watched the first couple episodes of She Hulk and it
wasn't bad, but so many people were. But there was
a lot of hyping that people were doing it for me,
and I'm like, it might supposed to be drunk or
high when I'm then that was gonna make it go
over the top because there's a couple of decent jokes,

a couple of little setups. Overall, it's like, okay, all right,
it's quick though. Making the stallion I must have watched
like thousand times. Well the extras thought that was the
key you thought? And she was driving a passade. I
care about that. Yeah, she's she's only actually in it

for I don't tell, don't say it, don't say okay, okay,
she's she's only like two or three scenes. No, nobody's
gonna watch it. I will say this. You have to
watch all the way to the end of the credits credits.

You thought today might be bereft of National Football League news,
but oh no, no, we got it for you. Uh
some big quarterback news. The Steelers have named their starting
quarter team captain Mitchell Drabinsky, who will start for the
Steelers week one before giving way to Kenny Pikett sometime

in the third quarter. Whoa, whoa, whoa that you just
trying to cover your put that now that I did say, look,
my one of my one of my big bold predictions
in the in the preseason, that Kenny Pickett was gonna
start Week one. I got really close. I can't say
I didn't get close. Now I didn't get it, but yeah,
but it's not like I feel shame or anything else.

I got really close. But it's gonna be Trubisky for
a couple of weeks and then Kenny Picket's gonna take
over the unless he wins. No, this is he plays well,
this is the quintessential Kenny Pickett really almost did enough,
but it might be better for his development if he
spends three or four weeks preparing and learning what it's

like to prepare for a game in the NFL without
having the burden of starting to know what the weekly
process is like. And then he'll wind up starting because
not like Rubisky is gonna come in and light it
up and suddenly he's gonna be thrown for three and
fifty yards a week and four touchdowns. Rubisky is gonna
be a game manager. And the Steelers, while I think
they'll be a little bit better than people think, are

they going to be great? Is Rubisky suddenly going to
be a guy that we'll look at his lease on life? Yet? No,
he's there to be replaced, and it'll be it'll be
a month or so and Kenny Pickett will take over.
As once Kenny Pickett gets comfortable with life as in
the regular season of the NFL, prepping for the games,
what the weekly schedule is, and he gets used to it,
then he's gonna take over. So this will be your

Bisky's job for three or four weeks, and then it's
gonna be Kenny Pickett. Look, you're just trying to bury him,
like he even got the endorsement of new podcast. Or

I have that Mitchell can throw the ball beyond five yards,

you're looking at a bad offensive line. You've got Naji
Harris that has this Liz Frank injury. Not sure how
much that sprain is gonna become an issue. And that's
a guy that you're banking on twenty plus touches a
week based on what he was as a runner and
receiver a year ago. You have great options in your
receiving corps assuming they're all healthy. Friar move added to

clay Pool, added to Johnson, But all those guys are
banged up entering the season. So eyebrow raised certainly there,
and we know the defense is usually gonna be stout,
big test right off to jump with Cincinnati, and I
just go back, and not to belabor the point of
comparing things to Chicago situations, remember what happened to Justin
Fields last year. Part of it the gross mismanagement of

things by Matt Naggy, but also the idea that they
had such a bad offensive line. What happened the guy
got bludgeoned. So for the Steelers, part of it is
also let's do some management decisions here, how do we
want to do this against the top ranked defenses off
the jump with big pass rushes with the rookie trial
by fire is great. Trial by getting bowled over time

and again because your offensive line can't stop anybody. Probably
not the way you want to start the young man's career.
Probably not not the learning process that that you want. Yeah,
he's gotta take some bumps, gonna take some hits. You
know what, Tramsky potentially is a for that lack of
a better analogy, he's a tackling dummy for a couple
of weeks. Only a matter of time. He is only

a matter of time. But in this particular case, I
like to be right. And my guy Mitchell is not
only your starter, but he is a captain. Listen, if
the quarterback is not the captain, there's something sometimes come.
They didn't name seven captains like the Dolphins did. He

got seven. We have three man roster. How many captain
told you? It's like going on a field trip. One
for every seven and a half guys. Capys the captain.
He's there to be replaced. Kenny Pickett's going to be
the quarterback. It's gonna happen within a month. Kenny Pickett.
I'm telling you because week one he goes out against

the Bengals and it looks like Justin Beelds against the Browns,
and the announcers have no choice but to go, oh
my god, they killed Kenny. It'll be in inside inside
of a month, Oh my god, inside of a month,
he'll be the starting quarterback. Just give him a few
weeks to get ready and he's did They know it.
They know he's the guy. He was great in the
pre season. Troubinsky saved it by in the fourth preseason

with an extended look, he played pretty well. Okay, the
players like he didn't know. He did all the right
things in the off season. You heard a lot of
his teammates today say, hey, he had us at his place,
he had us out to practice. Nazi Harris went to
visit him after he got the gig. Look, they all thought,
all right, Mitchell, Mitchell's the guy. But again, all the
all the good feelings in August go away when the

footballs fly for it. It's great, he's a captain. I
know we're in the early product September, but the good
feelings of August before we start playing games, he's the captain.
He at everybody at his house. Uh, he's able to
to run drills with people. The team loves him, they
respect him. Yeah. Great. After a couple of weeks when
you're losing to seven and twenty eight to nine, it's
gonna be where's the next guy, Where's Kenny Pickett. That's

how it's gonna go. Kenny Picket's gonna be starting in
a month. It's happening. You. You just went straight after it,
like trying to just gut me. Just remember Troubinsky in
his time in Chicago was a winner of quarterbacks ten
thousand plus passing yards, sixty four plus percent completion percentage,
twenty nine plus wins first four NFL seasons. Carson Palmer,

Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, Kurt Warner, Patrick Mahals, and Mitchell Trabinsky.
Just keep giving. And just just the fact you keep
saying his name doesn't mean he's gonna be great. It's
not like every time and get deposed. It's also a roney.

he's staring into space like he you know, the somebody

there's not only the romantic stuff and all of that
that's mixed up in it, but it's also credit for
parts of the development that had gone exclusively to wild

into this. Oh yeah, who may or may not have
been fired from it, but he's not at the premier,
so but like, but then he started doing a bunch
of interviews that really went off in the weird Places video.
But video leaked of Olivia Wilde's part of the conversation
with lab like she put that out and try to say, hey, no,
this is the reality. So it just became this mess

and now Harry styled kissing Nick Kroll at the at
the premiere, and it had something to do this is
like better in that and this is like better than
anything we had in the NFL during the preseason. It's like,
it's really really juicy, this kid hanging out with Pippins X.

We got those two stories. I mean, that's enough to
eat a lot of stuff. Uh So, while that's again,
really I think in all of this, I'm rooting for
Florence Pew. I think she's the one I'm rooting for
the most. And and Pine is just looking like I
did this film. I was happy with the film, and
now I regret ever having anything to do with this

film because of the last three months have been a nightmare.
So anywhere you go any pressure trying to do for
any project, you're in the fifth ring of hell. Yeah,
So in my room, I think I'm rooting for Chris Pine. Next,
I'm not sure. I'm definitely rooting for Florence p First,
whatever happens, we need Elena to be good for the
next ten years because you know she's you know, she's
going to be a black widow, so we need that. Uh.

at least you know, five minutes with sorry, sorry, I'm

But elsewhere in quarterback developments today, Zack Wilson may play

Week one for the Jets. Jets head coach Robert Sala
saying it today, Hey, I know he's at an injury
has been out, but we could have Zach. We're gonna
see how that new responds today tomorrow, and uh we'll
have an AX for everybody on Wednesday, all right, So
there's a possibility he could play on Sunday. Is that
surprising at all, Robert, given of what the kind of
(19:00):
initial prognosis was. Uh, No, everyone heals differently. It's like
I said, we'll see what happens tomorrow and all that stuff,
but everyone has a different It's like I almost feel
like some of the guidelines that are put on our
um their guidelines, but everyone responds deffinitely. Yeah, I'm being
quite honest as a fan, I don't know quite how

I feel about, Okay, Zach Wilson's ready, because I Joe
Flacco is a better quarterback and he's more made for
the system, but Jack Wilson's kind of play. I I
can't tell you how excited I am about all the
other fifty two guys on the roster, because the Jets
roster is deep, right, we watched it last week. Everybody
they cut, seven guys wind up getting signed by other

teams right away. The Jets kept everybody. The Jets defense
is gonna be really good. They have playmakers. I'm just
not excited about Zach Wilson. I'm sorry, I'm not. I
don't I don't see the big jump I want. I
hope Troy Aikman is right when he said he sees
great things for Zach Wilson. I hope he's got I
don't see it. I don't see Zack Wilson. And more
so than that, the complete opposite is happening. How I

thought this was gonna go for the Jets right now
and now? And I'll take you into something where we
have to understand about gods with short ropes at quarterback
who may not be there for a long time. Mitchell Robiski, Um,
what did I tell you when the injury happened. Joe
Flacco is better for this system. Mike White is probably
better in this system than Zack Wilson is. So they're
gonna take their time with Zach Wilson. And you're gonna
(20:31):
see Joe Flacco for a while because if he's good. Hey,
they want to win football games. This is the Jets
team that was made in the off season to be
to bring in talent. They want to win. They got
they they have to They have to show that the
cities we made were right. We want to come in
here and win games. And it's going to be as
soon as Zach is right. We don't want to rush him.

He's coming in. Zach is our future. The fact that
Robert Sale has said the last week and a half,
when Zach is ready, he's going in. No matter what.
When Zach is ready, he's going in. He's gonna play.
He's our guy. I like it because he's being very forceful. Look,
I don't want to cause the controversy here Zach Wilson's
(21:11):
but let me throw this out there at you because
I look at Zach Wilson being the guy because the
Jets want to find out about him as soon as possible.
Because if Zack Wilson stinks, they're not gonna punt on
the season, They're gonna go to Flacco or Mike White,
and he's gonna They're gonna play the rest of the year.

If they feel that those guys can help get the
Jets to the point where they're playing meaningful games in December.
That's the goal. If we want to play meaningful games
in December. And if Zach Wilson is not good, then
they're done and there's gonna be a lot of quarterbacks
available in the draft next year. The Jets have a
lot of picks. Maybe you know we're gonna go quarterback
hunting again next offseason. Zach Wilson has the early part
(21:52):
of this season to show I got it, I can
be a franchise quarterback, or he's done. Because the Jets
aren't gonna just throw them out there and and and
quit the season. He'll get a little bit of time.
But if he shows that I really can't do it
and the offense is not moving, then you know what, Sorry, Zach,
You're done. And a lot of it is scheme over player,
because the Jets are going with this offensive scheme that
(22:12):
doesn't really suit Zach Wilson's strengths of being a pocket
passer and getting outside and making plays with his legs
and making throws that that other quarterbacks wouldn't make. It's
not a great system for him. But in the end,
this is what the Jets want to do, and so
he's only gonna get a limited amount of time before
he loses his job. So they want to know this
right away because if Zach's great, okay, great, he's our guy.
But if not, we're gonna get by with another couple
(22:34):
of guys. And then in the off season we're going
to get another quarterback in Zach Wilson's gonna be someone
who they're gonna Sam Donald him and okay, you want Zach,
good luck, We'll we'll trade him for somewhere else. We'll
get a couple of the draft picks for maybe one
draft pick because teams are gonna be nervous because well,
the Panthers get up a lot for Sam Donald and
that didn't work out. But the Jets will be onto
another quarterback. So that's what Zach Wilson has. So seeing
(22:56):
Robert Sali say, nos, Zack's our guy. Zack's our guy.
While yes, it is confidence in what your next quarterback
is going to be your franchise quarterback. Now, this is
we're gonna find out about him soon and if he's
not good, guess what it's gonna be another couple of
guys coming in to try to get it done. For See,
the thing I read most out of this is Robert
slid is very confident about his job security. That's the

other part of it. If he's gonna say, hey, this
is my guy no matter what, because Joe Blacko. And
this is where we get into these debates about players, right,
going back to your your hatred of Mitchell Robinsky. I
don't know how he hurt you, but the the idea
of being in Pittsburgh, they want to go five hundred
or better. Seemingly, if they happen to go eleven and six,

that's great, but just don't fall below that five hundred line.
And with the veteran you get off, probably do a
better better start. With Zach Wilson and the Jets, you've
really upgraded and changed that roster over the last twenty
four months, right, it is really a much different looking squad.
You've got talent at the running back position. In fact,

in any fantasy draft folks have done through the last
week or two, been a lot of debate of which
guy you're going after, right, because Carter is still the
starter in name, but you look at Breece Hall coming
in and obviously people are very excited about his upside.
Then you go to the receiver position, bring in Garrett Wilson.
I mean there there's a lot of excitement at least
(24:23):
on the perimeter. Now it's just who's pulling the trigger
and can you generate offense? You know what Joe Flacco is.
He's good enough to just win you just enough games
to where those first round picks or whatever don't look
as a sexy Whereas Zach Wilson you're hoping and wishing
that you finally got one of those top five quarterback picks,
(24:43):
right and that he can be the leader that you're hoping.
Robert Salez in no man's land right now with some
of this, but has to talk up his guy because
that's the guy they invested in. Joe Flacco is just
made Look, he called him a starter, remember that famous thing. Hey,
he's a star. I don't know he drum up trade interested?
What do you do whatever? There? Because that that quote

is gonna come back on him here in short order, right,
especially if Zach Wilson comes out in game one because
he's missed a month, he'll stink. But but we've seen
what he brings to the table. The hard part with this, guys,
is that he's missed several weeks of your your preseason.

In these final weeks of practices and just saying all right,
jump back in there when he was already so unpolished
and the offense was so pathetic, I was gonna sugarcoat it,
but let's just call h. I mean, I was trying
to be nice. I mean, the guys sitting five feet
for me. I didn't want to just be like stabbing

him he's sitting here. But yeah, Robert sale In. The
real big takeaway from me is he's a guy that's
very confident. He's back three. However, I think because the
rest of the team is going to be good. They
made all the right moves, they made all the right
personnel decisions. The defense is going to be very very good. Right,
but at the losses stack up, right, But if they lose,

they're gonna lose because Zack Wilson's not good. And that's okay, Well,
we got everything else. We got the quarterback wrong. Hey,
Joe d you got the quarterback? Were fired? Realize it's
it's it's you didn't get the right guy for your system.
You should have built it more around. But okay, Zack
Wilson doesn't win games, they're all fired. Jets are gonna
(26:35):
be on the wrong side of a lot of thirteen
six games this year, so you're betting the under some
regularity on the wrong side of that. Now another quarterback
derby that is happening right now, I'll tell you exactly
how it's gonna go in college football. Michigan rolled to
a Week one win, and we knew that this was
going to be a thing because Jim Harbaugh decided to

would not many people have done in college football. He
still has not decided whether it's going to be Kate
McNamara or j. J. McCarthy as his quarterback. McCarthy's the
recruit that had a high pedigree, played a little bit
last year. Kate McNamara more of a game manager. But
when's the big ten gets the college football playoff? The
plan was from mcnamaray start against Colorado State, and now J. J.
McCarthy's gonna start against Why which there could be a

going this way. Jim Harball wants J. J. McCarthy to
be the quarterback. He wants him to be the quarterback.

McNamara is a game manager. But if the guy who
won you the Big Ten and got you to the
playoff is suddenly benched, you don't know how that's going

to affect the team. The team went to war with
McNamara all year last year, and he played well in
the preseason. In the off season, McCarthy was good too.
You know the reason Hardball is doing this is because
he wants to go to McCarthy. Right, you're coming off
the most successful season he just had. Why would you
not leave your quarterback in there? Yeah, that's great. Kaid's

our guy, and and maybe no, no, no, I'm throwing
it out there upen. He wants McCarthy to be the guy,
and he set it up this way, right. He knows, alright,
we're gonna have one kind of week against Colorado State
and then Hawaii. You can see J. J. McCarthy throwing
for five touch on and suddenly J. J. McCarthy slowly
starts a quarterback from Michigan. He wants McCarthy to be
the quarterback, but he's very cognizant of what that change

could mean to his team. He doesn't want to make
a change and have it be a rough transition where hey,
they lose a game or two here, the team is
not his focus. Some of them don't believe in in
McCarthy over McNamara. He's got to make it seem like
I have no choice. This is the natural evolution of
this team. That's why he's opening up the way. He
has all this stuff with Solomon in the Bible, and
(29:52):
this is because that's what he wants to do. He
wants to be McCarthy. But he's got to manage it carefully.
He's got a nuance it so he doesn't wind up
losing the team and he's got to go to McCarthy
at the right time. But McCarthy is gonna be the quarterback.
In fact, I'll even tell you this middle of the season,
Kate McNamara may not even be on the roster. Well,
but that's the other thing he might that you're trying
to massage in all of this process is knowing what

the transfer portal does to the game anymore, he loses
that gig. He might not even be on the rost,
and you're fearful of losing one or the other based
on how you manage this opportunity. And I think for
coach Hardball, that's as big as uh well, he's probably
spent more time on that than game planning for Hawaii.
We're just gonna go out We don't need to practice week.
We're just gonna go out there and do it. So there, there,

there's your big bull prediction. Mccarthur will be the quarterback,
and then is mcnamary even They want to do it
before the fourth game so we can get another year
of eligibility and go somewhere right away. Really, he may
not even be on the team in the middle of

a lot of hyping that people were doing it for me,

over the top because there's a couple of decent jokes,

a couple of little setups. Overall, it's like, okay, all right,
it's quick though. Making the stallion I must have watched
like thousand times. Well the extras thought that was the
key you thought? And she was driving a passade. I
care about that. Yeah, she's she's only actually in it

for I don't tell, don't say it, don't say okay, okay,
she's she's only like two or three scenes. No, nobody's
gonna watch it. I will say this. You have to
watch all the way to the end of the credits credits.

You thought today might be bereft of National Football League news,
but oh no, no, we got it for you. Uh
some big quarterback news. The Steelers have named their starting
quarter team captain Mitchell Drabinsky, who will start for the
Steelers week one before giving way to Kenny Pikett sometime

in the third quarter. Whoa, whoa, whoa that you just
trying to cover your put that now that I did say, look,
my one of my one of my big bold predictions
in the in the preseason, that Kenny Pickett was gonna
start Week one. I got really close. I can't say
I didn't get close. Now I didn't get it, but yeah,
but it's not like I feel shame or anything else.

I got really close. But it's gonna be Trubisky for
a couple of weeks and then Kenny Picket's gonna take
over the unless he wins. No, this is he plays well,
this is the quintessential Kenny Pickett really almost did enough,
but it might be better for his development if he
spends three or four weeks preparing and learning what it's

like to prepare for a game in the NFL without
having the burden of starting to know what the weekly
process is like. And then he'll wind up starting because
not like Rubisky is gonna come in and light it
up and suddenly he's gonna be thrown for three and
fifty yards a week and four touchdowns. Rubisky is gonna
be a game manager. And the Steelers, while I think
they'll be a little bit better than people think, are
(07:59):
they going to be great? Is Rubisky suddenly going to
be a guy that we'll look at his lease on life? Yet? No,
he's there to be replaced, and it'll be it'll be
a month or so and Kenny Pickett will take over.
As once Kenny Pickett gets comfortable with life as in
the regular season of the NFL, prepping for the games,
what the weekly schedule is, and he gets used to it,
then he's gonna take over. So this will be your

Bisky's job for three or four weeks, and then it's
gonna be Kenny Pickett. Look, you're just trying to bury him,
like he even got the endorsement of new podcast. Or
Ben Roethlisberger, are you like that I'm gonna have a

know if at any point he uses the logic that
I have that Mitchell can throw the ball beyond five yards,

thing that comes with it from Chicago most assuredly and

you're looking at a bad offensive line. You've got Naji
Harris that has this Liz Frank injury. Not sure how
much that sprain is gonna become an issue. And that's
a guy that you're banking on twenty plus touches a
week based on what he was as a runner and
receiver a year ago. You have great options in your
receiving corps assuming they're all healthy. Friar move added to
(09:47):
clay Pool, added to Johnson, But all those guys are
banged up entering the season. So eyebrow raised certainly there,
and we know the defense is usually gonna be stout,
big test right off to jump with Cincinnati, and I
just go back, and not to belabor the point of
comparing things to Chicago situations, remember what happened to Justin
Fields last year. Part of it the gross mismanagement of
(10:09):
things by Matt Naggy, but also the idea that they
had such a bad offensive line. What happened the guy
got bludgeoned. So for the Steelers, part of it is
also let's do some management decisions here, how do we
want to do this against the top ranked defenses off
the jump with big pass rushes with the rookie trial
by fire is great. Trial by getting bowled over time
(10:33):
and again because your offensive line can't stop anybody. Probably
not the way you want to start the young man's career.
Probably not not the learning process that that you want. Yeah,
he's gotta take some bumps, gonna take some hits. You
know what, Tramsky potentially is a for that lack of
a better analogy, he's a tackling dummy for a couple
of weeks. Only a matter of time. He is only
(10:55):
a matter of time. But in this particular case, I
like to be right. And my guy Mitchell is not
only your starter, but he is a captain. Listen, if
the quarterback is not the captain, there's something sometimes come.
They didn't name seven captains like the Dolphins did. He
(11:19):
got seven. We have three man roster. How many captain
told you? It's like going on a field trip. One
for every seven and a half guys. Capys the captain.
He's there to be replaced. Kenny Pickett's going to be
the quarterback. It's gonna happen within a month. Kenny Pickett.
I'm telling you because week one he goes out against

the Bengals and it looks like Justin Beelds against the Browns,
and the announcers have no choice but to go, oh
my god, they killed Kenny. It'll be in inside inside
of a month, Oh my god, inside of a month,
he'll be the starting quarterback. Just give him a few
weeks to get ready and he's did They know it.
They know he's the guy. He was great in the
pre season. Troubinsky saved it by in the fourth preseason

with an extended look, he played pretty well. Okay, the
players like he didn't know. He did all the right
things in the off season. You heard a lot of
his teammates today say, hey, he had us at his place,
he had us out to practice. Nazi Harris went to
visit him after he got the gig. Look, they all thought,
all right, Mitchell, Mitchell's the guy. But again, all the
all the good feelings in August go away when the
(12:25):
footballs fly for it. It's great, he's a captain. I
know we're in the early product September, but the good
feelings of August before we start playing games, he's the captain.
He at everybody at his house. Uh, he's able to
to run drills with people. The team loves him, they
respect him. Yeah. Great. After a couple of weeks when
you're losing to seven and twenty eight to nine, it's
gonna be where's the next guy, Where's Kenny Pickett. That's
(12:48):
how it's gonna go. Kenny Picket's gonna be starting in
a month. It's happening. You. You just went straight after it,
like trying to just gut me. Just remember Troubinsky in
his time in Chicago was a winner of quarterbacks ten
thousand plus passing yards, sixty four plus percent completion percentage,
twenty nine plus wins first four NFL seasons. Carson Palmer,

Dak Prescott, Russell Wilson, Kurt Warner, Patrick Mahals, and Mitchell Trabinsky.
Just keep giving. And just just the fact you keep
saying his name doesn't mean he's gonna be great. It's
not like every time and get deposed. It's also a roney.

Keeps saying his name, he's gonna be more powered if
you and everybody else wants to go down the road
that this guy is such a trash bag that there's
so many stats in support of him as a starter

been fired from it, but he's not at the premier,
so but like, but then he started doing a bunch
of interviews that really went off in the weird Places video.
But video leaked of Olivia Wilde's part of the conversation

and now Harry styled kissing Nick Kroll at the at
the premiere, and it had something to do this is
like better in that and this is like better than

really I think in all of this, I'm rooting for
Florence Pew. I think she's the one I'm rooting for

saying it today, Hey, I know he's at an injury
has been out, but we could have Zach. We're gonna
see how that new responds today tomorrow, and uh we'll
have an AX for everybody on Wednesday, all right, So
there's a possibility he could play on Sunday. Is that
surprising at all, Robert, given of what the kind of

initial prognosis was. Uh, No, everyone heals differently. It's like
I said, we'll see what happens tomorrow and all that stuff,
but everyone has a different It's like I almost feel
like some of the guidelines that are put on our
um their guidelines, but everyone responds deffinitely. Yeah, I'm being
quite honest as a fan, I don't know quite how

I feel about, Okay, Zach Wilson's ready, because I Joe
Flacco is a better quarterback and he's more made for
the system, but Jack Wilson's kind of play. I I

they cut, seven guys wind up getting signed by other

teams right away. The Jets kept everybody. The Jets defense
is gonna be really good. They have playmakers. I'm just
not excited about Zach Wilson. I'm sorry, I'm not. I
don't I don't see the big jump I want. I
hope Troy Aikman is right when he said he sees
great things for Zach Wilson. I hope he's got I
don't see it. I don't see Zack Wilson. And more
so than that, the complete opposite is happening. How I

thought this was gonna go for the Jets right now
and now? And I'll take you into something where we
have to understand about gods with short ropes at quarterback
who may not be there for a long time. Mitchell Robiski, Um,
what did I tell you when the injury happened. Joe
Flacco is better for this system. Mike White is probably
better in this system than Zack Wilson is. So they're
gonna take their time with Zach Wilson. And you're gonna
(20:31):
see Joe Flacco for a while because if he's good. Hey,
they want to win football games. This is the Jets
team that was made in the off season to be
to bring in talent. They want to win. They got
they they have to They have to show that the
cities we made were right. We want to come in
here and win games. And it's going to be as
soon as Zach is right. We don't want to rush him.

He's coming in. Zach is our future. The fact that
Robert Sale has said the last week and a half,
when Zach is ready, he's going in. No matter what.
When Zach is ready, he's going in. He's gonna play.
He's our guy. I like it because he's being very forceful. Look,
I don't want to cause the controversy here Zach Wilson's
(21:11):
but let me throw this out there at you because
I look at Zach Wilson being the guy because the
Jets want to find out about him as soon as possible.
Because if Zack Wilson stinks, they're not gonna punt on
the season, They're gonna go to Flacco or Mike White,
and he's gonna They're gonna play the rest of the year.

If they feel that those guys can help get the
Jets to the point where they're playing meaningful games in December.
That's the goal. If we want to play meaningful games
in December. And if Zach Wilson is not good, then
they're done and there's gonna be a lot of quarterbacks
available in the draft next year. The Jets have a
lot of picks. Maybe you know we're gonna go quarterback
hunting again next offseason. Zach Wilson has the early part
(21:52):
of this season to show I got it, I can
be a franchise quarterback, or he's done. Because the Jets
aren't gonna just throw them out there and and and
quit the season. He'll get a little bit of time.
But if he shows that I really can't do it
and the offense is not moving, then you know what, Sorry, Zach,
You're done. And a lot of it is scheme over player,
because the Jets are going with this offensive scheme that
(22:12):
doesn't really suit Zach Wilson's strengths of being a pocket
passer and getting outside and making plays with his legs
and making throws that that other quarterbacks wouldn't make. It's
not a great system for him. But in the end,
this is what the Jets want to do, and so
he's only gonna get a limited amount of time before
he loses his job. So they want to know this
right away because if Zach's great, okay, great, he's our guy.
But if not, we're gonna get by with another couple
(22:34):
of guys. And then in the off season we're going
to get another quarterback in Zach Wilson's gonna be someone
who they're gonna Sam Donald him and okay, you want Zach,
good luck, We'll we'll trade him for somewhere else. We'll
get a couple of the draft picks for maybe one
draft pick because teams are gonna be nervous because well,
the Panthers get up a lot for Sam Donald and
that didn't work out. But the Jets will be onto
another quarterback. So that's what Zach Wilson has. So seeing
(22:56):
Robert Sali say, nos, Zack's our guy. Zack's our guy.
While yes, it is confidence in what your next quarterback
is going to be your franchise quarterback. Now, this is
we're gonna find out about him soon and if he's
not good, guess what it's gonna be another couple of
guys coming in to try to get it done. For See,
the thing I read most out of this is Robert
slid is very confident about his job security. That's the
(23:18):
other part of it. If he's gonna say, hey, this
is my guy no matter what, because Joe Blacko. And
this is where we get into these debates about players, right,
going back to your your hatred of Mitchell Robinsky. I
don't know how he hurt you, but the the idea
of being in Pittsburgh, they want to go five hundred
or better. Seemingly, if they happen to go eleven and six,
(23:39):
that's great, but just don't fall below that five hundred line.
And with the veteran you get off, probably do a
better better start. With Zach Wilson and the Jets, you've
really upgraded and changed that roster over the last twenty
four months, right, it is really a much different looking squad.
You've got talent at the running back position. In fact,
(24:02):
in any fantasy draft folks have done through the last
week or two, been a lot of debate of which
guy you're going after, right, because Carter is still the
starter in name, but you look at Breece Hall coming
in and obviously people are very excited about his upside.
Then you go to the receiver position, bring in Garrett Wilson.
I mean there there's a lot of excitement at least
(24:23):
on the perimeter. Now it's just who's pulling the trigger
and can you generate offense? You know what Joe Flacco is.
He's good enough to just win you just enough games
to where those first round picks or whatever don't look
as a sexy Whereas Zach Wilson you're hoping and wishing
that you finally got one of those top five quarterback picks,
(24:43):
right and that he can be the leader that you're hoping.
Robert Salez in no man's land right now with some
of this, but has to talk up his guy because
that's the guy they invested in. Joe Flacco is just
made Look, he called him a starter, remember that famous thing. Hey,
he's a star. I don't know he drum up trade interested?
What do you do whatever? There? Because that that quote
(25:07):
is gonna come back on him here in short order, right,
especially if Zach Wilson comes out in game one because
he's missed a month, he'll stink. But but we've seen
what he brings to the table. The hard part with this, guys,
is that he's missed several weeks of your your preseason.

In these final weeks of practices and just saying all right,
jump back in there when he was already so unpolished
and the offense was so pathetic, I was gonna sugarcoat it,
but let's just call h. I mean, I was trying
to be nice. I mean, the guys sitting five feet
for me. I didn't want to just be like stabbing

him he's sitting here. But yeah, Robert sale In. The
real big takeaway from me is he's a guy that's
very confident. He's back three. However, I think because the
rest of the team is going to be good. They
made all the right moves, they made all the right
personnel decisions. The defense is going to be very very good. Right,
but at the losses stack up, right, But if they lose,
(26:13):
they're gonna lose because Zack Wilson's not good. And that's okay, Well,
we got everything else. We got the quarterback wrong. Hey,
Joe d you got the quarterback? Were fired? Realize it's
it's it's you didn't get the right guy for your system.
You should have built it more around. But okay, Zack
Wilson doesn't win games, they're all fired. Jets are gonna
(26:35):
be on the wrong side of a lot of thirteen
six games this year, so you're betting the under some
regularity on the wrong side of that. Now another quarterback
derby that is happening right now, I'll tell you exactly
how it's gonna go in college football. Michigan rolled to
a Week one win, and we knew that this was
going to be a thing because Jim Harbaugh decided to
(27:00):
would not many people have done in college football. He
still has not decided whether it's going to be Kate
McNamara or j. J. McCarthy as his quarterback. McCarthy's the
recruit that had a high pedigree, played a little bit
last year. Kate McNamara more of a game manager. But
when's the big ten gets the college football playoff? The
plan was from mcnamaray start against Colorado State, and now J. J.
McCarthy's gonna start against Why which there could be a
(27:22):
fifty point spread, because why, boy are they bad scrimmage?
So hardball was asked today, Hey, any changed with what
you want, and he says, no, I'm going with the
same system we have. Both guys are gonna play. He
went with McNamara in game one and J J. McCarthy's
gonna play in game two. I thought things were operating
really smooth in the first half, you know, just finally said,

how's get j J in there? You know? And uh,
and he get and he was. He was electric when
he got in. Uh. I don't feel like I have
to manage it. It's just they're both tremendous competitors and uh,
I mean both both are warriors. You know. I don't
feel like I gotta man kage anything. I just gotta
let him, let him go out there and compete. Yeah, okay,

here's what you hit. I'll tell you exactly what's going
on now. And I'm glad you mentioned the Bible. Yeah,
and the Bible. Week two of the college football season
is always really difficult. Sampson talked about how Week two
after the haircut was much more difficult than Week one
before the haircut. Carmen Fox Sports Radio coach Solomon, I'm sorry,
Coach Harball. Uh, this is why the quarterback battle is

going this way. Jim Harball wants J. J. McCarthy to
be the quarterback. He wants him to be the quarterback.
He's the highest quarterback recruit he has. He's dynamic. You
heard him say he went out there was electric. Kate
McNamara is a game manager. But if the guy who
won you the Big Ten and got you to the
playoff is suddenly benched, you don't know how that's going
(28:50):
to affect the team. The team went to war with
McNamara all year last year, and he played well in
the preseason. In the off season, McCarthy was good too.
You know the reason Hardball is doing this is because
he wants to go to McCarthy. Right, you're coming off
the most successful season he just had. Why would you
not leave your quarterback in there? Yeah, that's great. Kaid's

our guy, and and maybe no, no, no, I'm throwing
it out there upen. He wants McCarthy to be the guy,
and he set it up this way, right. He knows, alright,
we're gonna have one kind of week against Colorado State
and then Hawaii. You can see J. J. McCarthy throwing
for five touch on and suddenly J. J. McCarthy slowly
starts a quarterback from Michigan. He wants McCarthy to be
the quarterback, but he's very cognizant of what that change
(29:32):
could mean to his team. He doesn't want to make
a change and have it be a rough transition where hey,
they lose a game or two here, the team is
not his focus. Some of them don't believe in in
McCarthy over McNamara. He's got to make it seem like
I have no choice. This is the natural evolution of
this team. That's why he's opening up the way. He
has all this stuff with Solomon in the Bible, and
(29:52):
this is because that's what he wants to do. He
wants to be McCarthy. But he's got to manage it carefully.
He's got a nuance it so he doesn't wind up
losing the team and he's got to go to McCarthy
at the right time. But McCarthy is gonna be the quarterback.
In fact, I'll even tell you this middle of the season,
Kate McNamara may not even be on the roster. Well,
but that's the other thing he might that you're trying
to massage in all of this process is knowing what
(30:13):
the transfer portal does to the game anymore, he loses
that gig. He might not even be on the rost,
and you're fearful of losing one or the other based
on how you manage this opportunity. And I think for
coach Hardball, that's as big as uh well, he's probably
spent more time on that than game planning for Hawaii.
We're just gonna go out We don't need to practice week.
We're just gonna go out there and do it. So there, there,
(30:33):
there's your big bull prediction. Mccarthur will be the quarterback,
and then is mcnamary even They want to do it
before the fourth game so we can get another year
of eligibility and go somewhere right away. Really, he may
not even be on the team in the middle of

he was supposed to get traded and he didn't, and
you were taking that into account at the time. But
one bold prediction that I got a percent right, that
is now a certainty. No matter if he doesn't play
another game the rest of the year, it's not gonna

It is high. That is far. God, I have never
seen a player have a year like this. Unbelievable, Aaron Judge,

been kind of fun to watch and people get into
their camps right and certainly before the season, you were
there and we talked about it. He was fourth on
the a L and the the odds as I'm looking
at it, yet Otani, then Trout, then Vlad Guerrero Jr.
And then a distant fourth was Judge at sixteen to one. Uh.

He was just ahead of while people betting on Wander Franco.
I don't know if they were all trading card investors
or what. But the idea of being all right, a
little a little bit of juice. You had the two
Angels stars right at the top, and he's been phenomenal.
But the fact that we're still having the Otani argument
