Speaker 1 (00:00):
Where is the best spot for this guy?
Speaker 2 (00:03):
We will get to that.
Speaker 1 (00:04):
We're broadcasting live from the tire rack dot Com studios,
tire rack dot com. We'll help get you there. An
unmatched selection, fast, free shipping, free road hazard protection no.
Over ten thousand recommended installers, tire rack dot com. The
way tire buying should be all right, Eddie, So you're
a noted Steelers fan, right, Steelers.
Speaker 2 (00:25):
Are reportedly so?
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Yeah, Yes, they're reportedly in the mix for receiver Brandon Ayuk.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
As are the Browns.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Right, Browns are in the mix as of right now.
Patriots are reportedly not in the mix anymore.
Speaker 2 (00:40):
And I love this.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
They have decided to focus on their young receiving core,
which is largely garbage, you know. But they're going to
focus on that young receiving core is what they're gonna do.
It's at least unproven, very young. Maybe that's too far
to say garbage. They drafted Jalen Polk in the second round,
(01:01):
Javon Baker, WHOFC guy in the fourth round. I know,
not household names, but they're young. Kendrick Bourne. Okay, they're
going to focus on their young receiving core. Okay, fine,
so it comes down to the Browns and the Steelers.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Now here's the thing, Eddie.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
We often look at this in terms of what's best
for the team. Is this good for the Niners to
trade Brandon Ayuk? Is this a great get for the
Steelers or the Browns? We look at it from the
team point of view first and foremost, let's look at
it from the player point of view. If you're looking
at it from Brandon Ayuk's standpoint, the best case scenario
(01:37):
is to get paid huge money from the forty nine Ers.
You stay there, you're productive, you got a chance to
win the Super Bowl, all that good stuff. If it's
not the Niners, if he's held bent on, no, I'm
worth more money, you're not paying me. If it's between
the Steelers and the Browns, which do you think is
the better spot for Brandon Ayuk? And we're injecting you
(01:59):
with truth, sem So this is the unbiased non Steelers
lean here.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
Where do you think is the best spot for Ayuk?
Speaker 3 (02:08):
Well, first thing I'd have to look at as the
quarterback position. Obviously in Pittsburgh, we you know it's in flux.
I guess yeah, But then you've got the disaster that
is Deshaun Watson in Cleveland, which is one of the
biggest disasters in the NFL. That's I think that's a push.
(02:32):
To be honest with you, I really yeah, I don't.
I don't think either of those is great. Ye, But
I would assume if he goes to Cleveland that that
means that they would be shipping out of Mark Cooper.
That would make him the number one option where he's
not going to be the number one option in Pittsburgh right.
(02:54):
So based on that, I would have to say Cleveland
would be the better option for him.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I think it is Cleveland. And man, that's.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
Listen, that's the multimillion dollar question is what's Deshaun Watson
gonna be in Cleveland? Because he hasn't been anything yet
and was banged up a lot last season. This is crazy, Eddie,
when you just look at this. So in two seasons.
Remember the first season he was suspended for eleven games,
(03:26):
so that was a very short stint. But just a
couple of numbers. Seven touchdowns, five picks. Okay, that sucks,
but he's knocking off the Russ rust right.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Last season before he got hurt.
Speaker 1 (03:38):
Seven touchdowns, four picks in only twelve starts, he's thrown
fourteen touchdowns in nine picks.
Speaker 2 (03:48):
For the Browns. That that isn't good at all.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
That just for Deshaun Watson standards, that's not good to
begin with in the NFL. But that's the question is
what do you have. He's still got the talent, but
I think a lot of people look at him like
he's just a lost cause.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
I wouldn't go that far. Are you willing to go
lost cause for Deshaun right now?
Speaker 4 (04:10):
Eddie?
Speaker 3 (04:11):
No, But I am starting to feel like he is
certainly trending in the wrong direction, no doubt. And you
can blame the injuries. I get that, but I mean
you can't even if you're a really good player, don't
you can't miss that much time and just expect to
(04:33):
just have it click back on for you. To me,
so he's got to prove it to me. I think
he's still capable, but I would I'm I'm not totally
confident that he's going to just be able to find
the old magic again. Now you might not completely suck,
but I don't know if we'll ever see that, you know,
(04:56):
pretty effective playmaking quarterback that was in Houston.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Man, it's crazy too when you look at Houston. So
the last year he was in Houston, he threw for
over forty eight hundred yards. Completion percentage was seventy, he
threw thirty three touchdowns, seven interceptions. His passer rating was
one twelve point four. Those are insane numbers. And then
(05:27):
after he was traded in all the legal stuff where
he was the super creepy quarterback at best, he's been
freaking terrible. Fourteen touchdowns and nine picks, Eddie. Think about
that last season in Houston thirty three and seven. Last
two years combined fourteen and nine touchdowns to interceptions. He's
(05:52):
thrown nineteen fewer touchdowns in two more picks in two
years with the Browns than his final season in Houston.
Speaker 3 (06:01):
Yeah, I mean he look, he's he's had the injuries,
hasn't played well, He's missed a ton of time, and
he's gotten paid. He is you know, is the fire
still there? He's He's set up for life. Right, It's unless.
Speaker 5 (06:14):
He gets sued by a bunch of people, I guess, but.
Speaker 3 (06:16):
Which is possible. But you know what I'm saying, I mean,
is the is the fire still there? He's been taken
care of yeah, it's I think it's you know, could
be part of the story.
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Yeah, it's a legitimate question. Absolutely.
Speaker 1 (06:28):
This was Jameis Winston on Thursday, teammate Jamis is with
the Browns, and here's what he had to say about
Deshaun Watson in I.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Don't think he's gonna be like a a.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
High profile rapper anytime soon, Jameis Winston.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
But check this out, Eddie. It's what he had to say.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
I think that's one of the things that a lot
of people forget. When you can go out, you can
see practice, you can nicknack this that Paddy wack, give
a dog a bone. Deshaun Watson is gonna turn it on.
He always gonna find a way to shine when the
lights come on. Man, I just rhyme, but I definitely
gonna hear.
Speaker 1 (07:08):
Okay, kind of interesting way to give props to Deshaun
Watson there, But he went nick knack and patty whack
in the midst of that thing.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
Okay, Yeah, I didn't see that coming.
Speaker 6 (07:23):
Man came rolling home. Gotta love a good nursery rhyme.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Yeah, I just think of Dice.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
I just think of Andrew Dice Clay with the nursery rhymes,
you know, turning them dirty.
Speaker 2 (07:37):
But yeah, that's again just a.
Speaker 6 (07:40):
If it just kind of about dirty nursery rhymes. Tell
me more.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah, Andrew Dice Clay, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
Lorena knows who that is?
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Lorena, are you serious?
Speaker 5 (07:51):
Never heard of him?
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (07:52):
Ice, that's not that surprising.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Yeah, I'm not surprised. There's a while ago.
Speaker 5 (07:56):
I would bet my entire life savings. My wife doesn't
know who Andrew Dice.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
Clay is, either your entire life saving He was a
flash of the ban.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
Dice is a legend.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
God, come on, do you realize Dice was in what
was the movie with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga?
Speaker 5 (08:15):
Star Is Born?
Speaker 8 (08:16):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, he was the father of Lady Gaga in that movie.
It's Dice. Dice was in that movie. It's a small role.
Speaker 9 (08:26):
But well, I'm gonna tell you I haven't seen the
movie either, so it's two for zero.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
A good movie.
Speaker 5 (08:31):
You haven't seen a Star is Born?
Speaker 6 (08:32):
I know, I suck.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
You're like a huge Lady Gaga fan. I know, Well
that is weird.
Speaker 3 (08:38):
If you're a huge Lady Gaga fan.
Speaker 6 (08:40):
We have the same tattoo on our back.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
What is it the roses?
Speaker 9 (08:45):
Okay, if you watch the Bad Romance video, you can
see her. She does a pose in front of the
bed when everything explodes and you can see the roses
on her spine.
Speaker 6 (08:56):
I was absolutely in love with it, so I got
him love Lady Gaga.
Speaker 5 (09:06):
She was fantastic. I thought she was really good.
Speaker 1 (09:08):
Yeah, really good, very talented. Sometimes she's an outstanding singers.
Sometimes they don't have acting chops at all. She was
really good.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
Did you like that movie, Coop?
Speaker 5 (09:20):
I like it a lot.
Speaker 6 (09:21):
I thought it was good this weekend.
Speaker 9 (09:24):
I don't want to get scoop, so I know to
watch it, Okay, Coop?
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Scoops coming up? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Yes, yeah, but yeah anyway, jamis with odd but high
praise for Deshaun Watson. What if he's correct, Eddy, what
if there's a resurgence from Deshaun? I still think Cleveland
is the better spot for Brandon Iyuk. That is such
a talented roster and quarterback wise. Look, are you betting
(09:57):
on either Russell Wills in justin fields or Deshaun Watson
to have the best season in twenty twenty four? That's
a legitimate question. Who would you take? Do I have
to pick any of them for this hard hitting question. Yes,
you have to pick one of them.
Speaker 3 (10:16):
Yuck. Well, like I said, I'd rather not have any
of them, but I'll take Russ If I got to
pick one of those.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Really interesting Yeah, hey, look man, you might be right.
I would take DeShawn. I would take DeShawn to be
the most productive. I just as long as Deshaun is healthy,
he's clearly the starter. And look at all these random
quarterbacks that actually performed well. Joe Flacco most notably, Joe
(10:45):
Flacco was good. He came off the couch and was
good for the Browns. How can DeShawn not be good
if Flacco can come off.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
The couch and put up numbers.
Speaker 1 (10:56):
I'm just looking at Flacco's numbers real fast from last season.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
I mean, not as good as you think.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
Thirteen touchdowns, eight interceptions, passer rating is ninety. I mean
for a guy that thought he was probably retired, to
put up those numbers is pretty decent. So I gotta
think Deshaun is still capable and he's gonna be the
starter as long as he's healthy. I can't say the
same thing about Russell Wilson. I can't say that I
(11:27):
can see Mike Tomlin saying, hey, we're a little bit
stagnant here.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
We're gonna try to get a jolt. Let's go with
Justin Field, who can.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
Produce highlight reel plays and then have five head scratching
incompletions right after that.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Let's give him a shot. I can see Tomlin doing that, right, Eddie.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
It's possible. I do kind of think we're gonna see
both of them at some point this year.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, you might be right.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
Hey, let me go in a completely different direction on
you real fast. So Track and Field is on right now,
Olympics going on live, and I just I'm watching the
four by four hundred relay race, and the question that
just popped into my head was, what do you think
the worst feeling as an athlete would be? Now we're
(12:19):
not talking a couple of qualifiers here. I think you
got to eliminate like physical combat sports, you know, like
if you just get your ass kicked as a boxer
or a UFC fighter, I think that's got to be
the worst. Let's put that to the side, Okay, And
we're not talking like pull your hair out agonizing defeat. Obviously,
(12:40):
that would be the worst in any sport. We're putting
that to the side as well. I'm talking about you're
a four hundred runner, you know, the four hundred meters
and someone is just smoking you, just leaving you in
the dust something along those lights. What do you think
would be the worst feeling where you're just like, wow,
(13:02):
I wasn't physically dominated, you know what I mean, Like
someone just beat me up, but my pride has been
so wounded. What do you think would hurt your pride
the most as an athlete?
Speaker 3 (13:16):
Uh, like not even qualifying, like being disqualified because you
you know, I don't know, you're like in the long
jump or something you couldn't hit the board properly or
you never even got off like a legal attempt or
something like that.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
I guess.
Speaker 1 (13:30):
I mean more so with another athlete just being so
much better than you.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Is it getting wapped?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
That's what I mean?
Speaker 1 (13:40):
Like, is it a runner that is just so much
faster than you where you're just like holy hell, or
any other sport where you're not getting your ass kicked.
But I don't know, like Steph Curry just hit you
with this crossover move and put you on your butt,
you know, like just hurt your pride and you're so
(14:02):
clearly on a much lower level.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I don't know what would bother you the most.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
Yeah, I don't know. On the spot, I got nothing.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
Sorry, I hear you. But that's the thing that popped
into my head there. I wonder which sport and which
athletes you know, like at night before you go to
bed and you're like, man, I suck, you know, I
just got dominated today and not physically like getting beaten up,
(14:33):
but just absolutely destroyed by the competition.
Speaker 2 (14:37):
I don't know what would bother you the most. I
really don't. But that's the question that popped in.
Speaker 9 (14:41):
I feel really bad for the people who were playing
in France who are from France. You know, they want
to make their home crowd, and a lot of them
I've seen them not even qualifying.
Speaker 2 (14:52):
Yeah, that would I'd feel really bad.
Speaker 6 (14:54):
I'd cry. I'd cry so hard.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
Because they get the most applause right when they're announced.
It's like Jacques Leblue from Friends, that's our guy. Yeah,
jacquson last Place.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
You know that's not bad. I like that.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Loraino all right, feel free eight seven seven ninety nine

bottom of the hour, Coop Scoops, that is happening. And
then we've got topic Medley Lorena has to set the
(15:34):
record straight in a musical way. I feel like this
is very important. So that's the only thing I'm gonna tease.
We're gonna pay that off. That's on the way. I'm Brian, No,
he's Eddie Garcia. We're in for big Ben Mallor here

First, let's get out to the militia real fast.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
And then Lorena has got to set the record straight
musically with something that we've talked about on the show
in the early hours.
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Here.
Speaker 1 (17:01):
First off, Rob is over in Maine. We were just
talking about Deshaun Watson. Rob has a thought on this.
Curious about this, Rob, You're on Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (17:09):
What's up?
Speaker 1 (17:09):
Man?
Speaker 8 (17:10):
What's up? Game? All right?
Speaker 12 (17:12):
So here's where it is for I'm thinking, have you
ever seen the old lostin Powers movie?
Speaker 8 (17:17):
The original one?
Speaker 7 (17:18):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah, sure?
Speaker 8 (17:19):
Lost Mojo? Yep?
Speaker 12 (17:22):
What happened to Tiger Woods when he got caught, you know,
playing eighteen holes on his off time?
Speaker 5 (17:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (17:29):
He lost all with Mojo? Ain't been the same since.
Speaker 1 (17:33):
Yeah, but Tiger did win the one major after that, right,
I know he's not close to being Tiger again.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
But that's the question for DeShawn.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Could he do at least the same of like the
football equivalent of winning a major that that well?
Speaker 5 (17:47):
Yeah, yeah, he.
Speaker 12 (17:49):
Might have a couple of good games here and there,
but until he gets his confidence back, will he gets
his confidence back?
Speaker 8 (17:56):
I don't see it happening so long term. Here's what
I want. I want him to say. Up here, Pats
pick them up for pennies.
Speaker 12 (18:03):
Mob Craft looks them up with a couple of contacts,
get Mojo Beck and on top.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Now, what kind of context are you talking about here? Rob?
Speaker 12 (18:13):
You know what I'm talking?
Speaker 1 (18:18):
Okay, all right, Rob, Yeah, I hear what you're saying. Well,
we'll see how it works out, man. I appreciate the call. Yeah,
we'll see about de Sean. I like that the comparison
of him losing his mojo. Were you an Austin Powers
fan Eddie? Did you like those movies? I thought they
were entertaining. I didn't get it at first. I didn't
(18:40):
know it was basically like a you know, a like
a double O seven spoof.
Speaker 2 (18:47):
Really, I didn't know. So I'm just watching the movie
the first time.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
I'm like, what the hell does any of this have
to do with anything?
Speaker 5 (18:55):
I hated it when it first came out.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
I did too, and then I someone was like, no, dude,
it's like it's a double oh seven spoof.
Speaker 2 (19:02):
And I watched it again, I'm like, Oh, it's freaking hilarious.
I thought it was.
Speaker 9 (19:06):
You know, when you say it like that, that kind
of makes sense. My dad wasn't allowed to watch it
as a kid, so I never I'd never really grew
into it as an adult either, right, because you know,
but the spy who shagged me?
Speaker 6 (19:19):
That makes sense.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
Yeah, that's totally what it is. Okay, So, Lorena, there
was a tweet here. You want to set the record straight, Yes,
we said who let the dogs out? I compared Nick
Foles to the Baja men. Right, He's a one hit wonder.
So now it's standing hit, winning Super Bowl MVP, beating
Tom Brady's Patriots team, all that good stuff.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
But there are.
Speaker 1 (19:42):
Murmurs about his jersey being retired, his number being retired
with the Eagles. That's crazy in my book. But I
compared him to the Baja men and who Let the
Dogs Out? There was a tweet here from the militia
had the wrong idea of the meaning of the song.
So you're here to set the record straight, Loraina, What
is a song actually about?
Speaker 9 (20:01):
So Robin the three two one said that who Let
the Dogs Out has nothing to do with animals, but
it's about who let the unattractive ladies into the club.
I've never heard it described like that, so I had
to go look up the lyrics because granted, this is
a song that I really only know the chorus too,
So who am I to say, right? So I had
to go look it up, and no, it's it's definitely
(20:23):
not about women who are ugly in the club. So
I'm just gonna give you a little, o little runover. Okay,
the party was nice. The party was pumping.
Speaker 2 (20:34):
I thought it was jumpin'.
Speaker 9 (20:35):
It's pumping, pumping, and everybody's having a ball. I tell
the fellas to start the name Colin, and the girls
respond to the call. He heard a woman shout out,
who let the Dogs Out? Okay, I feel like that
is already enough story right there.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
That's enough evidence.
Speaker 9 (20:52):
The men were being dogs and the women are like, oh, God,
who let them in here?
Speaker 5 (20:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (20:58):
Who let the dogs out?
Speaker 9 (20:59):
And then they even the men get angry because the
girls are calling them dogs, and he's like, I got
to keep my cool, right, So yeah, No, definitely misunderstanding there,
And I just wanted to set the record straight because
we cannot have the misconception of that men are dogs
not women.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (21:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Now, I feel like that was important right there because
I read the tweet from Rob and I'm like, really,
that's what it's about. Oh and then I saw your
follow up tweet and You're like, no, not at all.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
Yes, not correct.
Speaker 6 (21:28):
I do want to point out something though.
Speaker 9 (21:29):
He said that he only said that because he saw
it on the internet that that's what it was about.
Uh oh, but this is why we cannot believe everything
we see and read on the internet.
Speaker 6 (21:39):
Do you have to do your own research?
Speaker 2 (21:40):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (21:41):
You got to go straight to the lyrics, that's right.
It's like sports Lorena, they say that tape don't lie, right,
your football player tape don't lie.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
The lyrics don't lie. Play it back, go straight to them.
Speaker 10 (21:54):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Meller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.
Speaker 3 (22:00):
I do want to mention I saw that Chi Chi
Rodriguez passed away.
Speaker 12 (22:05):
I know.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
I'm glad you mentioned that. Eighty eight years old. Yeah,
he was so fun.
Speaker 10 (22:11):
Man.
Speaker 3 (22:12):
There was this golfer and when he would hit the
pott he would use his golf his potter like a
sword and he would stingo. I slayed that putt right.
Speaker 2 (22:22):
He would do length of z like the Zoro thing.
Speaker 6 (22:25):
The personality on him, yes, yes.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
And then he would wipe it off. You would wipe
off the blood as.
Speaker 3 (22:30):
If it was like sheath the sword.
Speaker 6 (22:35):
Like battle really just happened.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
It was so cool.
Speaker 1 (22:38):
I didn't know this eddie. His first name is Wan.
I didn't know Chi Rodriguez. And he learned to golf
by hitting cans with a tree stick. Wow, that's how
he first learned. He's from Puerto Rico, you know, and
and that was his first you know, I don't know
what you would say his first toward being a great golfer.
(23:02):
He won eight PGA Tours PGA Tour events.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
He was so fun. I thought he was great for
the game.
Speaker 8 (23:09):
Man.
Speaker 1 (23:10):
I'm glad you mentioned that, because especially for golf too.
Sometimes golf can be a little bit too proper. I
feel like sure and to have some personality like chie
Chi Rodriguez.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
I thought he was great for the game. I really did.
Speaker 1 (23:24):

(24:29):
in the viewing world.
Speaker 2 (24:31):
Maybe a better way to word that, Coop. But I
did my best, Thank you, Brian.
Speaker 5 (24:37):
So we're gonna start off at the movie theaters as
we normally do.
Speaker 13 (24:41):
Now, there's a couple movies coming out this weekend, of
note one of them. One of them is especially of
No for not the good reasons. The new movie Borderlands
is coming out now. This is based off of a
very popular video game, and they've got a big name.
You know, You've got Kate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black,
(25:03):
Jamie le Curtis Eli Roth is the director, and it
is just getting terrible, terrible reviews. It has got a
six percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Oh no, yeah.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
It's like straight to plane.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 13 (25:25):
So a lot of people were very excited about this
because it is a beloved video game franchise and it
just it seems. I saw one review which just says
they sucked all the joy.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
It's wow, Well you see it anyway.
Speaker 5 (25:40):
I don't think so.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
I was.
Speaker 5 (25:42):
I was. I've never actually played this game.
Speaker 13 (25:44):
Believe it or not, it was very popular about I
just for whatever reason never got into it, but I
was gonna check out the movies because I've heard of
the game. The same thing happened when the Fallout came out.
I had heard of the game, I know of it,
I never played it. And then I was like, but
I'm gonna check out this TV show. And the TV
show is awesome and I'm now playing the old Fallout
(26:05):
games as we speak, So I was thinking maybe a
similar thing would happen with this. But with what I've
seen from these reviews, I'm like, I'm not gonna waste
my time. And it's not just like the audience like
you know normally when they're this bad, Like the audience
score kind of made the audience scores pretty bad too.
Speaker 5 (26:23):
They're wow.
Speaker 2 (26:24):
Yeah, so just thumbs down all the way around.
Speaker 13 (26:27):
Yeah, we have another movie coming out this weekend.
Speaker 5 (26:31):
It's called Cuckoo.
Speaker 13 (26:34):
And yeah, it's a horror movie and it stars Hunter Schaeffer,
and I.
Speaker 6 (26:43):
Want to see this one. This is what I told
you about.
Speaker 13 (26:45):
Yes, it is about a seventeen year old Gretchen leaves
her American home to live with her father, who has
just moved into a resort in the German Alps with
his new family. Arriving at their future residence, they are
greeted by mister Cohen, her father's boss, makes an inexplicable.
Speaker 5 (27:01):
Interest in her sister. Something doesn't seem right.
Speaker 13 (27:04):
So it's a suspense slash thriller and that is in
theaters right now. Now moving over to television, we're going
to start off with a message for Lorena. A star
is born. It's available to stream on HBO Max Wish.
Speaker 6 (27:20):
I do have that streaming service, shout out.
Speaker 13 (27:21):
Hermit Perfect, so you can you can watch that on there. Now,
moving over to I believe this actually came out last week,
but I did not notice it and since then I
have watched it as a documentary on Netflix. And it's
called Dirty Pop and it is about Loup Pearlman.
Speaker 5 (27:41):
Do you do either of you do any of you
know who will? Thanks lawyer?
Speaker 13 (27:45):
So he was he basically started created the boy band
a craze.
Speaker 6 (27:55):
When you said dirty pop, I thought of in sing
dirty pop.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
Yeah, that's yeah, that's what it's.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
You kissed that.
Speaker 13 (28:02):
Yes, he was the creator of Backstreet Boys and and
Sync basically, and it turns out so he ends up
going to jail. I don't know if you know the story,
but he ends up going to jail for the biggest
like ponzi scheme in the history of the country.
Speaker 5 (28:25):
Uh so, yeah, it was. It's a pretty interesting story.
Speaker 13 (28:28):
I know that he went to like I knew that
he went to jail just from seeing in the news,
but I didn't know all the details behind it. It's
a I believe it's a three episode documentary.
Speaker 12 (28:35):
It was.
Speaker 13 (28:36):
It was really entertaining, especially for those of you that
are of my generation that kind of grew up through
that entire era.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
You know, Coop, I just started thinking about with poker, right,
you don't want to be the bubble boy, right, you
don't want to be the first person not to cash.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Think about who was like.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
The sixth dude that didn't make the Backstreet Boys cut.
You know, there's gotta be that story out there somewhere.
We're like, Yeah, this freaking guy that you're talking about
didn't choose me the other.
Speaker 13 (29:08):
It's kind of hilarious that you used that phrasing because
one of this guy's scams was he was the sixth
member of Backstreet Boys and n Sync No, so he
was their manager. He was getting the manager cut, but
he was also getting equal payment to all of the
guys in the group in their contracts. He had it
(29:30):
as he is the sixth member, so I guess it'd
be the seventh member.
Speaker 5 (29:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Wow, that's crazy.
Speaker 5 (29:41):
Yeah, it's wold. But it goes even deeper than that.
Speaker 13 (29:44):
The money that he got to start these groups was
also a sham.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
It's very interesting.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
I gotta check that out. What's that called it?
Speaker 5 (29:52):
It's called Dirty Pop on Netflix.
Speaker 2 (29:55):
Dirty Pop. Okay, that sounds good.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
Yes.
Speaker 13 (29:58):
And then, last, but not least, I want to mention
a new Apple TV Plus show that is premiering on Wednesday,
August fourteenth. It's called Bad Monkey and it is a
comedy slash drama, a drama dy It is from the
from the creators of Ted Lasso and Shrinking, and it's
(30:23):
starring Vince Vaughn as Andrew Yancey. A former Miami police
detective now demoted to restaurant inspector.
Speaker 5 (30:31):
Okay, he finds.
Speaker 13 (30:33):
Himself drawn into a case involving corruption and environmental issues
after a taurus finds a severed arm while fishing. Oh yes,
I'm Michelle Montague the.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
Old severed arm while fishing.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
That's right.
Speaker 13 (30:44):
Michelle Monaghan also stars in this and Zach Braff is
a guest star as well. So the first of ten episodes.
The first two of ten episodes stream on Wednesday on
Apple tv Plus. And that is Koop Scoop Undertainment. Very
nice at all, Coop, No, not at all.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Have you ever gone fishing? Yes, it sounds like like
a one and only type thing.
Speaker 13 (31:08):
No, I've been, like I've been out fishing, like on
the ocean, and then I've also done like lake yeah fishing. Uh,
it's not for you, no, because I don't know.
Speaker 5 (31:24):
I just I don't like.
Speaker 13 (31:27):
I don't I don't like like, I know, it's just
a fish, but I just I just don't like it.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
What the hell does that mean?
Speaker 3 (31:35):
It feels the fish?
Speaker 1 (31:36):
Yeah, they're fine, put her fat right, They're fine.
Speaker 13 (31:43):
Yeah, I know, Like, I know you put them back,
but you're also like jamming a hook in its cheek
and then ripping it out of the water where you
can't breathe.
Speaker 5 (31:52):
It's just so it's just like flopping, like Coop.
Speaker 1 (31:56):
They're built for it, man, you know, you get the
hook they didn't say that in a nice timely fashion
and get him back in the water. They're disoriented for
a second and then they like snab out of it.
Speaker 13 (32:08):
Sure, But on top of that, it's a lot of
just kind of waiting around and it's fun for people
who I guess I would like to drink beers. You
just need to sit out there and you drink. And
I'm not a I'm not a drinker. I guess, like
I guess I could smoke a joint about there.
Speaker 1 (32:21):
But I mean, we got a fish drunk one time, Coop, geez,
it's a true story. We're fishing one time and my
friends literally poured beer into this fish and then we
caught the same fish again and he was clearly drunk.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
True story. It still blows my mind to this day.
Speaker 5 (32:43):
I think you guys were clearly drunk.
Speaker 6 (32:45):
I hope.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Public service announcement. Don't get the fish drunk, you know,
don't get him drunk. I caught a bass one time
in Portland, Daddy, are you fishermen at all?
Speaker 9 (33:01):
No?
Speaker 5 (33:02):
No, not at all, not at all.
Speaker 1 (33:03):
I was very I've always wanted to catch a bass,
and I did kind of by accident. I actually I
got the line stuck on like a tree or like
debris in the water or something. It was a it
was a bass. I caught one, finally, proud achievement of mine.
But I love fishing big into it. One of my
friends in all but it real fast. He was like,
you look like you like to fish, and I was like,
(33:26):
what does that if it mean?
Speaker 2 (33:28):
Brother? It was a funny coming all right.
Speaker 1 (33:29):
We got to close the show in style, coming up
high praise and low minutes.
Speaker 2 (33:34):
We'll tell you what that's all about. He's Eddie Garcia.
Speaker 1 (33:36):

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Okay, Eddie. We got some high praise and low minutes. First,
the high praise. This comes from Bears quarterback Caleb Williams.
He was on up in Adams with k Adams. He
was talking about Matthew Stafford. Check this out.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
I think it was forty six, right on top one
hundred fifty six.
Speaker 11 (34:29):
It was something unbelievable that he should I was not
happy about.
Speaker 2 (34:32):
Would you put in I can't.
Speaker 13 (34:33):
I don't think I can name two quarterbacks, two of
three quarterbacks that play a position better than Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
How about that, Eddie.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
I do like that he gave Stafford high praise because
for the longest time it seemed like he just got criticized,
especially when he's in Detroit.
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Very talented quarterback. I think that's a little.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Bit too high from Caleb Williams, but it's a breadth
of fresh air. There's actual praise instead of just more
he doesn't do this or do that, or do this
or do that. It's like, bro, he was playing for
the freaking Lions. They played no defense, had bad special teams.
That's that's kind of tough to overcome. And also this Eddie,
we were talking about, remember Rudy Gobert and the minutes.
(35:14):
How many minutes was he gonna get? He only got
three minutes against Canada. And then on Thursday against Germany.
How many minutes for Rudy go Bear? He played a
grand total of five minutes?
Speaker 2 (35:30):
Huw that's it? Gold medal game against the US. How
many minutes does he get?
Speaker 3 (35:38):
I mean he must be really injured then, I mean,
even though he.
Speaker 1 (35:40):
Says it's a finger injury, the coach says it's a
matchup thing.
Speaker 5 (35:43):
How matchup?
Speaker 3 (35:44):
Come? Come on, he's an NBA player, who come on,
it's ridiculous.
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yeah, well, hey, you got Team USA, Embeid, Anthony Davis.
He should be out there right. How many minutes? Where
do you ballpark it for Rudy gobert In.
Speaker 3 (35:58):
I thought he was gonna have a lot of minutes
against me, so I'll say, I'll say he gets fifteen fifteen?
Speaker 1 (36:05):
Okay, okay, I'm gonna take the over on that, Eddie.
We'll see about that. Something to keep you interested in
the gold medal game? All right, We got Marcel in Brooklyn,
our guy. Before we get on out of here, Marcel,
Welcome to Fox Sports Radio.
Speaker 2 (36:19):
What's going on?
Speaker 5 (36:20):
You've only got thirty seconds? Marcel?
Speaker 7 (36:21):
Oh yeah, good morning, some quick food pick soul for
the weekend. So let's get into it, starting with you,
my man.
Speaker 2 (36:30):
I'm gonna go with beef flavored ramen.
Speaker 7 (36:33):
Beef Ramen, and just like Ben says the Mitch Match, Eddie,
don't want to play. Oh, by the way, Eddie, you
want to play.
Speaker 5 (36:47):
No, no, I don't want to play.
Speaker 6 (36:49):
Marcel, I think you had rice Krispy Treats.
Speaker 5 (36:53):
I think you had hot Shader Jack chicken with chili
lime rice.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
Wow, what is it?
Speaker 7 (36:57):
Marcel and witn
