You know, let's just stuff for one second. Okay. The
Braves taking over first place is not it's not like
it's a new year. It's not like we counted down
to zero and we and we ushered in a new year.
Oh it's three, Okay, it's it's not. They've been playing

(01:08):
great all year long. Yes, they were close. They've been
close there in first place by after a hundred fifty
five days for the first time this season. Yeah, okay,
it happens. It happens, It happens, but it says, oh
my goodness, look at this. It's it's not the collapse.
It's not what It's not what people are saying. It's
just not the Braves are in first place. I get it,

(01:31):
you're the meltout is on frost. This just, you know,
just the way, especially on social media, see people the
very day start Braves. You did five months of peacocky.
You've been caught first time in five days. Man. I

(01:53):
told you to enjoy it, Jason, and I don't think
you did show it because it's over. Just like a
wrestling event where you've got your arm raised and then
your tag team partner turns on you. That's exactly what
happened here. He's like, oh my god, look, it's like

(02:13):
the Mysterios last week when the dude suddenly kick guy
in the crotch and then beat up on his uncle.
I told you not to let the dumb trumpet guy
on the field. I tried to tell you. Are they
happy he made his grand off those autographs he signed
for Tops? Now? No, I bet you they wish they
could take that back. I want to I want to

(02:35):
sign more autographs. Dude, the team is not in first
place anymore. You're done. You're done. You're You're on the
D list with Kathy Griffin. All right, that's where you are, right,
Just just hang out down there to me trumpet bad
bad look. I'm telling you. You can say, but you
can't disagree with me. The Braves are killers, a different
mentality for every game they do. They're killers. They're absolute killers.

(02:59):
I mean, they're a team full of Vorhees and Michael
Myers and the Mets are a talented team going out.
Why doesn't the why does this car always get into gear?
I don't understand. Boy, Sometimes it runs great. Sometimes I
don't understand now that every single night the Braves they
just they did this without Freddie Freeman, and his soul

(03:20):
is still there, isn't it. Well no, but listen, listen,
you just wait until Freddie Freeman sues to go back
to the Braves next year. He's gonna try to get
out of his contract to night. Sure, you know, in
another year when Paul Goldmitt's not hitting three fifty and uh,

(03:40):
Freddie freemould get some big time m v P votes.
I mean, I know, I know we were talking about
Bets and gold Schmidt and you know Alonso lead, yeah,
and and Mookie Betts getting all the all the run
obviously the Dodgers, but that's now that he plays second
base too, that an eligibility for fantasy ace ball, absolutely huge.

(04:03):
But Freddie Freeman has had another kind of year like that, man.
I mean he's he really has, I mean all he's
done his rake And that's why this whole fun crying
controversy has been it's been fun. Why because Freddie Freeman
is still hitting three thirty it doesn't matter. I mean,
he has had a phenomenal season and he doesn't get
any of the m v P run and he should.
You know, the year where the Dodgers were all stop

(04:24):
and go and and for part of the look, Max
Munsey couldn't hit and Cody Bellinger couldn't hit, and hey,
Mookie Betts is terrific. But you're not getting what you
got from the Dodgers, you know, top to bottom like
you normally do. I mean, Freddie Freeman's coming, he is,
he has saved the team. I mean, the guy's hitting
three four. I mean he's number two in in in
the league, and in hit he's got the most hits
in in in UH in Major League Baseball. I mean

(04:46):
they already it's got eighty four r B I two
still in everything. I mean, the guy everything. This is
a guy that you were, you know, lambasting uh and
just having your your fun with about his emotions and
being a glass in a glass case of emotions. And
now you're you're you're trumpeting his success. But I can't.

(05:07):
I can't lie and say he hasn't been great. Of
course he's been great. No, this is normally where you
downplay it, talking about the greatness of the Dodgers top
to bottom and whatever else. That's what it is. I mean, really,
I mean really, Freddie Freeman m v P votes, Yeah,
kind of kind of Freddy. I mean not in the
American League, where I told you before the season started,

(05:27):
Aaron Judge was going to be a l m v P.
So that guy got hurt, and even then he was
still so far behind. He couldn't even see Aaron Judge,
you know, just looking in the rear view mirror, and
he was nowhere to be found. That's what I'm worried about.
If the Yankees collapse, can every Judge still when the
empty well, I mean like if they collapse and fault
completely out, it's like, oh, Eric, there are a lot

(05:48):
of people doing their deep thought pieces to try to
convince everybody that show Ayo Toni should be the guy. Well,
it's easier to be because he won that tenth game
that it looks yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. He's never done
it with Ted Well, he did it with nine last year.
That was really hurting. H man, it was tough. I mean, look,
the Yankees are gonna make the playoffs, but if they collapse,

(06:11):
if they collapse and something they're in an early round series,
I don't know. Is this Aaron Judge gonna lose in
the end? I don't think it's gonna be close. Like
we're we're talking about oh Otani and Judge, but when
the voting comes out, it's not even gonna be close.
It's gonna be Aaron Judge in or in a runaway
over Otani. People. It's it's not gonna you know, we're
just throwing guys out there, who Hey, this guy could

(06:31):
be the m v P. He could be the m
v P. But in the end, it's gonna be Aaron
Judge and Paul gold Schmidt. I think that that's kind
of how it's gonna go. The way the Cardinals have
run away with the division now after the Brewers make
the trade, the Josh Hayter trade that just has crushed
their season. Uh yeah, gold Schmidt, Naron Judge. I think
it's gonna be pretty easy there for for m v P.
For both leagues. It seems pretty elemental, just like making

(06:53):
a big winning pick a week National Football League. So
here we are happy Football fry. Ay. We're gonna go
to Vegas coming up in a few minutes and find
out what they think about some of the big matchups
this weekend in college football in the NFL. But Mike
and I do it every Friday night here on the show.
We give you are big upset special picks for college

(07:13):
football and the National Football League. We always do top
twenty five teams in college NFL games will kick things
off in college. I am gonna go for I. I
don't feel great about this, and I know I'm gonna
sweat this out. But Texas getting anywhere from twenty to

(07:34):
twenty one and a half depending on where you want
to get your bets from their offense is pretty good,
and I'm not saying they're gonna win the game. I'm
not saying they're as good a team as Alabama. But
can they hang with Alabama for a while. They can score.
We don't know how good Alabama's defense is, so I
can see this being somewhat of a game where Texas

(07:55):
and striking distance for a while, but points is way
too much. I I see this is Hey, if if
the if the Crimson Tide win this one and Bryce
Young throws five touchdowns, yeah, I can see that. But
Texas is pretty good and their offense is pretty good.
Quinn yours is pretty good. Uh yeah, I I think

(08:16):
they stay with them enough to cover that three touchdown spread.
Give me Texas getting one. Love it. Ben Hill Griffin
Stadium in Gainesville, Florida. The number twenty Kentucky wild Cats
come in as a six point underdog against the number
twelve Gators. Your guy Richardson the hisman guy, Well, you
know what, I'm trumping you this time around, taking the

(08:38):
six and they're winning out right. Will Levis the quarterback
and Cavassi a smoke. That's right. His name is Cavassi
a damn right, he's your leading rusher. Tavian Robinson. Let's
go four oh and one against the spread against Florida
in their last five games, including a twenty to thirteen

(09:00):
in last season. Cavassier smoke. Look at you talk about horns.
Are they're gonna before the end of the All right, Now,
let's get to the NFL. And when I made my

(09:21):
NFL decision for these games, it made me feel weird
because the teams I'm picking, but I like the games
and I'm gonna make Mike Harmon really happy because I'm
taking the Bears over the forty nine or seven and
seven and a half, where wherever you're looking, the Bears
are going to give Trade Lance trouble. Tray Lance is

(09:42):
not great. He's not gonna come in somethdy like the
world on fire. They're going to struggle. It's gonna be
a struggle game. And Justin Fields, he's my breakout guy
for this year quarterback in the NFL. He will give
the Niners defense problems. Not that he's gonna put up
thirty eight points and throw five touchdowns, but be able
to control the ball. The Bears are able to keep
it away from the from the forty Niners, stopping them

(10:04):
from getting in a rhythm. It's gonna be a low
scoring game. I like the Bears on the field. I
like the Bears to win this game on the field
and something of the Jimmy Garoppolo watches starting in San Francisco.
How long can the Niners trust Trey Lands before they
go back to Jimmy Garoppolo. I'll take the Bears on
the field, but I'm not gonna turn down the points.
In my Carmen, I will take the points for this game.

(10:26):
One thing to know. They put down new turf. It
looks great, right, it looks fantastic and soul the field.
Here's the problem, chance of rain. All that money, it's
gonna be just like Welcome to Wrexham. It's not gonna look.
I have to get out there. I'm gonna take Houston
getting six and a half at home versus Indianapolis. No
Shaquillo Leonard, He's out. Secondary has its questions for the Colts,

(10:50):
as well as who's catching passes alongside Michael Pittman Jr.
I'm looking at Houston with Niko Collins, with Brandon Cooks,
Dadian Years, everybody's on board him and of course Davis Mills,
your top five fantasy guy that you were talking about
in your bold predictions as we did those, uh a
little bit earlier in the fantasy. Yeah, I'm getting it done.

(11:14):
So I'm gonna take Houston at home plus nearly a touchdown.
I like it. Game one for Matt Ryan's gonna be
a miserable experience, you know me. I love Davis Mills,
and I love the way they're gonna throw the football.
That's gonna be awesome. Uh. The other game I like,
and this is this is a tough one because I
always I never want to pick my team. But the

(11:35):
Ravens are going through a lot of upheaval right now.
They couldn't come to an agreement with Lamar Jackson for
his contract extension. This means they're gonna wind up trading
him at some point, probably after the season. This is
gonna hang over the team on the field. Their running
backs are unhealthy. Mike Davis is going to start. It's
gonna be really difficult because the Jets defense is good.

(11:56):
I know they're gonna be very good. The offense is
not because Wilson's not very good, but the defense is good.
The defensive line is good, the defensive backs the changes
they made in the off season, Sauce Gardner, They're gonna
be difficult to score on this year. They're gonna be
on the wrong side of a lot of sixteen thirteen,
twenty sixteen kind of games. But the defense is gonna

(12:17):
be good. They're gonna get out fast. The Joe Flacco
revenge game, they'll score a couple of times early, but
eventually the Ravens will reel the Jets in. It'll be close.
I'll take the Ravens twenty but seven seven and a
half for this one. Yeah, give me the Jets getting
seven seven and a half for them to cover Week
one against Baltimore. I like that we're taking all these

(12:37):
games that are supposed to be these slug fests with
no points scored as our games because I'm gonna finish
this UH four team run in the National Football League
by looking at the New England Patriots tan rested, UH
and hydrated ready to take on the Dolphins getting three
and a half on the road. I know we've had

(12:57):
all those great status Jason Cole gave us earlier about
the Dolphins and one o'clock windows on Sundays in September
h and all that fun stuff. It was a new
day yesterday, it's an old day now. And yes, I
I know I uh am being a little incongruous with
taking into pass uh. New England also doing a lot
of things that they haven't h in the past from

(13:18):
a coaching perspective, trying to change up their lot down
there in South Florida. And I'm saying it's just good
enough because why because the defense will be good enough
to torment to a tongue of Byla into a turnover
or two short fields make the difference here in New
England plus three and a half. Oh, they've been in
Miami for eight weeks now, getting ready for this game.
My Carmen are all struggled up. Yeah, they're all set

(13:41):
to go. Hey, just got that spray tag going hoh.
I feel really good about this game. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
Harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern seven pm Pacific. No,
the Mets were in first place, but they're not anymore
now because the Eves they just won't lose, and the

(14:03):
Mets they decided to lose and lose and lose. Fox
Sports Radio The Jason Smith Show with my best friend
Mike Harmon, live from the tire Act dot Com Studios.
Get list is the whole show. Week one of the
National Football League is upon us. We watched the Rams

(14:24):
and the Bills. Well, we watched the Bills when thirty
one ten last night. What do we see coming up
this weekend? Nobody better to talk to than our insider
in Las Vegas. Former odds maker at Caesar's check Out
Hiss Bet the Board podcast. Also you see him on
CBS longtime Front of the show, Todd Ferman. Todd, what's happening, buddy? Gentlemen?

(14:46):
It only took a hundred thirty nine games, or since
April seven for the universe to correct itself. The New
York Metropolitans are staring up at the standings at the
Atlanta Brave. So Smith, I want to make sure that
harm and Frostburg has taken away all those sharp objects,
because we know how this goes. It doesn't get any
better from here. You just found another sandwich. He's okay.
I have said I am at peace with this. I

(15:08):
knew this was coming because a Mets be the Braves
have been unbelievable since June one and see Mets. So
I'm okay, I'm at peace with this thought. I really am. Well,
you know it's a good thing, faith, because starting Sunday,
you'll have another team to break your heart when the
jack kick off their season in earnest. So maybe you
pin all your hopes and dreams on a big, dominating

(15:29):
win from your Orange on the road against the Yukon
Husky tomorrow. Oh yeah, the road to bull eligibility, Todd,
I'm already crossing it off. We're there, We're getting there.
We're getting there. Every every journey starts with the first step.
And beating Louisville out right in the short home Monder
talk at the Carrier Dome last weekend may provide just
a glimmer of hope that they can get to six wins.
All right, let's uh, let's start with college football. The

(15:51):
Marquee game tomorrow, Alabama and Texas. Still, Alabama is a
huge three touchdown favorite. I like Texas staying close within
the three touchdowns in this game. There's no way they
can beat them, but I think they can hang with
them enough. Well, how do you see this? I mean,
the biggest question is Texas ready for a moment of
this magnitude. There's so much youth I'll be at talented

(16:13):
along the offensive line. Queen Yours has a petigree at
least theoretically to be a game changing quarterback talent under center,
we know what be Jean Robinson can do. The problem
for that Texas offense is they're going to be matched
up with arguably the best defense in all of college football.
And you're talking about grown men against boys in the trenches,
which can make life absolutely miserable. The other problem for
Texas on the other side, you're gonna need their defense

(16:35):
to step up and at least provide a roadblock for
what an Alabama wants to do. And well, I don't
see this Crimson Tide offense and nearly as explosive at
least now is what we saw last season. Jamir Gibbs
is still a matchup nightmare. This number is, though a
little bit rich. I mean I made it seventeen seventeen
and a half, so at twenty one, the value play
would be Texas. Honestly, though, it's not a game that's
gonna make in my card, it wouldn't shock me at

(16:56):
all of Alabama had a two touchdown lead going in
the second quarter, and you started to see the long
horned Faithful make a bee line for the parking lot
somewhere around halftime, Todd one of the things on the
schedule week two, right, we had zero one to However,
we want a number of things, a lot of big
Jason brings that one that's three touched. Now we got
something that are much higher than that. Forty fifty points

(17:19):
at Michigan game at fifty two. Uh, is there any
rhyme or reason, algorithm wise or history that gives you
numbers and how to win in those type of situations. Yeah,
I mean you're always flirting with a little bit of disaster.
It's a question of how many points Michigan wants to
score in their prime time matchup against Hawai. Look, the
Rainbow Warriors haven't exactly gone out there to leave you

(17:40):
of bringing with confidence. When you lose by fifty three
at home to the college football juggernaut known as the
Vanderbilt Commodours, and you follow it up with a drubbing
at the hands of Western Kentucky, so Michigan can obviously
name the score here. It's a question of when coach
hardball calls off the Dogs. But I will say, a gentleman,
it is interesting when this number open forty six and
a half, it's moved a full touchdown in favor of
the Michigan Wolverine. So it told you that Hodgemakers were

(18:03):
actually overestimating how Hawaii should be power rated. Things is
gonna be real rough in the Islands for Timmy Chang
in his first stint as head coach. All right, Thomas,
head to the NFL. Let me, what's your best bet
of the week? NFL best bet? Jets? Is it? If
it's the Jets, it's okay. No, it is not the
New York Jets. That won't be a game that makes
my car to any capacity. Although I will say you've
seen a little bit of support for the Jets in

(18:25):
the betting market. The sevens have disappeared, were down a
six and a half. It's a question of what this
Baltimore attack will be able to do against the Jets,
and more importantly, how Joe Flacka will handle the US
against the world mentality, because if you read all the
comments coming out of Jets camp, heg it's super Bowl
or bust for game Green just don't tell them their
win total is five and a half slightly shaded to

(18:45):
the over as far as best bet and opportunities For me,
I actually like the Jacksonville Jaguars, but I like him
in the first half. I think you're gonna see Doug
Peterson use some creativity and come up with a unique
game plan to attack a Washington defense that's a little
bit overrated in my opinion. Meanwhile, the other side of
the ball, Carson Wentz. Yes, he's got some decent weapons
and the likes of Antonio Gibson and Terry McLaurin. But

(19:06):
I think it could be a long year in the
Nation's capital. And it wouldn't shock me at all if
Scott Turner and the Washington commanders were smart and maybe
considered making a move to Sam Howell. If this team
starts off extremely poorly, look at that more than one
revenge game on the docket for this one. But I'll
go to the a f C North Pittsburgh on the
road against Cincinnati. Cincinnati, given what six or six and

(19:29):
a half with a forty four total on it can
Mitchell Rabinsky pulled the upset. I mean a little bit
of optimism for the Steelers as far as the weapons
that they'll have available, Deonte Johnson was touching go. If
you believe the injury report that came out earlier today,
he should be upgraded. So it gives them at least
a full compliment of playmakers on the outside. But the
biggest question for the Steelers isn't what they have a

(19:50):
wide receiver. It's at the guys in the trenches will
hold up. And this is arguably one of the league's
worst offensive line. The Bengals defensively will try and get
after you. Trey Hendrickson put together tremendous numbers last here.
But it is worth considering that the Steelers have thrived
as an underdog in the division. It doesn't hasn't happened often,
but when you're looking over the last eleven games, they're
nine and two against the spread as a divisional dog,

(20:10):
going seven and four straight up dating back to two eighteen.
And if we go a little bit wider in terms
of coach Tomlin and what he's done as in his
coaching career as an underdog eighteen six and two against
the spread success rate rivals out of Bill Belichick, Steelers
defense is going to have to be the difference here,
and they're gonna need to figure out something that they
weren't able to do in the two meetings last year.

(20:32):
Sell out to stop Joe Mixon or at least put
seventeen different men on Jamaar Chase and make somebody else
wearing Bengals tiger stripes beat you all right, Todd Sunday
Night Game of the Week. We're gonna get to finally
see Tom Brady play Dak Prescott well after changing his fleets.
We're gonna get to see him play uh Cowboys in
this game at home. Three point underdog again. They get

(20:54):
to open up against the Bucks. Are they walking away
with a win or is it Tom Brady with a victory?
You know, I actually like the road favorite here. I
think everyone has written the Bucks off. If you read
all the people in the media that want to get
real cute and figure out how they can dethrone a
division champion. They're already starting to crown the New Orleans
Saints the team to beat in the South. And until
Tom Brady shows me that he's got nothing left in

(21:14):
the tank, I just can't buy into that storyline. There's
no player and maybe all of pro sports right now
that loves when he gets written off, and I think
that's what people are expecting Tom Brady to fall off
a cliff or not to be crisp, given the fact
that he had to take some personal time away. But
one thing for the boxes, I'm not as optimistic that
Chris Godwin will actually be out there for Sunday's game

(21:34):
as some, but I don't think it truly matters because
there are a bevy of weapons at their disposal. I
look at this Cowboys team and I think this is
stock that you kind of want to sell. Jerry Jones
having hard time doing basic arithmetic doesn't bode well when
one plus one equals three. Uh, and as far as
Jerry's concerned, one plus one may not equal the points
they need to cover this game. I like Camp on
the Road. Jason spitshell with my Garment here Fox Sports Radio,

(21:58):
as he does every Buddy Todd Ferman joins us here,
co founder of the Bet the Board podcast at Bet
the Board Pod for the best information you're gonna find
college bro, auto racing, you name it. I think he
also just handicapped a game of hop scotch down the
street at Todd Ferman is where you find him on Twitter.

(22:19):
Monday Night Football. Russell Wilson the Denver Broncos. Some excited,
some not six and a half? Is the line? Are?
Is Geno Smith alive? Dog? Here? I actually think if
the number gets to seven, the only way to look
would be towards those Seattle Seahawks, because they're going to
play inspired football here. We know there's no love lost
between these two teams. The war of words or Seattle

(22:41):
slandering Russell Wilson like they've done over the last forty
eight hours a little bit surprising to me. This is
a Denver team that's gonna be good, but I think
it could take time to jail with the first year
head coach and Russ familiarizing himself with some of the
weapons that are out there. Defensively, I want to see
a little bit more from Denver, knowing how inexperienced a
lot of their linebackers are playing with one another, and
Seattle is not going to light the world on fire

(23:02):
as long as they can protect Gino Smith. He does
have some playmakers, whether it's DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, or
getting the ball to a shot Penny. I think this
game will be close. I think Russell Wilson gets a
warm welcome when he rise with that fan base would
love nothing more than to spoil his coming out party here.
I think it could be a field goal game late
and I have a strong, strong lean towards the Seahawks,
especially if I can get seven. Note to self, Todd

(23:24):
Furman says, Geno Smith, NFL m v P. And write
that down, Gino Smith, however you choose the paraphrase here,
I will say one thing for Seahawks fans who think
this is a resurrection of sorts and they can go
back to a full rebuild from the studs up and
create that legion of boom and get another quarterback, it
would be much better for them to finish two and
fifteen this year than Gino Smith take them on a

(23:46):
path to mediocrity where they're unable to draft a franchise
talent at the quarterback position. That would be the title
of the NFL films for the Seahawks, Gino Smith, the
path to mediocrity. That would be Hey, that might be
a b that might be a win. But you know
what Smith. You know Smith has one impressive trend working
in his favor. Eight straight games where he started eight
straight covers. The problem is those eight games span about

(24:08):
thirty seven years of NFL football, so I'm not sure
how relevant is when you're going back to two thousands.
All right, let me ask you this, Todd. If I
said give me the over under, you would say for
the week Jimmy Garoppolo takes over at quarterbacks of what week?
Are you? Are you giving me halftime of Week one
against the Bears? Are you giving me week for? What

(24:31):
are you giving me? You know I'm not gonna go
that early, but I mean, I guess the biggest handicap
is does it happen because of Trey Lance is ineffective player?
Does it happen because Trey Lance goes down to injury?
So that's the hundred million dollar question. I mean, I
looked through the schedule for the forty Niners and it's
extremely manageable. Out of the gates. You know, maybe we
get Jimmy Garoppolo Sunday October when they play host to

(24:51):
the Kansas City Chiefs, and Jimmy can exact a measure
revenge for the super Bowl that got away and that
forty yard bomb. He'll shorten it a little bit. He'll
be able to catch a receiver and stride. Uh. And
that's where we see Jimmy debut in season. WHOA look
at you. He's on Twitter at Todd Ferman. That is
at Todd Ferman. Check out the Better Board podcast. See
him on CBS. Todd as always, man, appreciate you and

(25:15):
appreciate your time. And I just look at it this
way with the Mets. Now's my time to bet the
Mets when they were the favorites. At now I'm going
to get better odds because they're not in first place. Hey,
it's a glass half full mentality. And you know what,
I think you'll enjoy more Smith. Think about it this way,
they'll have a chance to play three extra postseason games
given the new playoff format as well, so you'll really
be able to reap the benefit. Yeah, that's gonna be great.

(25:36):
Thank you, Yeah, great, great to thank you. Be sure
to catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with

Make that Deal with God, Fox Sports Radio. The Jason
Smith Show with My best friend Mike Harmon. Hear me

(25:59):
my length, wait right now, is like a big workout
video on the show. Because Josh Hayter and Craig Kimberl,
two of the biggest closers that you sweat every game.
They're in there pitching in the same game against each other.
Hayter gets out of the top of the ninth and
now Craig Kimberl is on let it Go, Let it

(26:22):
go out. He got one out in the bottom of
the ninth thing, but he got out, and since he's
gone to Let it Go, he's been great. You know,
maybe Narco was so August and Let It Go is
so September. Maybe that's how it goes, especially when you've
got nine thousand, d twenty three announcements to to roll

(26:44):
out with all sorts of Disney content, that let It
Go has to be the song that defines it all.
How about that man, Josh Hayter and Craig Kimberl in
the same game. Well, I mean it had to happen
and all that's made the night started with a rain
delay in San Diego for crying out like, yeah, that's true.
You know what they should do? What's that they should
zoom in Kenny Jansen to the broadcast, so all three

(27:06):
of them are on there. He is on the jumbo
tron waving at you, so he could talk about the game.
But I'd be real nervous right now. Oh, I'd be
so nervous right now here. He's gonna get him on too.
Oh hasn't been his fault, So it's it's all I
told you it was Timmy Trumpet's fault. And yes, and
then sein Felt stole the takes your take from us. Yes,

(27:31):
we had it, and then the next day suddenly it's
all Timmy Trumpet's fault. We're out of first place. I mean,
prosperg did give him an L. He did middle initial,
he did Timmy L. Trump And I gotta say that
the middle. They've had a lot of else since Timmy
Trumpet was there. Uh So I get with the Wallace

(27:53):
and Grommed Trumpet instead. We'll keep you posted if you
know the the Padre is gonna walk off. But part
of our big NFL preview show tonight. Look, we've gotten
over so many we've picked all the all the games
on Sunday, We've given your upset specials. We told you
who's gonna be in the a f C and NFC
championship games. Now it's time to get into who we're

(28:16):
picking for NFL m v P. Now, the thing about
NFL m v P compared to Major League Baseball in
the NBA is that you have to play on a
big time winning team. Right, you can't. You can't play
in a team that's nine in eight. But boy, you
were great all year and through fourt two touchdowns not
gonna happen. That can happen in Major League Baseball. That

(28:36):
can happen in the NBA. You can play in a
team that's just okay. But if you're great, you would
look at Nicola Yoki's right, Hey, they're in the middle
of the pack, but Hello always wins. The m v P.
Can't have it that way in the NFL. Your team
has to win big. You have to play great, and
you have to win big. So that takes out a
lot of people. When I break down who I would

(28:57):
pick for NFL m v P, couple of guys that
come to mind that if I was more confident their
teams would win, I would think about them. But Dak Prescott,
as much as as numbers as he's gonna put up,
the Cowboys aren't gonna be really good. So I can't
pick Dak Prescott. Russell Wilson. He's got the narrative, he's
got the attention. Are the Broncos really gonna be that good?

(29:19):
They're gonna struggle a little bit near one in that division.
That's really really difficult. Can't pick Russell Wilson. But where
do I go? And I give you a little bit
of value with this. Who's gonna run rough shot over
their division? The Philadelphia Eagles. The NFC East is bad.
We talked about this. I like the Eagles to go
to the NFC Championship game. Jalen Hurts is gonna be

(29:41):
responsible for everything that team does on offense. The team
is better this year. They added a J Brown. Miles
Sanders is healthy. He's going to be even better than
he was last year. I look at thirty five total
touchdowns from him. He'll throw for about thirty five yards,
maybe he run is for near to a thousand yards.

(30:02):
And with the Eagles winning, he will gain a lot
of attention. His story will cut through and if the
Eagles win that division something, Hey guess what. Jalen Hurts
is gonna win the m v P. So the team
I'm most confident in that I can go fight. They're
gonna They're gonna do that and be there. Give me
Jalen Hurts. It's easy for me to say, josh Allia, No,
give me Jalen Hurts for the m v P. Give

(30:22):
me that new narrative, and give me the Eagles winning
and going really far. Give me him for m v P.
Looking at a twenty two one shot from mine, yours
was at twenty five to one last died. Look, I'm
gonna say the individual exploits the narrative, the highlight reel,
and the fact that his name will be brought up

(30:42):
often times. Why because people like to wallet check along
the way, and that's Lamar Jackson of your Baltimore Ravens. Yes,
it's a uh cannibalistic kind of thing going on in
the a f C. North. I expect three of the
teams to be good, uh and then the fourth, the
Cleveland Browns, will be around for the a few weeks,
assuming you know, Deshaun Watson comes back and starts winging

(31:04):
it around where they may have a say as to
who wins the division. But I still think that Lamar
stands tall. Wow, look at you see. I like that.
I like that because, as I said, anybody that says
I'm betting on myself this year, because that's what Lamar
Jackson wants. He wants a big time, guaranteed contract, wants
more money than Deshaun Watson got. Look, the Ravens aren't

(31:27):
gonna give it to him, and they hit the deadline
today and they're not going to sign him. So I
would think that even the most staunchest of Ravens fans
knows that this is just the beginning of the end
right there. You you see the end game coming, and
it's gonna be a trade of Lamar Jackson sometime in
the in the off season. Doesn't matter what kind of
year he has. They're not gonna pay him. Long term.

(31:49):
Running quarterbacks don't make it in the NFL, then they
don't want to be stuck at when he's nine. But
we're paying this guy for three more years and he
can't stay on the field anymore. So I get it.
The Ravens are not going to pay them. They would
have paid them already if they want, if they wanted,
So now he knows, all right, they're not gonna pay me.
I got a ball out, man, because I want to
make sure I get some kind of some kind of deal,

(32:09):
and if I have another year that's not good. Maybe
the only team that's coming back to me is the
Ravens and it's at a cut rate. So yeah, no,
I'm with you that Lamar Jackson can have a big year.
I just don't know that they're gonna win enough because
the Bengals are the best Supper Division and the Steelers
are gonna be a little bit better, and if the
Ravens are a playoff caliber team where hey, they're pretty good.

(32:30):
Lamar jack I don't know that that's gonna be enough
for him. Oh I love I love that it comes
down to two narratives and we look at, you know,
some health issues for the Ravens a year ago, as
much as you can point to some of the Lamar hell,
he was hurt for a chunk of the season. So
coming back and looking at the two, what I would
I would love to be a fly on the wall

(32:50):
to know exactly how big the gap is between what
he his mom, who, whatever family memory you want to
throw into the conversation, are asking for versus to Shawn
Watson got between what uh Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray got
where where is he at on that continuum? Uh? And
wondering how far apart they truly are twitter at? How

(33:12):
about a fresca? Mike gets swollen down The Jason Smith
Show with my best friend Mike Harman, live from the
Fox Sports Radio Studios. All right, real quick, couple of
big preview games to pick on Sunday. A lot of
trash talk going back and forth between Aaron Rodgers and
the Packers and the Vikings. Who do you like in
this one? Packers give me the wrong to get it
going and bar Rodgers to come up with one big play?

(33:33):
You know. Alan Lazard is the new Davante Adams, Sure
he is. I'll take the Fings. Give me the Vikings,
they're better on offense. Uh, Browns and the Carolina Panthers.
I'll take the Panthers in a route Christian Miles, Garrett
puts Baker down, Cleveland winds about a fresca. Mike gets swollen.
