Happy Friday and the Jason Smith Show with my bass

the way tire buying should be. So let me just
say this. Louisville tied with Florida State. Florida State who
beat note, but Louisville who lost to Syracuse. Syracuse should
be a top ten team right now. Mike Harmon using
(01:05):
those transitive properties, I think that's how it should work.
The worst thing I ever did was trying to teach
us some math, because look at how look at how
you can apply it to your evil ways because in
Florida c P l s U and I go all
the way down l s U with Brian Kelly everything
through Syracuse should be a top ten team. They should
(01:28):
be a top ten team. And I will say because
I'm rooting for Louisville because every week that Louisville plays
well in the nationally televised game right now, Florida State
in Louisville tied a piece Florida State to and oh
the better Louisville does, the better that crushing win over
Louisville looks, the more votes we get. And I can
(01:48):
buy a T shirt that says top twenty five right
for the first time and forty years to be very excited.
You should start designing one right now. I got it's
just orange with a middle finger on it. No, uh,
it's that's not a bad way to go. Hey, you
know what, you can move a lot of units. Boy,
I'll tell you speak at units. T j uh So,
(02:11):
Happy Football Friday, and you know this is this is great.
You don't get a week two of the NFL season,
another week college football. We got football Fridays all the
way through the end of the year. I know it's
it's hard because you think about how hot it is
right now in the heat wave seems to be breaking
a little bit. I'm already seeing Christmas trees and Costco
Mike Carment, so I'm we're already rolling down that road. Man.
(02:32):
I've already picked out what I'm getting everybody for the
holiday holiday holidays. I'm just debated giving them to the folks,
to y'all early so that you can use them for
your you know, football festivities. But then what do I
get you Christmas? You if it's a sandwich, give it
to me now. I don't save that sandwich till Christmas. No,
I'm gonna save it. Like Homer Simpson, I could never
(02:54):
stay mad at you when he ate the whole sandwich.
It was going bad. You just keep taking bites out
of it, going gray. It's on the top of the trash.
Can I remember that? That was one of the great
episodes of all time? They got a lot of them
to pick from. There's tons, there's tons. Uh. Big night
(03:15):
tonight in Major League Baseball. Obviously, the Mets have already
won and the Braves are down to one in the
eighth inning to the Phillies. Did you see the day
my a l m v P pick had today? Uh yeah, yeah,
And he doesn't matter if he went a month without hit.
That's great. He's only thirty seven behind Judge and he's
(03:38):
second in the American seven. Shut up. I mean this
shows you he hadn't been one a while, he was
hurt out of the lineup had and he's having a
phenomenal year. And then you look at Aaron Judge and
you go, oh wow, yeah, that's uh yeah, that's yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's that's picked a bad time to have a really
good year if he wants to win m v P. Well,
there you going on the other side, you got babe,
Schwarber's got thirty nine now, yeah, fun, fun time a
(04:01):
year though, three more weeks of the regular season. Yeah,
but Schwarber, if I'm right, he's got thirty nine home
runs and forty three RBI. Is that his number? Okay?
I want to come money. Sure, I got that right.
I'm many judges are solo shots, isn't it like yes, yes,
And of course I say it now the braves just
take the bleep and lead, you know, it's to one forever.
I come on the air and say something, and now
(04:23):
suddenly it's three too. I hate baseball. You're spoken into existing.
I know, I know, I hate baseball. I hate baseball.
I hate it. No, you don't hate it, hate it.
The only thing you love more is the concept of
your Syracuse Or suddenly I'm feeling happy about that. And then,
(04:43):
just like when all those closers had perfect innings, it's
another side of the apocalypse. Hey, you know, shouldn't uh,
shouldn't those closers that we talked about, shouldn't hate her?
And Kimbrell and Jansen all come out all their entrance
music should all be gonna make you sweat by a
scene see music actory. Shouldn't that be their entrant music?
Let me forget about let it go? And you know, no, no, no, no, no,
(05:06):
it should be gonna make you sweat, because that's what
happens when these guys come in the game. At least
they're telling you what to expect. I know what to expect.
These guys are coming in. They're gonna make me sweat,
gonna make you sweat till you bleed? Is that dope enough? Indeed,
that should be the entrance entrance songs for all three
of those pictures. I like that. But we begin tonight
get a big night of football. We're gonna give you
(05:26):
our upset special picks. Are gonna preview the college games,
the big NFL games, got some big blowouts, potentially on
the horizon to talk about everything in your wagering interests.
But last night we talked about the I don't want
to say the genius of Adam Silver, but the hot
take that Adam Silver wants Robert Sarver Sons owner band
(05:50):
for life. He's just too afraid to do it right.
And I told you so. And every time you see
Adam Silver do something, you come around to my way
of thinking that he doesn't want to do anything. He's afraid.
He has no spine, he has no backbone. He doesn't
want to take on the players with anything that that's important,
doesn't want to take on the owners with anything that's
important because he works for them. He won't stand up
for a minute when something right needs to be done.
(06:11):
Seventeen years of misbehavior that includes racism, misogyny, and still
Robert Sarver gets a one year suspension. He has this
crazy press conference at which Adam Silver basically point portrays
himself as I'm just the commissioner. I don't know what
to do. I couldn't give him more more of a
punishment than this. I don't know how to equivocate a
ten million dollar fine with an owner with an employee.
(06:33):
I really, I just don't know. And he looked awful
for a day. And then I thought, is this the
plan all along? Because you knew when he stepped out
and did his thing and explained his reasoning, it was
going to be roundly criticized and the players would jump
in and it would get it would get worse for Sarver.
(06:53):
And eventually, as you and I said, Starver is gonna
have control rested away from Eventually he's not going to
be the son's owner. Well what happened. We saw Lebron
James way in this was this is a bad decision.
This is the wrong decision. Chris Paul weighed in, that
was the wrong decision. You had the son's minority owner
a day ago say Sarver needs to be banned. And
now the NBPA executive director to Mika trum mag Leo
(07:17):
said she's speaking on behalf of all the NBA players.
When she called for a lifetime band of Robert Sarver. Okay,
now she says, I am speaking for all the NBA players.
So now it looks like Adam Silver is gonna get
what he wants. He knows he has to get Sarver
out of the league, but he doesn't want to upset
(07:38):
the owners because the owners are gonna be upset and
go away. This is the second owner. Now you kicked
out of the league. Okay, I get that Sterling was racist,
and I get this is bad, but you're starting to
kick owners out of the league and you work for us.
So because of his spinelessness, his plan on this hot
take now really looks like it's legit that he came
out soft on purpose, knowing full well that this was
(08:00):
gonna be the response by the players by the league,
and they weren't going to rest with a one year
suspension for Robert Sarver. So now with this uprising all
across the league that hey, this was wrong and this
needs to be done better, and it does, because I
still can't believe Robert Sarver only gets a year suspension
and he was upset about it. Uh, Now that this happened,
(08:21):
Adam Silver can go back to the owners and said Hey,
the game's in trouble. Uh we I gotta do something here,
and I gotta ban Robert Sarver. I don't want to
do it, but I kind of have to. And the
owners will have to capitulate. They will have to agree
and say, yes, we understand. We know you didn't want
to do it. You gave me a year band. But wow,
the players are really mad. This is really bad. Coaches
don't like and nobody likes this. Yes, we understand, you
(08:43):
have to do what we have to do, and he's
gonna get the right result, which is Robert Sarver out
of the game. The players will be happy because they
will have gotten him out, and the owners, even though
they won't be happy, they will be satisfied that it
wasn't Adam Silver pushing on this saying, hey, I gotta
get another bad owner out of the game. It's almost
as if he shrugged his shoulders saying I can't do
(09:03):
anything else. I have to get rid of the guy.
And the owners are gonna say we understand, and he's
gonna get this whole thing solved and not have to
worry about standing up and making a stand. It's gonna
feel like, well, I have to do this because it's
all laid out for me. Yeah, I'm looking through. And
one of the things as we talked with Rick Bucker
on Wednesday, Jason, and it's the old mantra that runs
(09:25):
through and Rick made sure to to highlight it is,
you know, follow the money and how things start to
flow in terms of large corporate partners to the league, Uh,
to the team itself as you go through. And there
was a big moment earlier where PayPal issued a statement saying, hey,
(09:46):
we're we're not going to renew the deal if Sara
remains involved with the Sons after the season. Paypals deal
with the Sun ends after this season. Now here's the thing.
From everything I'm trying to find, you know, cold hard
numbers to this. The only thing that I've been able
(10:06):
to find a couple of reports that say it's worth
about three million dollars a year. Guess what, three million
dollars a year. Ain't moving the needle, folks. Uh. In
terms of forcing a guy out, They'll find another company
to put a logo on there. But if you have
pressure from some of these sponsors and partners that are
(10:28):
tied to the league's television packages, tied to just overall
the official insert product here of the NBA. Then you
start talking because now we're talking substantive money and maybe
a trickle down effect. But a threat from PayPal about
a three million dollar patch on their their jerseys, that
(10:49):
that's that's a nice start. If you're looking for the
end game of Starver being removed, that's not it. Now
he's still contending, you're taking these things out of context
where I was joking or I didn't understand try and
trying to do all that. You know, I've been in
corporate culture and I've been around here all these years.
I had no idea, but now I'm learning, No, it's
(11:09):
gonna fly right because one of the big arguments they
made was, well, it has been better the last couple
of years, same argument that's been made by the Washington
commanders trying to save the bacon of Snyder up and there.
So it's the financial pressure Lebron and Chris Paul and
everybody's speaking out the guy who has the second most
(11:32):
shares of the sons. I don't know how much weight
that really has, because that becomes a well, you're you're
looking to make a power play. So that's taken with
a grain of salt, but the fact that you do
have people that are part of the larger ownership group,
I guess it does have some weight, just lessened a
bit by the self self interest in that regard, But
(11:56):
it is something for the NBA p A. They've got
to keep pressing it, right, they can't let this die.
And maybe goes back to we had that Sports Illustrated
UH profile of Steph Curry that came out, I think
that was either last week or the week before, where
one of his regrets that he laid out in the
article was not walking away when there was the threat
(12:18):
of a boycott related to Donald Sterling, Curry, Lebron James,
Chris Paul and others may need to lead a similar
and actually execute such a strategy. Uh. If they really
want to push the needle on this one, I'm sure
they will, you know. And and the only reason it
hasn't been even hotter, and it's pretty hot right now
(12:38):
is because we're not playing camp. Teams are together, right,
But for not being together, they seem pretty together, right,
I mean there there Now. Technology is the best of
things and the worst of things, depending on your point
of view. But when guys are in the locker room
every day and they're talking about it, and it's easier
to make plans, easier to say, this is what we're
going to do. I understand, Yes, you have my support.
(13:00):
It would have happened a little bit faster. This may
be a little bit more of a slow burn, but yeah,
it's gonna happen. And if if nothing is done, you
gonna got the players to say we're not gonna play
if if you don't ban them free and then and
then what are you gonna do? Anyways? Adam Silver really
gonna say no, I'm gonna stand behind an owner and
seventeen years of misogynistic behavior, rather than players who are saying, hey,
do the right thing for both men and women and
(13:22):
and and Racilie, are you really gonna do that? He's
Adam Silver really gonna say, yep, I gotta stand behind
Robert Serett. No way, no way. Players are gonna make
this happen. And in the end, it's gonna be the
players who wind up getting the right result. Because this, again,
this is not an allegation, This is not a report.
This was not one night at a holiday party where
(13:44):
I got loose lipped and said things I shouldn't have,
which is still wrong. This is but this is seventeen years. Yeah,
it's systematic and across so many different people. I mean
they interviewed three people, a lot of people. Man, you
got a lot of things. You get a full section
just on interaction with Earl Watson saying don't do that.
(14:05):
What do you what do you think in saying this
that repeating what Draymond had to say in circumstances using
all the language that uh here in two I think
anybody that's older than three knows you can't use. So
it's it's just a curiosity now of how much that
pressure ramps up. And we got a couple of weeks
(14:26):
till they're in camp, right, the first preseason games, I
want to say that the first weekend in October. So
let's let's see. This is gonna ramp up pretty fast.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Jason Smith

we could talk about how with Discovery you can redeem
your rewards for catching any amount of any time. I
mean talk about amazing learn more discovered dot com slash
redeemed rewards terms. They do apply well. Happy football Friday.
We are getting set for a big Saturday where potentially
Syracuse could get the three and oh and jump in
(15:09):
the top twe maybe the top ten, maybe the top five,
top ten? Why not, right, go big, go home. I
don't want to sneak. And if you kept talking and
said top five, yeah, I'm not sneaking in, I want
We're three and we'd beat Louisville. Louisville's not bad, Okay,
we should be in the day. If Notre Dame can
be O and two and still get more votes than us,
come on, man, really, come on, let's say, come on,
come on, come on, but there are no Tree Dame
(15:35):
every day. M S. Pino Cook. Because I would have
this conversation with him. He would say, a party, you're
you're They couldn't shine the shoes of the Notre Dame
players back in the seventies, Montana. And then when you
go fit, he would just do this. You would do
this whole thing about no tre dame, and I say
not youre dame because Beno says notre dame. That's why
I say it a lot of notre dame, notre dame.
(15:55):
No I say notre dame because Pino says notre dame.
That's how I learned it all from Beeto Cook, because
the guys in my neighborhood that had nothing to do
with the school and claimed them, they didn't know how
to pronounce it anyway. So everything I learned in life,
I learned from Beano Cook. But tomorrow there everything kicks
off tomorrow morning right here on Fox Sports Radio's Countdown
(16:16):
to Kickoff presented by bet MGM. Every Saturday and Sunday morning,
three hours before kickoff, tune in tomorrow morning, Saturday nine
m Eastern and Sunday morning at tenna and Eastern. We
take you live all the way to kick Off here
on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio presented
by bet MGM and one of those superstars joining us
now to break down the big day in college football.
(16:36):
You can follow him on Twitter at Jared Lee Smith.
It said Jared Lee Smith, Jared Smith, lead bidding analyst
at pick Wise, co host Fox Sports Radio's Countdown to Kickoff,
presented by bet MGM Jared. What do you think Syracuse
if they win tomorrow? Top five, top three team? Maybe
I do like Syracuse tomorrow, guys, Thanks for having me
(16:57):
on Excited for another week. I was actually looking at
that game right out, um, right before I hopped on,
So it is kind of funny that that's the first
game you lead off with. Garrett Traders numbers look fantastic
and Syracuse's offense only team in the country that has
converted all of their red zone chances while also not
allowing a score in the red zone. Impressive stuff. Garrett
(17:17):
True Syracuse so far this year, number one rated quarterback
the first two weeks of the guy. He's the front
runner for the Heisman Trophy vote ended today. It's Garrett
tread all right, But seriously, tomorrow the big kickoff. You
know you're gonna go right into kickoff with Georgia and
South Carolina. Georgia's brand new number one, but South Carolina
has got a pretty good offense. Can they keep this
(17:38):
one close? Who do you like here? Yeah? So, Georgia
to me is kind of the best team in the
country right now, and I understand that it's on the road,
and it's a it's an SEC game, and all of
those fun things. But when I look at the personnel
on both sides of the football, I just see a
lot of advantages for Georgia. The defense has completely reloaded.
On the outside, they're absolutely act and and on offense,
(18:02):
it looks like Todd Monket is just kind of letting
things go. And I like that because when you look
at Sets and Bennett again, his numbers have been solid too,
and there's not a ton of high end talent on
the outside in terms of path catchers besides maybe the
tight end. But they're kind of just letting Sets and
do his sting, and they're not shackling him like they
(18:23):
did last year because they had that great defense. They
almost said Sets and don't make any mistakes, we're gonna
win the game. Now, I think they're a little bit
more Devil may care at lea sets. The vibe by
get from Todd Munkett and and it's been impress it
so far. So I don't like to lay big numbers
on the road in the SEC, but I would be
surprised if Georgia didn't put a hurt and I mean
set the Rattlers. That terrible. That's what the ratings say
(18:43):
so far. Um he's rating out as a basically a
bottom twenty quarterback in college football. And I just don't
see a lot that I like with South Carolina Jared.
One of the games I've noted Big, Big ten Honk
Midwest Football. Jason will now inundate your inbox with lots
of questions of Syracuse and power rankings going forward. So
power ranking, just just be ready for that going forward ranking.
(19:07):
But hey, you know what we gotta do it. Oklahoma
eleven point favorites at Nebraska. Nebraska in the post Scott
Frost era, you know, trying to get a read on
what they'll look like with interim coach Mickey Joseph at
the helm. This is one of the games that I'm
curious to watch because my Northwestern Wildcats helped usher in
(19:28):
a new era. They're so curious what the first step is. Well,
thank you for giving me this opportunity to bet on Nebraska,
because if it wasn't for that win um by an Ourcoster,
and maybe I still be wallowing in the Scott Frost era.
Right now. Looking at this Nebraska team is just the
maxive under achiever and and look at in the gambling market,
we live for these types of moments because the volatility,
(19:51):
or I guess the unknown of a new head coach
coming in. It gives you a lot of upside. And
obviously the floor is much lower because we really know
what we're gonna get with Mickey Joseph. But I think
we knew what we were getting with Scott Frost, and
that was holding a team back, which was frankly, when
I look at the graves of pretty talented team and
when you stack these two teams up Oklahoma and Nebraska
(20:13):
tow for tow, not a lot separates them in the
just straight up talent department. And I think that's where
you look at Scott Frost and his record, especially in
one score games. Well yeah, I know they didn't win
a lot of those one score games, but if they're
in a lot of one score games, that means that
they're at least in the neighborhood and it maybe just
takes one of these you know, sparks to to you know,
(20:34):
push a team that again has a lot of talent
forward in a positive direction. And again I look at
the quarterback situation, the quarterback matchup here. Both guys are transfers,
they're both having very season. Skyler Compton also at a
ton of experience against Vocal alway through five touchdowns against
them last year as a member of Texas. So I
can see a lot of positives from Nebraska here. And oh,
by the way, Brent Metables his third game as a
(20:55):
head coach, his first true road game in Lincoln, big
New and all the pomp and circles, and you're getting
double digits here with the Cornhuskers. I don't necessarily want
to go so far that they're going to win this game,
but I think this game is going to be close.
Lee Betty analystm pick Wise Coast Fox Sports Radios countdown
to kick off. Jared Smith with us here The Jason
Smith Show with Mike Harmon. All right, so before you
(21:16):
get a couple of top twenty five games, every week,
everybody wants to believe in Notre Dame. No, no, this
week they gotta goa not Okay, okay, this week they
gottaica um Notre Dame. This week? What do you think?
You know? There full of conference? That one? All right?
(21:36):
I don't know what is is that? A? Is that
a B L R G G R R r H.
What is that from J? I got okay man. So
when I look at you know, Pro Football Focus does
a fantastic job of giving me a lot of these
player grades, and I like to dive deep into the
individual matchups and you know, you get red light, green light,
yellow light for kind of matchups and teams and you know, units,
(21:59):
and there's a lot of red on Notre Dames board,
especially as the quarterback position, and that's a very bad thing.
And and the part that surprises me the most. Obviously
it's a backup quarterback and you know, say what you
want about that, what that says about the program and
where the depth is at that position. But I think
the offensive line being subpar is really the thing that
surprises me. They only have one offensive line graded in
(22:20):
the top one hundred of every offensive line grade in
the country so far. That's what Notre Dame should be.
And I know the skill position guys sometimes they hit
or mint, the tight end is really good mayor, but
outside of that, there just isn't a lot of talent.
I'll just Notre Dame, especially offense, and when you have
a team that is clearly scuffling with their confidence. The
(22:40):
one thing that you can overcome is hey, I'm not
gonna get the ball in my playmaker's hands and let
them stay do this do a thing? Well, Notre Dame
really doesn't have that, and now it's the backup quarterback
and even the defense got pushed around by Marshall Leftley,
So it's hard to find positive and you're telling me
I gotta lay and I know Cow awful and trust me,
I'm looking at Cow Louvers right now. There's not a
lot of like about them either. But it's hard to
(23:02):
lay double digits with an offense that had struggling pushing
Mark Marshall around last week. Now Cow is gonna come
in literally a couple of pieces up front, and you
know they have a tax fell roster compared to U,
you know, a power or a group of five rosters.
So I would stay very far away from laying double
digits with the Irish and until further in on this. Okay,
quick one before we get to another top twenty five
(23:23):
to follow up on Notre Dame. How much of a
coefficient do you throw on motivation for a team that
had such heights and now trying to reevaluate what they're
playing for. The motivation was there last week. You know,
they were owing to under Freeman. It was his first
home game and they had lost in in in a
fashion against Ohio States. That gave people a lot of hope.
(23:45):
W they were in that game and then they used
to move it. So the motivation factor in college football,
the only thing that I use that in my handicapping
four is on the left down side. So we'll get
to a game in a little bit um, you know,
perhaps sets a little bit of a letdown game with
b y U and Oregon on on the cougar side.
So that's to me is when I look at motivation,
(24:06):
these are the kids. If you can't get fired up
for a game, then you have a problem. It's when
you are coming off of a win and that high
and you struggle to keep that momentum. That's kind of
how I handicap the momentum side of college football. Well,
you teased it there, b YU getting three and a
half on the road at Oregon. Most people still remembering
(24:29):
Oregon getting absolutely pasted in their opener. How do you
evaluate this one? Oh Man? You know, when you look
at this game, it's really hard to judge Oregon based
on what we saw those first two games. And here's why.
So you get that first game spotlight coach Landing's first
real big test, and it's against Georgia, and we don't
(24:50):
know how good Georgia is because they lost the ton
of talent and it was obvious that Georgia was undervalued
in the market. They expeeded on to make your expectations
for the highest degree. Then they play Eastern Washington last week,
and Eastern Washington typically is a good FCS team. They're
down this year, so they're on the bottom end of
the FCS programs in terms of they're not enough tier
FCS program So you get these opposite data points where
(25:14):
it's really hard to judge what the Oregon is. Then
we look at the b y U side, and they've
been fantastic, exceeding Oddsmaker expectations. Again last week, they i
would say they put together the perfect game plan to
beat Baylor, and despite all of that, the line didn't
move in their favor. And usually when it's sitting at
that three and a half mark, which is kind of
(25:34):
where it is now, and you get an opposite spectrum
game where Oregon gets, you know, embarrassed on national TV
and b y U then the following week win the
rent game. It's usually that hook evaporates and you see
the sharp money, the smart money come in on the
underdog that's looking spunky. Well, the market hasn't moved in
that direction, and that tells me. I think that Oregon
is probably the sharper side here. I think the distinction
(25:57):
I want to make is bone niche at home prepared
on the road, this completion percentage increases about ten percent.
Yard per attempt goes up six to one touchdown to
interception ratio at home, while on the road more interceptions
and touchdowns. Well, Austin Stadium is going to be a
very friendly environment for him. Oregan's got a twenty game
home winning streets It's the third longest in the FBN.
B y U also offensively is going to be hamstrung,
(26:19):
probably without their two best receivers. I don't think we're
going to see a repeat of what we saw from
freshman Chase Roberts, the hundred and twenty two yards on
fifteen targets, hustle through a touchdown pad. B y U
emptied the tank in that game against Baylor. Now you
have to face an Oregon front that's as good as nasty,
and you're without your two top wide receivers. I don't
think they're gonna run it. Well, might not be able
(26:40):
to throw it if they're kind of hamstrung on the outside.
How is b Yle You're gonna move the ball here?
So I think the market is telling you that Oregans
on the right side of this team. So the National
game on Big Fox, after that, another game, I know
you're hot on Michigan State to a know, Washington, to
a know A how do you like this game? And
b If Michigan State starts out three and O does
Meltucker get another ninety five million dollars, Well, maybe he
(27:02):
should make a donation to uh, you know, the Secondary
Academy of of America, because you know that is going
to be the big uh you know match up here
that I'm going to keep a very close eye on.
The Kalen Devor reunion with Michael Panic has been fantastic.
Um fifty eight percent success rate, top ten efficiency rating
for this Husky's offense through two games. I think their
(27:24):
wide receiver group is a little undervalue. They've got some
talent out there that we're not really talking about because
it's Washington and they they're not the high profile, packed
well team of course with USC being in that conference.
But again mel Tucker had to coach the secondary this year.
That's how bad the secondary was last season for Sparty,
and it's been okay so far this year. They're about
(27:46):
fiftiest in passing defense, but they faced two mac teams
that are outside the top seventy in passing efficiency, so
I don't want to look too much into that. Now
they head west where they haven't won in thirty five
years oh and five actually in the Pacific time zone
for Sparty over the last three decades plus peyton Thorne
to We talked about those home road splits with Boone.
Well you Sam could said about peyton Thorne complete percentage
(28:08):
dropped eleven from home to road yarks pertempos from nine
point four to seven point seven. So say which one
about Hucky defense, probably a little below average unit. I
think peyton Thorne might not be able to take advantage
of that. And then you look at the advantages on
the other side for Washington golfense against the sporty defense,
and I think we are going to see an edge
(28:28):
there for the Huskies, and I love again Taylor the
board talk about coaching upgrade for the Husky squad. Fantastic
stuff from him so far, and I think they've got
some They've got some cooking going on there in Seattle
that I'd like to do. He's on Twitter at Jared

all right, and if it goes south, I'm blaming Jared

it words. Listen to Unbreakable with Jay Glazer on the

complicated other banks make it to redeem credit card rewards,
or we could talk about how with Discover you can
redeem your rewards for cash and any amount of any time.
I mean, talk about amazing learn more discovered dot com
slash redeem rewards terms they do apply. So a big
week two in the NFL, many nervous fans of teams
that could go oh and two. But there's a couple
(30:18):
of big games getting a lot of attention this week. Mike,
I'm telling you, I see huge blowouts. Got four four
games with double digit spreads, and then you have another
two that are seven or higher. It's but I mean
more so than I'm talking about teams that are gonna
put forty on another team or teams are gonna win
(30:40):
by at least twenty, and I I would love to
see the reverse happen because it's always good when they're better.
But the first game I want to get to here,
the Bengals are gonna smash Dallas. They are going to
just absolutely smash them. And it's not even gonna be hey,
Joe Burrow's piss. They're gonna clean up the five turnovers
(31:00):
from last week. Dallas is on its heels right now
and they can make a brave face about coming back
with Cooper Rush, but they know they're in trouble. And
more importantly, they know their run defense stinks and Cincinnati's
run defense is terrific. You already heard Mike McCarthy saying
this week they want to run the football more, but
they don't want to throw the football. Okay, guess what,
You're gonna get pasted. And that's how this is gonna
(31:21):
go on Sunday. There's no way out for Dallas and
Cincinnati's gonna and it's not even gonna be Joe Burrow
throwing for four or five touchdowns. This game is not
about the quarterbacks. This is gonna be about controlling the
line of scrimmage, that Bengals are gonna man handle the
Cowboys and it's gonna be Hey, man, this is like
def Con five for the Cowboys. Now they are pressing
all kinds of panic buttons because they're gonna sit at
(31:43):
home again and they're gonna get smacked. Yeah. The only
way that Dallas can make this a game is if
Mica Parsons in that pass rush can get home with regularity,
because what are we seeing? Joe Burrow gets thrown around
like a rag doll every week. I mean that that
is fact, but that's not a infensive line. But they
(32:04):
fixed it. And what did I tell you before last week? No? No? Uh?
Switch look at and maybe by mid season, these five
guys have figured it out and they orchestrated and we've
talked about it a lot without playing in the preseason
and trying to say, all right, here's your five new guys. Uh,
(32:24):
who's this guy to line it up next to me? Well,
you know you did some work in practice, but not
to this level. I mean, you've got Mike McCarthy already
throwing Kellen Moore under the bus. Look, Jerry's not gonna fire.
You might not in season. It's just not gonna happen.
So you don't need to go and try to cut
the legs out of Kellen Moore just yet. Now, his
play calling was deplorable in Week one before Dack's injury. Uh,
(32:48):
and there's no hope in this game. Like really unless
you get a pick six scoop, you know, a sack
and a scoop, uh and a score kind of situation. Uh,
they're gonna get buried trying to make because the Cowboys
happen is just not going to happen. Another one where
it it's because to me, that's an obvious one. Like
(33:08):
it's as obvious the Bengals are gonna just crush the Cowboys. Yeah,
I mean obviously for our talking points, I really hope
it doesn't happen. Yeah. No, it's better when the Cowboys
are gonna always good enough to to make it a mess,
because then the Bengals are now in too. We talk
about Super Bowl hangovers. We talked about the offensive line.
Joe Burrow is he elite? Is he spending too much
(33:29):
time talking? I don't know. I mean, we would do
those things and every other quarterback he would jump that
jump into that Uh, that boat. Joe Flacco just heard elite. Wait,
someone said elite Elite, No question. The Raiders are gonna
put at least forty on the Cardinals. The Cardinals came
into this season and it's like they didn't learn anything.
It's like they picked up right where they left off
(33:50):
last It's like a horror movie when a sequel picks
up like a minute after the last one ends and
you go, oh, no, things are still really bad for
these teenagers. It's like, oh, yeah, the Cardinals have all
their issues. Everything is fine. Nope, all the same issues
they had the end of last year. They are flat.
The honeymoon period is over. They looked awful. And the Raiders,
their offense is going to just hum. And this is
(34:12):
gonna be another big week. Look, Arizona will snap out
of it a little bit offensively, they'll put points on
the board, but this is gonna be a Raiders team
that's just gonna go to town uh in this game
and the this is this is gonna be like one
of those type games where man, here's here's Derek Carry
throws for four touchdowns, Davante Adams has three. That's the
(34:33):
kind of game here. This is another one living in
blowout city. Can they find any kind of pass rush
against that sieve like Las Vegas offensive line. That's that's
really your only hope, right that. That is where we're
at in terms of wishing, wanting, hoping for a competitive game.
Six drives of six yards or fewer last week against
(34:55):
the Chiefs before finally coming and playing and putting up
some points down on down the stretch when it was
no longer a game Uh possible. J J. Watt makes
an appearance wait and see there. If so, then maybe
you give him a puncher's chance. I just don't see
Derek Carr putting forty on anybody. Just watch, buddy, Just watch.
(35:16):
I'm telling you, just watch. It's gonna happen if he
stays myopic and keeps looking at Davante Adams all day.
