Davante Adams was charged with a misdemeanor in Kansas City, and while the guys don’t think Adams should have responded the way he did, a new angle of Adams knocking over the cameraman might make some people change their minds on the situation. Ti iract dot com the way tire buying should be Well.
It looked like the Dodgers are gonna get back on
top in this game. They had first and third one
out in the bottom of the sixth and Gavin Lux
hits into a four six three double play. The Padres
get out of the inning. They are getting set to
bad here in the top of the seventh with a

(01:07):
four three lead over l A. I mean this is
where I thought Steve oz all gonna come apart and
you know, the big, the big hit, the the well
the I would say that could have come apart for
both times this past inning. Yeah, the the fielding Cronan
worse fielding in difference. I have to say the same
thing with Soto in right field. They ruled a single
and so the Dodgers had a couple of men on

(01:28):
in the bottom of the six and could not score
because as you mentioned, strike out double play, and they
get out of it with a guy who's been a
silently great reliever for the Padres this year, and Robert Suarez,
you Darvish had thrown the first flight five plus innings,
you know, and and we talk about the the importance
of game two, and usually in most series, game two
is the most important one because look, somebody's going up

(01:51):
to zip and it's hard to come back from that,
or it's one one and everything changed the best of
five here this week, But with this it's it's so
much more because, yes, with the Dodge years going up
to Zip, which is what's expected, but the Padres getting
a game in l A and going back home. They
are an emotional team, right We watched them last year.
They they're a young team. They played with a very

(02:13):
emotional edge to them. And most teams teams like the
Dodgers team, you know, teams that win a lot. The Braves,
they know going out every day what baseball is predicated on.
But the Padres are one of those rare teams that
plays very emotional and has have wild swings of momentum
and a lack of momentum, tying this series at one
game apiece, going home knowing that the Dodgers starting pitching

(02:37):
isn't what it looked like in July. This is like
this game. This game is almost more of a must
win for the Dodgers than it is for the Pods Padres,
who go down to Zip and the game one in
a five game series is the most important, Jason, because
of the time you win game one. So wait, so
you're saying seventy of the time every time, every time? Okay,

(03:00):
right the way. Before the game tonight, manager Dave Roberts
of l A said his Game three and four pictures
against the Padres this week would be Tyler Anderson and
Tony Gonsolin, but he would not say in what order.
For what it's Worth. Anderson has been a postseason picture
before four years ago with Colorado. This season, he's been
great against the Padres four starts against him, only five

(03:20):
earned runs total allowed in the four starts. So my
guest is Anderson Friday night in what should be a
just superb environment. I wish I was there Friday night,
San Diego hosting a playoff game for the first time
in over fifteen years. So again, top of the seven
is still a long way to go in this It's
a one run lead for the Padres, two outs of

(03:41):
the Padres bat. We are getting set for the seventh
inning stretch. Meanwhile, the biggest NFL story coming off of
Monday Night football still has a lot of legs of
something that just has me shaken my head more than
just a little bit. Raider's wide receiver Davante Adams has
been charged with misdemeanor assault for shoving the credential media

(04:01):
worker after Monday's loss in Kansas City to the Chiefs.
Video that you've seen a thousand times by now, Davante
Adams walking off the field and the photographer tries to
run in front of him to get in position to
get a camera shot. Ryan Zebley is the cameraman's name. Uh.
The guy was shoved suffered whiplash, a headache, and a
possible minor concussion from the incident. So as a result

(04:25):
of this, he has been charged with misdemeanor assault charges
filed Wednesday morning in Municipal Court of Kansas City. Adams
will do be doing court in November. And let me
just let me just say what everybody's reaction was when
they saw this assault, really assault, I yeah, but assault.

(04:51):
Adams clearly was in the wrong because you watch him
come off the field and he pushes a camera and
you can't do that, right, You can't. You can't push
another fessional who's trying to do a job. I don't
care how upset you are. Be a professional coming off
the field. The game is over and you need to
be a pro when you come off. And if a
guy jumps in front of you, that doesn't mean oh

(05:11):
I pushed him because the guy jumped in front of you, right,
you need to be doing it better than that. But assault, assault, Yeah,
the guy kind of ran in front of Davante Adams
and got pushed as a result. It's like if a
guy runs into traffic and gets hit by a car.
Can he really sue that guy? Can you sue the

(05:31):
guy in the car? But he ran in the street, Well,
if I didn't see him, did try to turn or
enjoyed mowing him down, Well, if there's if there's no
way to see it, because that's gonna be the bigger
part of this conversation. But if that happens, it's hard
to say, yeah, I ran into the streets, So now
I'm gonna see the guy that hit me with it,
that hit me with the car. I really I was

(05:51):
are we going a little too far with us? Or
you're a little too far? And I'm seeing the you know,
the charges here and who knows it's gonna wind up
being some kind of settlement whatever it is, because if
Aunte Adams has a lot of money. But when I
saw assault, the first half one was really assault. That's
where we're at. This is assault, This is this is
what happens to a raider player in Kansas City. Really assault?
For this that's a little much, I agree, it sounds

(06:12):
like a lot. But what he was specifically cited for
Adams was an intentional overt act, which it clearly was
both intentional and over it it was out of the ordinary,
you agree, And the other part of the sentence that
inflicted bodily injury, I can't speak to that. If there
was the first half of the sentence is clearly true.
Don't know about the second half. If all of that

(06:34):
sentence is true, then by law there's opportunity for the citation,
and they should cite him. And therefore, because it's a misdemeter. Uh,
there's a court date next month in Kansas City. Jail,
give him jail. That's never gonna happen. But Rost wants
ever everybody in the a f C West and not
have to play when they plays jail this year. Jail.

(07:02):
But this looked like the guy the cameraman, if you
want to call him, that was carrying equipment. Maybe too
set up for a shot of players coming in the tunnel,
I don't know. But it was a credential Monday night
football worker. So he was you could make the ark.
Not directly in front of Adams is where he should be,
but he was in the area where he is credential
to be about to do the job he was credential

(07:22):
to do. And if Adams had done anything else, even
just bumped him I think this wouldn't even be a
story not wait a bit a frost gotta you really
want Russell Wilson to not be playing for the Broncos
Mahomes jail Wait yeah but wait what Monday night it's
den at the Chargers. I get that you wouldn't want
Mahomes playing, but you really don't want Russell Wilson playing.

(07:44):
You've seen him play, right, is he really going to
be playing after this game? Hack getting fired, leaving him
on the tarmac? What else is going to happen in
this game? I think you want Russell Wilson to be
actually playing in the game the way things starts, sir
going yeah, you're absolutely right. You don't want to run
the risk of another guy coming in and playing. We

(08:05):
don't want to run the risk of who's the backup?
Yeah he's off in Seattle, So you got me. This
is Denver. I just is Teddy Bridgewater. This isn't the
piece of America's backup quarterback, Teddy Bridge. That's why this
isn't the opponent where you would think, oh yeah this
this might have eleven to ten written on the final score. No, no,

(08:27):
not like this's opponent. As much as We've seen this,
you know, with the Broncos and what ridiculously little offense
they have. Oh, Brett Rippon has been seen warming up.
That's right. It wasn't okay. But there was a stat
by the way that I saw a start of the
season that Russell Wilson this year had a chance to
defeat all thirty two NFL teams for his career, because

(08:49):
of course he'd never beat in Seattle, but he lost
the opener at Seattle, He's never beaten the Chargers. He's
gonna play theoretically twice against the Chargers the season finales
in Denver. The only quarterbacks that have ever done that
beating all thirty two in their career, you could probably
guess Peyton Manning, also Drew Brees, Tom Brady, and Brett Farve.
Russell Wilson missed a chance to join that list because

(09:13):
in part of how horrendous this season has gone, that
first pet first game, you'll recall, they scored a grand
total of sixteen points and even in a win, they
had eleven to ten in the game against the Nineers.
L Well, well, look, I think also, you know, to
jump off of your your fact there, Steve, I think
the Jets have had like seven or eight quarterbacks who

(09:34):
have lost to all thirty two teams in the NFL,
lost to all of them, lost all with within within
a two season span. So then they go to another
team and lose to the Jets. That doesn't seem likely.
Uh No, they lose while they're playing for the Jets.
Oh and it counts as an l yes, so bad,
it just counts. That's why. That's why I'm hoping this

(09:55):
is a turnaround, because I want those days to be over. No.
But the other part of this story that's interesting really
assault it's a bit much, But this is about the
camera angle. If you see the one that everybody has
seen has been Adams walking off and here comes the
guy running in front of him and Davantae Adams pushes him.
If you see the camera angle from behind Davontae Adams

(10:18):
walking off the field, you see him being shielded from
this guy by a security guard and he doesn't see
the cameraman run in front of him. Doesn't mean you
have to push the guy. Doesn't mean that you you
have to push him out of the way. But you
see it a little bit differently that this was a
reaction from Davontadams. It was more of a bad reaction

(10:41):
than it was premeditated. Here comes this guy running and
I'm gonna push him. Doesn't see him running across, and
he jumps in front of him, and Davontae Adams, in
a reaction, gets up and you know, he push his
arms out and push him to the ground. But you
can see that we had that from behind that it
looks like it was he didn't You could tell he
didn't see the guy. If we had just this angle

(11:03):
and we didn't have the other one, it wouldn't be
that big a deal. We would say, Oh, the guy
just jumped out in front him. Davanta had his friend,
who knows how hard he pushed him. But this angle
that we have seen so much looks so bad and
it became such a big story right away. There was
no controlling it, and and it was the horse out
of the bar and it was just galloping away and
it got bigger and bigger and bigger. Now you know,

(11:25):
he's gonna face discipline from the NFL, and now here
he is, he has to deal with it legally because
charges were filed against him. If we didn't have that
camera angle, it wouldn't be a case. And if we
just had the one from the back, it wouldn't be
the case either. But because this camera got him walking
off the field, this is where we're at. This is
where players always have to remember the camera is on you.

(11:46):
Act like the camera is on you at all times,
and then you won't do things like this and put
yourself in a position to be judged, to be suspended,
to have to go to court in a month. You
always act like the camera is on you, especially when
you're a superstar and you're someone making twenty some odd
million dollars a year, you know that at various times

(12:07):
during the game, the camera is on you. Now, for me,
I would say, hey, for most people, just don't pick
your nose, right, because you ever know when the camera's
gonna be on you, right, don't pick your nose. But
but guys like Davant Adams quarterbacks, they have to know
when the camera is on you, understand that what what
you are doing is something that everybody's gonna wind up
scene and and that that's a big part of this

(12:28):
story too, is the angle we saw versus what we
could have seen, and with the supporting angle behind making
a little bit of a different story. And be be
clear on this. You and I have both seen both
camera angles. This is not a photographer who's setting right
up to take a picture of him right then. People
were giving that impression the first day or two. He's
carrying equipment and walking to the other side. And because

(12:52):
Adams is essentially going to the tunnel alone, it's not
a group of ten raiders altogether a stampede into the
tunnel exiting after the loss this guy. It reminded me
of sometimes you've seen an offense where a guy in
motion happens to get hit by the snap, the shotgun
snap that's on its way back. This guy is crossing

(13:13):
and he gets hit by the shotgun snap. He would
have been bumped into by Adams. Where Adams is wrong.
He literally shoved him to the ground with purpose. You
can't be doing that. Be sure to catch live editions
of The Jason Smith Show with Mike harmon weekdays at
ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio
and the I Heart Radio Whap Fox Sports Radio. The

(13:34):
Jason Smith Show with Mike Carmon Steve to sagerin for
Harm and tonight we could talk about how complicated. Other
banks make it to radeem credit card rewards, or we
could talk about how with Discover you can redeem you
rewards for cashing any amount at any time. I mean
talk about amazing learn more discovered dot com slash redeem
rewards terms. They do apply well. Dodgers and the Padres

(13:57):
once again, the Dodgers threatened once again. The Padres got
out of it second and third with one out and
the Padres bullpen is able to get out of the inning.
The second inning, Suarez is able to get out of
the tying run at third and so now we go
to the eighth. San Diego leaves the Dodgers four to three.

(14:17):
Suarez has been a great reliever for the Padres this year,
under fifty innings, over sixties straight. How many people tonight
though it's Ruts. That's a different guy, sure, yeah, yeah,
it's pretty sure different guy. In the bottom of the seventh,
Dodgers got a one out single and double and left
the bases loaded on the line out by Will Smith.
So remember the three early solo home runs given up

(14:40):
by you, Darvish, one in each of the first three innings.
That's it for the Dodger offense. They are oh for
six with runners in scoring position tonight. Now, that is
kind of surprising, but not nearly as surprising as the
story we're gonna bring you right now from Dodgers State.
M Uh John Boy Media has put this video out

(15:04):
and it's absolutely insane. You know, this is gonna this
is gonna be the big viral thing coming off of
this game tonight to Dodger fans. Two and two guys
in the men's room start fighting and they are throwing
punches at each other. And this is a fight, like
right in front of all the urinals where everybody else
is going to the bathroom, and these guys are just

(15:24):
hauling off and they're fighting. This video is about thirty
about twenty five seconds long. Two very long haired guys.
They probably can't see each other as they're swinging. Yes,
one guy long hair tied back in a ponytail, another
guy with long hair uh down over his shoulders. These
guys are just hauling off on each other. Everybody else

(15:45):
is in the bathroom just kind of going, uh, don't
getting near. I'm going to the bathroom, man. I don't
want to. I don't want to kind of want to
slip and fall these guys fight and they throw punches
for like thirty seconds, and then at the end they
just stop and they hug each other and they shakes,
all right, good fight, ring the bell. I mean, it's

(16:05):
like they both decided, okay, look we're done, we're done. Okay,
good fight, good fighting. The other guy didn't have a
Yankee jersey on or anything like that. It's just two
guys from the block. I guess, yeah, no. One guy
in Mookie Betts jersey and the other guy and he's
in a black Dodgers jersey, but it doesn't have a
number on it. And they're just like holding off on
each other, like throwing punches. Everybody else just kind of

(16:26):
standing around going okay, two guys in the fight and
then they just stop. Then they just stop it all right. Hey,
that was cool, man. I'm the best part is all
the guys at the urinal just turning around while they're
still going. You would expect something like this to happen
tonight at Atlanta because they had a three hour rain delay.
I assume there may have been some drinking going on

(16:46):
during those three hours where they didn't start the game
at four thirty they started it at seven thirty Eastern
time tonight. So I did see all food and beverages
nonalcoholic while they waited. The three hours were fifty percent off.
That's right in Atlanta tonight before first Hitch. You're right,
oh man, what are they What are they gonna do
with Dodger Stadium? How to stop like this from happening

(17:07):
in the Okay, it's just like, is there something I
don't know? Like is there a fight club in the
bathroom Dodgers Stadium? I don't know. San Diego has already
stopped this because, as you recall, they don't allow any
ticket sales to anyone above San Diego County for this weekend.
And when did Dodger Stadium upgrade the urinals? He used
to be just one big silver metal po Yeah. Yeah.
It was like a big troll like you were going

(17:28):
it like like you're on a farm. You just gonna
the troll goes all the way from one end to
the next. But these guys, they just like they stop
and they immediately have the same thought of Okay, this
fight is over now, alright, it's over. We're throwing punches
and it's over. You suspicious, I don't know, man, I
don't know. The one guy is kind of smiling near

(17:50):
the end, like like before they stop and then they
like they finish. One guy doesn't look like he's all mad.
I mean, I don't know. I don't know what this says.
I don't know, But what was it a set up for? Hey,
let's get in a fight. It will go viral, Yeah,
just for that. Really, they're not small guys. They can
take punches. Hair on three three hair. I mean, it's

(18:14):
it's not a great fight by any means. I mean,
this is this is not this is like a fight
where where one of those fights where guys use their
forearms because like, you know, I'm not gonna I'm just
gonna just kind of go at you with my four
arms and it's gonna be that kind of fun. So
I don't know, it's kind of weird. The guy smiling
makes me think that either he's enjoying the fight or
something is up. What would you know about a fight, Jason?

(18:35):
It'll go viral if you play the theme from hair
in the background to that. I wasn't I was in
a fight in third grade. That was my last thing.
We weren't all of us by the way, Home Run
Jake cronin Worth against the Dodger bullpen, five three, top
of the eighth home runoff Blake trying and who's barely
pitched two damn soon, Steve. Oh boy, now there's gonna
beat as to be more fighting in the in the

(18:55):
bathrooms at Dodger Stadium. Now you need guys out there.
Remember Blake trying and I only had two games since
mid April, two games in the major leagues in relief. Ouch,
Maybe one of these guys in the fight can come
into pitch. These guys, look, they're fired up. They may
have some man it. Maybe you'll throw like no, wait
a minute, you said the punches or anything, but they
were the out they're fired up. Hey, maybe they're not fighters,

(19:17):
but they could pitch. You know, you don't condone violence,
Len No, but I'm saying and I'm not saying, no,
he was gonna come in and pitch pitch, not come
in the start of fight. It has been it's one
solo homer after another in this game. Boy, right, that's
five now, yeah, that's Fight's a lot. It's a lot. Again, Hey,

(19:39):
we have plenty of time to get to Dodger pitching,
because you know, Dodger pitching. It's fun to talk about.
But there's also fighting in the bathroom Mitch of Ezra,
which is always interesting too. Twitter At how about a
fresco that Jason Smith show is steve to say are
in from Mike Carpon. So again, there's gonna be your
video that's gonna be everywhere tomorrow. This fight in the
Dodgers Shadi and bathroom. Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
When I see a guy smiling during find I'm always

(20:00):
a little a little leary about what it is. But
then again that's just me. Meanwhile, in the NFL today,
we know that the Dolphins are gonna be without two
a Tugo Vola and Teddy Bridgewater this week against Minnesota.
So Skyler Thompson last seen in the Pitch Perfect series.
He played Jesse. He was Anna Kendrick's boyfriend, and that's

(20:22):
exactly who it is. Yes, she treated him really badly,
but yet he still loved her. I know, you know
better than any sports talk host the Pitch Perfect series.
Believe me, I am well aware of that. I don't
believe this quarterback started those movies. You know, it was
it was him, It was it was he saying, bright lights,
big city, the trebles, they came in second. It just

(20:42):
because he was from Manhattan, Kansas, that's where he played.
That's a different Manhattan. Also, I think we're wrong on
two cats here. So Skyler Thompson's going to play. Uh.
Here's head coach Mike McDaniel talking about the quarterback situation
earlier today when talking about this week and playing, I
don't see him being active and I'm not gonna. I

(21:03):
do not plan to have him play. This whole um
process is a little tricky, and today he's just getting
back to playing football for the first time in two weeks.
He was talking about Marina. He was saying, you know,
everybody keeps saying laces out. I don't know what that is,
but laces out, laces out. So two is not going
to play this week, and neither is Teddy Bridgewater. Two

(21:25):
is in concussion protocol. He's got a pass stages. Teddy
Bridgewater not a concussion protocol, but he also has to
pass stages because of the new concussion rules that went
into place last week after Tah was mishandled by the
Dolphins following him getting knocked down really hard and finding
it difficult to get up against the Bills, but it
was his back apparently, So yeah, everything nothing to see here.

(21:49):
People pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
This is what I want to say to the Dolphins
right now. This has been a big story the last
two weeks, and and it brought concussion protocol to the
forefront and protection of quarterbacks. And don't think that this
roughing the pass or stuff that came up the last
couple of days on Monday Night Football and Tom Brady
on Sunday. Don't think this is independent of protecting the

(22:11):
quarterbacks and concussions, because it is. This is about protecting
the quarterbacks. The NFL said today they're going to continue
to do whatever they can to make sure the quarterbacks
health is protected, the backing off anything. So all of
this roughing the past or stuff we are the last
couple of days, the NFL says, we are still protecting
the quarterback good and that's good for us as viewers.
We've seen games with backups they're not good. I want

(22:34):
to say this to the Dolphins. So was it really
worth it? Was all of it worth it to put
a guy you knew, you knew had some kind of
head injury back in against the Buffalo Bills. A guy
who hit his head on the ground, got up and
then fell down right away. Was it really worth it

(22:54):
to put him back in that game to try to win,
because look where you're at right now, you're about to
give away a three and oh start because you couldn't
do the right thing right because you bring to a
back in and he plays against the Bills, and the
question is how does he play? How does he play?
We don't understand. So then you have to say, well,
it was a back injury, not a head injury. Because
it was a head injury, he might not be able

(23:16):
to play Thursday night against the Bengals, So it's a
back injury. It's a back injury. Then he gets thrown
to the ground and it's really scary, and he's posturing
and he's unconscious and he asked me taken to the hospital,
and as a result, you lose him again and you
get a new concussion policy in place because you didn't
do the right thing with two Tongo Valoa. And who
is the team that felt the new concussion policy first?

(23:39):
You did, because on the first play of the game,
when Sauce Gardner sacks Teddy Bridgewater. The spotter said, I
saw something weird with Teddy Bridgewater. He's got to come
out of the game. So Teddy Bridgewater can't play. Skylett
Thompson comes in the Jets boat race the Dolphins, and
now the Jets are feeling great at three and two,
and the Dolphins are three in two, getting set to
go into a game where they play at top seven

(24:00):
NFL team in the Vikings. They're about to give away
a three and oh start all because no, let's put
two a back into a game when we know he
probably shouldn't come back in. So I ask you, if
you're Miami wasn't worth it was all of that worth
it to get to where you are right now. And
the Dolphins said today that Teddy Bridgewater, even if he

(24:21):
clears protocols by Sunday, is not going to be starting.
That's how the Skylar Thompson name came up. Today. For sure,
he is starting for Miami and they're hosting a four
and one Minnesota team this weekend. Bridgewater limited in practice today.
Two is out this weekend for sure with the concussion
by the way, in a walking boot after last Sunday's
game was wide receiver Tyreek Hill. He did practice fully today.

(24:43):
But the quarterbacks the key position, and my goodness, they're
down to a guy we've not heard of. It's a
third stringer. We didn't we weren't sure that the second
stringer was gonna be winning games for them, let's be honest.
So yeah, they've dug themselves a hole. I looked it up.
It was Skyler Thompson and pitched perfect that that's exactly
what was playing Jesse, And that's the actor's name. I
looked it up. No, it's Skylar Aston. I just want

(25:04):
you to go with a bit, a little bit more.
I mean, there's not a lot of not I I
gotta repeat you know that series far more than I.
I was about to be deferential. Yeah no, no, No,
Skylar Aston was Jesse. Skylar Thompson is the quarterback. There's
not gonna be a pitch Perfect four that we're missing
because what's her name? That directed she's busy doing that
game show now, right. Yeah, No, there will be, you know,

(25:26):
it will be. There will be one of those Disney
pitch Perfect fours where it's the Disney kids will wind
up doing pitch perfect for it will be an entirely
new group of kids, or it will be just re
re streaming only. Will never see. It's like Dancing with
the Stars is streaming only it's not a real channel.
It was barely a real show before. Oh is it
really only streaming now days this season? Yes, it's only Yeah,

(25:50):
the the Disney owned channel in l A. Is going
overboard to try and put as many Dancing with the
Stars stories on the local news. Again. I use the
word news in quotes because it's you know, it's eye
witless news, if we can call it that. Oh wow,
I did not know it was streaming only on Dancing
with the Stars. Yeah, it's not only no stars, it's

(26:11):
no channel now, it's it's pretty soon they'll have no nothing,
but they'll still call it a show. They'll somebody will
still be making money somewhere. It'll just be called dancing. Yeah,
it'll just be dancing, no actual practice, no stars, nothing,
It'll be dancing with dancing with. Some Jags would say
they're just dancing with the Jets. Their their jets there there,

(26:32):
there there, you know they're jags, just a guy in football,
their jets, just a dancing dancing he's just a dancer.
They they could maybe have that in Jacksonville. That would
seem appropriate. Well, why do the Mets have to be
in on this, Frostberg. I've left your Dodgs. I've literally
had the guide open. I've been going through it a
thousand times. I cannot find the Mets game for the
life of me. Padres two on two out top of

(26:55):
the eighth chance to break it open against the Dodger, bullpen,
Blake trying and still in five three, San Diego. Remember this, Frostburg,
when if the Padres win tonight, what it's going to
be like for the last two hours of the show.
Just remember, I'm just remember. And then when your car
is spray painted with Padres colors, just remember we got

(27:17):
just remember. Just remember. It'll be just like Fast Times
of Richmond. He said, I would like to admit as
evidence a when an they come it, you'll be in jail. Whoa, whoa,
whoa whoa. It was intentional. You can be cited. You
have a court date next month. It was intentional and

(27:38):
an overt act. Hey inflicted injury. Just because I say
something and you have it on tape and it happens
doesn't mean I did it come that we could put
two and two together. I would just say it wasn't me.
That's what I would do. What are you shaggy dud? Dude, dude,
let me tell you quickly. You want a great story
real fast, Well we gotta go trend and can you

(27:59):
tease it? Oh no, let me tell it right here
because it makes sense right now. So when I was
working in the in the supermarket in high school, there
was a guy was working with at night and he
was actually in charge of our shift, like in the
produce department. And it's like this guy being in charge
to come on, and there's cameras that go all the
way through the aisles because they want to catch people
who are shop living, but they also want to catch
people if you're fooling around and not doing any work.

(28:21):
So we're in the aisle and he started picking up
cum quats like you know, they're really tiny, and seeing
how far he could throw them into the other aisles.
And I'm like, what are you doing, man? Is I
bet you can get this kum quatt like Aisle sixty.
Produce was like Aisle eleven. I bet you get it too,
like Aisle sixteen or seventeen. I'm like, no way, no way.
So like I go and look and I see I'll

(28:42):
come on fourteen fourteen. No way, no way. So I
go back and he's thrown and then I see the
camera comes and it stays in the aisle, and I'm going, oh, man, oh,
I go do the cameras. He just I don't worry
about the camera, and he throws another cum quat and
I'm like, oh my god, dude, and then they call
him to security. I'm going, oh, he's he's get he's
completely getting fired. So he goes to security and he

(29:03):
and he's there for like fifteen minutes. And then he
comes back and I go, did you get fired? Hees no, no, no,
I go did you get sent home? He goes no.
I go, what are you talking? How what happened? Goes, well,
they showed me and I had the video of me
throwing the cum quats. It was really funny. I said, yeah,
it was really funny. But what happened? He goes, but
it was real blurry. So I just said, oh, that's
not me, it's not you. We're the only ones working

(29:24):
in the aisle right now. They probably said it was you.
How is it how, he goes, I just said it
wasn't me, and they what did they say, he goes,
They just told me to get the hell out of
the office because they couldn't prove it was him. Because
he says it wasn't him and the video was too great.
He'll never get away with that again. He just said,
no should have used that. Oh man, I'll tell you

(29:46):
that works. That doesn't mean it works. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific. Goose Goose,
No Goose, Fox Radio Chase the Smitch Show. Go ahead,
tell him what just happened at Dodger Stadium before the

(30:08):
pitching change, Either a duck or a goose landed in
short right field on the green turf at Dodger Stadium.
Apparently we can't tell the difference. It's based on how
many bones they have in their necks. I don't know.
But it's appropriate because right before the Padres go to
their closer, they've just made a pitching change. Who was

(30:31):
the Padres closer the only time they've won the pennant
in the National League. Oh Now, Hall of Famer from
back in nine unbelievable. Goose lands in short right field.
They continue playing with two outs and nobody on and
it's the rally Goose because Gavin Lutz gets a single

(30:53):
and it makes the Padres go to their closure. Here
in the eighth inning, not the ninth. You wanted it,
you asked for it. In the same night, Kenley Jansen
will pitch for Atlanta and Josh Hayter will pitch for
the Padres, the two closers tonight in the NL in
now Here's I have two questions. I have a question
in observation. One goose. Is it a goose? I mean

(31:15):
it looks like a goose. It might be a duck. Right, Yeah,
it's a goose. Right I'm I'm meaning There's people who
are a bird experts are on Twitter saying it is
a great white fronted goose. Goose, that's what it's called.
It's a great white fronted goose. All the other goose

(31:36):
it eats the other geesement, I think it looks like
a duck. Uh No, it's definitely not a duck. Sure
look like people with blue check marks. That said doesn't
mean anything, But what does that mean? What do they
know about duck because the check mark it says there,
but they know if it's a goose or duck. I
don't know. I don't know. I'm going by people with
check marks that say things. What do you want? People

(31:58):
without check marks no things too okay. But with if
you're a blue checkmark, you're putting your reputation on the line.
So I think these people are really check mark that
we were good. Then we were not good, but we
were good. There was a time when we were good. Jason,
you know, how we could tell if it's a goose
or not? How can we we have to see if
Tom Cruise pulled the ejection any soon? What does Wait?

(32:23):
Does this goose have the goose helmet on that says
goose on it like it does gunn does he have it?
You know? He stayed on the turf so long I
thought he was injured. Maybe he did get ejected out
of that goose was going mock on yeah, and then
he then he flee flew all over the place and uh,
there is really good is so video of this goose? Though?

(32:44):
But is there a second angle? Like, no, there's not not.
The goose does not push a cameraman out of the way.
Uh he just flies around and land flies and lands
in the middle of right center field and he lands
behind the plate and they try to help him and
get him out. Uh No, this was this was this
was a definitive goose egg for the Dodgers tonight. Do

(33:08):
you like that? So if the Dodgers win this game,
you know it's going to be the rally goose. If
the Dodgers lose this game, it's the sign. Then it's
your fault. Then it's a sign the Padres are going
to win this series. Like I said, all your fault
ball four. Hayter walks the first man he sees two
on two out bottom of the eighth, and who's coming up?

(33:29):
Cody Bellinger. Captain Cody Cody Bellinger, who already made a
sensational catch in deep center field or else things could
have gone sideways earlier. As it is, it's only a
five three Padre Lean. Although I said, I remember about Hayter,
we said earlier, not on tonight show, but he actually
corrected things the final month of the season. He threw

(33:52):
scoreless ball for literally the past month in a Padre
un and they just bench Bellinger so he won't be
coming up. Well, it's a picking coach visit. No, he's
not gonna hit. No, they brought in, uh, what's his name,
the catcher Barnes. Yeah, Austin Barnes is gonna hit righty
against lefty. Yeah. Hey, sorry, Cody, but you know, wow,

(34:13):
you're hitting two ted and you've stunk for three years.
Somebody else is gonna you'll be great on the Mets. No, no, no,
Cody Belling should be great playing center field for the
Yankees next year. When Aaron Judges playing for the Dodgers,
Oh that short portrait, Judge is more likely to the Giants,
his team growing up. He's not. We did you know that?
That that that would be okay for a little while.

(34:34):
The count then the Dodgers are gonna say, oh, we
have a lot more money for you, and we're Los Angeles.
Oh well then let's they might not because we're getting
oh good, so for so for you know, fifteen starts
next year, you'll be really good. That's fifteen losses more
for you guys. And the Mets can get Tyler Anderson

(34:55):
because I think he's just done a one year deal,
so it'll be kind of a swap. Oh boy, all right.
So we have a lot of drama right now. We're
sweating hater, which is what we should get. We sweated
Jansen earlier, now we're sweating hater. There is a goose involved.
There are lots of things happening right now. We'll continue
on with more on this coming up next and more
on big stories out of the NFL from the ti
