announced himself that McCarthy is done. So his contract had expired,

and of course the team held those exclusive negotiating rights
with him, which prevented him from going and having interviews
with other teams. But he can do that now because
he is done a forty nine and thirty five record
as head coach of the Cowboys, but ultimately when they
made the playoffs, they just were unable to get it done.
