Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh what is going on?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I hope your early morning hours are going in a
fantastic direction. I want to get to NFL training camp
here to open up this hour, because listen, it happens
every single year. We're just you know, we're drooling, we're
scratching our next. We need an NFL fix, we need
we need ball to return, you know. So it's the

(00:23):
season of hype, it's the season of buzz. And so
my question is, with all the buzz that is out there,
what are you buying and what are you selling in
terms of having staying power? Right, Like, this is going
to translate not just from training camp, but it's going
to translate to the regular season.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
It's going to apply and it.

Speaker 2 (00:46):
Might be positive buzz, might be some negative buzz, but
what do you think is real?

Speaker 1 (00:53):
What are you buying? What are you selling?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
So first there's some there's some negative buzz if you will,
about Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Now this was on Cowherd's show.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
He interviewed Diana Rossini earlier this week of the Athletic
and they were talking about JJ McCarthy, and it was
really interesting what both of them had to say. Well,
you'll hear from Coyle heard he's basically saying, my sources
are telling me like this guy's a little shaky at times.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
And then you hear these reports that are just glowing like,
oh man, this guy is amazing.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
WHOA.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
So listen to what Cowherd and Diana Rossini say about
their inside information when it comes to JJ McCarthy maybe
differing from like the outside buzz.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
If you will check this out.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
I've had many of the same pro football sources for
a long time, and what I hear about JJ McCarthy
isn't what I hear sometimes reported. There is this almost
protective bubble or sort of an elevation of what he's doing,
and it's not what I'm hearing that there are real
concerns from last year on what I'm marrying on JJ

(02:10):
McCarthy not instill confidence.

Speaker 5 (02:13):
I think what you're pointing to it sounds like what
you've noticed is maybe something that I've noticed too, is
there is a lot of lifting up of JJ McCarthy.
Do I think JJ McCarthy is wowing everyone at training camp?

Speaker 4 (02:26):
No, I don't.

Speaker 5 (02:28):
Yes, I get why the organization is going, Oh my gosh,
JJ McCarthy. And if you follow anything Vikings related, you
would think this guy is the next biggest quarterback to play,
and I think they're going to be disappointed because there's
going to be a natural period of time where he's
just got to catch up.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Okay, so we'll just say the buzz from what you
heard just right there between cow Herd and Diana Russini.
Do you buy the buzz according to their sources that
oh maybe JJ McCarthy not exactly killing it the way
maybe the hype videos or the way the Vikings are

(03:08):
saying he is. Do you buy that aspect of it?
I actually do, like really just cut through it and say,
what are you expecting from JJ McCarthy this season. I
think he's gonna have ups and downs. I think he's
gonna struggle at times. I think the supporting cast for
JJ McCarthy, I think it's the gift in the curse.

(03:29):
I think, on one hand, it's a blessing to be
surrounded by as much talent as he's surrounded by. It's
a very talented roster, and that's great, it's fantastic. What
that is a first year starting quarterback, you want to
be surrounded by Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison when he
comes back from the suspension, and TJ Hockinson, and you know,

(03:50):
we've got Aaron Jones in the backfield. Okay, surround me
by as much talent as possible. But the curse is
that there are expects patients from day one.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
I don't believe anybody who.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Says, no, no, we're gonna be patient, We're gonna give
him some grace. He's a first year starter. I don't
buy that at all. This is a team that won
fourteen games last season. They were a win away the
final regular season game of the year from being the
one seed in the NFC, and they crashed and burned

(04:25):
against Detroit and then they were even worse in the
playoff loss to the Rams. But the point is this
is a team like they're at go mode. They're talking
about a three year window to really compete for a
super Bowl while JJ McCarthy is on this rookie deal
and they're gonna build around him as much as possible.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
They're thrown around.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
The words super Bowl, right, So it is time to produce.
It is time to hit the treadmill running in terms
of your production and the team winning.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
And that is that's a lot to ask for a
first year starter.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Just think how much it differs between JJ McCarthy and
the number one overall pick this past year, that's cam
Ward over with the Tennessee Titans. Is he expected to
win right away? Is expected to produce right away? Like
are we talking super Bowl window the neck? No, none
of those things apply to cam Ward. And so you

(05:25):
can ease in a lot. There's no easing in with
JJ McCarthy in terms of the expectations, and I think
that is incredibly challenging. And this is also a quarterback.
Let's not have amnesia going back to Michigan or talk
about talking about their running game and their defense, and
he's handing off a lot, and so there are a

(05:46):
lot of people that were skeptical of him anyway heading
into the NFL, and I think a lot of people
have gotten amnesia because he's with the Vikings. And Kevin
O'Connell is a bright offensive mind, and you saw Sam
Darnold revive his career, and I think there's this thought that, hey,
Kevin O'Connell, he can kind of.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
Make it work with anyone.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
He's just such a bright offensive mind, great schemer, great
play caller, does all these things puts the quarterback in
the best position to succeed. This at the end of
the day, is still a first year starter. Sam Darnold
had his bumps along the way, but think about that,
starting as many games as he did with the Jets

(06:27):
and bouncing around the league and taking his lumps and
learning on the job.

Speaker 1 (06:33):
He had a lot.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Of seasoning before last season with the Vikings, and so
that's something that JJ McCarthy does not have. He has
no NFL experience whatsoever. He has not played in a
regular season game. Everything is preseason and training camp.

Speaker 1 (06:52):
That's it.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
That's all he's got under his belt. That differs greatly
from Sam Darnold last season. So I think there's this,
you know, either conscious or subconscious thought of like, hey,
freaking Sam Donald revived his career. Sam Donald threw thirty
five touchdown passes. JJ McCarthy should be fine. I've read
things where hey, this should be an upgrade from Sam Darnald.

(07:15):
I'm like, and year one, yeah, right, there's almost no
chance it's going to be an upgrade in terms of
the production. Maybe the last two weeks where the wheels
fall off the tracks for Sam Donald. Maybe it'll be
an improvement from that. But I do not see JJ
McCarthy throwing for over thirty five touchdown passes. That's that

(07:36):
is not gonna happen as a first year started, not
with him. This isn't Mahomes or someone like that. So
I buy JJ McCarthy being a little bit iffy this season,
having his pumps along the way.

Speaker 1 (07:48):
And I'm not a.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
Huge believer in the Vikings either. When you have a
first year starter, I know the head coaches bright, I
know the sporting cast is fantastic, but first year starters
are mostly gonna take some lumps along the way. You
gotta be really really special to not struggle repeatedly as
a first year starter.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
It can happen.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
Jayden Daniels was magnificent last year, but man, I just
I'm not huge on the Vikings. I'm not huge on
JJ McCarthy. Okay, so what else? That's not the only buzz?
What else is out there? I'm not gonna spend much
time on this, But I didn't find it funny because
I talked about this in decent amount on last night's show.
But Bear's quarterback Caleb Williams, Okay, so do you buy

(08:33):
the hype, the buzz of, like, oh, throwing into the
net in training camp, he missed a couple of throws.
He was frustrated.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Do you buy it?

Speaker 2 (08:40):
Whoa red flag here? Do you buy the reason I
bring this up? There was another video from practice on
Wednesday and he aired it out to Roma doonsay, great
throw along the sideline? And it was just I kind
of laughed to myself because I'm like, whatever your opinion
is of Caleb Williams.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
If you're just not buying him.

Speaker 2 (08:59):
A lot of those people will point to things like, oh,
the throwing net video, like whoa red flag confirmed over here?
And it's like, that's not confirmation, man, It's just not. Like.
There's a video that I saw it floating around. I
don't know how long ago it was, but it was
of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and he's trying to.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Throw a baseball.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
He's kind of like in a batting cage type I
don't know deal, and he's just trying to throw the baseball.
There's this little target and he's like trying to throw it.
He can't quite get it, and they he's thrown it
way left. No one's gonna be like, whoa red flag?
He's throwing a baseball. Joe Burrow is legit, He's put

(09:41):
up numbers for years. No one's freaking out over that.
The issue is with Caleb Williams. He hasn't put up
numbers for years, and so something as stupid as a
training camp video I'm throwing the ball into a net
is going to be blown out of context.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Like are blown out of proportion?

Speaker 2 (09:55):
I mean, I'm not buying any of that buzz like
whoa another red flag? Gotta sell this. I think he's
incredibly talented. He's going to be better this season. It
might be noticeably better than his rookie season. Got more
weapons around him, better offensive line, bright offensive mind. Did
not have a bright offensive mind around him last season.
So I think he's gonna be better, noticeably better, maybe

(10:19):
even like whoa better.

Speaker 1 (10:21):
I still believe in Caleb Williams. Now another one.

Speaker 2 (10:24):
There's some buzz here Packers wide receiver Matthew Golden. Sorry
all these are NFC North related.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
I didn't realize that until now, but you know how
it is.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
Training camp videos some of the players are raving about him,
saying he's borderline unguardable and he looks quick running some
exceptional routes, and so do you buy the buzz that, Hey, man,
the Packers have found wide receiver one. This could be
their guy. I actually am buying it. I don't buy

(10:56):
that he's borderline unguardable, like that's that's a bit far,
that's a bit much, right, I'm not buying that. But
in terms of his quickness, his route running, I absolutely
think he's gonna be a legit wide receiver one for
the Packers. I think he could have a really good
rookie season. So I'm optimistic about Matthew Golden, the first

(11:17):
round pick for the Packers.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
There this was funny too.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Falcons quarterback Michael Pennix Junior. Now you want buzz this
is something he might be buzzed maybe with this comment
about the Falcons offense.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
So this is.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Normal, you know, player speak for like twenty seconds and
then at the end it's like, wait, what what is here?
You go it's Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Junior talking about
his offense.

Speaker 3 (11:45):
The skill level is there, you know, it's about you know,
making it happen. Now, you know, we the ones that's
out there on the field, you know, coach is gonna
call call a place for us to.

Speaker 6 (11:53):
You know, be great, and we got to go out
there and do it.

Speaker 3 (11:55):
And I could see those guys doing each and every
day and man, it's only it's only gonna you to
get better by the time week one come. I can
see us on the road and we should that should
stop us from being the best offense in the league.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Whoa, wait a minute, whoa, whoa. It's like the record
skipped right there at the end. I was zoning out.
It's just white noise at first, where it's like, yeah,
the players, call the players, it's all the players. We
got to execute, we gotta yeah, and then it's like,
I don't know why we can't be the number one offense.

Speaker 1 (12:23):
In the league.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
And it's like, whoa, we went to mock five right,
their best offense in the league.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
What do you buy that buzz?

Speaker 7 (12:32):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (12:32):
No, I would be selling that buzz immediately. And look,
it's not like they don't have playmakers. You got top
ten picks all over the place. But again, can you
trust Kyle Pitts it's another off season. No, you cannot
trust Kyle Pitts. He's got the ability and the guy
just disappears in way too many games. I know he's

(12:55):
productive with Michael Pennix Junior, but I just have to
see it to believe leave it that this dude is
putting up legit numbers. He was a number four overall pick.
I like Drake London. I love Bejon Robinson, but Michael Pennix.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Junior, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I think he could be good ish, you know, I
think he'd be goodish.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
But I don't see star.

Speaker 2 (13:18):
I don't see you know, top talent taking them to
the promised land. I can see the Falcons being a
good like a respectable offense, number one offense, don't. I
don't see that at all. I'll eat my words if
that happens. Some more training camp buzz. Do you buy
this one? There's some videos floating around there where Aaron
Rodgers is doing these drills working on his mobility and

(13:42):
manned as. That dude looks slow, he looks old, and
there are a lot of reports, a lot of buzz
about that man. Rogers not quite a spring chicken out there.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
Do you buy that?

Speaker 8 (13:54):
Hell?

Speaker 2 (13:55):
Yes, I'm buying that Aaron Rodgers is an old man.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
This is a funny. I don't want to go on
a tangent.

Speaker 2 (14:02):
But tom Brady spoiled us, and tom Brady got us
into thinking that quarterbacks with much different styles can be
as effective when they get old as Tom Brady was,
and that's just simply not true. There are a lot
of quarterbacks. Aaron Rodgers is a good example of that.

(14:23):
Aaron Rodgers wasn't Lamar Jackson. He wasn't just this phenomenal athlete.
But he used his legs quite a bit, and he
was able to get out of the pocket, make some
plays with his legs, run, occasionally, more importantly, throw off platform.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
He was special at that. That was a big.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
Component to him being as special as he was. And
he doesn't have that anymore. It's been banged up a
lot more last year, like knee, ainkle, hammy, anything. Lower
body was pretty much jacked up. He's not just gonna
be the picture of health anymore. And he's not going
to be even though he can be a pocket quarterback.

(15:07):
What made him special was getting outside the pocket and
again throwing off platform.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
He was so good at that.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
He didn't have to be like this perfect you know,
great quarterback form. Okay, our feet are set beautiful, good
let the ball. Know he didn't have to do that,
but he just doesn't have the same ability anymore. His
game doesn't translate to old the way Tom Brady's game did.

Speaker 1 (15:34):
These guys that.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
Make their living by doing special things outside of being
a good pocket quarterback. When you don't have that dimension,
it's like whoa dude that takes a lot? Russell Wilson
was great at extending plays that made him special. He
can't do that anymore, not to the same degree. And

(15:56):
he's been a shell of himself. And Aaron Rodgers man
this season, but behind an offensive line that's been ify Yeah,
not top of the league, not top five like bro
Pff has them rated below the Jets this year and
last year. So if Aaron Rodgers struggled behind last year's
offensive line, what do you think is gonna happen this year?

(16:19):
I don't think he's destined for, you know, outstanding success.
The last one training camp buzz you're buying or selling this?

Speaker 1 (16:26):
This is my favorite one?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
So this is a d Mitchell and it just is
ad Mitchell breakout star pop quiz.

Speaker 1 (16:35):
Who does ad Mitchell play for? Oh, he's with the Colts.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
He's in his second year He's only twenty two years old,
but he was disappointing last season, finished with twenty three
catches for three hundred twelve yards. And I love this.
This might be the Athletic. I'm not quite sure where
I read this Athletic or Yahoo. These newsletters they come out.
I read those quite a bit, but it just says this,
but after torching the raves in joint practices, the former

(17:03):
second round pick sounds primed to break out. That's the
funniest one yet. And this isn't a knock on a
d Mitchell now, I mean, he might be a really
talented guy, might turn the corner in the NFL. Who's
throwing him the ball? Anthony Richardson or Daniel Jones? Do

(17:24):
you think a d Mitchell is primed to break out
with either of those two hacks.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Throwing him the ball?

Speaker 4 (17:32):
No?

Speaker 9 (17:33):
Way?

Speaker 1 (17:34):
What are we doing here?

Speaker 6 (17:35):
Come on?

Speaker 2 (17:36):
This isn't even like legitimate. No, you can only do
so much with a sad quarterback. And both those guys
are sad. That's where they are until they turn the corner,
until there's a resurgence. They are sad NFL quarterbacks.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Nothing personal, just the reality. Okay, there you go.

Speaker 2 (17:54):
There's your edition of buy or Sell Training Camp button.
I will buy the buzz that JJ McCarthy is going
to be a little iffy this season, that Matthew Golden
will be a wide receiver one for the Packers. That
Aaron Rodgers a little slow, little old. I buy all
that stuff.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
I do not buy that.

Speaker 2 (18:14):
Whoa red flag Caleb Williams he missed the throwing net target?

Speaker 1 (18:18):
Whoa out on this? Don't buy that.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Don't buy the Falcons number one offense in the league.
Don't buy a d Mitchell Colts, second year receiver primed
to breakout.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
Do not buy that. There you go, all.

Speaker 2 (18:30):
Right, We get to the militia coming up next eight seven,
seven ninety nine on Fox. Your tweets more than welcome
at the No show is where I'm at. Love the participation,
Love hearing from the militia. I actually cry myself to
sleep if I don't hear from a certain amount of

Oreo doesn't like looking at that. It's very sad, very pathetic.

(18:53):
I will get to the militia coming up next. Have
lots of thoughts. We'll share them with you on the way.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
I'm Brian Noan for Big Ben Malor here on Fox
Sports Radio. Man, I just made Coop and Lorena simultaneously
mad at me. The Coop just asked me what my
favorite Disney movie is, and so the first thing I
did was just google Disney movie movies and I saw
like Man on Fire from Denzel and deja vous from Denzel.

Speaker 1 (20:05):
I'm like, what is this. It's like, Oh, those.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Are movies on Disney. Plus, that's not what I'm looking for.
So I've got the appropriate page. All these Disney movies
and Coop's trying to whittle down to his top three
and uh, he's got Aladdin up high on the list.
I think number two. And I said, I've never seen
that one. And man, thankfully I'm not in person in
Sherman Oaks right now in the Fox Sports radio studios,

(20:30):
because I'm pretty sure they would have thrown things at me.
Maybe bodily harm would have been done, Like this is
a just foul.

Speaker 6 (20:38):
That's a wild statement.

Speaker 1 (20:39):
I'm sorry.

Speaker 6 (20:40):
Yeah, it never happened.

Speaker 11 (20:41):
The most popular Disney movies of all time and you
haven't seen it.

Speaker 1 (20:46):
I have not seen it.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
I'm sure it's fantastic, but yeah, have not seen that one.
There are a lot of There are a lot of
freaking movies over here, right, there are a lot. That
one's on my to do list right here. Yeah, sorry,
by it. So it's number two for you, Coop. You
gotta land Led number two. What solid do you get?

Speaker 6 (21:05):
Lion King number one?

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Okay, So what's the competition between The Little Mermaid, which
is my number one love that movie. Sebastian's hilarious. The Crab, Right,
what do you have duking it out with the Little
Mermaid for the three spot?

Speaker 6 (21:22):
I like Mulan a lot.

Speaker 7 (21:24):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (21:25):
I watched that yesterday.

Speaker 11 (21:26):
That was a good one. I have a Robin Williams
sound bite from Genie and I just I have to
do it.

Speaker 8 (21:31):
That Fez and best combo is much two third century
these patches.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
What are you trying to say, beggar, No, let's work
with you here.

Speaker 11 (21:40):
I like it what he addresses it up to be
a friend.

Speaker 6 (21:45):
I was like the system.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Yeah, it's just for a second, I thought that might
have been headed toward like a two and a half
minute sound bite, you know.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
I thought.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
We're just gonna have like the first five scenes of
that movie real quick here, you know, we're.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
Going to uh but yeah, so like Mulan, Beauty and
the Beast. Uh, you know, but I think I like
Little Man made better than beating the Beast. So that's
I think. So it's it's fighting with Mulan, I think
for me.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Yeah, okay, all right, it's still a pretty solid top
three right there. Do you feel bad for anyone, Like
there are a lot of movies here, like remember the
Titans is a Disney movie. Like you're talking more cartoons,
are you just talking anything?

Speaker 6 (22:26):
I was talking like the classic Disney animation.

Speaker 11 (22:31):
I feel like Old Yeller, Old Yeller, I believe is
a Disney movie. And that is a very.

Speaker 6 (22:36):
Sad Oh yeah, we're If we're opening up to like
live action, then I got to put like Mary Poppins
up there.

Speaker 11 (22:42):
Poppins, yes, yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:46):
Monsters ink shout out, oh one, oh we'll see.

Speaker 6 (22:50):
But see, that's that's Pixar. That's a that's another category.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
That's true. You're right, yeah, you are right about that.

Speaker 6 (22:56):
But I forgot about the Fox and the Hound. That's
that's a.

Speaker 1 (22:59):
Great that's a great one. Okay.

Speaker 11 (23:01):
I'm also been kind of Alice in Wonderland.

Speaker 1 (23:05):
That I definitely have not seen that. I want to know.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I want to know the Disney movie that you hate, Lorena.
That's what I want to know.

Speaker 6 (23:15):
Oh, that's a good question. Does it exist?

Speaker 7 (23:19):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (23:20):
It is there one on the list.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
I'd have to think about that first.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
All right, Well, if you think of one, let us know,
let us know about that. Let me get out to
the militia. Here is my guy Andre?

Speaker 1 (23:33):
Still there?

Speaker 2 (23:34):
I've been very worthy for a second. If Andrea is
still there, let's get him on here. Andre in mass
what's on your mind?

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Buddy? You're on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (23:43):
How you doing?

Speaker 12 (23:43):
Thanks for taking the call. Yes, So you started off
talking about Shador Sanders in the back and forth which
he's had very early on in his career. I go
to the resounding voter support that I saw for Miles
Garrett and his press conference talking about it. Your Door
has conducted himself in training camp how he you know,
folds himself, his work ethic, his attention to details, so

(24:06):
on and forth. So for me, this is the golden
opportunity force your Door to step out really on his own.
He's been kind of in his father's shadow his entire career.
How could you not when you're talking about somebody who's,
you know, arguably the greatest expensive back of all times.
And he's been not only your dad but your coach
as you've gone through the ranks, had great success, and
then he plummeted during the NFL Draft right fall into

(24:29):
where a lot of people said no, no, no, no, he
shouldn't be a fetch around fact, this guy's much more
talented than that. But all the subliminals about the attitude
and all the rest of these things. Whereas we know
that in the NFL, what's the standard, we'll deal with
it until we can replace it. Okay, So that doesn't
I wasn't persuaded by that, because how many people in
the NFL have issues red flags off the field, and

(24:50):
they look right past them if you have talent, and
clearly should door Sanders has talent. But nevertheless, this for
me look golden opportunity. And we say people say it's
the preseason. No, no, no, no. As soon as you're snapping the ball,
as soon as you have the helmets and the pads
on and the TV's cameras are watching, it's meeting for football, okay.
And we already know that we're inching towards eighteen games,

(25:10):
the twenty overall games. So the preseason games just as
important as the seventeen, which is going to soon be eighteen.
The bottom line, if he goes out and has the
resounded performance, it's not that different than Brodny James. He
has a big performance, people are going to be there
supporting him, singing his phrases, if he struggled, it's going
to be the opposite, whether people are going to be
out front with it or they're going to be saying
it behind closed doors. So it's a it's going to

(25:32):
be an event, even though again preseason. And so I
think that he goes out there and he shows well,
you know, Trey Lance went out there and showed well, no, no,
these things matter in terms of momentum. So it's an
opportunity for him to get change the narrative and going
to do something kind of on his own. I think
people in conclusion, you know, there is this, whether people

(25:54):
to admit it or not, they feel that he gets
the press ferential treatment and they feel, you know, the
kid not a talented as Deion, but he has that attitude.
If he goes out there in balls, he can invent
all the attitude that he wants. Hey, thanks taking the call.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
All right, thank you.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
There he is Andre from mass A lot of thoughts
on Shader Sanders.

Speaker 1 (26:11):
All right, Look, man, I just think that it's an
odd situation.

Speaker 2 (26:18):
They've got four five quarterbacks getting reps in training camp.
That is just odd, and so I don't like that
Chaduur and it puts all the quarterbacks in a rough spot.
You want to get as many reps as possible in
training camp, and there are limited reps because there are
so many arms right now. They picked up Tyler Huntley

(26:39):
because they had some injury issues to deal with. Now
these guys are back, you know, competing getting reps, and
so you don't have the full portion of reps that
I think are necessary for development here.

Speaker 1 (26:53):
So Hey, on one hand, I do agree with Lewis
Riddick to a degree.

Speaker 2 (27:00):
He is skating uphill right like, this is not a
great spot to be in because he's had limited reps
in training camp. But I don't think it goes as
far as the organization is intentionally putting him in a
bad spot, so what so he can fail so they
can gain what by him failing. I just I don't

(27:22):
buy that. I don't think it goes that far. But
I will absolutely acknowledge that Shadour's in a rough spot
to start this game, first preseason game, he gets the start,
he hasn't gotten a whole lot of seasoning in training camp,
and we're just gonna throw you out there and see
how you perform, kid, and it's hey, welcome to life.
In the NFL. It's not always gonna be this soft

(27:44):
landing spot. Everything's great. We got you all the reps
you could desire in pre in training camp. You're ready
to go, fully digest at the playbook. We've got all
these weapons around you. You're gonna be surrounded by the ones.
It's not always gonna be a perfect situation. I just
think I thought that one thing that I took out

(28:05):
of what Andre was saying was he brought up Bronnie James,
and that's something I completely agree with. Whatever happens with
Shadeur Sanders, let's say he plays great. Let's say he
stinks up the joint. Whatever he does, Let's say it's
just pretty average, mediocre, nothing special, nothing horrible. Just he

(28:25):
was four for seven for thirty seven yards. And that's
kind of it, you know what I mean, Like it
was just whatever it is, it is gonna be over
reaction city, and it's just odd. It's an odd dynamic
that people are that passionate about Shador Sanders, whatever their

(28:47):
opinion is, they are. They're not banging the table. They
are standing on the table, stomping on the table for
whatever their opinion is.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
It's just odd. It's gotten to that level. But I mean,
I get it.

Speaker 2 (29:00):
He's got a famous dad, he's got a big name,
but he listened a lot of people dislike him, and
I think that's I mean, that's the comparison.

Speaker 7 (29:10):
Man.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
Bronni has a famous father. A lot of people dislike
Bronnie getting an opportunity that he wouldn't have gotten. They
dislike that aspect of it. But I don't know, man,
I think people take it way too far. They're over
the top, passionate about whatever they believe as I gonna
change with shadur So that's part of the uphill battle

(29:32):
for him as well, no doubt. Let me go back
out to the phones. We got Helmet Man up next.
Love hearing from the militia.

Speaker 1 (29:38):
What's going on? Helmet Man?

Speaker 11 (29:43):
Sorry, Coop's on the phone.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Helmet Man? You with me, buddy?

Speaker 9 (29:48):
Oh yeah, top for the morning? Can you hear me?

Speaker 1 (29:51):
I got you, man. It's funny.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
I always say that I text my mom every day
and our running joke is like top of the morning
or top of the afternoon.

Speaker 1 (29:59):
We always do that. So I like that you said that.

Speaker 9 (30:02):
Uh yeah, I'm going to the pre season games coming
up this week at Sofi Stadium.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
Okay, you're gonna check out where you're checking out some
rams action?

Speaker 1 (30:12):
Who do they have? Who are they playing? Again? Got
the Cowboys? Okay?

Speaker 9 (30:18):
And Todd has played a think.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Oh you're going to both of them? Are you going
to both?

Speaker 9 (30:24):
J'm just going outside the shelf stuff, and I might
run into Ben. I might run into y'all if y'all
going to any of those games.

Speaker 1 (30:33):
Okay, where are you selling? You got T shirts? What's
going on their helmet man?

Speaker 9 (30:37):
Sir? Here, he's a few helmet and uh other stuff.

Speaker 7 (30:43):
You know.

Speaker 9 (30:45):
I got the Led Zeppelin T shirts and two Michael
Jackson T shirts. But I'm gonna try to get a
high offer for.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
The Okay, that's the top shelf stuff right there.

Speaker 9 (30:57):
Huh yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:59):
Got the oiol the Ravens and Orioles.

Speaker 9 (31:07):
They're gonna make the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (31:10):
The Oils, well, I think the American League is freaking
wide open.

Speaker 1 (31:14):
That's the first thing.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
And then as far as the as far as the
Ravens go, it's the same song and dance every year.

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Helmet man.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
I think Lamar is exceptional in the regular season, and
then I don't know what the playoffs have been. His
kryptonite so far, so until he turns the corner. Playoff wise,
the Ravens aren't going anywhere, so we'll see if he
can do that once they get there again. I expect
him there again. We'll see if he can crank it
up playoff time.

Speaker 9 (31:40):
One of the top pains. You know, you're just other
teams in the way.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Well, I mean, hey, yeah, that's welcome to life in
the NFL and the AFC. You know, you got a
lot of competition over there. And they run into Mahomes
or they run into Josh Allen and the Bills. There's
some talented teams, but Lamar's got to be as special
in the postseason as he is in the regular season.
And that just hasn't been the case.

Speaker 7 (32:06):
Oh.

Speaker 9 (32:09):
I haven't been calling because I had to concentrate on,
you know, mindset. I was, you know, reading online and
you know, because my mother had passed away during the
twenty ninth of this year.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that, Helmet man. I think
I talked to you the last time I filled in.
I think we talked about that. I'm very sorry about that,
but I hope you're in a good place, man, I
hope everything goes well when you're outside so far.

Speaker 9 (32:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, I'll be out there. I just should
live at a hotel out there. But I got a
like a one bedroom of potn.

Speaker 1 (32:53):
Do you sell any like metal T shirts? Helmet man?

Speaker 2 (32:56):
I think that could make the sales go upward. Getting
I don't know, like get some Lamb of God metal
T shirts there?

Speaker 1 (33:03):
What do you think?

Speaker 6 (33:04):
Oh?

Speaker 9 (33:05):
I have the guy what's this guy name? I got
the Black Savage T shirt?

Speaker 1 (33:10):
Okay, you got some assie going on there? All right?

Speaker 2 (33:13):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (33:14):
Sure, I got a.

Speaker 9 (33:15):
Whole Holgan two shirt. I'm gonna see if I can
get a I'm not breaking everything up.

Speaker 12 (33:20):
I'm gonna self.

Speaker 9 (33:21):
Stuffed in a you know, a package or something like
a lot of people can put their stuff, you know,
instead of one person paying on it. Oh maybe they can.
I get people to uh put together the money so
you know, I can't get the price that I'm asking

(33:42):
for instead of coming out of one person's pocket.

Speaker 2 (33:45):
Okay, he's got a game planes you go, yeah, call
it what is the uh the the Golden State Warriors
they used to call their their small ball lineup, the
death lineup. That's what you could call the T shirt package.
Just call it the death lineup and you know you
get a discount that way, Helmet man maybe, Oh yeah,

(34:11):
there you go.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
All right, buddy, good talking to your helmet man.

Speaker 2 (34:15):
I hope everything goes well outside, so Fie, how about
that fired up?

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Got Ozzy? You got Hulk, Hogan got everything?

Speaker 6 (34:24):
Idea?

Speaker 1 (34:25):
Yeah, the death package idea.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
By the way, Coop, you always talk about movies, TV
shows and stuff. Have you been watching gosh, what's it
called Sneaky Pete?

Speaker 1 (34:36):
Have you heard about that on Netflix?

Speaker 6 (34:39):
Yes, but it was originally an Amazon Prime show and
it just recently showed up on Netflix. So I watched
it back in the day when it was Oh okay
it was originally on It's been pretty good, Yeah, not bad.
I liked it for a few seasons.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Yeah, I season two it's been pretty good. It's just
a guy, he's basically a con man, and they get
into some ambling trouble in season one.

Speaker 6 (35:01):
Giovanni Ribisi.

Speaker 2 (35:03):
Yeah, Brian Cranston is in that as well. But I
bring it up because it was a trip because Malcolm
Jamal Warner is in that, the actor who played THEO
on The Cosby Show. And it was literally like a
week after he had passed away. In real life, we're
watching like season one, season two of Sneaky Pete and
there he is. There's Malcolm Jamal Warner who got a

(35:27):
pretty decent sized role in that show. And I'm like,
oh my gosh, that's crazy. I didn't know Sneaky Pete
was that old. That show right there, pretty good. Maybe
a helmet man can get some Malcolm Jamal Warner going
on in.

Speaker 6 (35:42):
The T shirt lineup right package, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (35:45):
There we go, death lineup. Yeah, we want to celebrate
or he wrotes from the past right there for sure?

Speaker 2 (35:50):
All right, we got the Militia is on deck eight
seven seven ninety nine on Fox Love hearing from the Militia.

Speaker 1 (35:57):
We'll get right back to him and as well.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Coming up pretty soon, a big change in the sports
landscape and it could lead to some really cool stuff.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
We'll see.

Speaker 2 (36:09):
I'll share that with you coming up. I'm Brian though

(36:48):
buying should be. We go right back out to the
militia here. Nick is in Berkeley. He's got some thoughts
for us. Nick, what's going on?

Speaker 12 (36:56):
Man?

Speaker 1 (36:56):
You're on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 9 (36:59):
Hey, what's up?

Speaker 12 (36:59):
No?

Speaker 7 (37:00):
Hey, man, check it out. So basically, I'm just wondering
why everybody hated on Sedur and like just because it's
flamboyant or whatever that was wrong. I'm really worried about
that redskin team because you know, I'm a guy, hard
Niner fan, and I'm worried about that Redskins team and
the quarterback. He man, he's it, man. You know what
I'm saying. I'm worried about Rock thirty getting hurt. You

(37:21):
don't have a backup, which I mystify that. So why
we didn't try to draft you know, sedor at any point?
You know what I mean? I got them know, you
know we got these other cats, but they're so so
we'll have to see we're sort of receivers. Yet we
go out and get a bunch of defensive linemen. So
hopefully Sallow's back and we'll be ripping their helmets off again.
Because you know, when the Niners was winning, our offense

(37:42):
was always on the field. Kanahan got plenty of chances.
People don't realize all the time, the time differential that
the Niners defense had back when we made those little
little runs and stuff, you know, the eighteen nineteen twenty whatever.
And then we come and fell off a little bit,
and then we came back and we choked again, you know.
And it's the fact that matter is we lose one
more Super Bowls.

Speaker 9 (38:03):
That's one row.

Speaker 7 (38:04):
We don't know. We better get it together. We can't.
We cannot lose four balls in a row. I mean,
it's just painful, man. And I don't know what Shanahan
need to do. He might get him so because it's
closen to that. Boy, we're I don't know what. And
I go to all the games, say you do play

(38:25):
like you know, Shanahan's the coach. I'm glad we're sticking
with Thanks coaches all the time. Man, it doesn't really
work out, you know. I mean, it's too much change
going on to the quarterbacks and whatever. But man, then
Redskins is dangerous. I'm not really getting some knock each
other up and we'll face one of them. But hopefully
we get there. Man, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
I hear you next Yeah, no, no good stuff, I
hear you on all that.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
It's look, man, I didn't even think about that, losing
four super Bowls in a row. This is the Niners
is one of the most the proudest franchises in the
NFL's one of the top for a long long time.
And that's just that's too much, especially when you're used
to you know, if you're used to five star meals,

(39:11):
you can't get used to you know, stale ramen noodles.
You can't go from the penthouse of winning super Bowl
after super Bowl to like losing super Bowl after super
Bowl as just that can't happen. But hey, you'd take
getting there all day. I don't know if that's gonna
happen with the Niners. The question with them is they
lost a lot of talent in the offseason. They have

(39:32):
to pay party, and they started the process of, you know,
scaling back the talent of the roster overall, and I
just I'm skeptical. I don't think that party is going
to maintain that consistency, maintain that productive level when the
supporting cast isn't as good. Nick's right, man, Jaden Daniels

(39:52):
is fantastic, unbelievable rookie season. And listen real fast on Shauduur.
I really don't get why so many people feel so negatively.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
Toward the guy. I don't get it.

Speaker 2 (40:08):
I really don't like Okay, he's got some style to him.
Maybe he's a little cocky, maybe he's a little bit
brash at times. I don't think he's done anything to
deserve the amount of hate. Hates God, but that's where
we're at, all right. Coming up next, a Hall of
Famer
