Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Battle for QB one takes an interesting turn.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
That's on the way.

Speaker 1 (00:04):
We're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios.

way tire buying should be. I'll get to the Battle
for QB one in just a minute here, Eddie, I'm
fascinated by this ten k race in the number two water.

(00:29):
I didn't realize this where they drink during the race, Eddie,
like they're swimming. I didn't think they'd be drinking during this.
They just showed it.

Speaker 3 (00:40):
I saw that as well, and I exactly the same
as you. I didn't realize that they would somehow get
a bottle of liquid and drink it while they were swimming.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, but man, in the poopy water, that's that's a
bold move right there where they showed one of the girls.
So she grabs just like the water bottle or whatever
it might have been, gatorade or whatever in there, and
she just kind of does the backstroke and drinks from
this and then just throws what she doesn't drink back
in the river and they pick it up and on

(01:10):
with the race. I never realized they drank during a
ten k swim.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Had no idea.

Speaker 3 (01:17):
I mean, I guess it makes sense, you know, but
I never uh yeah, I never thought about that either.
But I'm with you on that one.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
I don't know if this is a thing. This could
be me just being dumb. But they'll show these, like
the swimmers from overhead, and I swear it looks like
the leader is zigzagging a little bit, And I'm like, is.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
This like a NASCAR thing?

Speaker 3 (01:42):
Are they trying?

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:44):
Like, are they trying to, you know, mess up the
draft for the swimmers right behind them or right Like
I'm thinking it's probably easier to be right behind someone
else while you're swimming.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
Don't you think probably?

Speaker 3 (01:57):
I will think so. I don't know, but YE think so.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
I would think so too. It looks every now and
then like the leader is zigzagging.

Speaker 2 (02:05):
So they don't.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
I swear, they just they just swam by a sign
that said no swimming.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I hope that's actually what it says. I really, I mean,
it was.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
It was It was a visual thing. It wasn't like
a it wasn't words, but it had a red X
through like waves, and what else could that be?

Speaker 2 (02:25):
I don't yeah, yeah, surfing, No, surfing in the same
could be sure, Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:31):
I was.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I was kind of thinking about just the bottom of
the boat's fellas, okay, because all those boats have been
sitting in the water for a long time, and you know,
like a toilet bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Let's think about it like that. I'd rather not, And
how it builds up.

Speaker 4 (02:42):
On the walls, Like do they go and clean the
bottom of every boat for like sanitation purposes or are
they really swimming in a toilet right now?

Speaker 1 (02:51):
I think they're swimming in a toilet right now. I
think that's exactly what's happening. We go from the toilet, no,
don't do that to what we hope for your sake, Eddie,
is not the toilet. With the Pittsburgh Steelers here, huh,
the quest for QB one.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
Right, So you've got Russell Wilson.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
He's not going to play in the first preseason game
they play on Friday against the Texans, so justin fields,
he's going to get the start. He's going to run
with the ones for a couple of series. Russ says, Hey,
I'm ready to play, put me in coach, but it's
Tomlin's decision. We're not going to see Russ out there,
but he's still QB one. What's your rate on this,
Eddie with Who's going to be QB one come week

(03:36):
one for the Steelers?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
Well, I don't think there's any question if he's physically
ready to go, which I expect he will be, that
it's going to be Russell Wilson. I mean, Justin.

Speaker 5 (03:44):
Fields would have to completely blow everybody away with his
performance in some preseason action to maybe get Tomlin to
think about it.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
I don't think that's gonna happen. I would be shocked
if it's not Russell Wilson again, if he can physically
go obviously, which I think he will be, I don't
you know. It's kind of like Justin Herbert. You know,
he's got the foot thing. They'll be ready to go
week one, once the bullets start really flying, they'll be
ready to go. And they're just taking every precaution, which
they should because it's preseason. Who cares? Yeah, and they're veterans.

(04:16):
You know, if it was a rookie, right, if it
was you know, somebody else cab Williams. Maybe I feel
differently about it. You know, get him out there, get
him the reps. But for the veteran guys, they've got
some little this and that there's no need to rush
him back out there.

Speaker 1 (04:32):
No, I see it the same way. The interesting thing
with Tomlin is to make certain comments about, you know,
who's out there and how much it means in the preseason.
Here's one thing that Tomlin said about the quarterback competition
between Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.

Speaker 6 (04:51):
I think everything is an audition. Everything that we do
is an audition, not only for him but for others.
Very much is a competition. What happened this stadium is
weighted heavier than what happens in a practice setting because
it's more game like.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Okay, so that makes sense, right, Edie, Fine, if you
want to weigh that a little bit heavier, Okay, I
get it. But Russ isn't going to be out there yet.
He's still QB one as of right now. So it's
sort of strange right where you're like, Okay, it matters
more that you're playing in preseason games, but Russ isn't
out there and he's still atop the depth chart. That's
kind of odd how that works out right now.

Speaker 3 (05:27):
I don't know. I don't really see it like that.
I think he's the veteran. You know, they went out
and I don't know, I think they they're playing all
along was for him to be the number one quarterback
and then they went, wow, we can get this other
guy too for nothing, and why not just in case?
Maybe he's the future, but the now is the veteran.
It's Russell Wilson. So I might get what he's saying.

(05:49):
I mean, every coach is going to say that kind
of thing. They want there to be competition. They want
the guys who were the twos to go out there
and show what they could do and feel like if
they you know, they've got a shot to compete for
the starting job. But keep them motivated. But yeah, I
still think it's definitely going to be Russell Wilson. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
I think that a lot of times as a coach,
the truth works against you and you just sort of
say stuff. You know, we just we're talking about Harball
last hour saying that. You know that with Tomlin, it's
a better example where if he said exactly what you
said right now, it wouldn't be a great message as

(06:28):
a head coach, right, and I think that you're on point.
He's like, Hey, Russell Wilson, he's the guy who actually
put up pretty good numbers last season. He's the guy
who we think is going to be our quarterback based
on not only what we think he can do, but
what he has done. He's been worlds better than justin
fields in the in his NFL career. If he just

(06:50):
went out and said that and said hey, so despite
him not playing in the preseason and having the calf injury, yeah,
we still he's going to be QB one. He wants
to paint this picture at competition, what you do on
the field in preseas, that's gonna matter more. That's what
he wants to paint. But it's really what you're talking about.
We're just not gonna get that message because he doesn't
want to say that publicly. So you got to read

(07:12):
between the lines and you know, kind of put to
the side the coach speak because you're not going to
get the truth if you just go by that, it
doesn't add up. It doesn't add up to be like, well,
it's all about what you do on the field, and
Russ isn't on the field yet, He's still atop the
depth chart.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
This is something else that Tomlin had to say.

Speaker 4 (07:33):
Russell is having that pole position and being ahead of
Justin and that you saw.

Speaker 6 (07:37):
The depth chart that I released yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
That is real.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
So yeah, Russell Wilson still listed as QB one right now,
even though he's basically on the shelf and not playing
in the preseason. How about this too, Patrick Mahomes playing
in the preseason, Eddie, He's gonna be out there. Think
about that, back to back Super Bowl champion quarterback Mahomes.
He's got three ring already playing in the preseason. And

(08:02):
you just said it a couple of minutes ago. The
Bears couldn't get Caleb Williams out there for a series
or two. That's crazy to be what some of these
teams are doing with young quarterbacks. Get him out there,
give him a little bit of feel for what it's like.

Speaker 3 (08:15):
You know, it's gonna give him a lot of bit
of feel. I would give them at at least a half.
At least a half. Why not because you're scared that
something's gonna happen to him. They need reps, they need
game action. Get him out there.

Speaker 1 (08:31):
I know, I know, it's like Caleb Williams is a
rookie and he's not out there for the Hall of
Fame game, and yet Mahomes, who. I don't know that
anybody has been more decorated through you know, this early
in their NFL career than Mahomes. You know, if you

(08:53):
did the tale to the tape, like Brady versus Mahomes
to this stage like age twenty seven or whatever it is,
Mahomes right, I don't know if anybody's more decorated than him.
He's still going out there in the preseason and the
Bears can't put Caleb Williams out there.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
That's crazy to me.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
This is a little bit what Mahomes talked about playing
in the preseason.

Speaker 7 (09:13):
I'm extremely excited. I mean, obviously for me to go
out there and play with these guys in showcase well
where we have the ability to do, but to learn
from our mistakes too. I mean, you're gonna go out
there and play for real and play against someone else.
I'm tired of going to get spags and every defense
known to man.

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Yeah, I'm sure he is tired of that.

Speaker 1 (09:29):
He's twenty eight, by the way, Eddie turns twenty nine
in September, so he's this is his age twenty eight season.
I don't know how they do that, actually, right, if
you turn a different age during the season, I guess
it's what age you start out as in week one.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
That makes sense.

Speaker 1 (09:48):
If he turns twenty nine in September, Right, is this
is age twenty eight season, because that's what he is.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
In Week one.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
I don't really know the answer to that, but anyway,
he's twenty eight right now. Mahome's gonna be out there.
I think other teams would be wise to get some
of their players out there.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
I'm a little surprised.

Speaker 1 (10:05):
He might push back on this, Eddie, because I know
he's a veteran Aaron Rodgers, and I know he's coming
off of injury. But he wants to go out there.
He wants to get a few series in the preseason.
I'm Robert Sower. I would too, I absolutely would. He's
got brand new teammates.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Why not.

Speaker 1 (10:23):
I don't know why we're acting like preseason games are
death defying stunts.

Speaker 3 (10:28):
I agree, there's Look, there's always a risk in everything.
You can get hurt in practice. I mean, it's it's conceivable.
We're gonna hold him out of practice. I mean, I
just don't. I'm not a big fan of I get
you want to protect an investment and you're yes, I know,
you're paying these guys a ton of money. I get
it all. I get all that, but just the whole attitude.
It's not just football, it's even Baseball two with pitchers.

(10:49):
This whole attitude. And we got to put these guys
in bubble wrap and pitch counts and I mean, we
have to protect them at all costs. You the what
is it in basketball? The low management. It's like, come on, yeah,
these guys are finally two professional athletes. Yes, things are
gonna happen. You can't avoid it. Get him out there, man,
that's what they do.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Yeah, it's if it's if it's a you know, like
Patrick Mahomes. I I like that he's that he wants
to play, and I like that Andy Reid listens to
him like, if he wants to do it, and he
thinks that's that's what's the best for preparing him for
the season. He's gonna let him do it. I like that.
But you know, he doesn't have to get out there
and play like somebody like that. I understand it. But
young players, guys come back from injuries when they missed

(11:32):
the whole season. Get him out there.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Yeah, that's the funny thing to me.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Any argument as to why it isn't smart to get
him out there, you could just say, then why are
the Chiefs doing it?

Speaker 2 (11:45):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (11:46):
Like for anyone who's like, well, I mean rough the
injury concerned and are a couple of drives going to
be the difference between them doing well this season or not?
And it's like, well, then why are the Chiefs doing it?
Why are the Chiefs sending Mahomes out there? This has
got to be some value to it. This is one
other thing that Mahomes said about playing in the preseason.

Speaker 7 (12:08):
I like playing in the preseason, honestly, getting in there
trying to make sure that we're doing stuff the right way,
and then getting out trying to keep everybody healthy, and
then playing the sport that I love. So I'm excited
for the opportunity.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Yeah, man, I get it. I get it. Kind of
a strange move.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Jayden Daniels is going to be out there for the
Washington Commanders. He's a rookie Number two overall pick. I
think that makes sense. I just I don't know why
the Bears were like, yeah, let's not play Caleb Williams.
He hasn't played it down in the NFL yet. Brand
new teammates. Ah, why work on some seasoning. They're kind
of strange, kind of strange something else. I'm still fascinated

(12:46):
by this. Ten k Eddie were on lap five of six,
and they like go into the barriers on purpose.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Have you seen that?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
They'll like swim right into the edge. What's the benefit
of that. I am so lost on it.

Speaker 3 (13:02):
I didn't notice that. I know they're swinging next to it,
close to it.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
Yeah, not like the cement, just like the the Yeah,
like the floaty barrier.

Speaker 3 (13:12):
I don't know. I don't know what to call that either.
I know when I see it and I'm like, oh, yeah,
that's that thing in the pool that keeps the lanes.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, they've gone into it intentionally yet.

Speaker 3 (13:22):
And that water looks ugly.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Who it does look pretty bad? Man, It's yeah, you.

Speaker 1 (13:28):
Think it stinks. There are people like right on the
edge watching this race.

Speaker 3 (13:32):
I went to Paris a few years ago. I don't
recall it being being smelly.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (13:39):
I don't know if Coop Coop went to Paris as well.
I don't know if he recalled. Yeah, I don't recall
it smelling.

Speaker 8 (13:45):
Look at you.

Speaker 3 (13:46):
I didn't stick okay, Larena? Do you do this? Did
the scene have an odor to it? I didn't stick
my face right now?

Speaker 2 (13:51):
Even ate dinner on the boat.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
And I feel like they, you know, that's one of
their main tourist attractions, is dinner on this on the scene,
right or how are.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
You say it? And right? So why why would it smell?
I feel like they probably have really good odor deterrence
in it.

Speaker 5 (14:04):
For that reason.

Speaker 1 (14:06):
Man.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
Maybe I don't know. It's Rome smelled worse. I think
Long Beach smells worse.

Speaker 1 (14:17):
What was the worst international place you've been that smelled
the worst?

Speaker 3 (14:21):
Coop?

Speaker 2 (14:22):
Is that the top bro?

Speaker 3 (14:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (14:24):
Probably?

Speaker 4 (14:25):
And I think it was just I mean, it was
a confluence of circumstances, was that really? Because it was
the middle of July, so it was ridiculously hot, and
I think they had some sort of like garbage strike

(14:45):
going on at the time, so there was just just
a ton of just rotting trash in the street.

Speaker 2 (14:54):
That's always great for tourism.

Speaker 1 (14:56):
Yeah, trash Strike, trash Strike one or whatever it was. Yeah, man,
you guys have been all over the place abroad. I
need to do more of that. Man, I've always wanted
to go abroad. I've been hardly anywhere abroad. I've been
all over the States, but not as much abroad.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Now's the time.

Speaker 4 (15:15):
Where's the the It sounds like you have been, but
not very many. Where have you been to?

Speaker 1 (15:21):
I went to Well, some of it doesn't even really count, right, Like, well,
I've been to Tijuana.

Speaker 2 (15:29):
Yes, that doesn't count. Mexico.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
That's a smelly place.

Speaker 2 (15:33):
Juanna is kind of smelling about that, Eddie. Yeah, I
went to.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Uh, shoot, what's the place called?

Speaker 2 (15:42):
I already forgot.

Speaker 3 (15:43):
Wow, I'd love that big of an impact on you.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Yeah, it's it's not Bermut.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
Rhymes with uh oh, Jamaica Noma either.

Speaker 2 (15:53):
You're right, Coop.

Speaker 1 (15:54):
I was in the Bahamas for about a week or so.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Why doesn't that count?

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Uh? It does count count. It's a broad yeah, but
that's about it, man, Like I haven't been that many places.
There are a lot of places I want to.

Speaker 3 (16:07):
I'll give my wife all the credit in the world
because I was kind of one, you know, ugly American
What do I need to go over there for? Blah
blah blah. My wife first said, now we're going over here,
and then I was like, oh, this is amazing. I'm
an idiot, this is awesome.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Well I do for this?

Speaker 3 (16:19):
London, Paris, Sydney. Yeah, I mean it was awesome, Croatia,
it was great.

Speaker 1 (16:24):
What's next on the to do list for you guys?

Speaker 3 (16:26):
I want to go to? Don't want to go where
Coop went on his honeymoon. It's Tokyo in Japan. That's
where I want to go.

Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yeah, there you go. That'd be fun.

Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
Yeah, you had a good time, right Coop? Oh yeah,
it was awesome. I was.

Speaker 4 (16:37):
I was actually just watching a Japanese Uh well, it's
some Japanese American show on TV earlier, and I was
just like, oh, man, I missed Japan.

Speaker 2 (16:50):
The culture is so awesome.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Yeah, I'm sure it's a lot of fun to just
sample it, you know, learn some creer.

Speaker 2 (16:57):
Except for how harsh they are on weed.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
I love learning stuff like we're fascinated by the ten
k right now in the poopy water and I'm like
I'm learning so yeah, for cultures and stuff, I'd be all.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
Over that all right around the corner.

Speaker 1 (17:15):

What do you have? Uh, have you watched any of
this like speed wall climbing thing.

Speaker 1 (19:38):
I've only seen like little bits and pieces of the highlights.
I haven't seen it live.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
That's pretty wild.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
Yeah, they scream up that thing.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
Yeah, I know they've got the like a harness on
so they don't you know, they fall off or but
still it's there. They are flying up that wall. It's
it's pretty cool. Actually some of these things, you know,
I roll my eyes out, but some of them, you know,
you get exposed to these skills and you're like, man,
these people are kind of incredible.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I know it.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
They'll make it up that in like five or six seconds.
It's crazy. I don't know how they do it.

Speaker 3 (20:12):
Like Monkey's climate.

Speaker 1 (20:13):
Yeah, there are different variations there used to be I
was reading a little bit about this randomly Eddie, but
there were like three different versions of it, and I
think they've combined it all into one thing.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
And so yeah, that's pretty wild.

Speaker 1 (20:28):
I'm still fascinated by the ten k They are right
by the wall. We got to be winding this thing down.
They've been Is this right? They've been at it for
almost two hours?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
Oh? Man is yeah, there's yeah. They've got the clock
on there at one hour fifty eight. Wow, man, Alf,
you know watching this, you know they have that NASCAR
technology where they can like identify the cars. We shouldn't
wouldn't that be wouldn't it be good to let us
know who the hell these people are? I mean, yeah,
even if you're hearing the audio, like have the the

(21:01):
little arrow that says this is this what country they're from?
I guess this person in front is it Sweden or Australia.
They got a yellow cap on, so I'm guessing it's
one of those. But yeah, it seems like you're wasting
an opportunity here to use some technology as far as
identifying what's going on.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
I like your idea there.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
It looks I think it's an Aussie in front, I believe.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
But we shouldn't have to think. We should know.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Yeah. It is the same thing with horse racing. You
know where they.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
There's there's leaders. We know that they're the leaders.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
Yeah, there you go. They've got there showing the little
graphic now, but it doesn't say who they are. He says,
they're the leaders.

Speaker 2 (21:38):
That's terrible.

Speaker 3 (21:39):
Yeah, I can tell that. I've got to figure that
part out.

Speaker 1 (21:43):
Leaders chase group. The ones in front are the leaders.
Oh man, that's funny. Yeah, that's a good way to
that's a good thought. I do like the horse racing
technology where you know they're they're going around and an oval,
but it will have the numbers of the horses. They
haven't gotten it where it's there's so many horses, they

(22:05):
can't have everybody's name up there, right Eddie, But they
have the numbers where you're like, oh, the three horse,
that's who I'm betting on, and you can tell based
on the graphic where they're at in the pecking order.
It's pretty good. Wait, I get that technology here for
the ten k and the poop swim.

Speaker 3 (22:22):
And also they're swimming so close to one side of
the wall. If you're on that side as a spectator,
can you even see.

Speaker 2 (22:28):
Them, Well, you have to be really close.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
You have to be in like the first or second row,
otherwise I don't think you could see them at all.

Speaker 5 (22:36):
Great.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
I've tid all this money to see this and I
cannot see them.

Speaker 1 (22:41):
Awesome, you can see them from farther away, right, We'll
just watch on the jumbo trun Oh wait, I'm outside.

Speaker 4 (22:49):
Well, so that does remind me. I was curious about
this what is and I'm sure it changes every time
it comes around, But what are some examples of costs
to go see an event and at you know, the Olympics.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
Well, I mean yes, especially for us, because in four
years it's going to be here. I want to stuff out.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
I want to to I think that'd be awesome.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
So you're asking, like what's the going rate for the
poop swim ticket?

Speaker 3 (23:14):
Yeah, or or like, you know, I don't know, I
might be I might be speaking out of a turn here,
but I believe you have to buy like a package.
So if you you know, you can't just get track
and field and swimming and gymnastics, you can't get all
the a You have to buy a ticket package where
you'll get one of the big things, but you also
have to get like table tennis.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
That's something else to be all about. Watching table tennis
would be shooters. The you know the Turkish guy that
just stuck his hand. What what on the ticket package?
Would you be like, Ah, that that sucks. I don't
want to see artistic swimming or right that.

Speaker 3 (23:54):
Ras that race walking thing, to me is the stupidest
thing ever. Got it so dumb?

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Yeah that one sounds some.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (24:00):
I wouldn't even you know what, Like it's not gonna
be my you know, first or second or top ten choice.
But I wouldn't mind having to like go see synchronized swimming,
like you know.

Speaker 2 (24:09):
Yeah, there you go.

Speaker 1 (24:09):
It's there wouldn't be much on the ticket list where
I'd be like, oh that sucks. It's like it's the Olympics.
Who cares? Just check it out? Yeah, you know, I
would be all about it. Yeah, man, that'd be fun
in LA in four years. You know, you could see it.
It could be like Snoop Dogg Snoops at every one
of these events.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
It's getting paid very well to be there. What a
dream job man.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
It is.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
He's turned into Marlins man. He's like Marlin's Man at
the Olympics. He's at everything, and he's got like he's
like with Noah Lyles's mom before the two hundred meter qualifying,
you know what I mean. He's not just there, He's
there in like the best possible position.

Speaker 2 (24:48):
It seems like so good for him.

Speaker 8 (24:50):
In NBC, be sure to catch live editions of The
Ben Meller Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.

Speaker 3 (24:56):
Utah Jazz and Ford Laurie Marketing agree on a five year,
two hundred thirty eight million dollar contract. Renegotiation and Extension.
Marketing will make an additional twenty four million for the
upcoming season, with another four years and one hundred and
ninety six million dollars added on Lori markinen.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
Yeah, Wow, okay, taking some bank right, I'll say, yeah.
The poop swim is concluding here, Eddie and I've finally
figured out who's swimming.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
After Wow named that winner.

Speaker 1 (25:26):
I couldn't tell you the name. It's from the Netherlands.
Our girl s van.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
Ruined, ruined, all ruined, all ruindol bank ruined all.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
Our girl from Australia. She got passed. I wasn't even
I didn't even notice it, but she lost. Here they
do it. I didn't realize this either. You kind of
like smack this board for the finish line. You're right,
like you think about Notre Dame and play like a
champion today where they kind of like smack the sign
before they go out to the field. That's what you
do at the end of this ten k mac like

(26:00):
the board above you, I never knew any of.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
This learning stuff.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
Left and right here, Eddie, we go to the militia
here as promised, Andre is in mass wants to check
in what's going onre.

Speaker 10 (26:13):
What's going on, Brian. It's good to be with you.
I think you provided quite an insight there talking about
the Big House in Michigan and how it actually goes
into the ground. That's very interesting, you know what I mean.
You're in this place over one hundred thousand people strong,
hearing on the maze and blue but the optics, in
the dynamics of it, it's very interesting in terms of

(26:33):
how you would describe it. Also interesting at the NCUBA,
and no other word for it, but the hypocrisy and
the ridiculousness of that institution. They're going to parade around
that they caught a bad guy, a bad guy who's
not even a part of the NCUBLEA anymore, and gives
him this suspension. Absolutely preposterous and they just need to

(26:54):
just freaking do away with the Ncuba and just what
the power of five conferences do what the heck they
need to do and just move on with diculous.

Speaker 6 (27:00):
That's almost as.

Speaker 10 (27:01):
Bad as them catching North Carolina for cheating and having
a ridiculous academic institution, excuse me, a ridiculous program, the
African American Studies program, and then the penalty for North
Carolina was absolutely nothing. It's ridiculous. Now, Brian, I need
to get to my point because we've got the members
of the militia. You started off to Bill Belichick. There's
only one place that Bill Belichick is going to go

(27:21):
for his next coaching destination, and you had it right.
He's going to the New York Giants, right back where
it started in the northeast. Brian Dabole, who has the
Belichick connection. After the first year where he caught lightning
in a bottle, it's been getting you know, he had
the sophomore slump and I don't know if Brian Dable
can save Danny Dimes. So the next it's unfortunate because
but Belichick, I think the Giants would be you know,

(27:45):
it makes sense that's where he started, you know, and
to get that opportunity, not that I wish anything to
anything bad on Dable, but it is again I have
to use this word again preposterous that the man is
not in the sidelines coaching NFL football team, not just
because he's close to Don schul but because he's a
very good coach and he's not getting any younger. So
I like to see Solis stay with the Jets.

Speaker 8 (28:06):
I like to see both.

Speaker 10 (28:07):
Saw and Gable, but those would be I think the
more that the optimal landing spots wi Bill, because my
last last last point, will need to get back to
football and stay away from the twenty year old and
the TMC. That's not Bill, Get yourself back to football
and get them straightened down. All right, thanks so much
for taking the time.

Speaker 1 (28:24):
Yeah you got it, Man, good hearing from you. That's Andre.
What do you think, Eddie? What do you think about
Belichick with the Giants? Where I get it, he was
a defensive coordinator there won a couple of rings, but
I still go back to look at the quality of
the roster, you know what I mean, Like, can you
see Belichick getting back into coaching. Who's their quarterback? You

(28:46):
know it's probably not even gonna be Danny Dimes. After
this season. Defensively, you got Kavon Thibodeau, you picked up
Brian Burns traded for him. You got some difference makers
for sure, that'd be appealing to him, But the overall
quality of the roster with the Eagles and Cowboys in
the same division. Man, I don't know, Eddie, I don't know.
You see the Giants in his future right now?

Speaker 8 (29:08):
No?

Speaker 3 (29:09):
I mean it makes sense, I guess for sentimental reasons.
And I do, like I said, I do feel like
there is something to be said for him wanting to
be in the Northeast. I could see that. But right now, yeah,
he's going to go. He's a smart guy. He's going
to go to a place that's, you know, going to
be the best opportunity for him. And he clearly knows

(29:29):
how important a good quarterback is. So at this point
I would not put the Giants high up on the list.

Speaker 1 (29:37):
Yeah, I swear, But things can change, who knows. Yeah,
we'll get to that around the corner, because there was
a member of the militia that tweeted in and had
an interesting thing to say about Belichick. So we'll hit
that right around the corner. He's Eddie Garcia. I'm Brian No,
feel free to check in eight seven seven ninety nine

Speaker 2 (30:40):
Thank you, Eddie.

Speaker 1 (30:40):
So normally I don't care you get all these updates, right,
like these text alerts where it's like, hey, this team
has new throwback uniforms and I'm like okay, and they
might have a video to go along with it.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
That sort of thing.

Speaker 1 (30:56):
Normally I don't care about it, but I saw something
today where I'm like, now, that's different.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Illinois. They're gonna have.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
These nineteen twenties themed throwbacks and their helmets are gonna
look they're painted like their leather helmets.

Speaker 3 (31:14):
Right, this is cool.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
It's totally different. Right, Are you in on this?

Speaker 3 (31:18):
I'm looking right now. Yes, I think these are cool.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
It's so different. At first, I'm like what, And then
I looked at the helmet. I'm like, oh my gosh,
the packers did this.

Speaker 2 (31:29):
You know.

Speaker 1 (31:29):
It goes all the way back to like the Acme
Packers of way, way way back when, where they wore
leather helmets. The packers have worn these, like when Aaron
Rodgers was there, where they have just brown helmets because
they're supposed to be like the leather helmets. But Illinois
is taking it to the next level where they look
like like the paint scheme, it looks.

Speaker 2 (31:51):
Like a leather helmet. It's actually kind of cool.

Speaker 3 (31:54):
So I'm on the.

Speaker 1 (31:56):
Juresey look therib but the painted helmets to look like leather,
I'm in on that, Eddie.

Speaker 2 (32:02):
I'm cool with that.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
I don't even mind the jersey to be honesty, what
do the pants look like? Do they go all in
on the pants too, because remember back in the day
they had those. I don't know, they kind of look
like saggy uh. I'm guess, Oh yeah, yeah, I guess
they didn't on the pants, right.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
I would hope not, but man, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (32:19):
You see the Giants, the New York Giants throwback uniforms.
They're gonna wear those in week one, Eddie. It's one
of the most hideous things I've ever seen. They look
like khaki pants like Jim Harball wears. That's what they're
rocking in week one to kick off the season. Those
look terrible what the New York Giants are doing. But

(32:40):
I'm in if you want to google it, Militia. The
helmets are really really cool. The paint scheme on there.
They do look like leather helmets. It's funny that picture
you might be looking at the same one, Eddie. The
guy who's modeling this, it's a modern helmet obviously, right,
Like he's got the high rise chin strap, he's got
the visor of Like, the helmet is totally state of

(33:02):
the art, but it's painted to be like.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
A leather helmet. It's cool. It's like blending the old
and new. I'm in on it.

Speaker 3 (33:08):
The Giants' uniforms that you're mentioning look like they look
like the Montreal Canadians decided to have a football team.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
That's exactly right. That's exactly what they look like. Are
they not hideous? They're disgusting. They're starting the season in
those things, Eddie. It's not like a week seven, we're
gonna do something a little bit different.

Speaker 3 (33:27):
Did they ever wear those uniforms.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
I don't think they did. I think that they.

Speaker 3 (33:32):
And they're going with the Michigan style football helmet.

Speaker 1 (33:35):
Yeah right, yeah, it's just a different color.

Speaker 2 (33:40):
It's really bad.

Speaker 1 (33:41):
I love this from their rookie Molik Neighbors right, number
six overall pick wide receiver.

Speaker 2 (33:47):
He said this about the uniforms, Eddie, It'll be hard
to swag it out.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
It's gonna be hard to swag it out. That's how
awful these uniforms are. It's like, it's gonna be hard
to look cool and these dreadful things here. Yeah, awful,
and they're starting the season with those. So okay.

Speaker 2 (34:04):
We had a tweet here from Josh.

Speaker 1 (34:06):
We were talking about Bill Belichick, so There's this interesting
story ESPN put together about the rift between Nick Sirianni,
Eagles head coach, and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, and so
they were.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Butting heads last season.

Speaker 1 (34:24):
Some reported that the relationship was fractured, all that stuff.
So my takeaway, Eddie is like, why is Bill Belichick
not coaching the Eagles right now?

Speaker 2 (34:33):
You had this.

Speaker 1 (34:33):
Nosedive, lost six of the last seven, lost to Tampa
Bay thirty two to nine. Sirianni's not ceen ida I
with Jalen Hurts and he's back there. I don't know
why I would have gone all in with Bill Belichick,
but we got a tweet from that conversation. Josh checked
in and wrote, it's not about Bill being just a coach.
He wants full rain and that's why owners are reluctant

(34:56):
on giving that to him. Look at the example with
the Falcon. Now, this is where I think it's interesting, Eddie.
I get all of that, but look at the Falcons
compared to the Eagles. The Eagles roster is really really good.
And I don't think Belichick is that big of an idiot.
Maybe I'm wrong, maybe he is. I just don't think

(35:16):
Belichick is that big of an idiot If the Eagle said, hey,
we want you to be the head coach, but Howie Roseman,
he runs the personnel. Okay, just coach the team. This
roster is freaking nice. Do you think he'd be like, no, no,
I need full control. I could see him saying that
with the Falcons, I get that, But the Eagles and
what they have roster wise, he'd be out of his

(35:39):
mind to be like no, no, might need full control. Also,
do you think he would do that?

Speaker 3 (35:46):
I don't know. He's got a pretty big ego and
he's got a lot of rings, uh more than Howie Roseman.
So I don't know. I don't know. But Jalen Hurts
I get I think Bill Belichick. I think when he
does return, he's going to go to a place that
has an established quarterback. I mentioned Buffalo earlier. I think

(36:07):
that that would be a more appealing destination with Josh
Allen than did Jalen Hurts personally. That's all. That's how
I feel about it. But I mean, it's not a
bad job. I don't think the Eagles job is a
bad job.

Speaker 2 (36:17):
For sure.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
There's a lot of talent there, But I don't know,
I can't say for sure if Belichick would like that
job or not.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
Yeah, I would love to know.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
Can you imagine if the Eagles were not just thinking
about it, and they did, they had this idea and
they talked about it internally. I have no idea how
serious it got. I certainly don't think there was an
offer made. I think that that'd be really hard to
do for a team to offer Belichick. And it never

(36:50):
made it publicly.

Speaker 2 (36:51):
You know what I mean.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
So I don't think it got there, But I would
love to know if it actually did get there. If
Belichick would still say no, I think he would be
out of his mind because think about that, Eddie, which
would you rather have? Would you rather have full personnel, say,
and take over a team roster normally you're taking over
teams roster wise, That leave a lot to be desired.

(37:16):
He's not going to coach for ten more years, you
know what I mean, He's got two or three more years.
Why would you still have your heels dug in like Nope,
need full control. And there were also I'd have to
go back and look, but with the Falcons, there were
some things that Belichick. It was reported where he was
on board with not being like the final say, not

(37:39):
having final say with all personnel matters, and talking about
I think it's Terry Fonteau over there as the GM,
so yeah, I think maybe we're just assuming that's what
he wants and that might not be the case at all,
but hey, I think he'll be employed next year, is
what it boils down to, all right, coming up next, Eddie.
I am sensing a step back for an NFL stud
