Speaker 1 (00:39):
Happy Wednesday aka hump Day aka Maddie.

Speaker 4 (00:43):
J Is back Day.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It's great to be here. I do have tomato juice
on my pants. So you say, what was that, Britt?
I was on time, but I have a mess on
my pants.

Speaker 1 (00:53):
All right, Well let's just pretend we didn't see it
or say that. Hey question, are you friends with an X?

Speaker 5 (00:58):
Like?

Speaker 4 (00:59):
Are you one of those people that like maintain some
kind of like a.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
Friendship, I'd say friendly. Would I go and have a
catch up for coffee? No? I wouldn't.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Didn't you go? Correct me if I'm wrong? Did you go
to your ex's wedding?

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (01:11):
Yeah, so you're friends with it?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
I said, no coffee, but weddings I would go to.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Yeah, I will solidify you marrying someone else. No. I
read an article this morning to study from someone that
studied something that said people with stronger psychopathic traits are friends.

Speaker 4 (01:25):
With their ex okay, and you just sprung to mind.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
I was like, hang on, Mat went to is ma
a psychopath is my new co psychopath.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
I might have a couple of bodies in the freezer,
but that's nothing to do with it.

Speaker 4 (01:35):
But that's what the tomato sauce is.

Speaker 6 (01:39):
Hey.

Speaker 1 (01:40):
Look, I was like, Matt's my new co host. What's
you gonna want to talk about? And I thought Taylor
Swift The Life of a Showgirl, the new album I
Am Converted.

Speaker 2 (01:47):
I poke my hand up and say, back in the day,
I would be the person saying, what's all the fuss about?
She's not that amazing? But do you know who converted me?
Marley Marley, Yeah, you do it. I would drop her
to daycare every morning. We would listen to the best
of Taylor Swift. And now I'm like, do you know what?
She's pretty good?

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Do you want to know what I think is really interesting?
This isn't what I want to talk about, But here
we are. When Taylor like broke onto the scene when
she was like thirteen years old, right, it wasn't cool
to like Taylor Swift like you were a bit of
a loser.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Like she was a bit of a.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
Nerd at the start, and if you liked her, it
just wasn't cool. But now it's like the coolest thing
in the world to be a swifty.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
It's like crocs. Back in the day, they weren't cool.
Look at them now. Taylor's CROs is essentially like crocs.

Speaker 4 (02:28):
She would hate that comparison.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
But she has just released A Life of a show Girl,
which everyone is obsessing over. And something unusual for Taylor
is she's doing a lot more interviews. So she's pretty
private usually, like she puts her instas out, but she
doesn't give a lot. But since she's been with Traverse,
she's been way more open. But there was a bit
of like a moment with an interview she did a
couple of days ago where she sort of shut something

(02:50):
down really quickly.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Have listened to this, Taylor, don't tell me this is
your last album?

Speaker 5 (02:55):
What?

Speaker 6 (02:55):
No?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
I just saw some fans going, well, she's going to
get married and she's going to have children.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Last album's shockingly offensive thing to say.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Absolutely, it is not the last album.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Not why people get married.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
No, exactly that whole right, I think the minds were
just panicking.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Oh, I know they love to panic sometimes, but it's like,
I love the person that I am with because he
loves what I do and he loves how much I
am fulfilled by making art.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
I'm sure he also loves a billion dollars.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
In a BANKUACI.

Speaker 4 (03:28):
But I did think I actually get it.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
And I don't want to say that I'm similar to Taylor.
I mean we are in many ways. My husband Ben
lives in Italy, Like we have been together three years,
we're married and we've never lived together, and I am
constantly getting this like when are you going to move there?
Why aren't you living with him? Like why an't you
settling down? You're married now? And I was like, hey,
guess what because I also like my career, Like I

(03:51):
don't think why is it synonymous with like, oh, you're
married now that.

Speaker 4 (03:54):
You have to go and give up everything you're passionate about.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
To you know, I don't want to sound dumb here,
but would you find the defensive if people would ask
that question to you?

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Probably not as offens as as she found it, I
feel like to me, her response felt a bit like
this is the one hundredth times someone has said it
to me, I felt like it was a bit of
the straw that.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Broke the camel's back. Yeah, but it is.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
It's like people say to me all the time, and
I'm like, cool, because you know why.

Speaker 4 (04:17):
I like my job. I like being on radio.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
I like what I do here, Like I don't want
to give that up just to support my husband when
I can support him from this side of the world
as well.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Although when I did marry Laura, I really did clear
the schedule. I was like, I'm bording my feet up,
I'm looking after the kids and I'm cooking dinner nothing else.

Speaker 4 (04:33):
Yeah, and that's worked out well for you because here
you are taking.

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Well, Brittany. I'm very excited to be here because we're
about to do something very exciting today. If you were
listening and you were expecting a baby, you're assumed to
be parent and you're struggling with a baby name, give
us a call, because we will you and me on
the pickup name your child on air.

Speaker 4 (04:55):
I love this, do you know.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
I wanted to call my child that I don't have,
but the same name that I've called my dog, and
I was like, maybe I'm not going to have a kid,
so I called my dog Delilah, and now I can't
use Delilah for a child.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
That's a rookie error.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
It is hey shot ma Early.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
When it comes to naming your actual child, you can
call Taylor Humphrey. She is a baby name consultant, and
if you don't know what that is, here's a little Listen.

Speaker 7 (05:18):
My name's Taylor Humphrey. I'm a professional baby named consultant,
and today we are going to help this family find
the perfect brother's name for big brother Harlow and big
sister Frankie. Harlow and Frankie are great examples of modern
gender neutral names that have a bit of a vintage flair.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
I'm going to offer some off the.

Speaker 7 (05:38):
Wall suggestions Harlow, Frankie, and Whittaker Galen, Tigue, Bellamy, Callum
or Banks.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Sorry people are paying her.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
For that there bang big Bucks?

Speaker 4 (05:51):
Like what kind of dollar?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Well, she has a range of packages. Okay, so you
can scale it up.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
Get a middle name.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You can scale yah, I mean I think so. I
mean it starts from about two hundred dollars, is like
the base package, but it can go all the way
up to a VIP treatment, which is worth thirty thousand dollars,
and she's doing pretty well. I mean, in twenty twenty alone,
she named over a hundred babies pulling in get this,
one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

Speaker 4 (06:18):
Oh my god, what happens if you have a hyphen
in there?

Speaker 2 (06:20):
I mean, that's just big money. But as a parent,
it's a really stressful task having to name the child,
like for Marley, Lola, Poppy, all three many debates, late
night discussions between myself and Laura. Tension was high.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Do you know what I'll say? I don't know if
I'll get in trouble.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
For this, But you guys were so because obviously I
work with Laura every day for last six years. We
spent a lot of time together, and you guys were
so set on the third baby's name, Poppy. And then
about a week out of giving birth, I said, how
are you feeling?

Speaker 4 (06:51):
You're still sold on Poppy?

Speaker 1 (06:52):
And Laura said not really, She's like not anymore. And
I said, oh, are we revisiting the name? She goes, now,
I can't be bothered. It's too stressful. So she's like,
I'm still going to use it, but she almost unsold
herself on it, and then she was like, she needed
a consultant, she.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Needed Taylor right now. But I think it makes a
lot of sense and credit to Taylor because she's doing
really well. And I don't think there's a lot of
competition in this market except until now.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
You and me, Maddie Imi.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
We are on the hunt for soon for newb parents
who may be at their wits end. Okay, the relationship is,
it's stressful right now. So if you are struggling to
find a baby name that you both agree on, if
you're maybe on your third, fourth, fifth child and you
have given.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Up, if you're on your fifth child, give up.

Speaker 2 (07:37):
But that's where we come in, britt. And are we
going to charge money for this? No, we're not. Oh
we're not first time service, free of charge.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Okay, same time though, yes, Okay, we're going to split her.
If it's a boy, are you going to do it?
If it's a girl, I'm gonna do it. How are
we going to do this?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I think what we do right is when we find
someone who calls in, we ask them a couple of questions.
We need twins at a little backstory. You suggest the name,
I suggest the name and then we give it to
the parent to make the final decision.

Speaker 1 (08:03):
Okay, this is exciting. I'm down for this. Well there
you go.

Speaker 4 (08:06):
If you, for.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Some reason or in your pregnancy journey and cannot for
the life if you think of a name, let Maddy
j and Brittany Hockley name your child.

Speaker 4 (08:14):
That sounds like the worst I you've ever had, but
I'm down for it. Let's do it. Hey, Mannie, what
do you got for us today?

Speaker 2 (08:20):
Well, a little earlier, Brittan, we were talking about a
lady called Taylor Humphreys and she is making headlines all
around the world because she's charging up to thirty thousand
dollars to name your.

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Child, which is insanity.

Speaker 2 (08:32):
It is crazy, and I thought, you know why, let
Taylor have all the fun. Okay, we can jump on
the bandwagon too. We can start naming babies. And we
put a call out to see if there were any
people expecting a newborn who needed some help, and would
you believe it, we have a caller. Here she is,
here's Lara.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
Welcome to the pig arp And it is actually shocking
that we did get a caller someone that does want
to let us name their baby.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
How how far along in your pregnancy are you?

Speaker 6 (08:56):
I'm twenty seven and a half weeks and yeah, my
partner and I have just really gone back and forth
and just don't know what to call on baby.

Speaker 2 (09:05):
Well, Lara, you've come to the right place and very
as a first time offer, we will not charge the
thirty thousand dollars feet today is free of charge.

Speaker 6 (09:14):
Oh, thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
Is this Lara? Is this your first child?

Speaker 6 (09:20):
Yeah, it's my first baby. I'm having a little baby boy.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Oh okay, Well, this is what we're gonna do. We're
gonna ask you a question each We're going to try
and find out who you are in your deep in
your soul, and we're going.

Speaker 4 (09:33):
To come up with a name.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Lari, You're going to get two suggestions. Okay, then it's
up to you. You don't have to pick it. You
can have it marinate for longer, but we would love
it if you would pick your favorite suggestion, Mine or Britt.
But first question is, if you had.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
To pick, are you more of a Taylor Swift or
a Metallica kind of person?

Speaker 6 (09:48):
What a waste of the question Metallica.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
Oh that changes a lot.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Okay, Lara, what street did you grow up on the
name of it. Please.

Speaker 6 (09:59):
It was Thornton Road.

Speaker 4 (10:01):
Okay, Thornton Thorn. Okay. That takes me to flowers. What's
your favorite flower?

Speaker 6 (10:07):
My favorite flower would be a daisy? Okay.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
I funly, you're having a girl.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Do you have a favorite food?

Speaker 6 (10:16):
Lara, favorite food would have to be tacos or you're.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
Like kind of a person. I am a yeah Mexican
three times a week. Okay.

Speaker 1 (10:26):
So if you had to describe yourself in three words, what.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
Would they be?

Speaker 6 (10:32):
Loyal, lioness? Are you London? Honest?

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Last question if I made Lara, I just want to
know the name of your first pet Christmas.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
It was a little rabbit.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I love that.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Okay, it's also a holiday.

Speaker 2 (10:45):
Okay, you've lived quite the lion of Flara. I'm not
gonna lie. You've not made this easy for us.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Well, no, do you know what?

Speaker 4 (10:51):
You laughed at my question, Matt?

Speaker 1 (10:52):
But I think my question was probably the one that
differentiated this the most, because, like, there's a big difference
between who you are if you're a metallic or.

Speaker 4 (10:58):
A te swift.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
So do you know what the names that came to
my head straight away? This one's probably a bit more popular.
But Leo, you said you were, you said you're a
lion and you're loyal, and yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:10):
I love that name.

Speaker 6 (11:14):
I'm actually Leo as well.

Speaker 1 (11:15):
I knew it July and you know what, so am
I I'm twenty first of August, so I'm a Leo
as well.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
So I think we channeled that. And then I was afraid.

Speaker 1 (11:24):
You might not love that one, So I went a
little bit left field in that two minutes that I
had and I've gone with something like Ezra, and I
know that's a bit different, but something about when you
went Metallica, I thought you needed something a little bit edgy.

Speaker 4 (11:38):
Yeah, so I've gone with Leo and Ezra doesn't like it.
All right, let's pretend that didn't happen.

Speaker 6 (11:46):
It's a little hard for me.

Speaker 8 (11:47):
Okay, Metallica they were they were adequate suggestions from Britt,
but we save the best to last.

Speaker 2 (11:57):
I'm just going to come out right now. I've gone
for a hyphenation as well, just a manager expectations. You
want double the money, and I've also thrown in the
middle name as well, So I'm just going to come out.
I'm going to give it to you who it is
the best name you've ever going to come up with.
It's thorny D thistle.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
It sounds very different, like very close to something else.
Thorny appropriate for a child.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
Yes, you can't thorn thorny hyphen D for D for
the daisy Christmas horny D.

Speaker 6 (12:35):
It does. Yeah, I have to agree.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Is there a favorite? What's your pick?

Speaker 6 (12:40):
Yes, there is a favorite. I think I fell in
love with it the first yeah moment you said it,
and it was Leo. And I actually bought a little
Leo lion boy for the baby today. So it's actually
all kind of.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
I'm such a believer in the universe. I talk about
the universe all the time. There is definitely you never
talk about the I'm a believer, and I think the
energy you have put out there today, the fact that
this happened. You've called me organically I'm a Leo and
I felt that and I said that name like, I
think that's what it's going to be.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I feel like such an awkward third wheel right now.
I'll leave you guys do it. Laura, thank you so
much for congratulations.

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Please let us know, paul Us if you end up
having a baby in

Speaker 1 (13:19):
Called Leo, I will I will thank you
