Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Oh, what's going on? Hope you're enjoying your early Tuesday mornings.
Pleasure to be hanging out with you, guys. So let
me lay out one story and we'll get to the militia.
You know, I appreciate the militia. They're very interactive on
this fill in show. Really love that. Love that. So
I won't put you on hold for too long, but
(00:29):
let me throw one story out there and then I'll
work in the militia. So there's an investigation that could
go one of two very different ways. Okay, this would
be Malik Beasley's. He's with the Detroit Pistons this past season,
and he is under federal investigation. So Malik he allegedly
(00:56):
has been closely connected to gambling sports gambling. So there
are allegations of gambling related to NBA games and prop bets.
So these allegations are from the twenty twenty three to
twenty four season. This wasn't the past season. It was
the year before the past season, right, So it's two
(01:18):
years ago when Beasley played for the Bucks. He played
really well for the Pistons this past year, but the
season at question was two seasons ago when he was
with the Bucks. So one of the stories is great.
This is from January twenty twenty four. So there a
(01:41):
gambling industry source pointed to a game between the Bucks
and the Blazers. This was on January thirty first, twenty
twenty four. The odds on Beasley recording fewer than two
and a half rebounds moved significantly at sportsbooks before the game.
How much did these gambling odds move, Well, initially it
(02:04):
was about plus one twenty for the under, and it
surged to minus two point fifty on the under due
to all the betting actions. So he went from put
it this way, if you put one hundred dollars on
plus one twenty odds, you would win one hundred and
(02:25):
twenty dollars. You would have to risk two hundred and
fifty dollars at minus two fifty just to win one
hundred dollars. So this is a big move. All these
gamblers are like, give me the under, give me the under,
give me the under on his two and a half rebounds,
and so The funny thing is that Beasley finished that
game with six six rebounds, So he went over everybody
(02:49):
that's just hammering the under They were wrong and they
lost their bets. But the unusual activity has got the
Feds that poking their big No, they're big snouts. They
want to find out more. What's going on with Malik
Beasley is something is they have ulterior motives? Something the
farious going on here with Malik. Now, this past season
(03:10):
with the Pistons, Malik was just draining threes. Three hundred
and nineteen made three pointers. That's the most in a
season in Pistons franchise history. So before all the federal
investigations and all this stuff started, the Pistons in Beasley,
(03:31):
they're talking about a contract extension, looking at a three year,
forty two million dollar contract extension. But now the talks
are on pause based on the federal investigation. So the
first part of this is man Malik could have really
screwed things up for himself, where we don't know. These
(03:52):
are just allegations. We don't know if he was placing bets.
We don't know, if he's placing illegal bets, giving inside information,
what have you. We don't know yet, we do know
that this is the same US District Attorney's Office for
the Eastern District of New York. It's the same outfit
(04:12):
that charged six people in the Johntay Porter affair. So
that's like, oh, so, Johntay Porter, he got banned for life.
Like the old nWo days. Once you go in WO brother,
you go in WO four life, Right, John Tay Porter
is gone for life. So the same DA's office that
(04:37):
investigated that Johntay Porter situation, they're investigating Malik Beasley now.
So it's like, uh ohhh, we'll see, we'll see if
there's any fire. There's some smoke, We'll see if there's fire.
But the way it went for John Tay, he was
disclosing confidential information to sports betters and he also wagered
(04:59):
on games that he participating in. So the NBA was like, hey,
how about you never step foot on an NBA court
again as a player. How about that John Tay banned
for life? See you he gone? Now the other way
it could go. Terry Rozier, So at the time, Scary Terry.
(05:20):
He was a member of the Charlotte Hornets and there
were some unusual betting patterns surrounding him in a March
twenty twenty three game that he was playing in. But
Rosier hasn't been charged with any crime and he hasn't
faced any sanctions from the NBA. So you see these
(05:41):
two paths that potentially Malik Beasley could end up on.
One of them behind door number one was Terry Rozier,
no penalties, no charges. All good, Continue your NBA career
as just something that popped up on the radar, some
weird betting pattern, but you're cleared. It's basically where it
(06:02):
is right now. John tay Porter, all right, unusual betting pattern,
something's weird. Let's investigate. Oh you were giving inside information.
Oh you were betting on these games. You were participating
in your banned for life. So it could go one
of two very different ways from Malik Beasley. And it's
(06:23):
interesting because people are they're looking at the highlights from
his past games and we're like, wait a minute, you
didn't really go for that rebound right there. Anything that
doesn't quite pass the smell test. And think about this now,
because you're looking at all these highlights from a different perspective.
You're looking at any if you're watching the game. You
(06:44):
might not think anything of it. You might be like, hey,
he just didn't get that rebound er. He missed that
open you know, fifteen foot shot. That happens. But now
that there's a federal investigation, like people are going through
all of his videos and they're like, whoa, this looks
a little shady. How do you explain this exactly? So
(07:09):
we'll see, we'll see if Malika gets through this. But
I'll tell you this, this is what I do know.
I'm a sports better, but I do not understand the
logic or the fascination with sports betting to the point
where it could cost you a forty two million dollar
contract extension. I'll tell you this, and your unless you're
(07:32):
one of the sharpest of the sharp betters, which most
likely you're not. Most people aren't. Like overwhelmingly people end
up on the losing side of sports betting. So unless
you are just gifted beyond belief as a sports better,
you're probably not gonna make anywhere near millions and millions
(07:55):
of dollars. Like, why would you risk your career in
a steddy paycheck to gamble on whatever you're gambling on.
That's just crazy And I'm not saying Maleak did that.
I'm just saying for any athlete that is willing to
risk his or her contract because they want to do
some sports betting, it's like, bro, take the sure bet.
(08:19):
You're a professional basketball player. Just take the paychecks. Man. Like,
you don't need to gamble on the Padres Phillies game.
You could do that legally, but you definitely don't need
to bet on NBA games, especially NBA games that you're
playing in. They're gonna find out and you're gonna get
the eve ho. I don't know why you would take
(08:39):
a chance like that, but a lot of athletes do.
I don't get it. Don't get it. Okay, that's promise.
Let's get to the militia here. Eight seven, seven ninety
nine on Fox is the number. I believe our guy
John in La is back with us. He ran away,
he ran back, John, what's going on, buddy, you're on
Fox Sports Radio. Maybe he didn't run back, Maybe he
(09:03):
ran away again.
Speaker 3 (09:05):
M Oh my goodness, John.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
I don't think. I don't think it's gonna work out
with John tonight. I don't think it's I don't think
it's in the cards. Yeah, we got Danny Danny is
in Boston. What's going on? Danny?
Speaker 4 (09:17):
Hey, what's up? Brian? So mister new has been out
last couple of weeks, random days off which he's been
doing that? Huh?
Speaker 2 (09:27):
I think so, I hope. So, I don't know. I
can't tell you for sure, but I think it's just
summer days off here and there is my guess.
Speaker 4 (09:35):
Yeah, so I want to talk to you about the
gambling with these plays? Is that chill time? Brian? Do
you know so this guy's uh, what's his name name?
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Malik Beasley? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (09:47):
Is there any jail time? Was just you know, a
slapping the wretch?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
I well, I don't believe it's gonna be jail time.
I don't know that for sure, but I don't believe. So.
I don't think John tay Porter is doing any ja
old time. He's just banned for life. So I think
it's more that. I think it's you're just gonna get
hit in the wallet like crazy like Malik Beasley. Could
he's gonna make millions and millions of dollars the rest
(10:12):
of his career.
Speaker 4 (10:13):
Yeah, yeah, it doesn't make any sense. And uh, they
got st told these guys in jail. I think I
don't know doing that, that's going to ruin the whole
game of all four sports.
Speaker 5 (10:25):
Of doing that.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, yeah, I mean that's interesting point.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
But I'm calling because, as you know, I think you know,
I'm a garbage man to veto over here in Boston,
and there's a big company that I went on strike
two hours ago. So I want to wish those guys
the best pay services. I don't know if you guys
have them out there. We got four hundred guys over
here out on the street now, Bryan, Yeah, twelve o'clock.
(10:54):
So it's a pretty serious news story over here. So
and that's what's going on as right now over here
in Blots.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
So I hope it works out, man.
Speaker 6 (11:04):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I just think about the weather in that area. You know,
that's a rough job. But yeah, the top of it.
Speaker 4 (11:10):
Yeah, it's hot right now. It's gonna be even hotter
in a couple hours. And those guys are all over there.
There's street different yards over there that are going on strike.
And it's pretty serious news as of right now.
Speaker 2 (11:22):
All right, you know it's funny, Danny. I'll tell you
a quick story. So, oh gosh, could you look it up?
The name? I can never remember this guy's name, but
the singer of a band named Stained. He's gone country
and I did an interview with him one time, but
(11:43):
I can't I can never Aaron Lewis there, you go,
very talented singer. But the way it works in like
local radio. I was in New York at the time.
It was in Albany, New York. Shout out a great
area to do sports radio. It's a great area sports wise,
passionate fans all that. But if a guy comes by
(12:04):
the station, like you got all these different stations, and
so if someone stops by the rock station or the
country station or the rap station whatever, they'll they'll be like, hey,
so and so stopped in. You want to you want
to interview this person? And a lot of times it's
like yeah, sure, why not. So they asked me if
you want to interview Aaron Lewis, and I'm like, yeah, absolutely,
(12:25):
And so I'll never forget. I asked Aaron just to
comm and like, hey, how's everything going.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Man?
Speaker 2 (12:30):
He had a kid, I want to say it was
a daughter in the Boston area and Aaron Lewis, out
of nowhere, just goes on this rant about zoning issues
and how he wanted his daughter to go to one
school and she wasn't allowed to and she had to
go to this other school. But anyway, what you're telling
me about, you know, the garbage strike, it made me
(12:53):
think of Aaron Lewis going off on Boston zoning issues.
So hopefully, hopefully those have been ironed out since that
time though.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
Yeah, definitely. So, Brian, what do you have a second job?
I mean this, uh well, I know it's kind of
personal question, but I was curious about that. I mean,
I know you're a failing guy, but you got a
second job do with this, So I'm just you know,
I would just make the payments.
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Yeah, yeah, No, I get by with Fox. I do
my Saturday Sunday thing and just fill in. I fill
in at a lot of like local stations like Indianapolis
sometimes Milwaukee, just random places here and there.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
So still got a good deal, Yeah, I got a
good deal going on there.
Speaker 2 (13:34):
Yeah. Yeah, but I'd like to get something more steady
in the week, you know, like I was doing a
local and Portland for about three years, so I would
like to find something more steady during the week.
Speaker 4 (13:45):
But no, eventually, maybe eventually it's gonna come yeah, time
and time, my friends.
Speaker 2 (13:50):
There you go. I appreciate that, Danny good stuff.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
No, bro, hey, and there's a there was a random
call a lot week about misteets in there. There was
Lorraina there, and there's nothing fake about uh Lorraina Peterson.
I don't know who the woman was, but Lorraina Peterson
is uh is not fake. Somebody from I forgot her name.
Speaker 1 (14:11):
But something you talking about Tammy and Montana, that girl
with the cows.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
I just I don't know what that was all bout.
I don't know what that was all about. But I
never heard her before, and I listened to the show
a lot, as you know. So, but there's nothing fake
about you.
Speaker 2 (14:28):
Absolutely very nice, all right, Danny good stuff. Man, appreciate
the call. Yeah I might. I might have to find
a side gig that has good health benefits. The whole thing, man, wow,
the whole thing. That's all I know is uh, finding
like decent health insurance post stroke. That the easiest things.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
Because now you're a flight risk.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
Right yeah, yeah, because it's funny. So I won't tell
you the whole story because you know, I don't want
it to be long and drawn out. But I had
a stroke on May fifth, and I had this like
cheap kind of like get me by insurance, right, and
it's only like a four month plan, and so that
ran out at the beginning of June. So I have
(15:13):
to sign up for a new short term policy. And
I talked to this broker and the guy was like, hey,
you can't do the same thing you did because you've
done it X amount of times and you have to
take it a year long policy. I'm like, okay. He's like, man,
you can't find the similar policy because you have a
pre existing condition, right, you had a stroke, so you're
(15:34):
gonna be eliminated from some of these policies. So he's like,
I found something that's really close, really close to what
you just had. I'm like, all right, sounds good, sign
me up for that. So I had to go to
the cardiologist a couple of weeks ago and I'm trying
to give them my insurance number and they're running it
and they're like, yeah, nothing's showing up. I got nothing.
(15:55):
So I call and I'm like, so, what's the deal.
What number do I give them? And the lady says,
so your new health insurance it doesn't work like your
old health insurance at all. The way this new one
works is we don't cover office visits, we don't do
anything like that. I'm like, we're off to a bad start.
Oh no, And she's like, yeah, you just pay the
(16:18):
whole bill and then you mail us a copy and
we might pay some of it. And I'm like, that
sounds awful. That doesn't even sound like insurance. And so
i'd like, I told the cardio the cardiologist, I'm like,
I'm gonna have to reschedule until I work out my
health insurance stuff here. This is freaking crazy. I'm not
(16:40):
paying out of pocket. You realize how much money that
could be.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
That's wild.
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Yeah, So I don't know, I might have to be
a blackjack dealer out here or something.
Speaker 3 (16:49):
Yeah, an insurance as a scam.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Yeah, that's that's pretty rough. So we're figuring it out.
It'll be all right. But yeah, with Danny asking that question,
I might need to find, uh, you know, maybe like
Ariya needs, say a new Life card or something. I
don't know, I gotta find something with possible good health benefits.
It'll work out. It's no big deal, all right. Coming
up next, it's about way more than just talent. So
(17:15):
Why does the conversation always revolve around just talent? I
don't get it. I'll lay it out for you. Maybe
you'll be on board. We'll see. I'm Brian no in
for Big Ben Mallor keep it locked right here on
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 2 (18:00):
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian though in for
Big Ben Mallard. Good poll by you, Lorena? You kidding me?
The nWo days you know me? New to New New
World Order. Those storylines were fantastic back then. I love
that era of pro wrestling.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
It was great, Okay, I lied, it was bree bre
did this.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
Good job by Bree, Thank you, thank you, outstanding job.
I don't know any pro wrestling fans that just despise
that era. It was so good, such a good era. Hey.
For over forty years, Tirack has been helping customers find
the right tires for how, what and where they drive,
ship fast and free back by free road hazard protection
(18:42):
with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tirack dot Com.
The way tire buying should be. Okay. So again, let
me lay something out and I'll get to the militia here.
So Big Ben Roethlisberger, he's got his podcas cast Footballing
with Ben Roethlisberger. I love that, you know, like spelled
(19:06):
like a Pittsburgh whole vibe. It's really cool. I like
the name of it. And he threw out a take
that's gotten a lot of traction. He's opting for Prime
Rogers over another big name quarterback. Check this out with
Big Ben.
Speaker 8 (19:21):
Well, I would take Aaron and his prime over over
Patrick Now, I think, I think, yeah, I think Aaron
Rodgers at his prime was one of the top few
to ever do it. And so with Patrick Mahomes his prime,
Patrick Mahomes is just just like entering out of his prime.
Speaker 2 (19:37):
I think, I like, I like. I just like the
way the argument is laid out, because he's he's making
his argument for Aaron Rodgers, and then he's like, well,
you could say the same thing about Patrick Mahomes. Right,
It's not a great argument. It'd be like saying, all right,
would you rather have a Lamborghini or a Porsche, And
(19:59):
you're like, oh, dude, Lamborghini all day. You can do
zero to sixty and like two seconds flat. Get now,
you could do the same thing with a Porsche. But
the Lamborghini all day. It's like, that's not a great argument, man,
if it applies to the other guy too. Here's my
argument with why I would go with Mahomes currently over
(20:21):
prime Aaron Rodgers and prime Aaron Rodgers was a freaking
baller prime Aaron Rodgers because Stephen A always says was
a bad man. He was, He was an absolutely bad man.
But here's the deal. I don't know why. I don't
know why when we're talking about Aaron Rodgers it's almost
(20:45):
solely about his talent, and I'm pulling my hair out.
I'm like, it's more than just talent. Granted. Aaron Rodgers
in his prime incredibly talented. The guy could throw off platform,
could buy time, get out of the pocket, make special
(21:06):
plays happen, use his athleticism. He was a really, really
special quarterback. But it's not just about talent. It's a
team game. It's the ultimate team game. So I don't
know why we only make it about talent individual numbers.
You know what your stats are. It's not just about
(21:28):
stats and talent. If you look at prime Rogers versus
current Mahomes, something that's outside of talent, that's outside of stats.
It's just the intangibles. Ask yourself this, who's better for
your football team? Who's better for it? Have you ever
(21:50):
heard anybody say man Mahomes he's high maintenance, he's a diva,
he's hard to get along with, he's a distraction at times.
Have you ever heard anyone say those things about Mahomes. No,
you haven't, because he's not those things. Aaron Rodgers has
been all of those things at various stages of his career.
(22:11):
He has been high maintenance, he has been hard to
get along with. He has been a distraction at times
with his constant media tours. You know what I mean like,
Aaron Rodgers is a guy, although incredibly talented, although incredibly
productive at many times, has made winning harder. It's hard
(22:31):
enough to win in the NFL at a high rate.
You don't need anyone making it harder. And Rogers has
done that repeatedly in his NFL career, including his prime
And so this idea of well, man, you're just look
at how talented he is. I'm like, it's more than
just talent. Why are we making it solely about talent.
(22:55):
No one's arguing. No one's saying, Hi, Rodgers, wasn't that talented.
I don't know why no one says that? Right, Like,
I don't. It goes back to I keep thinking about
the top one hundred list in the NFL. Theyd always
come out with a new one each year. How many
(23:15):
years was Aaron Rodgers ranked ahead of Tom Brady, like
on a routine basis, and it was the same. Oh
you look at Rogers, I mean, just talent wise, are
you telling me tom Brady's more talented than Aaron Rodgers?
I gotta put Rogers ahead of Tom Brady? Bad bad, bad,
bad bad. It's like, bro, look how that works out.
(23:36):
You take Rogers and his talent and have fun with that.
I'll take Brady and his lack of Rogers talent, and
I'll have seven rings at the end of the day.
I'll go on that expressway. Thank you. You can take
your Aaron Rodgers scenic route. We'll call it the Talent Expressway,
(23:56):
you know, the talent pch If you will, do you
go on that road to the tune of one super
Bowl and some high maintenance diva tendencies, and you have
fun with the talent. You have fun with the individual numbers.
You know, I got a stack of rings over here,
and you just want to make it about talent. Like
same thing with Brady. Granted he was not more talented
(24:19):
than Aaron Rodgers, But which would you rather have? Would
you have Rogers and his talent or Brady and his
lesser talent? But being a competitive maniac completely like dedicating
himself to a meticulous diet and preparation, all of those things,
(24:40):
getting the absolute best out of the abilities he had,
being a team guy. When was Tom Brady a diva?
When was he high maintenance, just a distraction, hard to
get along with? When was he any of those things?
What are we talking about here? It drives me insane,
just like I said then, year in and year out, like, oh,
(25:04):
I gotta put Rogers number one. It is a talent.
The things that this guy can do. Yeah, it's like
one of these things where it's like high school football
in a way. You know, you'd have like your biggest,
strongest dude get off the bus first, and the other
team's like, whoa holy cow? Right, that sort of thing.
I get that. We ow and ah about Rogers' talent
(25:25):
in his prime years, but a lot of people take
it way too far based solely on that. It's like,
what do you have to show for it? At the
end of the day, what is it? What are we
doing this for? Is it just a talent competition? Or
(25:46):
is it to win? Sometimes a lesser talented player is
a better winner. Wouldn't you make it more about winning
than talent? I would I don't know, man, Like you
could do that with the NFL Draft, we just had
(26:06):
I get talent. These players are gonna go high if
they're incredibly talented. But listen, there have been plenty of
talented players throughout the years that were not great at winning,
and there are some lesser talented players that were fantastic
at winning, got the most out of their abilities. Like,
I don't know, we just we were talking about Dolphins
(26:27):
uniforms earlier this evening call her checked in. I think
it was e Dog. We were doing a guessing game,
like what Dolphins uniform he had. But it made me
think of Zach Thomas. Like, Zach Thomas was not this
outstandingly talented player. Right, He's a fifth round pick, a
little undersized, a little slower, like just raw talent. There's
(26:51):
a reason he went in the fifth round. Okay, he's
one of the best players in Dolphins franchise history. Guy
had great eight instincts, outstanding linebacker, great winner, all across
the board. Like, so that's the thing. You might have
the more talented first round pick, but yet a team
that goes with a fifth rounder that's got better instincts,
(27:14):
that is just a more competitive maniac that gets the
most out of their ability, You're better off in the
long run with the lesser talented guy. It happens all
the time in the NFL. So I don't know why
we're just so beholden to the talent thing when it
comes to Rogers. I don't get that. Don't get it.
So I would not agree with with Big Ben right there.
(27:37):
I would take current Mahomes all day, who's got three
times the rings as Rogers, who's been every bit as talented.
It's not like there's a separation between prime Rogers and
current Mahomes in the talent department. Mahomes does crazy things
on a routine basis. He's throwing left handed passes, he's
doing behind the back stuff like, he's doing wild things.
(28:01):
Like he's outstandingly talented as productive individual stats wise, and
he's got much more to show for it in terms
of rings. So I you can have Rogers, and I'm
not gonna sell him short. I don't mean to. I'm
not trying to. I'm just saying it's more than just talent.
(28:23):
Consider more than just talent. My gosh, but that's what
a lot of people do. They do it time and
time again. Don't get that all right? Eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox is the phone number. Let's get
the militia in here. My guy Poppy is in San Diego.
I need some locks on the show. Poppy, what is
going on? Buddy?
Speaker 6 (28:44):
You gotta hear your friend. You're gonna have some luck.
You might got some good tints for you how to
make some money. You know on sports setting, you're like,
don't do it too much. Parlais you know, do it
for fun, do straight bet tony because the parlais long
term you're gonna lose money, you know, so you don't
want to do that. And uh, the tip I can
give you, I know you're gonna be going. I can't
wait to hear your poker turnament with Cooper, you know,
(29:06):
oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 7 (29:08):
So.
Speaker 6 (29:10):
The tip I could give you always trust your gut.
So when you're going right there, like don't feel their energy,
don't get intimided of no one. Have confidence on there.
Speaker 4 (29:19):
You're gonna do good.
Speaker 6 (29:21):
Like trust your gut, like your first instinct. Like when
we're doing the sports betting, we're hearing all these people.
There's experts that say business and that Like me, I'm
going to give you guys pick and you guys are
gonna love it. And you know you just got to
trust your guard and for for the picks I got,
I got some pick for you.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
What do you got for me?
Speaker 6 (29:41):
The Dodgers are going to play the white sauce right
and and young my most I really love him.
Speaker 7 (29:46):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (29:47):
The Dodgers kind of struggle when he's on the mound,
they don't win by much and someday lose. I just
have a feeling tomorrow, I'm going with the gut right here,
they're playing at home, but he's going to be happy
with this. I'm going to take the home seeing the
Dodgers and they're gonna win by over two point five runs.
That's even money. So that that's a good one right there.
(30:07):
And I know a lot of people are bashing I
got another pick the Mets, right, A lot of people
are bashing the Mets, and they're doing better, and I
think they're gonna finally lose that like when they're gonna
stop that losing streak, and we're gonna go with the Mets,
right minus one twenty one. That's really great line, right,
And and the revenge game. Revenge game was who the
(30:32):
Pads are gonna play? Playing against the Phillies. Everyone, the
whole world's gonna be like Phillies, Phillies. Yeah, uh, you
know my men'sor Ben Maller told me the other night
to say the padres so in his honor, we're gonna
take him.
Speaker 4 (30:44):
When the whole world's.
Speaker 6 (30:45):
Against the Padres plus one. That's my wild man. Guys
said that you want to They have a great picture
on the mound with Pabita. I believe Pavita. So I'm
really loving that one. And I get save the best
for a lot of people want to hear in the America.
Let's talk about soccer tomorrow, Real Much Rid. One of
the best teams that you're up in is Spain against
(31:07):
your van Tools and that gn's gonna be a nerdy one. Guys,
I'm really liking Real Much Rid at one fifteen. That's
good value. So those are my thanks, Brian. What are
you thinking?
Speaker 2 (31:17):
Okay? All right, I like what you're laying out here. Uh, Poppy,
you're busy here, Like I don't want to go against
your initial advice. But we got a four leg parlay here.
That's right. You know, it's on a t right. You
don't want to combine all this stuff together. It sounds
like a four and oh.
Speaker 6 (31:36):
Well, you know, I think I'll be four and oh.
But I'll always tell you, guys, just a straight fans.
Speaker 2 (31:43):
I hear, no, I got you, I got you on
that poppy good stuff.
Speaker 7 (31:48):
Man.
Speaker 2 (31:48):
I appreciate hearing from you. I'll tell you what I've
normally been in Jacob de Gram under auto mode. You know,
Jacob de Gram is going for the Rangers, and man,
he's been sensational and a lot of his games. The
underhits going up against the Orioles total is only seven.
(32:09):
It's just it's low. It's low, but Orioles Ranger. I
haven't been able to dive fully into that game, but
initially just scrolling through it, it's one I have my
eye on. But Popu laid out all of his picks.
Good stuff right there. Okay, coming up, I'll throw the poker,
the Vegas Poker story with with Coop your way and uh,
(32:34):
let me just say, manage your expectations on how how
it played out. Okay, let's manage the expectator. Let's bring
it down, like do you want to bracelet No, Let's
let's bring it down a little bit, a little bit,
just a little bit, and uh I'll hopefully not greatly
disappoint you guys. Uh So I'll show that with you
(32:55):
and we'll get to the militia, some people lined up.
We'll go rapid fire. I'm not gonna tease anything. We're
gona go straight to go poker. Story calls boom, that's
what you get. I'm probably no in for Big Ben Maller.
Keep it locked right here on Fox.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Be sure to catch live editions of The Ben Maller
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific.
Speaker 2 (33:13):
I'm probably no in for Big Ben Maller. We're broadcasting
live from the Fox Sports Radio studios. For over forty years,
Tyrak has been helping customers find the right tires for how,
what and where they drive. Ship fast and free, backed
by free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like
mobile tire installation tiraq dot com the way tire buying
should be. Yeah, So I got to see Coop a
(33:37):
couple of days ago. Justin Cooper, big Ben Mallar producer.
He's out here in Vegas doing all the poker tournaments.
I actually got. I grabbed some food with Kat with
his girl. So's the three of us. That was a
lot of fun fun. Oh had a Uh Where'd I
have a pulled pork sandwich? I think is what?
Speaker 7 (33:58):
I had?
Speaker 2 (33:59):
Delicious? Wherever we were?
Speaker 3 (34:00):
Yeah? Which hotel were you guys in?
Speaker 2 (34:03):
He's fond of the MGM stuff.
Speaker 3 (34:06):
That's where you met up.
Speaker 2 (34:07):
Yeah, it was someplace in there, very good.
Speaker 3 (34:11):
He likes the sports bar that's in there.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
You know, it might have been the same one, might
have been.
Speaker 3 (34:15):
Yeah, yeah, it's probably the sports bar.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
It's funny because I asked the guy. I was like,
could you It's gonna sound weird, but could you get
the w NBA game on?
Speaker 3 (34:23):
Oh you did not?
Speaker 2 (34:24):
I did. Katon Cooper's just laughing at me, and he
has his sheet, Lorraine. He has this whole sheet. This
guy was great and he's like, I don't know, man,
can you see it listed? Because I don't see it.
Maybe I'm missing it, And I'm like thumbing through all
these pages and it's everything under the sun. It's literally cricket.
(34:46):
It's like darts. It's all this random stuff. No w
NBA nowhere to be. I'm like, wow, that league.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
And yet they're adding how many more teams?
Speaker 2 (34:56):
Five more teams in the next five years. You gotta
get some very common stuff ironed out.
Speaker 3 (35:02):
Supply and demand doesn't seem to be matching here.
Speaker 2 (35:05):
Yeah, come on, w we gotta get this going. But Coop,
he talked me into playing in a poker tournament, so
it was this Texas hold him. It's called the Gladiator Tournament.
I don't know why. I have no idea why, but
I'm like, what's the buy in? Give me like a
cheaper buy in. He's like, this is one of the
cheaper ones. It's three hundred dollars. I'm like three three
(35:25):
hundred dollars for the buy in. Coop, what the hell?
He's like, no, dude, that's pretty cheap. That's actually pretty affordable.
You might want to do that one. And Coop made
it to the second day and I'm like, all right,
So I was doing my Day one tournament and like,
there's a chance if I survive, we could be heads
up and like the same poker table, right Like He's like, yeah,
(35:46):
it's possible. So I did not survive day one. My
goal was to win a hand and survive to the
next break. You know, it's like baby.
Speaker 3 (35:57):
Goals, baby steps, baby step.
Speaker 2 (35:59):
Now. I was just gonna to add more baby goals
along the way, you know. So good news. I did
win a hand. It was the most uneventful hand of
all time. It was me and this lady next to me.
No one bet the whole time, turn River, no bets, nothing,
and we checked it all the way. I had ace
(36:20):
high and wan she had King Queen and I laughed
and I said, that was uneventful, you know, but I won.
I won like blinds, that's it. And I made a
couple of mistakes. The mistake I made was not being
aggressive enough one hand, like I had Ace King flopped
an ace and I just bet twelve hundred. So you
(36:41):
get thirty thousand dollars in chips. It's just your chip stack.
So I bet twelve hundred. Turn comes, I bet another
twelve hundred. That was my mistake. I let this guy just.
Speaker 3 (36:53):
Walk away and keep your thirty thousand chips.
Speaker 2 (36:56):
You would lose, you would be out of the tournament.
There'd be no point to doing. Yeah, it's not actual money,
it's just your chip stack, you know. So you're trying
to survive as long as possible in this tournament. And
the longer you survive, the more money you can make,
you know. And so Coop made it today. Two he won,
(37:16):
you know, just under fifteen hundred bucks. I think, okay,
pretty good. So he bought in twice. He one just
under a thousand bucks roughly for this tournament. Very nice,
nice cash. I did not I let this guy see
a river card and he hit two pair, so I
was I wasn't aggressive enough. Lorena and Bree off after
the turn.
Speaker 3 (37:36):
Don't you know that one chair be aggressive, b aggressive.
Speaker 2 (37:41):
You gotta gotta be more aggressive. You can't let these
dirtbags see a fifth card that could do you in.
That's what happened to me. But Lesson learned. I'll be
back whenever.
Speaker 3 (37:50):
You do it again.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
Absolutely I would. It was fun. It was a lot
of fun, and you learn real quickly. You learn very
very fast. Okay, I've been yacking enough. Let me get
to the molle sit here. Let's go to uh, Let's
go to Mike the Leprechaun. I always been flying. What's
going on? Mike? Cover things?
Speaker 9 (38:09):
I'm down the street. I'm in Ventura Boulevard right now.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Is it beautiful? Is everything you wished it would be?
Is it beautiful? Is it majestical that it is?
Speaker 7 (38:21):
It's very nice, It's actually all the people have been
very friendly. But I'm tired because my flight was delayed twice,
so I've been up twenty seven hours. So Ben is
Ben going to be there tomorrow? And Bell?
Speaker 2 (38:35):
Yeah, Ben's back tomorrow.
Speaker 7 (38:38):
Oh my god.
Speaker 9 (38:39):
I hope they like Boston tam Chotter. Do you like Boston,
Sam Shutter, I've.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Never had it. Big Ben might be in the market
for that, Big Ben, you know.
Speaker 9 (38:48):
Yeah, I'm a rambler, a gambler. I'm a long way
from home. Lets you don't like me, just leave me alone.
Speaker 6 (38:56):
Clareena, don't see you.
Speaker 2 (38:58):
And it's nice.
Speaker 9 (39:02):
So it's sad to hear about your heart condition.
Speaker 7 (39:04):
That was that's a bad story.
Speaker 2 (39:06):
Oh thank you.
Speaker 9 (39:08):
Yeah, it's not bad that you had a heart condition,
but it's bad the way they treated you the insurance.
Speaker 2 (39:14):
Yeah, it's just the yeah, yeah, not a good situation.
I'll get it ironed out. Mike. I appreciate that, buddy.
Speaker 6 (39:20):
Yeah. So Rogers Rogers is bonkers, Yeah he is.
Speaker 4 (39:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (39:27):

Speaker 9 (39:28):
