Speaker 1 (00:01):
Well, when it comes to throwing a Halloween party that's
more spellbinding than spooky, are there's one name Hollywood turns to.
Edward Paroti, dubbed the King of Halloween. He's the creative
force behind unforgettable events for a lists like Arianna Grande,
Nick Chinas, with party staged everywhere from the Louver to
the Great Wall of China.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Now, this award winning celebrity designer is revealing how to
bring that same wow factor to your home.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
From eerie, elegant.

Speaker 2 (00:28):
Decort to cocktails that cast a spell, He's here to
help create the ultimate haunted hangout just in time for Halloween. Edward,
Welcome live from Southern California.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Nice to see you.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
How are you doing.

Speaker 5 (00:40):
Yeah, it's warm here in southern California because I'm a
San Francisco boy and I want my fog.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
How you've worked with stars like Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas.
Do celebrities approach parties differently from the rest of us?

Speaker 3 (00:54):
With those big credit cards?

Speaker 5 (00:57):
Oh, right out of the gate you go for it
to chee. Yes, that is a can of worms. But
do they approach it differently? Can I say, big fat yes,
they approach it and then I'll just be very nice
and say then they walk away, and then they'll show

(01:17):
up the night of.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
But then we'll just leave it. We'll leave it right there.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
I love that.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Otherwise we'll thank you this side do. Otherwise you're out
of a job brought. We know it's all wrapped up
in secrecy. Are there any fun stories from those events
that you can share with us?

Speaker 5 (01:32):
I can. It is kind of funny. I talked about
this once before. I told a scenario and then I
put five names on the board. Mike, I'm not going
to say who, but you can pick from here there.
I had one client who wanted an all blue party
and fine, whatever they like, and in less than twenty

(01:55):
four hours before they decided that they wanted to wear white,
which meant everything peptical, white flowers, linens, lighting, wow, and
it's and it's the funny thing is you get the
hand wave sometimes just make it happen.

Speaker 4 (02:18):
You go and it'll cost you an extra X y Z.
So that's okay.

Speaker 5 (02:22):
Well, and the funny thing is this is where my
husbandould be the first to say.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
I'm a cheap date. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
I believe in spending the money on the experience, not
on a mood change.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Yeah, well you got you have some stories.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Hey listen, you've planned some of the most jaw dropping
events around the world. But when it comes to Halloween,
what's your secret to creating that magical Halloween ambience?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
The moment sort of guests walk in, you want the
big bang?

Speaker 5 (02:48):
I mean, honestly, it really it really depends where you're
doing it. I mean, right now, we're on a very
short runway to Halloween, right, I mean, it's it's Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
We're talking about Friday.

Speaker 5 (02:57):
But for words, think drama, think impact, think detail, and
think inclusion. Kind of hit those and you're going to
be fine. But put you put your thought process into
what do you want that bang to be?

Speaker 3 (03:14):
Right?

Speaker 5 (03:14):
It's you can't boil the ocean. Don't try and do everything.
Do not try and recreate something you saw in a magazine,
because that's not going to work. That's a moment in
time done by somebody else. But really really discuss to
yourself your inside voice, well okay, my case, it's my
inside and my outside voice are you all the time?

(03:35):
But really think about what is that moment going to
be when they walk in? What am I going to
hit them with is it going to be lighting, Is
it going to be music, Is it going to be
decor is it going to be the smell of the food,
whatever it is, put your put all of your emphasis
on that to create that initial moment.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
Okay, let's talk food and drinks.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
When you'll go to Halloween, cocktails or snacks that never
fid to increase.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
So I am really big and I'm pushing hard on
this trend. But in regards to inclusion, I'm pushing the
whole zero bar mentality, right. I mean we go out
to parties and we have our bars and then you
have your non drinkers or whatever the scenario is, whispering

(04:22):
in the corner like the red headed stepchild?

Speaker 3 (04:24):
Can I have that as a mocktail? Right?

Speaker 5 (04:27):
And so I'm flipping the narrative around on it with
a lot of events and I'm doing all the bars.
Everything is zero and then if they want it uplifted
with a spirit.

Speaker 3 (04:38):
We have fun ways of doing that, right. I mean,
for one event we're doing.

Speaker 5 (04:42):
We have little witch's bottles filled with rum and tequila
and gin and vodka and bourbon.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
Okay, drink that looks good, right? Right? Well, you're saying, right,
here was a blini bar. It was the concept for
a blini bar.

Speaker 5 (04:57):
And we filled the syringes with multiple different fruit so
you would grab your prosecco and then you would just
give your drink a shot.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Yeah, the orange Jason great for a juicy.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Yet very very cool. It also looks a little bit
expensive to do at scale. Not everyone has these Hollywood budgets.
What's one simple trick or sort of diy idea that
can instantly elevate a Halloween set up?

Speaker 3 (05:19):
You reckon? So.

Speaker 5 (05:21):
I don't know about you, but I have boxes in
my garage. I have boxes in my closet of stuff
from my grandmother's house, the core that I forgot about right,
shop your house. Shop your house first. Go to thrift stores.
Avoid it, especially now with the short runway. What's left
in those big box stores is that ugly plastic crap

(05:46):
that everybody has that has no creativity. What's behind it?
But go shop your home first. Go to those shrift stores.
Find those candlesticks that you can just cover in gauze, right,
find those moments, find those balls that are just cracked
or broken, or just things that you've forgotten that you
can then elevate, great idea.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yeah, amazing stuff, Edwarld.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
Thank you. We could chat forever. I'd love to see
some big scale stuff you do, but we're right out
of time. Lovely to see you and Happy Halloween.

Speaker 3 (06:18):
Happy Halloween. You guess up a good day.

Speaker 4 (06:21):
Thanks Edward
