Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello and welcome. It's our knob Bird two hour two
of our terrestrial radio program repackaged for you where all
the cool kids are in the podcast format, and we
talk about the NFC Championship game this hour, and we
break down and parse the words of a J. Brown
(00:23):
star receiver for your Philadelphia Eagles. Is a J. Brown
a diva or not a diva? Based on his words?
Can the Eagles beat the Niners without a J. Brown
putting up a massive stat line? And why does this
matchup not look so good for Philadelphia heading into the
(00:45):
matchup this weekend? Will the Eagle fans help decide and
home field advantage who wins the NFC title game. We
react to some comments made by Deebo, Samuel That and
much more, Telefriend, tele a Friend. We even broke down
a fast food restaurant. I don't know why we did that,
but we did it. Here in our number two. The
(01:10):
burns are chirping. Well come in the beginning of another
hour of the Ben Maller Show. We are in the
air everywhere comrades as we nurse a grudge coast to coast,
porter re order and beyond on the vast and uncharacteristically
powerful microphones of fs are emanating live from the wall,
(01:37):
just a hole in the wall. We are broadcasting live
from the tirerac dot com studios tirerac dot com. We'll
help you get there in unmatched selection, fast free shipping,
free road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers
ti iraq dot com the way tire buying should be.
(01:58):
So our lead this hour, coming from the bird's nest.
The birds are a turpin in the NFC title game.
The focus it's on Fox. You better watch now. In
the prologue to the Eagles and Niners locking horns. This weekend,
the talk has centered around Philly wide receiver AJ Brown.
(02:21):
Some of it anyway, And if you're not familiar with
what's been going on here over the last twenty four
hours or so, perhaps not. Let's go back to last weekend,
the divisional round of the playoffs, when the TV cameras
called AJ Brown star receiver for Philadelphia, showing that he
(02:42):
was exasperaded in the fourth quarter. The Eagles had that
blowout win over the g Men, and in that game,
AJ Brown only had three catches for twenty two yards.
He was targeted six times. Keep in mind that at
the Birds only ran the ball almost every other play
(03:04):
and they didn't throw the ball much at all. They
ran the ball forty four times, they threw the ball
twenty four So based on the numbers, AJ Brown received
twenty five percent of the targets that were available in
a game. One in every four pass attempts went the
direction of AJ Brown. But when you only throw the
ball twenty four times because the Giants can't stop the run,
(03:27):
then you end up in that bit of a situation
where you're not getting the ball in up, but you're like, well,
wait a minute, I got to twenty five percent of
it's not enough. So AJ Brown then was asked about
all this. He told reporters that there was a difference
between being a diva, which is what some are calling
him now, and simply having a hunger a passion for
(03:49):
targets and receptions. Now, I am not a J. Brown,
but I will pretend to be a J. Brown, he said, quote.
I'm never the receiver to go on the sideline or
try to cause problems on the sideline. I'm not that guy.
I think that's what you could describe as a diva,
but I'm not that person. Brown grumbled. AJ went on
(04:12):
to say, I'm a guy who goes off and talks
to the quarterback and talks to the offensive coordinator and
do it that way. I'm not a guy that's going
to cause commotion on the sideline. That's not who I am.
I'll never be that guy. Close quote. All right, So
let's discuss the question. Let's get right down to it.
That's why we have a sports radio show in the
(04:33):
middle of the night. The question Eagles receiver AJ Brown
diva or not a diva? And the scale is leaning
towards diva diva. I've got Bruce Willis, booby trap and stagecoach,
(04:55):
and we will lock all of these random things together
and we are gonna make a delicious steak sandwich. The
cheese steak sandwich. That's what we're gonna make. Man most
perfect sandwich out there, the cheese steak sandwich. So number
why we like A. J. Brown. He's a good player.
(05:21):
We'll get that out of the way. We get all
the niceties out of the way. He absolutely though, falls
into the primadonna receiver category. He's on the spectrum when
it comes to the prima donna receivers. Now there are
full blown prima donnas. And then there are those that
dabble in the diva tendencies. But if you look like
(05:42):
a diva, you sound like a diva, and you act
like a diva, guess what, you're a diva. It's not
what you say, per se, it's what you do. Actions
speak louder than words. We've we've learned that when we
were little kids. When you go to the bookstore and
you don't even have to buy the book, okay, but
(06:03):
when you go to the bookstore and you you open
up the book and you read a few chapters. Deva
wide Receivers for Dummies. AJ Brown checks a lot of boxes.
He forced his way off a team that was a
perennial playoff team in the Tennessee Titans while he had
a contract because he demanded more money. He said, I
(06:24):
need my money, I need it right now. And now
he's complaining on a team in the postseason. He was complaining,
caught on camera complaining about not getting the ball enough.
And when he says, hey, I think that's what you
could describe as a divo, and he talks about going
(06:44):
on the sidelines as a receiver and causing problems on
the sidelines, he says, but I'm not that person. That's
the money quote. There's a famous line. There's this show
on TV called Moonlighting back in the day. Bruce willis
the former Hollywood star there who had a line in
that show. His character did that. Everything a person says
before the word but is a lie. Right, So I'm
(07:09):
sensing a lie from AJ Brown. All right, I'm sensing
a lie. That's just the way it is. And now
page number two in terms of the game itself, and
I'm gonna get into hardos sports radio, little XS and
os for you can the Eagles beat the Niners without
(07:30):
AJ Brown putting up eye popping statistics? So the answer
is actually yes, But the degree of difficulty goes way way,
way way way up. That's the problem. Right, you can
always win a game because of the other teams in epitoo, Right,
brock Purty comes out and the glass slipper cracks and
(07:50):
he throws three interceptions, then it doesn't really matter what
AJ Brown does if all those interceptions happen to be
deep in Niner territory and then the Eagles get short field.
So you can figure that out. But the concern for
the Birds going in right the mission, the degree of
difficulties higher. This game has all the makings of a
booby trap situation. The overconfidence that Philly has from beating
(08:15):
up on tomato cans last week. The junior varsity the Giants,
who were a smoke and mirrors team, they ran over them.
Like if a soda can comes out on the interstate
and you're driving one of those big eighteen wheelers, well
the cans, it's got no chance. The Giants defense, they
are the same constituency that they offer the same level
(08:38):
of resistance as jello in a microwave. They provide no
resistance at all, and the numbers bear that out. The
Giants had the twenty fifth ranked overall defense in the NFL,
and now Philadelphia goes from playing the junior varsity to
the varsity. The forty nine ers second in total defense,
(08:59):
but the numbers. That number is not the most important number.
The biggest number, the meat and potatoes of the Philadelphia
Eagles is what you know what yes, right running the ball,
and that is the strength. It plays right into the
strength of the forty nine ers defense. The Giants were
(09:19):
ranked twenty eighth in the NFL, A thirty two team league,
it's stopping the run. The Niners are numbered two, number
two in the entire NFL at containing opposing running backs.
Only the Tennessee Titans were better during the regular season. Now,
that is what's known as the mother of all stats,
that tells you what has happened. Doesn't guarantee it's gonna
(09:40):
happen in this game. But you like to look at
that stat and say, well that there's pretty well for
the forty nine ers and not so good for the Eagles.
The Eagles key ingredient, the thing that keeps the engine running.
If that is taken away, well, now all of a sudden,
you have to depend on what was your kryptonite if
(10:02):
you're the Eagles, the passing game. Right, If that holds up,
the Eagles are gonna have to win on the arm
of Jalen Hurtz throwing the ball around. So therefore, at
that point that means JJ Brown will have to put
up or shut up. But that's not normally how the
Eagles have played. I know there are exceptions to the rule,
but the exception does not make the rule, and that
provides compelling drama to get us to watch the game
(10:26):
like we were gonna not watch the game. Any of course,
we're gonna watch the game. What else are we gonna
do on a weekend? Come on, all right? Final point?
So the forty nine I want to go to. The
forty nine is their wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who was
a non factor in the last game. These stars did
not align for Deebo Samuel. He is injured. Ding Dub
(10:47):
Debo raised some eyebrows with comments he made about the
Philadelphia craw What did he say? All right, so maybe
you missed this one. It has echoed around a bit,
but Deebo said, for him and for the Niners their money.
Quote he talked about playing on the road. He's asked
about playing on the road in the NFC Title game,
and Deebo Samuel said, quote, we know it's gonna be
(11:10):
loud in Philly, but no stadium is as loud as
ours at the end of the day. Apparently not at
the start of the day, but the end of the day.
All right, So question, will the Eagle fans help push
the hometown team into the wind column? Will they help
decide the outcome of the NFC Title Game? So I
(11:31):
am shaking my head, No, this is an age old
conversation that comes up home field advantage, and I'm not
a believer in home field advantage about ninety percent of
the time. I think it is bullpucky. As our friend J.
Scoop likes to say, home field advantage in and of
itself is not much of an advantage these days. And
(11:53):
if you're one of the people that are selling that,
it is a big advantage. That is an antequated take.
You're dating yourself, is what you're doing. Teams win on
the road all the time in the modern era. The
gap which was at one point the size of the
Grand Canyon Home and Road, has now been closed. And
(12:16):
in the NFL, I'm gonna make my elevator pitch to
why the home field advantage thing only works in one
scenario and not in the scenario that's going to play
out in the Eagle forty nine er game. So I'll
make my elevator pitch. The NFL does not to my knowledge,
and I may be raw on this. I just do
an overnight show. But I do not believe they travel
by stagecoach anymore. So there's no concern about players picking
(12:39):
up the Spanish flu when they're traveling across the country.
You are not dealing with the annoyances that discomfort, the
hardships of travel. It's smooth sailing. They fly first class.
They get to the airport, there's chartered luxury buses waiting
for them. They are then taken to a five to
(13:00):
our hotel in a beautiful part of whatever city they're
staying in. It's all laid out. They get there, the
keys are waiting for them on a table in the
lobby at the hotel. You're really roughing it on the road.
Oh my god, it's so difficult now. The point is,
it's not like the old days when you were on
standby at gate three and you were taking a school bus,
(13:22):
an old school bus that was rented out to the stadium.
It's not like that now. The crowd noise, it's gonna
be loud in Philadelphia, people will be going crazy, But
that's not gonna sway the outcome. What do they be
Maybe one or two jump offside penalties, premature snap penalties.
The only thing that does matter when it comes, and
(13:43):
now I've analyzed this, I've broken it down for years.
The only thing that does matter in home field advantage
is the weather conditions. If you have a dome team,
a warm weather team and they are playing in a blizzard,
now we got something. Now we got some. But it
(14:03):
is the same for both teams. But that is not
a factor this week. And the temperatures that kick off
at the Link on Sunday in the low fifties, so
mild conditions and cloudy in Philadelphia. Therefore, it's not like
the Niners are going to be freezing their behinds off.
It's it's not going to be the frozen tundra of Philadelphia.
(14:24):
The loud Eagle fans are not going to swing the
outcome of the game. Now, that said, the forty nine
Ers Santa Clara Compound has not been known as a
madhouse for fan nois so in that regard debo full
of bologny. But he is on the field, by the way,
the Niners Kyle Shanahan had said that Deebo Samuel, the coach,
had said that his star player would not practice because
(14:45):
of the ankle injury. But he was a partial participant
on the forty nine Ers practice report, so he was
on the field. He was limited, and he should play.
He got paid, he'll play. Will he be a decoy
or will he actually be a factor only the football
gods no, and we will find out this coming weekend.
(15:08):
All right, it is the Bend Maller Show, and right
now it is hockey season, and that means we need
to puck the world and we'll open up the NHL
pucking right now. So let's tick that button and we're
gonna pick two skaters and a goaltender and whoever gets
the most fantasy points will be declared the winner. And
(15:30):
we'll do this in a time. He matter. Let's get
over to Eddie, who are going first for some reason.
I don't know why. Clearly a mistake, but go ahead, Eddie. Please,
let's go with Lena's Ulmark from Boston Bruins. Right now,
Bruins are due for a slump, Eddie. Roberto, go ahead, Roberto.
David Pasternak back to back and belly to belly Bruins,

Thompson of my Buffalo Sabers, me and the Comic book
Guy and the Great Jack Hughes of the Devil's Back
to back and belly to belly. Go ahead, go um,
Let's hurry up. I'm gonna go. We don't have to hurry. No,
(16:15):
I have to say that it's contractually obligated. No, I'm
just worried that he's not gonna play agains something harder
than Golies. But I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go
with my guy, Philip Gustafsons Gusts. He's it for you
to say. Go ahead, Robert go You're probably not gonna
play why because you picked him? What what? Miko Ranston
(16:37):
in Oh I heard him Colorado, I Eddie, go ahead, Eddie.
I'll go with kill Capris off bad pick and alex
so terrible pick. That's a terror. You picked a Russian
bad go ahead, go ahead, Roberto v tech vennisink No
(16:59):
guy nice, No, Roberto's a hockey guy. That's right. You
know what, screw you. I'm gonna take a Russian Alexander
Georgie Georgiev George EV Georgiev. I don't say like you
didn't know that, Roberto. I don't say like Georgia Georgia.
Your name is GEORGEFF Russian Georgia, Georgief georgieva Georgie Georgiev.
(17:24):
I don't like that. Go ahead? Last uh wait, yeah,
that's that's I think I go out of order. Oh boy,
go ahead, George for ratings purposes. Jack Hughes already pecking.
I got Jacks. Sidney Crosby, all right, hey, Sydney, there
(17:46):
is the NHL puck um. Oh you already him out
of turn? What's up? You picked him? But out of turn? Well? No, no,
I picked him when I was supposed to assistance. No.
My last pick was some Russian goaltenderster the Colorado av

law a J. Brown's being a baby the Eagle receiver.
All that you need to remembers how he acted just
before and right after he forced his way out of Tennessee.
If Philly doesn't want to listen to that whining. They

Let's go back to the phones and we'll say hello
to Sir scratch off the Highways and Byways of Arkansas. Hello,
TikTok star, Sir scratch Off. I do it, you know,
(21:04):
being I was just sitting here talking this though. Uh
trucker Texas trucker. He's all asked me about my wreck
I had. And I'll tell you what. When you sit
there and you row five times and break a bunch
of stuff, you think about different things, you know. And
I didn't have no cage and have a little band
that time, and battery is flowing all over the place.
And I never knew I was gonna hit me in
the back of the head, you know. But you just
(21:24):
think about all that you dreaming. But anyway, being I
got it, took that food in there. Oh that's not
for those now, for those that were not listening. Earlier,
we talked about this college basketball game was interrupted through
Kane and Chicago Loyal or Chicago. We're playing in Pittsburgh
and some guy walked on the court with like an
(21:46):
Uber eats bag and some people say it's for TikTok. Now,
you're the internet guys for scratch off. You know all
about the Internet. So you think that was real or
do you think that was fake? No? I really think
he's real. But to hear hear people talk, I've got
a buddy lived out of way, noted for a long time,
and was that gene that the old lady wasn't she
supposed to be the one they took that food too,
(22:08):
And if she was, they should have put a little
angslight to them because you know that I made her
have to go bathroom. Give him the bad luck because
when she plays the balls, I'm hoping she don't get
to show up, because you know, that just pretty good luck,
you know. But I heard that was guarding that old
lady that follows that team around. So I mean that, oh, Eddie,
you know what he's saying there, Eddie, I have no
(22:31):
idea what he's like about that gene, that gene, that
that little lady that followed sister Jean. Oh okay, his
sister Jane Bowel movement joke? Is that what you're doing? Yeah? No,
I just try to figure out, Yeah, how older sister
Gee is one hundred and three years old? Good for her?
(22:55):
How old is she do one hundred and three? Is
she really? My god, I won't even live to see
one hundred, man, because I don't have so many people.
Most people won't live to be a hundred. That's the reality,
that's how it works. Yeah, gotta lived one hundred twelves
other day. I would you that birthday I gave know
the old boy trying to get me bringing some saldwich,
the average lifespans increasing all the time. It really is, man,
(23:17):
it really is. And I'll tell you what because I've
started putting a bunch of my habits, so I'll tell
you what. I feel a lot better anyway. You know,
big he said you used four hundred pounds. I was
up three seventy five. And I'm gonna tell you something
right now. I just uh, I can tell the different date,
tell of this fast food where I went to better eating.
And I'll tell you why I see it different than
that too, because I can say they eat five big
backs and not even take it. I mean, just keep
(23:37):
going because I like big Max. Well, I actually did not.
Everyone says when they lose a lot of weight, oh
you feel much better. I didn't feel bad when I
was fat, and I didn't feel that much better when
I lost weight. Now as I've gotten older, I lost
the wait a long time ago. But when as I've
gotten older, I feel I do feel a little better
when I don't eat heavy. So would you why you
(23:57):
know it's me? I just I don't know, man, It's
one of these things. My sea paths helped me out
because I don't even I've been back three years at
game where February third my wreck, and I haven't even
stopped one time take a nap, and I might here
till m twelve, you know, kill him hours of night,
and I'm still a lot better. I get to talk
to you guys, and here y'all talk. It make you
more to stay way too to see what's going on,
(24:17):
you know. But anyway, buddy, I just wanted to call
up and say, hey, you tell you and tell you
or you picked where you picked Borrow and when you
pick Hurts to win these two games, because I just
can't pick my homes. You're like an old Banny Rooster.
I just can't pick him for nothing. But I like
to see one Hurts go all way through. And I'm
looking about thirty four to seventeen in the super Bowl
(24:38):
with him playing against you know, the very popular Fifth
Hour podcast will have Benny versus the Penny on Friday,
and so I will save a lot of that for Friday.
But I listen. You kind of know by listening. If
you're listening closely and you do sir scratch off, you
know you know which way I'm leaning based on what
I've talked about, So you kind of kind of have
an idea. You have a pretty good idea. Which way,
(25:00):
all right, thank you. I must move on right now.
I have to. I have to move on away from you.

wherever you get your podcasts. Covino en Rich, give me
the hell. Yeah. This was a story today involving a
golf feud. Rory McElroy and Patrick Reid. Apparently if you
if you believe the reports, they got into it on
the driving range before the Dubai Desert Classic. I saw
(26:08):
the video you want to get into it in Dubai,
oh man, I saw the video of your hand off.
This was the most overblown bunch of garbage I have
ever seen way to sell it, Eddie. I mean, this
is so ridiculous that this was build as some sort
of a confrontation. I mean, that's the gentleman's game of golf.
(26:29):
Patrick Green walks over to him, Roy mclory shakes his
hand and then he kind of just goes back to
doing what he was doing. And then they were saying
that Patrick Reid threw a tea at him and he
threw it was this is unbelievably overblown. That's the most
overblown story of the YEA. Whose side of you on
Patrick Reid, side of Roy? I'm on Roy McRoy side.
(26:49):
I don't. I don't care about either of them. But
just his argument was the reason that he's not gonna
make up with Patrick Reid is because he says he
was subpoena by Patrick Reid's lawyers. Well, that would be
a good reason not to be h Yeah, I get
I'm not gonna be your buddy. I'm not gonna be Yeah,
I mean that does take. That takes takes some hoodspuzz,
(27:11):
you would say, for him to even come over and
want to like shake his hand, shake his hand. Team McElroy,
right there, I'm on team McElroy. But I heard about
this story and then I saw there's video this. Let
me check this out. I'm like, you gotta be kidding me.
It's an underhand pause nothing, a big old nothing burger.
I could throw a team much more effectively, Eddie. Yeah,
(27:33):
I mean, if you're gonna throwing a tea at him
is pretty pretty strong. Yeah, you gotta get some velocity
on that. He's doing a club out of him. Come on,
Eddie's going for the bludgeoning. Come on, see the bludgeoning tweet.
Have a feud. Let's have a feud. All right, thank
you for that? All right is the Bend Maller Show.
So Dak Prescott has ended up in the tabloids. Say
(27:57):
what that's right? Dak Prescott Alice Cowboys quarterback for now
twenty nine years old. Dak Prescott popping up in the
New York Post, page six, Why what did Dak do
Did he do something he was not supposed to do? Well?
Dak Prescott is attention, ladies. He's back on the market.
(28:20):
Dak Prescott is back on the market. That he tabloid
had the report that he had broken up with some
woman I'd never heard of who they were dating for
two years. So he's available, and I anticipate that within
hours it might already be out there. There will be
odds on who Dak will date next, whether it will
be a celebrity or non celebrity. Will he date a
TikTok star? Will he date Gizelle? Who is Dak Prescott
(28:44):
going to be dating? That will be on some of
the gambling websites before you know it. But he is available,
So Kathy and Madison, if you're interested, Queen Roxanne, I
know he's not Tom Brady, but to any of the
other beautiful women that love the show Andrew in the
Bay Air, if Dak Prescott's your type, you might want
to send a message because he's available right now now.
(29:06):
The bulletin Board material story the date line Cincinnati Mike
Hinton of the Bengals, causing some angst among those that
believe that bulletin board material decides the outcome of games.
Say what, Well, it turns out that the Cincinnati Bengals
(29:27):
player there was captured on video after I think it
was actually the late stages of the Bengals win over
the Buffalo Bills, and Mike Kenton, defensive back, said we
will see you all in burrow Head. Oh my god,
he said, burrow Head, Oh my god. Oh no, it's
(29:51):
