Speaker 2 (00:12):
This year, Australia's awing Alexi brant He is stepping into
the spotlight, ready to represent our nation with confidence, class
and a touch of Ossie sparkle as she jets off
to Thailand in just a few short weeks for the
big event. And while the competition celebrates beauty and purpose,
there's one moment that always steals the show, and that

(00:33):
is the national costume reveal. Today we are bringing you
an exclusive first look at the gown Lexile deboot to
the world, a show stopping design that captures the very
essence of Australia. And we welcome Miss Universe Australia Alexi
Brandt to the studio with the exciting big reveal. We've

(00:55):
got a drum roll, here we go, let's see it.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Whoa, whoa, lets you well, No, welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
To the show.

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Thank you so much. I'm so excited to be here.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
She t us about the design and the inspiration.

Speaker 3 (01:15):
So this is based on Ularu, the designer is Tilly Walker.
She is nineteen years old from Brisbane and she's just
about to graduate from fashion school at the moment, so
I've got ularu on today. Tilly drew her inspiration from
the rich desert tones and the light that shines on
the surface, so it's a wearable landscape.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
Yeah, it's beautiful. That fit into the seven k of
handheld luggage that you're going to take on your flight.
Probably not probably have to book you some extra luggage.
I love if we're looking here at the skirt features.
I love it that's actually taken the rocks basically of
the Yeah, it's gorgeous.

Speaker 3 (01:52):
Four hundred pieces, all hand sewn by Tilly herself. It's
taken a month, so Tilly is absolutely incredible. For it's
an Italian fabric. It feels a little bit.

Speaker 1 (02:02):
Like fam How proud are you to represent Australia.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I am overwhelmed with pride, honestly, and to be wearing
the heart of Australia on a global stage and be
surrounded by that spirit just really overwhelms me with pride.
So good.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
Right, And there's also fifteen hundred semi precious stones that's
just in the colar piece. Take us through that.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
Yeah, so Tilly hand sewed all of this as well,
so it's absolutely incredible. And that is symbolic of the
light that shines on the rock and how you can
get all of the different shades and the lights, and
just how beautiful but simplistic the Central Coast Central Australia
really is.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Those stones are amazing. And I suppose Tilly was at
the Louver last week bon each how much input did
you have?

Speaker 3 (02:45):
I only had a little bit of input because when
I saw the design firsthand, I instantly fell in love
with it. Tilly did so so well I did, had
absolutely no notes, and to put this all together as
a nineteen year old almost about to graduate insane. I
put my hats off for it, honestly.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
So this is the national costume section of the pageant.
But this is just one of your looks. What other
looks are you planning to share on the stage in Thailand?

Speaker 3 (03:10):
So I've got my beautiful gown by Elin Lakout and
I'll keep that one a secret for now, but all
I can say that it is very true to me
and very glamorous. But apart from that, obviously, I'm going
to be in Thailand, So lots of color and lots
of pops of.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
Bright Okay, I love. The countdown of the finals is
on right, So how are you preparing in these final weeks?

Speaker 3 (03:30):
So? I've been going through a lot of runway training
and interview training with my coach Debra and my walking
coach Thelma. That has been really intense, but it has
been exactly what I've needed, definitely, and getting into that
mind and body reset is all I've needed.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
Yeah, and also you'll have to practice in this outfit
because walking with that collar could be interesting.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Well, definitely.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
Yeah. Have you connected with any of the past Ossie
contestants to get some sort of tips and tricks and guidance?

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yeah, definitely. So Zoe from last year has been an
incredible influence on me. Maria as well. Maria did really well,
she actually podiumed, and she's been able to give me
such incredible advice about body and mind reset and really
just portraying my authentic self, which has been exactly what
I've needed.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Okay, no doubt you're manifesting if you win the crown.
What kind of change would you be looking for? What
do you want to do?

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Well, I'm an occupational therapy student. So what I would
like to portray with my Crown per Se would be
children's health and wellcare and education. It's really often overlooked
as well, so if we can bring that to light
and make sure it's equitable access for all children around
the world.

Speaker 2 (04:37):
Oh you're good.

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Lovely to see it, and congratulations to hell till nineteen
about to graduate.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
Thank you for sharing the great unveiling with us.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
I love it.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I love it so representing all the beautiful colors of
the LaRue.

Speaker 3 (04:49):
Good luck, Thank you so much. When do you jet out? Thursday?

Speaker 2 (04:52):
Thursday?

Speaker 3 (04:53):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (04:54):
Will we watching closes? We will? By the way, just
about to graduate, do you get to mark? You get
marks for this, right, you get extra marks for this.
We're giving you an A plus plus.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Let's tell that to your lectures. H
