Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, you gotta love a good NFL comparison. How can
you not, huh? If we look at the NBA playoffs,
what would be the closest NFL team to the four
teams remaining in the NBA.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
I don't know about you.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
I think it's gonna be a fun little exercise here
that we're about to dive into. We're broadcasting live from
the tirec dot Com studios. Tirack dot com will help
get you there, an unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free
road hazard protection, and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tireck
dot com the way tire buying should be. So the
Miami Heat, they crushed the Boston Celtics in Game three

(00:41):
Sunday night. They won by twenty six points as the
Celtics just quit, They laid down like dogs. It was embarrassing.
And yet Miami they have a three to zero series
stranglehold lead as they're gonna move move on to the
NBA Finals here in short order. But I started thinking

(01:03):
about this. If you look at these four teams remaining,
and there's two of them, am not going to be
remaining for much longer in the Celtics and the Lakers.
If you went team by team, what's the closest NFL
team that you could compare these NBA playoff teams too.
So if you start with the Miami Heat, which NFL

(01:26):
team is the closest version of the Miami Heat? I
would look at it this way. This is a tough
one because you look at the Heat and they've got
one true star in Jimmy Butler. Bam Autebayo is a
good player, but he's a bit inconsistent. Then you got

(01:47):
a bunch of undrafted dudes that are making key contributions.
It's not the easiest thing to figure that out in
the NFL. But what you're looking for, you're looking for
a team it's pretty good, maybe overachieving. They grind and
they might only have one true star. Now here's the deal.

(02:10):
It's not a good comparison for last year, but for
the last couple of years, I would say, like the
previous couple of years before last year, I would say
the Titans are a decent comparison because think of it
this way, except for last year where they crashed and
burned the second half of the season, didn't even make

(02:31):
the playoffs. If you go back a couple of years
remember when they made it to the AFC Championship Game
against the Chiefs that year, would be a pretty good
comparison to what we're seeing with the Miami Heat right now,
where you've got a true star and Derrick Henry. It's
not like the Titans have had just extraordinary star power.
They've got Ryan Tannehill as their quarterback. You know, they

(02:53):
don't have great weapons at wide receiver. I think at
that time they might have had aj Brown, who kind
of makes a difference, right, But a couple of years
ago when they made the AFC title Game, I think
that's a decent comparison with the Miami Heat. Now, if
you spin it forward, maybe the Lions this upcoming season,

(03:14):
they could be Miami Heat. Like that's gonna be really difficult, obviously,
And that's the thing as we do this and you
look at the final four NBA playoff teams that are remaining,
there might not be a great NFL comparison a couple
of them, yes, But I think the Miami Heat that's

(03:36):
a tough one because it's hard to find exactly what
they have roster wise, lack of true star power. You've
got Jimmy Butler and a bunch of like largely undrafted
grinders and they're in the Eastern Conference Finals with the
three oh series lead, about to go to the NBA Finals.
That's not the easiest thing to find In the NFL.

(03:57):
I would say the Titans from a couple of years
ago when they overachieved and made it to the AFC
Title Game. I would say a good candidate for this
season would be the Lions. Now, if you move on
to Boston Celtics, what NFL team is the closest version
of the Celtics. I think you could throw a couple

(04:18):
of teams out here. I would say the Eagles would
be a pretty good example where you look at what's similar. Well,
the Eagles they made it to the Super Bowl last season,
but the Celtics were in the NBA Finals last season,
so that's similar. You look at star power, Jason Tatum,
Jalen Brown, Man the Eagles, Jalen Hurts had a breakout year.

(04:43):
He was a legitimate MVP candidate, might have wanted if
he hadn't gotten hurt against the Bears. You've got aj Brown,
You've got Devonte Smith, You've got Dallas Godder, You've got
a lot of dudes as far as pass catchers, that
they've got some sizzle, right, They've got some star power,
and in terms of success team wise, some of the

(05:04):
things line up. So I think the Eagles are a
decent comparison. I would say that's probably the best one.
I also thought maybe Bills, maybe, but they haven't had
the long run in the playoffs. They haven't reached the
super Bowl like the Boston Celtics just got to the
NBA Finals. So I think the Eagles are a better comparison.

(05:27):
They'd probably be the the They be the closest version
to the Celtics. There Lakers, who are the Lakers of
the NFL. It's gotta be the Cowboys, right, It's gotta
be where if you look at what's similar, Okay, well,
high expectations, huge brand names that you know, the drill,

(05:51):
people love them or they hate them. That synks up.
But also if you look at the Cowboys, what's similar
to the Lakers here is that you'll get some success
with the Cowboys or the Lakers, and people get all
riled up, and sometimes it's it's just misleading, right, Like
the team's not gonna be able to live up to

(06:12):
the hype. Where if you look at Dallas last season,
what happened in the playoffs, Well, they beat Tampa and
beat them convincingly, and you might say, oh, big deal,
it's Tampa. They were eight and nine. I know, but
that didn't stop a lot of people overwhelmingly taking Tampa

(06:32):
in the playoffs where it's like it's Tom Brady, how
do I bet against the Goat? I can't trust the
Cowboys as far as I can throw them, And yet
the Cowboys won the game convincingly, and then it was like, oh,
look out for Dallas, here they come. And then the
next week, Dak Prescott's throwing a couple of terrible interceptions
against the forty nine ers and their season was over. Now, granted,

(06:55):
it's not going to sync up perfectly because the Lakers
made it to the conference finals the Cowboys didn't last season.
It's not gonna be perfect, but I think that's the
closest comparison from at least last season. Now a good
Laker candidate. As far as an NFL team for this season,

(07:17):
I think it could be the Jets, or think about it,
Aaron Rodgers comes over there, he gets traded if they
start winning a few games early on. Think about when
Brett Favre did it. They got out to an eight
and three start and everybody was all fired up, whoa
look out for this dam then they crashed and burned.

(07:39):
I think the Jets look with a legitimate defense, with
some playmakers. Offensively, you put Aaron Rodgers in there. Garrett
Wilson just won Offensive Rookie of the Year. They're a
really good wide receiver. So you bet Aaron Rodgers there.
I'm not gonna say it's all hype and no substance.
I just think that the hype could exceed the reality,

(08:02):
you know, And that's where we're at with the Lakers.
The Lakers give them props. They got to the conference finals,
but man, it was just, you know, after the first
two games, it was kind of embarrassing what the the
talking points were. It was just like, oh, they were
really close and they almost won. It's like what they lost.

(08:25):
They freaking lost. What are we doing here, this idea
of oh they gave it the old college try. They
got within a whisker. They were an eyelash away, Like
when do we do that? Especially for a team brand
wise and legacy wise. Historically, that's in the rarefied air

(08:45):
that the Lakers are at. I just couldn't believe that.
But anyway, a team in the NFL that might be
a little over hyped. They've got some star power and
they don't quite as far as some think they will.
I think that could be the Jets this season. It
certainly was the Cowboys last year. Last team here, who's

(09:10):
the NFL version of the Denver Nuggets. This one is tough,
and I think this is probably the toughest comparison of
the four NBA teams trying to find an NFL team
the best I could come up with. Listen, you might
come up with something better than me, and if you do,
feel free to check in. But the best I could

(09:32):
come up with is either the Patriots or the Steelers.
Now hear me out on this again. I breface this
with this is the best I could come up with.
I don't think there's anything great unless I'm just overlooking
something because this is the way I think of it.
I think of Denver. They obviously have star power right where.

(09:56):
You've got Nicolo Jokic, a two time MVP. You've got
Jamal Murray. But it's not a team that gets a
whole lot of attention. They don't have the flash that
some other teams do. Put it this way, if the
roles are reversed, if the Lakers win two home games,

(10:21):
no one is talking about Denver like, Wow, they came close.
They might have figured some stuff out. Look out for
Denver going forward. No one is saying that they're like
Lakers Lakers, Lakers Lakers Lakers. It just doesn't land the
same way. So in terms of Denver lacking flash, that's

(10:41):
what I was really looking for. And so I'm thinking
of teams that lack some sizzle, lack some flash right now.
The Patriots certainly do that. Now that the tricky part
is the Patriots don't have a two time MVP on
the squad. Mac Jones is not gonna be winning NFL
in vps anytime soon. It's not gonna be a perfect comparison.

(11:04):
But in terms of a team that's got some star
power but lacks flash, good luck with that. And it's
not easy to find in the NFL unless I'm overlooking something.
I just don't think there's a perfect comparison between the
Nuggets and an NFL team. But the Nuggets having star power,

(11:27):
it's a rare blend where they have star power but
they're often overlooked. It's amazing to me. They've got true
star power. They've got a two time MVB. And just
because Jokic, he doesn't have this style that just grabs you,
you know what I mean, He's not gonna be leading
SportsCenter highlights with some of the things that he does.

(11:50):
He's an incredible passer, he's highly effective, incredibly efficient, but
he's not gonna do a whole lot of things that
just cause your jaw to drop, you know. And so
that's that's a rare mixture where think about NFL MVPs,

(12:11):
you don't have they're typically quarterbacks. Does Mahomes like lack
for highlight reel plays?

Speaker 2 (12:17):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Did Aaron Rodgers?

Speaker 3 (12:19):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:20):
Did Brady?

Speaker 4 (12:20):
No?

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Right, Like, it's rare to have a back to back
MVP and just stylistically, there isn't that wow factor the
same way there is with a guy like Lebron or
some of the other MVPs. There's a wow factor with Jannis, Like,
I can't believe he just did that. He took off
from just inside the three point line and took a

(12:44):
step and then dunked it. It's crazy some of the
things that he does. It doesn't work the same way
with Jokic, And so that is the trickiest team to
find an NFL comparison. That was the one I struggled
with the most. But Lakers, probably Cowboys from last season,
maybe the Jets this year. Celtics will go with the

(13:04):
Eagles and Miami Heat. I think the Lions might be
that version. Now here's the thing. Are the Lions really
ready to take that step in their division? I would
say probably in the NFC collectively. Can you see the
Lions in the NFC title game? It's a stretch. It's

(13:28):
a stretch, all right. It's not gonna be perfect, but
it seemed that Lax Starbauer, right, Jimmy Butler is their
one true star. And they got a bunch of grinders.
That's Detroit. They got a bunch of grinders. And we'll
just see if they can rival to success. But anyway,
interested how that unfolds, and hey, look we scheehorned the

(13:53):
NFL in there, I think mildly successful. I would say,
feel free to check in eight seven seven ninety nine
on Fox. Yes, that is your number, eight seven seven
six three six nine. Also on Twitter at The No
Show is where you can find me. Okay, coming up next, man,
things could have looked so much different if this one

(14:16):
team won this one game. I'll explain right around the corner.
I'm Brian No in for Big Ben Mahler. This is

Speaker 1 (15:34):
Now, you know, Eddie, every now and then you'll have
a strong stance on something random, you know what I mean.
I'm curious if this is one of those times. It's
a mixed bag with you. Every now and then you're like, yeah,
shrug the shoulders, don't really care. But then you'll be like,
I'm gonna bang the table for this. I'm curious where
you land on this, Eddie Garcia. So there was a

(15:57):
picture I posted on Twitter and in the background there
were some Original Lays potato chips okay, And this got
a bit of a reaction where some people are like,
what do you doing Original Lays? What is that? And
some people are like, good choice, very good choice right there.
I am fond of Original Lays potato chips, not the

(16:19):
only one. Love barbecue as well. Where do you stand
on Original Lays, Eddie? Do you care or do you not?

Speaker 5 (16:25):
Well? I am a big chip fan, you are, yeah,
I'm much more than we can. We don't have them
in our house because they you know, I have no
willpower when there is a bag of chips, so we
never have them in our house. Uh So, I'm okay
with the Original Lays. I'm okay with it. I'm not

(16:46):
I'm not going to criticize you for that.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
Oh, I appreciate that.

Speaker 5 (16:49):
Man.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Yeah, it's uh.

Speaker 5 (16:50):
I would prefer sour cream and on you in a barbecue,
but okay, yeah, if that's if that's the only option,
I'm okay with it.

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Yeah. I normally rotate between. You know, I'll go with
barbecue lays, original lays, Maybe get some ruffles in the
mix there. But uh yeah, nothing wrong. I've noticed Eddie is,
especially where you live. Like when I lived in Portland,
I did a local show there for a few years.
That's a food town where they don't do simple, they

(17:20):
don't do basic. It's got to be eclectic. It's gotta
be wild. You gotta put something on it. And they
hate anything basic. But man, there's some basic food that's delicious.
I would put Original Lays on the basic food list.
That is absolutely top shelf. Not you cub huh.

Speaker 6 (17:40):
I mean, if it's the only thing there, I will
snack on it. But sour cream and onion, the Cheddar,
the Cheddar sour cream, barbecue lays, those all.

Speaker 5 (17:55):
The original Do they have Cheddar sour cream for lays?

Speaker 6 (18:00):
Rough, ruffles, ruffles, Yeah, I mean yeah, little potato chip.

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:03):
Yeah, how about you or Burlier? You a potato chip guy?

Speaker 3 (18:08):
Uh no, not really? Well yeah, Ruffles Jenner sour cream.
If it's not available, I'm always on a Torito's Flaming Hot.
That's like it's always in my house.

Speaker 1 (18:20):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (18:21):
I'm not a big fan of the exotic chips though,
Like I have a buddy who likes a lot of
different weird chip flavors. I'm not really.

Speaker 6 (18:30):
You're talking about like like the like MAUI like kettle chip, like.

Speaker 3 (18:36):
The like the baked potato ones that we're talking about,
or like the rib flavor.

Speaker 5 (18:43):
Yeah, just just there's some that were just kind of
out there, like I don't know, lime, like lime flavored
or something.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Ah man, my girl got lime flavored lays, I want
to say the other day terrible.

Speaker 5 (18:57):
Oh he likes these vinegar ones that make me gay. Yeah,
you know it's popular actually in Canada. Ketchup flavored blaze
really Yeah, I like I like ketchup okay, but.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
I'd have to try not on a chip. Yeah, I
can't imagine. I would love it, but I'd have to
try it to try.

Speaker 5 (19:17):
I had I had some chicken flavored potato chips. Uh,
and that was that was weird because I like chicken
just fine. Never thought I needed it in a potato chip.
And when I tasted it, I'm like, yeah, that actually
does taste like chicken. But I have no desire to
buy a bag of those. But that's like, yeah, okay.

Speaker 3 (19:37):
I mean yeah, there was some Mexican street corn cheetles
tasting anything like Mexican street corn.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
Nothing terrible.

Speaker 5 (19:45):
Chips nice by the way, Brian, what's the kitty cat's name?

Speaker 1 (19:51):
Oh it's you won't believe this cat. Yeah, well it's
not ours.

Speaker 5 (19:57):
So just wandered in from the neighborhood, sitting next on
the couch, looking very happy. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
So what we're doing. We've been my girl and I.
We've rented furnished homes for like the last I guess
this is the fifth month now we've done it. So
we rented a furnished home in South Bend for four months.
That was over and done with, and so we had
to scramble to find the next place. Randomly. It's in Champagne, Illinois.

(20:28):
That's where I'm at right now. So we're renting this
random home and these people they've got two cats, very friendly.
They took about four or five days to warm up
to us. They thought we were evil the first four
or five days. Now they love us. But the girl
cat is named Chrissy. Apparently the guy is a big

(20:48):
fantasy football dude, and so it's Chrissy, after Christian McCaffrey,
and I swear to you this is not a joke.
The other cat's name is Cooper, and it's named after
Cooper Cup. So yeah, like that. The cat in the
picture is Chrissy, named after Christian McCaffrey, who was doing

(21:09):
some snuggling with me while I was getting my notes
ready for the show. That's what I've got going on
in my life right now. We've got two random cats
in a furnished home in Champagne, Illinois. That's how we're
getting down.

Speaker 5 (21:23):
There. It is interesting, yeah, with original.

Speaker 1 (21:26):
Lace as well. Let me get a call in here,
let me get am it a blind Seahawks fan. Welcome
to the show. I appreciate you being here, Emmett. What's
going on, Bud Brian?

Speaker 7 (21:38):
No, it's been a while, man, How you.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Been pretty good?

Speaker 4 (21:41):
Man?

Speaker 1 (21:41):
I'm running a furnished home in Champagne with two random cats.
Life couldn't be better.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
It was funny too, because you were you brought it up.
I was gonna ask you about it because I saw
the sweet earlier. But you are answered my questions. But
but I'll time in about the chip discussion really quick.
That's what's about the NBA playoff. I don't know if
you guys have had these, but there is a brand
of potato ships called Tims. I believe it is Their
barbecue potato ships are probably the best on the market

(22:11):
right now.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
They are great Tims, that's what they're called.

Speaker 7 (22:15):
Yeah, I think it's it might be a West Coast thing,
Berto Kuti. I don't know if you guys know what
I'm talking about, but they're more like flavorful like I
feel like they're more authentic barbecuey.

Speaker 5 (22:25):
They're good.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
Yeah, they're pretty followed the NBA playoffs, Brian, the first
two rounds were great. But I'm not gonna lie like
I'm pretty disappointed with these conference finals. I mean, the
Lakers got absolutely just just played the past three games.
I mean Jamal Murray is that dude. I mean yesterday

(22:48):
he did have like kind of the crappy like and
the second, you know, like quarter you know, and bad
second Halflet those like first two quarters, that dude was electric.
And for the Celtics over to that series, you know,
with the Heat, it's just I think that there's just
so much just random, just tension and beef going on
in that Walker room. I don't think they like that

(23:09):
coach very much. I just think it's a horrible situation.
And I don't think the Lakers are going to get swept,
but I don't like I will not be shocked if
the Celtics got sweats on Tuesday in Miami. And which
is this is an interesting part too, you know, as
I'm talking about the sweep, is Steve the Seger on
Chris and Arney earlier said, no matter what happens with

(23:30):
these two games, the finals are going to be scheduled
on June first. So if the Heat sweeps the Celtics,
they have like a week and or nine days off.
I believe that's from the twenty third to the first.
So if the Lakers, you know, win a couple, then
that's you know, whoever wins the Lakers series. If it's

(23:51):
not a sweep and the Heat is a sweep or
you know, vice versus, it's a little bit of a
an advantage. I mean, well, nine days vacation, but for
the finals, get your body right. I mean, you're room
for the sweep if you're a the Nuggets are if
here the celt or the heat pardon me.

Speaker 1 (24:07):
No, it's a good point, absolutely it is. Yeah, where
I wonder both series, like you said, they might be sweeps,
but if one isn't and one is, then yeah, the
rest factor that that could be an advantage, right there?
Good stuff, Yeah, good, good to hear from you. I'm
gonna try those Tims. I don't understand emmett. I don't
understand the regional like products or restaurants. I don't understand that.

(24:30):
I want Tim's potato chips. I don't know if it's
just a West Coast thing. I don't get that.

Speaker 7 (24:35):
Yeah, I don't know it's but there. I think they're
the best ones. And even their regular potato chips are
pretty good too. I mean I prefer those over lays
any day. But yeah, the hot chip talk with Brian.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Note there it is. I didn't know we'd be here,
but I appreciate that, appreciate you bringing that to the table.
Very well done by you. Nicely done. Yeah, let me
circle back to the sports stuff in a second. But
if I go on a mini rant, I don't get
these regional either restaurants or products, you know what I mean?
Where Like he's mentioning Tim's potato chips, it doesn't sound

(25:10):
like it's nationwide. Why not? Why not? El Loco is
freaking delicious. Let's expand that bad boy. You know. It
shouldn't just be in the in the on the West coast,
you know, or waffle House in the South. It's a
legendary restaurant. Let's get some of those in the north
or the West or you guys probably never heard of this.

(25:32):
It's like a Midwest thing. Have you ever had Western
salad dressing? It's very much like French dressing. I love it. No,
throw some bacon bits on that love Western dressing. It's like,
I don't know if it's just in the Midwest. There
are plenty of places that I've lived or visited. Can't
find it, no where to be found. Why I don't

(25:54):
get that expansion. We need food expansion over here, That's
what we need. Restaurant expansion. If you're successful enough, should
be nationwide. That's how I.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Feel, well, well, it comes to like restaurants stuff. It's
like about the quality of the food, right, and it's like,
you gotta it's got to be the same, yea. So
it takes a while, Like I think In and Out's
gonna expand out to like Tennessee, see, but they got
to open up. They opened up a like a what
do you call it, like a headquarters in Tennessee where
they're gonna have all their like meat products there.

Speaker 1 (26:27):
Oh. You know what's funny is uh I was just
in Orlando a couple of weeks ago and they had
it was tropical Poio is what it was called. It
was just it was very very similar to Eloyo Loco,
but it was named something else. I don't know if
their cousins or something. It was very very similar chicken.

(26:49):
It was just tropical Poyo.

Speaker 5 (26:51):
Well, they do have that thing with Hardy's and Carls Junior. Right,
it's the same thing, but it's called different places, a
different name in different places. Yep.

Speaker 1 (26:59):
Yeah, weird to me. Weird, I don't get.

Speaker 3 (27:02):
It's like the best foods mayonnaise in the West Coast, right,
and then it's called something else Hellman's. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:11):

son was forced to resign from the University of Michigan.
They just hired him recently to be kind of a
recruiter scout kind of thing, but apparently he liked some
tweets that were not tweets he should be liking. I
don't know exactly what they were, but someone found out

(28:10):
about it, and so he was forced to resign a
couple of days after getting the job. There were, of course,
his father was a legend with the Wolverines.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Wow, there must have been some pretty bad tweets. You're
getting run out of town with a last name like that.

Speaker 5 (28:24):
Yeah, yeah, he was an NFL scout apparently is where
he came from. It said racist, racist tweets he liked specifically.
I don't know what they were, but he has deleted
his Twitter account. That always helps.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
I guess that would do it. That would be a
way to get get booted. Yeah, that's I don't understand.
Some people just don't understand social media. It's like, we
can see what you like. It's that anonymous, so you
might want to keep that in mind. You know, we
can see who you follow. That's something else, right, So man, look, look,

(29:03):
if he's liking racist things, it is the first I've
heard of it. If that is what he actually did,
I have no issue with him being booted out. I'm
just saying, if you're gonna do something a little racy,
if you will, just don't be under the impression that
no one will know. We can find that out, no doubt.

(29:24):

to something Emmett was saying about the Conference finals. Man,

(29:46):
it has been disappointing, very disappointing. We're both series it's
a three to zero series lead for both the Nuggets
and the Miami Heat. That's just lacking drama, big time
lack of drama. And then on top of it, what's
the record. Teams with a three to zero series lead

(30:07):
are one forty nine and oh they have not lost.
No team has come back from an three series deficit.
Never happened in the NBA. So you have that on
top of it, and it's like, wake me when it's
the NBA Finals and that sucks. You go back to
the rest of the playoffs. There have been some really

(30:30):
interesting series. There have been some close fights, some drama
along the way, some upsets. You go back to the
first round and think about the Kings and Warriors that
was the best of seven series. There have been some
good moments along the way, but man, the Conference Finals

(30:50):
not not big on the drama thus far. Like listen,
you can like both the NBA and the NHL playoffs.
A lot of people are under the false impression that
they have to pick one and then just completely dump
on the other. You don't have to. You can like both.
And this isn't to you know, dump on the NBA playoffs,

(31:12):
but the NHL, if we're comparing conference finals, it's not
even close. We've had four overtime games in the two
games so far. I guess you could say what is
similar is you have two oh series leads in both
of those series, but in terms of how close they've

(31:33):
been thus far, there's at least been more drama in
that department. But you could how crazy would that be?
You could have all four series in the conference finals
between the NBA and the NHL, you could have a
three to oh series lead in every single series. That's
wild right there, That's crazy, all right? Coming up next,

(31:55):
things could have looked so much different if one team
won one game. I'll pay that off for you right away.
Coming up, I'm Brian though in for Big Ben Malor.

Speaker 3 (33:00):

Speaker 5 (33:00):
The Last of Us was amazing?

Speaker 1 (33:02):
You like that?

Speaker 5 (33:02):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
Okay, I like that recommendation. Let's go out to the
militia here when you're in. We were all out the
red carpet for you and I'll pay it off in
just a little bit. There's one team. If they won
one game, things would look a whole lot different. First, though,
Arnold is in Saint Louis. Shout out my dad from Alton, Illinois,
just right outside of Saint Louis. Arnold. What's on your mind, Bud? Oh,

(33:29):
I don't know if we have Arnold Arnold? You there, Bud,
can you hear me?

Speaker 8 (33:34):
M M?

Speaker 1 (33:36):
I don't think so. Well maybe maybe I don't think so.
I were not Oh, I could not complete Like Arnold
was just running right down the sideline cornerback fell down.
I couldn't get him the ball, you know what I mean,

(33:56):
short armed, It couldn't complete it. It's okay, it happened.
Eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox is your number
if you want to check in. Hopefully we'll complete passes
going forward. So I was thinking about this with the
Miami Heat. So they've got a three to zero lead
in the Eastern Conference Finals. Now what's interesting to me

(34:17):
is Miami lost its first play in game they lost
to the Hawks. If Miami had won that game, they
would have been the seventh seed. Instead, they lost that
first game. Then they won the next game, so they
became the eight seed. That completely changed their path. And

(34:40):
so I'm wondering how things might have played out. So
if you go through this and it doesn't have to
be this long drawn out, thing. But I think there
are a couple of things that stand out. If Miami
was the seventh seed, their first round matchup would have
been against Boston. They would have played the Celtics, who

(35:02):
they're playing right now. They would have played them in
the first round. And then if you look moving forward,
they would have played the Sixers. Right, Like, the Sixers
still beat the Nets, right, so you would have the
You would have the Heat against the Sixers in the

(35:22):
second round, assuming right, like the Heat won the first round. Right, Okay,
so we assume they win the first round, they would
play the Sixers in the second round, and then in
the Eastern Conference finals, if seating held true, they would
have played the Bucks. So that's interesting, right, Think about

(35:42):
it this way, Where would we be if that was
the case? You think about momentum being a real thing.
Miami after beating the Box in a gentleman's sweep, think
about that. Yeah, honest gets hurt for two and a
half games. I'm not taking all the credit away from Miami,

(36:04):
but that was a big deal in that series. You
beat a one seed. Now all of a sudden, you're
walking around like a peacock. You've got some confidence, You've
got some swag, and then they beat the Knicks convincingly
in the second round, swag factor goes up a little
bit more. Now they're feeling themselves. They're still huge underdogs

(36:26):
against the Boston Celtics, huge before the series began, and
they are punking Boston right now. I don't know, honestly,
this might sound crazy. I don't know if Miami gets
by Boston the same way, if it's a first round
series might have been the exact same thing. We'll never know.

(36:46):
But here's the interesting part. If Miami was a seventh
seed and played Boston in the first round and they're
doing in the first round what they're doing right now
in the Eastern Conference finds, how are we then looking
at Joe Missoula right like Joe's getting crushed right now
with what's happening in the Eastern Conference finals. Imagine if

(37:10):
he takes over for Ema Udoka. They were in the
finals last season and now they're on the verge of
getting swept in the first round. If Miami is a
seventh seed, that would be wild. And then you think
about Mike Budenholzer, the Bucks head coach. Previously Bucks head coach,
he was fired they lost the first round series to

(37:33):
the Heat. If Miami wins that first play in game,
they're a seventh seed, it might be Heat versus Bucks
in the Eastern Conference Finals, but might still have his job.
So it's wild. Just one game. If it went differently,
could be a whole different scenario. All right, come it
up next. Everybody wants this role.
