Speaker 1 (00:00):

Tirack dot com the way tire buying should be. So

(00:23):
Bill Barnwell of ESPN, he uh comes out with the
list each year, and so he's looking at the best
sets of playmakers. He's looking at wide receivers, running backs,
tight ends. So basically, from a quarterbacks point of view,

(00:47):
what he has to work with, who he has to
throw to or hand off to. Right, So, in terms
of offensive arsenals, which teams ranked the highest, which teams
ranked the lowest. So the idea here is, if you
had an average quarterback, average offensive line, average head coach,

(01:08):
played at an average pace, right, try to make it
as equal as possible. Which teams have the best sets
of playmakers. That's the whole concept, so pretty easy to digest.
This is just for the twenty twenty three season. He's
not projecting the next five years or anything like that.
Just twenty twenty three. So a couple of things stand

(01:30):
out here. I'll give you just the top ten and
we'll go slowly here. I'm not saying you're stupid. I'm
just saying if they're you know, you just started hearing Seahawks, Niners,
it just sounds like blah blah blah blah blah. So
the top five in terms of playmakers right wide receivers,
running backs, tight ends, Bill Barnwell has the Niners first,

(01:54):
followed by the Bengals, Eagles, Seahawks, and Charge. Then to
round out the top ten, he's got the Viking sixth,
followed by the Cowboys, Dolphins, Jags, and Falcons. Pretty interesting there,

(02:15):
So let's start at the bottom of the top ten. Jacksonville.
How about that at number nine. I don't know about you,
but number nine sounds rich. It sounds a little high there.
But he breaks it down and he's talking about he
weighs wide receivers more heavily than running backs and tight

(02:37):
ends for the you know, the just the impact, the
overall impact, big playability, that sort of thing. So he
looks at the wide receivers Christian kirk Zay Jones, It's like, Okay,
Calvin Ridley comes back from the gambling suspension, missed all
of last season, okay, And then you sprinkle in there
you've got Evan Ingram the tight end, had a very

(02:58):
good season last year, and also Travis Etn the running
back coming back from a Liz Frank injury as a
rookie and he's expected to have a bigger year. Still,
I think nine is a little rich there. Number ten
and this is an interesting team, the Falcons. If their

(03:20):
quarterback desmen Ridder is any good, they're gonna have playmakers.
We all know about these top ten guys, right each
of the last three years. They just drafted Jon Robinson
out of Texas. They took the wide receiver Drake London,
took the tight end Kyle Pitts, so you've got something
to work with there. Then the running backs, it's pretty

(03:42):
interesting what they have going on there where you not
only have Bijon Robinson, but you've got Tyler Aljeer who
had a good rookie season. So when you look at that,
you got a decent amount to work with. So those
will be my questions for those two teams. We start

(04:03):
off with the heavy hitters Jacksonville and the Falcons. Sorry,
That's what caught my eye first. But if Trevor Lawrence
can take another step forward, nine sounds a little rich
for the playmakers around him, but it's not gonna be
dramatically worse, not like their twentieth in terms of offensive playmakers.

(04:25):
So if Trevor Lawrence can take another step forward, big
leap from year one to year two last season, if
he could take another leap in year three, think about
the leap that Josh Allen made the Bills quarterback in
year three. If we could see something comparable from Trevor Lawrence,
you could see Jacksonville make more noise come playoff time.

(04:47):
And as far as the Falcons the NFC collectively, you
whittle it down to the NFC South, that division is
wide open the NFC. Outside of the top couple of teams,
it's it's wide open to make the playoffs, I would say,
and I think most people would what we're projecting to
be the top three teams in the NFC. You're thinking

(05:09):
the Eagles, the Niners, probably the Cowboys in that mix.
Three might differ from person to person, but something along
those lines. We could agree. Three to four playoff spots
are just up for grabs, and so I'm curious to
see what Desmond Riddard does the Falcons quarterback. I know
a lot of people are rolling their eyes, like how

(05:31):
grady is it gonna be? No, I don't know if
he's just decent, If he's good, I think the Falcons
could be a playoff team. Now. A couple other things
from this list from Bill Barnwell the sets of playmakers here,
something else stands out immediately. So number one, the Niners
in terms of playmakers. I don't dispute that there are

(05:53):
playmakers galore. Where you've got Deebo, Samuel Brandon, Niyuk, George Kittle,
Christian McCaffrey. That is a who's who of playmakers around
the quarterback. And then I like, way down the list,
twenty sixth in terms of playmakers, the Patriots. So my

(06:13):
mind goes immediately here where if you were to do
the flip flopping, the role reversal. There was a lot
of love for old Brock Purdy last year, and look,
he played well. He definitely exceeded expectations. There's no doubt
about that. He went from the last pick of the draft,
mister irrelevant, to what an eight game winning streak and

(06:35):
greatly surpassing expectations. But if you look at Brock Purdy
and his reputation, what's commonly said about the guy, and
you compare that to Mac Jones with the Patriots. Now,
think about this, the Niners they bypassed Mack Jones and
they took Trey Lance with that number three overall. Pick

(06:59):
a couple of years years ago, and Trey Lance is
right now projected to be holding a clipboard. Okay, he
might be backing up Rock Purty as long as perty's healthy,
that's the plan. What would we be saying about Brock
Purdy if he were the Patriots quarterback? And what would

(07:21):
be would we be saying about Mac Jones if he
were the Niners quarterback? Like, that's something you gotta take
into account. And that's immediately where my mind goes when
I see this list from Barnwell about the top playmakers,
these sets of NFL playmakers, where if Mac Jones all

(07:42):
of a sudden is throwing to Deebo, Samuel ayuk Kittle
McCaffrey and handing off to McCaffrey as well, I guarantee
you as numbers are way better than they have been.
Think about what that guy had. And I'm not telling you,
don't don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm not telling
you Mac Jones walks on NFL quarterback water. I'm not

(08:05):
saying that. I'm just saying that your supporting cast matters.
And if Mac Jones somehow upgraded from what he's been
dealing with in New England when it was like Jacoby Myers,
and Jacoby Myers isn't even there anymore, the guy that
put up okay numbers, he's with the Raiders. He's gone.

(08:27):
That's how bad it is for Mac. He doesn't even
have Jacoby Myers anymore, but he's got a former defensive
coordinator calling offensive plays last season and Matt Patricia. Just
think of Mac Jones upgraded from the mess he's had
in terms of quote unquote weapons to throw to. He
went from the Patriots to the Niners, that would make

(08:48):
a dramatic difference. And the main thing is, it's not
me trying to prop up Mac Jones. It's really me
looking skeptically at one brock Purty and I let this
be known last year, and my goodness, the party police
came after my throat. Good lord, I'm just like, yeah,
I'm not convinced. Oftentimes he's thrown to wide open receivers

(09:12):
and it was just met with, well, what was you rather?
He does know what settle down? If you put brock
Party with the Patriots, do you think they'd be ripping
off win after win after win after win. I don't,
and I would hope you wouldn't either. That's what I think.
Something else on this list here the Chiefs check in

(09:36):
at number nineteen. How amazing is it? And by the way,
right after that the Bills at number twenty, starting with Mahomes.
How incredible is it that this dude put up the
numbers he did with a playmaking group that you could
put at nineteen in the entire NFL. Mahomes threw for

(10:01):
over fifty two hundred yards forty one touchdowns in twelve picks.
That's freaking insane. He barely trailed to a tongue of
I LOA for the highest passer rating in the NFL
last season. He was point three behind Tua you know
who did put up good numbers, But for Mahomes to

(10:22):
put that up with the nineteenth best supporting cast, according
to Barnwell, you don't have to agree with this. It's
not the gospel, but it's definitely gonna be in that
vicinity if you don't agree, it's exactly nineteenth. So Mahomes
did that with the nineteenth bets supporting cast TUA. According
to Barnwell, he's got the eighth best supporting cast. It

(10:45):
just makes it even more mind blowing that Mahomes is
putting up those numbers, winning regular season MVP, winning Super
Bowl MVP with the supporting cast that ranks nineteenth. That
is insane and also not too shabby. Josh Allen with
the Bills the twentieth best supporting cast in terms of playmakers,

(11:08):
and he had a great season as well. Josh Allen
has put up numbers the last three years and last
year was no exception. So I think it makes it
even more impressive when some of the top quarterbacks are
putting up these type of numbers with supporting casts that
aren't that great. Think about this. This is crazy to me,

(11:29):
and this might not be incredibly accurate because listen, Travis
Kelcey is fantastic. I know in terms of the Chiefs
wide receivers, it's not a who's who, But does this
sound wrong to you too? Barnwell has the Bears set
of playmakers ranked seventeenth and the Chiefs set of playmakers

(11:50):
ranked nineteenth. He's got the Bears ahead of the Chiefs
in terms of wide receivers, running backs, and tight ends.
I mean they traded for Dj Moore. Okay, Cole Kamett
is all right as a tight end, but who else

(12:10):
is really impressive? Like Chase Claypowill, He's got a lot
to work with. Darnell Mooney is not a bad receiver
in the slot, but I don't know, collectively, I don't
know that it's better than the Chiefs with Travis Kelcey.
You know, like you just start with that at I

(12:33):
know these receivers aren't aren't crushing it, but I mean
you got Sky Moore mvs. Cadarius Tony as it is
a collective, eh, but Travis Kelcey is a flat out stud.
However you slice it, it's amazing. We'll leave it at that,
that Mahomes is putting up those type of numbers with

(12:56):
a lackluster supporting cast. Now on the other side of this,
think about some of these either lesser quarterbacks or young
quarterbacks that have a bad set of playmakers. Around them
so dead last Bill Barnwell has the Houston Texans in
terms of their wide receivers, running backs, tight ends. C J. Stroud.

(13:20):
There's a lot of fanfare for this rookie out of
Ohio State, and I know I saw the Georgia Game
two and the College Football Playoff and he was sensational.
But that guy, when it's all said and done, he's
gonna have five first round wide receivers, five of them.
That's who he was throwing to over the last two

(13:41):
seasons at Ohio State. What's gonna happen when he doesn't
have close to that at a much higher level. I mean,
think about this. It's role reversal.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
C J.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Stroud goes from what he was surrounded by at Ohio
State mostly playing less competition. You're playing against your Indiana's,
your Maryland's, you know, so you have that type of
supporting cast largely, not solely, but largely against lesser competition.
It's a complete flip flop. You go from that to

(14:16):
a lesser supporting cast and facing much better teams in
terms of talent, at least initially when he's went to
Houston Texans. That is a horrible freaking recipe right there.
And I know he was great in that Georgia game,
But I am a C. J. Stroud skeptic. Unless they

(14:38):
upgrade the talent around him, I'll put it this way,
he is not going to be a difference maker with
the thirty second set of playmakers in the NFL. Not
when he's used to arguably the top set of playmakers
when he was in college at Ohio State. That could
not be more different than what he's used to. And oh,

(14:59):
by the way, hey, Bryce Young and his Carolina Panthers,
they check in at thirty first in terms of sets
of playmakers according to Bill Barnwell, again, not the gospel,
but it's gonna be in that ballpark. I don't think
you're gonna be wowed by the collection that they have
over there. They picked up Adam Thielen, whose better days

(15:19):
are behind him. You don't have a who's who to
throw to when you're looking at Terras Marshall junior DJ Shark.
You picked up Hayden Hurst, you picked up Miles Sanders
from the Eagles. It's they got upgrade that quite a bit.
What makes me feel better about Bryce Young. I'm worried

(15:40):
about the frame I'm worried about durability, as most people are.
But what makes me feel better about about Bryce Young
initially is that he still put up good numbers and
he was not surrounded by a great set of playmakers
in terms of wide receivers to throw to. Last year,
he still had thirty two touchdowns five picks. That was good.
Leading receiver believe it or not, last year at Alabama

(16:03):
was Jamiir Gibbs, the running back that was Bryce Young's
leading receiver last year. But he still was special. So
that gives me more hope about the Panthers at least
in twenty twenty three with Bryce Young compared to CJ.
Stroud with the Houston Texans.

Speaker 3 (16:21):
Like se c J.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Stroud was blessed with so much talent around him, and
I know he was special against Georgia, but he got
the doors blown off of him by Michigan the game prior.
You know, I don't know why forty five to twenty
three is just it's like it doesn't even compute. It's
like it didn't even happen. It's all about the Georgia game.
I am skeptical of CJ. Stroud, especially as a rookie.

(16:46):
I think it could be a struggle. Your thoughts more

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Hey, Ed, do you have any love for Wheel of Fortune?
Over there?

Speaker 4 (18:10):
It was on the other day when we were over
visiting my mother in law, and uh, I hadn't watched
it in a long time, so I was watching a
little bit of it.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Uh, but eh, yeah, doesn't do a ton for you.

Speaker 4 (18:23):
I mean, I'm not going out of my way to
watch it, but it was on the TV and I
did pay attention.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
So yeah, okay, So you don't hate it, you don't
despise it, you know, you just don't go out of
your way.

Speaker 4 (18:34):
Yeah. Yeah, I can't believe it's still the same two
people that have been on there for twenty something years
or whatever.

Speaker 1 (18:41):
That's the thing. It's gonna change sometime, yeah, Pat say Jack.
He announced he's planning to retire at the end of
next season. So he's hosted for forty years.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
Now and has Fana been there the whole time?

Speaker 1 (18:55):
I you know, I don't know if they started at
the same time. I'd have to look that up, but
majority of the time, if not the full time. But
the replacement has been revealed here, Eddie, it is Ryan Seacrest.
He'll be taking over for Pat say Jack. This will
begin the fall of twenty four, is what we're looking at.

Speaker 4 (19:17):
Well, former radio guy. I guess we should be happy
for him.

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Yeah, we should be that.

Speaker 4 (19:21):
I'm a huge fan, to be honest with you, But okay.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
I think I think it's a good you know, if
this is like the four by one hundred meter relay,
I feel like Pat Sajack handing the baton to Ryan
Seacrest makes sense. Where they're they're kind of like the
friendly neighbor, if you will. At least that's their delivery mostly,
so that makes sense. Now, there was a guy who

(19:46):
who threw his name out there, Eddie.

Speaker 4 (19:49):
It wasn't Aaron Rodgers, was it.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
It was not Aaron Rodgers. I would imagine you would
you'd be able to tell whose distinct voice this is, though.
Check this out. I want to throw my name in
a hat. I ain't trying to give up my day job.
I ain't trying to give up my podcast. But I
tell you, if we'll a fortunately.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
Call to ask me to host the show for a
couple of days, I wouldn't not.

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna have steven A.

Speaker 4 (20:14):
Yeah he worked here, by the way I worked. I
worked on his show.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
How was it, Edie?

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Oh it sucked. I hated it. It was not because
he was mistreated me in any way. He was very
nice to me. Nothing personal at all. I'm just not
a fan.

Speaker 1 (20:33):
Of that guy. Stay off the week man. He is
blown up. Steven A is everywhere, and I like his stuff.
Was his show, That's what I don't get. Was his
show dramatically different on Fox than what he's doing now.

Speaker 4 (20:50):
I would guess not. I don't listen to what he's
doing now, so I can't say one hundred percent. But
he did not like the hours. It was a morning show.
He did not like getting up early.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
Gotcha, gotcha? Yeah. But man, his career is hitting the overdrive.
Good for him, Good for him. And that's the thing.
I really don't hear many people say anything bad about
the guy, you know what I mean. He's got a
lot of people saying, oh he's a good dude, good dude,
friends with our guy, big brother Jake, you know, former

(21:23):
technical producer here on the Big Ben Mellor Show. So
those guys are tight. Yeah. So Ryan Seacrest, do you
have that to look forward to? Eddie No, steven A
Smith on Wheel of Fortune. I guess Vanna is planning
to be still around. I think that's the game plan
right now, but subject to change over there. I was
hoping for Bill Belichick. I was hoping that would be

(21:43):
his his second act when he moves on from coaching. Yeah, yeah,
to be the new pat, say Jack.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
That would have been a surprise. That would have been
a surprise.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
I would I would have recorded each episode that I
wasn't watching live if Belichick.

Speaker 4 (21:59):
Was there was There was one time, it was many
years ago, where he was a studio analyst for one
of the Super Bowls and he was great at it
and he was great.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Really yes, how long ago do you think that was? Oh?

Speaker 4 (22:15):
Man, it's been over ten years.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
Probably. Wow, I'm gonna have to try to find that.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
Yeah, I remember very distinctly. I was like, geez, he
has a personality and he actually says something. It's not
what we're used to, not that we should be totally
surprised because I mean what he does with the media
during the season, I me think we all know that's
not how he is right right in his normal life.
For all he talks to the players, he just doesn't
want to talk to the media and he's never gonna
tell us anything, so he does that act.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
That's right. No, it's a lot of his players talk
about how like low key funny he is, So yeah,
wouldn't that be hilarious? That would be an even bigger trip.
It would be like Bob Saggett, Remember the late great
Bob Saget who went from the Dad on full House
to be in a state end up comic that was
just like, say, had all these like dirty and raunchy

(23:05):
jokes and it was just like whoa the shock value
was there. Imagine if Belichick went from what we know
him as when he's dealing with the media to hosting
a game show and is just charismatic, engaging, funny, we'd
be like, what is happening right now?

Speaker 5 (23:22):
Answer the question twice?

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yeah, I don't think we're gonna see that day though.

Speaker 3 (23:26):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 6 (23:32):
Bally Fusco here with Tony Fusco. Yeah, of course you
know us as the host of the number one rated
Polly and Tony.

Speaker 3 (23:38):
Fusco show world Right now.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
We all know you're sick and tired of these stupid
sports shows where the hosts say stupid things like Tom
Brady's the goat.

Speaker 3 (23:47):
Or Lebron James is good at basketball, which he is
clearly not. See, we give you smart takes.

Speaker 6 (23:53):
Yeah, and we also bring on so called famous guests
from across the sports world and show them why we
know much more than they do off the show. Listen
to The Fally and Tony Fusco Show on the I
Hot Radio app, Apple podcast or wherever you get your podcasts.

Speaker 4 (24:11):
Unfortunately, a couple of very sad stories from sports and
football news. You had former University of Arkansas quarterback Ryan
Mallett passing away at the age of thirty five. He
also played in the NFL with the Patriots, Texans and Ravens.
Thirty five years old, apparently drowned, was coaching high school
football apparently in Arkansas as well. And then this really
awful story from racing where Hall of Fame driver Jimmy

(24:33):
Johnson's in laws apparently a murder suicide. Yeah, and involved
a nephew as well, his wife's parents. I mean, man,
that is just beyond horrific. But yeah, that's awful, Yeah, brutal, man.

Speaker 1 (24:50):
And that's the thing. Details are emerging, but they're what
they gather right now, is that it was his mother
in law that shot the father in law, sh Jimmy
Johnson's nephew, and then killed herself.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (25:05):
I can't even put that into words now, how tragic
that is. But no, I didn't.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
I didn't see the details that it was actually the
mother in law and usually you just assume, right, it's
the the male of the household that would do something
like that.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (25:19):
Yeah, I'd like, I don't even know how to put
that into words or perspective or you know, like, imagine
your loved ones, Imagine if that happened, like your mother
in law, father in law, your nephew. I've got two nephews, Mini,
Matt and Tie. I can't even wrap my mind around
something like that, how tragic it is for the family. So,

(25:40):
I mean, thoughts the prayers of Jimmy Johnson and his family. Man,
that is unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
Yeah. My wife says that to me just as a
phrase like can you imagine? And my answer to something
like that is like, I can't, No, I cannot imagine.

Speaker 1 (25:51):
That's yeah, he was scheduled to race this week and
he won't be Yeah, which makes all the sense in
the world. But wow, I just don't even know how
you put that into That's the thing, man, in life.
I don't want to get to a grim on this, Eddie,
but there are things in life where they're heartbreaking, but

(26:12):
you can at least make sense of them, you know
what I mean. Like if it's a disease that a
loved one has or something, it's horrible, but you can
at least rationalize it. And there are some things you
can't rationalize at all, and I think that makes it
way more painful than those those instances. It's crazy, crazy

(26:32):
stuff right there. But thanks, Eddie, thank you for the
information right there. Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox
is your phone number on Twitter at the no show
is where you can find me. No smooth transition, but
we will go to light in the mood. Our guy,
Sir scratch Off, who is checking in right now, Sir
scratch off. What's going on, Bud? How are things? Hey,

(26:56):
he's good. I just saw him a few days ago.
It was his birthday on the twenty fifth, so it
was on Sunday. I got to see him a couple
of days ago. He's good.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
I was thinking I was saying about Dad because we
had that Facebook together. You know, Hey, let's do it
real fast. I hope you can hear it. Man, I'm
trying this new DVT here for him? Ever had And
is it true your spokes on the heir out one ear?
Because I show can't hear out the second one. I
don't throw that thing out to win it. But anyway,
back years a game man mad it came out to
Pat did and I was graduated. Hey, for that's when

(27:27):
I started watching all this show. You still to buy
stuff on that show compared to just having the money
when you leave. That's how it all started.

Speaker 1 (27:36):
So wait, which show? Is this their scratch off?

Speaker 2 (27:39):
This?

Speaker 5 (27:39):
This well fortunate I had my body had a chance
to go on this show. You gotta tell up this
big long thing. And he was. He was a lot
of college and crafty. He can always solve these things.
Us six kids going up bunch, this crazy show, and
you could buy stuff on that show when you won,
like so much money fall of the game, buy stuff
here in every segment.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
So it was a completely different format than what it
is now.

Speaker 5 (28:04):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir. And the thing too he's talking about,
Uh golly, what's the name Reeves? Austin Reeves. I shared
this story here while back. My niece graduated with him
and seed the ridge in Arkansas. Uh back old fourteen
or fifteen.

Speaker 2 (28:21):
They last on.

Speaker 5 (28:21):
I guess because it was like a very little score
on a spot in the row. He's always been real good.
He never went to attract or nothing. He was paying
with the college. And what the NBA and way Lakers
are talking about. They're trying to match up to one
hundred million dollars. But I haven't heard about the match
any more than that.

Speaker 1 (28:43):
Well, yeah, we'll see. They might have to. I don't
know what kind of uh offer he's gonna get, what
the max offer is going to be, but they seem
to be right now they're gonna match it. Yeah.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
Yeah, I think he's good. I'm gonna say. I mean,
like I've watched him a hell come to Joe and
Brun I had these any eight tournament. I just like
him personality and att to do something like that. But anyway,
what I was gonna tell you that Juanne, I mean,
he's a good player. I don't think kill. I don't
think I was gonna match up to him. It's like
you hear the craft all the time out of Bron

(29:16):
and the Jordan. He's never gonna match the Jordan. But
I like watching to Lebron for years, and he asked
me a question one time, and he won't find me,
saying this, what's your NBA fe I don't have a team.
I was find Lebron.

Speaker 2 (29:28):
I don't. Hey.

Speaker 1 (29:29):
The real question, though, sir scratch Off, is when are
you gonna pay me my cash? Huh? I don't even
remember what bet I won off you. It's been so long.

Speaker 5 (29:37):
I told you I was gonna play your cash. But
you better do me something. You're gonna become the Saint
Louis Mansouri and watch the game. Because matter of fact,
I did hear Jason Bishow they did win to get
the Astros, so being would be happy about that. But
Astro's got beat by the car and we don't tell
by now that's be half. We're gonna tell match, don't
playing baseball.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Okay, that's what I like to hear, sir scratch offf Yeah.

Speaker 5 (30:01):
We're gonna hang out and we're gonna checks.

Speaker 1 (30:05):
Okay, all right, sir scratch.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
I appreciate you.

Speaker 1 (30:07):
Check it in Bud good stuff, all right, you too? Yeah? Yeah,
I like that cards rallying in the second half. They've
been freaking brutal. I'm all for it. I'm all for
actually good baseball from the Cardinals. Let's steak in one more.
Steve is in Manhattan. We'll go quick with Steve. What's
going on? Steve? You're on Fox Sports Radio?

Speaker 2 (30:29):
All right? And it's a really enjoy to be on
Fox Sports Radio because this is only one of two
shows that I can actually call in with my real
name and where I'm from. Every other show they banned
me either the callers who screen calls everyone and doesn't
let me onto all these things.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Why would they do that, Steve? Why why would they
ban you for no good reason? Huh?

Speaker 2 (30:48):
You know what it is. I just think they feel
I don't have a radio voice. That's what I think.

Speaker 1 (30:52):
It is. Like a radio voice. You got a little
bit of edge to you. It's good.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Yeah, No, you have to have that listen. I look
at it this way. Sports radio was entertaining. You guys
do a great job there, even if Ben is not there,
the people feeling they do a great job. The problem
today is what I see is sports radio was big,
but it could be even bigger because a lot of

(31:17):
people distracted by the little things and some of the
stuff they got to do. You guys have to get
out there and put your show out there and let
people know that you're out there and you're going to
bring them in. Sports radio is one of the greatest
entertainment moments. We get the talkout games, sports and everything
like that, and we have a lot of fun doing it.
It's a big deal. I've been banned by a lot

(31:38):
of shows. I couldn't care less because when I do
get on, I do have a lot of fun and
a lot of people in this audience they know my
voice and they've heard me. Maybe I have to call
in with a different name sometimes because all the shows
they don't let me on, but this show and one
other show they do, and I have a lot of
fun doing it.

Speaker 1 (31:52):
Well that's good Man and Steve. I like that because
a lot of people screw up couldn't care less, they say,
And you got it right. You were in the flow
and you went couldn't You're technically right on point with that.
Very nicely done by you.

Speaker 2 (32:07):
Well, I'm an old Bronx boy, and I know a
lot of people. You know what, I noticed a lot
of guys they say they're from the South Bronx. Now
Michael KA does it, a few others they're not from
the South Bronx. The South Bronx is basically anything south
of Yankee Stadium. They want to sound like they're tough
and everything. Yeah, from the South Bronx. I knew where
Michael K grew up because I didn't grow up too

(32:28):
far from He's a little bit older than me. But
and uh, to leave your wind is open, the door
is open, and nobody's gonna bother you in those days,
but even in the Bronx. But they want to feel
like they're tough, now.

Speaker 1 (32:39):
Ak Steve, Is that is that worse than saying I
grew up on the South side of Chicago and you didn't.
Is it worse to say that I was on the
south side of the Bronx. Is that worse than the
South side of Chicago?

Speaker 2 (32:51):
Well, Willsa also sprinkling Detroit. A lot of people say
they're from d I've met people from.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Detroit, but they're from the burbs and they're saying Detroit
but from the suburbs.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
Steve, Yes, they are say that. Then one time I
actally dude he was he said, it's Detroit. He was
on the outskirts of it. I believe it's Wayne County
that they're roll in it, but they're outside of it.
I said, you know how much is that? You could
buy a house in Detroit for a buck? Right, but
the city ordinance says you have to bring it up
the cold, either redo it or take it down to

(33:22):
a lot. So so you know what I said, I'll
invest a buck, I'll take it down to a lot.
I'll put a double fence around it, and I'll put
a lion in there. Is like the you know, there's
the watchtorf. But I know the guy told me, he goes,
they'll steal the lion, he said, But they do say
that I'm from Detroit every thing. Those other guys say
that from the Southron. Ironically, I was born in this
outbron So I guess I spent maybe a couple of

(33:44):
days living there. But then I went back up to
the northeastern part of the Bronx. But every part of
the Bronx could be rough. Don't have anybody.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
Hey, I hear you, Steve. I got you on that.
But I good to talk with you here, Steve, Steve
from Manhattan. Not I should have asked him that South Manhattan,
North Manhattan. I don't know South Bronx. I learned something.
I like that he shared that with us. All right,
good stuff, all right, coming up next you. I'm guessing

(34:13):
you might not like my choice for the most underrated
team in the NFL. Well, compare notes right around the corner.

manning the phones. He is also the liar, liar and
the menace of the Fox. It's radiowork. It's thee Coop

(35:01):
de Loop Justin Cooper and he's at u h Bronco
fan like, yes, yeah, I have some corn impressions from
time to time, and I'll live from the Tyrock dot
Com Fox Sports Radio studios. And for Ben Maller, it's
Brian though.

Speaker 1 (35:21):
That's hilarious. Thank you, Eddie. I always sam that was
me and Coop doing that? Is that true? That's on
freak on the least too. I'll demonstrate for you. I
don't care that the ones where he's like, yes, yeah,
very nicely done. By the way, Coop, you would love this.

(35:43):
I'll get to the most underrated NFL team at some point. Okay,
I just have to do this while we're on this.
I had no idea IOWA was gonna go with that.
But I was filling in for a station in Milwaukee
this past week, and uh, it was a lot of fun.
Steve it's his show, he does the show in Milwaukee now,
former Fox Sports radio host, and so I was filling

(36:06):
in for Zabe and there's this guy, the producer is
Josh Albrecht. Okay, so what we do, coop? They have
it where you have your banger. Okay, so you're like,
this song is a banger. I went with Ruin from
Lamb of God. Some disagreed, but whatever and and any
of it. Josh went with, uh, the corn song that

(36:26):
you were talking about right there, freaking a leash And
so I just I just said a fun fact because
they like they do it where it's like, oh, this
song was made at such and such, there are so
many beats per minute. You given fun facts here, see
if you like the direction. I went with my fun
fact on that song. Here you go, let me make
sure I got the right thing. No, I was gonna

(36:48):
play the wrong one. Oh shoot, I gotta find the
right audio. For good Lord, I gave you all the
shut up and then zero payoff. Right, I'm sorry, We're sorry.
Horrible job on my behalf. I don't even know where
this is, good Lord, I don't even know, but yeah,

(37:10):
I just I've made something up. I made something up
that was untrue and I got a kick out of it.
You ever just make something up and see if someone
falls for it and then say that's not true. That's
not it at all. That's basically what I did. I'll
find the audio for you somewhere, but would have worked

(37:32):
way better if I had it now.

Speaker 6 (37:34):
So I was sorry.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Yeah, sorry about that. My bad, bad. This is what
you get with fill and hosts. Big Ben would never
make a mistake like this. He would have the audio
rare to go. Yeah, he would be ready to go. Okay,
so we got a lot to look forward to. Next hour.
I will find the mystery audio, and when it is
way delayed, it will be a horrible payoff. I'm just

(37:57):
gonna be straight with you. We got to get to
if this is the MVP of the sports world right now,
forget about his actual sport. Is this the MVP of
the sports world. I'll also get you the most underrated
NFL team as well, a lot to go in the
third hour that is on the way.
