the way tire buying should be well. The night in
Major League Baseball is all done thanks to Zach Wheeler
and one hit through seven innings. The Mets take a
one game to noun lead in the end. Else has
the Padres fall to the Phillies too to nothing? So
(01:04):
Zach Wheeler and nowhere synder guard or one more game
closer to the World Series. Oh, it's so exciting joining
us now. Not like MLB Network, Fox Sports Radio Insider extraordinary.
You can follow him on Twitter at John Morrossi. It
is John Paul Morossi JP. What's happening, buddy? Is JP?
Already there? He is? There? You are? How are you?
(01:28):
I believe, gentlemen, that the the Mets season to which
you alluded actually has already expired. I heard a lot
of Wheeler and synder Guard. Was that a Freudian slip?
Or was that an intentional? Was that an intentional way
of inserting the Mets into a place where they do
not belong. They do not belong in the Nationally Championship Series.
(01:50):
You've caught on JP. It's watching, it's watching the Mets
make all these decisions. Say, yes, we're gonna keep the
Grom and we're gonna go get Scherzer, and we're gonna
keep correct and the guys we're gonna let go. We're
gonna let Wheeler go, We're gonna let Synderguard go. And
look where they're These are the guys in the NLCS
that are three games away from the World Series because
of course Mets. So there we go. That's why I'm
(02:10):
where we're at. Okay, very good, well, and we will
we have plenty of time to dissect all that is
wrong with the Mets. But you do raise some very
good points. It is as though you have you have
written the very the very first part of the column
in the New York Post about the state of the
New York Mets. But you're right that they've they've made
(02:31):
some mistakes and and the question that I think they
have the answer is, is the answer to failed spending
approaches in the past more spending? Should they just spend
more and hope that the next spending is better. I'm
I'm not convinced that's the case, but we love the chaos.
I do like that we could do all these stat
(02:52):
permutations right what has been done historically, and Zach Wheeler
did something that hasn't been done since when when you
add the seven innings and under honored pitches and all
these other different pieces since Don Larson. So that made
Jason feel even bad. Wow, that that is a that
is a good amount of solace you, Jason, at the
very least, at the very least, it's not as though
(03:16):
for you as a Mets fan that two of the
final four teams aren't your nearest geographic rival and your
fiercest division rival. Right, So the Phillies, oh wait, oh
they are They're there. The Yankees and the Phillies both
still playing. I mean, that's really it is basically as
if you, as if Montgomery Burns had to say, excellent, here,
(03:37):
I'm gonna make like the maximum amount amount of pain
for Mets fans would be Yankees in the final four,
Phillies in the final four, and Wheeler and Synder guard
big reasons why I mean it is, it is remarkable
and and yet it is the reality in which we exist. Well, thanks, JP,
It really took me right up there. I mean, it
was the basis. I mean, I guess unlike unlike you,
(04:03):
I do not necessarily view all things through the through
the lens of Mets pathos, and so it sometimes requires
this sub element of prodding for me to realize just
how totally upside down and back where things have gone.
So anyway, there you go. Well look the Dodgers, by
the way, the Dodgers are also done. You know that.
(04:25):
Well that's the that's the one thing. My team never
got to show up, JP, So I was long gone. Yeah,
I mean yeah, your manager was was falling asleep in
the dugout during the games this year. I mean, it was,
you know, but that's how I feel JP now is
that I don't feel as lonely because the Mets aren't
the only big hundred win team that underachieved in the playoffs.
(04:45):
I watched the Braves go out, I watched the Dodgers
go out, and feel like, Okay, we just had the
attention for the first weekend because we were the we
were the first one to lose. Now everybody else is
on is underachieving, including the Dodgers. Well, and here's the thing.
So in this last round, I believe, so we've had
two teams advance and and two teams loose in terms
(05:07):
of those teams that had buys. So if you look
at the National League side, obviously two up, two upsets
in the division series, with the Dodgers and the Braves
both losing, I think that the new playoff format is
is fine. It's not maybe ideal from a standpoint of
UM putting the most deserving teams in the world series
(05:27):
based on the regular season. UM, if that was the case,
we would go back to the old school best of
seven n lcs and it would have been Dodgers, Braves
and Yankees at nash Rows and we'd already play in
the World Series right now. That's but that's not the
way that the rules are, and nor is that how
they're going to be anytime soon. I think that for
for teams and the Dodgers have to and Justin and
(05:51):
I had a conversation about this off air for a moment.
The reality is it is winning in the postseason is
different than winning in the regular season. And the longer
that the postseason gets, the more that it has to
be treated as a separate season. And honestly, you look
at the way to the Stanley Cup playoffs work in hockey,
(06:13):
where you'll have a team that's the sixteenth seed that
will sometimes win the Stanley Cup, the way the same
Loose Blues did a couple of years ago that a
couple of years ago, no one would have ever dreamed
that was possible in baseball. Now, I think it's plausible
because you're now talking about a very different way of playing. Now.
(06:34):
Certainly we have the rule changes next year that might
sort of scramble this this paradigm a little bit more.
But I I do think that this is a clarion
call for teams like the Dodgers and maybe even the
Mets to just to go about things a little different
way and be more focused on building a team that
works in October, because clearly for the Mets to the
recipe simply did not work well. To put put it
(06:56):
to the Dodgers, right the conversation you have with Justin
and certainly people listen to it here locally in l
a JP when when you get down to it, everybody
wants to immediately get to the bullpen management and Dave
Robertson and historically fair and you could say even in
this series, yes, there are a couple examples where the committee,
the decision making and analytics blew up. But if you
(07:19):
don't hit, it doesn't matter. It's like tonight you Darvish
was brilliant, but if you don't hit, it doesn't matter.
Correct and and listen and to that point, Mike, there
is now there are now more avenues to shut down
run scoring, whether it's the shift, whether it's really dynamic
(07:40):
bullpen like the Padres had against the Dodgers, uh sortain
of the Phillies in the way they fish tonight. There
there are more ways right now in the present game
to shut you down than to generate runs and the
changes that we're going to see next year. I think
we'll open things back up a little bit for the offense,
which will help, and maybe we'll help perhaps stabilize the
(08:05):
overall balance of power in the sport to to the
teams that are truly the best might win a larger
percentage of the games. But it was really it was
really interesting. I'll share this with you. I had a
conversation earlier in the year with a smaller market manager
and he did not like the increase in these these
new rules for next year with the shift, with the
shift going out, etcetera. Because basically his contention was for
(08:28):
his small market team to have success, they need every
advantage that there is they need. They need to be
able to to use the football analogy, have a number
of trick plays in the in the playbooks to be
able to to sort of be fuddle and bewildered than
the more favorite opponent. And so maybe we are moving
(08:49):
If if he's right, then maybe that's a thesis that
in the next two to three years that we're about
to see much more of the Yankees and Astros and Dodgers,
um in Braves in in the Championship Series. If that's
if that's the thesis, that's what we're going to see it.
It's an interesting idea, and I think we're still living
through this. The new playoff format and then the rule
(09:10):
changes in the game are two very big shocks to
the system that I think that we're still sort of
sorting out what exactly is having the greatest impact on
the other outcome at the end of the day. John
Paul Morosi MLB Network, Fox Sports Radio Insider Extraordinary with
us from Houston as he gets set for the a LCS.
(09:31):
Now coming into this game, you know you're you're You're
there before the Yankees get there. They'll be there in
a couple of uh. You mentioned the Yankees, and of
the four teams that are playing right now, the Padres
are playing as well as they have all season. Right
Darvish had a great game tonight, they lost to nothing.
The Phillies are playing as well as they have all season.
The Astros have played just like they have during the
(09:52):
regular season. But here's why I like the Yankees, and
I said before the season, the Yankees are my World
Series team. The Yankee aren't playing well at all. I mean,
they just haven't been playing well, and here they are
in the A l c S. I know they have
another gear that I don't think the Astros have, and
yet you're gonna see it here. And that's why I
(10:13):
really like the Yankees coming out of the A LCS.
I would still pick Houston for a couple of reasons.
I appreciate what you're saying, Um, I think that some
of their issues are not terribly fixable over the course
of the postseason unless and I'm gonna have a big
unless Judge in Stanton hit the ball over the fence
(10:36):
a bunch, and that's exactly what happened today. When they
do that, they're fine. When they don't, because there's just
not you don't have Lam Mayhew Carpenter is just a
pinch hitter. They lost ticks today obviously, and he's out
for the year. I think that for me, with the
defensive struggles that Kinnor Feleff has had, I would I
(10:59):
would put Oswald Parrazza in there. Seriously, I have him
on the roster and have him involved. Because the way
to beat Houston is some of the things that Seattle did,
which was run the bass, athleticism, putting the ball in play.
If if the Yankee lineup outside of a handful of
guys is it takes a lot of that bats to
(11:20):
look like a Typicaldonaldton that bad, they're not gonna win. Uh.
And you know, Josh has had a great career, but
he to me is he is sort of the emblematic
of when the Yankees don't have success. It's a little
bit too much all or nothing for me, and they've
got to find a way to balance things out. I
would I would put as Waldo Cabrera and oswald Brazza
(11:42):
in there and and let him let him play some
small ball, let him put the ball and play good
at bats, move the line. That's what I would do.
And and I think that you know, having a bit
more you know, I think Labor Torres obviously, uh, in
addition to having one of the more viral memes of
the postseason at the final out, you know, he's played
a little bit better here of late. And I think
(12:02):
he's a really key guy to get on base in
front of Judge. So there's there's a way for them
to win. But I just I think Houston right now
is a better team. One through six, Yankees bat two
but hit nine home runs in the series. Find that's
exactly the point, so you get there. The heroes returned.
So I think from a viewership standpoint, major League Baseball
(12:25):
has some happiness there that they'll never admit. But behind
the scenes, maybe a little bit of chess stumping. UH,
that goes on. But but JP, as we watched the
playoffs go on and you talk about all the changes
to the rules, are we are we ever going to
get back to get him on, get him over, get
him in baseball? For anybody? Is anybody bold enough to
(12:46):
try to go that strategy? Or is that too far gone?
The Guardians did? I think, I mean that that was
how I when I watched that play That's what I see.
Stephen Kwan's a revelation. I love the way he plays,
I love the way he plays um and Racimenez has
a little bit of that in his game. Jose Ramirez,
I think at his best has that plus power. Gonzalez
(13:09):
really had a tremendous year for for Cleveland. So I
think that that's where I really thought that in some
ways the Guardians would have been a more interesting foil
contrast in styles to Houston. UH, with the way that
they play. I would have sort of stylistically, that's kind
of a bit more. My flavor of postseason ball is
(13:32):
is sort of the way the Cardinals played going back
kind of eleven years ago. Uh that that that and
even longer than that, certainly back of the eighties too.
That to me was was what I would like to
see in the playoffs that those kinds of at bats
and and obviously the Yankees are not They're not that.
And so we're about to find out if if the
Yankees are going to be able to handle this this
(13:54):
totally overwhelming pitching staff that Houston has. I think that
the way to do it is by short up and
taking what they give you. Unless your name is Judge
your Stanton. I mean, if you're if you're hitting the ball, uh,
you know, four or fifty ft with a decent amount
of regularity, then in my mind, you've earned the right
to swing for the downs. But if you're if you're not,
(14:15):
then then it's time to adjust. And I think the
new baseball that's coming next year with respect to the
shift not being in play, that to me, Mike is
going to incentivize that exact method of of offense. So
I think it's it's coming. I would just say be patient.
We'll get back to you about that. In the meantime,
(14:37):
you're gonna see some power from some significant players. And
and in the meantime you'll see your Don Olivers do
what he does. Bragman had a big series with power.
I just think Houston right now, I realized I just
covered them, so I sort of have seen them up close.
I just think they're they're a dangerous team. Plus they're
pitching depth. My gosh, Louis Garcia through a through a
(14:58):
quality start in extra innings. Think about that in game
three in Seattle. So that's pretty exceptional. You've got Christian
Javier who can do either role. Hunter Brown has been
really good. I means sayra Kati is a very valuable guy.
I mean, they just have as as they would say,
is as I love to say in Spanish, the depth
(15:20):
of pitching is advantage to Houston. Wow, there you go.
You got any more interviews on on Italian television? You're
coming up soon or are you? So? Here's here's the story.
All right, I'm gonna tell I'm gonna give you guys
a preview for tomorrow. All right, you've got the Aaron
Nola Austin Nola matchup. Aaron Nola starts against his brother
(15:43):
and the Padre. They are from the town of Nola, Italy.
Their name comes from the town They're great grandparents were
born and Nola, Italy immigrated to the US. And and
basically Nolah Italy is a very small place. It's like
twenty miles away as the crow flies from Mount Vesuvia's.
(16:05):
This is east of naples Um in Catania. So there
you go. So so now you know it goes all
the way back to Italy. You've got the Nola brothers.
And the first pitch time of the game tomorrow actually
is ideally schedule. It's basically it's gonna be like prime
time in Italy because it's an afternoon game out of
the West coast, so it'll be perfectly timed. I hope
(16:25):
that every pub every in in Nola, Italy has tuned
to American Baseball to watch two of their native sons
playing in the National League Championship Series. How about that
awesome stuff? As always, whether it's here or Nola, Italy.
John Paul Morossi on Twitter at John Rossy. MLB Network
here all the time on Fox Sports Radio JP is
(16:46):
always bunny. Thanks my friend. We'll talk to you next week.
Enjoy the games, all right, very gutie shirt. Make sure
all those words can be very very good. Uh. Coming
up next? Great stuff from Major League Baseball. Hey, way,
do we tell you what's happening with the Lakers and
(17:07):
the Warriors right now? If you thought, if you thought
James Harden was great tonight? Whoa, it's coming up next
right here. Fox. Be sure to catch live editions of
The Jason Smith Show with Mike Harman weekdays at ten
pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific, Fox Sports Radio The Jason
Smith Show with my base friend Mike Harmon. We are
(17:29):
live from the tire Act dot com studios. The Breeders
Cup World Championships coming Icona, Keenland November four and fifth.
Don't miss the world's best thoroughbred's race for their share
of thirty one million dollars in persons and awards. Visit
breeders Cup dot com to watch all the action live
on November four and five. Right now, midway through the
(17:49):
A little bit duh, About nine and a half to
go in the second quarter, close one between Golden State
and the Lakers. Golden State leads to two. Warriors have
pretty balanced scoring so far. Steph has four, Clay has
got a couple. But for the Lakers, it's Anthony Davis
leading the way so far with ten points and three rebounds.
(18:13):
He's already shot four for six from the floor. Yes,
it's early in the season. And if it was good
for James Harden to look like James Harden tonight, uh,
it is great for the NBA again. If Anthony Davis
looks like this guy going forward, I know it will
fall forward again and Anthony Davis will eventually get hurt.
But you take your victories where you get them. And
(18:34):
A d looks good, he looks dominant. He looks like
the old Anthony Davis. Great news. That's great news because
outside of that, everybody just wants the Lakers to flop.
At this point, every NBA fan, they look at the Lakers.
They're a train wreck. Let's see. Oh Westbrook winds up
starting again for the team. I thought he was coming
off the bench, he's not. I want to watch the
(18:55):
Lakers and laugh at them. That's what the general NBA
fan wants right now. They don't want the Lakers to
be great. Lebron to win championships. We've already seen that's happen. Now,
let's look at the train wreck the Lakers are. How
entertaining they were last year they went out and got
Russell Westbrook and they couldn't even make the playoffs. Oh
my god, watching Lebron not make it was awesome. People
watch the Lakers to want to laugh now, and that's
(19:18):
what people want to watch Golden States the champs. Right, all,
let's see the uh the average NBA fan wants Golden
State to win by fifty so we could have the
haha Lakers storyline. People like to laugh. They want to
laugh at the Lakers. Now. See I needed to start well, right, Look,
some folks just want to hate watch all eighty two games. Now,
you gotta pace yourself. They've gotta be some good vibration.
(19:40):
There's gotta be some excitement. There's gotta be some columns
about how it's the return to greatness, and then the
other shoe drops and bad things happen in a fight
in you know, in in the in fighting in the back.
Because when they came out sluggish and right now down
eight at the TV time out there one for fifth
team from three point range it's not good for anybody.
(20:02):
Lebron James three of ten overall, over five from three
point range. But Anthony Davis showing some bursts coming in
playing center, right, they said he was playing center, and
look at the position less NBA. But we'll take our
victories where we can, particularly for you people in fantasy
basketball who are making sure that that positional eligibility is there,
and given the dearth of centers in the league, but
(20:25):
we look at the the opportunity for the Lakers too,
They're always relevant. I don't want him as a laughing
stock right off the jump. I want to see them
play well. I want to see it work. Maybe it's
a little odd with Russell Westbrook and maybe on the outlaider,
maybe maybe I'm the guys maybe Westbrook. No no, no,
no no no no no no no. But look, you
(20:46):
you can have things on the court. Look, it's it's
not always gonna be fluid, alright, But he starts and
maybe there's some good, good play out of the jump.
But it's an eight two game season. The shows tonight,
and as as we we have long said, and and
I've long admired the idea of finding your wins right
(21:07):
on a day to day basis, things maybe miserable, and
the pendulum may maybe swinging against you, but in the
moment you can find that one little bit of sunlight
and and feel good about it. For the Lakers right now,
Anthony Davis with ten points and playing ten minutes thus far,
you'll take it. You'll take it on opening night, because
(21:27):
let's face it, it's like the NFL and what we're
trying to watch right now where SI plus are hitting
the unders. If you're a betting person, And Tom Brady
said and echoed what I was saying, and hell, I
guess we're kindred spirit because I'm also I. I also
defended him yesterday against the heat. Doesn't care kind of conversations.
(21:48):
You can find those podcasts wherever you get your audio
download and give it five stars. Will love you forever
and ever. Amen. But Tom Brady saying the football is bad, well,
basketball is gonna be the same thing. A right short preseason,
some work outs, and obviously guys are working out and
playing basketball in the off season, but it's gonna be sloppy,
it's gonna be disjointed. The minute totals for these guys
(22:08):
that they're playing are gonna be a bit off. But
I see a smiling Russell Westbrook on the bench. I'm
feeling good about life here on a Tuesday night. Well,
everybody's happy. We're playing basketball. No one has a loss yet.
It's the middle of the first question, everybody, that's the point.
Let's let's celebrate it. Matt Ryan, just like he did
for three nine yards the other night when Indianapolis took
(22:31):
down Jacksonville. Matt Ryan just hit a long range shot
for the Lakers. It beautiful double duty. All right, I'm happy. Look,
I always look. We do appreciation minutes now for athletes.
You know, we want to keep the positivity flowing. But
that's where we have to we're in we're in the
middle of the second quarter, of course, everybody. Draymond Green
is like talking to all these women that are sitting
next to him on the bench, Like when he's out
(22:53):
of the game. I'm like, uh, is he doing a podcast?
Is he? Well? What's that? Everybody's happy? Right, he's giving
out riddles on the bench. Oh is it really? Oh
that's good? So and I I actually hit Jordan Pool right.
Don't think that guy hit me? Right? You saw that
video camera angles weren't good. I threw that, but I connected.
I did this, and then he tried to throw at
me and I backed away. Man, I was just that
(23:13):
was me. Don't think anything else than that video. Tell
your frus Wayne, yeah that you're putting out the documentary
what happened on that day and claiming that, oh, I
didn't know it was that big a deal. I was
with my kids. Yeah, okay, I want to show you
I'm with my kids. I'm a good guy. I'm not
(23:35):
with my kids. It's still one of those situations where like,
I still need some more of the backstory. I mean,
I need, you know, behind the music or behind the
practice video or whatever the title we're getting. Did Draymond
really throw the punch? Yes he did. But did he
really throw the punch? Yes he did. But did he
(23:55):
really throw the punch? Yes he did so thirty four
thirty four twenty nine Warriors Lakers are cut it to
five now, eight minutes to go in the first half,
and Russell Westbrook is still on the bench for the Lakers.
He has played eight minutes so far in the first half.
(24:16):
But it's not like everybody else is playing tons of minutes.
Lebron has been out for nine so it's not like, uh,
he's sitting at eight minutes. Everybody else is a ton Uh.
You are seeing the Lakers parse out there minutes bit
by bit here as the game is still within range
for them. Again, it's it's the first half and everybody's
happen just but it's but it's opening night. We had
the Celtics and the Sixers and a near brawl, Marcus
(24:38):
Smart and Joel and Bead getting into it like it's
a mid season. It's great. It's up everyone for a
long time. That's the best part of the NBA. It's
every night is Opening Night for like the first month
of the year. It's an Opening Night goes for like
an entire month. It's like major League Baseball. How many
opening days do we get? Oh man, look how many
homecoming games are we part of? If you're a college team.
(24:58):
My wife's and is the master at making her birthday
like a birthday month instead of a birthday. Right, Like
most of us, we get our birthday and maybe we get, hey,
my birthdays tonight, but I have to work, so tomorrow
we're going to do this. You know, whatever you got.
She is a master at making it the month of
her birthday, where well, on Monday night, we're gonna go
(25:20):
out with my friends from work, and then Wednesday we're
gonna go bowling with some other friends who are coming
into town. Friday, a couple of close friends and I
are gonna go out to dinner. Sunday, we're gonna go
to the Tigers game together. My friend got me ticket.
Like she's found a way to make like the entire
month of the this is my birthday, and it's it's genius.
I don't know how she does it. And the NBA
(25:41):
has found the same way. Every night is open night. Well,
the but the Warriors they played five games. You have
a tonight the Warriors are playing the Celtics. Okay, yeah,
and then then the Warriors are playing the Grizzly So
it's okay. For a month, every night is open. Everything
is new for the NBA for an entire month. Say,
going back to that birthday thing, If you're able to
pull that off and get a bunch of free meals
(26:02):
and drinks or whatever for weeks at a time, good
on you. I just don't like people enough to even
try to do any of that kind of stuff. We
could talk about how complicated other banks make it to
adeem credit card rewards, or we could talk about how
with Discover you can redeem your rewards for cash and
any amount of any time. I mean talk about amazing
learn more at discover dot com slash redeem rewards terms
(26:23):
they do apply. Uh So we got more on the NBA.
More from Major League Baseball coming up in a couple
of minutes. But you know, I hate to say I
told you so. I I do, Mike. I hate to
say I told you he said it in eighteen times.
Yesterday I was saying it was spinning. I hate to
say I told you so. But last week I gave
(26:45):
you two big bold predictions for the two biggest games
of the week in the NFL. I told you Cooper
Rush was gonna throw three picks. Cooper rushed through three picks.
The Eagles won. I said, the loser of Bill's Chiefs,
the loser to the loser of Bills Chiefs, was going
to trade for Christian McCaffrey. And what did the Chiefs
(27:09):
do today? They readjusted Travis Kelsey's contract to make all
his money in terms of a bonus to free up
about three and a half million dollars in money. Uh,
they're getting ready to make a big move. They're getting
ready to chief because it was it was gonna be
(27:29):
the reaction, right, This is why I said the losing
team was gonna go get Christian McCaffrey because this is
your de facto a f C Championship game preview, right,
Bills in the Chiefs and the losing team was gonna say, man,
we gotta do a little bit more to catch up
to them. And the Chiefs lost a game at home?
What are they going to do? Hey, we gotta do
something big. There is no doubt in my mind the
(27:51):
Chiefs are doing something. But I feel like Brian Windhorse
with that. Now, why is that mean? Right when his
fingers are up in the air and talking about the Jazz? Now,
why is that the Chiefs are freed up three and
a half million dollars today by read readdoing Travis Kelsey's contract? Now,
why is that they're gonna do? Stop so good? Uh?
He's a new Levy on belt. Yeah. Uh, they're gonna
(28:14):
do something that. Don't mess around with Odell Beckham. I
hope that's not what they're trying to do. We're gonna, hey,
we're gonna go get down. Odell is not gonna help you.
You gotta go a little bit bigger. Go get Christian McCaffrey.
He's gonna make everything better on that team. This is
what you need to go do. But make no mistake,
the Chiefs are gonna do something really barely big by
(28:37):
the deadline. That team that's gonna make the big move.
I like the opportunity here. The curiosity is what what
do you do with the Let's see, the Panthers haven't
done a restructure on McCaffrey's contract, clearing about five point
five million in cap space, and then so trying to
figure out you know, it's fuzzy math, especially the way
(28:58):
the Rams have started to show people what you can
do to a salary cap if you want. You got
a lot of teams that could be in the mix here, right,
the Chiefs among them. Denver we talked about a little
bit yesterday expected Melvin Gordon. There's a whole lot of
weirdness there. Uh. When Hackett then says, hey, we just
didn't have a lot of plays, like, well, you had
enough plays for Latavia's Murray, didn't have any plays for
(29:21):
Melvin Gordon. But Uh, and they showed him as a
clown on the job Botron, but you have all that
going on cam Akers Uh, potentially on the move, but
forty Niners could use another running back right health of
Eli Mitchell. Jeff Wilson's good not great, uh, and trying
to make sure you've got some more explosive plays in
that offense which have been lacking. And this goes back
(29:41):
to Uh Shanahan. You can get creative in the second half,
just like your counterpart Cliff Kingsbury needs to coach well
for a full game, but certainly in the first half
an absolute disaster, uh, week after week. So you've got Denver,
You've got San Francisco. We talked about both Buffalo and
can in the City game. You would have thought it
(30:03):
was fifty eight fifty or something like that the way
people have gone into this game. Oh wow, what I ment? Okay,
that's fine. It was ten points over the the set
over underlined by Vegas, so it didn't quite live up
to the height, but it was close and we got excited.
And everybody wants to crown Josh Allen after mocking him
and hating him for multiple years. But that's okay. Um,
(30:25):
that that that's all finding good. Uh. We we've got
those teams that mix they're in and you know there's
always gonna be a surprise team or history team that
come into play. And we look at salary cap, you
look at draft capital. Chiefs have what twelve thirteen draft picks.
That's one of the things to watch as related to
(30:46):
what they could be able to offer Carolina in a
recomplete rebuild mode. So the opportunity being being there. But yeah,
it just you gotta overwhelm them. You've got many suitors,
so who comes strongest to the table. The restructuring of
Kelsey is a nice sign that something is going to happen.
(31:07):
But but what? But what curious minds want to know?

(32:13):
But if you wanted Daniel Snyder out of the NFL, well,
I think you're gonna get your wish. Uh. Today was
a very big watershed day in will the league ever
remove Snyder as an owner? All the all the bad
vibes that we've had the last week since Daniel Snyder
(32:35):
came out. According to a big ESPN reports that I
got during, all the other owners in the NFL, and
if they ever want to kick me out for any reason,
I have stuff on them. Hired private detectives to look
into other owners Jerry Jones, Roger Goodell this where he
has had numerous scandals over the course of the last
decade in running the Washington football team. Today, Colts owner
(32:59):
Jim or Say responded with, Oh, Daniel Snyder, may have
you ever wanted to get rid of him? Could happen?
Take a listen. I believe that there's a merrit to
remove him as owner of the Redskins. I think it's
something that we have to review. We have to look
(33:21):
at all the evidence, and we have to be thorough
in going forward. Okay, well, first commanders not Redskins, but
that's okay. Uh. He is the first owner to come
out against another owner like that in the NFL. Ever,
no one has done that. Why today? Why is this
(33:42):
happening today? Because Daniel Snyder overplayed his hand. These other
owners aren't guys who are gonna run scared. These are
guys that are worth billions of dollars and they're like, Oh, really,
you think I'm gonna run scared because you say you
have dirt on me. Oh that's the ab salute. Wrong call.
The fact that Snyder was walking around saying that, according
(34:04):
to the ESPN report, that I got no one's gonna
No one's gonna challenge me because I got dirt on them.
These aren't guys that are gonna shrink away and say, okay,
I'm not gonna say anything. No, these are guys are
gonna say, oh you think so, you think that's gonna happen.
Guess what, Danny, We're coming after you. Now you think
that's the case. Now it's gonna be thirty one against one.
And now slowly owners are gonna get behind this because
(34:24):
they're all pissed that Daniel Snyder has this kind of
attitude against them and has had people follow follow owners
and and try to get dirt on them. They're pissed.
And now this is what's gonna push Daniel Snyder out
of the NFL. Had he just been quiet and he
just not walked around saying all these things, he'd still
wind up being an owner. It would be a very
difficult thing to do. But now these guys are pissed,
(34:47):
and here's Jim or say, the first guy saying it.
Now it's gonna be a little bit of time. They'll
get time on their side. They'll get that twenty four
votes and Daniel Snyder will be out. Now it's happening. Yeah,
you have the response from Snyder that went out and
immediately thereafter responding to the esp A the ESPN article saying, hey,
I take this quite seriously, trying to erode the trust
(35:08):
and goodwill between the owners that I take quite seriously.
Quote I've never instructed or authorized my lawyers to hire
any private investigator on my behalf for such a purpose,
and I never would talking about fierce competition, so many
other things, and another statement it was all about the hey,
there's progress been made these last couple of years here
(35:29):
and calling out Ersay specifically. And then you see a
number of reports from reporters saying they've been told there
are several owners that are in agreement with Ersay, you know,
the old anonymous sauces slash sources. But it's a question
of whether you can get to the all important number
of twenty four. They'll get there, it may take a
little while. It's not gonna be something overnight. They're not
(35:50):
gonna vote on it this week. And hey, aren't you
pissed at Daniel Snyder. Yes, let's get rid of them,
but this is gonna be a process that today was
the one that started it. Now We're gonna get Daniel's
iter out, and it's his fault for doing the whole Oh,
we got a lot of dirt coming up next to
the tirect dot Com studios. Big stuff from Night one
of the NBA
