(00:21):
I don't if it isn't officially done. This deal with
wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins going to the Chiefs, it's going
to be completed, if not already done. So right, DeAndre
Hopkins is going to be traded to the Chiefs for
a fifth round pick in twenty twenty five, could be
(00:42):
a fourth round pick if DeAndre Hopkins plays enough talking
about like sixty percent of the snaps over here, and
so do you know where this stands right now? Is
this official or it's on the doorstep of being official?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
I mean I think it's on the doorstep of being official.
I don't see unless he fact fails his physical or something.
But you know how that is in the NFL. If
they want you to pass your physical, you're going to
pass your physical. So I don't see that this is
not going to go through.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yeah, I can't imagine it won't go through. So, yeah,
DeAndre Hopkins. DeAndre Hopkins is going to be with Mahomes.
It's shocking to see mahomes numbers, Eddie. We know how
great of a quarterback he is, but he's thrown six
touchdown passes in eight interceptions. You typically do not see
(01:30):
that at all from Mahomes. And a lot of this
has to do with not exactly star studded talent around him.
I know he still has Travis Kelcey, but we're talking
about wide receivers with no Rashie Rice. It's slim Pickens.
So DeAndre Hopkins, even an older DeAndre going over there,
matched with Mahomes. Yeah, I can see that having an impact.
(01:53):
I'm not making him a top five, top ten star
right now in the NFL, but I think he's got
a little bit left in the tank. And how about
the Chiefs. They were interested in rams receiver Cooper Cup
before they were, you know, turning toward DeAndre Hopkins. But
price tag a little bit too much for Cooper Cup.
We're talking in the neighborhood of a second round pick
(02:15):
and then the contract right the Rams are expected to
eat some of that contract, but probably not enough for
the Chiefs to make it work. So they're looking at
DeAndre Hopkins. What do you think to make a big deal?
Does this tilt anything even more in their favor? When
you look at the landscape of the AFC, what do
you think about the Chiefs trying to three people?
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I mean, it couldn't hurt, right, I mean it is.
I mean, I know that Mahomes numbers aren't what we're
used to, but you know, I don't think he cares
at all about that or their fans, to be honest
with you, I mean, they continue to win and in
crunch time. I believe in him as much as I
believe in any quarterback in the NFL. But just to
I mean, the revolving door they've had at wide receiver.
(02:54):
The guy's going down every week. It's incredible. So if
he can stay healthy. I don't know if there's some
sort of jinks on the wide receivers there in Kansas City,
but no, I can't imagine it could hurt in any ways.
It can only help. So I'm not expecting him to
go in there and turn into an All pro again.
But I definitely think he can be someone to get
(03:15):
him some key third down conversions occasionally here and there,
and be a threat in the red zone. So I
don't see how it couldn't help, right, No.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
I'm with you. If you think about the three wide
receiver trades recently, if you ranked them on impact, Okay,
do you think DeVante Adams helps the Jets more than
say Amari Cooper with the Bills, DeAndre Hopkins with the Chiefs.
(03:44):
What would the one through three on wide receiver impact
look like for you, Eddie.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
I would have to go Adams one, not only because
of the relationship he has with Aaron Rodgers, but also
you know it helped them depth wise. With Garrett Wilson there.
Now he's not going to get the focus of all
the defenses, so you can spread it around a little
bit more. So I would say that would be one. Uh,
(04:12):
I would go to I would go Mahomes would yeah, yeah, uh.
And then three I would say Cooper and Buffalo. But
I think they're all, you know, decent upgrades. I think
they're all helpful. For sure. I'm waiting for my Steelers
to do something. By the way, I keep hearing, you know,
they were supposedly in the Brandon Ayuk thing, and they
(04:33):
definitely need somebody to help with George Pickens. And if
they're gonna go to Russell Wilson and they're gonna, you know,
want to throw the ball more, then they need somebody
else for him to throw to, because uh, you know
it's not George Pickens is very talented, but they need
they need a little help there. Jefferson is not a
viable two option there. So we'll see if they I
don't know who's left, maybe maybe Cooper Cup. I don't
(04:55):
know that would be That would be something, So we'll see.
Speaker 1 (04:56):
Yeah, it seems like the last big name that is
out there that you hear a lot of rumblings about.
I'll hear other names like maybe Darius Slayton of the
Giants or you know, guys like that, but Cooper Cup
is the biggest name that's getting some buzz that's left.
My ranking would be a little bit different. I would
actually go Marii Cooper to the Bills number one in
(05:19):
what I'm expecting in terms of impact, because man without
making a trade from Mariy Cooper that wide receiving corps
in Buffalo leaves a lot to be desired. Like Khalil Shakiro.
He catches everything. He's a good possession receiver. But they
just don't have a whole heck of a lot. Ken
Pulman's all right, but he's a rookie, you know. So
(05:39):
to get a Marii Cooper, that's a big, big deal
for Josh Allen and the Bills. I would put that one.
I still think DeVante Adams going to the Jets. They
played eight years with Aaron Rodgers, you know what I mean,
Like that's a long time. So the chemistry that those
two guys have, I would put that too. And then
I would put DeAndre Hopkins there. It sounds like I'm
(06:01):
not expecting him to make any impact whatsoever. That's not true.
I just I wouldn't have him above those other teams.
But I still think he can make a difference. You
just don't have a whole lot there in Kansas city
wide receivers. Why so yeah, make a move for DeAndre
Hopkins makes the AFC more interesting. I would wonder if
you're one of these teams, Addie, do you feel like
(06:24):
you're making a deal with the devil. The Chiefs have
won the last two Super Bowls. What did you feel, like,
why are we making a trade with them? Doesn't feel
like it's bad NFL juju to assist them in any way.
I mean they were assisted by the Bills, right with
Xavier Worthy. The Bills made a trade for them to
get a different wide receivers. It's even worse if you're
(06:46):
the Bills to do that, because at least you're a contender.
The Titans are nowhere close, So that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, in the end, you know, if you're a team
like Tennessee, you need to do whatever the best available
deal is, even if it is helping, you know, the
defending champs get a little bit better. So I get
it from their perspective, but I also understand what you're saying.
It's like, yeah, we want to make these guys a
little bit better.
Speaker 1 (07:09):
Know it, we're helping the evil Empire. Basically, it's like
making a trade with the Yankees when they got all
this talent and when they were winning back in the day.
It's it's kind of a the rest of the league
has got to be like, really, really that team really? Okay?
All right, fine, thanks Titans.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
And by the way, another team that could really use
a wide receiver. My poor wife's Chargers. I mean he's justin.
Herbert has thrown it some yeah, like Will Disley or
something like that.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
Is he went off, he went crazy against the Arizona.
Speaker 2 (07:43):
Right this guy, I saw him on the sidelines. I
was like, oh my god, who is this guy? He
looks like a truck driver.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
It was the Will Disley Show against Arizona.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
That's your best option. You need to get some help.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Yeah, it's uh, it is. It's slim pickens there because
it's it's a collection to do. It's Lad mcconkey's a
second round pick. But then it's Joshua Palmer Quinton Johnston
who hasn't really caught on. And uh, yeah, Herbert threw
for a ton of yards against Arizona but they came
up short there. What is your wife? How does she
(08:17):
she react to like a tough Chargers loss?
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Uh? To be honest, seen this movie before, don't like it,
But I love the movie so much I'm gonna keep going.
But yeah, she's been Uh, she's seen her share of
difficult defeats, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
So has she been hardened over the years? Where this
doesn't like cut to the soul with the loss. You
know what I mean, she's been calloused a little bit
with these tough losses. She's prepared for them.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
I mean she I don't think she's I don't think
she's you know, been become jaded or you know what
I mean. She still is is hopeful and she still
goes into it with enthusiasm. But yeah, it's hard. I
mean I sit next to her just sometimes I just
look at it and go, man, I'm sorry.
Speaker 1 (09:09):
I'm sorry.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
You don't deserve this. You do not deserve this.
Speaker 1 (09:13):
Is that what happened when because your Steelers beat the
Chargers earlier this year, we.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Went to we went to Pittsburgh. I don't know if
I told you that or not, but.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
Oh, yeah you did, Yeah we did. I was it
everything good?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I had a great time. Yeah they won, and no,
it was it was cool.
Speaker 3 (09:29):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
I've mentioned this before, but when we were looking at
getting tickets because you we go to a Charger road
game every year, and we try to go to someplace
we want to go and uh, but we you know,
every time they play the Steelers, that's like I have
to go to game, right, so uh, and we were
buying tickets, were like, man, why are these tickets so expensive?
Because we've gone to those games before, and then we realized, oh,
it's the season opener for the Steelers, and so that
(09:51):
was my first season opener for the Steelers. So that
was really cool. But weather was great. So now we
had a good time to did you know, we knew
one of us would be uh a little bit sad
at the end of the game, but she and she
handled pretty well.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
Did she rock Chargers gear?
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Of course she did? Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
What was it? Was it like a I don't like
an old school Philip Rivers jersey.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
Now she's got I think she wore the Justin Herbert jersey.
Speaker 1 (10:13):
Oh okay, new school. Yeah. Herbert got banged up that game.
There's the Taylor Heineke Show for a little while.
Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, I had that ankle injury, got reaggregated. I think
once he went out, she was kind of like, Okay,
we're gonna lose, and so she it was the impact
of when the final happened was was okay.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
Yeah, yeah, I know she's prepared for that. Yeah. By
the way, we have to get into this Russell Wilson
thing a little bit later in the show. I got
to get your feelings on that, Eddie, because at least
what through one week feels pretty good. The timing was
strange to make that move, but at least it paid
off against the Jets. But we got to get into
(10:52):
that as the show goes along, for sure. For sure, Yeah,
curious what your your thoughts are on that. Feel free
to check in eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
That is your number on Twitter slash x if you
get down with that. At Eddie on Fox at the
No Show always available for you right around the corner.
(11:14):

feels that way, and so it brings on an interesting
kind of like roundtable a discussion. We'll do that right
around the corner. I'm Brian, No, he's Eddie Garcia. We're

a Bronco fan, and I'll live'm the tyrack dot com,
Fox Sports Radio Studios. In for Ben Maller, it's Brian No.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
You know, Eddie, do you uh you ever think that
you might be able to do something that's probably a
little bit outlandish, Like most likely you wouldn't be able
to do this, you ever, I don't know. Like a
lot of fans are notorious for doing this. They sit around,
they watch a game and they say, oh, I could
I can make that run. I could run to the
(12:42):
end zone right there. Uh, there's someone here that is
doing that. So this is Anthony Edwards, Oh yeah, of
the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
You catch this one, Eddie, Yeah, I have I heard
about this? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (12:54):
Yeah. So he says he can tackle Raven's running back
Derrick Henry. All right, now, this is Anthony Edwards talking
with Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Okay, so here's the
little back and forth. Check this out.
Speaker 2 (13:16):
I ain't pop him, but I'm gonna hit it.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Okay, So I'm not gonna pop him, but I'm gonna
hit him. Right. He believes he could tackle Derrick Henry. Now,
Derrick Henry caught word of this, and this was his
reaction to that.
Speaker 2 (13:31):
Do I think.
Speaker 1 (13:33):
Anthony Edwards could tackle me?
Speaker 2 (13:36):
Hell no?
Speaker 1 (13:37):
Okay, so he is a believer in that happening, which, listen,
Anthony Edwards would have no chance. We all know this, right,
he would get trucked.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yeah, I even honestly, has he ever stood next to
Derrick Henry? Has ever seen Derrick Henry in person? I mean, yeah,
I don't know that is?
Speaker 1 (13:57):
Uh, come on, a man that big should not be
that fast. Yeah, Derrick Henry is.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
I remember I saw somebody on YouTube is put together
a compilation of like high school highlights of NFL grades,
and there's one of Derrick Henry. And it literally looks
like they took a man and put him in a
uniform and had him run against high school kids. Just
the way he was just running through defenses. And you
(14:26):
can imagine, you know, some poor high school kid trying
to I'm not going in there, are you kidding?
Speaker 1 (14:30):
Meet you imagine, Oh my gosh. There were stories like
that where you know, there are these offensive linemen or whatever,
like a Derrick Henry at running back and you're just
this high school kid. This is as far as you're
going to go in football, and you got to go
against that guy, you know, Oh gosh. There are some.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Horrors like Antonio Pierce talking about business decisions a couple
of weeks ago. Right, I'm making a business I want
to go to the dance after the game. I don't
want to be in the emergency room.
Speaker 1 (15:04):
No doubt. And uh yeah, but uh do you believe
this is an honest question, Eddie, because Anthony Edwards he
got me thinking, now we're not gonna be able to
tackle Derrick Henry. Okay, is there anything you think you
could realistically do in the pro ranks? I mean it
(15:25):
could literally just be hit an elbow jumper. Just one time.
Do you believe you could do anything even for one
play in the pros?
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Well, something like throw right?
Speaker 1 (15:37):
You could do that?
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Yeah, yeah that if you're gonna allow me to do
something like that. Yeah, anybody could do that.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
Okay, So what else could be done? What else is
on the list outside of hit a free throw?
Speaker 5 (15:47):
I could hit it an uncontested three.
Speaker 1 (15:50):
On uncontested three, I could add that to the list.
So running work list right here? What else do we have?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Maybe catch a fly ball or routine flyball?
Speaker 1 (16:01):
Yeah that's great? Yeah, yeah, where are we in center?
We're in right or it.
Speaker 2 (16:05):
Doesn't matter, it doesn't matter if it's a routine flyball,
it's hit right at me. I'm I'm pretty sure I
could catch it.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
Okay, I like it. We got free throw, uncontested three,
routine fly ball? What else anything in hockey we can do?
Or that's just completely out of the quest. No, who's
the guy? It was like an insurance salesman. That was
the emergency goalie. Could we stop a puck? Could we
do that?
Speaker 2 (16:32):
The only way the only way would happen is if
they just shot it right at me. That you're not
going to make a save. It may hit me and
not go in the net, but no, I would not
be able to know. Have you ever sat behind the
glass at an AHL game?
Speaker 1 (16:45):
No, I have.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
When those guys fire off a legitimate slaps show, you
don't even see it. All you do is hear it
if he misses the net.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
That's crazy.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
What the hell was that?
Speaker 1 (16:55):
I always love the people sitting behind home plate at
a baseball game where there's a a foul ball that
goes straight back and they're like wow, you know they
always it's just a reaction where they duck to their
left real fast because they think it's gonna hit them.
But you're right, Yeah, a puck is going faster than that.
It is insane. Okay, so we yea save by default
(17:16):
to the list, like we don't move, we just accidentally
make the save. Is that part of this?
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (17:21):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Now, in high school I was a center and I
did snap for extra points and field goals and punts.
Huh so maybe an extra point I might be able
to do that.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Okay, like snapping for the extra point? Yeah, okay, extra
point snapper is what I That's.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
About the only thing I could think in football that
I there's no way I would make a field goal.
I don't know that I could catch like a kickoff,
even if it was in the end zone. I don't
know that I can with pat full pads on.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I don't know. You might be able to.
Speaker 2 (17:53):
I don't know. It's it's I mean, full pads and
a helmet and everything. It's a lot more. It's a
lot more constricting than you think if you've never done
that before.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
But you're hoping this is not in the landing zone, right,
you want to straighten ye?
Speaker 2 (18:08):
No, hell no, no, no, no no. I would catch
it and run out of bounds as fast as I
could if I and I don't even know if i'd.
Speaker 1 (18:15):
Make it this sidelines, see has it and he runs
straight out of bounds at the two yard line, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
I would. I would lateral it out of bounds if
they got close to me.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Sure, yeah, okay, uh, I don't know. If we've covered
everything here, there's got to be listen. If there's a
wide open receiver. I'm not talking about like airing it
out to Tyreek Hill or something like that. Let's not
get crazy here, but if there is a wide open receiver,
let's just say he's running a slant something like that.
(18:49):
You give me a wide open guy, I'm I'm completing
that pass it.
Speaker 2 (18:52):
Have you have you thrown a football with full pads on?
Speaker 1 (18:55):
Yes? I have? Okay, all right, yeah, it's it's going
to be completed. I I can't think of a like
a route off the top of my head that happened
in a recent NFL game where there's you know, this
guy just wide open over the middle or something like that. Eddie,
we're completing that pass. I'm cleated past to wide open receiver.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
I can't. I can't throw anymore, Brian. I've told this
story on the air, have yeah, where I was throwing
the ball to my sister in law's dog playing fetch.
Uh huh, And it was like, oh my god, I
can't throw anymore because I don't do it anymore. I mean,
when I was a kid, I was throwing a ball
every day. Now it's like, oh my god. I was
trying to like hit a spot on the wall and
(19:36):
it wasn't happening, and I was like, man, this is sad.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
Yeah, you know, I know I could throw, but I
messed up my elbow. I don't know if I told you, this,
but this was a while ago. It's pretty much fine now.
But I was doing these pull ups and I told
my sister, she's a physical therapist. I was like, it
feels like there's a golf ball around like my forearm
elbow ish area, and she's like a ball. Yeah, yeah, Lorena,
(20:02):
it's not good. She's like, that's not going to go away.
Like you got to shut it down for a couple
of weeks and maybe it'll go away. Yeah, I was
on the Yeah, I was on the d L for
a while. Or what is it now? The iyel? Is
that the way you do it? Eddie? I was on
the iel, Eddie.
Speaker 5 (20:17):
I gotta ask, did you try switching up your throat?
Did you go for an underhand or something?
Speaker 2 (20:22):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (20:22):
Did you go my home side arm?
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Lorena? Men, don't throw the ball underhand right overhand here always.
I'm not Ben Mallor.
Speaker 5 (20:32):
For God's sake, I wouldn't be able to see over
the offensive lines.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
My problem.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Well, we gotta go deep drop back here, Coop. You know,
we're talking not just your standard seven step. We're talking
like an eleven step drop back. We gotta have clear,
you know, vision of the open receiver over the middle.
And yeah, we're worth completing that pass.
Speaker 3 (20:55):
I honestly, I'd feel better about catching the pass if
I'm if I'm wide open, if i'm you know, if
there's no defender around me.
Speaker 1 (21:05):
Okay, so what are we talking? Are we talking? You
line up at running back and just kind of little
screen pass kind of Yeah, while.
Speaker 3 (21:13):
I think even like if I was on a like
just a a full like you know what, I don't
know what do you call it? A street stream like
route or just a streak? Yeah, streak. I think I
think I could. I think I could, you know, catch
back or like a little comeback route, you know I could.
Speaker 2 (21:31):
If you've never worn a football uniform, it's a lot
more difficult than you might think, just it's just the
way you run.
Speaker 3 (21:41):
But I will also point out and I don't I
don't mean this as a dig eddie at all.
Speaker 5 (21:48):
Just I'm saying back back.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
In you know, even even Brian, back in your guys day,
the pads were a lot bigger.
Speaker 1 (21:55):
Right, Yeah, they're more streamlined now. Yeah, you know, yeah,
I do feel like I've got a.
Speaker 2 (22:01):
Football helmet at home. I'll bring it in coop and
let you put it on. And how how uncomfortable.
Speaker 1 (22:06):
Aerodynamic it is. Yeah, that's a I think we got
to get you on a comeback here, coop. Yeah, yeah,
if you're wide receiver, because if you're running a straight around,
catch it like you know, yeah, like in between the
safety and you. I swear, if you're looking at the ball,
you have to feel the safety just bearing down on you.
(22:28):
And I feel like if that's not your normal like
nine to five, it's probably gonna be incomplete there. But
if we can get you on a comeback, yeah.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
I'm talking about a completely blown coverage like there's there's
all there's nobody within fifteen yards.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
Okay, blown coverage deep ball, we can catch that thing.
All right, good, I think we got a good Lorena.
Did we leave anything out? Is there anything you can
think of here?
Speaker 4 (22:55):
No?
Speaker 2 (22:55):
I can.
Speaker 1 (22:55):
We're a first basement. We catch the uh, we catch
the ball as someone rounds out to.
Speaker 2 (23:00):
I think that's that's to a boy. I would be that.
Speaker 5 (23:03):
Guys just need to look at retirement and never touching
balls again. I can bowl a strike.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
That counts true.
Speaker 5 (23:10):
Style, granny style right between the legs.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
No, that counts for double. If you get a strike
that way, that's uh, that's tough to pull off right there,
But yeah, bowling a strike, I think that works. I
just got its thinking because Anthony Edwards of The Timberwolf
said he could tackle Derrick Henry Henry, which is ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
I've got it.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
Got it's thinking of things we actually could do. There
are a few.
Speaker 5 (23:37):
Daniel on Twitter says, steal a base on a wild pitch?
Speaker 1 (23:41):
Perfect?
Speaker 2 (23:42):
Is that count?
Speaker 1 (23:42):
But it's not stolen?
Speaker 5 (23:45):
Oh yeah, that's that's true.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
We could steal a base on defensive indifference. That's what
we could do. But yeah, yeah, we'd have to. That's
probably the only way I'd probably.
Speaker 2 (23:56):
Pull my hamstring. If I'm being honest. My running days
are over, unless you know there's a fire in the
house or something like that.
Speaker 5 (24:03):
Do you remember the last time you ran?
Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yeah, I was playing We had the Fox Sports Radio
Turkey Bowl. We played a flag football game every Thanksgiving
and with Vito. Vito was probably the only guy still
around from from those days.
Speaker 5 (24:17):
Was playing out there before I was working here.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Then maybe maybe, or.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Maybe haven't ran over? Oh you know what was Mike
Dunsmore there? Yes, yes, I remember the year that this happened.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
Yeah, and that was the last time I sprinted and
the hamstring went and I was like, that's it, that's it.
My Turkey days, my Turkey Bowl days are officially I
retired right there. Done.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Do you have any stories from those games? Were you
just playing like two hand touch? How'd you do you.
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Remember Marcel Hall that used to work here? No, he
was he was quick and fast and nobody could catch him.
H JT. The brick went out there and he got
he got fallen on by somebody brought their gigantic friend.
I thought JT was going to be uh, we have
to call taken to the hospital.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
Were you were you like, were you playing tackle or hand?
Speaker 3 (25:07):
Well?
Speaker 2 (25:07):
It was it was touch, but it actually got a
little rough, did a little bit. Yeah, yeah, wow. He
was wearing a Raider jersey and said JT the brick
on the back and he was in the Yeah.
Speaker 5 (25:21):
Why don't we do this anymore?
Speaker 3 (25:23):
I was, Yeah, he worked for the team, so I
guess that's yes, all right?
Speaker 1 (25:30):
Would you play if they brought it back? Eddie?
Speaker 2 (25:32):
No, I'm done.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
I'm done.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
I'm done.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Come on, I wouldn't you.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Would do it?
Speaker 1 (25:37):
Huh? Coop?
Speaker 5 (25:37):
Yeah, we got to show up for the Ben Mallor show.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
The problem is with these these Turkey bull things like
they was like it's always like six in the.
Speaker 5 (25:45):
Morning, like you know some Yeah, well.
Speaker 2 (25:47):
You know you got family things to do. Yeah, that
would be great. You know it's a pretty good athlete though.
But did you know back in the day he had
a sort of a tryout with the LA Galaxy.
Speaker 4 (25:57):
No way?
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (25:58):
Really?
Speaker 3 (25:58):
Wow?
Speaker 5 (25:59):
Yeah, you know he looks like a soccer was a
soccer guy.
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Yeah, yeah, it looks like a soccer guy.
Speaker 5 (26:05):
He does.
Speaker 2 (26:07):
Can you expand upon that, Loreno.
Speaker 5 (26:08):
Yeah, he's tall than lanky and has nice hair.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
That's definitely the calling card of a soccer player. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (26:16):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Some news from the NFL, we had the Carolina Panthers
announcing that Bryce Young will start at quarterback against the Broncos.
Andy Dalton sprained thumb in a car accident.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
I got questions about that, Eddie. How do we just
sprain the right thumb.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
I mean holding onto the steering wheel when you get hit.
Speaker 1 (26:42):
I guess yes, that's that's weird.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
Commander's quarterback Jaden Daniels did not practice Wednesday, nursing the
rib injury. Browns announced Jameis Winston going to start against
the Ravens, with of course Deshaun Watson being done for
the year, and the Titans are considering they're leaning towards
Mason Rudolph again with Will Levin. Oh boy, what great
options there for your Tennessee Titans.
Speaker 1 (27:04):
Was respectable in the first half last week against Buffalo,
and then the second half rolled around Eddie and that
was ugly. That did not work out. Well, Yeah, we'll
get to those quarterback changes here momentarily, Brian knowing Eddie
Garcia in for Big Ben Meller here on Fox Sports
Radio Real fast. Put the actual former football players to
(27:28):
the side at Fox Sports Radio, like any x NFL,
any ex college football players who are just the Fox
Sports Radio personalities. Who you think who would be the
best and who do you think would be the worst
if the Turkey Bowl got brought back.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
Well, that's a tough question for me to answer because
I don't see any of these folks during the day
much anymore. I'm not even like there's probably some young
guys who are editors and maybe some fill in producers
that are probably in there on air.
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Go with on air? Who do you think.
Speaker 5 (27:59):
Let's see it then? Who's got you know? Former NFL player?
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Well, he said, don't include those people.
Speaker 1 (28:03):
Yeah, put all those guys to the side. US count
sure we can get them in there.
Speaker 5 (28:12):
I was thinking Nick Cope and Monci for sure. I
think it'd be good.
Speaker 1 (28:17):
Best Okay, how about worst.
Speaker 5 (28:26):
Friendly?
Speaker 2 (28:28):
Yeah that's a good call.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
Oh man, I just love that. That was good. That
was good. Let's get out to Angry Bill. He wants
to check in. You know, we're having a good time, right,
Let's let Angry Bill keep the good.
Speaker 2 (28:47):
Time angry since Ben's not here.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah, what's going on, Angry Bill?
Speaker 6 (28:52):
How you doing? Gentlemen? Good Brian. I want to get
your take on this thing with Lebron James and his
son playing Hello, a little bit an angle on it.
What happens with the betting people? Better on the game
and they come up short because Brownie played Brownie or
whatever his name is, played three minutes and competent and
(29:13):
be a guy could have scored at least one more point, okay,
and they lose the bet. What do you think? How
do you think that's going to affect the betting and
the people that might lose because this young man is
playing in the game.
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Well he agree, Billy, that's that's on you as a
better you know, you got to factor that in to
your handicap because we knew he was going to play.
There was news that was dropped. So if if that
screwed you and you took an over, it's like, hey,
I'm not going to feel sorry for you. Take the
under next time.
Speaker 6 (29:44):
You know, yeah, bet on the game if he's playing.
Basically what you're saying, well.
Speaker 1 (29:51):
If it screws up your bet, you can't whind about
it because you had news that he was going to
get in the game, So you got to factor that in.
Speaker 2 (29:58):
You know.
Speaker 1 (29:59):
It's just I'm not saying don't bet. I'm just saying,
don't whine if you come up short because of that.
Speaker 6 (30:05):
I got Chunky. I'll go along with you on that. Yeah,
but what do you what do you think of the
the basic I don't want to use the word, but
I have to use a scam of him being allowed
to be in the NBA. Don't you think it's a scam?
Speaker 1 (30:21):
No, I don't think it's a scam. I think it's Listen,
it's just preferential treatment, that's what it is. But I mean, listen,
we're talking about a roster spot for probably a G
League player who would barely see the court anyway. So
if we're talking about he's taking the roster spot of
an actual difference maker, that's a different argument. But if
(30:42):
he's taking the spot of a guy that's gonna make
like little to no difference anyway, I just don't see
what the huge deal is.
Speaker 6 (30:50):
Well, I think it's I don't think it's right. Guy's
making money, the other guy's making money for his family
and he can't because the paper twent man is playing
in the game. You know, It's just it's it's wrong.
It's totally wrong, And I think you guys shouldn't even
be reporting on it. You shouldn't even bring up their names.
You shouldn't say a word about them because it's, oh,
(31:13):
it's a nice word about disgusting.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
I swear you sound exactly like Eddie Garcia on this
take of Yours Angry.
Speaker 2 (31:20):
But I didn't say we shouldn't talk about it. I
think it's it's interesting to debate, so I wouldn't go
that far that we should.
Speaker 6 (31:25):
Just ignore it, But so you guys can keep making money,
Are you kidding? He come on, yeah, we're rolling ring here.
I heard I heard all your stuff on the sports
take and everything, And basically it's like a it's like
a fart in the wind, a good.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
Night with wait wait, wait with with what?
Speaker 2 (31:41):
What did he say it about a fart in the wind?
Speaker 1 (31:44):
I know?
Speaker 5 (31:44):
But what takes your takes?
Speaker 1 (31:47):
All of them, I guess.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
I like to say, yes, some of them are sure,
but all of.
Speaker 1 (31:54):
Them, I mean, every single one.
Speaker 3 (31:57):
Over really, look like, what's interesting because I feel like
what Bill isn't taking into account is it's still a business, right,
running the running the Lakers, running a sports team. And
so when you take into account how little impact Bronnie
or whoever is going to take his roster spot will have,
(32:20):
you have to go with the guy that's gonna make
you more money because it's an attraction. Because like it
or not, there are people out there that are enjoying
this that like.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I will concede that point the novel. I will concede
that point.
Speaker 1 (32:32):
There you go, There you go. It's it's a little bit.
And listen, in college football, when it used to be
four teams, we would run into this sometimes where you
might have a team that you could argue had a
better resume, maybe a better body of work, but a
team that had a comparable resume and comparable body of
work just a little bit less was a better TV
product and they're gonna get the nod. And I get
(32:54):
the counter argument of that sucks. That shouldn't be the
way it is. I totally understand that, But to Coop's point,
that's often the way it goes. And so I don't know,
Like again, Eddie, if we're talking about Bronnie James has
taking the spot of a dude that's gonna play I
don't know, like seventeen minutes and score eight to ten
points a night and make a real contribution. Okay, but
(33:17):
we're talking about a dude that's gonna do about the
same thing as Bronnie who's not named Bronnie, right like.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
That? Yeah, that that argument doesn't fly with me at all.
I mean, yeah, there's going to be guys who just
sit on the bench and don't play, but they still
earned that spot to get there, and giving it to
someone because of who his dad is not cool.
Speaker 1 (33:41):
By the way, Eddie, what if what if Bronnie develops
into just a contributor in the NBA? What the what
are all the people that are going to say, I
mean literally like just legitimately on the roster, gets minutes,
Luke Walton kind of like that, you know, just a rotation,
(34:03):
like sort of rotation guy can contribute. What if he
turns into that? What if he plays in the NBA
for five plus years? You know what I mean? For
all the people that are like, he doesn't deserve it,
he should never be on the roster to begin with,
what do you say then?
Speaker 2 (34:20):
You know, well, let's see. Let's see him make an
NBA roster on a team where his dad doesn't play.
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Fair enough, fair enough, we might get there'd be interesting
if that does happen.
Speaker 6 (34:30):
All right?
Speaker 1 (34:30):

Speaker 2 (35:23):
You think that's up to you? Brian, You're driving this truck, my.
Speaker 5 (35:26):
Man rally rally rally.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Hey man, that's what happens when we go to angry
Bill a little bit late in the shot clock, if
you will. And he was a sour puss, kind of
like you on this whole Bronnie James thing.
Speaker 2 (35:43):
You know, Yeah, I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (35:47):
We're a little bit late, a little bit late right there.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
He's on the right side of this.
Speaker 1 (35:50):
He's on the wrong side, especially when he said what
every opinion, how did he put that.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Was like all your opinions fart in the wind, fart
in the wind, tastefully stated, yes, very very well done.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
Do you believe angry Bill looks at his radio and
is like, Nope, don't agree with that. Nope, don't agree
with that, Nope, don't agree.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
Well, he's earned his nickname. You know, he's grumpy. I'm
not grumpy. I just you know, just don't think this
Brownie James thing is legit.
Speaker 1 (36:21):
Yeah, which isn't funny that you're not grumpy and he's
incredibly grumpy and you have the exact same take on
that issue.
Speaker 2 (36:28):
Though, well it's a coincidence.
Speaker 1 (36:29):
It is a little bit of one. All right, coming
up next, there's probably a better way to say what
this guy said. That's on the way.
