(00:46):
tire buying should be a buck forty nine left to
go and we may bring this NFL game in in
less than three hours. Eagles have a time out. The
Commanders have the football and a five point lead. One
first down by Washington and this game is over. But

(01:07):
the Eagles can get the ball back. One last gas
drive again down five with just under two minutes left
to go. And how the Eagles got here? It looked
like the Eagles were set to take the lead a
huge play on the last possession, Philadelphia having trouble running
the football. Hasn't been a lot of Miles Sanders tonight
so far, so they've been relying on Big Way on

(01:32):
Jalen Hurts, and Hurts throws a deep past to Quez
Watkins for fifty yards and he catches the ball and
he falls down but he's not touched, so he gets
up to keep running, which is what all wide receivers do,
and as he's getting up, the ball is popped out
the Commander's recover. So now they have the football. Instead

(01:52):
of what was gonna be a first and first down
inside the twenty yard line in the red zone for
the Eagles, instead they turn it back go to the commanders.
Commanders pointed back to the Eagles, but this was Philadelphia
had the ball and they were on the cusp of
getting a touchdown that would have given them the lead
instead another turnover. Three turnovers tonight for the Eagles might
turnovers they had in every game up until tonight, three

(02:16):
like plusift right, Yeah, three turnovers the first eight weeks
of the season, and three tonight. Sometimes it's that simple, yeah,
that that fumbles ridiculous. Now that Godard one was a
fumbull should have been a face mask. But it is
what it is. Bad call, you move forward, and unfortunately
they've got super tow and Joey sly working against him.
But like this this ball, I mean, I gotta give

(02:37):
full credit to the defense back mus Oh sorry, buddy,
go ahead, finish your point, tell chase him down and
to knock the ball free. The ball squirted. I mean,
that was one of those Chris Berman whoop whoop kind
of plays towards the sideline before they finally recovered. Uh.
And now we have more Nicks, mad Nick Sirianni Wow. Okay,

(03:00):
So here's what just happened. And I can't believe this happened.
The Commanders are facing a third and seven with a
minute forty five left to go, and they have the
ball near midfield. They roll Heinicky out and there's nobody anywhere.
There's nobody anywhere for him. He takes the sack, he

(03:23):
goes down on one knee. The play is over and
he's touchdown. You gotta be touchdown, and Reddick touches him down,
but Brandon Graham comes flying out of nowhere and hits
him a good second and a half after he has
taken a knee. That's a personal foul. So now all
Washington's gonna do is kill the clock here. Uh, the

(03:46):
Eagles do have a time out left to go, but
it would have been a punt and the Eagles would
have had the football, and instead Washington's gonna likely run
out the clock. I I can't understand that. I mean,
I'm getting flashbacks to Jonathan Franklin, my late hitting Mac
Jones or the Jets would have the best record in
the a f C right now. But that play is
that's just inexcusable. He takes a knee, he takes a knee,

(04:09):
and he's touched down by another player. Right, That's the
thing is he takes a knee and he's touched down
by another player, and I'm gonna come in and knock
him over, and it's an easy flag for the rest
to throw. And Heinek is celebrating like he threw a
touchdown to win the Super Bowl. He's jumping up and down. Yeah,
first out, I got the call. They hit me, I
got the call. Well, the worst is he's also on

(04:30):
the ground. He could have had his leg bent on
like the fact that he was able to jump up
and celebrate is huge. But Graham, the way he hits
him and goes for the push that could have been
disastrous for for Heineke. But just a dumb play. I mean,
there's no other way to describe it. He got touched down,
plays over and you're diving in. What do you think

(04:53):
he was playing possible? This wasn't street football where you'd
have the guy I'll pretend like you pulled a hamstring
and lay down the forget about you and get back up. Now,
we've seen similar plays in the NFL, right, the late
release by a running back, tight end whatever to to
go make a play. But this was a quarterback. He
already knelt down, literally just gave himself up. And you

(05:16):
go and commit and agregious penally, it's gonna cost you
this football game. We had the best game of the
year yesterday in the NFL Bills and Vikings, and then
we had this game tonight that's full of chock full
of mistakes and officiating mistakes. The Bills Bills Vikings game
had that, man, they had plenty of official problems as well,

(05:36):
but yeah, this was this is crazy. I mean, they
would at least had a chance, right, and the way
they'd moved the football, they'd had big plays probably is
they didn't have the football lot right. Still put up
twenty one points. They're gonna finish with what nineteen just
under twenty minutes of possession for the game. Yeah, they
doubled them up. They're good to have to punt the

(06:00):
ball back because the clock is going to the play
clock is gonna expire with about ten seconds left to go,
and the Commanders are facing fourth down, So they're gonna
have to make a play of some kind now, whether
they try to go for it on fourth and nine,
Taylor Heinek is still on the field. I I guess
you have two Shawn Jackson flashbacks if I don't want

(06:21):
to do the Tom Coughlin punt to him. He runs
it back for a touchdown to win the game. But
they're gonna have to do something here on fourth and nine.
The ball is still on their side of midfield. I
really can't believe they're gonna go for it, and in fact, okay,
they're not. Now Tara Heinek looks like he's leaving the
field and special teams are coming on the field, so

(06:41):
there is likely going to be a punt and the
Eagles will have probably one play, one ton of crazy play,
whatever they want to do. Now, I do like the
fact that he did want to yield the field. Right.
It's been one of my biggest criticism of some of
the biggest quarterbacks that we have in the game of
you've got an opportunity to finish things, you're gonna have
to drag me off. And I mean he was still
hopping up and down. I mean he was so excited

(07:03):
by that late hit. You never seen someone so excited
to take a late hit penalty. Yeah, Hey, I did it.
I did it. I took the penalty. Ray uh and
right and and well, the big news obviously at t J.
Right now, there's going to be some champagne popped from
the seventy two Dolphins as their unbeaten season will continue

(07:28):
for another year. You know what, though, there's five seconds.
They gotta ninety yards in one play. Ninety yards in
one I mean t O was really fast. Yeah uh, well,
you know mcnapkins sling it, you know, maybe he throws
it deep and it happens. Oh uh so. Yeah, So

(07:49):
one play left for the Eagles from the ten yard
line now to stop frost. But you're the one last hour,
It says, oh, you really think the Commanders are gonna win?
Come on, they're not gonna win. This guy. Can you
an opportunity to teck that bet? And you didn't? How
can they do it? How can they do it? And
the baby, oh boy? And they all they defensive touchdown?
What does that mean in Vegas? Oh? Man, well, everybody's

(08:12):
gonna cry. They were already plus eleven and a half. Uh,
and the final score is gonna be thirty two twenty one.
The Eagles try to run a razzle dazzle throwback play
and the ball winds up loose in the end zone.
It's recovered for a touchdown. So thirty two one is
gonna be your final score. Commanders beat the Eagles. Can

(08:33):
you imagine anybody playing the Commander's defense and fantasy like
it gets? It's tough. That's all I have as a
commanded Nothing I can do. I'm gonna wind up losing
by just a couple of points and you get that, Oh,
by the way, touchdown on the last play of the game. Now,
we already had the over hit, so the over under
considerations were there live betting. If you've taken the Eagles
plus one and a half at halftime, Uh, you're you're

(08:56):
definitely a loser coming out, right. So there are no
more unbeaten teams in the NFL, and there's going to
be a lot of all the Eagles steak. I knew
they were over rade. It's time out. They lost a game.
It happens they turned the football over three times. Wasn't

(09:17):
a good game for them. They still got rooked on
a couple of bad penalty calls, including the face mass penalty.
But it was a bad game. They didn't play great.
You think they would play better at home against the
Commander's team. That is, you know, just under five they lost?
There are eight. No, this is not the end. This
is still the best roster in the NFC. There's still
a great team. Nothing has changed for the Philadelphia Eagles.

(09:40):
And maybe they would have had a chance if Brandon
Graham doesn't hit the quarterback. Uh where after he takes
a knee on third and seven. All right, so it's
the Eagles lost. Was it a great night for them? No?
But how many teams can we look at in the
NFL that are really good? Where you want to scratch
it and go, man, how did you lose that game?
This year? It happens everywhere, right, How did a Cowboys
lose yesterday? Let's scratch your head? How did the Bills

(10:02):
lose yesterday? Scratch your head? And they fumble and all
they do is run forward and josh Alan fumbles. Okay,
but I can already see the hate rising and everyone
for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are still good. I
told you before the season they were going to the
super Bowl. They're still going to the Super Bowl. Jail
Hurts still gonna be the m v P. Everything is
just fine with Philadelphia. I like that. You you have
your strong resolve. There's there's no question about it. You're

(10:25):
fired up about it. Uh yeah, it's it's the curiosity,
right everybody good loss? Do they need a loss? You
had all those conversations all week, right, We've talked about
it the last couple of weeks, of the huge leads
that they'd built and then having to battle back. Today
was going to be one of those days. They didn't
possess the ball. Offense worked well in the first half,

(10:49):
you know, for the seven minutes that they possessed them
football and now you you come through. Obviously there was
the interception as well, but you had two touchdown drives.
You're feeling good. Your defense couldn't get off field. Would
I be concerned about that? Going back to Dallas, right
just for a minute to time together, same division, whatever, Yeah,
I would be a little concerned that I couldn't get
the get off the field, you know, tip of the

(11:10):
cap to to Washington. This goes back to the John
Riggins point that I well stopped all over earlier when
he had the Hogs right where you're you're running and
you're imposing your will. Although I wasn't sure whether you're
gonna go Jets John Riggins with the Mohawks. Oh no, no, no,
I gotta go Hoggs John. Yeah, so Hoggs John John Riggins.
And that's what Brian Robinson was today in the first half,

(11:34):
just imposed his will. That offensive line did a great
job and obviously for the game, we talked about it
time of possession. So now you go forward and yeah,
you gotta fix that. The dumb penalty you have to address.
But you had an uncharacteristic game here in week ten
to close it out. Yeah, everything checked the boxes, double

(11:54):
digit favorite division opponent. They're in chaos behind the scene,
but their locker room game together and they had a
good game plan and they executed. And for one game
you did not. You couldn't get off the field. You
had the fumble after a fifty yard completion. I mean,
the football gods decided they were not going to help

(12:15):
you in any way either. You talk about officiating like
all of that, that usually balances out. You know, some
plays more egregious than others. But when we when it's
all said, it's it's a loss, it is one loss.
Now you re regroup and get back to work. Yeah,
they look they looked a little flat tonight. That's all
it was, right, they looked a little flat. Were just

(12:36):
past the midway point of the season. They had a clunker.
It's okay. You go through every team, Super Bowl winning teams,
you go through their schedule and go ooh, they lost
that game. They lost that game to the Browns, they
lost that game with the Jets on Monday night football.
It's one that so you go way back for that
one while it's personal, and that was a I was
laid up with a really messed up lay watching those

(12:58):
games at the end of the season. So yeah, that one. Uh,
I remember it all too well. So it's just a
bad night again. You're gonna see the It's just one let.
They're still late in one. Everything is fine. Hey, you
know who their next opponent is. Oh, they got Ted
Lasso coming up, Buddy, Ted Lasso and the Indianapolis Cults

(13:18):
are coming up. Be sure to catch live editions of
The Jason Smith Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten
pm Eastern seven pm Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and
the I Heart Radio AP and t J. Heinekes for
everyone at the bar after the win for the Commanders tonight,
they're on a roll, man. They're on a roll four

(13:39):
on the last five after a rough start, even with
all the chaos swirling around them. I did like that.
Anytime we can get a Heineke slash Heineken reference, we've won. No. Hey, Now,
that was like a really bougie beer. Back in the day,
it was it was Mike or bruising all. Don't touch
my heinie. Wow, and mark the tape on that tie shirt.

(14:01):
Let's save that one. Uh. You know, I never was
a Heineken guy because it's got way too much alcohol.
And it's got way to come on. Man. I was hey,
Core's Light and Modello those are my Oh dude, I
love smear No, but I couldn't. You can't drink like
more than one smearing off fight before you go it's fine.
No no, no, no no, not Florida. But I have

(14:22):
to stop because it's too sweet. But I was never
a Heineken. It just didn't like the taste of it.
Like you know what, look when start drinking COR's Light
when you're you're okay. I like Core's Light, So I
never liked Heineken's like AT's okay. And then when Pam
and I went to Amsterdam, like it's twenty years ago.
I went to Europe for for a birthday, and uh
we toured the Heineken plant, the Heineken brewery because that's

(14:44):
where they make it, is Amsterdame. So they go, you
go through the whole tour, you see, because it's something
to do in Amsterdam. It's like, okay, great, we go
through the whole thing and they give you. They give
you Heineken after they go have a beer, after they
have like this little tasting thing and they give it.
Say said, you want to beer? I'm like yes, I mean,
I'm not a big Heineken fan, like, oh, it's in
a brown bottle. They go, yeah, it's a brown bottles.
How we do it here? I said okay, And the
woman tells me, says, are you beg Heineken fan? I

(15:05):
said dat. She goes yeah. I said yeah, no, not really.
She goes, ah, why and I said, I had the
taste is It's just I don't know, I'm just something
about the taste. I'm just not the biggest fan. I
like other beers. That's fine, but try this one. I'm like, okay,
and I try it and it's amazing and it's one
of the top three beers I've ever had in my life.
And I go, oh my god, this is outstanding. And

(15:26):
she goes, yeah, isn't it? And I said, why doesn't
it taste like this the United States? And go just
when we make it and we ship it over, it
just tastes different, loses something in the something. I'm like,
this is amazing and the brown bottle is the best
Einek and it's one of the best beers I've ever
had in my life. And she says, just that when
when you got it? When you got a bottle it
and put it on. That's what happens. I was like, Wow,

(15:47):
So that goes because we always talk about pizza and
and water, right and all those things. Right that that
was a branding thing for bagel places and all these
other things here in Los Angeles. Certainly, it's like we're
bringing the authentic New York stuff. What's different about it?
The water? Yeah, yeah, the water, the water in the pizza,

(16:08):
the water in the bagels, the waters, the water, the water,
and maybe here I mean something the color of the glass.
I don't know. Now, Hey, now, speaking of Burman, before
we get back into football, I've been waiting to do
this all day? Can I can? I? Can I do? Can?
Can I do? All day? Sometime for Sunday night? Baby

(16:31):
headlines come up during the day and I go, I
can't wait to do this bit on the show side.
How would Burman announced this story? Okay, so I gotta do.
How would Berman announce Carolin O'Connor becoming the new president
of the Marlins? Right, because it's a big deal, Right,
Marlin's now have a female team president and a female
GM right Iron Kimning two years ago? Just a big deal.

(16:51):
Carolin O'Connor is the new team president. So how would
Berman announce that I got three? I got three coming
your way? Al right, first one, Hey, I like this
because you know what's coming. Everybody. Everybody knows what's coming.
If you're at a certain age, it doesn't really know
what you know what's coming, and it doesn't matter, uh.

(17:13):
T J. The Marlins keeping it all in the family
by making Carolin O'Connor the new team president. DJ. There
it was, there's one. All right, let rip off the
band aid. Let's get to the second one. Let's go,
t J. D. You can't even do it with d
J An does you do this? Actually he's running this?

(17:37):
And then if t J laughs, take it to throw
stuff at him or something. T J the t J
J t J. The Marlins come out of the bunker
to announce Carolin O'Connor as their new team president. No,
you didn't like the way Glenn Miller played last one?

(18:00):
You ready? Yeah? Okay, there's no tree. Now I'm gonna
put my coffee over here, because either I do a
spit take if I take a sip, or I throw
it at you this way if it's out of my reach,
I can't do either of those. T J. While the
weather in Florida is hot, the heat of the night

(18:23):
wasn't too much for the Marlins to name Carolin team president.
You're fired use myself so easily sometimes. How did you
not get a terminator in there with Sarah O'Connor. No, no, no,
come on, Carolin, I gotta do Carolin O'Connor I mean,
that's Carol O'Connor songs. It made the pay You ever

(18:47):
seen that movie he was in with towards towards the
end with roberta ah for Robert Loja, No, I didn't.
It was MINTI Driver returned to me, David, I love
that movie. Whatever, David, that that's that's There's nothing that
says early two thousands other than David Ducovney and Mini

(19:10):
Driver starring in a movie together. Yeah, but it had
Robert loanteracting with Carol oct It was great. But he
had a long ass career, you said, Robert Loja, and
you go back from the seventies and the eighties and
the night I mean he had gee, gee, look behind you,
it's Robert Logan. You know. You know my brother and

(19:31):
I run that line quite a bit. He was in
town this weekend. There was a Robert Logan reference. Uh now,
look the game of the year yesterday in the NFL.
Let's get to that for a few minutes. Here, the
Bills find a way to blow the game against the Vikings.
Josh Allen fumbles on the goal line. All he's got
to do is run forward and the game is over. Instead,

(19:53):
the Vikings recover, the game goes to overtime, and the
Vikings come away with a thirty three third. You win.
It's the game was crazy, had a lot of back
and forth, had great heroics by Josh Allen, great heroics
by Kirk Cousins, an incredible catch by Justin Jefferson on
fourth and eighteen. This game had everything. But let's deal
with Josh Allen first. It's my fault. It's my fault.

(20:17):
What did I say Friday night on the show. There
is times when I watched Josh Allen on a drive
and I go, he's the best player I've ever seen
play quarterback. It doesn't happen all the time. It doesn't
happen all the time. But yeah, you got a little outside,
you had a little bit too much, and look what happened.
But there's times when I see Hi where he's so
unstoppable and there's nobody I've seen that can do it

(20:40):
like this, where he's just a machine, chunk yardage down
the field, making the right plays, making the right calls,
all of it. I can't get over it now. Again,
doesn't happen all the time, because you see he makes mistakes,
but he's never made a play like that. I had
a fumble like that on the goal I was gonna
do make sure you get the football. They could have
had a safety and still wound up winning the game,
but instead was the thing best. And that's like all right,

(21:04):
it's fumbling and kicking out the back of the end zone,
run off the back of the end zone, it once
around towards the end line, and then step out a
dance around to go to the end lock. You know what, though,
you you did reference the big catch by Jefferson, and
it's one that we will look at forever. Uh, it's
gonna be on every highlight reel to till the end

(21:25):
of time. Cam Lewis, I think said it best. And
I can't repeat his words verbatim because I have to
bleep out like every third one. Why didn't he just
knock the ball down. I said it in the moment
as Jefferson was corralling it, because he goes with two
hands and kind of blows and then Jefferson with whatever

(21:45):
is on those gloves. I mean, Spider Man is not
of stuff going on, and it's a ridiculous grabs, like wow,
he pulls that in, he rips it away from him.
He's got two hands on it, but he literally could
just punched it away and and we're out of that. So,
as he said it, if I blank and he blank,
do that, we win the blanketing game. You know what, guys,

(22:07):
they can't help themselves. I wanted the ball. I want
the I want the turnover chain, I want the ball.
I want the ball, And that's what happens. You got
an opportunity because so many defensive backs can't catch. So
I give him credit for at least thinking he could bag.
His blunt assessment of the point was that fault. I

(22:28):
thought I had it, but but really it is my
fault because I said Josh Allen, and then Josh Allen
loses a second game in a row and he came
out of it. Okay, So I still throw fine the
u c l injury was all right, and he looked okay.
Throwing the football another forty three times was all right,
except he couldn't avoid Patrick Peterson. It's my fault. I

(22:48):
I did it. I I cursed him. I said so
glowing things on Friday. Even then the gods football guy said, ah, yeah,
that that tasting kid. He thought he was funny. Okay,
you know what, let's let's give you this Josh Allen
the gold line. Yeah, and it's still had a couple
of big plays right where you're like wow, and then
the one where he came up to make a hit
after a turnover, right after an interception, and then he

(23:10):
laid on the ground for a minute like why why,
why why did you lead to tackle the ga with
your throwing What are you doing? Come on Mann? Not
the right side, not the right side. But for the
Vikings suddenly, now the conversation today is about them being legitimate.
Right here, they are they because it was a big game,
because it was here's the best of the a f C.

(23:33):
And you think the Vikings are they the best team
will certainly have a great record. Let's see what the
best of the NFC does in a game. Against the
quote best of the a f C. Now you have
to wait for the Vikings play the Jets, because that
truly tell you about the best answer. But look, it
wasn't a prime time game, so I have to work
about prime time Kirk. But this this is a year
and I can explain the Vikings this way. Why are
the Vikings so good this year? Why are they suddenly

(23:56):
you know, they're they're five and one, they're six and one. There,
seven and one, they're winning these games. Look at some
of the games the Vikings are playing. This is just
a year where the breaks are going their way. And
this is not to say, oh they're lucky, this was,
But how many times you've seen in years past? How
many games are they blow in the final two minutes
where a play didn't go their way? They didn't. Kirk
Cousins even said, we're getting the extra inches this year

(24:19):
that we hadn't gotten in year's pass And that's exactly
what goes on with the Vikings. Look back at a
couple of games they've played this year. Right, they played
the Bears in London. I got a toss up game
because you're going to London. They win that game, right,
They play Miami, but they play Miami and Teddy Bridgewater.
It's a break for them, right, and they were able
to win that game. You look at Buffalo's fumble. We're
gonna lose that game until Josh Allen fumbled on the

(24:40):
one yard line and couldn't hold on to the football.
The Vikings are getting those breaks. They have a couple
of games where yeah, they make the couple of plays
they need at the end instead of at one missing.
So it's almost like it's a math like at some
point you would expect the breaks to even out, and
the last few years you could tell the Vikings haven't
been getting them. They're getting them all right now, and
it's great. It's evening out. That's why if you're for

(25:00):
the Vikings, just enjoy this magic carpet ride. Right. You
didn't expect this to be this kind of year. And
they're not playing any worse. They've played really good in
years past. It just hasn't broken their way. They're getting
the breaks, they're getting those extra inches. There's no magic potion. Yes,
having a new head coach in and having O'Connell in
is great because you have you have new ideas coming in.
You make the big move for t J. Hockenson, which

(25:21):
already you can see that's a big deal. But he's
already caught more passes than any tight end they've had
the first seven weeks of the season. So yeah, they're
they're the little changes, the slight things that are happening.
But mainly it's they are getting some of the breaks
and the ball is bouncing their way on big plays
when it hasn't in the year's passed. And that's why
the Vikings are sitting there with one loss and while
at the top of the NFC now tied for the

(25:42):
best record in the NFC. And that's what is so
enjoy it like it's a magic carpet, right, maybe you can.
It becomes a day where the Vikings don't get the
breaks and something they come back to the back of it.
Or it's a year where, boy, it's a magical year
when you look back and say, remember all those great
things that happened, Well, I can't believe we came back
to beat the Bills that way. I can't believe. Many
things have gone right, have gone their way, even even

(26:03):
games win the offense has fallen. Uh, they they've wound
up winning games and the defenses has bailed them out
a little bit. So it's it's just getting the breaks
they haven't gotten. It's evening out better with possession of
the football right there there plus eight and turnover differential
that second only to the Eagles, Right, Eagles lose that
margin today, so it closes the gap a little bit.

(26:25):
But I mean second, Kirk Cousins for the most part
doing a good job taking care of the ball and
making big throws, making better decisions, not trying to force
the ball in two tight spots, and finding the open
receiver you look at defensively, you bring in Zadarius Smith. Uh,
you just steal him from the Packers they could use him. Uh.

(26:45):
Daniel Hunter, who wasn't hasn't been healthy, is healthy this year.
The two of them combined for fifteen and a half sacks.
You know, vikings Usually you look over many many years,
go back to the Purple people leaders. Uh, they've been
among the league leaders and in a lot of those seasons.
But the quarterback pressures all those extra players and then

(27:06):
decision making in the final minutes of games. Zimmer's record
was atrocious the last several years in tight games. This year,
anything that's within a touchdown. They're winning, they're closing out
games that and you make your own breaks. Right. It's
like anything you do in your life, in your in

(27:26):
your job, in what you're doing around your house, uh,
and decisions you make. And in the National Football League,
if you're putting a hat near the ball, right, the
old peanut punch kind of thing, you know what, you're
gonna force some turnovers and the ball is gonna bounce
your way. It's not always, so you write it as
far as it can take. You take advantage of the schedule.

(27:46):
You had that game in London that you took down
the Saints, come back and beat the Bears the next
week and got on a bit of a run. So
you know, for for the Vikings, yeah, it was a
weird game, exciting game at every turn, and they came
up and they made one more play and that's it.
And that that's the NFL in margin victory is so small?

(28:07):
Does that mean the football gods can go the other way? On?
Now you quoting Roberts but legitimately like and yeah, I
referenced hit an hour one the Robert Sale, you know,
trying to back off the detractors of Zach Wilson was like, well,
it's three four five players, Like that's the truth, Like,
that's the NFL. It's it's the one throw you don't

(28:27):
make may cost you a game, right now, Kirk Cousins
making the throws. And if you tried catching Dalvin Cook
on the edge, I don't know what that was finally
clocked at, but that run, come on, he had to
be at twenty two miles. Nobody catching. You could see
the defenders couldn't find an angle to even make an
attempt at him. So yeah, it's it's all working right,
and they've got a good thing going. So we'll see

(28:50):
what the second half rings. Be sure to catch live

(29:13):
But we'll get back into Monday Night football. No more
undefeated teams in the NFL coming up. In about ten minutes.
But you know, I hate to say I told you so. Well,
it's kind of since you last texted me that that
there has been twenty four hours. It wasn't on Saturday.
Maybe it was funny, Maybe it wasn't. I mean, it
wasn't today. I mean that, I know yesterday you might have,

(29:35):
but I think you rephrased. First things First, is I
I hate to tell I hate to say I told
you so. But for a time I told you we're
picking games on Friday night and I was taking the
Colts on the field against the Raiders no point spread
because the ted Lasso effect can work early on. And
congratulations everybody who stole the ted Lasso take today, if

(30:00):
or we had that on Friday, You're welcome. Congratulations. I
hope you do very well. It does very well for you. Yeah,
I mean it was originally referenced earlier last week, right
after it happened. But it's but he's a but Jeff
Saturday is someone who came in and what did he do?
He didn't come in and say we're gonna tear up
the playbook, We're gonna do where do this? I have
new formation, new systems, No, he came in. He let

(30:22):
his guys coach right there was there was so much
love for the game that Parks Fraser called the first
time he called the game uh in the NFL, and
he did a great job at it. And he was
sticking behind him the entire game. And Jeff Saturday and say, hey,
you're calling a great game. Keep doing it, keep doing it.
The players talked about it. He came in. He brought
a little bit of calmness, and he brought positivity, and

(30:44):
he brought a motion and he made the one big move.
I'm putting Matt Ryan back in, oh which is a
big deal, but from someone an outsider's perspective for him
to come in and say, hey, this isn't working with
this ellnger kid, Uh, Matt Ryan's going back in. I
watched Matt Matt ran. What happens. Matt Ryan goes in
after getting a taste of not playing again, looking at
his career being over, and what happens. He has a

(31:06):
great game because he had a great game yesterday after
not playing for a month. Suddenly he comes out yesterday
and realizes, Hey, this may be my last chance. I
gotta really get going here and he had a really
good game. All that that Jeff Saturday, Yeah, I mean,
oh my god, always great and you always got that.
He got that pass from a D and he hit

(31:26):
that three. It was great. But he but what did
Jeff Saturday do? But he came in and said, Okay,
let's let's study things out here a little bit. Matt
Ryan's coming back in. You guys, go do your thing.
The team was put in a position to succeed, and
after the game, all the players in the locker room
to a man were mentioning the effect and how they
were able to keep things simple and go out and play.

(31:47):
And that was a big refrain from all of them.
We kept it simple, right, Kyle Grantham said, a tight end.
We kept things simple and it was and it was awesome.
And sometimes that that can work, right, That could for
a short period of time. And I'm not gonna work
in the NFL forever. You can't come in and say, okay, hey, guys,
loosen up. But for a short period of time, yes,
the ted Lasso effect can work where you come in
and you just get make sure your players are playing

(32:10):
at the be the best version of themselves they can be,
and That's what happened on Sunday with the Cults, who
were still a good team. People forget they were a
good team before all this craziness happened. Jeff Saturday came
in and said, okay, you guys do your thing and
Matt Ryan's gonna start toda and they win a game.
They were three five and one, so not an absolute disaster.

(32:31):
When when you get down to it, you always wonder
with Lovey Smith back in week one when he you know,
played for a tie. Uh, problematic there, but gave them
a tie, keeps them alive as they chase the Tennessee Titans,
who have the Packers on Thursday night. But we we
look at the Colts and it look it's a convergence
of a million great effects for them. Offensive line gets

(32:53):
inspired former offensive lineman, guy who knows the game, so
all the you know practice knows what. Yes, he's never
been in a practice this. He did not work with
Peyton Manning for a decade. All all points we made
last week at the hiring, when everybody was saying they're
burning it all down, it's like all that worked. And
then he was able to go to Jim Mursay and say,
you know what, Matt Ryan's going back on the center.
Offensive line played better, Jonathan Taylor ran the ball, and

(33:16):
you played the Raiders well that well did that? Did that?
Did help? You played the Raiders that can't get out
of it all. Wait, Derek Carlt's crying, get the body.
I can't say I would have picked the culture. They
were playing the Chiefs. But that's my point, Like it
just stood up as all right, for the first week
of this to happen, all of this plays and all
of those points are great. On the other side stood

(33:38):
the Raiders, who we can all look at. I mean,
Blake Martinez had eleven tackles last week and retired. Yeah,
but he he looks like the smart one, doesn't he Look,
I got out before that c oh Man ted Lass
of Effect is reel Man. It's there for the cults.
We told you twitter at how about a Fresca Mike
and Swollender. I'm coming up next for the Tire dot
Com Studios. We get back into the biggest NFL story

(34:00):
of the night. Keep it right here, Fox,
