You love them so deeply and dearly. They're so close
to your heart.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
It was the Glass Glasses.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
Oh my God, this is so bad.

Speaker 1 (01:19):
I completely they're going to kill you. They went for
something called the Wavy Babies because of all right, but
there was another name flying around that was come I remember.

Speaker 3 (01:32):
Okay, sure, we're almost out of time.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Because it already fumbled that one. I'm teasing you. It's
kind of swearing glassholes, the glassholes. That's funny.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
You can swear.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
It's Australian radio.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
You can swear glassholes around a pause for glassholes. Everyone
out there just got them clapping well for the glassholes
listening around Australia heat waves.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Was it took Australia by storm?

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I mean, we love that song so cool and then
to have new music out, which we're going to play
here doing a big show Thursday night in Sydney. You
love it, Dan, Hey, you're here in twenty twenty two though, yeah, here.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
In twenty two. Here we've I mean, we've come basically
whenever where we can yeah yeah, yeah, but we can
face the flight now.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
Who tell me, like, who makes up glass animals? Because
you're here now, you're gorgeous and I've only ever spoken
to you when we talk about glass animals. But there's
more than just there's another three glass Yeah, yeah, shout
him out?

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Who the other glasslass holes. There's Drew, Yeah, I don't
trust him, that just don't, especially with directions. He always thinks,
you know, it's the best, but he doesn't good. Then
there's ed Is Toll, a bit like if he was
like an animal, would be like a mere cat. It's
like six foot night. Oh wow, he's tall, very very thin.
Yep yep. And then there's Joe, and Joe has a

(02:44):
very kind of aggressive, resting, mean face, but really he's
very lovely. It's a sweetheart. Yeah yeah, but when he
he's not thinking about his expression, he looks like he
might actually punch you. Really.

Speaker 4 (02:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
But altogether, you guys make some brilliant music.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
It works thanks like the Power Pup Girls, it's like,
you know, had little different.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
So what's what the origin story like? For those who
don't know, but who know the song, who know heat
Waves want to hear the new stuff?

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Where did you guys meet? You're not siblings or anything
fun like that.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
No, No, that would be I mean we basically are
at this point. We've for about since we were really young,
since I moved to England. Yes, they were like my
first and only friends. Wow. Yeah. I went to school
and they were the other people into music, so we
like hung out, went too shows and that was when
I was like twelve and now like twenty years later

(03:35):
something where we're still we're still here. That was it. Yeah,
we're just cool music. People love it and yeah. I
started making music when I was at university and then
showed it to Joe who's now our drummer. He didn't
even play drums at the time. Wow, but he was like,
this is pretty good. You put it on SoundCloud. Put
it on SoundCloud, it went did its thing, wow, and
I was like, Okay, this has gotten out of hand.

(03:56):
You need to be in this band with the touring Australia.
Now we're here. Bunch of glassholes, a bunch of glasses.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I love saying that.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
You told me that.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I love saying it. I'm going to feel really naughty
and cheeky. Creatures in Heaven.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
The new single off the upcoming album You was it.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
You's gone through something, But the lyrics is a song
who Broke Your Heart?

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Did You Break your Heart? Mystic? Such sad happy? You
need a Heart? Is that what's going on?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Or did old you need a what happened?

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well, you know what, it's not. It's not a it's
to me. It's not necessarily like a romantic song. It's like,
it's almost like it's kind of about a friendship, but
about how it kind of ended a bit, but the
friendship ended too early. Oh sometimes it was friendship. It

(04:46):
was good that it ended early. Well no, no, no, no, no,
it was sad of course, but like the fact that
it exists in the first it's about it's kind of
about how like a moment, even though it's something that's
like too short, it's still wonderful even though it's maybe
too short. I get that. I get that.

Speaker 3 (04:57):
So no relationship.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
So you single right now? Right now? Yeah? I mean
I I my private life to myself.

Speaker 3 (05:05):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Your fans are called the glassholes. Yet you draw the
line at love line makes make it makes sense. I'm
just trying to get I thought, maybe there's an Aussie listening.
We could we could potentially send them to one of
your shows.

Speaker 1 (05:16):
But oh, so I have a dog.

Speaker 3 (05:19):
That's hey, that's love of your life.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
I love him, Yeah, adorable. Yeah, I've seen your dog
on your Instagram?

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Have you?

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
No, no, no, we love you, well listen before we
let you go. There is something we need to address,
something we actually need to do. Davey Wavey. Last time
you were on the show, I believe this was about
a year. Yeah, we were discussing your Is It a
television show? But you were on is it a podcast
where you discussed different types of cereal?

Speaker 1 (05:47):
Oh my god, Yes, I had cereal bars. I was
doing like a little show where I was basically tasting
very strange cereals from around the world with people and
then making music with them, which was.

Speaker 3 (05:59):
Cool concept. No, the concept UK TV very loosey goosey.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
I think I don't know that I'd ever work in Australia,
but I love the idea. That's when I suggested this,
when you come to Australia, we'll get you some Aussie
cereal because I think we may have some unique ones,
even some wheat bigs or something like that.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
You're gonna have to say as soon as we come
over there, Yeah, we'll come in. We'll do a little tasting.
I was going to say, when you come in studio,
here's my word.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
I will have a bowl of Milo cereal and a
score chart right in front of you and we will
will have a bowl.

Speaker 1 (06:27):
Absolutely, I would love that.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
So, Dave Animals, I will direct you to what is
in front of you. Please remove the cloth from the table.
The yellow cloth in front of you lies three of
Australia's greater cereals and we will be completing the full
circle moment. We are doing our Aussie cereal taste tests.
Wonderful with Dave.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
From Glass Animals. I'm so excited for this.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
Last time you were here on Zoom you're in the UK,
I was, yeah, I was here. You were telling me
about a TV show you were doing where you eat
different cereals with different celebrities, different musicians, and I said, well,
let's next time.

Speaker 3 (07:01):
You're in Australia, let's taste some Aussie.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
Cereals and you've You've come through.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Of course, producer Grace was on Uber Reads today. I go,
I sweating, like, what cereals do we get?

Speaker 1 (07:11):
Dave? What's an aussy cereal? We need to google?

Speaker 3 (07:13):
What is his British cereal? Winston Churchill Puffy Puffy is
are different things. I can't say that, Oh I can.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Say that, but I we were like, got all these
British cereals we wanted to make sure they were aussy
ones for you.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
This is I've I haven't tasted no cocoa I've had.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
Okay, well, don't ruin this right, don't run surprise.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yes, oh my god, they don't have a very good
health rate. They have a terrible health rating that you
guys have on things.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Don't worry about the health rating.

Speaker 2 (07:36):
Obviously, we're gonna We're just gonna relax and we're gonna
enjoy the aussy cereals. So day from glass Nils. I'm
gonna direct you. I've got the milk on the table. Oh,
so you can pour your own milk?

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Is it? Is it? Oh?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
Yes, it might not be in date.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
We don't. I'm gonna. I'm just gonna smell it. Fantastic.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Do you think you have no respect for me in
this progress?

Speaker 1 (07:58):
All right?

Speaker 2 (07:58):
First, cereal is an excitable OSSI favorite. It is the
sanitarium wheat bix.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Now, why don't you describe what you're seeing? And is
this foreign to you?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Do you enjoy? I would say this is we have
a serial called Wheata bis. This looks similar. This is
slightly more rectangular, sharper corners. It looks I would say
very bland and it look why are you looking at
me when you said that? I was you are not
in any way, but I'd say it looks like compressed cardboard.

(08:31):
But that is when you That's the great surprise about
beta bis in England is like it looks it looks disgusted.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
But a lot of Australians start their day with wheat bis.
So yeah, it's a it's a it's an assy favorite.
Poor your milky, Yeah yeah, okay, oh wow, wow.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
He's pouring the milks. You help me to make it up?

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, yeah, it might be a bit central.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Go for it.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Yeah, it's quite hard to hear, but Dave was boring
everyone and we can guarantee that I get it.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
That sounds like it was. Let's discuss that sounds awful,
all right.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
So weetbeats. You can have soggy, you can have hard.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Someone told me they microwave it the other day.

Speaker 2 (09:09):
Yea, yeah, yeah, people hit we bias. You can also
add some sugar on it. People had honey bananas given.
I like them hard and I like him sweet. So
that's that was using am on some apps that I've
got too, So yes, So why don't you enter the
music off day for animals.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
It's a serial number. Sound disgusting when we this, but
whetbeats don't make eye contact. Weird you were looking at me? Okay,
think about it. Hm hm out of ten good, I'd
say six and a half.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
All right, Hey, that's a good start. That's pretty good
for some bland wheat.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
I think we'll take it.

Speaker 2 (09:51):
Let's move on quickly to what I think quickly, Dave,
I'm not rushing. Grace and I U and I tried
to find an exclusively aussy cereal and as far as
we know, this is only available in Australia.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
It is the Kellogg's nutri Grain. I've never seen this
in my life. Yeah, it's got, I'd say it's got. Well,
it's got four star health rating.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Yeah that sounds great, don't worry about that. It's got
an iron man on it. This is marketed as the
cereal for athletes. That's why I thought of you in
the aisle straight away.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I do I do come across as enough. You're a runner.
I know you run?

Speaker 4 (10:25):
Do you?

Speaker 1 (10:26):
How do you know this? My research?

Speaker 3 (10:28):
They call me young, they call me a young interviewer.

Speaker 1 (10:31):
I can't think of Instagram? Is you following me yesterday was.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
In that run in the rain. Okay, so try nutri grain.
I will say this is my favorite cereal in Australia.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
Is it? It's good? It says protein fiber, multi grain. Oh,
this looks very good, B vitamins, good, crunch, delicious. Like yeah,
I'm gonna say seven and a half. Wow for that one.
That's so good. That is I'm going to have to
bring this into These are all gifts for you as

(11:03):
a very nice man on the back.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
That's an iron man. All the athletes take it. Freeman Day,
Ali Day.

Speaker 1 (11:09):
Oh yeah, one of the greats. Very good.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
Yeah, Nutribate's delicious and that's your gift to take.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Are you serious?

Speaker 3 (11:16):
It's not a very big gift. Don't be so excited.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
I am very take it.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Last one last move on cereal number three day from
Glass Animals. You were trying a childhood favorite in this country, Grace.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
You grew up on these, didn't you.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
I was not allowed to eat these as a child.

Speaker 1 (11:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
These are a special occasion, a special treat.

Speaker 4 (11:33):
You had to have them on holidays.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Yeah, I can see why. It says two stars.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
Well, Dave, these are just like a chocolate milkshake. Only crunchy.
This is, of course the famous cocoa pop.

Speaker 1 (11:42):
They're famous and I know why they're delicious. Do you
have these? We have these in England.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
What are they called cocoa but they called cocoa pops.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Yeah, yeah, I think these, Yeah, imported from England. That
says on the back. No it doesn't, no, no, no,
it was made in Australia from at least ninety five
per Australian ingredients.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
At least ninety five. That's that's what you want.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
At least the longer you leave them in the milk,
the more chocolate.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Yeah, you get. The chocolate is just a winner. I
can tell it's already going to.

Speaker 5 (12:14):
Be like a yeah, I reckon good crunch Oh wow,
you know what putting some thought.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Good but not as good as I remember. Really yeah,
oh my god. So what did I give the nutri grain.
I've written it down. I'm going to say seven point
five again. Wow, they're nick and nick, they're tied. Yeah,
even though the health rating. You know, you think as
the health rating goes down, it should get more delicious.
That's just the law of Earth. And I don't that

(12:46):
didn't live up to it. Wow. Yeah, especially next to
the nutri grain, which is great the top.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Yeah, he's rolled his eye and feast everyone. That is
the Great Australian Serial Debate Annual. We'll do that every year,
now every twelve months. That's a bench off on the show.
We'll have to get you back.

Speaker 1 (13:01):
But I have a present for you. What I didn't
give it to you?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
Well yeah, oh my god, cut the music everyone.

Speaker 1 (13:07):
I didn't know this was happening. Yeah, so I got
you this, but it is an Australian cereal. Oh I've
never had before. Oh my god, you've got me Milo,
I got you Milo. I mean, I'm sure you've had
it before I have? Is it good?

Speaker 3 (13:20):
Tew me up the value. He's a sharpie. If you
could just sign that and that'd be brilliant.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
Are you gonna why don't we give this or should
we give this away on the show to a glass hole?

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Glass? Give it to a glasshole? You might not have
many takers.

Speaker 3 (13:35):
If you want Dave signed mylo cereal.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Well, you know, I hate to be I know I've
invited you to my show and then I've got you

Speaker 3 (14:15):

Speaker 1 (14:16):

have loved it.

Speaker 3 (14:19):

Speaker 1 (14:35):
