Stop saying "I'm feeling stuck",... no more "I just need some clarity before I move forward". The time to move is NOW!

In this episode I guide you to understand how your own limiting beliefs around the ideas of clarity, confusion and feeling like you can't move forward, can actually be what's holding you back. I'll share how I sabotaged myself around social media, how I came to understand this limiting self talk, and how I moved forward with insight and action.

(00:25):

I'm your host, Georgie Stevenson. Join me as we explore parenthood, business, manifestation,

(00:51):
and so much more. It's positive, it's practical, and it's
about putting you in the driver's seat of your own life.
Are you ready? Hello, my loves, and welcome back to
the Rise and Conquered Potty. I'm so excited to be
back in your ears in twenty twenty five. I know

(01:13):
we've been in twenty twenty five for a while, but
I just wanted to say happy New Year, and I
hope that you guys are feeling fresh. You're feeling inspired
and motivated and all the things. I had such a
lovely holiday. My parents stayed with us for about two weeks,

(01:34):
which was beautiful because obviously just a lot of family
time and my parents just they treat me like a
child in the way of they just look after me.
They cook and clean, and you know, they're just very doting.
So I love when they stay with us. So in
this episode, I want to talk about if you're feeling

(01:57):
stuck or confused and you're like, I'm just not certain,
I just don't know, I'm not sure. Obviously, you know,
if you want a very generic answer, you can chat
GPT and you will get very generic stuff like, you know, reflect,

(02:20):
reconnect to your why, journal through it, break it down,
declutter your environment, experiment and tests, and let go of
perfection and look, that is amazing And I feel like
those things, you know, can really really help if you're
not feeling clarity. But I wanted to bring in another

(02:41):
conversation which just might be something that you haven't thought about.
With the new year, most of us are looking for clarity.
We are looking to feel certain, we are looking for Okay,
this is what I'm about, this is what I'm going
to do, and I understand it and I have a

(03:01):
plan and I feel really really good. So when we're
not feeling like that, and we do feel this confusion,
this uncertainty, not having clarity. I do believe it can
be limiting beliefs and blocks that we are giving ourselves.
And when you unmask why it's happening and why it

(03:26):
might be happening and really kind of dig deeper, you
can then find the clarity. Or if it's not finding
the clarity, it's just like realizing that you're probably overthinking it.
And I know, like clarity is one of the biggest
blocks and limiting beliefs that keep us small and keep
us stuck. So that's what we're going to do in

(03:48):
today's episode. We're going to unmask how you can move
through uncertainty and step into your next level with clarity.
I wanted to give you, I guess, like shadow work
perspectives of lack of clarity. Again, like you said, like
if you want a very generic answer, I'm sure there's

(04:11):
a lot of like podcasts and youtubes and stuff about
it where it's just like generic answers of like clean
your environment, do a least blah blah blah. But I
wanted to really get you to think about could this
lack of clarity be you not wanting to move forward

(04:34):
because subconsciously you know how uncomfortable it is, how this
next action might be actually the thing that quantum leaps you,
and that might scare you because often we can use

(04:55):
lack of clarity as a reason to why we haven't moved.
So if you know, your friend or your mom or
your sister's like, well, if you don't like your job,
why don't you quit, And it's like, oh, well, I'm
just I'm not sure what I want to do. This
might be consciously or unconsciously, and so it can stop
us from moving, and you can become obsessed with trying

(05:20):
to find the next level, trying to be clear on
the next step, trying to be clear on what you
have to do next, rather than taking action. Do you
see what I mean? Like you're saying you're stuck, but
that's what's keeping you stuck. So if you do know
that you want different and you want to move different,
and you want something different, and you're talking to your

(05:42):
friends about it and your you know, your mom and
your sister and what not, but you're like, I really
hate my job. I know it's just not for me anymore.
I don't want to do something different, but I'm just
not certain on what I want to do, so I'm
going to stay in it. Do you see how like
the uncertainty is keeping you in that cycle? So again,

(06:03):
we are creatures of comfort. We love to be comfortable,
and I get it. It's like when we are comfortable,
we are certain. Even if it means you're certain of
the outcome you don't want, that is still going to
be more comfortable than when you're not certain of the

(06:24):
outcome you don't want, but that might be the thing
you want, if that makes sense. So then rather than
taking action, we will just continuously say I'm uncertain, I'm unclear,
and it feels good because we have identified that we
don't want to stay where we're at, But it gets
to keep us where we're at. And I really think,

(06:47):
you know, if it's not consciously, it's this subconscious thing
that you're doing. And it also protects your ego because
our ego again is a beautiful thing where it does
keep us safe and comfortable. So your ego will give
you things like, oh, well we can't move towards certain Well,
you're just not clear about this, whereas really it's about

(07:10):
taking the action and moving through it and getting clear
as you go. So this can show up in a
few ways. So you might think about what you want
and then it just immediately scares you, and a limiting

(07:32):
belief pops up of why you shouldn't do that thing,
and you squash the dream, and then you lean into well,
I'm just not sure what's next for me. An example
of this is maybe you're like I said you maybe
you're stuck in that job you hate, but you say
I'm not sure what I want next, but you do

(07:52):
know what you want next, Like, you might not be
very specific on like I want to be blah blah blah,
but I'm sure you know how you want to feel
when you wake up, how you want to feel with
the people around you. So maybe it's like you don't
like the job you're in, but you know you want
to be in a job where your boss respects you,

(08:15):
your other colleagues inspire and motivate you. You have flexibility
for your side hustle, you can pick your work hours,
you know, blah blah blah. Even if you're like, I
don't know the exact thing, you will know the feeling.
You will know your values and like the surrounding specifics.

(08:37):
I guarantee you. But this is when the confusion comes in,
because it's easier to stay still. And that's the thing is, like,
you know, maybe you want to jump to like a
whole new industry, and that really scares you, and that
really scares your ego. I've had instances with clients with
you know, my alumni where they are saying, I'm confused,

(09:02):
I'm like blah blah blah, and they actually believe it,
like they're not lying to me. And then like once
we understand what their ego is trying to do, once
we understand how subconsciously they're scared, they don't want to move,
they don't want to be uncomfortable, no joke, they get clarity,
but it's like their ego will literally make them feel confused.

(09:25):
Like I'm definitely not saying you're lying about the confusion
or the lack of clarity. I'm saying, can you dig deeper?
And is there a level of you are actually extremely
clear on what you want, but you're scared or there's
a limiting belief or it's easier to sit in the

(09:47):
blah blah blah, but I'm not sure blah blah blah.
But I'm just feeling confused. I actually caught myself out
with this this morning. I was on a walk with
my partnerships manager, so she helps me any relationships, so
you know, like my partnership with LSKD. I don't really
do a lot of ads or anything these days. But

(10:09):
she's a long time girlfriend too, So we went on
a walk together and I was saying the words I
just feel really confused about like the content I want
to create and like who I want to be on Instagram,
And she kind of turned around and she's like, Georgia,
what are you talking about. You know exactly who you are,

(10:29):
you know exactly what content you enjoy, what you want
to watch on Instagram, who you want to be on Instagram.
You're just not being maybe completely honest with yourself about
like how you want to go about it, or like
you're limiting beliefs or blocks or you know, like maybe
you're scared what people will think, call blah blah blah blah.

(10:51):
And I was like, you know what, You're actually completely right.
I do know, And this is like a question you
can So it's like if anything was possible, if whatever
outcome you want was possible, if it didn't cost money,
if it didn't hurt anyone, if no one could say

(11:11):
anything to you, what would you do that will bring
clarity because most of the time it's like we do
have clarity, we're just worried what other people think. We're
worried that it's too uncomfortable. We're worried that we won't succeed,
We're worried that it's going to be too hard, it's

(11:31):
going to be too much, et cetera, et cetera. So
I want you guys to just be very conscious of
where you're saying I'm stuck, where you're saying, you know,
I don't have clarity, where you're saying I'm confused. I'm
not sure. It's fine if you feel like that big

(11:52):
dig deeper, because I guarantee you that's not actually the problem.
The problem is like in my scenario, I was caring
about like showing up in a certain way, and I
said to her, oh my god, like and I had
the aha moment of I think now that I am

(12:14):
a bigger, you know, Instagram account, if not all my
content is doing extremely well, I feel like a failure
because that's not it. But it's like I have such
a high expectation of my content. So when it's like
not doing all extremely well, I'm like, what's the point,
which is so dramatic of me? And so then I

(12:36):
get in this like, well I don't even know what
anyone wants for me or blah blah blah, and it's
so far from what I know and who I am.
But again, it's all encompassed around limiting beliefs and my
ego trying to keep me in this place where I'm
not getting criticism. What I've realized, sometimes I won't try

(13:00):
very hard because like if things don't go well or
I don't get the result I want, I'm like, well
that makes sense because I wasn't really trying. I'm sure
a lot of you use that that. It's like one
of my huge things that I do. I will deliberately
not put effort into something, but still like kind of
do it. And so when it flops or fails, I'm like, oh,

(13:20):
well that makes sense, And it's such a big shadow
of mine because I get to hide behind it, I
get to not move, I get to be okay being subpar,
and you know, all those sorts of things. So that
went often a bit of a tangent of all my
own shit. But I just wanted to give you an example.

(13:47):
I think the first thing is just being really really
honest about like what could you be benefiting from not
having clarity? Doesn't mean you're more comfortable? Does it mean
you get too plain about things? Like you know what
I said about the scenario with your mum or your sister.
It's like, do you get to constantly have that conversation

(14:07):
of like, oh, but I'm not sure what I'm going
to do. I don't I'm not sure what's next. I'm confused,
Like we actually get hormones, we get dope. Mean when
we get too winch and complain, that's why a lot
of us do it. So it's like, is that you
get to stay in this like damsel distress story? So
I think like the first thing is just being very
honest of like what are you benefiting from not moving forward?

(14:32):
Like me, I'm benefiting from not trying as hard as
I know I could in certain aspects because if it
flops or fails, I don't have to be disappointed. So
that's how I benefit from that, And for my ego,
that feels better because it's more comfortable. The next thing

(14:53):
that you could really think about to overcome. This is
when something pops up because guys, like your brain is
so intelligent that it is giving you solutions all the time.
Like it's just it's how we are wired. If you
are squashing it or saying no, I'm confused, no, I
don't have clarity. I guarantee you it's because limiting beliefs

(15:17):
are there and you really need to look at them
and change them into a core belief. So, like I
was saying with you know the content of like, well,
if I post the content I want, I'm going to
be criticized. That is a limiting belief. I don't actually
even really have evidence for that. So what limiting beliefs
are coming up? And how can you change that to

(15:38):
a core belief in the work that I do. Limiting
beliefs are beliefs that limit you clearly, and we all
have them. Limiting beliefs can feel like truths, but they're
not truths, but they do usually have evidence. So we
often have limiting beliefs because there's like something that happened
in a previous scenario that made us believe that. It's like,

(16:01):
for example, this is a very like blanket one. But
it's like if your dad wasn't around when you grew up,
you might have a belief that it's like men don't
show up, and it's because you have evidence that was
your experience. So to you that feels like, no, that's truth,
like that's how it is, but it's not actually truth

(16:22):
because we know there's a lot of men who do
show up who are amazing dads. But that is your experience.
But that would cause you to have limiting beliefs around
then maybe future partners or bosses or you know what not.
Basically think of it. Limiting beliefs give us biases and
it's like, well I can't do this because of that,

(16:43):
So just be conscious of your limiting beliefs. Again, I
probably explained to that very quickly, and I do whole
courses on this. It is very deep work. So just
notice the limiting belief and when I say change it
to a core belief, it's just flipping what that app is.
So for example that I'm going to be criticized if
I create content and the core belief, you know, it

(17:06):
could be an opposite belief of the more authentic I
am on social media and the more authentic content I
put out the more popular I become, and that's the
core belief. It's the opposite. And so that's what I
really want you to do, is like notice the limiting
beliefs around your lack of clarity and then start changing them.

(17:27):
And see because even saying that core belief, I had
a reaction my body where I'm like, oh, yeah, like
I even know that I actually have evidence of that
core belief. So what you need to do with the
core belief so it is like you do need to
believe it. So it's like you constantly journal on it,
you write it down, and you get it to the
point where your ego can grab it and be like, Okay,

(17:47):
that is a new core belief that does feel safe,
and that's when you'll notice the clarity you know, coming
through and the confusion lifting. So guys, that's again I
just feel like that's something a lot of people don't
think about when they think they're stuck or they don't
have clarity. I wanted to talk about, you know, some
other things that might you know, be the shadow effect

(18:10):
of confusion and not having clarity. They're the two things
of like perfectionism and thinking that you need to know everything.
I honestly believe us as humans we have this thing
where we're like, but just tell me it's gonna work out,
and then I'll do the thing. Like I said before,

(18:31):
it's like, well, just tell me if I put in
a lot of effort, it's gonna succeed, and then I'll
put in a lot of effort. But it's not how
it works. You need to release the need to know everything.
And this is coming from someone who was previously absolute
control freak in everything I did and also huge perfectionists.

(18:55):
So like, releasing the need to know everything is so
important because I guarantee you you're like, I hate my job,
I hate what I'm doing, but I'm not clear on
what i want. Like I said, I'm sure you know
what time you want to wake up, how you want
to feel around the people that you want to work with,
how you want to feel with clients, how you want
to feel during your day, Like you would know those,

(19:17):
but there would be things that you don't know, like
maybe the exact job. Maybe you know if you'll be
good at it, like those sorts of things that would
keep you in the well. I'm not going to take
action because I don't know, a bit left field here,
but like with manifestation, like surrendering with manifestation, your manifestation

(19:41):
and being the you know this or something better, I'm
going to let the universe guide me. I'm going to
surrender is like the biggest block that most people have
with manifestations because it's like ordering, you know, an Amazon parcel,
and then once you order it, like instantly going to
the door and like looking for the postman even though

(20:03):
you know you ordered it, you clicked it, You've ordered
a thousand items before, and you know it's going to come,
but it's like you're constantly checking the door, you're checking
the order, You're like checking, oh, where's the postman now?
Like you can imagine your experience during that time compared
to if you just shop and then you wait for

(20:24):
it to rock up and then you go do something
else and then it rocks up and you're like, oh,
it's here, amazing. And I think most of us do
get stuck in this confusion or lack of clarity because
we don't know, so we choose to stay frozen. That
feels better to us. And again it's like in the unknown,

(20:46):
could you thrive in the unknown? Could you actually figure
out something that It's like, oh my god, I never
thought in a million years my life could look like
this or this could happen, or I could meet this
person or et cetera, et cetera, and it could turn
out like better than you could have imagined because you
have released this need to know everything and have everything

(21:08):
figured out and let go of like the perfectionism of like, well,
I need the perfect answer now again. Going back to
my story with my partnerships manager this morning, I need

(21:28):
again I'm laughing, but it's like I need like a
posting schedule, I need like blah blah blah. And she's like, Georgia,
that's literally the opposite. She's like, maybe if you were
a first time creator and you needed some sort of guidance,
but she's like, you've literally been doing this for eight years.
You know what content you like filming, you know what
you know your audience responds to. You know, like you

(21:50):
don't like, you don't need that. That again, is like
a crutch. That's like a thing. It's like, well, I
need this in order to get there, or I need
this in order to have that. It's like a distraction. Yeah,
let me figure this thing out here first, which actually
doesn't matter. It keeps us small, it keeps us stuck,

(22:13):
it keeps us unclear. And also, if we're talking about
in the grand scheme of things, I have done so
many things in my life which hasn't been the thing.
Like when I finished my law degree, sorry I finished
up in my like corporate law job. I didn't get

(22:36):
stuck and like, oh, I'm not sure, I don't know
what's going to happen. I really was like, well, let's
just see what happens. And I tried a whole bunch
of things. I created like a food eat book. I
went on like a couple of like I went on
a gym shark influencer trip, you know. I did a
whole bunch of things, started doing YouTube differently. I did
a whole bunch of things that I wasn't like, this

(22:58):
has to be the thing, this has to be the
end goal. But it was like trying things. And then
what eventuated is my life now, which is naked harvest
and rise and conquer and really feeling like so secure
and certain in who I am and what I do.
But I had to like move, I had to figure
some things out. I had to like get to know myself,

(23:20):
I had to discover things. So I think there is
such a power in not having it all figured out
and not having the exact three step formula and not
letting the confusion and clarity get to that's even like
I have a girlfriend and she always has these incredible plans.

(23:44):
She has like a service based business, and she always
has these incredible plans to like make extra money or
like kind of scale them, so she's not using her
time for money, and you know, whether it's like courses
or like you know, certain things she could do in
her business. But again, it's always like she has this
idea and then it's like, oh, but I'm not sure

(24:05):
if it's gonna work out, and then like she never actions.
And it was interesting because we were talking about something
and I was like, wait, haven't you been talking about
that since like COVID And she's like, oh, yeah, I know,
but it's like she's only just taking the action.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
Now, and I'm like, godfriend, like I've probably failed three
businesses in that time, Like just start just it doesn't
actually have to because.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
That's the thing is it might be a total flop.
I heard this really great quote and it was like,
if you knew you were three failures from like the
million dollar business or like the dream life or the Dreamman,
like three dates or blah blah blah, how fast would
you fail? How fast would you take action? You absolutely would,

(24:52):
and you wouldn't give two fucks. So it's like, why
are we not just taking action? And I feel like
the whole I'm confused, I'm uncertain. It is this place
where we get to lean into it and we get
to stay stuck and stay frozen and complain about like,

(25:15):
oh well I'm not certain, so I'm not going to move.
And again it just it keeps us small, it keeps
us stuck, and I really feel like if you don't
play into it, it's not your reality. So again this morning,
I was like, yeah, you're right, like I'm not stuck.
I know exactly what i want to do with my
social media and I'm gonna do it. I don't have

(25:36):
to have a twelve month social media plan. I just
get to be like, no, I am actually clear, I
do know what I actually do, and even that like
telling myself, I'm actually like telling my ego, I'm telling
my subconscious brain and it will be rewiring pathways to
make that happen. We actually don't realize how much power

(25:58):
we have over things like clarity. The whole confusion thing
is a state of mind, but clarity is a state
of mind you get to actually pick. Trust me, I'm
saying this with so much love. I know those feelings
you feel they are real, and I'm not saying they're
not real. I'm just saying, can you lean into the

(26:20):
possibility that you feel comfortable? What are you gaining by that?
That's like the best thing I did last year was
any time that I was in a state of mind
where it felt like you know, negative or starkle, just
like not good. I'm like, actually, what am I gaining
from being in this? And that was always secondhand gain,

(26:41):
which is basically just like it's almost like the gain
that you're not proud of. It's the well when I complain,
I get sympathy from my mom. Growing up, my mom
would be you know, I'd be like, oh, you know,
the girls at school are like teasing me about this
or whatnot, and she's like, oh, baby, come here, you're
the best, You're so you're so pretty. And so that

(27:02):
is me getting secondhand gain because it's not actually good
that you know, people are teasing me and I feel
like crap. But I get sympathy from my mom. I
get love from my mom. So do you see how
that is secondhand gain? And so my subconscious, who loves
being comfortable, who loves love, is like, this is perfect.
We get to stay here. So again, just really being honest,

(27:24):
really checking with ourselves. This is all self inquiry stuff, guys.
This is stuff I try to constantly do because everything
is a mindset game. Everything is you hacking your own brain.
So I wanted to bring these to light because again,
I feel like this has really got me thinking about

(27:44):
it a couple of things, and if you are feeling
stuck or uncertain, this might be something to think about.
I love you guys so much. I hope you're having
an amazing start to the year, and I will chat
to you soon. Bye, Lustrous Christi
