Speaker 1 (00:01):
Here at Two Good Sports, we would like to acknowledge
the traditional owners of the land on which we record
this podcast.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
The wererunerie people. This land was never seated, always was,
always will be.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Well.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Hello there, Cats and Kittens.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
It's Georgia Toney and Happy Jelby, hosts of Two Good
Sports Sports. He's told differently, we are back for another
electrifying Georgie.
Speaker 4 (00:26):
One of the favorite parts of my week is looking
at you as we're about to go live and not
knowing what you're gonna say. Hello, Cats and Kittens. Was
really not in my top maybe hundreds of intros that
I was.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
But that's the beauty of you.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
And that's a real deep cut.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Because it is a federal election week and weekend, and
for those playing at home, Joe Exotic, Carol Baskin, they've
waded into the debate. This is not what this episode
is about. But if you know what I'm talking about,
well done.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
I don't.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
I'm too busy studying an RL because I'm going to
magic around this weekend.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
That's right. That is the actual news that is happening
this weekend.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Forget about your polling stations, forget about your democracy sausage.
It is magic round.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
So my theory is I'm going to get you an
ear piece and me in ear piece, and you can.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
Just feed the knowledge into me like osmosis. Yeah, seriously, I've.
Speaker 4 (01:14):
Really enjoyed being more involved in NRL coverage with my
new role now and getting to talk a little bit
more legally because it is so dramatic it is, and
also some of the players are absolutely delightful. But before
that is a good nod towards who our special guest
might be today.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
Georgie, you got a good sport or bradsport.
Speaker 1 (01:30):
I have a good sport today and it is none
other than Actually, you know what, I'm gonna let the
clip just speak for itself. Yes, I've brought in some
clips here today, guys. This one here, maybe I'm calling it.
I think that this person may be single handedly responsible
for saving supernetbull here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Is that Cathcox.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Yes, And there is nothing that Robert Irwin cannot do.
He was on the big screen at the Sunshine, Ghost
Lightning and the Queensland Firebirds game over the weekend more
times than Taylor Swift at a.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
Chiefs game, or more than Taylor Swift at her own concert,
her own concept.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Every single time there was I've seen montages now of
him cut up and it's like every time he's meant,
she's like, there's Robert ol Robert Elwan's back at her.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
The crowd loving Robert Robert Irwin. And I tell you
what good sport, good sport.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
We have spoken a lot on this podcast about the
highs and lows and big blows at super netball have
survived at this point.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
It was a really wonderful game.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
And I tell you what, he's a good luck time
for the Lightning because they won sixty four points to fifty.
Speaker 4 (02:52):
George and I can lift the veil on what would
have been happening in the broadcast truck, because there would
have been a producer been like show.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
Him again, show him again.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
That'd be like a camera on the goal. Third, I
don't think so train it on because if you did.
Speaker 4 (03:06):
A ven diagram of those that enjoy netball and those
that enjoyed his latest bond campaign, there's a lot that
would probably lie in the middle.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
There's a lot, there's a lot. It is a massive middle.
You're so right, You're so right. So he is my
good sport, delightful human and I love anytime that we
can get positive coverage of super netbles.
Speaker 4 (03:22):
Weil, we love the super netball, we love a crikey.
It was just wonderful, wonderful good sport from you. But
my good sport for the week is actually our next
guest coming up, Georgie and color you morone, you're a
little bit excited.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
I am so excited. This man has been responsible for
me yelling cracky. He's so good at my television for
multiple multiple years. We have the Melbourne Storm Superstar Harry
Grant coming up after this. Oh, dear listeners, I am very,
(04:03):
very very excited to be joined by a name that
when you see it on a team list, especially when
that team list is the Queensland Morons, you almost shed
a tear because you just know that everything's going to
be okay, Everything's going to be fine.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
You can breathe easy.
Speaker 1 (04:23):
Because Harry Grant is in your team and you are
most likely going to win. Harry Grant, Melbourne Storm Superstar,
Origin Superstar Kangaroos.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
But hello, welcome to two.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Good sports goods. Thanks for hatting on.
Speaker 6 (04:36):
That's probably the best introduction I've ever had, so I
might cut up and get it for my own my
own keepings.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Have you ever had a more bias introduction?
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Well, you can probably see where Georgy's coming from here.
Speaker 5 (04:51):
Now I'll just take it and run. I don't think
it's too bias at all.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Thank you so much, Harry.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Thank you for acknowledging my objectivity in everything that I do,
this podcast and in life.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
We do need to sout off straight away by just
asking how are you, how's the injury, how's recovery going?
Speaker 3 (05:06):
Because we aren't going to see you out on the
field this weekend.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Yeah, good by. The recovery is going well.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
I think it's just sort of difficult timing with I
guess origin around the corner and on the cards and insight,
which is you know you want to get back and
play some footage to put yourself in contention for selection.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
Hey, Harry, this might surprise you, but I'm not a
professional athlete, and I have always been thank you.
Speaker 2 (05:31):
Sure, I'm clipping that up. I'm going to clip that,
but that on.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
My social But it's always intrigued me because of course
there's injuries that's put and past of being a professional athlete.
But when you say, you know we're doing rehab, like
what does that mean for you to be actually going
through that.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Like is it inane for you?
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Like? Is it every single day You've got to be
focusing on this, like it affects every aspect of your life.
Speaker 6 (05:55):
Yeah, I guess in a sense, it definitely does affect
a lot of things. Like you know, you focus on
your diet. If you can clean that up, then it
reduces swelling and everything sort of has a flow on effects.
So I love me chocolate, but I've been off the
chocolate weeks, so that.
Speaker 5 (06:12):
Was a hard Easter for me. My mummy even come
down from your poon and she brought she.
Speaker 6 (06:16):
Brought Easter eggs and stuff down because she, you know,
wanted to do the mother thing, and I sort of
had to tell her I'm not eating chocolate at the moment.
So they're still sitting in the cupboard. If anyone has
some chocolate heap.
Speaker 4 (06:27):
So what are athlete foods then? What are their anti
inflammatory foods? What are you eating kale at the moment?
Speaker 5 (06:32):
What are we having kale and spinach smoothies?
Speaker 6 (06:35):
I guess, yeah, we have a dietician that sort of
helps you out with all that kind of stuff. But
I guess rehab, we probably just call it rehab because
you're not playing, so you know, you can call it
alternate or you know, come back, come back squad because
you're coming back from an injury or something like that.
But yeah, it's basically like when the guys are out
(06:56):
training on the on the field, where in the either
in the will do on stuff that you know we
can comfortably do within our injury range tolerances.
Speaker 1 (07:06):
I can tell that you're a Queensland if there was
ever any doubt because the way you pronounce Pil, which.
Speaker 5 (07:15):
The Queensland, and you said pill.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
I just looked at George as if to be like
one of yours. Never more obvious.
Speaker 6 (07:24):
It's such a thing hey, Like even at training, it's
just constantly talk about Pearl Stiel cool.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Every time and I don't hear I actually heard it
from you then. But if I say.
Speaker 1 (07:33):
Paul, like I don't think it's not it's not pl
Peel will always pull me up on it. Or I'll
be talking about togs and they're like, what are you saying?
And I'm like, okay, leave me alone.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
It's like South Australian's a chance or dance.
Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, because yeah, I don't know bathers I might looktos.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
This is our culture. Okay, this is our well.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Well, speaking of culture, this is actually a nice segue
because we do have a Magic Round coming up this weekend,
which is an icon for Queensland. It started in twenty
nineteen and then missed because of COVID, but it's around
ever since then, so it's so successful the AFL decided
to copy it and just call it gather around and
have their crack. But what's amazing for this is that
it's all games are played at the one stadium. Like
(08:13):
that's such a massive orchestration to pull off. But I
guess Eric, what should fans expect. I'm going along with
my first one this weekend again. I'm I've got to
be honest, I'm the Melbourne AFL gap.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
We're gone one.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Here, but I'm ready to be wowed by what the
experience is. What is an atmosphere like at a Pat
Sun Corpse Stadium?
Speaker 6 (08:34):
Yeah, I think you know, it's one of the greatest
stadiums to play it as a player, And I'm probably
a bit again biased because I'm a Queen Xander and
that's a stadium you sort of dreamt of playing at
as a kid.
Speaker 5 (08:47):
I'd love to be just a fan at Magic Round two.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
Here.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
You go there with a good crew of people that
love rugby league and you can make the most of
the weekend and have such a good time.
Speaker 5 (08:59):
I think.
Speaker 6 (09:00):
Viewing wise, yeah, Sun Corps one of the best stadiums.
I think Amy Park's definitely up there as the best atmosphere,
best viewership.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Well played, well played, just.
Speaker 5 (09:11):
Slip that one in there.
Speaker 6 (09:12):
But and fingers crossed, there's some good games across the
weekend because you know, you want some tight contests that
keep you on the edgy of seats for eighty minutes,
and then all of a sudden you get to do
that straight away, and then you've got three of those
in the one day.
Speaker 5 (09:28):
It's pretty exciting.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Well, one of those type contests that I think when
people were writing the fixtures at the beginning of the
season would have been the Panthers Broncos Like that would
have been the showdown right, full disclosure, a huge Broncos fan.
Now the Panthers seventeenth, the Broncos fifth. I mean this
is just basically me being like, how good is it
that potentially the Panthers get the wooden spoon.
Speaker 6 (09:52):
Yeah, I think it is way too early in the
season to the line through the Panthers.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
I think. I think the thing with the Panthers, in.
Speaker 6 (10:04):
Their losses or the lot the games that they've lost,
they have five in a row, they were in the
game till the eightieth minute, so they really weren't that
far off. And we're probably used to the Panthers piling
on points in the last twenty minutes of games, where
this season they've sort of had to fight and scrap
and you know, they've given themselves every chance to win
(10:27):
those games in the last couple of minutes of those games,
and you probably learn a fair bit about yourself about
your team in those sort of games as well. And
the fact that they're still fighting and they're still right
in the contest at the eightieth minute goes to show
that you know, there's still one hell of a footy
team and once once it clicks, it's it's going to click.
Speaker 5 (10:49):
For them, and who knows it could be this weekend
against the Broncos.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
Well handled against a very very vint question there from George.
Let's be honest, because I I've actually been on air
with one of your former teammates now in Christian World
where we were going to talk about the Panthers and
he said, do we have to? They have stolen so
much joy from me over the last four years, do
we really have to?
Speaker 1 (11:10):
So?
Speaker 4 (11:11):
I think it is interesting to see that they are languishing,
so to speak, at the bottom of the ladder. But
the fact that no one's willing to count them out
of even making finals at this stage or at the
bottom gives you the idea of how much of a
successful team that they have been.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
But obviously you know one of the well, I actually
think I'm picking this now as the match of the
round for Magic Round, which is your team Harry Storm Raiders,
like two v three. That's going to be an incredible showdown.
Are the boys feeling confident?
Speaker 2 (11:44):
Are they ready?
Speaker 5 (11:44):
Is?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
But what's belly Ache's instructions?
Speaker 6 (11:47):
Yeah, belly As instructions are usually very simple to the
point and aggressive sometimes. But ah, I think it'll be
a big match card relate it always it's always.
Speaker 5 (12:00):
A big match against Canbra.
Speaker 6 (12:01):
There's a bit of rivalry and it probably goes back
to a little bit of Craig playing for Camber in
a sense where that rivalry stems from. And then there's
some really good performances within the two teams over the
years that have created a bit And now they're you know,
they're sitting third on the ladder, so it's going to
(12:21):
be a big match. And yeah, the way they've played
this year is I guess it's what fans want to
see as well. You know, they've just been competing, that
they've got a well rounded team, and they just compete
for eighty minutes. You've seen on the weekend. They probably
drop their standard a little bit in the first half,
but I think they scored thirty odd points in the
(12:44):
second and went on to.
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Win the game.
Speaker 4 (12:46):
Well, this question is too prong then. Firstly, are you
allowed to flay up with your rehab? Is it good
for your soft tissue to be heading up to Magic Round?
And how do you go as I view? Are I'm
horrendously watching even as a fan actually involved in the team.
I'd imagine as someone who can usually impact play, do
you have to sit on your hands?
Speaker 3 (13:04):
Like how do you cope watching?
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (13:06):
Proper it sucks watching, and it sucks watching like when
you just want to be out there having an impact
and you know, wanting to compete. Really, that's what I
love about rugby league, and I love about game days.
You sort of just get to compete with your mates
and have a bit of fun. And yeah, I'm definitely
not the best viewer, but my priority at the moment
is getting all my rehab done and making sure I'm
(13:29):
ticking the right boxes.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Screening at the TV while not eating chocolate is a
far better way of dealing with emotions.
Speaker 3 (13:35):
I feel something.
Speaker 4 (13:37):
Yeah, exactly, bust out the stash.
Speaker 6 (13:42):
Yeah, well I thought I'm I thought I was not
the best viewer, but then I've seen.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
I was in the box on the weekend with Craig
and I was going, oh yeah, right.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
No swear jars involved in coaching.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Process, because it would be a very very excitable end
of view party.
Speaker 1 (13:57):
I reckon before we get to Queen's and just how
you are seriously shaping up to be, you know, a
member of them Marty Morons again this year, and we
get to some other questions. I just just a very
very basic one, Harry. I mean, the Storm have been
so good for so long. They are the premiere team
in this country across all codes. And I ask this
(14:18):
with a hint of jealousy because I wish that the
Broncos could maybe emulate, like in what do you think
you do better than any other team?
Speaker 6 (14:26):
Does that mean you're a Storm fan? Now, Georgia if
you jumped?
Speaker 3 (14:31):
She likes winning, so yeah, she's on.
Speaker 5 (14:34):
The weekend singing the song loud and proud.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
So hey, hey, everyone's allowed to have a second a
second tag.
Speaker 4 (14:39):
Everyone's allowed to have a second And to be fair,
you couldn't be more Queensland a line, thank you and
thank you in the state.
Speaker 2 (14:45):
It's so true, it's so true. Everyone everyone loves the Storm.
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Everyone's land a line team in Melbourne. It's it's coaded you,
it really is.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
It really is.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
One element is like the club from day one always
had to perform to survive. We've come down to Melbourne,
which is AFL Heartland and they've thrown a rugby league
team and if the team didn't perform well from the start,
and the team weren't or the organization weren't good people
(15:14):
and people didn't want to be.
Speaker 5 (15:15):
Involved with them, then you know the club would have folded.
Speaker 6 (15:18):
And there's been many testing times over the years where
you know, if the club wasn't strong willed, good people
that work hard, it could have folded. And yeah, so
I think I think us as players now really value
and respect what previous players, what previous administrators had done
(15:40):
in the early years for the club, and it's about
sort of still respecting what they've done and and just
sort of carrying that on today.
Speaker 5 (15:49):
So yeah, it's a kind of answer your question.
Speaker 6 (15:52):
I guess like we had to we have to perform
to to stay afloat down here.
Speaker 5 (15:57):
But then there's also an expectation now that coming.
Speaker 6 (16:01):
Down here, and I guess that always stems from the
coach and Craig is you work hard number one. You know,
hard work gets your places, gets your results.
Speaker 4 (16:11):
You mentioned the off field stuff, and the on field
things speak for itself. I mean, the win loss record
is actually unbelievably impressive. But when you talk about being
good people and respect, I've heard that visitors go to
the when they go to the club, they go it
was remarkable because everyone gets up and shakes your hand,
and it's little gestures like that that mean that everyone
that goes into storms seem to have a great experience,
(16:33):
which we can say as media operators, doesn't happen.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
Doesn't breaking news.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
It doesn't club.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Oh well, it's just one of those things that we think.
Is that coming from the coach down where those rules
when you all those sort of behaviors when you join
the club, it's explained, hey, this is what we expect
from you.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Or is it just learned from seeing senior.
Speaker 4 (16:55):
Players of which you've had so many storied senior players
through the time that have been fantastic leaders, not only
a club level but then at Origin and then Australian.
Speaker 3 (17:03):
Level as well. Is it learned or is it spoken about?
Speaker 6 (17:06):
Yeah, I think it's definitely an infectious behavior. That behavior
that sort of has been around for a long time.
Like I said, probably goes back to day one and
how they wanted to be perceived or make people feel.
Speaker 5 (17:20):
You know, they knew that they're.
Speaker 6 (17:22):
In foreign land and they needed to welcome people in
and be good people along the way.
Speaker 5 (17:29):
So I think that's definitely there.
Speaker 6 (17:31):
Like we're still you know, John Reebo our founder, he
still comes around, he shakes your hands, says good a
and has a good chat. So I know that, you know,
Reeves was there from day one and he's still the
same now, So I have no doubt it's from there.
But like for me personally, when I first came through,
you know, under twenties and you're meeting guys like Cooper, Billy,
(17:56):
Cameron Craig, and they're all shaking your hands, saying good
ay when the first second they see you, and making
you feel really welcome and valued within the within the
four walls, and you know, the superstars that they are
and everything that they've done in the game. Then it's
that's very important, that's infectious, and then that's.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Just sort of carried on. And yeah, I don't think
it's a point of just doing it.
Speaker 6 (18:21):
I think it's actually from a from a good place
and a place of care and how you're you're in
with us today and this is our space, so come
on and enjoy it and make you feel welcome kind
of thing.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
All right, get me a scuffle. Well, people, it's the
heart of everything, it really is.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
And also, I mean you're talking about Harry the Storm
needing to perform to survive. That sounds like an existential
crisis to me. And I got to say, there's nothing
that's more appealing to this girl than a constant discussion is.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
About existential stuff. Everyone must like me and I must.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Do it well.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Maybe I am a storm pat hang on a second,
but Harry, in all seriousness, what I need from you.
I need you to settle the debate once and for all.
I need you to explain to gell me in as
much detail as you would Mike, why rugby league is
better than AFL go.
Speaker 5 (19:15):
It's it's so much easier to follow.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
That's so fair and mic.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
Drop contest is right in front of the.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Very I mean, that's very good.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
It's very hard to argue against. It was concise, it
was valid.
Speaker 2 (19:33):
It worked, it worked. But there are we always talk.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
On this podcast a lot of differences between the two
major codes here in this country, and Jelmy has become
quite enamored by one in particular, that being the trade period.
Speaker 4 (19:46):
Well, just the amount of drama. Like you talk about
the difference between the two codes. No one quite does
drama like the NRL in terms of club contracts and
who's leaving where. And some of these debates start a
year and a half hour. And don't worry, we're not
going to ask you to comment, particularly on some of
these trades that have been rocking the headlines around the country,
(20:06):
but we will ask you do you think that the
player trade system currently in place in the NRL, which
is a very unique one where players can nominate to
leave while still at clubs and continue playing for that
club even though you know they're going to be elsewhere
next year. Are you happy with the system as it
is or do you think that something needs to change
so that the off field drama doesn't attract from what's
happening on field.
Speaker 6 (20:28):
Yeah, I guess it keeps you girls in a job.
You got something to talk about.
Speaker 5 (20:35):
I'm the Jacob.
Speaker 4 (20:37):
Seriously actually appreciate true, But answer the question, good deflection,
answer the question, Answer.
Speaker 5 (20:42):
The question now.
Speaker 6 (20:43):
Yeah, I don't really have a strong view on it
in terms of I don't have a better, better way
to do it, and in a sense like obviously there's
trade trade period could work, and I've never really thought
into that too much. Like I'm okay with it now
as a player, like it doesn't sort of distract me
(21:04):
or disrupt preparations or anything like that. And you know,
we've got guys that are we'ld be leaving it at
the end of next next year, but this is their
last year with the club kind of thing, and it's like, well,
let's let's enjoy that, like, let's make that a memorable
one both on and off the field, and really sort
(21:26):
of relishing that. I think, Yeah, like I understand where
there's frustration and some stuff comes in, but I guess
as a player, you probably don't go looking for the
external media news how much it's pumped up to be Like,
I think it probably definitely gets amped up a little
bit more in the in the media, and there's always
(21:48):
a lot to talk about.
Speaker 5 (21:51):
But yeah, I don't know. There's there's probably better ways
to do it, but I don't have the answers.
Speaker 6 (21:58):
Maybe that's I might have to go to go to
Landis mister Peter, Sir Peter Blandys and we might have
a look at it. But yeah, I think the r
l p A, the Players Association and everyone was in
the NRAL. They're probably looking at different things. But yeah,
like I said, it doesn't just shrupt me as a player,
and I don't have any view on on.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
What it could look like plot twist. Are you saying
the media maybe the drama.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Or more the point?
Speaker 4 (22:26):
Do you think PVL will have the answer, because I
reckon his answer would be like, you're right, we need
a trade period in Vegas, in.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
Vegas, in Vegas.
Speaker 5 (22:33):
We need to go, we can go.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
Yeah, that's true. Yes, that is true. Jump that you
want to get on. We also would like to.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
We'd like to be there too.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Peter Landy's please, sir, Peter Landi's as you've named him.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
It's true, it's true, Harry jellmy myself. Peter Landy's in Vegas.
Let's make it happen.
Speaker 4 (22:52):
He's a man that make things happen. So is Harry Grant. Harry,
thank you so much for joining us. I'm sure that
was slightly unhinged.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
For you, but we really appreciate it. And ghost this weekend.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Go Marins.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
Thanks, I appreciate that.
Speaker 1 (23:08):
Well.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
George.
Speaker 4 (23:09):
Fun fact Harry Grant's delightful. Oh my god, that's a
fun fact. But let me take you back to my code.
My AFL fun fact is still Sidebottom.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Who has better.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Surnames in sport? We love steel Sidebottom, but he's also.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
A very very good player. He recently won the Anzac Medal.
Speaker 2 (23:28):
I actually think he's Benjamin Button.
Speaker 3 (23:30):
Oh my god.
Speaker 2 (23:30):
He gets better the older he gets and looks younger.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
So we've often talked about you, Georgie, having a mind
palace and just being able to access different things. True,
do you know what steel side Bottom can do? What
every player in the a f L. He can name
the brand of their boots.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
He cannot. That's insane. So what do you mean.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
If ever there is a Georgie Tunney coded skill that
someone has in sporty Neil now pure pula.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
As a kid, I was obsessed with well footy for one,
but I used to just love footy boots.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
So whenever I see someone play, always just check what boots.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
Goes on assex?
Speaker 5 (24:23):
Asex Walker assex.
Speaker 6 (24:26):
Andy Brayshawke, Jeremy Hammeron assex, Noah Anderson, Tom Green.
Speaker 4 (24:33):
I feel like this is going always too long for
our podcast, but you get the point.
Speaker 2 (24:37):
He's my favorite player.
Speaker 6 (24:39):
Oh actually no, I think he wears pumas now Houston.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
He doesn't doesn't miss George.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Oh my god. So he's mind pallace.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
I'm going to put on the record, maybe more extensive
than mine.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
Have you ever seen anything more bizarre?
Speaker 1 (24:58):
No?
Speaker 3 (24:58):
But I would. How do you have the time?
Speaker 2 (25:02):
But that's what I mean. He's just collated this. It's
like how we know random pop culture things? And how
do you know? Ben Affleck's child name.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
So I just do in order to be that good
at retention. I believe his mind works like yours, yes,
and that he can go into the mind palace and
pick the book off the shelf that goes ah Tom
Lynch boots opens and reads it as in, I just
think you must have a photographic brain, because I could
study my whole life and not be able to do that.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Also, I would say more evidence about just how good
he is as a player because he has eyes on
the ball, because the ball is always near the feet,
so he is always just kind of like, yeah, clock
that shit.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
That may be my favorite fun fact ever.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
It was wild, wasn't it.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
I love that so much. Steel side Bottom, come on
the pods. We need to know, come on the pod.
Speaker 4 (25:47):
Well only makes sense now that we've done an RL
that we lean back into AFL and get Steel side
Bottom on again.
Speaker 3 (25:54):
Just a really joyful surname to say George, great, ep great,
I'll let you go out. I'll let you know how magic.
Speaker 1 (26:02):
Oh my gosh, I'm so jealous. I'm so excited for you.
Also because you get to go to sun Court like
that is.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
My spiritual home. I will taught back please, please report back.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Let me know how the field's going. The grass is
looking a bit your fee, so you just let me know.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
I know how it goes after the next eight games.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Yeah, and if the Broncos lose, I'm gonna blame you.
That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Until next time, be a good sport.
