The protest condemns the move as a threat to free speech.
The letter highlights the dangers of retaliation against artists and
journalists for their opinion.

Hundreds of thousands of consumers have now canceled their Disney
Plus subscriptions in protest, meaning a loss of nearly three
billion Australian dollars in revenue, and as of this morning,
it's been announced the return to the network of Jimmy Kimmel.
The network made the following statement. They said, last Wednesday,
we made the decision to suspend production on the show
to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional

moment for our country. It's a decision we made because
we felt some of the comments were ill timed and
thus insensitive. The statement read, referring to comments he made
about Charlie Kirk's assassination on September the fifteenth. They continued,
We've spent the last days having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy,
and after those conversations, we've reached the decision to return

the show on Tuesday, which will be Wednesday our time,
so will be very interesting to see what he says,
given that he's still not made any public comment when

prompting a temporary pause in production. The incident occurred during

significant enough to halt filming. However, Holland was seen at
