over the Jazz. It was incredibly had fifty points by
the end of the third quarter, and we talked about
his legacy, which is gonna be a guy that I
wish he had played on a better team. The Lakers
finish up a one thirteen, one oh four weeks Taco
for everybody. Uh, they beat the Spurs Anthony Davis's return,
he scared everybody by taking a three pointer at the

end of the third quarter, coming down very awkwardly, looked
like he sprained his ankle, but he turned out to
be fine. He went on to have a pretty big
night and a pretty decent fourth quarter as the Lakers
pulled away. Uh. In this game, it was a game
that the Spurs really were were niptuck with them for
the most part. One thirteen, one oh four is the final.
Lebron goes for twenty a d off the bench in

his return with twenty one and twelve and twenty six.
Man It's but now we get the full drama of
Memphis and Golden State. Jordan Pool just hit a layup
to win the game with no time left. There was
a play where the Grizzlies fall asleep on defense and
Pool is able to sneak by and put in a

layup to win the game by a bucket right. Great
play by Jordan Pool. Great play drawn up by Steve
kerr uh phenomenal, phenomenal um. But all the drama from
this comes from what we're gonna tell you about. Right now,
with less than two minutes left to go, this is
a niptuck game again between the Warriors and the Grizzlies. Right,

(02:41):
and Steph Curry swings the ball around and is coming
around the outside. He's running around the arc and one
of those deals where he starts on one side of
the court and he comes all the way back around
expecting the ball for a spot up three. Right, You've
seen that how many times I have the ball on
the wing, I'm gonna drive, I pass the ball out,
I come all the way back around because I lose

my defender, I catch and shoot. Except on this play,
Jordan Pool decided I'm gonna shoot this from thirty eight feet.
So Steph comes running around clapping his hands, going give
me the ball, give me the ball, give me the ball. Instead,
Jordan Pool hoists it up from nearly forty ft. Yeah,
he he goes thirty plus steps beyond him. Yeah. But

I'm Steph Curry. I take these shots. You're Jordan Pool.
You don't just give me the ball, give the ball,
but instead Jordan Pool. Maybe didn't know the shot clock reset,
you know, you know, but he did take a really
awful shot. The Grizzlies get the rebound. Steph Curry turns
and runs up court. He gets past half court and

he takes out his mouthpiece and you know this conversation
with Great you know how I feel about Steff and
his mouth piece. He takes out his mouthpiece and he
whips it off the floor on the left corner. You
love when he choose it. He throws it right. It
goes right by a referee and the referee stops tease
him up and throws Curry out. Curry gets ejected for

throwing his mouthpiece. Now it looks kind of weak, but
the referee, going by the letter of the law, is
he took something. He threw it off the court, and
he threw it into where people are, and even though
it was his mouthpiece, he threw it off the court.
And he winds up getting ejected and trying to argue.
So I didn't mean to do that. It's like, no,

(04:25):
you you wound up. You're clapping and then you wound
up and like a petulant child, you fired it down
the other end of the court and you're like, oh,
I didn't really mean no, you did it. Look, I
don't know what I like more about this, because you know,
I just can't stand Staff and they always cut away
to him and he's chewing his mouth piece and that's like,
I like to come on, man, just stop, okay, keep

(04:47):
the mouth piece in your mouth, chewing it. And I'm
doing this. But I don't know what I like more
the fact that he threw his mouthpiece and got thrown out,
or the fact that Jordan's Pool pissed him off so
much that bad shot. He threw the mouth piets and
got ejected. No, no, no, but that at the second No.
The last part though, is that Jordan Pool ends up

scoring the game winner had a backhut on, so that
it's the whole arc of it's it and redemption and all.
And and after Steph gets thrown out, Pool and Steph
are yelling at the ref and I'm sure Pool's going, Hey,
he's mad at me because I took that bad shot. No,
he's mad at me. And you know, he threw something
off the floor and you can't do that, right, So
letter of the law, that's it. That's an automatic ejection.

(05:30):
So I get it, I understand, But this the fact
that Jordan Jordan's Pool who fought Draymond Green and Draymond Greef,
wanted to fight him in practice because he couldn't stand
his attitude. Now you have Steph Curry getting so mad
that he gets thrown out of the game because of
a bad shot. Maybe Jordan Pools the guy holding back
the Warriors. I don't know. I'm just saying, how great

will the post game with Draymond Green by He's gonna
sit there and grinned from here to here and go
at me tonight? Huh just started cackling because he was
talking with John Morant a bunch over the course of
the game. So curious as the and they even said
it on the broadcast. Curious what the two of them
have been kind of jawn about all night because they
had a couple of calls that had to go for

review and everything. Uh in the lane Morant, you know,
going in and then at one point Draymond was going
to the free throw line and they were chirping at
each other before he would ultimately uh, well missaid free throw.
But that's neither here nor they're the victory, Steph Um

getting angry, and Jordan Pool like, what did I do?
I mean, I scored twenty one and I got the
post game interview go away. Yeah, that's like, okay, this
is where Steve Kurt goes. Okay, that's great. Yes, game
winning layup, awesome, awesome redemption by you, Jordan Pool. I
I really appreciate that. Why were you shooting? That was great?
But let me just let you know that. You know,

we have guys here that won multiple championships in the
span of a couple of months. You've been able to
piss off Draymond Green so much she wanted to fight you,
and Steph gets thrown out because he's so mad at you.
Steph Curry, who is the most gentle superstar. I mean
he's an assassin, but he's the most gentle dude. Everybody
gets along with Steph Curry, and he's so bad because

you took that shot. Why is Georgian Pool point to
get Clay Thompson? What's going on there? Hey? If I'm
Clay on what he's next? Clay Thompson's got to be next, man,
I'm worried if I'm Clay Thompson, right, what does it
mean that Steph Curry is gonna knock his house out
of practice tomorrow? You're normally show pinpoint precision with your

passes and shots. Why does stuff keep whizzing past my head?
I mean, I've never seen Steph Curry loses cool like that,
and it was at his own teammate. All right, now,
this look look not to get to not to get
too into because this is a funny story, but just
think about this for a second. As good as Jordan
Pool is, his attitude did piss off Draymond Green so

much the point where he wanted to fight him at practice,
and and piste off Steph Curry so much that he
threw his mouth piece. He was so mad, and he
wound up getting ejected for it. Got ejected. Um, so yeah,
while Jordan Pool kind of giveth Jordan Pool kind of
taketh away a little bit too. I really wonder what
the dynamic is like and how are they all in

on Jordan Pool. Do they love that he's there? Does
he does he do enough for them that that this
stuff makes it worth it? That's really fascinating part of
this because you're talking about two superstars that absolutely had
it to the point where a guy where things have
happened that are shocking. All right, Draymond Green, we know
he got but Draymond Green never never pushed Kevin Durant
like that in practice and wanted to find him. They

would get back and forth at each other, but it
never happened. Steph Curry, I I've never seen Steph Curry
saying a bad word about a guy ever. And he's
it's so mad that I'm throwing my mouthpiece and getting injected.
So yeah, you wonder about Jordan Pool a little bit there. Well,
he's a guy and we've talked with Rick Bucker and
talked with oh many of our our colleagues so many times,

Jason that you know, there's there's no two ways about it.
The guy doesn't play defense worth anything. And there's always
the question of how much effort he's actually exerting to
pretend to do so. Right, This is another level of
James Harden in terms of defensive effort or lack thereof.

(09:23):
And and so there's that. And he's a great score,
there's no question he's got and I you know, good
shooting um acumen and obviously active on the offensive end.
And we saw it here where they designed a great
pass from de Vincenzo to him on the inbound and
probably should have gotten on and one on it. Uh.

(09:45):
But in the end offensively, Yeah, he's one of those
players that that it terrifies opponents because you already have
Stephen and Clay that you've got to worry about. And
they've figured out, for the most part, how to get
those three guys on the court together and make it
hum But when when it's all said and done, the

other things are lost. And I gotta wonder how much
of the the young guys swagger comes in good, bad,
and different. Right, it's the it's perception becomes reality. And
if if Curry and Claire like, all right, you know
we we've already done this. Just calm down over there. Uh,
and you're feeling chesty because you're the next thing. You know,

there's always gonna be that acrimony. And then he got
Draymond who has that antagonist in him. Uh, so you
know he's gonna keep poking because hey, you haven't been
here for all of this, so that that gets into
our fight back in the day. But yeah, this is funny.
I mean this, this is such a bad look on staff,
it's not even I mean, look that that's the long

range thing is what's Jordan's Pool's status like and how
you know, fitting in with with the with the words.
I hope the short term view, as Steff says, I
don't need a mouthpiece anymore because really because that really
I'm done with all the shots of him walking up
court looking up. I'm done with that. I've been done
with that for years. But it's like that's his thing.
It's like that's his thing now that in fact, when

they build a statue of him in you know, in Oakland,
it should just be him walking chewing on his mouthpiece.
In fact, maybe the statue should just be the mouthpiece
and that's what it is, not him taking a shot,
not just a statue of the mouthpiece. Does he endorse
a particular brand because with everybody needing them and all
the safety uh stuff, when you talk about lacrosse to

degrease some some soccer and definitely football, I mean, there's
there's some money to be made for Steph Curry in
the mouthpiece game. I don't know is there though, because
you can't really see a logo on the mouthpiece because
it's got to be clear game warn mouthpiece it. No,
you're you're gonna find those at auction for sure. Hey wait,
did I buy it? No, dude, you bought it in Visiligne.
It's that you got You got totally wrong. You could

taste like stuff. You gotta got, Steff, mouth pieces in
my mouth. I feeling pretty good. I'm starting takets of breeze.

I don't know that was my how to talk with

but then maybe you get people cheating by selling that's

there's congratulations on watching pulp fiction for the first you get.

Rodgers thing. Who cares? He makes a good product? Wait wait, wait,
wait wait, Quentin Tarantino's going to the Jet now. Quentin Tarantino,
he's been much more that ary. This is if Aaron
Rodgers had a press conference every few days saying I
could retire, that's Quentin terrytind does I could be done,

Quentin Tarantino. I guess I don't pay attention enough. Listen,
just listen. The Jets have a better chance of getting
Aaron Rodgers and Quentin Tarantino. So okay, I'm I'm okay
with that. I think that's a dubious claim. I mean,
I've said lots of critical things about Aaron Rodgers the
last few years, but if the Jets get him, I
gotta just let it go and move like you do.

What kind of have you let it go? We never
asked you how you felt if he does go to
the Jets about wearing names number. We never asked you kidding.
I'll whatever number you want, of course, but he's not
really What do you mean he's not with it? I
mean he could still play, He's seventy seven. I'd rather

have been playing now than Zach if he thinks they're
they're gonna win it because of his number? I mean,
should you really have to say what I think Joe name?
I wouldn't be said if Joe Namath ran the jest
if he started making decisions all of them, no matter
what they are, told you, somebody else has to make
the decision at quarterbacks him. So you're cool with it?

Yeahol if we are Rodgers, Yeah, of course. Now Aaron
got it disappointed considering how how much of a persistent
basher you've been. Now we have others that have been
far more aggressive in that in those terms. Will leave
that and let folks figure that out as they will.

on many a year now, very critical of doesn't matter
decisions doesn't matter. You're talking about Pat McAfee. Listen, this
is listen. This is the equivalent of in high school,
if there was a girl that didn't like me or

Patrick Mahomes is now focused on the a f C
Championship game. Yes, bad injury, the the high ankle sprain.
Is he gonna play? What's it gonna be like? No,
he was a full participant in practice today and said
he is all ready to go for the Bengals on Sunday.

It's Travis Kelsey playing the ukuleality. Yeah, the company making
it anymore obvious, but only illusion. Don't ask my brother
for an update. Is doing good and you know, a
few days of treatment, a few days of rehab, Excited

to get on the practice field and kind of tested
out and see where I'm at. But it's feeling good
so far. So the last one it was a leg
that I landed on, so I had found ways to
throw where I can land and keep it in the
right spot. And this time I'll have to find ways
to be able to push off and be able to
still make the throws the right way. So uh, definitely
similar in a sense, but obviously different limitations and stuff
that off the world. You know, for the first things

is that how injured? Is he really right? High ankle
sprain is this is a week's long injury and you
have a tough time the middle of the week is
gonna be worse than Tony Romo talked about how by
Wednesday's not gonna be able to walk, but now he's
not only ready to play, but he's practicing. So yeah,
it was that really what the injury was and we

really being told what the injury is. Was that a
double by Patrick Mahomes? Was that a clone that came
out and talked to William Mahomes is struggling and we're
not gonna see the sheep yeah or tomorrow Hamlin, right,
because it's not it's not him, right, it's not him.
He's wearing a hat, he's wearing a hood. It's not him.
It's somebody else. But honestly, look, I would love to
be able to pick the Chiefs in this game. Right.

(21:55):
Mahomes has had a great season. The Chiefs have found
a way without Tyreek Hill. They were able to reload
on the fly with a little bit different style of
offense and it's been awesome. But you have a Bengals
team that is a bad matchup for the Chiefs. They're
there kryptonite, right, three wins in a row. Burrow has
been the better quarterback and no matter what, he's the

(22:16):
better quarterback this weekend. Because you have Mahomes coming into
this game dinged up. The Bengals just are a bad
matchup for the Chiefs. I know the Chiefs are playing
at home. It sounds great and things may start out
fine for the Chiefs. But eventually Patrick Mahomes is gonna
get hit and something's gonna happen, and they're gonna find
out we're not playing the Jaguars, and the Bengals defense,

(22:37):
which is a hell of a lot better, is going
to start imposing their will on this game. Right I
I see the game plan early, and I'm sure Andy
Reid's gonna try to get my Homes to get rid
of the ball fast to worry about the pass rush.
But they can't do that all the way down the
field because they don't have the receivers for that. So
eventually he's gonna wind up scrambling running, he's gonna get hit,
his injury is gonna come into play, and the Bengals

(22:58):
are too good to not take advantage of that and
win this game. The Jaguars a year from now would
have won the game last week. They would have found
a way, Okay, how do we adjust Mahomes can't really
do it? But instead they didn't know because they were
new to the playoffs and new to the pressure. It's
just one of those things about being able to advance
and mature as a team. So next year they probably
would have won that game. So the Chiefs were really

(23:20):
lucky to get out of that game against the Jaguars.
With the victory, it's not gonna be so much against
the Bengals. And again, I would love to be able
to pick the Chiefs. I just don't see a way
where I could say for four quarters they're gonna be
able to shut down what the Bengals are being able
to do well stubbornly since I picked them to get
to the Super Bowl win said super Bowl, I have

(23:40):
no choice but stick with them. You have to. Yeah,
just not a lot of confidence here. Look I did
well with the final four and now, uh, well here
we are. Um, you look at Mahomes and game plan
McKinnon a lot out of the backfield, trying to figure
out how much you can use the screen pass and
short lips to to get you where you need to be.

(24:02):
Kelsey obviously commands a lot of attention. So in theory,
you're you're working to your secondary receivers in in man
to where you might be able to find a couple
of opportunities. And god knows, with all the chirp and
that Eli Apple's done, uh, they're gonna try to make
an example of him early and often uh in this

(24:23):
one to shut him up or to get him agitated
to where maybe he does something silly on the field
of play. But the pass rush is gonna be huge,
that front seven and what they're able to do to
Mahomes early trying to force him to move laterally. Remember
what happened in that Super Bowl against Tampa while he
had two good ankles and that one he had no

(24:45):
offensive line. Here, it's well, he's potentially the issue because
you don't have a brilliant offensive line, so you know
it's going to be incoming upon him to get rid
of the ball quickly. Um Burrow and company, it really well,
I think the borough head thing might be the dumbest
uh name, but I don't I don't know they that's

(25:08):
not very creative. But three and oh against the Chiefs,
they've figured out read to a point, and maybe the
defensive coordinator goes and gets one of these jobs that
seemingly nobody ever wants to make a higher un nobody
wants to be the first to hire a new head coach.
So maybe he'll actually be able to go to and
win a Super Bowl before anybody's hired and still has

his choice of jobs. But I well, no, no, but
they did say that Denver could have hired a guy
as early as Wednesday, Field, as early as and you know,
just just an offshoot. Real quick notice, how nothing is
gaining more momentum for Sean Payton, right? I don't think
by now it would be Okay, we're gaining Sean Payton

momentum and we're getting we're getting back on the couch
Colin Coward at which we we surmised would have been
the case if Dallas and the Chargers didn't open up.
Is that the rest of the jobs all had huge problems.
Not that Dallas doesn't wait wait wait wait wait wait
wait wait, Dallas has huge problem. No, no, no, but

my point right, but of all the jobs that had
become available, every one of them there was a huge
reason and a giant blinking red red light saying don't
tread here for Sean Payton. So when those other two
jobs didn't open up, what where do you really want

to go? Work of the jobs that are available. Screw that,
go back to TV Jet now firing Robert That Robert
Salad didn't get bounced either, So you're getting Sean Payton.
Aaron Rodgers Lamar Jackson. They're all gonna back up Zack Wilson.
That's a great quarterback there. But you know I have
Sean Payton. I'm I'm coming into interview for a job.

Oh no, no, no, a sala is still here. You're
replacing La Fleur, I like Zach is done. So this week,
Aaron Rodgers will be inactive as the number three quarter Well,
you know, we've got a couple of packages that we've
worked in for Aaron that we think we could utilize
him in. You know, I had some experience with I
really liked how we we used Taysom Hill down there

in New Orleans. I think Aaron gives us some opportunities. Sorry,
