Speaker 1 (00:10):
Heart podcasts, he more Kiss podcast playlist and listen live
on the free iHeart app. It's too Yeah, I'm glad
you're calling it what it is now.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Well, no, it's not a too pey, but I'm just
being funny. It's a cliping fringe. It's a clipping fringe.
I walked in this morning and I was like, oh,
we're back here. We're trialing that again. Well, can I
shut up? Can I just say? Two people complimented my
new haircut today. They didn't even know it was fake.
One the woman that works at the cafe. She serves
me my coffee every day, and she said, great new

(00:43):
hair and I was upfront with her, It's not mine.
I said, it's fake.

Speaker 1 (00:47):
It's a Russian lady Russia.

Speaker 2 (00:50):
And she was like, wow, I never would have know.
She might have been lying.

Speaker 1 (00:52):
I never would have known.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
And then Vlad, who is on security, he also called.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
He also recognized the Russian fringe.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Was I like that?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
No, no, So I do have a clip on fringing,
but it's there is a reason I bought it a
little while ago, just because I wanted a fringe, But
now it has come to be a bit saving grace
So I am on day five of skin cancer treatment.
So to catch up to speed, maybe you heard me
speaking about it last week, or maybe you follow me
on social media because I am I'm sharing a lot

(01:21):
on socials. But I don't have skin cancer, and I
want that to be known. It's like a pre treatment, right, well,
it's called pre skin cancer, so it's not just a
treatment that anyone can get. You go to a skin clinic.
I went to a specialist, and a lot of people
are asking me about this. Where did I go a
dematologist or a GP or a mole map or whatever.
I went to a skin cancer specialist for my checkup,

(01:43):
and on the checkup, she noticed a few things on
my face that are called solar keratosis. They do have
a few names, but it just means that it's nothing now,
but if it's left untreated, it is highly likely that
it will turn into skin cancer. So you do have
to have these specific spots to get these treatments. You

(02:04):
can't just go and like say, hey, I want to
burn my face off for precaution, because.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Like, but that's a different clinic. You just go there.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
And so, knowing that I had these dangerous spots, you
go and get the treatment and for the next week
to two weeks, depending on how bad your skin is.
If your skin basically some people goes like your whole
face will scab up and go red and blister.

Speaker 1 (02:25):
When you spoke about last week on the show, I
was expecting this week for you to come in and
to look like I don't even have a reference. Yeah,
it just looked like you've really been through the wars.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Well, the reason it's not laws is because I did
this same treatment two years ago, right, so the doctor said,
And if you remember when I did it two years ago,
it was bad. My face was like open wound, like
scabs and stuff. So because I've done it before, it
means every time you do it, the nasties are less
and less scabby. But I had to like treat my
forehead three times more than the rest of my face

(02:57):
because there was more damage there. And now my forehead
is like a scaly alligator. So I was like, bingo,
I'm gonna wear my clip in fringe.

Speaker 1 (03:03):
I'm sorry to give you such heat about your clip
in fringe when it's really just because non purposes. Right now,
did you know what I.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Did on the weekend, which you have to laugh, but
you're not allowed to go into the sun. Basically, it's
like a topical chemotherapy that goes on your face that's
activated by a light at this special clinic, and then
your face will burn, but it makes you hyper sensitive
to the sun, so you cannot like have sun on you.
But I have an Australian shepherd dog that I still
need to walk, so I like put on these big sunglasses,

(03:30):
lathered my face in suncream, got a really big bucket
hat to cover myself, like it went really deep, so
it covered to my nose, and I drove to the park,
like I didn't walk.

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Did you walk around with an umbrella as well? No,
but I shave should have.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
But I was trying to go early in the morning
and late at night and stay out of the sun. Anyway,
because my bucket hat was so big and my sunglasses
were so big, and I had so much cover in me,
I literally chaoed myself. I walked straight into this tree branch,
like this really low hanging tree branch, to the point
that like I got neck pain. I hid it so
hard chasing my dog, went off my feet onto my
back and just lay there on the ground and I

(04:05):
was like, this is a real low point for me,
and justuse I can't see out of my hat. So
it's like it's been a real moment for me, and
so for you to come and attack me for my
two page days.

Speaker 1 (04:16):
So I'm just sorry. But honestly, like I said earlier,
you can barely tell I really thought it was gonna
be so much worse. And it's also kind of a
nice testament because I think that these things can feel
really scary and sound really scary, and then seeing you
come in and you look like I literally didn't know.
I was like, why you're wearing your fringe? Agar?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I am covered with covered. I did put makeup on today.
There are still some wounds under my makeup and stuff.
But I do just want to say I know there
are people in the car listening right now that have
been putting off your skin check because it's one of
those annoying things if nothing's wrong and nothing's jumping out
at you, it's like I don't have time to go
to a doctor, And.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Yeah, I get it, But also this is something you've
You've spoken about this a few times in the show,
and I think it's a really great reminder for everyone
we live in Australia. We all know. I mean, we've
all seen the slipslop slap ads and producer Grace. You're
getting some stats together for us, but one thing that
you wrote down here is that skin cancer causes more
deaths in Australia than transport accidents every single year, and
that is insane when you think about those statistics, that's
really frightening.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Last thing I want to say is the spots on
my face that were nasty didn't even look like anything.
If you looked at my skin, you would have thought
it was fine. Like they're just a little tiny, tiny
discoloration or freckles. So it's like, if you are thinking, oh,
there's nothing to be worried about, I'm not getting a check.
If you haven't had your check in a while, it
could literally save your life and you two could get
a clipping fringe.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
It's a bobus
