Speaker 1 (00:11):
You're listening to Amma Mia podcast. Mamma Mia acknowledges the
traditional owners of land and borders that this podcast is
recorded on Good Morning you absolute babe face McGee ten

(00:35):
out of ten certified hoty ash London here and I
am ready to spill the tea with you this morning.
And today it is all about the MTV Video Music
Awards which happened yesterday. I got all the details, all
the goss, all the winners. Now, I just want to
start off by saying I have actually been to the
MTV Video Music Awards a couple of times over in

(00:58):
the States, and it is one of those things that
when you're there in the room, you're like, oh, this
is cool, and then you see it on TV and
you're like, wow, this is absolutely amazing. And another thing
that's really cool is that when you're like in the crowd,
you can kind of see where the famous people are sitting,
like the area where your Lady Gagas and your Katy Perry,

(01:19):
and often they will just come out for like ten
minutes and they'll be there and then they'll get ushered
off to either perform or to accept an award or
give out an award. Or sometimes they only really come
to the whole thing for like ten minutes, like they
do the Red Carpet, They sit down for a while,
get the shots of them sitting there, and then head
on out of there speaking which Lady Gaga actually left early,

(01:44):
but she had a very good reason, and I'll tell
you about that a little later. But now it's time
to get going. So the VMA's happened in New York
City and it was across genre extravaganza with literally something
for everyone. A Song of the Year went to Rose
and Bruno Mars for their megabanger a Petre or apt

(02:05):
Here's Rose hitting stage.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Oh my gosh, I can't really this, she so much.
I've prepared something because I didn't want to mess this up,
and I feel like this is a really big moment
for myself and a lot of other people, and so
if you don't mind me having to speed through this quickly.

Speaker 1 (02:26):
She then went on to a four and a half
minute speech, which is anything but short, but hey, get
a girl. Mariah Carey got the big Video Vanguard Award,
which I suppose is kind of like the Lifetime Achievement
Award for a lifetime of incredible music. Videos, especially in
the late nineties early two thousands. Absolute Supreme Ariana Grande
handed her the award and it was so awesome hearing

(02:48):
Mariah shout her out.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
The smaller man is very heavy.

Speaker 1 (02:58):
I don't know, she's so little and she's gonna hold
its tutors.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I love you.

Speaker 1 (03:04):
I'm so grateful for you, and I'm beyond proud of
everything you've achieved.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Girls Bake goodbye.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Thank you so much MTV for giving me the van
Got award. Also, one of my favorite humans, kind of
pop punk rocker Young Blood hit the stage for an
Ossie Osbourne tribute. Here's him on the red carpet beforehand.
I'm ready as a rabbit on Easter, telling you, I mean.

Speaker 3 (03:34):
We got a very special tribute, Tonay, what can we
expect from that tribute?

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Just good old rock and roll in the name of
the King Man and guys. He was not lying. He
absolutely delivered on the goods. Here's him on stage alongside
Steven Tyler paying tribute to Ozzie stick around. More from

(04:04):
the MTV Video Music Awards when we return, including the
man responsible for my thirteen year old sexual awakening twenty
five five years ago, who has still got it in
his fifties. Welcome back to our VMA's Rap on your
morning tea. This morning, for the first time, the Latin
Icon Award was handed out, and this year it went

(04:26):
to Enrique Martin Morales aka Ricky Martin aka the man
who owns My Hut now and forever. And yes he
is coming to Australia for a tour in November. Yes
I am going with my bestie Shaz shout outs, two Shares.
He did a five minute medley of songs which included
the likes of Maria, the Cup of Life, Live in
the Vida Loca, Shut Your Bombond, and then joyfully accepted

(04:48):
his Latin Icon Award.

Speaker 4 (04:49):
Well, thank you so much because it's been forty years.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
Forty years.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I started when I was a baby, working and we're
still here.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
We just want to unite countries, we just want to
break boundaries, and.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
We just want to keep keep music alive.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I want to dedicate this award to my kids.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Love you, Ricky. Sabrina Carpenter performed paying tribute to Brittany
with a very wet performance, doing a silver brawl atte
situation reminiscent of Britney's. She then went on to a
two awards Best Pop Artist and Album of the Year,
if is Short and Sweet with this very inspiring speech.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
This world, as we all know, can be so full
of criticism and discrimination and negativity. So to get to
be part of something so often more than not, that
is something that can bring you light, makes you smile,
make you dance, and make you feel like the world
as your I am so grateful, so grateful to do that.

(05:52):
So thanks everyone here, but most importantly my fans are
just You've been there for me.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
So thank you to the big winner of the night, though,
it was Lady Gaga who won Full Video and Artist
of the Year. She accepted her award and thanked her
partner before heading off for very good reason.

Speaker 4 (06:08):
And so, my partner in all things, Michael, creating this
year with you was a beautiful, beautiful dream, and you
have been my partner every step of the way. I
dedicate this to you, To my love. I wish I
could stay and watch all these amazing performances, but I
have to go back to Madison Square Garden.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Let me what an absolute badass Lady Gaga, a queen
forever that has been Today's at morning tea. Thank you
so much for hanging out with me. My loves Morning
Tea is hosted and produced by me Ash London, with
executive producer Manisha is Warren. Make sure you follow This
