Speaker 1 (00:10):
I heard podcasts, he More Kiss podcast playlist and listen
live on the Free iHeart app.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Matt, you are looking great today.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Shut up, that's so forced.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm not. You got like a tonally kind of green
rain for a shirt eye.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
I'm not buying that. Come on, you actually.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Don't do playing. You know you you wear quite a
lot of patterns and stuff.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I'm not.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
This isn't going anywhere.
Speaker 4 (00:31):
I'm just throwing you a convers This is weird. This
is weird. I don't like it.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
Okay, well, let's move along. I won't compliment you again.
Speaker 3 (00:36):
Do you need a lift home? What's going on?
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Don't?
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Actually?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Do you know what?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
I got a nail in my tire yesterday. That really
put it down. You know how Sometimes you get a
nail in your tire and it's a really slow burn,
like it can go out for days and you can
sometimes you can avoid fixing it.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
You can just keep going and popping out with it. Yeah. Well,
this one went down in front of my eyes.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
It was like scraping across the ground. Anyway, That's not
what I want to talk about. I had an interesting
conversation with a friend of mine on the weekend, and
I want to get your thoughts on it.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Okay, So so she just made a comment.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
We're just chatting about things we've watched or read recently,
and she said, oh, I've read three.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
Books this week, well three in a week. I said wow.
In my head, I just thought, how is that even feasible?
I was like, they're not on public transport. I'm trying
to think of the times when you're reading a book,
you know, like when you could read a book. She's busy. Anyway,
I made the comment I've never seen you with the book,
like when are you getting the time?
Speaker 1 (01:32):
And she said, oh, they're audio books, so that's not reading.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
And we got into this little discussion where she's like.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, I'm reading like like eighty books a year or something,
and I was like, it's a podcast.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I hate to break it to you, you're not reading.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
That's like someone saying I'm reading books by having an
audiobook listened to is like saying I've walked so far
and I've been dripming around in the car.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
It's not the same.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
It's a pretty good analogy. Actually, it's very similar.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Anyway, we had this proper discussion and she sent me
some stupid article that she said, no, Look, I've looked.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
Into these people saying it's reading.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
I was like, but it's physically not the act of reading,
Like listening and reading.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
Are two separate things.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Anyway, Apparently there's like a plethora of people on the interwebs.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
It's dividing the nation.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
I don't know if it's dividing the nation. I wouldn't know.
It's not the paper bags, Pauline Hanson.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
It's definitely interesting to me that there are people floating
around out there that are conflating the two things.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I don't want to be harsh here, you know, I
like to have a soft touch.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
But they're idiots, these people.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
They you weigh in, it's not the same.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
I think you can still get like the nutrients from
the book by listening to it. But then how would
you word it, I'm consuming a book because I guess.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
That technically you could just say I listened to it
the book.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
It's not that hard, that's all right.
Speaker 2 (02:55):
All you guys have done is validates, and.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Then you could say I'm digesting.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I would say, if you want people to think you're
reading more than you are, I have consumed like three
books this.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Week, I'd say, like that conus.
Speaker 3 (03:07):
It sounds like you're off. Yeah, like no, because if
you want to if you're eating books, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (03:14):
If you want you know, because consuming doesn't have to
mean edible, like consuming can meet a lot of like
you're consuming shows, it just means you're taking it in.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Ai is making this country done, slash the world a
lot dumb?
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Oh my god? Are kids? They got no chance?
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Sorry, no, I'm going to die on this hill. You
can say consuming it's like you consume media. It's actually
a saying, right, grace, No, it is.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
It is.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
It's just I would look at someone weirdly if they
said they were consuming books.
Speaker 3 (03:42):
And right now I'm looking at you real weird.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
All right, well go and look at Will and weird.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
We're going to get out of here. If you have
a different opinion and you think that listening to a
book is the same as reading, don't bother calling us.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Okay, so Will, what are you going to drive your
home
