(00:26):
listening to Fox Sports Radio All. We have lots to do.
We've got lots going on here. We look forward to
the week sixteen slate. Oh and there are some sexy
storylines over here, very much looking forward to it. Hey,
we are broadcasting live from the ti irac dot com studios.
(00:48):
Ti irac dot com will help get you there and
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection and
over at ten thousand recommended installers tirerac dot com. The
way Tiger buying should be Okay. So Week sixteen didn't
get off to the sexiest of starts. Zach Wilson and
(01:09):
the Jets scored three points. Scored three points at home,
lost of the Jags nineteen to three. Yes, just one
field goal. And if you spend things forward here it
might be a sign of what's to come in a
lot of games in Week sixteen. Lots of weather, lots
(01:30):
of weather expected. Now it wasn't snowing, it wasn't sleading.
It was raining for the Jets game on Thursday Night football.
Not the greatest weather though, and there are some harsher
conditions expected in many of these games. Very very cold.
I'm broadcasting right now from the South Bend, Indiana area.
(01:52):
It is minus five degrees. It's minus five right now.
It was I don't know what the high was earlier
in the day. Was at least in the teens, might
have been in the twenties. It's minus five now. So
like we're not that far away from these Saturday games,
(02:12):
full slate of games on Saturday. We get the three
games on Sunday on Christmas Day, and then we get
the Monday night game. Well, we got a lot of
games on Saturday. It's gonna be a lot of weather games,
a lot of weather games. There's one game here where
if you look at this Saints Brown's game, it's supposed
(02:34):
to be really bad and it's supposed to be windy.
It's not just the snow. As we all know. If
you're into handicapping games. You get down with gambling. Are
you just watching the games? It's all about the wind,
all about the wins. Supposed to be very windy, very
windy in the Saints Brown's game. It's funny too because
when you look at, hey, Saints don't have Jarvis Landry,
(02:56):
they won't have Chris Alave, one of the best young
receivers in the game aim, and you're like, oh gosh,
that's not gonna be good. It might not even matter
with as fierce as the win might be, it might
just be a running contest in that one. I don't
know if it's gonna be as bad as Patriots Bills
last year, where it was just what the Patriots threw
(03:18):
the ball three times, they were like air force. They
threw it three times, ran it the rest of the game.
I don't know if any of the games this weekend
get to that level, but it's gonna be pretty crazy
from a weather standpoint, and curious how that shakes out now.
Of course, some of the other major storylines heading into
Week sixteen. Eagles Cowboys no Jalen Hurts was made official
(03:42):
on Thursday. Head coach Nick Siriani said, hey, listen, Jalen
Hurts as tough as nails. It's as tough as they come,
but a shoulder just isn't ready yet. So in steps
in Gardner Minshew. As the Eagles try to wrap up
the one seed in the NFC, their magic number is one,
so the Eagles just need to win one of the
(04:04):
remaining three games and their golden so it doesn't even
necessarily have to be this game at Dallas. And it's
kind of interesting too where Dallas. Earlier in the year
it was role reversal. Dak Prescott missed the initial meeting
between these two teams, and the Cowboys got off to
(04:24):
a horrible start. Where were they trailing twenty to nothing.
They're just getting crushed, and then Cooper Rush leads the comeback.
There was a surge and they put a scare into Philly,
ended up making it a nine point game when it
was all said and done. If you're gambling on that
game looking for the back door cover, Cowboys kicker Brett
(04:45):
Maher had other ideas. Missed a long field goal and
so instead of the Cowboys losing by six, they lost
by nine. That was significant to some who had action
on the game, but in any event, Cowboys didn't have
Dak for the initial meeting and it was still a game.
And now the Eagles do not have Jalen Hurts for
this latest matchup, and Gardner Minshew is capable. He's a
(05:08):
capable quarterback. So we'll see, with a very competent supporting cast,
if he's able to do enough to get a win
for the Eagles and see if they clinch home field
for the NFC playoffs if they do, if they beat
the Cowboys on Saturday, I don't expect to see Jalen
Hurts the rest of the season. I don't expect them
(05:29):
for the regular season. Why why come back? I would
just rest the guy and get him geared up for
the playoffs. So we'll see how that shakes out. We'll
cross that bridge if we get to it. If the
Eagles win, be interesting to see if Jalen Hurts plays
at all throughout the remainder of the regular season. Other games,
you know, I've got I got my eye on Christmas
(05:52):
Day because think about this, that used to be the
NBA's Day five games. Just sit back, watched the NBA
action in the NFL said, you know what, screw that,
Let's throw a triple header on there. Now, what stands
out to me is these are not the sexiest matchups.
(06:15):
You've got the Packers against the Dolphins. I'm interested in
that now, like I'm gonna watch anything NFL related. I'm
gonna watch Jags Jets from beginning to the bitter end.
Even though it was a dog of a game. That's
just how big of an NFL junkie I am. So
Packers Dolphins. You're talking my language over here. Packers have
(06:38):
put up a lot of points lately. Dolphins. They fought
hard last week, their third straight road game at Buffalo
in the snow, as a coin flip game could have
gone their way, didn't. But I think that both defenses
are struggling. That could be a fun game. Could be
a lot of points in that game. Highest total of
the week forty nine and a half. I like over
(07:00):
and the one. I think there's gonna be some points.
Look at the first half over as well, if you're
into that sort of thing. Now, the rest of the
day on Christmas not sexy at all. We've got Denver
against the Rams. So that is if you're scoring at
home four and ten versus four and ten, that is
a bad matchup, and Adam Silver has to be looking
(07:23):
at the ratings through his fingers, you know, like those
fans that get stressed out and then they have their
hands covering most of their face. I picture Adam Silver
kind of like looking at the ratings as the NBA
commissioner that way, like, oh gosh, please please don't tell
me broncos Rams is doubling or tripling the ratings of
(07:44):
what we're doing with whatever game is on in that
time slot. Even the nightcap for the NFL Tampa Bay
at Arizona, it's gonna be trace McSorley starting for Arizona.
No Kyler Murray, torn Acl, no Colt Boy concussion protocol.
We've got trace McSorley, the Penn State former quarterback, his
(08:07):
first NFL start. That's what we got. That's the nightcap
on Christmas Day, Tampa Arizona six and eight versus four
and ten. Now you might say, while it is Tom Brady, okay,
it's still a horrible matchup, and watch it dust the NBA.
I'm not anti NBA. I actually love the NBA. Watch
a lot of NBA, but these are not great NFL
(08:31):
Christmas Day games. And watch the NFL still pummel not
just beat pummel the NBA in the ratings game. It
is crazy how that works out. Okay, let's get out
to the phones here. Some of the Mellor militia want
to check in eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. Okay,
let's start with Paul is over in San Jose wants
(08:51):
to talk some QBS with us. Here, Paul, you're on
Fox Sports Radio. What's up man? Hey, Brian, I just
wanted to talk about the upcoming free agency for the
class of twenty twenty, because I think you got some
studs in the class, right, So you got TWA, you
got Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow, and Jim and Hurts. So
I just wanted your opinion, like, what do you think
(09:12):
they will I'm assuming they're gonna re up the contracts,
So what do you think they're gonna go for it?
Or is Joe Burrow, like, for instance, gonna like re
established the QB market, or is what we're seeing with
Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson is not gonna like fluctuate
how much he's gonna get and so on and sofa
and number two, I just want to point out something
with the Jets. They have drafted four qbs in the
(09:33):
top two rounds in the past thirteen years, the over four. Now,
clearly these quarterbacks aren't the best, but the Jets as
an organization are not doing enough to support their quarterbacks.
What do you think about that? Um, Like, here's the thing, man,
it's some of these guys, and thanks for checking in, man,
good stuff. I'll get to both of these real fast.
(09:55):
A lot of these some of these quarterbacks have gone
to other teams, and if they were legit, if it
was just about the Jets and what they're surrounded by,
they would have some success elsewhere, right, Like they would
do something elsewhere. Sam Darnold is with Carolina, like, you've
(10:15):
got DJ more to throw too. He had Christian McCaffrey.
Baker Mayfield had Christian McCaffrey earlier in the year. Baker
Mayfield was freaking awful, awful. Sam Darnold has been there
for over a year. He's done nothing in Carolina. So
I can't put everything on the Jets. Do they share
(10:36):
some responsibility, sure, But if these guys were legit and
it was just because it's a complete dumpster fire, dysfunctional organization,
they would do something of note. Maybe they wouldn't be
top five, top ten guys, but they would do something
of note. They'd at least be serviceable. And Sam Darnold
(10:57):
is not. I don't know that Zach Wilson is ever
going to resurface and be more than serviceable in his
NFL career. So I can't put that all on the Jets.
I put that on the quarterbacks as well. I mean,
look at Trevor Lawrence. It's a good comparison. Look at
his weapons. Who's awesome on his team? He's got Christian
(11:20):
Kirk and Zay Jones, who they're overpaying. Like Christian Kirk,
He's okay, he's good, but he's not an upper echelon
true number one receiver. You're not gonna be like, all right,
my top five receivers and no certain order, Tyreek Hill,
DeVante Adams, Shamarch. I gotta throw in Christian Kirk like,
he's not gonna be in the top ten. He's got
(11:42):
Evan ingram As his tight end, right, Like, look at
his weapons. Critically, he doesn't have much to throw to,
and yet this guy is world's better than Zach Wilson is.
So I can't put everything on the Jets. A lot
of it is on the quarterbacks as well. Now as
far as the quarterbacks real fast, they're on their rookie
deals and they're gonna be making huge money pretty soon.
(12:07):
Call me crazy. I've had this ongoing debate with I
from Salam from her NFL offensive lineman. We did a
show for years together, and he is of the belief
that Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert are going to get
either the same as the Shaun Watson or more, they're
gonna get a fully guaranteed contract over two hundred million dollars.
(12:29):
And I say, no, it's not gonna happen because the
situation is different. There was a bidding war, like there
were multiple teams trying to trade for Deshaun Watson, and
that drove the price tag higher. It's not the same
thing with Joe Burrow and the Bengals. It's not the
same thing with Justin Herbert and the Chargers. Those quarterbacks
are just dealing with their respective teams. That's it. It's
(12:53):
just the quarterback negotiating with the team, that's all. And
I don't think that and title tells is right. But
my hunch is Joe Burrow and justin Herbert, don't hold
out for the last cent that they can get. I
don't know. I see both of them potentially shrugging their shoulders, like, yeah,
(13:14):
that's good. That's a lot of money. Remember Gilbert Arenas
did that way back in the day with the Washington Wizards.
He was like, yeah, it's fine. He could just you
could just call it good there. I don't need all
the extra money, like I wouldn't be shocked. They're gonna
get huge contracts, no doubt about that. But I do
not see a fully guaranteed contract for either of those guys.
(13:34):
I just don't. I see it being a different situation,
and I don't see them just pushing pushing like I
need a fully guaranteed deal. I have to be the
top paid guy. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong about that,
but I don't think it's gonna go down like that.
Let me get out to the phones again. Let me
get to Lee roy is in New Orleans talking to NFL.
(13:55):
You're on Fox Sports Radio, Leroy, what's up man? She
didn't deny she was a witch, which I told you
she's a witch. Angry Bill Lee Roight from New Orleans.
That was the cover from angry Bill. Unbelievable. What wow, Wow,
(14:15):
that is wow. That is one for the archives right there. Uh,
let me go to Uh. Let's hear from our friend
Dick and Dayton. Dick and Dayton, what's going on? Man?
I haven't heard you from you for a little bit.
How's everything going? What up? Dick? How are you great?
Dick and Dayton? How are things with you? Budd good? Good?
You know the the shut course. I'm from up north,
(14:38):
as you know. I tell Ben Browns the Browns uh uh.
I think the next three games might be in it,
you know. I think if the offense gets going. The
defense hasn't played good. But the surprise of the NFL.
The Bengals are Joe Burrow. They have to be I
(15:00):
think they're going to get to the playoffs. They the
magic they have, you know, Brian. I hate to disagree
with you, Dick and Dayton, but man, they're twelfth right
now in the AFC. They gotta win out and get
help if they went out, yeah, yeah, we're good. Talking
(15:22):
to you. Good talking to you too, Dick and Dayton.
I didn't have rosy news about the Browns and you're like, yeah,
I'm out of here. I'm out of here. The name
is Dave favorable path for the Browns, though they finished
with the Saints at Washington at Pittsburgh, so at least favorable.
(15:46):
But I don't see them going undefeated from here on out.
And even if they did nine and eight, they need
a lot of help. I don't see it happening. I mean,
Paul vaulting from twelfth to at least seventh. That's gonna
be tough. It's gonna be tough, right there. All right,
(16:07):
feel free to get in here. Eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox is how you get through. We got
a lot to do here. Some of the militia they
want to check in, We will roll out the red carpet.
You want to get in here, we make room for you.
I gotta get to a player and a team that's
just making life more difficult on themselves. And oh, I
(16:30):
got a question for Eddie around the corner. Huh, how
long can you hold your breath? And why the heck
that is even a question. We'll get to that coming up.
I'm Brian noe In from big Ben Maller. Since Fox

dot com. The way tire buying should be be sure
to catch live editions of The Ben Maller Show weekdays
at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Underwater How long do you think? You? Um?
(18:16):
I remember we like, yes kids, we would have like
contests and stuff, and I was usually pretty good at it.
So I don't know, maybe thirty seconds is that good?
It's permissible? I think, you know. The reason I ask
I saw something this is on Sports Center. They did
a thing like a little feature on Avatar, the new
(18:37):
movie that's coming out, and so they said the cast
and crew they trained to hold their breath underwater for
over four minutes at a time. They're shooting this film
a lot of it underwater, and so I found it
really interesting. Just a couple of notes here. So the
cast and crew they on average before training, they could
(18:58):
hold their breath for about forty five to ninety seconds,
and that was like the average of what they could do.
But they had dia fraumatic breathing training like they trained
themselves and I don't know, like strengthen their diaphragm. Somehow,
they could hold their breath for over four minutes at
a time, and Kate Winslet, who was one of the
(19:20):
lead actors in this movie, she held her breath underwater
for seven minutes in fourteen seconds, set a new record
on a movie set for holding her breath underwater. That's crazy.
I don't know why. Like it's funny, man, Like you know,
like we deal with sports all the time, and a
lot of it becomes routine, routine, and it's like, all right,
(19:43):
the Jets stunk on Thursday night football, okay, cool? And
Zach Wilson a's brutal and all right. And then they
did this feature on Avatar and I'm like, what, diafraumatic breathing.
That's insane, man, seven minutes in fourteen seconds holding your
breath underwater. I don't know. I was just fascinated by that. Crazy.
Good for her, Good for it that it's impressive. Yeah, right,
(20:05):
that's crazy to me. Let's get to the militia here.
They want to check in, Jed, who fled back with us? Jed,
what's going on? Man, there's going on, dude. I listened
to the play. I played broadcast preferably over ESPN. I
don't watch ESPN even when the seminoles are playing. I mean,
what does the hammer and sickle is broadcast hard of
(20:26):
her on ESPN. Deacon Dayton is a legian man. I
wonder how many of his friends have been tricked into,
like do you like that guy? Like, oh yeah, I
like Dick. I'm like, oh my god, you can never
let say it. And if Andrea is a witch, I'm
gonna be. I want to be a scarecrow because a
lot of the treat of mister Kreft lifestyle has had
me always scratch my head, going if I only had
(20:47):
a brain, and then you can got old leroy angry Bill.
You know when you represent the psychopath, kill the psychopath,
kill the psychopath, kill because what a what a laser? Man?
Lets I remember staying dude had hold Hogan putting poor
Oh my god, he's wearing a red black in the
y nWo Jesus and then told Ripster showed open d
(21:12):
nWo for life, Kevin Nash big friends and now the
Codge football players are doing this man and touchdown Jesus
is gonna cover this guy. He's never gonna get touchdowns
because what they've become professional wrestling? Man, what's going on? Man? Dude,
it's good to hear from me, Jed. There's a lot there, man.
I like it. You hit down. Now here's the thing,
(21:32):
Like Eddy, you talked about this with UM, with our
guy Paul and Rhode Island. You know Paul kind of
it's fluid. He moves from take to take to take,
but it takes four minutes, you know what I mean,
Like it's this long, methodical thing. With Jed, it's quick hitting.
It's quick hitting, it's fast. I like that. By the way,
I would highly recommend this, you know, Jed. You mentioned
(21:53):
a sting right there. For anybody who likes pro wrestling
or likes storytelling, Google Sting and The Player's Tribune. He
wrote a column. Gosh, I don't know how long ago
was this, probably within the last year or so. And
it was freaking tremendous. It was outstanding. It was just
(22:15):
talking about his early days in pro wrestling and cutting
his teeth. He was roommates with the Ultimate Warrior for
a little while, and the Ultimate Warrior had this like
little tiny Dog, which which was just hilarious because it's
the Ultimate Warrior and he's a madman in the ring,
you know. But it was just it was fascinating and Stinging.
He was like cutting his teeth and doing all these
(22:37):
shows and his body is just battered. And he had
this show I think in New Orleans and he was
on the highway and he was telling his girl like, man,
I'm thinking about just skipping this. I've had it, and
she was like, no, stick it out, like you're close.
I feel like you're close to breaking through. And he
stuck it out and he broke through. It was tremendous.
I highly recommend. I'm pretty sure it was the Player's Tribune,
(23:00):
but really cool piece by Sting if you're into that
sort of thing. Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox
is your phone number. Let's hear from. Let's hear from
Flexus in Buffalo, real fast, Flexus. How are things everything good? Hello, Brian, Yeah,
I'm doing good. Um. I remember I at you the
(23:20):
beginning of the season, but you thought about the bills
and I can't like discourage what you were saying. But
now I have to miss this. Josh Allen reminds me
of Bates Manning. Maybe he can run, but you get
her that way, and he's rest gone for the rest season.
He's got a neweral arm. He can't throw. The only
(23:42):
way that Bufo is gonna win to Super Bowl. Wow,
I don't know. I mean, Josh Allen can sling it.
He's got a strong arm, and uh, you know, you
can run slightly better than Peyton Manning. But I'm still
skeptical the Bills over there for Lexus, I'm skeptical they
(24:02):
can't run the ball as a team. They rely on
Josh Allen too much. Skeptical of them, right, and you
can get hurt from now Joe in the season, and
we don't want that. They them for a while. They
already got it. You're already in the park. So why
they need him for rush? All your safety bish off
the season because when you start the playoffs, the season
(24:26):
don't mean nothing. Yeah, now, I hear you. I think
you gotta still try to get that one seed. I would.
It's just so valuable. You skip a playoff game, you
know your home throughout the playoffs. It's an advantage. So yeah,
the New England game, that's a home game in the
New England play don't worry about UNN or Chicago. But
(24:52):
New England game I could do. Yeah, is a division game? Yeah, well,
hey man, we'll see how it shakes out. And fle
they're number one right now, you know, number one seed
as it stands. I don't know. I'd have to try
to get that home field advantage. That's me though. I
will get to some more of the militia. A lot
(25:12):
to do, a lot to do before we get on
out of here. We've got Eddie Garcia to spin us
around the sporting landscape. What is going on, Eddie? Well,
we gotta start with Thursday night football with the Jaguars
beating the Jets nineteen to three. Riley Patterson boots four
field goals for Jacksonville and quarterback Trevor Lawrence scored the
only touchdown of the game from a yard out on
a run. For the Jets, quarterback Zach Wilson he was
(25:35):
nine of eighteen passing just ninety two yards an interception
and got benched in this game, and both teams are
seven and eight, but have vastly different hopes for the playoffs.
Jacksonville is just a half game back of Tennessee for
the AFC South lead, while the Jets now are behind
the Dolphins and the Patriots and now behind the Jaguars
as well as far as a wildcard spot. College football
(25:57):
Armed Forces Bowl Air Force a winner over Baylor thirty
to fifteen. Falcons finished the year with ten wins, ten
and three two games in the NBA. C J McCollum
forty points for the Pelicans and they're won twenty six
one seventeen win over the Spurs and the Jazz down
the Wizards won twenty to one twelve. Top twenty five
college basketball Number four Kansas beat Harvard sixty eight fifty four.
Fifth ranked Arizona down Morgan State ninety three sixty eight.
(26:18):
Well In Missouri knocked off number sixteen Illinois ninety three
to seventy one. The Tigers are eleven and one now
with that victory. NHL Games would note the Bruins beat
the Jets three to two Boston, a NHL best twenty
six to four and two and eighteen oz and two
on home ice. In baseball news, an independent arbitrator has
reduced Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauers three twenty four game suspension
(26:39):
for violating the league's domestic violence policy two hundred and
ninety four games. He has now been reinstated, effective immediately.
Dodgers fourteen days to figure out if they're going to
keep him nine and li from the tirerack dot Com,
Fox Sports Radio Studios. It's Brian No. By the way, Eddie,
who do you think wins the AFC South? Do you
go in? Jags or Titans? Jags? You think Jack? Yeah, hey,
(27:00):
Man playing good football lately, and they just smacked around
and Tennessee and Tennessee's not playing good football and they
and they lost Ryan tan Hill and you know, their
odds are he's not great, but their odds are better
with him than without him. I think yeah, I think
so too. And they don't have receivers. Man, that was
the biggest gaff of the offseason. Not resigning a J
Brown who's tearing it up in Philadelphia. That was huge, huge.
(27:24):
John Robinson gets fired. They've lost four in a row. Yeah,
it's it's falling apart man, looking bad for the Titans.
Looking bad? All right, Let me go out to Cowboy
is in Windsor wants to chat with us here? Cowboy?
What's going on? Oh hi, Brian, Merry Christmas and happy
hunt and happy quns. That everybody, including you, Bryan, and
(27:49):
half a century ago today was the Agreatmanclet reception were
the rest of the piece. Frankel Harris cut that deflect
to the ball in that playoffs game against the Raids.
People say was because of the rule against by by
(28:12):
two offensive players. I was in the books in those days.
Jim Harbaugh's fifty nine today. Um Jim McLoughlin, who used
to pitch in the big leagues in the sixties and
early seventies, died forty seven years ago today at age
thirty two of wo Kedia. That's the big news in
that day, especially considering all the huge contracts coming out
(28:34):
in baseball free agency. Was that December twenty third, nineteen
seventy five, Trader Peter's Seats invalidated the reserve clause. They
had three one olders representative, one players representative, and a
and a neutral arbitrator, and Seats was the one who
(28:54):
voted to invalidated reserve clause. I remember forty three years
ago to day I went to this so wild party
in downtown was It wasn't wild when I first went
to it, but that Christian and then and the police
eventually as the suppressive party. I was gone by the
time the fireworks began. By the way, and let's do
(29:15):
one hundred and sixty years ago yesterday, Connie Mack was
born in East Brookline, Massachusetts. That happened to be ten
days before President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January first,
eighteen sixty three. And mister mckins, he was known throughout baseball,
died in February eighth and in the ninety three, And
(29:38):
of course Dave Kingman was seventy four. James cond it
was eighty five Wednesday, and um or James anyway, Um anyway,
everybody have am as I said, Merry Christmas and very
a happy New Year, and big two people. Um, you
(29:59):
know next wee week after you enjoy your holidays, I'll
buy good stuff. Cowboy, appreciate the time, man, Yeah, Franko Harris,
you know, rest in peace. Obviously very sad story passing
away at seventy two, but what a life, what a life.
And look, man, all the comments after he passed away.
(30:21):
You can just tell, right, you can tell when if
he wasn't a good person, people would have just said
things like, oh, what a player. I mean, one of
the great Pittsburgh Steelers of all time. We've been just
about his play, his play, his play, his play. But
one person after another, great person, great, great person like,
they're just not making stuff up, they're not blowing smoke.
(30:43):
So I thought that was a cool portion of what
was overall a sad story with him passing away unexpectedly.
But again, seventy two years, what a life. What a life.
And the other part of that, going back to the
Immaculate Reception, we always talk about replay, and you know,
it's replay good for the game now, and look, it's
(31:07):
not perfect, but I think that we only look at
what would be cool if we got rid of replay.
You know, think about if replay was around for the
Immaculate Reception, maybe it wouldn't have stood. Maybe if one
of the greatest plays of the history of the game
wouldn't have been so, And so you might start thinking,
hey man, football be better without replay at all. As
(31:29):
soon as you start thinking that you're only thinking glass
half full, you start thinking glass half empty. And some
of these calls that are obviously missed. I'll put it
this way, different sport, but it still applies. My dad
is from Saint Louis and we went to a We
went to the Pro Football Hall of Fame a few
(31:51):
years ago, and then we went to Cleveland. Then Indians
baseball game. They're playing the Kansas City Royals, and I
leaned over and I said, who are you rooting for?
And he goes, you know, I just I've never been
able to root for the Kansas City Royals after nineteen
eighty five. And so it was a blown call at
first base, ninth inning game, six Cardinals would have won
(32:15):
a one nothing ball game if Don dancin Jire doesn't
blow the call. So for all these people that are like, oh,
the game would be so much better with no replay,
it's like you're only looking at half of the equation.
There are so many games that would be completely freaking
ruined without replay. So I don't know. The Franco Harris
(32:37):
story and the famous play the Immaculate Reception, it just
got me thinking about replay in general, and some of
the conversations. Whenever you hear someone say, oh, it would
be so much better without it, whatsoever, it's like to like,
in some instances, yes, but overall, hell no, it wouldn't
be better no way. I don't think so real fast,
(32:59):
let me get to Jim in Texas has some thoughts
for his Jim, you're on Fox Sports Radio. What's up, Hey,
what's going on, fellas. I appreciate you entertaining us early
morning workers and stuff like that. First time caller, my
name is actually himI, but you can call me Jappers.
I plan on Colin later in the future, but I'm
(33:21):
a big giant fan lifelong. I live in Cowboyland out
in West Texas, and I started to talk a bit
about what you guys thought about Daniel Jones and the
Giants and his future there. I've heard some talks about
keeping him and beefing up the defense, and I like
that idea. I think he's he's blossom under this new
(33:42):
leadership and wanted to hear you guys talk about a
little bit. Yeah, Jim hey man, thanks for checking out.
I'll give you a quick thing on Daniel Jones. It
reminds me, as you were saying that, It just kind
of reminds me of Kirk Cousins with Washington, where they're
not gonna roll out the red carpet. They're not I
could give him a huge new contract, maybe they franchise
(34:05):
him and say we'll give it another year and see
if he really takes a step forward. They might do that,
but I can't see any sort of big long term
contract extension. It just seems like, yeah, let's date for
a little longer. We don't want to do the equivalent
(34:26):
of getting married with a long term agreement with huge
guaranteed money. That's my guess is if they don't part ways,
they might look to extend it by a year by
franchising him. That's my guess. That's my guess. We'll see
how it checks out. All right, we got a lot
to do eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox. We've
got a special treat for the end of the show,
callerwise very much looking forward to that, and I'll try
(34:49):
to shoehorn as much stuff in here as possible with
Eddie's Steelers. Have a quick story on that. Don't make
things harder for yourself. That's all I'm gonna promise, because
as we're short on time, short on time, so hang
with us. We'll make it a fantastic finish here. I'm
Brian no In for Big Ben Mallard. This is Fox
Sports Radio. Oh, come drink your youring. That will be

for Ben Maller. It's Brian No. Thank you Eddie. By
the way, I read something about your Steelers here. You
see this about Kenny Pickett there starting quarterback. Can be
back on Saturday night. Thank your Steelers. Take on the radars.
You had your fill of Mitch Traubisky. Huh yeah, yeah,
I can understand that. But I saw where he's gonna
be wearing a helmet because he had he's had a
(37:03):
couple of concussions. Now missed the game last week because
he had after effects of a concussion. So he's now
being he's going to wear a helmet. It's a special design.
It's got padding on the back to cushion his head
in the event that, you know, his head smacks the
ground again. Apparently tight end Pat Fryarmuth he has a
(37:26):
similar helmet. He's had a multiple concussions in his young
NFL career. That's great. My question is why not do
this before the concussions, right? Wouldn't that makes sense? Like
if you've got extra padding and you know, like, I
don't know why you don't do that beforehand. I'm not
blaming anybody. I just don't know why it would take
(37:47):
a couple of concussions for them to have the extra padding,
and right, like, why don't you do that before? When
that makes sense. It's been my experience, regardless of the
sport that players they would prefer to have less padding,
less protection, and yeah, that kind of stuff because just
kind of like a comfort level. You know, if you're
(38:07):
all padded up, maybe you feel like you're not as
quite quicker as fast that kind of thing. I don't know. Yeah,
maybe I don't know what it is, but I mean,
I don't know how fast Kenny Pickett has to be,
you know. And man, your head, that's your that's your life,
that's your future, that's your livelihood in the sport. I
(38:29):
don't know. I think an extra pat or two with
the old head makes a lot of sense, makes a
lot of sense every there. With that, let me get
out to the phones. Here. Marcel is in Brooklyn. Let's
talk to Marcell. What's going on? Marcel? Good morning, mister
no along with mister Garcia, Roberto Flores and Ethan. Hey,
it's a new dawn at a new day, two sleeps
(38:51):

who joins us right now, morning, sir, what is your
fruit pick from last night before Christmas? Thanks Marcel and
happy festivals to everybody. And you killed him last week.
I think you had for dinner last night. Blair in me.
(39:15):
We're the Blair hater people, Rob, and that's final? Is
that right, Brian? We're the Blair hater people. I love
whoopy pie Blair. Oh no, no, I don't right. We're
the whoopy pie Blair people. We're the Blair hater people.
Had an initial to stop Blair for interrupting my call.
The mess suck. Well, I don't jet set set suck,
(39:43):
and Rob, there's no mixed mach for it as well,
so thank you. But go ahead, sir, it's gotta be
chicken breasts Marcel got okay, well on that put the
mixed match at the chicken breath, all right, Eddie, go ahead, buddy.
I heard marcell does love the breast, but like breast, Marcella,
(40:03):
I'm gonna go you gotta mismatched it. I didn't even
say that, alright, No, go ahead, buddy breasts. I'm gonna
say you had chee cheese. That's not a mismatch, ethan,
go ahead and blank, all right. The buzz on the clock.

What the finest food pick up two is. You're gonna
see chee cheese,
