you I'm disputed on Monday, can just use our show
With everything going on tonight with Shannon Sharp and everybody
in the Grizzlies. He went at you want some, Oh yeah,

(01:05):
you want some, and you want something I'm telling you.
When the Lakers win twenty in a row and they
go on to win the championship. It's gonna be the
Shannon Sharp game, and we're gonna talk about it like
it was the drive or the fumble, and that's that's
where this is gonna be in pop culture lexicon. Hey,
you know, the Lakers were kind of meandering and a
d was hurt and we didn't know. But then the

(01:27):
Shannon Sharp game happened and we beat the Grizzlies, who
would won a leaven in a row. And then we
didn't loud for the next month and a half and
here we are about to win the title. It was
a Shannon Sharp game that did it. It was Shandon Sharp. Yeah,
I I've now changed my mind completely. Uh, this is
the greatest strategy ever. Uh. He was not a jackass

(01:47):
at any level. It was all wildly coyote super genius
because not only did he agitate the grizz he got
to stay and watch the game and help the referee
called that final play. Oh he's out of bound. You
see him emphatically banging on the ground from his front
row seat, reaching down, showing supreme flexibility and being able

(02:10):
to celebrate the victory. This is the night that Shannon
Sharp saved the Lakers u c l A Dodger. Frank
says he has now replaced Jack Nicholson as a de
facto Lakers fan that you need at the court side.
Everybody's gonna buy a sweater man that that blue and
that hombre like royal blue and light blue, dude like

(02:32):
sweater that he's wearing. That's iconic. Now, Like that's like
like when you think of Shannon Sharp, you're gonna think
of that, not an he passes, he caught in a
football game or not being undisputed with skip or no,
You're gonna think of him standing wearing that sweater man.
And he's got to wear that in the statue. I
think its millennials don't know who Wayne Gretzky is anymore.

(02:52):
So we take the Gretzky statue out in front, in
front of the crypt and blue sweater tethe at night
looks like the blue sweater and that's the giveaway. You
touch a kick yours Pepe. Trust me, nobody knows who
he is anymore. Who is that going to get rid

(03:13):
of the day? La oh yeah, wait, oh yeah, yeah,
well that that one, that one. I can't surprise his
girlfriend instead. Uh that that should have been out on.
But now you may have to put one up and
there could be an action shot. You have to put
one up of Shannon Sharp and te Morant going at it.
That might be like a fun little thing and people
could pose in between them for pictures. I think that'll
be a fun thing. Well, there is a blank chair

(03:34):
sitting next to chick when Uh, yeah, so listen, this
was Hey, we get a lot of NFL this hour,
I promise, But this story with Shannon Sharp and what
happened the Lakers game tonight with the Grizzlies. Uh. In
case you missed it, well we'll recap it for you
right now. Shannon Sharp at the game and you know look,

(03:55):
undisputed All Week Pro Football Hall of Famer uh started
chirping with member to the Grizzlies. And we've seen in
the past Shannon Sharp has been critical of the Grizzlies,
including this from not too long ago. Steve De Sager
uh and Alex tishert pulling this off the internet when
Shannon Sharpe said this about the Grizzlies, who have been
playing really well at the top of the Western Conference.
Remember I told you Grizzlies were going to the NBA

(04:16):
Finals in the preseason. But this is about Shannon sharp
uh And here was Shannon one of the critical things
he said about the Grizzlies recently, Grizzly do a lot
of talking for his team. Does not want anything good point,
not just job all of them. You know, a lot
of yapping and a lot of yakking. And what did
they want the last time of the Grizzlins made the
Western Conference minal the job with thirteen thirteen and you're

(04:38):
talking about they go to the Western Conference and go
to the NBA Finals every year. What do you mean?
You good? You just got the Brakes meet up you
by the Nuggets. You got a night d team. But
if you think it's a four gone conclusion that talk
about run through the West, that ain't happening. Skip. You
know what they recognize against the West that he's good
to get a mate. You need to be worried about

(04:59):
Jill fam You need to be so Now why when
you're talking Smith, I'm just gonna keep cooking a good point,
good point like it's Gumbel gumbling Gumbel from family gat
yeh chair say something else besides his chair. Hi chair,

(05:19):
that's still a chair, Okay. So uh so Shannon Sharp
gets into it with Dylan Brooks. And Shannon Sharp's a
big Lebron fan, as you know on Disputed, Skip Bayless
is not, and so he starts yelling at Dylan Brooks,
you can't guard Lebron James. This is after the second quarter,
and Dylan Brooks starts yelling back at dam Shannon Sharp
at an interview with ESPN after this happened and said, guys,

(05:43):
nobody wanted this smoke that I had. I told Dylan
he couldn't guard Lebron James. He told me blank me.
I told him blank you. He doesn't want any of this.
Then Steven Adams got involved, he doesn't want any of this.
Then John Morant comes over and he starts yelling at
me he doesn't want any of this. The one thing
I will say is obviously they did want something out
of this, because they all came over to talk to you. Uh.

(06:04):
And then things escalate because then John Morant's dad, who
I get in the beginning, is that Usher? No, it
was John Moran's daddy, and Sunlight he looked a little
bit like usher. Uh. They start yelling and security gets
on the court, and and and the referees get on
the court and it's Shannon Sharp standing just off the court,
right up to the to the to the sideline and

(06:25):
he's yelling at the Grizzlies and he's baiting them, and
everybody is there and it's a big scrum and it's insane,
and so it finally gets broken up and they take
Shannon Sharp. He goes down the tunnel, comes back out
for the third quarter, and at the end he and
team Rant wind up hugging and they hug it all
out like it's a big episode of Entourage. And then

(06:46):
the Lakers go on and pull off the upset win
over the Grizzlies. They end their eleven game win streak.
Dennis Shrewder makes a strip steal and a layup at
the end that wins the game for them, and now
suddenly Shannon Sharp but he will never have to buy
a drink in Los Angeles again. I mean, this is
this is Shannon Sharp's game. But I will say this,
and I would say this to his face. I would say, listen,

(07:08):
the one thing that surprised me the most about this night,
because this really, this really is shocking we we talk
a lot about just to be serious on it for
a second. You have so much fun with it. We
got more fun coming up. He comes on, he's almost
on the court, and he is just pointing out how
does he get to stay in the game. That's like
that that everybody talked to me. I mean, how is
he all? This is where you say, Shannon, I'm sorry,

(07:28):
but dude, you really took it over the line. You're
out of your seat, I mean, chirping at the guys
back and forth grade and they're yelling at you, and
you're yelling at them, but you're on the court and
you forced security to come over, and you forced uh
the referees to come over. How is he not kicked
out of the game? Like That's that was the biggest
shock for him. Like I get that we're a celebrity
town here and this is what goes and this is
what sells and all this, but man, really they just

(07:52):
take him off for a couple of minutes then bring
him back and said, Okay, go watch the second half
and go hang out with the guy you were just
yelling at. Not only that they let him go, look
up to the guy that he was. That was gonna
start a big fight, right But it felt like it
was a family thing. It's like, all you got your
time out and you're saying sorry, ready to say you're sorry.
Why are you hitting your little brother? Why are you
hitting your little brother? You're ready to say you're sorry.

(08:13):
You're ready to come back to you ready him back
to the dinner table. You can stop doing that. Stop
making me hit myself. Oh you are hitting yourself. Stop
making me do that. Stop making me do that. You're ready.
Are you gonna say you're sorry? You gotta hug gotta
hug it out and say you're sorry. Come on, this
was rubbing his eyes. I don't like ing anymore. I

(08:36):
mean it was. It was that kind of scene. And
the Lakers go on to win, and you know, Lebron's
gonna talk about it. He's gonna be excited. He's gonna
talk about Shannon and everything. I can't wait. I'm hoping
Lebron talks before we get off the air so we
can bring you whatever he says the first question. You
know it's gonna be the first right now. My guy
had my back, all the other dance naysayers, but you know,

(08:59):
who knows what's up Hall of famers like Shannon Monday morning,
and Monday morning we get the announcement. This was I'm
telling you, it's from Undisputed, the movie, and they shot
this for the movie and we didn't know what was happening.
But this is the this is the big finale of
Nut who in the movie No Skid plays himself. We

(09:21):
we they shoot the next part at the next game,
because I like your idea of Skip repelling off of
the roof coming down to help to help Shanon. Does
he get to do one of those dance sequences like
oh so famous on TikTok and Instagram. No, but you
know what, maybe it's more like this. It's it's Shannon
is defending Lebron, right, and this happens with the Grizzlies.

(09:43):
They get all this footage. Now the next time they play,
it ends with Skip coming down and you know he's
anti Lebron and they start fighting like Skips got lasers
in his eyes and Shannon can like turn into like
a you know, some kind of monster with like big
claws for hands, and that's they do that Aker Man
to remember Harrison Ford turned into a minute what do

(10:04):
you do? Maybe that was the inspiration for this, and
that's how they shoot the end, and it's skipping Shannon
battle to the end, and it's kind of like the
end of Freddie Versus Jason sorry spoiler, where Jason wins
and he's carrying Freddy's head, but Freddy's head gives that
wink to the camera at the end, So wait a minute,
Freddy's still alive. That's how that's how it's gonna end

(10:25):
with Skip and Shannon. Yeah, I warned you, I warned you.
But Freddie Versus come on, man, Freddie versus Jason was
like fifteen years ago. Let me see hang on Freddie
versus Jason. Yeah, two thousand three, it's twenty years ago. Man,
you could have seen that. You sure they're dead too. Uh,
it's gonna be another Friday. They're rebooting Friday the thirteen.

(10:46):
They can't. Yeah, sure they can, dude. I'll come on, dude, stop.
And it's gonna be Jason. It's gonna be Jason's kid
doing doing the menacing and the ripples down from the raft.
His kid's name is gonna be Jason. You're gonna get

(11:07):
this big backstory where Jason meets this other you woman
with a with a you know, uh, you know, killer
with a hockey mask. They're gonna have a kid with
a little baby hockey mask on. You're gonna see him
grow up and be resentful of his dad because his
dad was never around. Because he's off killing teenagers and
he's gonna be mad, and so he's gonna he's gonna
take take the mantle, and he's gonna go from with
the little hockey masks of the big hockey mask. I've

(11:28):
long since retired. My son moved away. Called him up
just the other day. Dad, who want to sharpen the knives?
Can't today? That's okay, Dad, But I don't know. Is
it Shannon walking away with Skip's head at the end
and Skip winks at the camera or the other way around.
I don't know, because that would be how it would

(11:49):
have to end. Yeah, because Skip is out there tweeting
right now. But he's mentioned none of this. Yeah, Oh
he hasn't. Really, that's not telling you tweeting about the
mean hasn't mentioned Think about the alteration Undisputed the movie.
That's what this is, man. I'm telling you. It's a
big push for that. It's a big push. And you
watch the guest list for next week on Undisputed is
already there. Monday Jaw and Team Morant Tuesday Steven Adams.

(12:12):
Right when musical musical guests like it's a super Bowl,
they haven't had time and hushers out to do it.
Well done. Usher was in the mix, one of those
separated at birth, you know, Usher and Team Morant, like

(12:33):
you know who wasn't they take a little Wayne out
of the open ship put in just from Monday Baby.
Let me love you, Dad. We got some editing we
have to do to make this ready for next week
for Undisputed. I mean this is Look, this is a
story we all needed on a Friday night. It really
this is comedy and and honestly, for I'm not lying

(12:55):
for the rest of my life. When you say the
name Shannon Sharp to me, I'm going to think of
that's him in that sweater, yelling like nothing else he did,
like the tip pass for the touchdown in the a
f C Championship game. Nope, not gonna think about that,
Not gonna think about stuff. And I'm gonna think about
him wearing that sweater. That sweaters now iconic. It's like
a Kurt Kolbain sweater. Look at that sweater he's wearing.

(13:16):
Oh my god, it's like it's iconic that he's wearing
that together. That's it, man, I'll tell you. It is
almost like a dude sweater, except it's blue. Yeah, it is.
I told you it's a blue dude sweater. Ya dude,
League game, Smokey league game. Come on, man, I'm dude.
You can't throw me out Twitter and out about a

(13:39):
fresca Mike gets swollen dome or live from the direct
dot Com studios. Direct dot com will help you get
there and unmatched selection, fast free shipping, free road hazard protection,
and over ten thousand recommended installers. Tirerac dot com the
way tire buying should be. So all we wait to
hear from Lebron and Shannon. Maybe they'll be together on
the post game. Maybe Bill Bron will be answering questions

(13:59):
and Shannon will just come in and sit next to
them and they do their own like undisputed, and they
just start doing a show right there. Be sure to
catch live editions of The Jason Smith Show with Mike
harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern, seven pm Pacific on
Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app. You know,
we did a we did a special big fun Friday
the thirteenth show last week and now they're rebooting Friday franchise. Nice. Now,

(14:25):
do you think it's gonna be Jason or the wind
up being like Jason's kid, Like is he do you
think he's got Yeah, like he's something like he met
another like if he met a female, you know, hockey
mass serial killer in the woods. They got together, they
spent time at the lake. They have a big house
and you know, they had an expansion everything, and they
had a little baby that he's mad because Jason was

(14:47):
never around, Yes, little baby hockey man, because Jason had
to go kill you know, a bunch of people that. Yeah,
so the kid was mad. Dad was never around. And
now he goes out and now he goes and he
takes over. Maybe they get the rights to Cats in
the Cradle. Oh, it does. A little kid with a
hockey bath playing it on a photograph. He's on a

(15:08):
he's on a swing, trying to get himself started. And
and then later on you've got the heavy breathing into
phones when you're coming home. Son, I don't know when
he's got a knife in one head and he just
keeps picking up the needle of the record when it
finishes and putting it back to the beginning. Andie and
he's watching the news and there's there's all sorts of

(15:31):
stories on the atrocities, and you hear my boy was
just like me. And then then then they then they
cut to when he looks over and Jason's like sitting
in a recliner reading the newspaper and smoking a pipe
and not paying attention to his kid, his kids showing
him all these different ways I can carve up a
doll with a knife. Look, Dad, look what I can

(15:52):
do here. That's nice. Turn got a swam man that
he's throwing knives at and all these different things. Honey,
staircase to nowhere. I want to see if any can
anybody's booked they the big cabin on Airbnb, because if
there's teenagers there this week, I want to go kill him.

(16:13):
Can you go check if the WiFi is up? Let
me know, because it hasn't been booked the last couple
of weeks. Oh, someone's there? How many people booked it? Awesome? Okay, great,
hey son, We're gonna go have some fun this weekend. Yeay? Dad?
Like that would be awesome. It's an airbnb that has
a minimum of six people. Yeah, yeah, yeah, has it's
gotta be a full, full movie's worth. Otherwise send a

(16:33):
white bother. Well what here, Well here's how it has
to be, and here's how it has to be. Is
that just like with any airbnb, you know, Oh, it's
just me and my boyfriend coming up or whatever, me
and my girlfriend. Oh great, And then meanwhile it's like, hey,
come on up, man, we got the place. It's all good,
and like twelve people are there, and so he's causing
a lot of ruckis there. And then of course the
people that own the airbnb show up just to make
sure there's only a couple of people there, and Jason

(16:55):
winds up getting them. Oh yeah, Like that's the whole
you know what you call it still sends a bill
for the cleaning that has to happen. He's bloodstains aren't
coming out. I gotta I gotta do something more, and
I need to get Hey, honey, bring the swiffer in.
I gotta make sure you don't get your security deposit back.
Yeah that I want my security deposit back. That's a movie.

(17:22):
That's a movie that's it just like that done. Just
think of five minutes extemporaneous speaking and work shopping and yes,
and would they all wear hockey masks or would they
all or would they each have it like he's got
the hockey mask and she might have like a oh,
I don't know, like a lacrosse face mask. And then
there's got to be some variety here because now it's

(17:44):
all about merch too. Yeah, yeah, oh could you sell more? Yeah,
but just an adorable little kids and maybe it's painted
like the old hockey masks. Yeah, right when the bees
are and all those guys had the cool design and
Eddie Eagle was getting it done. Who was it? Who
was the goalie that put the notch in his in
his mask for every shutout? Who is it? Was that
Tony Esposito that did they? Hope? So? And like so

(18:07):
the kid doesn't they do it for every person he kills?
And in the man that escalated quickly. But it's a movie, Oh,
it says, we just we just rebooted the franchise right here,
and we got Hope solo on this thing now and
now we're definitely getting sued now we're done. Not so
come on, that's a great idea, right there, Pat she
had a good run. I mean, like, she's not without
some issues, but she had a good run. Wait a minute,

(18:30):
Wait a minute, wait a wait a wit wait anut, wait,
this is gonna blow your Kylo wrench. They said, no, no, no,
this is gonna blow your mind. This is what it is.
He terrorizes, he organizes. No, okay, he fakes he fit
to there we get no, no, no, no. Jason organizes
a weekend away at this big like lakeside chalet right, no, no,

(18:55):
follow me on this right, and he invites all these
great former goalies in sports hits like Patrick wa is there,
and Hope Solo is there, and Chris Osgood is there,
and and uh Flurry is there? Mark on any invited?
Well you gotta have Jonathan Quick, so let's see if
you live up to your name. Yes, yes, yes, oh
yeah yeah. And but other people I Hope Solo, Brianna Scurry,

(19:19):
they're all there, and he invites him all and all
bring your gear because we're gonna have a fun Like
you know, there's gonna be a fun game. We're gonna
play on the crash Bandit video. Man, wouldn't it be
great if we can all play and he goes after
everybody and they're all wearing masks, and they're all wearing
their goldie mask. That would be so he's in the

(19:39):
goalie mask and he's going out and killing, trying to
kill other goalies like that. That's now, that's a movie.
And ud be too quick but he would lose an
arm or something though, so so you can have the
line wasn't quick enough, you know, but but he could survive,
but he just los right, not quick enough. And then
he walked back into the cabin and it's the wall
of all the goldie masks. Yes, yes, I look at

(20:04):
only look at all these goalies right there. Now that
that's a right there, that's a movie. Why does the
Whailers one have so many dents in it? That was
Sean Burke. Uh. He was tough when he was big.
He was six three hands like monsters on. I was
able to get him. Ah, so there you go. That's
not cann write that down. That's a movie. Jason terrorizes
other goalies. Okay, uh, it is the Jason Smiths with

(20:26):
Mike Carmen. Here as we shop that pretty well. Here
on a Friday night, we got Jason Cole coming up
in a few minutes to break down the weekend coming
up in the NFL. And you know, we're at a
point where we have to ask this question ahead of
Giants Eagles, and it's going to be a difficult one
and you're gonna hear it and you're gonna go, oh, well,
I guess we kind of have to ask it because

(20:47):
every generation has their own person of this. I am
now getting ready in my Carmen because clearly we're not
gonna see the previous guy in the NFL anymore. But
now let's get ready with Joe Flacco probably done, get
ready for the is Daniel Jones elite conversations? He's the guy.
He's the guy that is Daniel Jones elite? Right, He's perfect.

(21:12):
He's the perfect guy to take that mantle away and
to take that you to you from failing hands. I
passed this torch. Uh. You know, Joe Flaccos not elite,
He's not in the game anymore. Who's that question? Daniel Jones?
Is that guy? Daniel is he elite? Because his backers
will tell you, look at some of the games he
has when he can control the game and he can
run with the football. Look I told you last week
they were gonna win, and he was gonna have over

(21:33):
seventy yards rushing. What happened. He had seventy eight yards
rushing and they won. You're welcome with that, um. But
but his detractors will say, he's just okay, he's not
a dynamic. He functions as kind of the head of
the snake. And and and that's gonna be your big debate.
Is Daniel Jones elite? And oh my god, we just
finished this with Joe Flacco. Now we're gonna do with
Daniel Jones. And I'll tell you this is Daniel Jones elite. No,

(21:56):
he's not all right. Elite is if you're really good,
he wear. Daniel Jones works and has worked right here
in this system to a point for the Giants. Right now.
He through fifteen touchdowns this year. It's not a lot, right,
He had sixty seven percid of his passes, right, but
he doesn't throw for a lot of yards. And he

(22:17):
barely threw for three thousand yards. I mean not not
four thousand yards. He barely threw for three thousand yards.
The guy is is good in this system. Now what
saves him is that he does have those games every
couple of weeks where boy, he really does damage with
the football. He's kind of like a like a like
a not even two point oh, but like a one
point oh Josh Allen right the way the way he

(22:38):
does it because he's not as dynamic and he doesn't
run and and dominate the games of the control runs
that Josh Allen does, but he does have those games
every couple of weeks ago. Wow, he really did it here.
Daniel Jones is okay? Right? Is he elite? No, he's not.
I'm never gonna tell you he's elite. He was just
a guy. He still kind of is just a guy,
and he may not be that great this week, but

(23:00):
going forward, the Giants are gonna be faced with a well,
we don't need to start over, but can we get better?
They're gonna be in a tough spot, right because because
this success by Daniel Jones comes with its own questions, Boy,
do we commit to him and we make a mark guy?
Because this may be as good as he gets in
and it really is. He's just been okay. Do we
think he's gonna continue to progress? You're kind of stuck

(23:22):
because he's been just good enough to kind of hold
on of the job. So I'm gonna tell you there's
no way Daniel Jones elite. He said. Every once in
every couple of weeks, he'll have a b he'll be
able to do something. Oh boy, he really was a
thorn in our side that game. But overall, yeah, he's
kind of just a guy. Know. As much as I
love hot day nonsense, I mean as much as much
as anybody. I mean, let's just fire up the old

(23:43):
flamethrower and get after it. Idea put that back in
the movie as well. Uh look fifteen and five, the
ten inter interception ratio, seven rushing touchdowns, seven under eight yards,
fifty seven rushing first downs. So that's uh, that's a
big d uh so because we look at his history

(24:04):
seventeen sixteen, so they were more efficient rand the sneak
and used him more effectively, Mike Kafka. That's why they're
looking at him potentially as a head coach eventually. And
you look what he and Dab will have done in
year one with Jones to where it's it's earned more
a look see and stability, right, and and the hope

(24:25):
that with another year assuming gaff castays that you then
have coordinators back to back years that you can grow
upon and maybe push him to another level, not to mention,
go spend some money in free agency and bring him
a wide receiver beyond Darius Slaton who people have heard of.
Mentioned it before when you go through their leaders in receiving,

(24:49):
and it's not to say, hey, he was a prolific
passer by any stretch, but when your leader uh is tied,
You're leading wide receiver is tied with say Kawad Barkley
at fifty seven receptions, you can the argument and spin
it of hey, they spread the ball around well to
a bunch of lesser options like no, they just didn't
have a number one to say, go get it. So

(25:09):
they'll see if they had hoped Canarius Tony would be
that guy alas he is now in Kansas City. So
Daniel Jones is a guy that I think it's peaked
people's interests because they hadn't watched him a ton kind
of had been dismissed. So now you've got folks kind
of inching up in their chairs to see what he's
all about. And he's got a huge stage here to

(25:29):
try to win some people over that he could be
the answer to say that he is right now or
even if they were to pull off a win, here
is asinine. Be sure to catch live editions of The
Jason Smith Show with Mike harmon weekdays at ten pm Eastern,
seven pm Pacific well with us Now on the Hotline.
He has a longtime NFL insider. He has a Pro

(25:50):
Football Hall of Fame voter, maybe in his last year.
It all depends. If people from the Hall of Fame
listen to him on the show, they're gonna take that away.
So if he's voting for you for the Hall of Fame, rivus,
this could be the last time. He's the author of
seven books. He's on Twitter at Jason Cole sixty two.

(26:10):
Check him out on out kick as well. He's got
a big piece on the biggest in season trades in
NFL history, breaking down the Christian McCaffrey deal. It is
the aforementioned Jason Cole. J Cole, what's happening man? You
got an email the other day from Jim Porter from
the Hall of Fames. He said it just said, I

(26:31):
need to talk. Is that a bad thing? He's asking
your sage advice about having yet? Yeah, can we discuss.
Can't fire you if he can't talk to you, George Casta,
can't fire me if they can't find me and they
don't talk to you, can't fire you. Can't be fired

(26:51):
from a non paying job like this one. How wasn't
even supposed to work today? Hey, hey, listen, listen, listen.
I gotta ask you a question because I tell Harmon
this and Harmon continues to blow me off on it.
By any chance, are you watching The Bear, The Bear,
The Bear? The TV show? It's about a It's about
a chef who comes back to Chicago. His brother commits suicide.

(27:13):
He comes back to run the restaurant. Okay, well, it's
an unbelievable show, and there is a guy on the show.
I'm not lying. I've been waiting to tell you this
all week because it might be the Bear from the Revenant. No, no, no, no,
it's not that bear. We just started watching it. And
there's a guy who does stuff and fix his stuff
around the restaurant, and he gets paid in sandwiches. I'm

(27:34):
not lying to you. He gets just like you get
paid in sandwiches to come on the show. He gets
paid in sandwiches to do stuff and fix stuff around
the restaurant. So I think we can sue the Bear
and make a lot of money on that, because that
was our idea Steely Dan when they when they Suedo
and Wilson over my cousin Dupre. It might work. I

(27:56):
think it might work. Anything out of that up a
couple of one sandwiches, possible possible drug money for Walter
Becker allegedly alleged come on, allegedly, come on this I

(28:18):
miss Walter, I'm missing. It's a genius. Hey. So I
want to bring this up too, because this is something
I mean, I want to bring up something you actually
did on the internet. Um, you have this big column
up on out Kick about in mid season trades in
the NFL. Can the Christian McCaffrey trade end up the
best mid season deal of all time? Yeah? Because I

(28:40):
mean think about if they end up winning the Super Bowl? Right? Um,
for a second or third round pick? And I think
was it for a second or third and fourth? And
then you wrote the column you should know they're sparky.
Come on, man, you got to know these well. I mean,
there's so many draft picks that were mentioned in that colum.
It's it's hard to remember them, all right, but makes

(29:05):
sure plus a five. Stop talking, I'm describing my count. Okay.
So anyways, um, if in a year where they're down
to their number three quarterback, and granted the number three
quarterback has been a surprising genius, Okay, but McCaffrey comes
in basically becomes goes back to being the great dual

(29:26):
purpose player, dual threat player that he was. Yeah. I
mean he's so important to what they do on offense,
and the fact that they survived down the stretch mostly
without Deebo Sammuel and now they have Samuel back, which
makes them more dangerous. But yeah, I would say it
becomes a better trade than the von Miller trade. Now,

(29:48):
there are certain ways you have to qualify this. Now,
the herschel Walker trade, it's still a stunning trade, but
not for the team that acquired player. It didn't really
work for Minnesota as far as the team that was
acquiring him to try and win, you know the purpose
of making this deal. I think this would be the

(30:09):
biggest one. And there's been four trades like this, you know,
von Miller last year, and then there was Booker McFarland
in two uh, and then Mike Haines back in nineteen
the Raiders got him and went on to win a
Super Bowl. And uh, I think I talked about and
there's nine team trades, but I talked about in this one.

(30:30):
Obviously the herschel Walker one gets mentioned in there, but
again not so fortunate for the for Minnesota, very fortunate
for the Cowboys. But now Ron Lynn not not not
not a great deal for him. Now, when we look
at the squad, you also get Eli Mitchell back with
Deebo Samuel so helping with McCaffrey's workload and opening him up.

(30:54):
But it all comes down to Brock Purty and what
he's able to do against that Dallas defense. People seemingly
come around to my thought Jason Cole, that Trey Lance
is not some untouchable mythic figure just because of what
they've given for him a couple of years ago. That
that's a sunk cost baby in economic terms. Oh that's yeah,
that that is definitely sunk or sunk in however you

(31:17):
want put it. But Kyle Shanahan has told people privately
that um that he knows that Tray Lance is not
the answer and certainly not the answer anytime short term, right, like,
if Tray Lance is going to make it, Trey Lance

(31:39):
is gonna need a lot of work. Brock Purty is
ready to leave them right now. Now. I still hesitate
from saying completely that brock Purdy is the starter going
in the next year, no matter what I think they're
you know, you still have to have some hesitation to
see what happens here in the rest of the playoffs. Here,

(32:00):
but he's been he's been damned impressive, and it gives
you a fallback in case. Okay, maybe we want to
chase Aman Rodgers, maybe want to chase Tom Brady, but
we're not going to go out of control with it
because we have this other guy to fall back on
for the short term. But Trey Lance, I think they're

(32:22):
gonna do everything they can to pump up his stock
in the offseason, send him somewhere else. So like when
when Trey Lance is doing crossed fingers on Ran Carpon
moving on, Yes, let me just say, so is Kyle Shanahan.
So that's the definition of writing on the wall. I
would do that. That's what we have right there that

(32:43):
I think that Tray Lance. Yeah, look, Jimmy Garoppolo is
definitely gone this is not He's not staying around for this. Um.
He did that once already. But I think that the
I think the forty Niners will do whatever they can
try and sell tray Lance and say in trade to

(33:03):
somebody else and recoup a little bit of what they
got however they can. UM. But I don't see trail Lance.
Even if brock Purty doesn't work out, there's a pretty
good chance of Trailance doesn't stick around. Does he have
do you think he can work out? Like? Is he
someone that long haul brock Purty can be the next

(33:25):
Tom Brady or the next Tony Romo and you know,
come from obscurity and win. Or is he having this
moment now and eventually teams are going to catch up
with them. I'm really interested to see Sunday when when
he's facing a great pass rush or like Michael Parsons, right,
how does he handle that? And then the week after,

(33:45):
assuming they survived on Sunday again Dallas, then you face
a really you know, a heavy front against Philly that
can also pass rush. I don't want to see him
in those two games. Up to now, he's passed every
test with flying colors. And I mean I know, people
you know have had one scout like just ripped me

(34:08):
in the middle of the conversation when I said this,
But I'll say then, I'll say anyways, he leads the
field and processes and has had as fast as any
quarterback I've ever seen, including Dan Marino. Now, he's not
gifted physically like Dan Marino or he's a lot of

(34:28):
these other guys. Don't get me wrong, Okay, don't take this.
But in terms of the aptitude that he has the
cognitive skills that he has to read a play dissected
nowhere go have an answer for when defensive throws something
at him. He's He's amazing. He's truly truly stunning how

(34:52):
good he is. And on top of that, he's got
what my people would call futzpa um that there's a
There was this play last Saturday where he threw deep
in the end of the midway through the second quarter.
I thinking, you know, it was overtlown um. He was

(35:13):
going deep for Ioak who was um one on one
coverage right now. He should have thrown the ball to
be about Samuel who was wide open on the writing
and side, but he saw an opportunity with IQ and
one on one coverage to take a shot. Well, I
thought the ball was going to Samuel and quit running
it about the ten yard line, so the ball fall
thing complete. I as I was running back towards the

(35:35):
huddle just before he got stubbed out. Rock Party is
standing there and he's just staring at IOK, just like
And it was such a ballsy moment for a young
quarterback had he played seven games to be staring down
a veteran wide receiver because the guy quit on the

(35:56):
route when he could have had a touchdown. Because that
was that was the read by Purdy. So I just
think that this kid is off the chart in terms
of the mental skill and aptitude that takes to play
the position, but the physical skills are at best average.
I mean, I mean, I look him in the eye.

(36:18):
I'm five ft eleven, I'm looking at kid in the eye.
I mean he kind of looks like a lot of
the guys that played their murals against in college, you know,
from a physical standpoint. How about that? But getting a
job done as he is he has thus far. He
meets Michael Parsons and company, and all of a sudden,
das alite again and everybody loves him after he beats

(36:38):
up on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a with a
rookie left tackle and Nick Bosa coming, that's gonna be
it really is. Nick Bosa versus Dak Prescott and Michael
Parsons versus Rock Purty is a great great Those are
two great matchups. If only we could have it at SummerSlam,

(37:02):
both both parts of the SummerSlam, because maybe they could
meet a burning man. All right, let me let me finish.
You be here, j Cole, all right, of all the
games tomorrow, we had a lot of big point spreads
on here. What's the most likely upset of the next
two days? What's the most likely upset you see the
games this weekend? Yeah, it's easy to say what since

(37:27):
and the Bill Buffalo, But you know, I don't know
that that's not I don't qualify that as necessarily an
upset because that's a pick up game in my mind.
I don't know exactly what the point spread is, but
it's kind hand of a pick. Yeah, yeah, I mean
that's a that's a little heavy on Buffalo. Um. So

(37:51):
you know that that's that I just you know, like
that's not a true, true upset. If you're looking for
a true, true upset, I can see a path for
Jacksonville beat in Kansas City, sweet chaos. What's that path?
Is it the yellow brick road? What? What's the path
for them? The path is that Kansas City. And they've

(38:15):
done it so many times over the last three or
four years. They don't know how to put people away,
not on a consistent basis. And and what Jacksonville is like,
I mean, they're basically Richard Dreyfus and let it ride,
aren't they. I mean, Jacksonville is just like the plan

(38:35):
on House Money. They're like you were three and seven,
all right, let's keep this thing going. And like I
think they're they're gonna be unafraid of the situation. They
don't care, Like they're probably looking at all the fans
who are going to be doing them and saying, you
guys are from Kansas City, We're from jack Inville. We
don't care what you think. Um. And I just there's

(39:00):
a there's a sense of confidence and the chiefs don't
put people away, like they just don't have that absolute
killer instinct. Now, they're great when they're challenged, like if
they're behind by ten points, after the first quarter, you
can mark it down that they're gonna go on like
a thirty tree run and take control of the game.

(39:21):
Right That's that's what Kinsey does because they get you know,
they wake up a little bit. But if they're up
in the first half, it's like last year against Cincinnati,
in the first half, they're up in the game, they're
kind of cruising, and then they screw up that last
possession of the first half and since and it just
takes off on them. Right, That to me is what
the Chiefs can do. And if you're not careful against

(39:47):
the team that's young and kind of doesn't know any better,
you could lose that game. Now again, if they played,
if these teams played five or seven times, I'm picking
can't City win, you know, and all but one of them,
but that one could happen. See, I thought you're gonna say,

(40:07):
like mahomes brother starts tweeting some stuff at halftime and
he has to leave the game to go tell him
to stop tweeting, and he doesn't play in the second half,
and that's how they wind up winning. And then the
wife starts tweeting about the refs and then wait stops
I gotta go has it out for? Has it out for? Yeah,
I mean that's that's all the all the silly kind

(40:28):
of things that go on. But you know, maybe Zack
Wilson will show up and didn't want to challenge. Look
at that with the basic My favorite story was the
headline to Day I saw about veterans questioning Zach Wilson's
work habits. Really, that's a shocker. No, we didn't see

(40:50):
that at all during the regular season. Yeah, I mean,
he was putting in so much effort and so much
work to learn the offense and be on top of
his game. Couldn't It wasn't that obvious from the way
he played this year. That's why they didn't have to
source it to anybody. You just say anonymous people told
me this, and you're write whatever the hell you want.
Pretty much, here's what I can tell you. I saw

(41:13):
this and all the fans are like, guess that a
way we watched against You. Just wait until it's Lamar
Jackson playing quarterback for the Jets next year. You just wait,
all of you, Jess, I'm waiting, Jacole. He's on Twitter
at Jason coul sixty two. That is at Jason Cole

(41:33):
sixty two. I'm much like Richard Driving. Why does the
why does the offensive coordinator take a hit for that one? Well,
because it's two years the system is bad and it
didn't work well. The bigger question is why why did
a third the league the quarterback was terrible? Like well,

(41:54):
when the wide receiver tells him to go blank himself
in practice, I don't know that one of them can't
stay Jacole, what I gotta gotta go? No, not necessarily.
That stuff happens all the time on football teams, just
a lot. That happens a lot more than you think.
We just hear about it more with teams like the Jets. Oh,
I mean Dan Marino with Gary Stephens. Gary Stevens an

(42:15):
offensive coordinaire forever, and amount of times that Marino would
walk into a meeting, look at the look at the
the the game sheet, the game plan, and goes, this
is the same stupid stuff you have last week, and
then like throw it at him and walk out. I
mean that's what happened. I mean, and it was much more,

(42:39):
much more invective, let's just put it that way in
his tone, which you know we'd get you guys in
trouble with the SEC but nonetheless, Dan Maria would look
at the game plan and go, you know, basically, this
sucks and throw it back at Gary Stephens. But Danny, Danny,
take it easy body. We'll talk to you next week later, guys, God,

(43:00):
damn money. Danny, Danny, Danny Danny
