Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh, what is going on?

Speaker 2 (00:01):
Happy Friday to you, the weekend right around the corner.
Let's get after it, looking forward to it. Hope everything
is going great for you. We'll get to the militia
here shortly. Feel free to check in Militia final hour,
Still have time for you.

Speaker 1 (00:16):
Okay, So.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
Number one isn't in the top five. All right, this
is what I'm thinking, and this is important. There are
a lot of fans, a lot of media people screwed
this up all the time. Just because a player wins
big does not mean that is automatically a top player. Okay,
that's very important to understand. Because Jalen Hurts is a

(00:43):
good quarterback, but he's being shoehorned into territory I do
not think he belongs in right now. So the question
becomes people are kicking this around, like who's QB five
Because most most media members they have in some sort
of order, mahomes Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson. That's

(01:06):
typically what it is. So the question is like who's fifth,
Who's QB five? And you're getting a lot of well,
Jalen Hurts, that's the guy. No, it's not, No, it
is not And This isn't me making Jalen Hurts being
out to be like QB twenty eight.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Or something like that. Okay, he's good.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
He was clutch on the biggest stage in the Super
Bowl both times they played the Chiefs. He played great,
So I give him his flowers. But fifth best quarterback
in the league. No, And this is the deal. He
won big. He's coming off a Super Bowl win. But
that's not the only thing you have to consider here.

(01:44):
There are so many other things to consider. For one,
think of this this idea that, hey, Jalen Hurts just wins.
Is that because primarily of Jalen Hurts or is it
because of oh, I don't know, these seven other things
like Saquon Barkley two thousand yard rusher, best offensive line
in football, you have aj Brown, DeVante Smith, Dallas Goddart

(02:06):
to throw to. You have oh, by the way, the
number two scoring defense in football last season. Could be
that could be more that. I think it's more that.
And also this, think of Nick Foles for a second.
Nick Foles won a Super Bowl with the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Is he a top five quarterback?

Speaker 3 (02:23):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:23):
He wasn't he if he had binoculars, he'd still be like, yeah,
I still don't see the top five quarterbacks. I man,
I think I see QB twenty, I think, But like
the top five, No, no, I had no trace of them.
He wasn't even close. That guy was a journeyman. The
rest of his career was a backup with the Eagles.

(02:47):
Carson Wentz got hurt, he stepped in admirably, played great,
and the rest is history. But that doesn't mean just
because he went toe to toe with Tom Brady in
a Super Bowl and played awesome to Philly, actual catches
the touch down, the whole thing, that doesn't mean that
he's one of the top players because he was huge
on the biggest stage.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
It takes more than that.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
People were saying this about Jimmy Garoppolo not that long ago.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
He just wins. You remember that, he just wins.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Jimmy g he just went He's like, yeah, he won
a lot of games with the Niners, nearly won a
Super Bowl and all that. He just went, yeah, he
went to the Raiders and guess what, the winning stopped.
It stopped immediately. It just you know, grab the emergency
brake on all that. Winning at three and three has

(03:39):
been a backup since ye know we'll get to the
back issues of Matthew Stafford, but just funny, it was
a couple of years ago people are like, Jimmy G
just wins, and now it's like, oh my gosh. If
Matthew Stafford is hurt and Jimmy G has to fill
in for like five six games, oh gosh, you know
that he just wins, stuff can go away real quickly.

(04:02):
And with Jalen Hurts, that's why you have to consider
more than just the wins.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
I know that's that screws some people up.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
But winning as a team doesn't mean you're automatically a
great individual player. The Eagles have a great team and
Jalen Hurts is a part of that success. But is
he top five? Like again, some of this is the production.
This dude through eighteen touchdown passes last season eighteen. This
is like nineteen seventy three. Eighteen touchdown passes in today's

(04:35):
NFL wide open offenses, the rules being what they are
eighteen Like, what are your weapons? You have the worst weapons? No,
you got aj Brown, Devontae Smith, Dallas Goddard eighteen touchdow,
Come on, dude, eighteen, what are we talking about? Your
top five get out of here. Jayden Daniels is top
five to me already. That's how special he was. I

(04:57):
know some people want to see more from one of
those people. Oh great, I don't need to see more.
That dude has an outstanding feel for playing quarterback in
the NFL already. He is a running threat, rushed for
over almost nine hundred yards, and the passing ability is
outstanding already. He's a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts's right now.

(05:20):
And I think like this, if you flip flop which
teams those guys are on, if you're being completely honest here,
you put Jaden Daniels. Look at what he did with Washington.
That dude, what was the stat from earlier. I'll get
it for you again. Daniels became the only rookie starting

(05:40):
quarterback in the Super Bowl era We're talking fifty nine years, right,
only guy to reach a conference championship game without a
top defense. Washington ranked twenty fourth in defensive EPA per
play last season. That sucks, okay, Like they're their bottom

(06:01):
you know, quadrant in the league and they're in the
NFC title game. In Jayden Daniels' rookie year. It's the
best rookie year of any quarterback in NFL history. He
was outstanding. You put Jaden Daniels with Philly.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Forget it, it's a rap.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
You got sa Quon, best offensive line, all those weapons
to throw to, outstanding defense, top notch, getting after Mahomes
the way they did. You don't think Jaden Daniels could
win a Super Bowl with that? You're out of your
mind if you, of course he could. Meanwhile, if you
put Jalen Hurts with even with Washington, who's got okay talent?

(06:41):
I mean, let alone, you put them with the Titans
or something like that. Jalen Hurts even with Washington, Let's
play that game. No two thousand yard running back, no
top five receiver, no number two scoring defense, Good luck
with that.

Speaker 1 (06:55):
Good luck.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I just again, I don't want to make him out
to be some you know, hack quarterback. That's not what
I think of Jalen Hurts. But there are a lot
of times I just don't think much of his passing ability.
He's going to the wrong place with the football, a
little slow going through his progressions, and I I just
I'm not a huge fan of his passing game. And

(07:19):
then also I think he gets too much love for
the brotherly shove push push stuff. It is a weapon.
It is, there's no doubt. But are you telling me
Saquon Barkley can't do that? Seriously, for anybody who's like
shak yeah, say say Quad's Barkley, all right, the dude
can also squat the weight room just like Jalen Hurts.

(07:40):
You put Saquon back there right behind center, and don't
give me this whoa.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Everybody will know what's coming. We don't. With Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Was he running play action passes when you know you
line it up for the tush push?

Speaker 1 (07:51):
No, we know what's coming. It just can't be stopped.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Maybe Saquon couldn't run it at the same level of effectiveness.
You don't think he could still be incredibly effective doing that.
Of course he could, Absolutely he could. It's mostly the
offensive line and again the guy the leg strength of Saquon.
So this idea, Oh, you're getting so much value from

(08:14):
Jalen Hurts.

Speaker 1 (08:15):
No, you're not.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Eighteen touchdown passes. That is not top five in the
NFL right now. Sorry, Like where you end up matters.
I saw this with Travis Kelce. Okay, we're just talking
about him and his lovely girlfriend Taylor Swift. So, Travis
kelce he did an interview with GQ and he begged

(08:41):
the coach at the time, from the Browns head coach
Rod Schudzinski, he begged chud to pick him before the
twenty thirteen NFL draft. Right, so he's in his office
right before the draft. He's like, pick me, dude, please.
His direct quote was in this interview with GQ. Here's
what Travis kelce said. I cried in Chud's office and
say I will effing die for this city. I literally

(09:03):
was in there. I said, I'm sorry, I'm getting emotional.
I grew up down the street. I would efin do
anything to play for the Cleveland Browns. He looked at
me like I was insane? Is that not top notch Browns?
Right there? Here's this kid grew up here. We'll die

(09:24):
for this team in this city. Let's not select him.
Let's just not Let's go somewhere else with our draft picks. Right.
But ask yourself this, and this is how it connects
to Jalen Hurts. What if the Browns did draft Travis Kelcey,
how does his career play out? He doesn't have even

(09:45):
close to the success he's enjoyed while being a member
of the Chiefs and having Alex Smith for a couple
of years and Mahomes for gosh what seven years now.
Mahomes has been one of the best young quarterbacks the
NFL has ever seen before. It's worked out great for
Travis Kelcey, multi time Super Bowl champion, the whole nine yards.

(10:06):
He's not doing that with Cleveland. Okay, So where you
end up matters, what your supporting cast is matters. And
so this idea that Jalen Hurts is top five, get
the hell out of here.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
No he's not.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
He is not top five. You put Jalen Hurts on
like a bottom feeder team. Oh my gosh, it's just
warts exposed galore. It's like, whoa, yikes, this guy. The
passing ability leaves it quite a bit to be desired here.
That's what it would be. He is living the high

(10:43):
life with that supporting cast. And that's the thing, man,
where you go matters. Travis Kelcey a special as he
is half the player in Cleveland compared to the Chiefs.
Jalen Hurts the same thing. Draymond Green good example with
the Warriors, Hall of Famer with the Charlotte Hornets. Just
a guy, average role player who gets a lot more

(11:05):
technical fouls because he's losing his freaking mind with all
the losing that's happening. So no, I do not buy
Jalen Hurt's top five quarterback. You can maybe sneak him
in your top ten. I know some people think this
is blasphemy.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
It's not. It's just the truth. There are quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
You put a lot of quarterbacks in that situation over
there in Philly and they could have equal success.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
They might do it a different way.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
They might not run the push push like Jalen Hurts does,
But I guarantee you this, they'll put up better passing
numbers and it's gonna even out. It is going to
even out. You might be even coming out ahead in
that department there. So yeah, I'm not buying it.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I don't want to.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
That's a dangerous thing with doing this type of stuff
where I make it sound like this dude sucks out loud.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
He doesn't. He's good. He's a good quarterback. Again, my
voice goes up in.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Octave because I can't be oh man, he's awesome. I'm
not like, you know, like DMX right, awesome, you know,
like my voice doesn't go down, it goes up, like, hey,
he's good, he's good. That's Jalen Hurts. He's good. He's
nowhere near elite. He's not a top five guy. That's
my spiel for you. By the way, real fast the
little bow on this. I was looking at this little

(12:18):
draft history nuggets here.

Speaker 1 (12:19):
So I was curious.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
I was like, okay, Travis Kelce twenty thirteen draft was
willing to die to be a Cleveland Brown. Cleveland was like, thanks,
we'll take it from here. So what did they do
that draft? Who did they take? And this is interesting? Okay,
So Brown's twenty thirteen draft sixth overall pick Barkavius Mingo.

(12:41):
Remember that Mingo out of LSU. It didn't work out,
by the way. Fun fact, we were talking about dogs earlier.
I forgot our very very first dog. I was a tiny,
tiny kid. I barely even remember. Our first dog was
named Mingo, you know, like Barkievius Mingo. I don't know
why they named our dog. Mingo wasn't after bark Barkiev's

(13:01):
probably wasn't even born yet. But anyway, Mingo. He bit
me on the year, that evil dog. You know, I
was very young, and all of a sudden, no more Mingo.
He was gone, Audios Mingco Like this, kids, not expendable,
you Mingo, you're expendable. You go to a friend's house.
You know, you're out of here, out of here, hit
the road. So anyway, Barkivius Mingo, sixth overall pick. This

(13:22):
is the interesting part. So Cleveland their second round pick.
They forfeited it because they used their selection to get
wide receiver Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft. Right, remember,
the wide receiver is really good, had his struggles and
drinking that sort of thing, but really productive couple of years.
They picked him with the supplemental draft. Didn't have a

(13:44):
second round pick in the actual NFL draft, so third
round Travis Kelcey was the first pick in the third round,
taken by the Chiefs sixty third overall. The Browns had
the sixty eighth pick, so they could have moved up.
They didn't. They didn't move for the kid who was
willing to die for the city in the organization. They're like, ah,
we're good. Sixty eighth pick. They took a guy out

(14:06):
of San Diego State, cornerback Leon McFadden. Don't remember him either,
Do not remember this guy? And to make things even
worse after bypassing on Travis Kelcey not moving up to
get them the very next pick, sixty ninth overall, the
Arizona Cardinals drafted cornerback Tyron Matthew quite a bit better

(14:26):
than Leon McFadden. So you know, left and right, the
Browns just screwing everything up. Their first round pick fizzled out,
their second round pick was good for a season or two,
and then you know, he fizzled out of the league.
And their third round pick they could have had the
Honey Badger, they went with the no name. So there
you go. There's the Browns in a nutshell right there.
But look, man, it matters where you end up, especially

(14:49):
for quarterbacks. Absolutely matters where you end up. And I
do not think Jalen Hurts would be even close to
similar success on a much lesser team, much lesser talent.
I just think they do more for him than he
does for them. And I'm not saying he doesn't do
anything for them, but they do more for him. I
truly believe that. All right, eight seven seven ninety nine

(15:12):
on Fox is your number. Some of the militia wants
to check and we'll get to them. Also, coming up next,
some potential bad news for a big name player, and man,
it looks like hideous news for one of my favorite teams.
I'll share that with you. Coming up, it is Fox
Sports Radio. I'm Brian no In for Big Ben. Keep
it locked right here on FSR.

Speaker 4 (15:30):
Be sure to catch live editions of the Ben Maler
Show weekdays at two am Eastern eleven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. Hi, this is Jay.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
I'm the producer of the Paul and Toni Fusco Show.
Usually in these promos they ask you to listen to
the show. I'm here to ask you please don't listen
to the show. The hosts are two absolute morons who
have the dumbest takes on sportsmagicable. Don't listen to the
show so it can get cancel.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
What the hell are you doing out studio? Get him, Polly,
Ignore that fool.

Speaker 1 (16:01):
Listen to the Pauline twenty Fusco.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Show on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcast.

Speaker 4 (16:06):
He's still moving.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian though in for
Big Ben Mellor. For over forty years, ty Rak has
been helping customers find the right tires for how, what
and where they drive, ship fast and free, backed by
free road hazard protection with convenient installation options like mobile
tire installation, tire rack dot Com. The way tire buying
should be okay, I'll get to the militia here in

(16:31):
just a couple of minutes. And then also coop scoops
right around the corner as well. But some potential bad
news for a well known player, and then it sounds
like pretty horrible news for my team. So first off,
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford he will work out on Saturday,
according to head coach Sean mcfay. So that's good news
based on what's happened in training camp. No show. We

(16:53):
haven't seen Matthew Stafford out there. So he hasn't practiced
during training camp because of an aggravated disc in his back.
And so last Saturday, Stafford threw sixty eight passes in
a workout. This was at the Rams team facility. No
limitations in terms of the types of throws he was
able to make. That's the good news. The bad news

(17:14):
is Sean McVay said that Stafford felt good and that
he didn't feel good enough to throw two days later.
So that's the thing, man, think about this. Sixty eight throws,
he took no hits, and he's on the shelf for
the entire week. Like just making throws put him on

(17:36):
the shelf for an entire week. What's gonna happen when
the regular season rolls around. He's taking hits, he's got
an aggravated disc in his back. I don't know, man,
that's it doesn't sound great that Stafford's just gonna be
the epitome of health in twenty twenty five. Now the
S word has not been discussed yet. What is the

(18:01):
S word? That would be surgery That has not been
talked about. So McVeigh was asked about this whether surgery
has been ruled out for Stafford, and McVeigh said, that
hasn't been a conversation that we've had. So it hasn't
progressed to that level of panic. It's not like, you know,

(18:23):
sound the alarms type situation yet. But man, with every
day you can't feel good as a RAMS fan with
Stafford in back issues and not even practicing, you know,
just throwing and then he's on the shelf for a
lot more days. That's not a good sign whatsoever. Now
as far as bad news for my favorite team, So NFL,

(18:44):
I've been always been a Dolphins guy, and I guess
they stunk it up something fierce on Wednesday. This is
a joint practice with the Lions. And look, man, I
think some of these details can get incredibly geeky with like, oh,
this quarterback is, stat line is this, and you know
we're getting way too in depth with some of this.
But these guys who are watching practice are like, yo,

(19:06):
this was the most lobsided joint practice I've ever seen
in my life.

Speaker 1 (19:12):
The Dolphins got wrecked. I'm in ross.

Speaker 2 (19:15):
Saint Brown was chewing them alive, you know, Like one
guy went as far as to say is the most
lobsided joint practice he's ever seen.

Speaker 1 (19:24):
And then you get this on Thursday.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
So veteran running back Matt Brida, you might remember him,
he might not. He plans to retire after seven NFL seasons.
I didn't know he wasn't retired already, but the Dolphins
recently requested a workout with Brita and he declined. He
was like, you know what, I'm just gonna call it
the career. I'm good.

Speaker 1 (19:47):
How bad are things for the Dolphins where.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
They're reaching out to a no name running back and
he's like, you know what, I think I'll actually retire instead.
That's probably a better option for me at this point.
Oh my gosh, and you hear these details. Matt Brida.
He spent time in training camp last year with the
forty nine ers, but he was released before the season
and didn't even play. Last year. He's been inactive. He

(20:13):
didn't play in twenty twenty four. Dolphins reached out to
him like, hey man, we got a spot for you.

Speaker 1 (20:18):
Want to try out. He's like, yeah, no, I'm good.

Speaker 2 (20:20):
I'll just not play anymore for anybody. This is what
I'll do. Wow, that's pretty crazy. Now the connection McDaniel
was in San Francisco across pass with Brita. You know,
they have familiarity. That's the sort of thing.

Speaker 6 (20:35):
You know.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
But still that's not great, not a great sign whatsoever
from my fins. Let's get out to militia before coop scoops,
Blind Scott. Let me hear from him, Blind Scott on
the line here Fox Sports. Ready, what's going on, Blind Scott?

Speaker 7 (20:50):
Hey, what's up. I wanted to do a New York
Jets take. So like Aaron Rodgers, I'm a big New
York Jets fan. I like the fan base. I like
the fan base because they're like the time losers. I
like how the die High football fans. I watched every
snap last year Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. He sucked
at every snap. He shouldn't shouldn't even be in the
NFL right now. So now he's in Pittsburgh, it's a

(21:11):
clown show. They're they're not an offensive team, they're a
defensive team. He's going to just completely ruin that franchise.
He goes on that Pat McAfee showing that's a terrible show,
like he has pan lost their shirt on that guy.
Nobody watches that. That's for a non relevant audiences that
don't have real local sports markets, you know. So that's
why he's able to go on there and spew nonsense. Hey,

(21:32):
you know these threats that come into sports media people
both they're all fake. If you confront these people in
real life, they would color like if you sent the
police over their house, they would just cower into nothing,
you know what I mean. But there's that one threat. Like,
one thing about this is this is called problematic. Men
like women don't threaten sports people, you know what I mean.

(21:53):
Only men do that to each other. So men have
to police each other on this, you know what I'm saying.
That's the only way that it will get resolved. But
it's all fake anyways. It's all like a macho type
of thing, you know. You know, we like to be
tough as men, you know what I'm saying. So if
you're gonna say something, you're gonna be able to back
it up or face the consequences. There's a thing with
freedom of speech, but freedom of speech comes with consequences

(22:16):
if you're gonna say those actions, actions mean a lot,
a lot louder than words. The thing about that.

Speaker 2 (22:22):
But the thing though, blind Scott, let me stop you
right there real fast, because we're talking about the gambling
sports betting and some of these idiotic fans that you know,
like make death threats and all that stuff. Here's the thing, man, Yeah,
I hear you between words and actions. But let's say
you're the player. You don't know if this person's serious.
Lance McColo's starting pitcher, like his family got threatened to

(22:43):
be murdered. So let's say you go out to eat
with your family the next day. You don't know if
this person's for real. You don't know if he's just
talking trash, which most likely is the case. You don't
know that for sure. That's the difference, Right.

Speaker 7 (22:54):
It's really insensitive and it causes you TOMA. It will
cause you COMPLEXSD which will make you go see a psychiatrist,
which will come. You'll traumatize your family after be a trauma,
trauma like that. That's how trauma works, you know what
I mean. So it's just one person who's been traumatized
by someone else traumatizing another person, and they're gambling because

(23:14):
it's an addiction, because it feeds that empty hole deep
down inside them. But that's not how gambling works. There's
people at the Red Sox games that bet on every
pitch that are there. You know what I'm saying. They
have pitch by pitch betting. But it's the same as
drinking and playing keino and everything. You know, you can't
recognize this stuff publicly. The more you bring public attention

(23:36):
to it, the more it empowers people to do it
more because people are idiots.

Speaker 6 (23:40):
You know.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yeah, it's just I appreciate you checking in, blind Scott.
It's good to hear from you.

Speaker 3 (23:44):
Man.

Speaker 2 (23:44):
It's just not acceptable. You know, I know these athletes
make a ton of money. It doesn't make it okay
for people to threaten their lives or their families lives
because the parlay didn't cash. That's just it's insanity, man.
It should never be like that. No athlete. No, they're
not just athletes that are paid a bunch of money.
They're human beings. No human being should have his life

(24:06):
or her life threatened, or their family's lives threatened, and
the person just gets away with it. That's crazy. That's insanity.
All Right, we got Coop scoops on a lighter note,
let's dive right into that Coop. You take it away, buddy,
I'm excited for this.

Speaker 5 (24:19):
Oh oh hold on, hold on, hold on, I'm sorry.
We need it before we do that. Before we do that,
we need we need to go to Marcel first because Marcel, yeah,
he usually throws it to me, so oh beautiful.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
All right, Marcel and Brooklyn, what's going on, buddy?

Speaker 1 (24:31):
How are things ring?

Speaker 6 (24:33):
Four time Caller of the Year, mister.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
No, I apologize the four time reigning Caller of the Year, Marcel,
what's going on next.

Speaker 6 (24:46):
Year?

Speaker 2 (24:47):
My money's on you, Marcel, My money is on you.
You're at least a minus two fifty favorite.

Speaker 6 (24:52):
I would say, oh, count you right on, game on, buddy.

Speaker 1 (24:58):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (24:58):
Okay, So you have the the thrilling introduction for Coop
Scoops for us here Marcel.

Speaker 6 (25:03):
Oh yes, it's thirty two minutes past the hour, five
thirty two here in the East, two thirty two out
what my boy loop justin Cooper up Rock with fan
on X Coop Coop on Entertainment starts right now. Take
it away, my friend.

Speaker 5 (25:19):
I'm man, Thank you, Thank you, Marcel. I appreciate that.
All right, Brian, we are going to start off in
the theaters as always on Coop Scoop on Entertainment, and
in the theaters this weekend. We have a sequel, a
sequel that I'm actually pretty excited about. It is Nobody too.
Oh yeah, did you did you watch Nobody?

Speaker 4 (25:39):
I didn't.

Speaker 1 (25:39):
Oh man, that's funny.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
I had a flash. But I'll tell you a story
in a second. But love boben Odin Kirk. I didn't
see the original.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
Nobody, but it's good.

Speaker 5 (25:48):
It's good.

Speaker 1 (25:49):
It's the previous look good for the second one.

Speaker 5 (25:51):
Yeah, I highly recommend it. So far, the critics are
liking this. It's got an eighty four percent critics score
on Rotten Tomatoes and then ninety three percent score, so
audiences are liking it even more.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
Dude, I just I gotta say, real fast food. I
had a flashback. You'll have one too. You remember the
No Buddies?

Speaker 5 (26:08):
Yeah, hell yeah, I just thought this.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
Is what we did. It was a goofy thing like
weekend overnights when Coop and I were working together. That's
it's kind of like the Malard Militia. That's the best
we could come up with with. Are you a no Buddy? Yeah?
Are you one of our listeners? But that's what I
just thought of what you say in the movie title,
good stuff.

Speaker 5 (26:27):
Yeah, mister nice guy is an original nobody.

Speaker 1 (26:29):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (26:30):
He is.

Speaker 5 (26:30):
It's right.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Telly got his burner and became a hater.

Speaker 1 (26:33):
I don't know what's going on.

Speaker 5 (26:34):
Yeah, So this one, this one's you know, it's it's
of course gonna be action packed, but it's also packed
with star power. Uh, you know, aside from Bob owen Kirk,
we've got Connie Nielson. We've got Colin Hanks, Christopher Lloyd,
Sharon Stone. Wow. Yeah, So it's gonna be uh, it's
gonna be a good one. So check that out in
theaters right now. Also in theaters. This one was probably

(26:58):
more of a limited release, so you might have a
little bit of trouble finding it. But it is called
Americana and it is a movie that stars Sidney Sweeney.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Oh see how your voice changed right there. I know
how you feel.

Speaker 5 (27:13):
About sid That's right. Also, you know I always say,
is it Halsey? Is that how you pronounce it? Halsey? Halsey, Halsey. Yeah,
she's in this as well, Halsey. Yeah, okay, she is pop?
Is she a pop singer?

Speaker 4 (27:28):
No?

Speaker 5 (27:29):
Yeah, yeah, all right, anyway, she's in that as well.
And this is basically it is a gallery of dynamic
characters clashing over the possession of a rare Native American
artifact in a modern day Western Okay, yeah, all right,
So check that out for Sidney Sweeney if not anything else, right,

(27:51):
but a lot.

Speaker 1 (27:51):
Of people will.

Speaker 5 (27:52):
But that being said, so far, it is being well
received by the critics.

Speaker 1 (27:57):
Well, good, yes, Moving.

Speaker 5 (27:59):
Over to television, Brian, we have a couple of new
things here. One of them is music related. But before
I get to that, hold on, let me say Okay,
we have on Netflix available right now. It is a
new drama slash that they're called Night Always Comes, and
it stars Vanessa Kirby. Do you know who that is? Brian?

Speaker 1 (28:20):
I don't based on name. I gotta google her.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
She is in Fantastic Four in theaters right now. Okay,
she was also in.

Speaker 2 (28:28):
Uh oh, I do know her. She was in The Crown,
one of the Bond movies.

Speaker 5 (28:33):
Oh yes, yes, yeah, that is well and I think
she was also in a Fast and Furious movie.

Speaker 1 (28:38):
Oh really? Wow?

Speaker 5 (28:39):
Yeah, I think I don't know, but yeah, so it
stars It stars her Jennifer Jason Lee.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Oh I'm bad. It was one of the Mission Impossible.
Sometimes I get Bonded Mission Impossible mixed up. But she
was kind of like a.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Bond girl role rights.

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, good movie though that one. I think
it was the seventh one Mission Impossible, but I know
her from that.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
Yeah, yeah, I remember.

Speaker 1 (29:03):
She's good.

Speaker 5 (29:04):
Yeah. So basically this the film follows a woman over
the course of a single, increasingly stressful evening as she
makes her way through Portland, Oregon, in a desperate quest
to raise enough money to save her family's home.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
Oh man, yeah, that is realistic, right there?

Speaker 1 (29:18):
You kidding me?

Speaker 5 (29:21):
Right right?

Speaker 1 (29:21):
Good luck to her and that one.

Speaker 2 (29:23):
My gosh.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Yeah. So that is us streaming right now on Netflix
on let's see, is this on Monday? Oh no, it
is on Tuesday. Tuesday on Netflix, we have the premiere
of a music documentary Devo. Oh that's right.

Speaker 2 (29:39):
What's that about?

Speaker 5 (29:43):
Well, it is about the new wave band, uh huh
and yeah, it takes a look at the origins of
the Akron, Ohio band.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (29:56):
So are you a fan of this band?

Speaker 5 (29:59):
I mean, you know they've got a nice song.

Speaker 1 (30:04):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (30:04):
Okay, what's their most well known song called whip It?
That's Devo? What how do you spell?

Speaker 5 (30:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (30:12):
Okay, that's all with the red hats?

Speaker 5 (30:14):
Right, yes, yes, yeah, Devo with the red hats.

Speaker 1 (30:17):
Okay, yeah? Is it d e v Oh?

Speaker 2 (30:20):
I know that song?

Speaker 5 (30:21):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (30:21):
Sure?

Speaker 2 (30:21):
Yeah, okay, Well, dude, listen.

Speaker 5 (30:24):
They call them the energy Domes. That's what they wear
on their heads.

Speaker 1 (30:27):
The energy Domes.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Okay, but count me in on most listen almost any genre.
A lot of these docs are really interesting.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
Oh, yeah, did you Japan? Do you have a you
have HBO?

Speaker 2 (30:42):
I don't right now?

Speaker 5 (30:43):
Okay, well there's a there's a Good Billy Joel documentary.
Oh really, okay, that I that I recommend? Whoa oh
yeah yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:54):
Yeah energy dopes.

Speaker 1 (31:01):
Yes, yeah, wow, that'd be a costume.

Speaker 5 (31:03):
You could do that for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (31:06):
You go to the poker table wearing that, you.

Speaker 5 (31:08):
Know, yeah, all right, all right, okay, all right. And then, last,
but not least, another one of this is gonna sound deranged,
but another one of my childhood crushes, or at least
it's a movie about her. This is on Wednesday, August
twentieth on Hulu and it is the Twisted Tail of
Amanda Knox. It is a limited series about the girl

(31:31):
who was wrongfully convicted of murder and held in prison
in Italy. This was snap. Yeah, this was all going
on when I was I think it was when I
was in high school and I was like following it
in the news that it was happening, and she's super cute,
so I would have.

Speaker 2 (31:47):
Oh man, wow, yeah, but she was innocent.

Speaker 5 (31:50):
Yeah. I mean, look, there's still to this day, there's
a whole contingent of people that argue that they still
think that she did it, and but I am not
one of those people, and eventually she was. You know, uh,
I guess what's uh, what's the term I'm looking for? Like, yes, exonerated,
thank you, But yeah, that is a that is on

(32:13):
Hulu Wednesday, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, and that
is Coops Entertainment.

Speaker 2 (32:17):
Now, is this because of the facts of the case
or because he found her very attractive that you thought
she was innocent? You know what I mean?

Speaker 5 (32:24):
Uh, it was definitely because of the facts of the case. Okay,
I want I wanted her to be innocent, but no,
I I when I was in I like deep dive,
like researched it on all the different likes.

Speaker 2 (32:37):
Okay, yeah, interesting. So you're gonna be all about this.
But it's a documentary right August twentieth, you said it's
coming up.

Speaker 5 (32:45):
It's a it's not really a documentary. It's uh, there's
like actual you know.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
Actors and yes, yes, they're just recreating them.

Speaker 5 (32:55):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (32:55):
Story. Okay, what would you call that? Just a just
a movie based on a true story?

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Yeah, yeah, based on a true story drama, I guess.

Speaker 2 (33:03):
Okay, interesting, good stuff, nice job Coop outstanding intro by Marcel.
You knew it was destined for success, no doubt about it.
All Right, coming up next man, you talk about throwing
money away and will shoehorn as much good stuff the militia,
maybe some music as well. Before we get out of here,

(33:23):
I'm Brian no In for Big Ben Mallar right here
on Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at foxsports Radio

Speaker 2 (33:38):
It is Fox Sports Radio. I'm Brian no In for
Big Ben Malor. Always fun hanging with you, militia. Good stuff,
very good stuff. Thumbs up, love the participation, love interact,
interacting with you. Okay, so I'm gonna mention a bet
that's just throwing money away, and then Coop, Lorena and
myself we got to make a couple of on this show.

(34:01):
It'll be fun, you know, a couple of picks at least.
But the story is there's some better that is backing
the New York Jets to win the Super Bowl. Why
you would do this? I have no idea. It's better
put not three one hundred ninety six dollars in ninety
six cents. I have no idea why the person would

(34:21):
bet that. But the Browns are two fifty to one
to win the super Bowl. They're thirtieth among thirty two
NFL teams to win it all, and yeah, this guy
would win about eight hundred thousand dollars if he's right.
Not gonna be right. It's gonna be a disastrous season
for Gang Green. But uh, okay, you know, hey, I

(34:43):
gave you a story a little bit earlier. There was
a guy that won a thirteen leg preseason the NFL
parlay bet, and it actually turned out to be an
eleven leg bet. A couple of games got voided, one
was canceled early due to injury, the other one was
a tie, so it's basically an eleven leg parlay bet.
Won thirty thousand bucks on a ten dollars bet. That's amazing.

Speaker 1 (35:06):
But that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (35:07):
There's a reason why they put crazy stuff like that
out there, Like, man, ten dollars, you got that much money,
all right, let me let me bet the Jets to
win it all. It's like, no, that's that's just not
gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (35:19):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (35:20):
By the way we're talking about some of these comments
on the QB tiers list from Mike Sando. He works
for the Athletic Now, so he has all these anonymous quotes.
I know we look down on anonymous quotes like, hey,
put your name on it. I agree with Herman Edwards,
like put your name on it. If you're saying something,
then let it be known that you said it. But

(35:40):
the beauty of anonymous quotes is sometimes you do get
the unfiltered, unvarnished quotes that are just gold. And a
couple of these quotes about Justin Fields are hilarious. New
Jets quarterback Justin Fields. This is an offensive coach talking
about Justin Fields and it starts off kind of like positive.

Speaker 1 (36:00):
And then it takes a turn. Man, so he goes.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
The Jets know who he is, what he is, and
they are going to try to structure things for him.
The problem is the hardest thing to fix with the
quarterback is keeping their eyes up the field, seeing the field,
and not being affected by the rush. And those are

(36:23):
three of the worst things that he does.

Speaker 1 (36:29):
That is an outstanding quote.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
I love that there's one more in terms of his
limitations as a passer, another offensive coach said of Justin Fields,
at the end of the third quarter, you'll be down
eight ten points. Great, you kept it close. Now what so?
I mean, not a lot of faith around the league
for Justin Fields. But hey, we'll see. I didn't realize

(36:52):
that the Jets have had a bottom ten scoring offense
the last nine years, bottom ten in scoring the last
nine years, and Justin Fields is just gonna unlock them.
Come on, it's gonna be a train wreck.

Speaker 1 (37:09):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (37:09):
So as far as bets, I want to compare notes
with Coop and Lorrainer real fast. I saw a couple
of prop bets that I thought were interesting for the season. Okay,
so we'll make some picks just for fun. This is
a regular season only highest total of receiving touchdowns. Will
anybody go over thirteen and a half receiving touchdowns? Would

(37:30):
you take the over or go with the under on
that way?

Speaker 5 (37:32):
Is that where they catch the ball and then make
a touchdown.

Speaker 2 (37:35):
That's exactly what it is, Yes, and it's over what
thirteen and a half? Do you think there will be
one individual player that has at least fourteen touchdown catches? No,
wait for the whole season, whole season. Oh then yes,
you go yes, Yes, I think that's the yes final answer. Yes, Okay, Coop,
what do you think? Yes, you go yes as well. Okay,
I'll go no, just to be different than you guys.

(37:57):
All right, I don't know what we had with the
Are you gonna keep track of this for the whole season? Absolutely?

Speaker 5 (38:03):
There were two that did it last year.

Speaker 2 (38:06):
What was the most? I know McLaurin at thirteen? Who
got over it?

Speaker 5 (38:09):
Jamar Chase?

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Yeah, do you get to sixteen? Seventeen, seventeen? Who else
did it?

Speaker 5 (38:15):
That's it them two? And then a'm and Ross and
Brown had twelve.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
Okay, so it was just Jamar because you gotta get
over thirteen over Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm gonna
say it.

Speaker 5 (38:25):
I'm gonna say yes. Okay, it's a good good season
for football.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Okay, here's a good one regular season highest total passing
yards over four nine hundred and fifty and a half.
So to make it easy, like you got to get
real close to five thousand. Well, we have a five
thousand yard passer. You go yes or no?

Speaker 6 (38:44):
On that.

Speaker 2 (38:45):
We didn't have one last year. Burrow came the closest.
But I'm gonna say no, you go no, Lorena.

Speaker 5 (38:51):
Oh gosh, eh, let's go. Yes. I'm gonna be optimistic. Okay,
they're gonna be a superstar this year.

Speaker 2 (39:01):
I'm gonna go no as well. I'll take the under,
but I like your optimism. Here's a good one. We
just saw a seventy yard field goal by Cam Little
of the Jags, longest made field goal this year over
sixty five and a half or under sixty five and
a half. Now, remember the record is sixty six, so
you got to tie the record. Do you think that'll
happen over you go over slamming the over slamming it. Yes,

(39:25):
new day and age for kickers, baby, huh. Yes.

Speaker 5 (39:28):
And and you know, I think they think that they
want that little happy ending guy off the record book.

Speaker 2 (39:37):
That little happy ending guy. Justin Tucker, get him out
of there, okay, Justin Tuger. No, what did I say?
Did I say the wrong name?

Speaker 5 (39:49):
No? No, you said the right name. Okay, I'm in
a joke. Okay, I don't even know if it was appropriate.
I said. I said, I said, Tugger.

Speaker 2 (40:03):
I get We're We're off the rails now here on
a Friday morning. Okay, last one, last one before we
get out of here.

Speaker 1 (40:10):
I love this one.

Speaker 2 (40:11):
Will any regular season game end in a tie? The
yes is twelve to one, the no is minus five thousand.
You have to risk five thousand dollars to win one
hundred dollars. That's insanity. Remember we got new rules, right,
both teams get a possession in overtime. I say, yes,
we're gonna have one tie this year. Twelve one.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
You with me, Coop?

Speaker 5 (40:31):
Sure, let's do it.

Speaker 6 (40:33):
Ah we go.

Speaker 1 (40:33):
Now it's a party. We'll catch you guys later
