day, it was George's Kittle doing his dang
here it goes Kettle the right. George Kettle didn't say
the tea Kettle to the Pilon run.
Speaker 1 (07:20):
He is not just short.
Speaker 2 (07:22):
George Kettle stock off and he was short, but he
would score shortly afterwards. So San Francisco, as I mentioned,
adjusted beautifully. They scored sixteen unanswered points to take a
twenty six to ten lead, which would be commanding enough
it was a gallant but wasted Dallas rally late in
the fourth quarter. Dak Prescott threw a couple of touchdowns
(07:45):
in that final term, but all to no avail. And
and full disclosure, I'm sitting here recording on Monday night
before Monday Night football on a Tuesday for us because
it's the Steelers and the Giants and I'm not sure
it's going to be much of a game, so I've
(08:07):
decided to get in early and get some work done,
get the pot out nice and early. So apologies to
Steelers fans, even though I think you'll get the job done,
you'll get the dub. And apologies to Giants fans, but
the Giants think the Giants stink.
Speaker 1 (08:23):
You're within infair.
Speaker 2 (08:25):
All right. So to update where things are at, because
we're starting to get toward halfway through this NFL season.
From a standings perspective, the Buffalo Bills have cleared out
in the AFC East. They're six and two. The next
best is Miami at two and five. If you don't mind,
the Bills are threatens Zip at home two and zero
(08:46):
in the division. The AFC North is a bit more competitive. Pittsburgh,
of course, should have waited for them to play. They're
five and two with the chance to move a full
game clear of Baltimore. Engles dropped to three and five
ZIP and four at home the Bengals well. In the
AFC South, Houston are six and two. They're two games clear,
(09:09):
and the AFC West, the Chiefs are seven and ZIP
four and oh on the road if you don't mind,
already two and zero in the division. Whilst Denver, remember
we said Denver over five and a half was a
very very good bet. While they've won five and lost
three already one more and they tick that box, but
they do trail the AFC West. In the NFC aka
(09:32):
the National Football Conference, Washington get to six and two
on the back of that Hail Mary. Philadelphia are now
sneaking under the Raider. They're five and two with a
game in hand. Dallas dropped to three and four. We
took them under ten and a half two FYI. The
NFC South Atlanta moves to five and three. Tampa falls
to four and four. That was a big game between
(09:53):
those two teams. A big win for the Falcons Kirk
Cousins four touchdowns and the NFC West Arizona four and four,
San Francisco four and four, Seattle four and four, and
the Rams three and four. With the game in hand,
and I deliberately left the NFC North until last from
(10:14):
the bottom, in fourth position, unbeaten in Shytown. The Chicago
Bears are four and three, Hail Mary away from five
to two, Yet still they'd be in fourth position in
the NFC North, such is the strength of this division.
Minnesota were one of only two unbeaten teams in football
(10:37):
a fortnight ago. Well now they're third in their division
five and two. Green Bay are six and two thanks
to a sneaky and cheeky win over Jacksonville. And the
Lions are six and one, and again, I'll say it again,
I'll double down. They look like the best team in football.
They look like the Detroit Lions, the best team in football.
Speaker 1 (11:00):
You're with him, Indefe, sh.
Speaker 2 (11:06):
Sh here comes here we go money, Here comes the money.
All right, the Fab five will look back before we
look forward, because it's going to be difficult sitting down
this early, so full disclosure, we've got some work to do.
(11:26):
But we did go three and oh in the early
part of the weekend. Arizona plus three and a half
was nice because they got the job done outright. The
Lions and Tennessee. I said, let's take the over forty
five and a half because Detroit might score forty five
on their own. Well, they's got fifty two. And the
Ravens and Browns plus forty four and a half also
(11:48):
did the job quite comfortably. So we got to three
and oh, but we did miss on Carolina, so we
took those stinky Panthers and we got a shocking number.
We took the Panthers plus eight and a half again Denver.
That line got all the way out to thirteen and
a half and that missed as well, which I'm glad
because it would have sucked to have covered the thirteen
(12:12):
and a half and taken eight and a half. And
our final pick was Dallas plus five and a half.
It looked like we're going to win out right, and
I had something on Dallas to win straight up. It
looked like we're getting blown out, and then it looked
like we're going to get a backdoor cover. But ultimately
no good, no good. So three and two on the weekend.
(12:33):
We moved to twenty two and eighteen on the season.
Not bad. We've just got to keep punching out these
three and two weeks. Try and steal a four and
one or even a five and zero this week. Now
I've got six games, so check out my socials. Check
out my Instagram. It's my handle. I think it's at
(12:53):
Josh Jenkins zero four. I'm unverified these days, but check
it out for the final five when it comes to
the Fab five. But these these four are locked in.
I think New England plus three and a half at Tennessee.
I mean, are we sure Tennessee are even trying at
(13:15):
this point? New England off a nice win, yeah it
was in the division. But give me the Patriots plus
three and a half against the Titans. I'll take the
Rams and Seahawks plus forty eight and a half total points.
The Rams just look completely different with Pooka and Akua
and Cooper Cup in that squad. I'll take the under
(13:37):
forty seven and a half. Jacksonville at Philadelphia. This run
game eats the clock beautifully for Philadelphia, and I just
don't think Trevor Lawrence and the Jags will go into Philly,
go into that hostile environment and flourish on offense. I'll
take the under in that game. I'll take Denver plus
(14:02):
nine and a half points at Baltimore. I just think
the Broncos are a better football team than this line suggests.
I think this should be probably six and a half,
maybe seven, So we're getting a couple of points of
value here in my humble So Denver plus nine and
a half, and this is where I'm a bit torn,
So I've got to work my way through Dallas at Atlanta.
(14:24):
I like the over in both games, Dallas at Atlanta.
I've just got to work out which game I put in,
so just to give you that number, and it's close
enough to pick them in that game. The Falcons are
a two and a half point favorite at home, so
the total points they are over forty eight and a
(14:46):
half for Dallas and Atlanta. I think that's probably a play.
Whether we put that in the Fab five or not,
we shall see. And the other one I'm torn on
becomes Great Bay and the Lions. This is going to
be a beauty and absolute beauty. Now, Malie Willis might
(15:07):
be playing. Just check the status of Jordan Love. Just
check the status of Jordan Love. But this line, this
number has come up at forty seven and a half
and I'm telling you the Lions just keep on putting
up points. They probably go north of thirty here again.
And if they do that, it doesn't leave too much
(15:29):
work for the Packers to do, even if it is
Malik Willis, who we've seen play well for them this season.
So to summarize, we can lock in the Patriots plus
three and a half, we can lock in the Rams
and Seahawks over forty eight and a half, we can
lock in the Jags and Philadelphia under forty seven and
a half. And we can lock in the big stinky
(15:51):
underdog of the week Denver plus nine and a half
points at Baltimore. And I'll decide check on the socials
for the final Fab five whether it's and Atlanta points
over or Detroit and Green Bay points over. You're within
all right, pretty much time to get out of here,
(16:11):
only sixteen and a half minutes. I'll tell you what
it deserved more because the week of football was crazy.
Cray Z horse Racing continues to roll around as well.
I'll endeavor to get something out for Melbourne Cup Day.
It's a busy, busy week, so no promises. Derby Day
this weekend still only Monday night Fields aren't out for
(16:33):
another couple of days. Bendy Go Cup on Wednesday, Derby
Day on Saturday. Forget the Derby, it's old hat. The
races rarely churned out two or three good horses from
the same Derby in the past decade. It's the cool
More It's the race on Derby Day. You can call
(16:53):
it Coolmore Day. As far as I'm concerned, the Damien Oliver,
I think as a Group two race, it's on the card.
And when the girls group won the Empire Rows as well.
So there you go. And as I said, the fields
aren't even out. But if you forced me to have
a good look and have a pick, I was with
Docklands and the cocks played. I couldn't decide on the race,
(17:15):
so I just thought I'd throw him in at a
big price, and for about a split second I thought
he was going to challenge for his sustained But I'll
tell you what, even quicker than the split second, she
was often gone. So if you have a look at
the cool More stud stacks, it's going to be an
absolute beauty, an absolute belter of a race. My old
(17:35):
mate Private Life is in there, but I don't think
he can win this race, I'll settle on Switzerland. Five
dollars fifty for cool More in the cool More. What
could possibly go wrong? So Switzerland for me in the
cool More. When it comes to the Damien Oliver, some
good horses there, but back to Flemington we get a
(17:58):
bit better price. I'll go with another will, another will.
He was favorite for the two rack. He drew inside.
He didn't like it. He couldn't get the run he wanted.
I think he might have even led, but it didn't
happen for him. You can get about three fifty with
sports bet, which is where I shop. So he'll do
(18:19):
in the Damien Oliver and then the Mayor's Race. The
Empire rows. My girl Orchestral's there, but she's under the odds.
I'm not sure if Fangirl's going, but if she is going,
fifteen dollars is completely and utterly crazy. Else the fan
is interesting at eleven dollars, but it's hard to look
past a tissue as your favorite at four dollars sixty.
(18:43):
If she turns up inform on song, she'll be incredibly
hard to beat. And for the sake of it, I
know you're saying, well, it is Derby Day any chance
for a tip for the Victoria Derby. What I would
say is surely you can find better tips than mine,
but it's hard to go past Al Costello on the
quick backup after winning the Spring Champion. It was very
very good, very very tough, and he's short, but he
(19:06):
might be sweet. So there's a few looks at this
weekends racing. There's more coming up. As I said, Cup Week,
We've got Darby Day, Saturday, Cup Day Tuesday, Oaks Day
Thursday and Champions Day, which is my favorite day now
on the Saturday. To wrap it all up. Enjoy Cup Week,
enjoy the NFL. If week nine can be half as
good as Week eight, lookout
