Speaker 1 (00:00):
How does this guy still have a job. We'll get
to that here momentarily.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
We're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot com studios.
Tire iraq dot com will help get you there an
unatt selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection, and
over ten thousand recommended installers. Tire rack dot com The
way tire buying should be Eddie Garcia, it feels like
it's been forever that we've hosted a show together. I'm
(00:26):
glad to be back with you. Everything good in your world.
You're getting ready for the NFL season here.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yeah, it'll get here when it gets here. I'm not
it's common. I don't have to, you know, act like
it's you know, a kid before Christmas time. It'll be
here when it be when it's here. My wife is
the one who's like count the days.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
Really, and you're just like, eh, you know, yeah, it's
kind of a little bit here.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Yeah, that's I'm fine. When it happens, it'll be it'll
be great. But I'm not, you know, not, don't big
hurry whatever.
Speaker 1 (00:54):
Okay, have you been into the Olympics at all?
Speaker 4 (00:56):
Here?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
I have been because of the job, but I I
haven't really watched much of it other than what I see,
you know, here in studio during my shift, which is
a bunch of replays, and I'm sleeping, you know, kind
of I think when it's really getting going there.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
So yeah, it's not an ideal shift for the live action. Yeah,
like you you're sleeping schedule is probably like the opposite.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
But I'm okay with it. I'm you know, I've gotten
in my older age, I've kind of been okay with
consuming things that I'm kind of interested in in, you know,
highlight form, you know what I mean. I mean football,
you know, I'm a big hockey guy. Those things I'm
gonna watch live because I really here into those. But
(01:42):
all the other stuff I could watch it you just
go to the old YouTube watch some highlights. I'm a
right with that.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Yeah, No, this is nothing wrong with that. I don't
find that to be a problem whatsoever. But there's a
new story here that caught my attention today, Eddie Garcia.
This is from ESPN. It's a story from Tim McManus
and Jeremy Fowler, and it's entitled Inside the Disconnect between
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni and quarterback Jalen Hurts and it's like, oh, what's.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Going on over now?
Speaker 2 (02:15):
They talked to many, you know, sources with knowledge how
that always goes, and they talked about a fractured and
unhealthy relationship last season, and there are many theories as
to why that started. And at the root of the divide,
according to the story, a disconnect and offensive visions is
(02:40):
what a team source described as a lack of full
respect for Sirianni's ex'es and O's chops.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
So we've got a divide, Eddie. This is not good.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
We've got a divide between the head coach and the quarterback.
And they both talked about it on Wednesday at training camp.
First off, here's the head coach of the Eagles, Nick Sirianni,
on his uh, what would you say, fractured relationship, trying
to repair things here.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Sirianni.
Speaker 5 (03:06):
The only way to get better is to really look
through the things that you felt like you messed up
and get better at him. Right, But it starts with
the humility to say I mess this up.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
Jane and I are in a really good place.
Speaker 5 (03:21):
Every relationship that you have needs work with everybody, and.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
We've always continued to try to work at that.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Okay, So the first part of it is admitting there's
a problem to begin with, right, Eddie, And it sounds
like Sirianni did as much where he's like, yeah, we
were kind of, you know, butting heads over here. And
my question is this, before we go any further and
hear from Jalen Hurts, why is Nick Sirianni still the
head coach, Eddie?
Speaker 1 (03:47):
That's my question.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
They kicked the tires on the idea of hiring Bill Belichick.
Why do you bring Sirianni back? If you look at
the resume here, if you look at the bullet points,
if you will. The Eagles got off to a flying
start last season ten to one. We're thinking, oh man,
look out. They lost six of seven games. They got
punked by Tampa Bay in the wild card round, they
(04:09):
got blown out, and Sirianni's back in spite of having
a fractured relationship with the quarterback. Jalen Herds, what are
they doing? Why don't you go with the goat? Why
not go all in and get Bill Belichick in there
instead of running it back with Sirianni when the team
is tail spinning and he's butting heads with the QB
(04:31):
I know it's not perfect all across the board, and
Belichick once personnel controlling it.
Speaker 1 (04:36):
There's stuff to work out.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
I'd rather have Belichick for a couple of seasons than
moving on with Nick Sirianni.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Here, okay, but didn't they go to the super Bowl
the year before with Nick Sirianni.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
Hey, stuff changes fast here in the NFL, Eddie.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Uh huh okay, I mean, wow, all right, what have
you done for me lately? I guess I'm not saying
this guy's the greatest coach in the world, but I
mean he gets no credit for the team taking the
team to the super Bowl the year before. We're not
five years ago, a year before?
Speaker 1 (05:05):
Hey, hey, stuff it changes.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Last Belichick won a super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
Oh, it's benefit. But if you give Bill Belichick. Okay,
let's do this. Let's play a little game. I want
to play a game. You ever see the.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
Saw movies, Eddie, No, I hate those movies.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
I've only seen like the first one, maybe bits and
pieces of other ones. But there's a I'm sure you've
seen the I want to play a game. I'm sure
you saw those commercials. Let's play a little game over here.
Let's put Bill Belichick in charge of the Eagles roster
and all that talent over there.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
And let's put Nick Sirianni with I.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
Don't know the Patriots and they're bear copboards without great
impact players or great depth. You think Nick Siriannis putting
up double digit win seasons, you think Belichick.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Isn't with how did that in New England?
Speaker 1 (05:54):
That's it? Well, that's the problem.
Speaker 2 (05:55):
Any you mentioned that Belichick the GM Belichick is Belichick
the head coach's biggest enemy right there.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I'm not going to sell you on going.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
To take over the Eagles not being in charge of everything.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
He's got Howie Roseman over there. Howie Roseman is the man.
He's the guy. We got him in place. You know, Sorry, Belichick.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Maybe Bill doesn't want that situation, but he wants to
go to a team where he'd be in charge of everything.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
He'd be a moron. Not He's got maybe two three
years left.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Why not let Roseman do what he does and take
a look in the mirror and know that you're not
the be all end all with personnel evaluation. You know,
come on, Bill Belichick, I think you could sell him
on that.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
I really do.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
Well, look, I'm kind of disagreeing with you just to
kind of disagree with you. But I mean, look, if
I still think though that we're a little too reactionary
in sports these days when it comes to quarterbacks, when
it comes to coaches, I understand them wanting to give
this guy another shot. Although when you blow out all
the assistant coaches and you just keep him, I mean,
(07:01):
they must really like him. I guess to give him
another shot. But I don't know. I don't know if
Belichick comes in and waves the magic wand and I
need to see it. I look, when the Brady Belichick
split happened, I was on team Belichick and then the
Patriots did nothing and Brady won a Super Bowl. So
I was wrong. I was totally wrong on that. So
I need to see Belichick get another shot and do
(07:23):
something with another team before I believe that it was
all about him in New England and not more about Brady.
So we'll see.
Speaker 2 (07:29):
Well, I listen, I think it was more about Brady
the success the Patriots had.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Then, and Jalen Hurts is not Tom Brady.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
No he's not.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
But Belichick he was huge in that whole reign as well.
Like we're talking if we're doing like a percentage chart.
It's like a sixty forty thing, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
It's not I mean, I want to believe, I want
to agree to, but there's a part of me that's like,
I gotta see it. Brady did it without Belichick. I
gotta see Belichick do it without Brady.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Well, if you look at those first three Super Bowls,
a couple of those games they're grinders. You know.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
It's not like the.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Patriots were prolific and putting up huge points. They won
a lot of those games by the strength of their defense.
If you look at the game against the Rams, that's
thirteen to three, you know.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
What I mean.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Like, Belichick's fingerprints are all over that defensive game plan.
So he's got the coaching chops. Nobody disputes that. And
if you gave him a talented roster like the Eagles.
That's the thing, Eddie. I think this boils down to
sometimes safe is an illusion. I think the Eagles are like, well,
it's sort of the safer thing to do. We're familiar
(08:36):
with Sirianni. Yeah, he's got some stuff to work out
with Hertz, but we've been successful before. Like you just said,
we've gone to a super Bowl. You know, let's run
it back with Siriana. That probably feels safer than doing
something drastic like bringing in Belichick.
Speaker 1 (08:52):
I still think that would have been the better move.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
I mean, look at you might not like this comparison,
but look at the Jets. Look at the Jat's bringing
in Aaron Rodgers. I mean, do you have to make
some concessions for him?
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Yeah? Do you have to change a lot of what
you do.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
To because that's really the example you want to use. No, really,
but because it didn't really work out well.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
I mean he got hurt after four plays, I understand,
but I like I like Aaron Rodgers with that defense man.
If he's healthy, I think he can do some things.
But you understand what I'm saying, right, Like, you have
to change your culture. You have to change a bunch
of stuff to accommodate Aaron Rodgers. That's a mammoth change.
But his credentials, he brings a lot to the table.
(09:36):
And I think they're better off for doing that and
taking a big swing. I think the Eagles would be
better off taking a big swing instead of running it
back with Sirianni. It's like Kyle Shanahan said, Kyle Shanahan
of the forty nine ers tried to hire Belichick for
any role within the forty nine ers, right like, you
want to be the decordinator, you want to do it,
(09:56):
the door's open. And when he was explaining that, he's
I can't believe that Belichick is not a head coach
of a team. Right now, I know what I would
do if I was an owner, And Shanahan's right, I
don't know why these teams, the Eagles, the Cowboys, who's
run it back with Mike McCarthy. Why get them the
hell out of there? Get Belichick in there. What are
you doing? But these teams are just like, it's too
(10:20):
big of a risk. Lame, lame is what I say,
Eddie Garcia. I think you take big swings and get
big results.
Speaker 3 (10:28):
I'm fine with that. I mean, I'm not going to
disagree with you. I'm just saying, and I'm not going
to assume that Bill Belichick is just going to come
in there and everything's going to be great, and it
could be probably be better than Nick Sirian. I'll agree
with that, but I still want to see it. I'm
not quite the Belichick believer I used to.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Be who I think.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
I don't know if you think this, but most people
think he'll be back as a head coach next season.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
What would you say? What's your best guess?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
And I know this is a very difficult question, but
what's your best guess? Just throw a dart at the dartboard.
Which team Belichick will be coaching in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
I think Bill is a type of guy that would
like to actually get back at the Patriots. So let's
say Buffalo.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Buffalo, Okay, I don't hate it. I don't hate that
prediction because he's also he's kind.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Of an Eastern East guy, right, He's he wants to
coach somewhere on the East, like when they are. There's
some rumors about him coming to the Chargers. I like,
that just doesn't seem right. I can't see him on
a West Coast guy. He's gonna stay somewhere in the
East where it's cold and he could wear his hootie.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Right, it's just miserable. It's raining sideways. You know, he's
got the scowl. I hear you. And that's the thing.
Sean McDermott.
Speaker 2 (11:45):
You could say the same thing about the Bills and McDermott.
Why don't you swing for the fences and do something big,
like try to get Belichick in there, and we're gonna
run it back with McDermott and we have a hard
time getting past the divisional round.
Speaker 1 (11:58):
You know, you might be right.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
Another step back from the Bills, they might be looking
for a head coach. I don't hate that prediction at all, Eddie.
How about how about your Steelers Mike Tomlin goes sub
five hundred, get Bellichick in.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
Yeah, there, they'll give Tomlin at least hit one losing
season before they make a change.
Speaker 2 (12:16):
That'd be crazy. But if they got rid of him.
But we got your Steelers on the rundown here. We've
got a lot to get to over here, with the
QB situation, the brandon I Yuke rumors. You want some
Brandon I Yuke action in your life?
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Oh yes, I do.

Speaker 1 (14:16):
Is that on your list?
Speaker 3 (14:17):
Eddie?
Speaker 6 (14:17):
Come on?
Speaker 1 (14:17):
How do you not dance around at this thing?
Speaker 6 (14:20):
No?
Speaker 3 (14:20):
I'm nuts, not on my Are you kidding me?
Speaker 2 (14:23):
Eddie?
Speaker 1 (14:23):
My goodness, I bet you dance to this when no
one's watching me.
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Yes, I don't dance to look at me? Do I
look like a dancer? You're a dancer. We saw that
at the meet and greet.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
How was the meet and greet?
Speaker 2 (14:39):
Eddie?
Speaker 3 (14:40):
It was great. We had a really good turnout.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
That's great. Saw a couple of pictures of that thing.
Looked like a good time. Glad you guys had fun
meeting the militia. How many times have you bumped into
some of the same members at these meet and greets?
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Like?
Speaker 1 (14:55):
Do you have like some mainstays at these things?
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Eddie?
Speaker 3 (14:59):
Uh? Yeah, A few there were. We see, mister Luciano
is a guy who he was at the l A one,
and he was at the Vegas one. Ben Ben obviously
has bumped into a few more of these people because
he's he's done a few of these without us, Like
he was in Minnesota and he was in South Carolina
(15:19):
and he got to meet some folks there that obviously
we weren't around for. But yeah, there's there's a couple that, well,
we'll show up at multiple events.
Speaker 2 (15:27):
Who's a member of the militia that you have not
met in person? That would be at the top of
the list, Like I would like to meet this person
one day.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Oh, that's a good question. That's any one for me?
Is yours? Jed? Jed? I might go Marcel, Yeah, I
might go Marcel.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
Marcel's gotta be.
Speaker 3 (15:50):
I wanted to take Marcel like out, you know, to
eat something that because he only eats is uh noodles
of noodles for the most part, or something like that.
You a Michelin star restaurant I want to take Yeah,
I want to take it to someplace where he just
blows his mind. I'm sorry, but people who have very
simple taste buds like that are not usually impressed when
they have something fancy. So I don't know if I'd
(16:11):
waste my money on that. To be honest, I'd do
it anyway, And if he didn't like it, then that's fine.
At least he had the opportunity to try something different.
But you're probably right, Larreta. He seems like a young
man who likes what he likes and doesn't want to
try anything to up. I have no doubt you're right
about that.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
What if you just did that, Eddie, you know, play
to the strengths, Just go out and have the chicken
strips with ketchup.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
I mean, you know, if that's what wakes them happy,
I suppose.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
So, yeah, I think that would be a good time.
Marcel's a great dude. That's a good uh. That's a
good one by you, Eddie.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
You know. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
We're in the middle of true.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
In the middle of training camp here in the NFL,
and I caught this story and one of the quotes
was funny. So dk Metcalf, Seahawks wide receiver. He swung
his helmet at his teammate on Wednesday, Eddie, he swung
it at cornerback Trey Brown. You know, these things get heated.
They've been going at each other for the bettermard who.
Speaker 3 (17:12):
I swung a few things at Ben in the studio
a couple of times, so I get it. Yeah have you?
Oh yeah, of course?
Speaker 1 (17:17):
What have you thrown at Ben?
Speaker 3 (17:19):
Fire extinguisher?
Speaker 1 (17:19):
You know, something like that, right, whatever's handy, you know
TV what?
Speaker 3 (17:25):
Actually, No, that's never happened. I'd probably get fired if
that happened. A matter of fact, I.
Speaker 1 (17:30):
Don't think so.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
I don't think the suits would know about I think
that's the question here though.
Speaker 1 (17:35):
We'll get back to DK.
Speaker 2 (17:36):
But if you threw something at Ben, I don't think
Ben's the type to just rat you out, is he.
I don't think the suits would even know about it.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
I would say no. But I also have worked here
long enough that I saw a fight and that person
did get fired. So really, yeah, I don't know how
it got out because uh one of the one of
the other co hosts came in and said, hey, this
is just between us, right, and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
I didn't see anything, but yeah, somebody said something.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
Can you give any details about this? Who was throwing blows?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
No? But I will say that the person who got
let go went straight up. His career has gone off
since then. He was slumming it in radio. Now he's
a big TV guy.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Wow, you're gonna have to text me on that one.
I want to know.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I want to know what's going on with that. It's
funny because you know when you're in radio. I was
in the Portland area, and you're around these people all
the time and you become friends, and so sometimes you
talk to your co workers who might be managers as
friends and you find out, oh, they're more like managers
(18:50):
than friends.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
So I found that out with my very first radio job.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Brian, Yeah, what happened?
Speaker 3 (18:57):
I got fired?
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Oh no, what's the story with it?
Speaker 3 (19:02):
I did, It wasn't. I was speaking ill of the
boss who was a complete assht uh, And I didn't
know that the person I was speaking about him with
was tight with him, and he he rated me out
and I gotta let go. But that guy ended up
going to jail. Sorry, that's fine. Stole money from the
(19:24):
company and so he went to jail. So that's fine.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
You said that was your first radio gig Eddie.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
Yeah, yeah, I did learn a valuable lesson. If you're
going to talk ask about someone make sure you know
you can trust the people that you're talking to you
about it. What a dumb thing to do that you
weren't done anything like this.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
So Mom and Dan were here.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
It happened in Portland for me where I was late.
I was late getting into work, and so it's what
they did. I was hired by the TV company that's
no longer in existence, NBC Sports Northwest. So it was
just a radio show that they put on TV, right,
and so I was late to this and the normal
(20:06):
producer wasn't there, so there was a fill in producer.
Got along great with this guy. We were friends. And
I got in there and I'm like, we were just
off the air. I'm like, why didn't you go on
for like five minutes until I got here? And he's like,
that's not my job. And you know me, You've known
me over the years where I can get spirited and
(20:28):
I can be a maniac and stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (20:31):
And I was all upset that I was late. We're
not on the air.
Speaker 2 (20:35):
Why didn't this guy just go on the air for
a second. And I just told him to f off.
The next thing I know, there are managers calling me
like you can't tell that guy that and I'm like,
how do you even know about that?
Speaker 1 (20:51):
He said? He told, what are you doing? You're ratting?
What terrible Eddie got up? Right?
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Yeah, deep within the group there, I would say.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
You hash it out between yourselves. You don't let the
suits in on this. Pansy move, Eddie pansy. Anyway back
to DK metcalf so DK swung his helmet at cornerback
Trey Brown. Okay, now this is the head coach of
the Seahawks. Mike McDonald's I love this. He did an
interview with NFL Network on Wednesday after this little fight,
(21:25):
and there are many fights. There were like five fights
that broke out in Seahawks training camp on Wednesday alone,
and Mike McDonald said, we've been getting after it. I'm
proud of how we responded today. I don't know what
the numbers are, but we've been out here, I don't
know fourteen of the past sixteen days. I think we're
tired of going against one another. But the guys are spirited.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
I like that.
Speaker 2 (21:48):
There's a nice way to just kind of push aside
all the fights. Five fights break out, Yeah, guys are
a little spirited.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
You know, you'll have I don't know.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
They I've ever heard of five fights break out in
one practice. It's a it's a new standard, I guess.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
It's interesting how different teams handled this stuff. Where remember
Tony Dungee with the Colts, he would not tolerate training
camp fights as nightmare.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Back at the olden days when we didn't have social media. Brian,
I'm sure there were. I'm sure there were some reader
practices where you had five fights. Nobody knew about.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
It, but probably in the modern era, five is a lot.
It does seem to be a lot. But man, some
other teams they don't crack down as much, right, or
it's not as big of a deal. But I remember
how old that's true. Dungee was like, you can't do
it in the game. We're not going to do this
in training camp, right, Like just establish what you're going
(22:47):
to do in games.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
It's different from camp to camp.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
I feel powerless, right if you're the rookie head coach,
first year head coach like McDonald and you're.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
Like, hey, guys, cut it out, no more five It just.
Speaker 2 (22:59):
Continued rolling blows and everything. It's uh, you know, you
got to work the workout all those details. You know,
establish yourself.
Speaker 6 (23:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
Moving over to college football and the NCAA handing down,
Michigan had coach Jim Harbaugh a four year show caused
penalty for recruiting violations during the COVID dead period and
also unethical conduct. This is not related to the signs
dealing controversy. So but Jim Harbor coaches in the NFL,
(23:32):
So okay.
Speaker 2 (23:35):
Yeah, they cracked down and he's not coaching in college football.
Speaker 3 (23:41):
Which he wasn't probably going to do anyway.
Speaker 1 (23:43):
Yeah. So wow, it's quite the penalty right there.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Right, probably not going to be in college football until
twenty twenty eight, which he probably wasn't going to be
in college football until twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
If ever, if ever.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah, right exactly.
Speaker 2 (23:57):
Oh and the the audio, Eddie, this is some of
the best audio I've ever heard in my life.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Oh, this is strong.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
It was Harbaugh. Oh now this is the signs stealing stuff.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Right.
Speaker 3 (24:11):
This is not great audio. This is a typical. This
is exactly what you thought it would be good.
Speaker 1 (24:17):
So good.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
It's because he he winds you up into thinking, Hey,
is Harbaugh actually gonna own this and apologize.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
The way he sets this up.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
For a second, I'm thinking, whoa, what what's JH about
to do? I don't really call him that, Eddie, but
what's Harbaugh gonna do?
Speaker 1 (24:38):
Over?
Speaker 2 (24:38):
And then he's just like, I do not apologize. This
is now you're talking about like recruiting violations from the
COVID thing, and he wasn't allowed to do that, and
he was a jackass and didn't admit that he was
doing something wrong and basically just gave the heisman pose
to the NC double A and they came back and
(24:59):
they're like, all right, well, this is the best we
can do. It's a show cause mentalty for four years.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
Yeah, to get it.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
But this got me thinking about Harbaugh with the sign
stealing allegations, and this is what he had to say, Eddie,
I dispute it. I think it's top shelf audio.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
Check it out.
Speaker 4 (25:14):
Never lie, never cheat, never steal. I was raised with
that lesson. I have raised my family on that lesson.
I have preached that lesson to the teams that I've coached.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
No one's perfect.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
If you stumble, you apologize, and you make it right today.
Speaker 3 (25:34):
I do not apologize. I did not participate.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
I was not aware nor complicit in those set allegations.
So for me, it's back to work and attacking with
an enthusiasm unknown to mankind.
Speaker 2 (25:48):
Oh my gosh, Eddie. Like, here's the thing, man, why
I think this is so good. He's lying through his teeth,
saying a.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Coach, yes, lying, I've never heard that before.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
That's right, that's but but he set it up. He
set it up like, never lie, never steal.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
These are core principles I have lived my life by.
I have im part of this wisdom upon my players
in each and every stole.
Speaker 1 (26:21):
Like he's wagging his finger.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
And he's like, I do not apologize today, and he's
lying about not knowing.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Oh it's so rich, Eddie. It is absolutely rich. Where
a coach can look at.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
Coach just lie all the time. It's not to me,
it's not a big deal. It's not it's not spectacular
audio because we've heard this before.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
But they don't sit here and act like this is
a core principle of mind. Do not lie while they're
telling boldfaced lies.
Speaker 3 (26:53):
I'll give hilarious. I'll give credit to LeVar Harrington. He
he said on the Two Pros and a Cup of
Joe show that that's that sounded a lot like a
former president of our zoo said he did not have
sexual relations with that woman. Uh huh, Yeah, it was
a little bit like that, kind of the same kind
of cadence to it.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
Yeah, I could, I could follow him on.
Speaker 2 (27:15):
I did not have sexual relations for that woman, miss Lewinsky.
Speaker 3 (27:21):
I never told anybody to lie, not a single time. Never. Yeah,
we just need to Lorana just had that ready to go.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
I have my president quote wall I guess so, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (27:34):
I saw someone get on Lorena for a lack of
drops and she's like, oh really, and she's she's ready
to go Eddie like this is a couple of weeks ago. Yeah,
see that, she's I got.
Speaker 1 (27:51):
I got a goat drop right here.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Bro, don't play with me.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
I think you just name things and she'd have it already, like, uh,
a whale, you know, whale sound effects. Maybe not a whale, okay,
but most other things ready to go. You're not impressed
by the harbor bold face lies. This is the thing
that here's the thing. No one believes him, and he's
(28:16):
still doubling tripling. There you go, quadrupling down on I
didn't know anything.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
It's like, dude, really, like.
Speaker 3 (28:26):
We have to Brian. The SoundBite that it would be
an amazing sound is if he admitted he did something wrong,
that would be an amazing sound bite. Because the coaches
all they do is lie. They lie every week. It's
like that's what they do. I get like a politician
your career, career like surprise when a politician lies.
Speaker 2 (28:44):
No, no, But you're not looking at it like you're
in Eddie Garcia like coaches lie and you can't get
out of that space. What I'm suggesting is take a
step back from the space for a second and just
look at this where it's not even a believable lie.
It's not even halfway believable and.
Speaker 3 (29:06):
Believable lies that the coaches saying when every time they're
asked about a job, it's just they look right in
the cameraon lie. Nick Saban looks at the cameraon lies
when he was with your Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I mean, but at least that was a believable that
absolutely at the time, that was a believable lie.
Speaker 8 (29:23):
At the time, You're like, you might stay with the
NFL squad right there. You might stick with the Dolphins
that at the time, you're like, maybe, But Jim Harbough
I didn't know anything. I had no idea there was
this staffer, Connor Stallion's stealing signs and we were using
it to our benefit.
Speaker 1 (29:45):
Never knew that was the thing.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Really, really, come on, it's not even close to believable.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
That's what's what blows my mind. I get that coaches lie.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
I totally understand that, but they normally lie at times
where there's at least a chance they're telling the truth.
There is zero chance Harbaugh is telling the truth on
the sign stealing thing. That's why it's wild to me.
Not wild to you, though.
Speaker 3 (30:11):
Huh, not at all.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
Not.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
I tried.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I did my best, But yeah, it's for him to
dip into These are core principles that I was taught
by my family that I have lived my life by it.
Speaker 1 (30:26):
It's like, oh my gosh, dude, you're applying that while
you're lying. Wow, there is no.
Speaker 2 (30:32):
Shame for Jim Harbaugh Right there, We're gonna get to
a minor annoyance and something that I think is kind
of oddly cool. We got to get to this too. Eddie,
someone called you out on Twitter. They called you a liar.
You know, so we're gonna pay that off. Then called
a liar on Twitter, and there's a documented proof. I
do believe that is on the way too. We got
(30:53):
a lot to pay off. Here. He's Eddie Garcia, I'm
Brian No. We're in for Big Ben Maller here on

Speaker 2 (32:40):
No. Okay, Eddie, you've been I think playfully called out
on Twitter from Ferd Dog said I call Eddieg all
the time.
Speaker 1 (32:49):
He's a liar. Is there any truth to that?
Speaker 3 (32:53):
Well, I've never I don't think I've ever actually spoken
to him before, so maybe he does it on If
he does it on social media, I don't recall him
doing that. But for dog for dog, for dog for dog,
whatever it is. Uh, he lies all the time. He's
a Ben Mallard boot liquor, so's whatever. I'm not even
joking about that, it's true.
Speaker 1 (33:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
I do like this from arts. He just wrote in
easy g is Eddie's gangster rapper. Name is what Art said?
What do you think about that?
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Over me? I like that? Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Get some mileage out of that. We got the Olympics
going on live right now. We got yeah, yeah, how
how long is this race?
Speaker 1 (33:40):
What are we swimming here?
Speaker 3 (33:41):
I don't know. It's wearing lap four of six, it
says I where they're swimming off as close to the heye.
Speaker 1 (33:48):
There, yeah, man, this is I wrote it down. Let
me see.
Speaker 2 (33:53):
It's the ten k We're going ten kilometers in the
open water here, and they are right by the edge,
right by the crowd too, crowds right on top of them.
Speaker 1 (34:06):
I didn't know they'd be swimming laps.
Speaker 2 (34:09):
I guess it makes sense, right, I just figured they'd
just swim long enough to get to ten k right
without laps.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
I have no idea what's going on. Couldn't they just
do this in the pool and go like one hundred
times back and forth and it would be nice, nice
and clean water instead of the poopy water.
Speaker 2 (34:28):
Yeah, probably be a lot of turns, but it could
be done.
Speaker 3 (34:33):
You know.
Speaker 2 (34:35):
I wonder if there was any of the competitors that
was just like, yeah, I'm good on this.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
I'm not doing this right.
Speaker 3 (34:42):
I don't think so. I think we would have heard
about it if they would have said I'm not doing that.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Yeah, you might be right about that.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
I saw something that was kind of lame and something
that is halfway cool, Eddie. Both in college football, mainly
so you know Oregon is in the Big Ten because
Oregon reminds us that they're in the Big Ten with
either a new video or a new picture of the
duck seemingly every day. The newest one the duck was
(35:10):
in front of Michigan Stadium and it was just like
let me in and there was a gate there and
it's like, we get it, Oregon, You're in the Big
ten right now?
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Am I getting too old, Eddie?
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Or is this one of these deals where it's just like, Okay,
we get it. You know, we don't need a reminder
every day now that you're in the Big Ten. Is
it going to be in front of Rutgers the next day?
Let me hit, I'm the duck. I'man we get it.
You're in the Big Ten? Am I getting grouchy in
my older age here?
Speaker 3 (35:35):
Ready? H Maybe maybe it happens to all of us, though,
I think first.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Sign of it, the duck is wearing me out.
Speaker 3 (35:42):
I mean, Rutgers. Who would know if he was in
front of Rutgers, you know. But the Big House, the Horseshoe,
which really isn't the Horseshoe anymore? Those places, I'm okay
with that, I get it.
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Why is it not the Horseshoe anymore?
Speaker 3 (35:54):
It's close now? Yeah, because uh you ever been there?
Speaker 1 (35:58):
You're I know, you know what's crazy at it?
Speaker 2 (36:01):
I haven't been to many college football stadiums, mainly because
of my work schedule, you know, Like there have been
a lot of weekends, right yeah, Like I would work
like Saturday evening for a while, and it's just like
you're not going to get to any game pretty unless
it's at the crack of dawn. So I have been
to many How many college football stadiums have you gone to?
Speaker 3 (36:23):
I haven't really sat down and you know, let's checklist together,
but been.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
To Fresno for sure, right, well, I mean, obviously what
else is on the list.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
What's on the list of where I've gone? Yeah, I've
been to Husky Stadium in Washington, beautiful, beautiful place. I've
been to Austin Stadium in Oregon, another beautiful stadium. I
have been to Folsome Field in Colorado. I've been to
Sun Devil Stadium in Arizona. Obviously West kind of wet,
very much West coast here. I did go to oh gosh,
(36:57):
I think I forgot the name of it, the North
Carolina Stadium.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Oh wow.
Speaker 3 (37:02):
Yeah, that was a work thing that we did, which
is cool. I went to the Liberty Bowl for a
bowl game. Went to what was it called Sam Boyd
Stadium in Nevada for the for the bowl game there.
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Oh wow, okay, San Jose was that for Fresno State?
Speaker 3 (37:21):
Yes, okay, yeah, the Las Vegas Bowl. I assume that's
still around.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
Uh into a handful?
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Yeah, yeah, if you I mean, I'd love to go
to some of the iconic ones though. I mean, I
don't know if maybe LaVar will hook me up at
go to a Penn State game. That would be amazing.
Speaker 1 (37:39):
I saw I've never been to an LSU game.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Oh that would be a good one. Yeah, Death Valley.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Yeah, Like my girl and I we lived in North Carolina, sorry,
I in New Orleans for a couple of months, and
we just stopped by LSU and we saw Mike the
Tiger right, Like, Mike the Tiger's got his little living
area right across from the stadium.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
It's actually really cool.
Speaker 2 (38:01):
But I then we went to Alabama randomly to I've
never been to an Alabama game. Love to go there.
But we were on the campus. We're just I don't
know why. We were driving around in the area and
we're like, let's check it out.
Speaker 3 (38:12):
Yeah. I had a big opportunity to go to the
Big House this coming season. Fresno State's opening up at
Michigan and that would have been a perfect chance to go,
but just didn't work out. So but you've been there.
Speaker 1 (38:23):
I made it there one time.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, what would thoughts on the it's cool?
Speaker 1 (38:28):
What's weird about the Big House? And now?
Speaker 2 (38:30):
Love this is a notre Dame fan, Eddy, So make
sure you understand my comments might be a little bit biased,
but as unbiased as I can say. What's weird about
the Big House It goes into the ground.
Speaker 1 (38:44):
So when you are outside.
Speaker 2 (38:46):
Of you're thinking it's over one hundred thousand, you know,
seat stadium, this is going to be mammoth, and you
walk outside and it looks like it holds maybe thirty
thousand people because it goes into the ground. It's really
weird from the outside. But it's a great atmosphere. You know,
it's college football. It's it's one of the greater atmospheres.
I think it's one of those where you gotta go.
(39:08):
You gotta go and see a game there, uh at
Notre Dame Stadium. Not the greatest atmosphere, but another one
of you're seeing movies with that stuff.
Speaker 1 (39:16):
You gotta go.
Speaker 2 (39:17):
You gotta make it there, all right, come it up next,
The Battle for QB one
