Speaker 1 (00:11):
You're listening to a Muma Mia podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
Mamma Mia acknowledges the traditional owners of land and borders
that this podcast is recorded on Good Morning Darling Spillers
Ash London here, and I am so excited to be
(00:34):
with you once again, filling up that celebrity cup, getting
you ready for the day ahead with all the celebrity
news that happened.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
While you were sleeping, because I've been a for hours baby.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Today We've got a Dawson's Creek reunion, my defense of
Celeste Barba, and the return of Emily in Paris, which
do you know, it's technically meant to be Emily in Paris,
Emily in Paris and rhymes.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
But of course we just say Emily in Paris. But
I digress. Let's spill some tea first up.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
One of my favorite subsets of celebrities are older, super
hot women who have been acting forever and are somehow
getting sexier. Examples Meryl Street, Monica Balucci, Diane Keaton, and
of course Helen Mirren, who is eighty years old and
still cool af She's hit the press circuit for her
new movie, the adaptation of the best selling book The
(01:23):
Thursday Murder club where she starts alongside ex Bond star
Pierce Brosden, who I have to admit, and this is
a bit weird because I think I was like a
young teenager and he was probably in his forties or fifties.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
But he was part of my sexual awakening. Can I
say that? Well, he was. But anyways, A.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Reporter asked Helen Mirren a very interesting question on the
press circuit about the future of the Bond franchise.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
The iconic British franchise. Is it time for a female Bond? No, No,
it wouldn't work.
Speaker 2 (01:53):
Some do something else. You know that there have been
some amazing women who've worked in the secret services and
with incredible courage.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
But James Bond, James Bond's a gar a bloke. You
just can't you know, you can't avoid it.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Really, I've got to say read and like Helen, I
consider myself a staunch feminist, of course, but Bond is
kind of steeped in a history and it's supposed to
be a bit of a player. Dare I say even
a womanizer. I think in recent times they've written a
character in a way that maintains his essence, but he's
more kind of of its time, and Daniel Craig's character
does such a great job of doing that.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
I also feel like any.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Actress who takes the role on is opening yourself up
to so much criticism.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
We've seen how this plays out in the past. I
just don't think it's worth it. Maybe we need a
money Penny spinoff. I mean, I would watch that unpilaus.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
While we're talking about The Thursday Murder Club, I'm probably
not supposed to say anything, but hey.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
I love to break a rule.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
If you're a fan of The Thursday Murder Club, and
you should be because it's a seriously funny read. We're
about to announce something very exciting on this title in
the next week or so, so stick around.
Speaker 1 (02:59):
I've got you.
Speaker 2 (03:00):
Next up, the original cast of Dawson's Creek are reuniting
on stage for a charity fundraiser, with James Vanderbeek, Michelle Williams,
Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Moore reuniting a live read
of the pilot's script. The event is in support of
f Cancer, a cause especially close to the cast's heart,
as James van Derbeek battle stage three colorectal cancer Michelle Williams,
(03:22):
who is producing the event, shared the following statement, we
grew up in Cape Side and that's a bond that
will last a lifetime. We wanted to gather around our
dear friend James and remind him that we are all here,
we always have been and we always will be. And
I know the fans of Dawson's Creek you feel the
same way.
Speaker 1 (03:36):
So great.
Speaker 2 (03:37):
The event is happening in NYC on September twenty two,
so no doubt we'll have some footage of the reunion
soon after.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
Up next, big news for Emily in Paris Bans the
weight is niarly over Welcome back.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Australian comedian Celeste Barber, famous for her ruthless takes on
over photoshopped, overproduced celebrity images, has come under fire by
some fans for appearing on the front cover of Marie
Claire their issue. They're convinced the images are retouched, photoshopped, whatever.
Now I've seen the photos and she looks absolutely stunning.
Because she is absolutely stunning, And if I may weigh in,
(04:14):
I think we just need to let Celeste do whatever
the hell she wants to do. She shows more vulnerability
than anyone else I can name on her socials, showing
her body in all of its beautiful normalness constantly. Let
the woman wear a gorgeous dress, let her have her
hair and makeup done, and have some nice studio lighting.
Is it too much to ask? Honestly, she doesn't actually
owe anybody anything. I'm so opposed to this idea that
(04:35):
women need to be everything for everyone all the time.
She's done so much for us, so much to normal
as our bodies or bodies. I think this is such
a great reminder to show kindness not only to our friends,
but also strangers.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
On the Internet.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
And finally, huge news for Emily in Paris fans, the
show is back and heading to Venice. Netflix has announced
that season five of the hit series will premiere on
December eighteenth, which means we have.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Just four months to go until we get more of Emily.
The official description of.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
The season is as follows now the head of Asian's
Grata Rome, Emily faced professional and romantic challenges as she
adapts to life in a new city.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
But just as everything.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
Falls into place, a work idea backfires and the four
at cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks. Seeking stability, Emily
leans into her French lifestyle until a big secret threatens
one of her closest relationships. Tackling conflict with honesty, Emily
emerges with deeper connections, renewed clarity, and a readiness to
embrace new possibilities.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Outa garey any of that?
Speaker 2 (05:36):
I just want to know, is it going to be
Marchhallo or Gabrielle? Hashtag team Marchello. Four months to go? People,
